I've just heard that Arne Slot flew into Liverpool on a KLM flight this afternoon.
My mate asked for his autograph but it turned out to be Michael Van Gerwen on his way to the M&S Bank Arena.

Rigsby

1.) 25 Apr 2024 18:29:21
Michael Van Gerwen is still a good autograph.

I went up for an autograph of someone I thought was Arne Slot and they wrote Terry Watson.

Once I saw my mistake in writing, I said "Thanks very much Terry" and cooly walked away.

I'm now trying to sell an authentic Terry Watson signed Liverpool Shirt.

{Ed025's Note - love it Davey..

2.) 25 Apr 2024 18:50:48
Is the shirt authentic or is it the authentic Terry Watson, Davey?

3.) 25 Apr 2024 18:53:55
Ed025 looking for the bald Derby next season? I want them to bang heads atleast once???.

{Ed025's Note - it would look like a Right said Fred concert Liverbird, or even a Dolly Parton tribute act mate.. :)

4.) 25 Apr 2024 19:28:45
Not THE Terry Watson, surely?

5.) 25 Apr 2024 20:08:56
The Shiny Derby, more like it.

6.) 25 Apr 2024 20:15:22
Went to see Hawkwind at the empire in the eighties got talking to some random hippie with two cute looking females told me he was in the band so as you do knew he was performing the art a bit so concurred and asked him to sign a poster turns out it was Alan Davies still got the poster somewhere anyone interested I'll swap for anything random.

7.) 25 Apr 2024 22:28:38
Well Rigsby, Terry Watson is a make believe character I made up for comedic purposes so if you are genuinely bidding for a Liverpool signed shirt by Terry Watson, I suppose I'm probably liable to say that only the shirt is authentic.

8.) 26 Apr 2024 07:36:49
I know, I was joking, Davey.
But I'm sure we once had an interest in a Terry Watson but FSG wouldn't release the funds to land him. Skinflints.

Klopp's biggest problem has been Guardiola and the players he has at City. But I reckon Guardiola would say his biggest problem whilst at City has been Klopp and his Liverpool team.

Rigsby

1.) 16 Apr 2024 13:45:22
So true.

2.) 16 Apr 2024 15:57:13
Absolutely, Rigsby. Klopp has beaten Pep to win trophies or has won trophies before he did. Also, Klopp has the best head to head vs Pep out of any manager Pep has faced. He made the City/ Liverpool games evenly matched despite all the disadvantages he had. Klopp gets all the credit for that as well as the players.

Klopp and LFC have given Pep and City fits thru out their time in the PL and yeah, Pep won more BUT that is expected cos he is well, given more. But Klopp's trophy record at LFC is what a lot of these rival fans would kill for so in the end, Klopp is his kryptonite. Just my take.

3.) 16 Apr 2024 16:31:55
I wonder for how much longer Guardiola will stay at City.

{Ed002's Note - Not too much longer.}

4.) 16 Apr 2024 16:34:41
Just think, had we not won it in 2020, City would be going for seven in a row! Klopp deserves huge credit for that. And had it not been for Guardiola and the money at City we could be going for our fourth title under Klopp. We might have had two more CL trophies were it not for Real Madrid, too.
I just can't help but look at what Klopp has achieved for us and what we are up against rather than what he didn't achieve.
One of the reasons we are all so disappointed is because of the expectations we now have under Klopp.

5.) 16 Apr 2024 17:11:12
That sounds like something is afoot for this summer. ?.

6.) 16 Apr 2024 18:12:00
Speaking way too much sense, Rigsby. Stop it!

7.) 17 Apr 2024 09:27:46
What advantages does city have may I know? About to win a treble with Rodri, Kovacic and Mateus Nunes lol. They have a flop GK, A flop Grealish, An injury prone KDB, an overrated Foden and An overrated walker (accordint to this page) .
Pep would win atleast 3 PL titles with a prime Fabinho, Salah, Mane, Bobby, VVD, Alli, Robbo and Trent.
More importantly Guardiola wouldn't let his assistant to run a football club. he ofeten gets criticized for over complicating while royally ignoring how Klopp is obsessed with playing the iverted nonsense.

8.) 18 Apr 2024 00:34:14
Beekeeper you are missing the point.

Guardiola would never have had Salah, Mane, Bobby, Firmino, Robbo or Trent. They were all bought on a budget or from the academy and turned into great players. He would’ve signed proven world class players for much more money because he had it to spend.

He might have signed Ali and VVD but he wouldn’t have had to sell one of his best players in order to do it.

It’s absolutely undeniable that any City manager has had a huge financial, competitive advantage since the sheik took over. Before Pep, City won the league with Mancini and Pellegrini. Before Klopp Liverpool had one decent season in 2013-2014 where we came close but other than that we were generally 4th to 8th place in the league.

Klopp took us from relative obscurity with the odd decent cup run, hoping to get into the top 4 every season to the best team in Europe.

Pep took an already brilliant City team, spent loads of money on it and won more stuff.

There’s no comparison between the two.

9.) 18 Apr 2024 09:12:46
You don't know about City's funds then, Beekeeper?
How did they end up with Rodri, Kovacic, Nunes, Ederson, Grealish and Walker? I notice that you conveniently left out Bernardo Silva and Harland. Two of their most influential players this season.
If you think Guardiola would win at least three PL titles at Liverpool then I could agree with you because that would mean he wouldn't be City boss and that was one of my points.
The other point being the money that he has had to spend which you also proved by naming just some of his big money signings.
I stand by my assumption that Liverpool could easily have won two more PL titles had City not had Guardiola and had he not had the money he has spent.

I think I've discovered the root of Chelsea's problems. They're only playing with Gusto for less than an hour.

Rigsby

1.) 25 Sep 2023 00:40:27
Not boehley?

2.) 25 Sep 2023 00:45:04
ROFL.

I'm bringing it back.

3.) 25 Sep 2023 08:26:37
Rigsby, I see what you did there. Bravo, sir.

4.) 25 Sep 2023 10:47:39
Yeah Rigsby no matter how bad things might seem, if we look in the right spot we can always find silva linings, but after that performance I think any honest chelsea fan will be clutching at straws too.

Why don't we sell Salah for £200m and get them to loan him back to us for two seasons?

Rigsby

1.) 02 Sep 2023 03:54:42
What we want is for Mo to have a stellar season with us, taking us to a PL and Europa double and then the Saudi’s can come back with an offer of £ 250+ million.

They want - we don’t have to sell - and I’m tired of their low balling already. Mo would have more of a profile in the Arabic countries than Mbappe. From our perspective he’s worth even more to Al-Itihad since Kylian said ‘no thanks’.

2.) 02 Sep 2023 06:53:22
Get mo to sign a 1 year extension between now and Xmas securing his value next summer by that time we should have had plenty of time to find a suitable replacement

The midfield will have had a full season to gel
We can then go out and get the heir to van dijk in defence
Get the heir to fabinho in midfield ( unless bajetic lays down the gauntlet this year)
Whilst also replacing salah and get the spine of the team sorted for the next4/ 5 years and hope the club have learned lessons not to let the team stagnate no matter how good they are a gentle freshen up every summer is a must when at the top of the game .

Whilst enjoying mo for another year and when the man goes let’s celebrate what a true great of the modern game we have had .

I remember 1st time I seen him on tele playing for fc Basel and I thought he was quality . Didn’t think he would become the superstar he has

Made up he will be with us for 1 more year ??.

3.) 02 Sep 2023 09:41:03
OP respectfully, that is a non starter for me. They want him. We will sell him on our terms cos he signed a lucrative extension. No loans. No buyback. No nothing. The Saudis can do one and come back next summer.

I've seen a few posts about Connor Bradley's back but Ironside scored against Everton tonight and he even couldn't walk in the late 60s and early 70s.

Rigsby

1.) 31 Aug 2023 08:37:24
Think that probably says more about Everton's defence that they let a wheelchair stroll right through them.

2.) 31 Aug 2023 09:29:45
I'm predicting that Sheff Utd sign Brian Potter before Saturday and he scores for them on his debut.

3.) 31 Aug 2023 12:54:44
Ironside haha loved that Rigsby mate keep it up lad.

4.) 31 Aug 2023 15:13:02
I had to Google that result and scorer!

I thought maybe Jack Wheelchair was back playing again?.

Grobelaar was not better than Alisson. Not a chance.
I couldn't say that Clemence was.

Like it or not, it's the way we play. Our two fullbacks need to be creating chances by getting forward. Robertson should have put us one up today and then it's a different game. It's the chance we take but this season the midfield can't offer the same insurance when they do go.

I'm sure that it has crossed Klopp's mind about TAA playing in midfield but I'm also sure that Klopp would think it would weaken TAA's best attributes.

I think it's an achievement to be favourites for the League with 7 games to go after finishing fifth last season, starting this one with a new midfield and taking into account the seasons both City and Arsenal have had.
I've changed my mind, I think it is an overachievement.

Nevada, Klopp hasn't said he can't handle it and this season has not been a disaster. Far from it.
He has said he is tired but that doesn't mean he can't handle it. He needs a rest in the summer, that's it. You can't compare what he has said to Dalglish resigning. Dalglish had to deal with Hillsborough and the aftermath. He attended the funerals of those we lost. What effect do you think that had on him?
You're way off the mark comparing what Klopp has said and what Dalglish went through.

I know what you mean, Ed025 but I watch the games on TV with my lad now so any strong words have to been done under my breath. He's ok with the milder ones. For the Palace and Everton games he has disappeared to play on some device or other and can just switch off from the game.
I wish I could.

Rigsby

{Ed025's Note - my lads are both married with kids Rigsby and both red hot Liverpudlians mate, luckily they dont hear me so i get carte blanche in my house.. :)

That's a good point about interceptions, Nevada. I remember Sammy Lee saying his better performances were when he never had to make a tackle.
That said, all midfielders should be willing to tackle if they have to. They should all be able to pass the ball forwards. It annoys me to see the number of times I see midfielders not taking the ball on the half turn. And they should all be able to score a few goals.
I suppose I am old fashioned though.

It won't stop. It's human nature, John. People need someone or something to blame and lash out against when they are unhappy.
I like to think I'm not too bad but I have been known to shout at the TV ?.

Rigsby

{Ed025's Note - I swear a lot Rigsby...and it really helps mate.. :)
