Ed1, you have any info on what is going to happen with Konate? Seen a lot of reports saying there is no breakthrough in contract talk. I believe the talk started months ago and there is still no agreement? Can't go through another "Trent Situation" for another season.
{Ed001's Note - I expect him to be replaced and sold this summer.}
1.) 15 May 2025 13:15:12
Bookmarked this for when Konate absolutely still plays for Liverpool next season.
2.) 15 May 2025 13:38:39
Wow really Ed, I thought he would stay mate for sure. Any ideas who we might look to?
{Ed001's Note - I am hoping for one particular player but promised not to see who.}
3.) 15 May 2025 13:48:06
Curious to see who could afford him and would want to move, PSG or Madrid?
4.) 15 May 2025 14:16:03
Who do you see replacing Konate Ed? This player you hope for. Is it just hope or is there substance there?
So you see us signing 2 cbs in the summer then?
{Ed001's Note - hope for now, but I am sure he must have come under consideration. But it will probably be someone unexpected, as the whole point of Hughes coming in was to find undiscovered talent. I only expect one.}
5.) 15 May 2025 14:28:16
Ed 001, I just scoured all the center backs in the league and am still clueless to who your nameless choice would be!
{Ed001's Note - Bazza is the man to ask he knows who it is.}
6.) 15 May 2025 14:37:13
With a year left he won't be going for more than 50M i would think, many clubs can afford that.
7.) 15 May 2025 14:46:41
Ed1. Does that particular player apply his trade in the prem or abroad?
{Ed001's Note - Prem.}
8.) 15 May 2025 14:56:11
I’d like to see Emmanuel Agbadou join from Wolves. He’s 6ft4 and has great positional sense, becoming the main reason that team has prospered recently. He’s 27 but would thrive at RCB.
{Ed001's Note - and there it is, someone sees what I see.}
9.) 15 May 2025 15:00:02
So our business will be replacing the players that are leaving. Eg trent and konate . Some chance of getting that right and bringing in players we obviously need with Hughes at the wheel.
10.) 15 May 2025 15:08:24
I guess the club have learned a harsh lesson with the TAA situation and aren’t prepared to have the likes of RM taking the mickey again with Konate. Let’s be honest, there was nothing the club could have done to get TAA to stay, he never intended to, this is why there is so much negativity about it.
11.) 15 May 2025 15:16:48
Ed001 just if it's Diomande or Scalvini or Araújo or Mosquera or António Silva ;)
{Ed001's Note - someone like that I think. Yes. We have watched all of them.}
12.) 15 May 2025 15:22:19
You only expected one CB Ed? I thought club wanted at least 3 top class CB in the squad. One to replace Konate and one to replace Virgil in the future. I really can't see Quansah as the 3rd choice CB, I don't think he is good enough.
Good to know the name of the player Ed. You didn't say the name directly so finger cross. Wolves actually got good players in each positions. Agbadou, Joao Gomes and Cunha. They should be higher in the table.
{Ed001's Note - there are a lot of players we need and I expect Hato to be brought in, who can also cover centre-back.}
13.) 15 May 2025 15:40:40
Ed001, could you see a genuine CB and then a Hato who would primarily play LB but can also play CB. That would make the most sense to me but I have a feeling it'll be Kerkez at LB.
{Ed001's Note - yes mate, that is exactly what I expect.}
14.) 15 May 2025 15:56:30
Ed001 I'm so proud of you for keeping your promise ??.
{Ed001's Note - just hope it ends up being worthwhile!}
15.) 15 May 2025 16:11:49
You do have a point Ed. If we are making too many changes to the squad, if feels like we are doing what Chelsea is doing. And they are struggling.
If we exclude the player who can't be mentioned, who do you think out of the name mentioned are the best choice?
{Ed001's Note - I haven't seen enough of those to judge them at all mate. Sorry.}
16.) 15 May 2025 16:16:48
Sorry, has the CB been mentioned in the thread above already Ed001? Emmanuel Agbadou?
{Ed001's Note - I cannot confirm or deny that it is him. Bazza will answer this one.}
17.) 15 May 2025 16:24:55
Not seen any of the Wolves CB, that’s a definite curveball.
Would love Bastoni but that is just pie in the sky.
18.) 15 May 2025 16:48:29
Either way it is not a worry if he stays fine if he goes we replace him. He is not an elite defender players like Konate are ten a penny.
19.) 15 May 2025 17:47:22
I'll take a guess and say your scouting career ended somewhat prematurely NickerBollox?
20.) 15 May 2025 17:53:10
Personally don’t see the hype with Konate, makes a good parter to Virg because of his physical presence but he really struggles when Virg is not playing. My only gripe with the transfer out is having to make more changes in what is already shaping up to be transitional summer transfer, in an ideal world he signs and extension as we have priority areas to concern ourselves with.
21.) 15 May 2025 17:59:45
Hato makes a lot of sense, especially with Frimpong on the other flank. Cannot imagine Kerkez and Frimpong both bombing on with us employing a dedicated defensive midfield is a great idea. You'd think Hato could shift over and make a 3 when Frimpong is forward.
22.) 15 May 2025 19:07:19
Why am I getting dejavu? Didn’t we already have this thread?
23.) 15 May 2025 17:33:16
Oh it's so Agbadou Ed01 lol.
24.) 15 May 2025 19:53:59
Right Barry spill the beans. I have a fair idea it's Murillo.
25.) 15 May 2025 21:13:17
Heard we’re in for Pushpineapple and Shakeatree too.
{Ed025's Note - love it Flidby..
09 May 2025 15:37:39
Good day Ed. Just to put it out there, if both Diaz and Chiesa are to leave in the summer, would someone like Wirtz a realistic replacement? Can play in LW and as a 10.
{Ed001's Note - unlikely, be a great replacement but he is likely to join Bayern. Though I wouldn't be surprised to see him follow Alonso to Madrid.}
1.) 09 May 2025 16:44:00
Bloody alonso going to Madrid and building a legacy.
2.) 09 May 2025 17:07:41
Sad that a classy guy like Xabi Alonso will lead a shabby operator like Real Madrid.
3.) 09 May 2025 18:37:32
By all accounts we are looking to get a contract renewal on Diaz and given his prominence this season and the level of changes needed elsewhere I reckon Diaz stays put with departures for Nunez, Chiesa and possibly even Jota.
4.) 09 May 2025 18:40:35
Was disappointed with Leverkusen and Alonso when we played them this season. Was like watching a game against Mourinho in the latter portions of his Chelsea career.
5.) 09 May 2025 19:03:16
Who "LEAVES" RM will be more telling! Ancelotti going will be the ending of the Empire, he's the Daddy of them all the biggest boots to replace in the whole of Europe.
Fancy joining a club whose players only play for themselves and have zero interest in the club, M-"BABY", Junior, SMELL-ingham and YKW, you're not judged on your football skills at RM, it's who has the biggest "HEAD"!
Biggest bunch of "Posers" ever assembled.
6.) 09 May 2025 22:33:32
We'll see Southern, we'll see. I'm not convinced.
7.) 10 May 2025 07:00:24
I wouldn’t be at all surprised if, during the period Liverpool were pursuing Alonso, Real Madrid quietly intervened with a message along the lines of, 'sit tight, your time with us is coming. ' If that was the case, fair enough - things have worked out for the best with Slot. But at the time, most of us wanted Alonso, and Madrid likely played a significant role in why he didn’t come. The irony is that at a club like Madrid, even the most promising managers are only ever one bad run away from being discarded. If I were a manager, I’d avoid them entirely, not just because of the politics or underhanded tactics, but because there’s absolutely no loyalty there. Success is fleeting, and history shows they’ll move on without hesitation. It’s not a place where you build, it’s a place where you survive for as long as they let you.
8.) 10 May 2025 04:12:39
That is no suprise Ed. Bayern back at what they do best, buy the best talent in bundesliga and add them to their team. And some wonder why no other team can consistently challenge them in bundesliga. Musiala and Wirtz in one team are pretty good though.
06 May 2025 16:15:51
Ed, is it true that there is a small transfer window period for clubs competing in Club World Cup? Around 7-10 days?
{Ed001's Note - yes.}
1.) 06 May 2025 17:38:54
Change the rules to help Real Madrid?
I would never have believed it.
2.) 06 May 2025 17:48:29
I can imagine some Saudi clubs will be eager to splash the cash before the Club World Cup. It's their big moment.
3.) 06 May 2025 18:28:48
If LFC aren’t going to negotiate an €80 million early release fee for TAA then I’m done.
4.) 06 May 2025 18:52:53
Good, get TAA out of here asap for me. If we can get a couple of £m then it’s better than the kick in the nuts we are getting as it currently stands….
5.) 06 May 2025 19:29:28
We have a load of cast offs for sale if they are interested. 1 x Darwin 75m. 1x Jota 45m.
6.) 06 May 2025 21:00:54
Seems incredibly disrespectful to label players who have just helped us to a title as cast offs. They may not have had their best seasons but a title is an incredible and rare achievement for Liverpool in modern times and they have played their part.
7.) 06 May 2025 21:54:28
Livered, a Premier League title is an incredible and rare achievement for any team and player not just Liverpool.
I agree Jota and Nunez have played their part and scored incredibly important goals this season. Not every player can score and assist like Salah nor do they need to. You just need to have a Salah and the others need to chip in when necessary and Jota and Nunez have done just that.
That won’t stop some people wanting world class players in every position including the bench and completely ignoring how impossible that is.
8.) 06 May 2025 22:04:41
Vango - Jota a cast off. What a wool you are lad.
9.) 07 May 2025 00:06:02
Why0why he has been awful this season.
10.) 07 May 2025 06:49:16
While Jota is normally our best finisher his form this season is dire at 6 goals across the board, he's too lightweight and gets bullied off the ball, plus gives a load of stupid fouls away by running into the back of people, no wool here just an opinion, let's keep away from name calling too WoW.
11.) 07 May 2025 11:08:10
Jota is dog lad and using a wool as an insult is hilarious it is not an insult it like me calling you a scouser hoping to offend you? Most wools have family that originated in Liverpool the next generations just moved away for work, schooling or better quality housing. Please don’t think calling someone a wool is offensive as it’s not.
12.) 07 May 2025 14:10:38
Love Jota, but he has been mostly atrocious this season.
{Ed001's Note - that's harsh on atrocious! It just shows how much we have we can improve on for next season though, when you consider we spent most of the season with him and Nunez up top.}
13.) 08 May 2025 06:19:05
Would be funny if a Saudi club in CWC offer some serious money for Trent now before he officially sign his deal with Madrid just to screw Madrid over
30m transfer fee
500k pounds a week wage after tax.
10 Apr 2025 05:16:15
Ed, what is your views on PSG's Doue? Only watch a few of PSG matches this season though and he looks to me like a good young footballer. I would personally look at him if we want Diaz replacement or a no 10.
{Ed025's Note - i think you may have caught MOTD fever Mfahmee mate.. :)
1.) 10 Apr 2025 08:36:09
He was always going to be a top player, you could see that when he was at Rennes. Pretty sure all the big clubs knew about him when he went to psg, so it's not like he came out of nowhere.
2.) 10 Apr 2025 09:41:57
Forget doue, no chance of getting him. The one we should have went all in for was kvara. What a player.
{Ed001's Note - he only wanted to go to PSG.}
3.) 10 Apr 2025 10:18:35
Ed1, if Diaz goes I would assume Gakpo will get that LW job on starting lineup. Would Doue or Dortmund's Bynoe Gitten be a good replacement for Diaz? Although I would assume both want to start regularly.
{Ed001's Note - surely Chiesa just gets his chance then? What is the point in having him otherwise when he is primarily, at his best, a left winger.}
4.) 10 Apr 2025 10:42:25
He will stay you think Ed1? I thought that he does not play that much even when he is fit this season would mean that Slot doesn't really favour him. And if he stay, I assume he would be Salah deputy on RW as we don't have anyone to cover him.
{Ed001's Note - I expect so, he is able to cover all the positions up top.}
5.) 10 Apr 2025 10:21:17
I don't know Ed25, he looks pretty good when he came on as substitute against us. Although the whole PSG team were playing pretty good against us.
{Ed025's Note - he does look like a good player mate but i would need to see a lot more of him before i could judge..
6.) 10 Apr 2025 10:51:14
Agree with Ed here.
Think Chiesa will be better next season after that injury and lengthy lay off.
We need a left footed RW to compete/ rotate with Salah.
Doak maybe but injuries at Middlesborough has set him back.
7.) 10 Apr 2025 16:07:10
Doue is a serious player. We really need some flair in the team. If any of Diaz Jota Elliott Darwin Chiesa move on I hope we replace them with players like Doue. Young, fast and technical.
16 Mar 2025 12:47:05
Ed, is the rumor about us looking to bring in Guehi true? If it is true, then I would ask a question why. There is many other CB far better than him.
{Ed001's Note - not that I am aware of.}
1.) 16 Mar 2025 14:22:21
He’s very good on the ball but he is a bit all over the place positionally. Good CB but good enough for Liverpool? I think we need better. He’ll cost a bomb as well.
2.) 16 Mar 2025 15:31:50
Calling him mediocre would be generous. Poor in the air, physically weak, no positional sense and small for a centre back. I’d hope there’s nothing in it.
3.) 16 Mar 2025 18:55:43
Vicktor really only comments to say how crap players linked to Liverpool are….
4.) 16 Mar 2025 18:57:28
Overpriced English dirge. He would be a squad player at best.
After today we need Lions, not lambs-We have enough of those already.
5.) 16 Mar 2025 19:39:12
In fairness though Nutter74, Guehi is crap. As Vango so rightly said, over priced English dirge.
6.) 16 Mar 2025 19:40:01
I don’t think he’s that bad but he’ll be overpriced and better options exist.
7.) 16 Mar 2025 20:12:39
Huijsen is a far better and cheaper option. He is also much younger with a higher ceiling.
8.) 16 Mar 2025 21:54:38
I hope not. He's too short for a Liverpool CB.
9.) 16 Mar 2025 23:05:58
Given that a dirge is a lament at a funeral perhaps we could get him for a song? Sorry, couldn’t help it.
10.) 17 Mar 2025 08:06:10
I think we were talking to his agent - who is also Gordon’s agent (which makes more sense) .
11.) 17 Mar 2025 17:40:23
Isnt it about time that we about time that we got one of those Everton defenders, I quite like the size of O Brien.

Where do you stand on Curtis Jones Ed? I feel like every season I'm looking forward to him taking that next step in his game. But somehow it feels like that never happen. I honestly feel that I would sell him over Elliot at this point. I feel like if given chances, Elliot could take that next step in his game which Jones couldn't.
{Ed001's Note - after his performance against Chelsea, I would consider selling him to be honest. I don't care that we had won the league, when you are a player fighting for a place and clearly a back up, you should be giving your all in every game to try and win that first team spot. Instead he was not tracking back, not working hard and was instead strolling around like he was on his holidays. That is not the right attitude for a player who is on the fringes of the team.}
1.) 14 May 2025 08:15:44
I would sell Jones before Elliot, Absolutely. Jones is so overrated its baffling. He holds on to the ball like he is some prime Kaka and Zidane who could resist some 10 players. In an ideal world we should sell both and get the players Slot wants.
2.) 14 May 2025 08:21:26
What happens if the players Slot wants aren't the players that certain posters want?
3.) 14 May 2025 08:35:17
I personally rate Jones and he had a much better game vs Arsenal, I think Slot rates him too so he ain't going nowhere imo.
Elliot looks like he has been playing with 2 cement Blocks tied to his feet, he is so slow its unbelievable to say he is better than anyone.
4.) 14 May 2025 08:51:23
Arne
Both players are slow if you’re honest.
5.) 14 May 2025 09:40:19
Both are squad players, nothing more. Jones is no longer a kid but hasn't improved, in my opinion. Elliott, I've said many times, I've no idea what is position is. He doesn't have pace to play out wide, or the physicality to play centre mid. It wouldn't bother me if they were both moved on, but I don't think that's going to happen.
6.) 14 May 2025 09:41:45
Sounds similar to when Gerrard was asked where he stood on Phil Neville. his knee ??.
7.) 14 May 2025 10:21:36
I think he feels he is better than he really is. Having self confidence is good but his is bordering on cockiness.
You wouldn't find me complaining if he is sold.
8.) 14 May 2025 10:37:26
Remember we still need a bench, if a midfielder is brought in it will be because Slot doesn't fancy bajetic for Gravenburch's role or possibly if endo moves on. Early rumours of elliot to forest would see a similar player brought in to rotate and impact off the bench.
9.) 14 May 2025 10:58:20
I think Jones is a good player, he has good skills n close control. n earlier in the season he was excellent, then he got his England game when he was MOM. after that he gone back to how he used to play. slow n not involved as much. but he is now in his 20s so looks like this is how he's going to be . but I'd still keep him n Elliot as squad players.
10.) 14 May 2025 11:07:03
With Nyoni waiting in the wings, I think he'll be a factor on which of the two (Jones and Elliott) is moved on. Then there is always the factor of what price Hughes and Ward place on them and see if any other teams bite. Historically, LFC are not exactly the easiest "sellers".
11.) 14 May 2025 11:12:33
Anyone seen the Amazong Klopp documentary? Do you remember what Klopp said about Jones?
12.) 14 May 2025 11:27:41
Ed001 I think Jones has all the attributes to be a world class midfielder but as I’ve said before he is just not learning from the same mistakes he keeps making. If he could just speed up his game and play the simple ball fast he would be so much better. I heard Joleon Lescott talking to Rio about coaching the England squad and he could not stop talking about Jones and how good he was he described him as Englands best number 6 and how he had everything.
13.) 14 May 2025 12:04:11
People complain about Jones not releasing the ball quickly enough but the fact is he is still one of the best midfielders we have for keeping possession under pressure. He is also a very good presser, has above average mobility and athleticism. He could stand to improve but as a squad player he is as good as it gets imo.
14.) 14 May 2025 12:27:46
I don't think Jones is going anywhere. Slot seems to trust him, with him usually being the first he turns to when any of the first choice midfielders is in need of a break. He does have his flaws but I think overall, he is a decent player and I wouldn't mind him as a squad option. I agree that he was a bit too lax against Chelsea but I thought he was alright against Arsenal.
15.) 14 May 2025 13:08:30
We’ll put @PB, agree with your appraisal of Curtis.
16.) 14 May 2025 13:36:52
Ed on that game alone, I agree. Jones was poor.
17.) 14 May 2025 16:06:03
We can’t sell the whole team at once.
I think we already know a few will be leaving. I think selling too many would be a mistake and leave us short as it will be expensive to sign someone better than Jones IMO.
12 May 2025 14:48:45
Ed, do you think that if Konate didn't want to sign a new contract and we are to sell him, we might go for 2 new CB? I do remember you said that the club seem to want 3 top CB instead of just 2. I personally don't think Quansah can be our 3rd choice CB if want to compete.
{Ed001's Note - yes.}
25 Apr 2025 10:05:40
Ed1, have you heard or watch River Plate Franco Mastantuono? Spelling might be wrong. He is supposed to be the next big thing from Argentina. Only 17 I think.
{Ed001's Note - no mate, I haven't seen anything other than a highlight reel.}
1.) 25 Apr 2025 10:47:20
Pretty sure all the big clubs in Europe are after him, never seen him play myself but he's considered the pick of Argentina's wonderkids. He does look way older than 17 though lol.
2.) 25 Apr 2025 11:37:08
If you want the next Wirtz for a third of the price, this kid is the one.
He has many suitors. And Chelsea's trafficking business is keen as usual.
3.) 25 Apr 2025 13:48:09
No worries Ed. I do read that plenty of big European club are interested in him. I would think he need to go to a smaller European club and play regularly first before considering big move to one of European big club. Plus, I don't think we have much history of success going after players straight from South American league.
Question Ed, do the rule where a player can only move from their country at certain age apply to Argentinian? Or do that rule only apply to Brazilian player only? Players need to be 18 years old if I'm not mistaken.
{Ed001's Note - it is nothing to do with the country of origin and all to do with child labour laws, so irrelevant which country they are from.}
07 Apr 2025 05:56:59
Ed1, would you say the performance that we see last match has been coming? We have been very subpar in last few weeks. And the way we have been playing has not been fluid like in the beginning of the season.
I have read Slot interview before Everton match and he said that its his fault that the squad has not been rotated enough and the lost to PSG followed by Newcastle might had had been cause by that. My concern is that, in the Everton match he kept picking pretty much the same team that lost to Newcastle bar Jones at RB. Would that be a problem or concern for you in the future?
{Ed001's Note - yes, it was clearly coming, we have been grinding out results and that can only last a short. It is a real worry how little Slot trusts his squad, we aim to go as far as we can in 4 competitions each season, so you need to have players in and around the team that you trust to step in and give the first choice players a rest.}
1.) 07 Apr 2025 09:24:31
Ed, and he picked the same team again vs Fulham hence, even he doesn't believe what he is saying regarding the need to rotate more. I can understand not trusting some players in your squad BUT to not trust them at all? Sorry, that is a red flag for me. Klopp didn't trust all hi players BUT at least he coached them up to play for him and brought the best out of those he didn't trust till he sold them.
And wow, who knew? IMO, we were a lot better when Elliott came on for the knackered Szobo who has needed a blow wor keeks now and we looked a lot better. Also, notice how well Elliott and Bradley where combining well with Samah and the gaps were opening up, something Salah had missed with both Trent and Bradlety out and Szobo knackered. If I can see that then, what is Slot doing/ seeing?
2.) 07 Apr 2025 08:43:08
Eds1 so if he doesn’t trust them then why did we sign anyone in the Jan window. It’s not like he didn’t know who he didn’t trust back then.
{Ed001's Note - that would be a question for Hughes to answer.}
3.) 07 Apr 2025 08:56:07
What do you think Ed, it is still the fatigue for you that’s throwing everything out of sync?
Shouldn’t there be any conditioning of some sort for these though; it’s a worry that even with lesser number of games, it does not appear that the guys are able to play properly.
{Ed001's Note - no, it is not fatigue right now, it is partly complacency and partly other managers being able to figure out Slot's tactical set up. They all know now that they can bully us in midfield with pace and power and we will struggle.}
4.) 07 Apr 2025 10:44:17
Yep, every opposition manager is setting up man for man and beating us physically. They seemed a little shocked by the audacity of it.
5.) 07 Apr 2025 10:18:24
So ed surely it would make sense to play endo as he is our only midfielder who is robust and up for the battle on the bench.
{Ed001's Note - I have made my feelings clear on that and game after game has cried out for someone like him to play.}
6.) 07 Apr 2025 10:45:06
Hell Ed01, but don't you think us struggling is due to a lack of rotation for ex. Endo (who is physical) and Elliott (both physical and lad technical) in midfield. I say this cos fine, it may not just be fatigue per se and indeed teams will figure you out cos that's how things work.
However, I think rotating can still be used tactically cos if you bring in an Elliott for Szobo for ex., that is also a way to give the oppo. something else to think about in midfield hence we can play a diff. way esp; in the press hence, killing two birds (oppo. tactics and potential fatigue) with one stone?
{Ed001's Note - yes, that would be a way of dealing with it. There have been a lot of games the team looked jaded and a freshening up of the team would help.}
7.) 07 Apr 2025 11:44:17
Ed, got a feeling that Slot will just stick with the same lineup in the next game. Probably Bradley in at RB as one changes. Does he doesn't see that we need someone like Endo in the middle? Or he wanted to stick to his believe that having more playmaker in midfield is more important? Then it make me wonder why Elliot doesn't play much.
{Ed001's Note - to be fair, he has been able to get away without a powerhouse in midfield for most of the season. That has probably reinforced his belief that it is not needed, I am just hoping he is not too stubborn to realise that it is needed when he sits down and analyses the season.}
8.) 07 Apr 2025 11:50:37
Which is a bit weird isn’t it Ed mate, because in the first half of the season it looked like Slot was able to make adjustments on the fly; what gives you think?
{Ed001's Note - he is still making adjustments, he just seems to be waiting until half time now. The changes he made worked, but a lot of them should have been possible during the first half - particularly pushing Jones on like Trent, as that is the way we played most of the season.}
9.) 07 Apr 2025 12:41:06
Thanks fr the response, Ed01. As you said, our players just look jaded at times esp. in the first half till the changes come. And I agree with @mfahmee2, I think bar Bradley at RB, Slot will play the same 11 from the start. let's just get the title over the line and go from there. Personally, I think if we win our next two games, it's done.

Ed, looking at the news and rumor recently, it looks like Kerkez is the 1st pick for the LB position. I know you are not fan of him and preferred someone like Hato. But putting aside him saying he is a Man Utd fan and he doesn't want to come to Liverpool weeks ago, ability wise will he be a good addition to our team?
{Ed001's Note - depends on how Slot wants to play, he would need to grow and improve a lot on the defensive side and change his style of play if he wants anything other than a flying wing-back type.}
1.) 20 Mar 2025 12:40:07
Doesn’t matter how much ability he’s got or what the papers say, he doesn’t want to play for us and he has probably cooked his goose with half the fans ( me anyway) if a player came out as a Liverpool fan saying he didn’t want to play for Utd I’d expect him not to. Same as I expect kerkez not to play for us.
2.) 20 Mar 2025 13:19:39
Couldnt care less who he supports once he's a good player.
3.) 20 Mar 2025 13:34:15
Tend to agree with you Scouse John. If someone says they don’t want to play for us or trash talks us, I’m of the view we should never waste time on them. So that goes for Ola Aina, Jonathan David, Christian Pulisic, Ousmane Dembele and this lad. Not that I can remotely see us lashing out £40m+ on a fullback when there maybe other more pressing and expensive priorities.
4.) 20 Mar 2025 13:37:09
Ed, you think the interest is there? Based on the paper, it looks like he is the first choice LB followed by Hato. And it seems that we are interested in more than one Bournemoth players. Huijsen is prize one, follow by Kerkez, Semenyo and Zabarnyi. Don't know if that is because of Hughes use to work there or there is genuine interest those four players.
{Ed001's Note - there is genuine interest in the first two, I don't know about the latter pair though.}
5.) 20 Mar 2025 13:42:05
He didn't exactly say he never wants to play for us. Was more he was asked during the January transfer window, and said no basically he wasn't coming to us during the window. Which turned out to be 100% facts!
6.) 20 Mar 2025 14:21:33
The latter two Ed, are they good enough? Never really rate Semenyo to be honest. Don't think he has good enough end product like most wingers these days. Don't know much about Zabarnyi though. Its either he is good or Huijsen make him look good.
{Ed001's Note - not a fan of those 2 either, Premier level but not top end level.}
7.) 20 Mar 2025 16:19:52
A lot of these LB's we are being looked at in the PL like Robinson and Kerkez are not good defensively IMO so they are essentially not being asked to defend and rather bomb forward every time they get. We're going to need better options who can do both and neither of them can, IMO.
8.) 20 Mar 2025 16:40:05
Kerkez and Semenyo are playing at their level. They should not be considered by Hughes. If they are, it is a massive indication of how unfit for the job he is.
9.) 20 Mar 2025 17:12:47
They are Hughes level.
10.) 20 Mar 2025 19:54:43
these things really do take a life of their own. and amazing how history changes and then gets turned into a narrative.
Kerkez was was on youtube channel and a subscriber was commenting for him to ditch bournemouth for liverpool. Bear in mind this was in January window. Kerkez then said "I will not go to Liverpool. For everyone listening, I will not go to Liverpool"
That isn't the same as "I don't want to play for Liverpool because I am a man United fan" as it seems to have turned to based on these comments lol.
People can interpret the way they want to, but you can't just change history and make up what was said. My interpretation is that he was saying he won't be moving to Liverpool in January.

You do have a point Ed. If we are making too many changes to the squad, if feels like we are doing what Chelsea is doing. And they are struggling.
If we exclude the player who can't be mentioned, who do you think out of the name mentioned are the best choice?
{Ed001's Note - I haven't seen enough of those to judge them at all mate. Sorry.}
15 May 2025 15:22:19
You only expected one CB Ed? I thought club wanted at least 3 top class CB in the squad. One to replace Konate and one to replace Virgil in the future. I really can't see Quansah as the 3rd choice CB, I don't think he is good enough.
Good to know the name of the player Ed. You didn't say the name directly so finger cross. Wolves actually got good players in each positions. Agbadou, Joao Gomes and Cunha. They should be higher in the table.
{Ed001's Note - there are a lot of players we need and I expect Hato to be brought in, who can also cover centre-back.}
13 May 2025 11:44:03
Ed, seeing that Trent is gone, how is our situation with HG rules? Do we need to add more HG players or are we still okay on that rules?
{Ed001's Note - it only means we have to leave space in the squad, but we can use under 21 players to fill gaps, as should happen more anyway.}
10 May 2025 12:47:24
What about Pablo Barrios Ed? Play for Athletico Madrid, still young at 21 years old. I remembered Ed002 once said we have look at him. Have you seen him play?
{Ed001's Note - I haven't seen him play that I can remember sorry.}
10 May 2025 10:51:27
Well Chelsea could give more money and probably more 1st team opportunities. You know what money can do to these young footballers.
14 May 2025 12:28:15
Good one there Ed25. Arteta sure is one funny guy. Its a good result for us, considering the players and manager are already in holiday mode.
{Ed025's Note - yeah Mfahmee they were playing in flip-flops mate...and who can blame them..
14 May 2025 08:16:29
Is there a miscommunication between the medic team and coaching team? He isn't supposed to stand on his own after that kind of collision. Let alone staying on the pitch and keep playing.
13 May 2025 13:11:33
Do you have any other players that has the same style of play as Wirtz Ed? I've watch Leverkusen at times last year and Wirtz really stood out. The way he can thread that final passes and through ball is so good. Shame that he always going to end up Bayern. Really think he can elevate our team to the next level.
{Ed001's Note - there isn't really anyone else truly like him, Cherki would be the closest I guess. Similar kind of technical level and if someone could get Cherki working for the team, he would be sensational, but he just seems to want to float around like Pogba did and be a highlight reel hero.}
13 May 2025 05:11:26
Ed, a lot of journalist saying Kerkez is the preferred option for the LB and Frimpong as RB option. Do you think it would be better to go for a more defensive LB in Hato instead of Kerkez if we are going after Frimpong?
As having 2 fullback that love going forward will put a lot of pressure on our CB. Van Dijk are not getting younger and having 2 attacking fullback would left a lot of spaces for our opponents to counter.
{Ed001's Note - I am not really that big a fan of Kerkez, so yes. It just worries me, on top of his positional woes and inconsistent delivery, that every match sees him go down with cramp and be out on his feet after 75-80 mins.}
