Gomez injured ?.
1.) 15 Aug 2022 19:54:44
He's on the bench. Not a serious injury, just not fit to start. Probably doesn't help that he hasn't been good enough the last 2 years. Whereas Phillips has never let Klopp down and is virtually always available. This is why people wanted him to stay as 4th choice. Matip, Gomez and Konate are all injury prone and that will likely never change.
2.) 15 Aug 2022 22:14:07
Konate is not injury prone. I'm fairly sure this is his first injury since he's been at the club and it was an impact injury.
3.) 15 Aug 2022 22:35:53
Thunderbird2, Konate's injury record isn't very impressive.
In 19/ 20, he was out for almost 6 months.
20/ 21 was similar, injured for over 5 months with muscle injury.
4.) 15 Aug 2022 22:37:27
What kind of injury stops you starting a game but allows you to come on for 35 minutes?
5.) 16 Aug 2022 05:52:52
Gomez was excellent. No doubt he's ahead of Nat this season.
6.) 16 Aug 2022 09:12:05
It was nice to see Nat today.
7.) 16 Aug 2022 15:36:34
Faithworks. Nat was not good at all.
8.) 16 Aug 2022 19:59:32
To be honest I assumed when Gomez wasn't in the 11 that he was injured. I didn't even bother to look at the bench. Apparently Joe only trained once this week (Sunday)?
As for Nat, he was doing great until the goal then the wheels seemed to come off a bit. If he had been in line with VVD then Zaha would have been offside. It wasnt rocket science to play Zaha on the shoulder of our slowest CB.
9.) 17 Aug 2022 17:07:30
Nat held the ball too long and didn't look comfortable at all to me. He's a distant 5th choice imo. Did a job for us season before last but not good enough for us.
10.) 18 Aug 2022 08:39:49
Whilst Nat is down the pecking order, I don’t think we can blame him for the Palace game, I though the defence were given no protection, I thought Fab had a dreadful game, he was to blame for the first goal, his distribution was safe and sloppy at times and he seemed a yard off the game, I think Nat is an easy target because he’s not a big name in the team…. I also think for the first goal Virg should’ve moved closer to Nat as soon as Fab lost out in midfield.
11.) 18 Aug 2022 12:09:52
So your trying to tell me virg should have moved across and left the other side wide open when Nat was already there?
Virg done exactly what he should have done not leave his side of the pitch wide open until the last minute, Nat tried to move up for the offside when he shouldn’t and was totally at fault for very poor positioning in the first place.
25 Apr 2015 12:21:25
Assuming we don't get a CL spot (still clinging on to that bit of hope), what forwards can we attract to Liverpool that will want to come. Assume we move on Balo and Borini so £20 million max!
{Ed002's Note - Obviously the finances don't work like that, but Liverpool still have a firm interest in Ings and Vietto - plus Origi will be arriving.}
1.) 25 Apr 2015 14:00:52
I agree. Maybe i should not have put a figure in as such. With your contacts/opinion would you suggest which would be the better fit for Liverpool. Cheers
{Ed002's Note - I really don't know.}
2.) 25 Apr 2015 16:33:03
Ed do you no if Vietto will come or not without CL football?
{Ed002's Note - I really don't know.}
3.) 26 Apr 2015 01:16:54
no need to assume rover , we will be lucky to get 5th spot , BR and the players are half way to the beach , and we have switched off , its going to be Ings , why ? , he costs less .

Ok, so we are 2 weeks to Christmas! Hard to believe i know but i want you all to spare a thought for other people maybe outside your family circle this Christmas.
Over here in Northern Ireland a local radio station (Cool fm) run a mission Christmas every year. Last year they had requests for 5000 gifts for kids of all ages and sex that would have had nothing to open on Christmas Day. An awful thought for any kid i'm sure you agree. This year they have requests for close to 7000 gifts. It tells me how many families are struggling these days and need a little bit of human kindness.
On doing a bit of research i can tell you that loads of other local radio stations run similar projects all over the UK. The Salvation Army also run a Christmas appeal.
So when you venture out to the town for a bit of seasonal cheer maybe you can spare a thought for those not so fortunate as ourselves. Boots do great 3 for 2 offers for older kids, Smyths toys also! That extra £20/30 will make a huge difference to some youngster this year. Please if you can, do your bit.
Thanks for reading.
{Ed001's Note - I will put this on all 3 main pages so it can be seen, great idea mate.}

Top of the morning Ed02.
A question if you don't mind. When a transfer goes tits up as it has done recently (mentioning no names), Ayre seems to come in for a bit of stick/abuse. Some posters basically claim he is a poor negotiator and very slow in getting deals tied up. In your opinion, would this be a fair assessment? Or is he trying to do the best job he can under the financial constraints he is put under?
I remember a while back you mentioning Liverpool putting in bids way below the asking price therefore not even getting the other team to negotiate. Would they have been better of advised not to go for such players and save themselves from the embarrassment or is there always a chance, therefore worth a go so to speak?
Lastly, leading from the first 2 questions. If Chelsea had not have swooped for Salah would Liverpool have got their man for the price they offered (A third of the asking price?). I appreciate its a bit of a loaded question and I fully understand if you don't want to answer this bit.
{Ed002's Note - In my opinion the posters know nothing of the situation at all and as the new type of fan lives only in a blame culture, Mr Ayre becomes the target in such situations. These are the same people who want, Jones, Gerrard, Moses, Allen, Henderson, Johnson, Cissokho, Enrique, Sterling, Agger, Skrtel, Kirikou, Coates, etc., etc. out. There will be a process that decides what sort of money the club will be willing to pay for a player on a case-by-case basis. If an offer is only a third or so of what the selling club are looking for they would typically not be interested in any negotiations as it would be seen as futile. There will also be financial constraints that will need to be adhered to. Aside from interest from Newcastle there was also a bid made by another side for Salah - Liverpool would certainly not have gotten him for the amount they were offering. It was clear that they would have needed to go to Basel with a much improved offer.}
10 Jan 2014 21:59:42
Ed02. Have Napoli put a bid in for Agger. Has Agger turned it down? Thanks.
{Ed002's Note - I suspect that he will stay to the summer.}

Should I be wanting United to win tonight ?.
1.) 04 Dec 2024 18:33:24
I never can, Irish.
2.) 04 Dec 2024 18:38:26
Can't they both lose?
3.) 04 Dec 2024 19:11:29
Once Arsenal drop points I'll be happy.
4.) 04 Dec 2024 19:23:39
Mass brawl with multiple long suspensions for both teams?
5.) 04 Dec 2024 21:55:24
Looks like Arsenal are going to walk it. with Odeegard they look a beast.
6.) 04 Dec 2024 22:13:54
I'm not happy?.
7.) 05 Dec 2024 00:49:02
Arsenal’s play is akin to Stoke’s: foul players in the box from setpieces then score, time waste, dive, rinse and repeat. Also note they have another December in which their fixtures give them the most recovery time between games, and this is far from the first time this has happened. I’m not impressed by them at all. They do not get penalized when they should on the pitch, and they seem to be given a lot of liberties off it.

ED02
The patience of a saint, well most of the time. Sometimes a RTFP was required. What is a Gilfnard anyway? Occasionally the odd poster got it with both barrels, it was fun to read.
What the man brought to this forum can't be measured, not to mention his quirky sense of humour. I hope Sparky will be well looked after.
RIP ED02 or RTFP ?.
1.) 21 Nov 2024 09:08:46
I have not posted for years but I just wanted to say RIP ed002. I always think one of the greatest things you can give to people is time and he spent that time answering our questions for so many years with knowledge and humour.
2.) 21 Nov 2024 21:07:34
I think in more recent seasons he mellowed a little in terms of his answers as he could be cutting and take comments not meant personally as personal. Respected his knowledge and the info he gave us on a regular basis. A proper one-off.
01 Mar 2024 16:57:09
Any good news on our walking wounded ?.

1.) 01 Mar 2024 17:17:59
Nunez and Dom both trained yesterday and will be in the squad for the Forest match. Salah needs a few more days. No news on the rest.
2.) 01 Mar 2024 17:38:44
Thanks No14 ? and Markp ?.
3.) 01 Mar 2024 17:42:44
Endo, should be back Robertson and macalister have been sick, Mac trained Robbo didnt, should both be ok.
4.) 01 Mar 2024 20:59:45
1988Red the 1968 Copyright Act suggests that your username is close to the 30% rule lol however because you bring positive injury update info I'll let it slide but if I see a s on the end or your numbers drop. actually mate I am jealous because it looks cooler
Can't wait till kick off is the reason for my mindless behaviour.
5.) 01 Mar 2024 21:21:20
Sounds like we get Dom, Wataru and Darwin back - at least in the match day squad and we have Robbo and Macca available after being ill during the week.
Also sounded like (at the Press Conference that Mo should be back - again, at least in the match day squad - next weekend.
6.) 01 Mar 2024 22:54:31
We have gone from one extreme to another. Players coming back when half fit at best and now delaying until absolutely certain because of past mistakes.
7.) 02 Mar 2024 08:46:41
Klopp explained the whole injury status topic in his presser.
21 Feb 2024 07:13:24
Allison, Trent, Jones, Szobo, Thiago, Jota, Matip all out. Salah and Darwin both a concern.
The fact that we can still put a decent team out out is testament to the Stirling work Klopp has done. All other teams except City would just crumble in my opinion. By far the strongest squad we have ever had. Still need a few back ASAP and NO MORE INJURIES! We've had our fill, time to spread the love and see how City and Arsenal cope with 7/ 9 first team players out. It's only fair ?.
1.) 21 Feb 2024 07:21:34
Think credit must go to the younger players for stepping up and proving their worth but I do agree other than City other sides would falter
Up the pool.
2.) 21 Feb 2024 07:29:02
Completely agree Irish mate. We have had quite a number of injuries and despite that, the team we have been able to field can still beat any team in the league on our day. That’s fairly impressive I have to say. The injuries are now piling up but having Bajcetic back in full training last week with Szobo and Trent to return to first team training either this week or next would be a welcome boost. And of course the return of Bradley has really helped. If Salah and Nunez are back this week, maybe tonight. Then we should have enough to win all our games until the injury list eases mid to tail end of March. And yes, I’m including the City game in that statement.
3.) 21 Feb 2024 07:50:34
City and Arsenal have had big players missing it’s not just us.
4.) 21 Feb 2024 08:51:24
@Alonso, I think Baj is not yet back in full training. He's still following an individualized programme and has not yet joined the rest of the first team for training. I'm hoping that Salah and Nunez are back for the Cup final, if not the Luton game.
5.) 21 Feb 2024 08:54:31
scouse john L8 - you are right, Arsenal have had big players missing, as have other teams. They certainly have not had 7/ 8 big first team players all out at the same time.
We lost all our first choice strike force in one go last weekend.
Let's face it, the timing is not good.
6.) 21 Feb 2024 11:17:37
Scouse john L8, which big players are missing for City? And how many are they compared to ours?
7.) 21 Feb 2024 12:22:10
To be fair Thiago and Baj will manage 11 minutes between them this season. I don’t think that they should be considered as part of the first team squad this season. At least Baj has youth on his side.
8.) 21 Feb 2024 12:43:33
@Oli, I do like you as a poster but I think you'd need to read Scouse John's post a bit better. He said City "have had" big players missing. He's not talking currently. And so far this season, City have had Haaland, De Bruyne, Kovacic, Grealish, Ederson, Bernardo Silva, Rodri, Ake, Stones, and Doku missing at one point or another. They did have a blip earlier this season but they are mostly back now with most of their players fit. I think currently only Gvardiol and Grealish are missing but they have had big name players out for a few games this season already. It's unfortunate that ours is happening now.
15 Oct 2023 19:43:43
Good luck to Jordan Ibe at his new club. Hoping he can get some joy out of the game and more importantly be happy ??.
1.) 16 Oct 2023 08:19:46
Yeah I have to agree. Shame he didn't live up to the hype.
There's a lot of fans out there that see a player and within a few games are spouting off the world class nonsense.
Good luck to the fella hopefully he settles and progresses well.
2.) 16 Oct 2023 12:14:40
Im just happy he is back playing football again after all the off the field issues with his mental health happened. Ibe has been thru a lot in his young life and hopefully, he can find joy again doing what he loves. Top lad and always gave his best for the sirt when he played here, IMO.
3.) 16 Oct 2023 12:37:42
There’s a lot of people out there who write off 18 and 19 year olds too eh?
The Irish Rover's rumour replies
04 Dec 2024 19:12:08
So that’s a yes then ?. You always know when people in football are lying, their lips move.
04 Dec 2024 19:10:03
I love Bradley and I’m glad he’s at LFC, especially now if Trent does move, which is looking more likely day by day but let’s be real here there is no comparison between the two players. It’s why Klopp picked Trent, it’s why Slot picks Trent and it’s also why Madrid want him as well. Why don’t Madrid try to get Bradley if he is the better option? Sure he might cost a fee but his wages wouldn’t be anywhere near what Trent would demand.
Have to say I’m astonished that people think Bradley is the better option (Mizer excluded as he always had a pop at Trent) .
The only issue I have is can the club afford the high wage demands of all three players ?♂️.
27 Oct 2024 07:49:43
MK
It’s just varying opinions from different posters mate, nothing else. We all support the club but not everyone sings from the same hymn sheets. It’s not a surprise.
27 Aug 2024 08:41:28
Slot has won 2 games Firmane. A good start but let’s not get ahead of ourselves.
27 Aug 2024 08:38:02
It’s not that much of a difference ArAy when all things considered.
The Irish Rover's banter replies
07 Dec 2024 10:34:55
Well we definitely needed a midfielder WDW, that’s for sure. I’m not sure highlighting Slots success since he’s been here has anything to do with Hughes.
06 Dec 2024 13:37:16
I think all the players might get a rest tomorrow. Darragh might play havoc to sporting fixtures.
05 Dec 2024 16:42:13
It was a standard catch by any keeper. Appreciate you use any opportunity to have a go at Trent but you’re reaching here, even for you. Kelleher should have just collected it and then fell to the ground like every other keeper does to waste a bit of time.
{Ed001's Note - I don't know why anyone is bothering to reply - he is just trolling with sad pathetic attacks on Trent. It is tedious and he is embarrassing himself with his ridiculous attempts to blame Trent for everything.}
05 Dec 2024 13:37:23
He should have scored 2 last night or at the very least hit the target. He’s rash, a headless chicken. He is also a forward so he should be contributing goals . I don’t need XG nonsense to see what’s in front of me.
05 Dec 2024 07:05:17
It’s total bull is what it is JK. Nunez hasn’t progressed one bit since he joined and we are near mid way thru his third season. He’s fortunate other forwards are bailing him out.
