Gomez injured ?.
1.) 15 Aug 2022 19:54:44
He's on the bench. Not a serious injury, just not fit to start. Probably doesn't help that he hasn't been good enough the last 2 years. Whereas Phillips has never let Klopp down and is virtually always available. This is why people wanted him to stay as 4th choice. Matip, Gomez and Konate are all injury prone and that will likely never change.
2.) 15 Aug 2022 22:14:07
Konate is not injury prone. I'm fairly sure this is his first injury since he's been at the club and it was an impact injury.
3.) 15 Aug 2022 22:35:53
Thunderbird2, Konate's injury record isn't very impressive.
In 19/ 20, he was out for almost 6 months.
20/ 21 was similar, injured for over 5 months with muscle injury.
4.) 15 Aug 2022 22:37:27
What kind of injury stops you starting a game but allows you to come on for 35 minutes?
5.) 16 Aug 2022 05:52:52
Gomez was excellent. No doubt he's ahead of Nat this season.
6.) 16 Aug 2022 09:12:05
It was nice to see Nat today.
7.) 16 Aug 2022 15:36:34
Faithworks. Nat was not good at all.
8.) 16 Aug 2022 19:59:32
To be honest I assumed when Gomez wasn't in the 11 that he was injured. I didn't even bother to look at the bench. Apparently Joe only trained once this week (Sunday)?
As for Nat, he was doing great until the goal then the wheels seemed to come off a bit. If he had been in line with VVD then Zaha would have been offside. It wasnt rocket science to play Zaha on the shoulder of our slowest CB.
9.) 17 Aug 2022 17:07:30
Nat held the ball too long and didn't look comfortable at all to me. He's a distant 5th choice imo. Did a job for us season before last but not good enough for us.
10.) 18 Aug 2022 08:39:49
Whilst Nat is down the pecking order, I don’t think we can blame him for the Palace game, I though the defence were given no protection, I thought Fab had a dreadful game, he was to blame for the first goal, his distribution was safe and sloppy at times and he seemed a yard off the game, I think Nat is an easy target because he’s not a big name in the team…. I also think for the first goal Virg should’ve moved closer to Nat as soon as Fab lost out in midfield.
11.) 18 Aug 2022 12:09:52
So your trying to tell me virg should have moved across and left the other side wide open when Nat was already there?
Virg done exactly what he should have done not leave his side of the pitch wide open until the last minute, Nat tried to move up for the offside when he shouldn’t and was totally at fault for very poor positioning in the first place.

Assuming we don't get a CL spot (still clinging on to that bit of hope), what forwards can we attract to Liverpool that will want to come. Assume we move on Balo and Borini so £20 million max!
{Ed002's Note - Obviously the finances don't work like that, but Liverpool still have a firm interest in Ings and Vietto - plus Origi will be arriving.}
1.) 25 Apr 2015 14:00:52
I agree. Maybe i should not have put a figure in as such. With your contacts/opinion would you suggest which would be the better fit for Liverpool. Cheers
{Ed002's Note - I really don't know.}
2.) 25 Apr 2015 16:33:03
Ed do you no if Vietto will come or not without CL football?
{Ed002's Note - I really don't know.}
3.) 26 Apr 2015 01:16:54
no need to assume rover , we will be lucky to get 5th spot , BR and the players are half way to the beach , and we have switched off , its going to be Ings , why ? , he costs less .

Ok, so we are 2 weeks to Christmas! Hard to believe i know but i want you all to spare a thought for other people maybe outside your family circle this Christmas.
Over here in Northern Ireland a local radio station (Cool fm) run a mission Christmas every year. Last year they had requests for 5000 gifts for kids of all ages and sex that would have had nothing to open on Christmas Day. An awful thought for any kid i'm sure you agree. This year they have requests for close to 7000 gifts. It tells me how many families are struggling these days and need a little bit of human kindness.
On doing a bit of research i can tell you that loads of other local radio stations run similar projects all over the UK. The Salvation Army also run a Christmas appeal.
So when you venture out to the town for a bit of seasonal cheer maybe you can spare a thought for those not so fortunate as ourselves. Boots do great 3 for 2 offers for older kids, Smyths toys also! That extra £20/30 will make a huge difference to some youngster this year. Please if you can, do your bit.
Thanks for reading.
{Ed001's Note - I will put this on all 3 main pages so it can be seen, great idea mate.}

Top of the morning Ed02.
A question if you don't mind. When a transfer goes tits up as it has done recently (mentioning no names), Ayre seems to come in for a bit of stick/abuse. Some posters basically claim he is a poor negotiator and very slow in getting deals tied up. In your opinion, would this be a fair assessment? Or is he trying to do the best job he can under the financial constraints he is put under?
I remember a while back you mentioning Liverpool putting in bids way below the asking price therefore not even getting the other team to negotiate. Would they have been better of advised not to go for such players and save themselves from the embarrassment or is there always a chance, therefore worth a go so to speak?
Lastly, leading from the first 2 questions. If Chelsea had not have swooped for Salah would Liverpool have got their man for the price they offered (A third of the asking price?). I appreciate its a bit of a loaded question and I fully understand if you don't want to answer this bit.
{Ed002's Note - In my opinion the posters know nothing of the situation at all and as the new type of fan lives only in a blame culture, Mr Ayre becomes the target in such situations. These are the same people who want, Jones, Gerrard, Moses, Allen, Henderson, Johnson, Cissokho, Enrique, Sterling, Agger, Skrtel, Kirikou, Coates, etc., etc. out. There will be a process that decides what sort of money the club will be willing to pay for a player on a case-by-case basis. If an offer is only a third or so of what the selling club are looking for they would typically not be interested in any negotiations as it would be seen as futile. There will also be financial constraints that will need to be adhered to. Aside from interest from Newcastle there was also a bid made by another side for Salah - Liverpool would certainly not have gotten him for the amount they were offering. It was clear that they would have needed to go to Basel with a much improved offer.}

Ed02. Have Napoli put a bid in for Agger. Has Agger turned it down? Thanks.
{Ed002's Note - I suspect that he will stay to the summer.}

To be fair we’ve done rightly for a “bargain buying club” ?.
19 Feb 2025 13:13:17
I think we will be active in the Summer window regardless if the three players sign or not. Care to make a charity wager Viktor, put your money where your mouth is so to speak ?.
19 Feb 2025 10:42:58
A United supporter reffing a City v Liverpool game? Who does he favour there Viktor?
16 Feb 2025 18:02:40
That inch makes all the difference Ron ?.
16 Feb 2025 13:32:01
Is he much smaller than David Silva? Maybe that was too long ago as well?

Slot didn’t plan to sit back it was forced upon Liverpool due to how well PSG played and the inability of our forwards to hold onto the ball. It certainly wasn’t a park the bus plan from the start.

There would be more required than just sticking a mic on a ref. The culture of football would need to change. The things that make football, the passion, the excitement etc also create to its downfall where you have fans flicking the V sign to opposing fans, throwing items onto the pitch, players diving and cheating at every given opportunity, the chants from certain fans, how every single mistake is microscopically dissected to see if someone has made a mistake and that’s before we talk about abuse by players and managers to the ref. Sure even on this forum there is absolutely no respect for refs whatsoever, they are all corrupt and sh#te according to most. I would say with that sort of pressure and background it’s no wonder they struggle to do their job.
{Ed025's Note - some great points there Irish..
04 Mar 2025 19:01:14
Maybe managers and players should stop abusing the ref? You don’t ever see that in Rugby Union either. That might be a good place to start.
Maybe people missed were Slot says he wishes he acted differently and hopes he does in the future. He also didn’t deny using industrial language although the context differs slightly.

If Bradley even has the same career as Trent then we would be extremely fortunate as would Bradley. They are completely different players tho in the way they play the position. It’s not necessary to big up one player, meanwhile trashing another. Trent has been influential in the most successful Liverpool team we’ve had in 30 odd years. I’m sure Bradley would take that with both hands.
{Ed001's Note - well said.}
26 Feb 2025 07:24:35
He wasn’t too happy at the end of his Liverpool career, if you could call it that? You never know what the future brings tho.
