Just want to say we're still in a very good position in the league. When city were blowing teams away earlier in the season and above us in the league, I was hoping we could be within a point or 2 of them come March.

Now that we're in March, they are back to being 1 point ahead of us. We have to play Burnley next and it's the first game that I will be attending this season. I will be in full voice supporting our team on Sunday, we need the support now more than ever.

Still a long way to go in the title race yet and there will be a few twists and turns along the way.

I am disappointed with the result yesterday but, overall I'm happy with the season so far, take it 1 game at a time now, don't worry about what city are doing because we can't control that. Focus on what we can control and that is getting behind the team 100% for the remainder of the season.

Spot on, OP. Officially, we are in a 9 game season right now where we have to win ALL our games, plain and simple. I know that has been the approach all season long and it has gotten us this far, worts and all. Starting with Burnley, we got to bring the heat from the blast of the first whistle. Fans need to be on it like they were vs Watford and bring the noise cos we 're going to need EVERYONE from now on if we want to bring this baby home and I know we can. LET'S GO!

{Ed025's Note - i dont think you will need to win all your games redwolf, liverpool and city will both drop points i can assure you and its the one who drops the least that will triumph, city have looked a bit jaded lately and with the FA cup and CL as well as the league its bound to take its toll mate...this is going to the wire..

2.) 04 Mar 2019 17:23:05
Having looked at the fixtures I honestly feel City have a good chance of winning every league game they have left, especially if teams go in with the attitude of Bournemouth.

The only hope I have is if they reach CL final but actually that could affect us as well if we reach at least semis.

Fingers crossed the miracle happens though!

3.) 04 Mar 2019 17:44:30
What if city win all there remaining games Red wold 🤔🤔.
It’s mathematucally out of our hands!

{Ed025's Note - they wont..

4.) 04 Mar 2019 18:17:44
Oh, I believe you, Ed025. I just framed it that way cos that is the mindset we as a team and a fanbase need to have. 1jj, I ain't buying that for a second, mate. Even Pep disagrees with you. He is no fool. He sees his players dropping like flies and knows that the Utd game will be a barn-burner and teams like CP, Brighton, Burnley and even Spurs, will just let them have their way with them. B'mouth were poor more cos of their cowardly approach than anything else, as you say BUT I don't believe the teams I mentioned are going to lay down and take it like they did esp. not Utd and Spurs. However, it all starts with us, tho. Keep the faith, man.

5.) 04 Mar 2019 19:22:50
Harry if City win all their games then they win and hats off to them. What are you going to do? Cry about it?

01 Mar 2019 01:57:23
*Sent too early.

Pivotal games that season. His motivation for us to win the title this season (against the same challenge, only this time probably a better team) is most definitely more than anyone else in our squad. Even if he doesn't play every game, his passion and determination can help the team over our next 10 games.

Let's all get behind Hendo and the team til the end of the season and hopefully we'll see him lift the trophy at the end.

RobbosPress

1.) 01 Mar 2019 08:26:50
He deserves it, no question. I feel his playing role in the side has diminishing gradually with Fabinho coming in, but his influence on this squad hasn’t. He’s been a real role model and helped set the standards and behaviours for the rest of the team to follow, much like Milner, as both of them put the team before self.

It would be fantastic to see him lift the Prem.

2.) 01 Mar 2019 10:59:50
When lallana comes on in the champions league final I got very nervous and increasingly pissed off with him. When Sturridge comes on in the 20th minute for firmino I'm punching the arm rest but when Henderson comes on I think "sweet, that sures us up" good little player, great captain, hope he lifts the Premier league.

01 Mar 2019 01:50:19
I've just had a debate with a guy in work about the captaincy at Liverpool. It's been hotly debated by every man, woman, child and their dog by now. I still feel Hendo is the right man for the job.

One thing that I never really thought of before until tonight was, Hendo is the only regular starter for us now that was a regular starter back in 13/ 14. Going back to then, how many of you guys thought Hendo's suspension was a major factor on where the title ended up that season?

I feel that, his experience of getting so close and not being able to play some.

RobbosPress

1.) 01 Mar 2019 07:27:47
definitely a factor. as his engine helped cover up the liability / anchoe that stevie had become. Also it's easy to forget the kind of midfielder he was. Hendo was far more creative, and attack-minded than he gets credit for.

2.) 01 Mar 2019 20:04:27
Hendo rose to the capt. ship of LFC after rising above so many obstacles like almost getting shot of to Fulham by BR for the sake of the supremely inferior Joe Allen, willing to play anywhere to help the team, working hard on his game to improve, leading by example and sacrificing his position on the team to play a diff. position for the sake of the team.

That is capt. material right there and I am chuffed to bits that he is LFC capt. and him lifting that PL title if it happens, will be the crown jewel on a career where he kept shutting up his critics and achieving things people never thought he could.

27 Feb 2019 02:53:51
Ed1, what's your opinion on our current situation? Do you think we've been found out?

Maybe it's confidence within the team?

Are players confused on tactics?

My honest opinion, I think injuries hit us bad at a time we were hitting good form and as a knock on effect, it has maybe took a bit of confidence out of the team.

I remember last season you said klopp didn't trust his substitutions, has he maybe lost confidence in the bench at this crucial time of the season?

I'm not trying to be negative, just a bit confused as to what has happened.

RobbosPress

{Ed001's Note - Klopp played it safe as he has a terrible record at Old Trafford, that is all that happened. The players had all gone in there determined not to lose, the team was picked not to lose and then, when the chance was there to do more, no one was able to shake off the mindset, especially Klopp. It might turn out to be the point that makes the difference at the end of the season.}

1.) 27 Feb 2019 04:11:55
Klopp has been playing safe since the start of the season and not just at OT. He played safe against City who he has the best record for any manager. Our mentality of “not to lose” is one aspect of the change in our style to play. We have hardly blown teams away (which includes relegation fodder as well)
I am not sure why he can’t trust his substitutes. Most of those are his own purchases and some are on extended contracts given by him. This is not his first year for
Klopp. It’s his fourth. The team is his.
I have said below, the klopp of last year would have blown both City and UTD. As you know there is a huge amount of pressure on him to deliver the league and he has sacrificed all other trophies for this. That’s another reason for playing it safe.
We should have done the job at Ethihad in January and City would have given up on the league for CL.

{Ed001's Note - I am sorry but that is a lie. Not even in the slightest bit true and shows a complete lack of insight. We have not blown teams away because they are terrified of being blown away and all of them, except for 3, have just sat in deep and looked to stop Liverpool. Those that have not just sat deep are City, Spurs and Arsenal, who we did blow away.

As for the subs, one game he didn't trust his subs and you are now claiming that is every week. Nonsense. You have clearly just been waiting for a chance to whine as usual because he never bought the players you wanted, such as Kovacic.

What you said below was nonsense. Last season's team would have done nothing different, except conceded a hell of a lot more goals and thrown away more points.}

2.) 27 Feb 2019 04:40:45
Well I have no complaints in not buying Kovacic or Jorginho. Happy with Fabinho and Keita. Let’s agree to disagree there has been a change in the approach which is to play safe and not to lose.

{Ed001's Note - no let's not. Let's just accept you are talking out of your backside as we clearly have gone for it more by putting an extra man up top, which is the complete opposite of playing it safe.}

3.) 27 Feb 2019 04:42:06
I am sorry but when did we blew city away this season? Thanks to Mahrez it would have been a double over us! We were utter cautious on both the occasions against city. Thankfully Pep was also cautions this time around!

{Ed001's Note - I said we blew Arsenal away. Please just stop now. All you do is overreact like a teenager going through puberty. You really should have been called Kevin because that is exactly who you remind me of.}

4.) 27 Feb 2019 06:04:12
The klopp of last year had liverpool scraping 4th. The klopp of this year had liverpool fighting for the title. Think about it.

5.) 27 Feb 2019 06:41:53
The klopp of last year did not had Keita, Fabinho, Allison, Shaqiri and Gomez.
Now add that with high counter press. Think about it.

6.) 27 Feb 2019 06:47:05
'We should have done the job at Ethihad in January and City would have given up on the league for CL. '

Lol what makes you think City would've given up in January if they lost to us? come off it Harry, they'd of kept trying no matter what. We didn't win but guess what? we're still 1st mate, enjoy it, stop moaning and enjoy the moment!

It really baffles me when people are having nothing but digs at the team when we're doing bloody brilliant! this is the finest season we've had in a very long time, people should be a lot happier.

7.) 27 Feb 2019 06:47:26
Yes Harry, don’t make a Burke of yourself 😀.

8.) 27 Feb 2019 06:49:50
Hi Harry 👋.

9.) 27 Feb 2019 07:43:43
Great to hear from you Harrry. All opinions welcome!

10.) 27 Feb 2019 08:47:53
Oh dear Harry 🤣.

11.) 27 Feb 2019 09:11:29
Salah
City were on the back foot and a win at ethihad would open up 10 points gap which would have shifted their priorities to CL. We gifted them the win by playing negative football and we started slipping form there.
Had we won at Ethihad we wouldn’t have dropped our head against Leicester and Westham!

12.) 27 Feb 2019 09:14:08
Hey Irish
Always liked you. One of the few guys who would trade anything for trophies 😀😀😀.

13.) 27 Feb 2019 10:33:03
added 4 players and an academy player that has turned us into title contenders. I'll take that.

14.) 27 Feb 2019 12:47:49
"I am not sure why he can’t trust his substitutes. Most of those are his own purchases and some are on extended contracts given by him. "

Huh? Sunday's 7 subs: Mignolet, Trent, Keita, Lallana, Shaqiri, Origi, Sturridge.
Players signed by Klopp: 2
Players on long-term contracts: 3

I'm no mathematician, but 2/ 7 and 3/ 7 = uhm.

15.) 27 Feb 2019 14:06:09
How do you know we wouldn't of dropped our heads against them Harry? You're just playing guess work at the moment mate.

10 Jan 2019 01:27:08
Ed1, Damien Duff is a player I loved, I remember him playing for Blackburn and then went to Chelsea at a time when I would have loved him to join Liverpool.

Was Liverpool ever interested in him?

Also, if he isn't on your player profile list, can you do one on him when you've got through the rest? Thanks.

RobbosPress

{Ed001's Note - we tried to buy him when he went to Chelsea. I have added him to the list.}

1.) 10 Jan 2019 09:00:29
Didn’t we show an interest before he ruined himself at Newcastle?

2.) 10 Jan 2019 09:23:58
I saw him in a pub once. Chelsea had just been confirmed champions and he was out with a friend. If I recall correctly, he was injured at the time. I didn't speak to him, he was surrounded by people congratulating him. It sticks in my mind mainly because my GF was telling her dad that she'd seen him - I had to tell her who he was, but she didn't quite remember so she told her dad she'd seen Donald Duck of Chelsea.

Seemed a nice guy, though - had all the time in the World for everyone, even though he looked as if he was just out for a quiet drink.

3.) 10 Jan 2019 11:34:50
Duffer was a very good player, just a shame he was injured quite a lot
Played against him a few times as a kid, he stood out then big time
We also happen to share the exact same birth date

That's my lame claim to fame 🙄.

4.) 10 Jan 2019 11:47:22
I think it's quite easy to forget just how good he was. He looked like the sky was the limit at Blackburn, so it was no surprise that Chelsea paid such a big fee as soon as they entered the Abramovich era (didn't he sign at the same time Lampard did? ) .

He would have been great for us at that time.

5.) 10 Jan 2019 13:36:48
An Irish legend, time for everyone, always free to give some advice he's a gent. He's since gone on to coach the youth teams at Shamrock rovers back in Dublin, hauling the kids in at 6am for training before school (anyone who follows the LOI knows why this is necessary, skills gap etc etc) I think he's been recently offered a similar role at Celtic. Always would have wondered what would have happened if he'd signed for us and stayed injury free.

6.) 10 Jan 2019 17:10:53
He was at rivers I think he's now at celtic u21s

Not 100% on that one tho.

Nice 1 ed25. Imagine what he could have done at Southampton when they had just bought VVD.

RobbosPress

{Ed025's Note - they have had some very good players robbo, their scouting network is very good but it must be frustrating for their supporters when moneybags liverpool just come and pillage all their players mate..

Well said port red. Not to go against anything the OP said but, if Barcelona are trying to call us out on prices for their reserves, they might want to take a step back and look at the 6 times European Champions record of selling them OUR reserves.

If city win the fa cup and the league, it would be us and city as we would 2nd, what a curtain raiser that would be. Hopefully it's us v Watford though.

Brilliant review Seano. Love the line at the end "Sunday looms, and sure it's seems unlikely, but stranger things have happened. Tonight's comeback just shows that it's not over til it's over.
