Lots of rumours around saying salah is going to be the highest paid player in the world by Saudi, could be BS but could see it happening.

Magico1234

1.) 15 Jan 2025 18:30:16
He will if he goes on free. We end up with Wilfred zaha. Opportunistic signing.

2.) 15 Jan 2025 18:31:31
It is not BS sadly. Obviously the club can't pay those crazy wages, but i still blame them for allowing it to reach this point where he is free to get these offers. So easily avoidable with an earlier deal as he so badly wanted a new fair deal to break more records and win more trophies with Liverpool. Now he can choose between 350k a week or 4 million+ a week. (to be the best paid player he'll have to exceed Ronaldo who's 39 and makes around 3.9 million £ a week)

3.) 15 Jan 2025 19:49:23
I wouldn’t be at all surprised if they try and get him to fight Usyk as well.

4.) 15 Jan 2025 20:20:54
And run the Grand National.

06 Jan 2025 19:42:48
Is Marmoush nailed on for city? We have no interest?

Magico1234

1.) 06 Jan 2025 22:26:13
Yeah, he won’t be joining us. Apparently we’re keeping our powder dry and assessing our options for the summer whilst being ready for an opportunistic signing.

2.) 07 Jan 2025 03:21:37
He'll cost a fortune and to me he's worth it but I don't see us doing it because we like our bargains lol which I have no problem with to be fair, it's worked out for us.

3.) 07 Jan 2025 07:55:24
We have missed out on the big trophies in the last few years, failing to get over the line. We do need players to help the squad, a midfielder or a cb/ lb would help a lot.

4.) 07 Jan 2025 08:59:14
Markp08, I wouldn’t hold your breathe. Apparently the budget for the next two summers is “limited”.

5.) 07 Jan 2025 09:02:49
I think we probably are taking a good long look at him because he does everything a slot no9 would need to do, and looks like he has the physical profile for the premier league. For city, buying him would simply be making up for the arrogance and idiocy of letting go of Alvarez in the first place.

6.) 07 Jan 2025 11:32:50
I am obviously expecting nothing to happen, but fingers crossed something could happen. Midfield is probably the priority.

7.) 07 Jan 2025 12:10:14
The LB position is a priority for me as robbo’s legs have clearly gone. Every game he is getting done big time and making huge mistakes trying to rectify it. Sad times but it happens to us all in the end!

8.) 07 Jan 2025 13:28:31
I would rather it went back to the lb’s sharing the position for now. In midfield we are an injury away from a real problem just as happened to us last year.

05 Dec 2024 13:06:09
Ed’s what’s the likelihood we go into the January transfer window for a couple of additions? Does it all depend on how we fair from now till then? Or are there plans in force anyway?

Magico1234

{Ed001's Note - we will try for at least a midfielder.}

1.) 05 Dec 2024 14:13:19
At the summer, we should go all in on A. Bastoni. he's going to be an amazing fit for us. Ed01s been spot on again. He was one cb he was high on since long ago.

2.) 05 Dec 2024 14:26:31
Bastoni is inter through and through, pretty sure he would never want to leave his club, barella, another we’ve been admiring for years, would probably be the same.

3.) 05 Dec 2024 13:36:18
Ed001, you reckon Endo might be shipped out to make way? He doesn’t seem to be favoured right now.
I fear for Quansah as well to be honest, I think mostly pure bad luck sadly but he’s having a shocker this season and I wouldn’t be too surprised to see him moved on and someone else brought in either in Jan or the summer.

{Ed001's Note - yes, I expect Endo to go, sadly.

As for Quansah, he is just not as good as some fans thought. He has ability and physicality, but he is trying to be like Virgil and that is not what he needs to do. He needs to be himself as he is ending up being less laid-back and more lackadaisical.}

4.) 05 Dec 2024 13:38:10
Any idea who Ed?
I don’t think the Zub one makes sense tbh.

Thanks in advance.

{Ed001's Note - I don't know, it will be based on stats, they are looking for someone to help keep possession in the middle of the park.}

5.) 05 Dec 2024 14:16:24
Cheers ed, definitely 1 needed for me and also a cb, not sure which we are most desperate for though.

6.) 05 Dec 2024 14:34:04
Do you see us going back for Zubimendi Ed001? Or has that ship sailed?

{Ed001's Note - I would be surprised if we went back for him.}

7.) 05 Dec 2024 15:53:24
I would love us to get zubimendi eventually, he has been scary scary good for sociedad this year, uses the ball perfectly and gets into the final third a lot too, though I think ed001 is right, his game is quite similar to Mac allister this year though he is also making a lot of interceptions in midfield.

8.) 05 Dec 2024 16:42:40
Absolutely doubt we’ll spend money in January. Just can’t see us doing it.

9.) 05 Dec 2024 16:57:30
Quansah I think definitely won’t be our level and will probably move on or he stays as a 4th choice.

10.) 05 Dec 2024 17:08:54
Whats the chances that LFC go for Amad Diallo in the summer on a free?
Or Tottenhams Son on a free?

11.) 05 Dec 2024 17:37:50
Fatwallet-Quansah was excellent last season, and lest we not forget his age.
He has plenty of time to develop into a top level player.
Id be selling Jo Gomez ahead of Quansah.

12.) 05 Dec 2024 18:04:40
Vango why?

He’s of a good age, not expensive on wages, non verbal about playing time, gives his all when he does play. Plays two positions brilliantly and can also help out at left back,
Well liked by the squad.
It makes no sense to sell him.

13.) 05 Dec 2024 18:51:05
Also, I’d be gutted to see Endo go.
I said before the match yesterday Endo should be getting minutes to be better prepared for the tougher matches coming. He’s a warrior!
Saturday is prime time for him.
Last Derby at Goddison Park, them slowing down the steam train were riding on top of the league?
Two huge reasons on top of every other reason they have (Yes we have the same reasons) to win!

I would have given him minutes yesterday to have him available and ready for a start Saturday against Everton. A surprise may be strung and he starts. I genuinely think this is a game he was made for!

GK dependent on Allison

Trent Gomez VVD Robertson

Endo Gravenberch
Salah Jones Diaz
Nunez

Sent with a smile All
We’re top of the league YNWA.

14.) 05 Dec 2024 18:59:45
Unfortunately the injuries look like they caught up with Joe. For me he lacks that consistency that is required at the very top. He seems to be a world beater one game and a Championship player the next. Brilliant servant to the club but I think we need an upgrade now if we are to push on.

15.) 05 Dec 2024 19:02:14
Evening ed001…

Any idea on who ( midfielder ) we might move for?

Cheer
Drogie.

{Ed001's Note - no mate sorry.}

16.) 05 Dec 2024 20:30:51
Sad to say but Darwin needs to move on (and with a 3 year write down it wouldn’t be as financially bad as it could be) He was totally out of his league last night and running around with loads of effort and industry doesn’t make you a PL player. ? Alex Isak would score aboat loads of goals and I’d love us to go balls out for him?.

17.) 06 Dec 2024 00:38:25
I haven't been convinced that we need Zubi because of his similarity to Jones. But in recent games, the one-touch football has noticeably increased between our CMs and the wingers / fullbacks. So got me thinking that we do need to increase that kind of skillset into the team. eye for pass, create angles, triangles etc etc. Zubi would be good for that and would compliment Szobo and Jones well in that sense.

18.) 06 Dec 2024 00:44:31
Some who keeps the ball? How about Youri Tielemans?

19.) 06 Dec 2024 01:02:16
@Schultzy, you are correct but I think it’s very, very sad that a phrase like ‘with a 3 year write down it wouldn’t be as financially bad as it could be” is being used when talking about footy. The beautiful game is over the hills and long, long way gone.

20.) 06 Dec 2024 11:08:58
How quick a young lad like Quansah gets written off, not at our level now? when most people were perfectly happy to have him start the first game at Ipswich back in August? Same people probably still making excuses for Darwin who cost a fortune and who let's face it has to be the worst finisher ever to play upfront for the reds. Makes Heskey look clinical.

21.) 06 Dec 2024 21:31:44
Bit tough on Heskey
More akin to Voronin.

22.) 07 Dec 2024 21:12:57
Was never confident with quansah at Ipswich tbh, I’d rather keep Gomez, it’s my opinion that he’s not good enough.

23.) 09 Dec 2024 10:40:00
@Ed001 would you take Frenkie de Jong considering he was top statistically for % of ball retention under high pressure until his form fell off a cliff this season? Available for cheap so low risk possible high reward?

{Ed001's Note - god no, he is earning something like 400k a week after tax. He is not that good either. Very much like Mac Allister, lacks the mobility we need.}

14 Sep 2024 08:40:25
Eds what was plan for mexican winger César 'Chino' Huerta who allegedly had his bag packed ready to join in window just gone, . Report I read said he was going to Sunderland on loan for a season but it fell through on their end, so deal wasnt completed. Is he someone just for the academy or to make a profit on? Never seen him obviously. Cheers.

Magico1234

{Ed002's Note - He is certainly not for the academy

Cesar Huerta (LW) Right footed LW who Liverpool, according to his agent and manager, were interested in taking and sending him on loan to the Championship as he is borderline in being eligible for a Work Permit for the Premier League. Austin enquired after him and Lutz Pfannenstiel considered him as an option. If FSG could purchase another side in Europe or the MLS it would help with loaning him out.}

1.) 14 Sep 2024 15:04:02
So the loan to Sunderland was to gain make work permit an easier process and then join our first team the season after maybe? Love a South American me, grafters.

{Ed002's Note - Possibly.}

2.) 15 Sep 2024 01:48:42
Magico
Hope you love North Americans as much as South bud.

3.) 15 Sep 2024 11:25:15
420FL, that made me smile.

4.) 15 Sep 2024 22:28:52
Haha sorry pal.

29 Jul 2024 14:52:08
Peg offer 8.4m for SEP, instantly refused.

Magico1234

1.) 29 Jul 2024 15:31:25
Who is peg?

{Ed002's Note - PSV.}

2.) 29 Jul 2024 16:07:04
Is that PSG for SVB Magico?

Actually just checked NewsNow and its from Romano on X - PSV bid €10m for SVB and it was rejected (according to him) .

Good, I hope Sepp could form part of our CB lineup this year.

My ideal (based on reports and some highlights of his from last season) - Van Dijk + 1 (maybe Inacio) for LCB, Sepp and Quansah for RCB and Joe Gomez covering all positions at the back if required.

Someone like Inacio could also provide cover at LB too.

If Joe goes, then Geertruida as a utility defener and providing options at CDM.

3.) 29 Jul 2024 16:07:58
I think PSV offered the same! ?.

4.) 29 Jul 2024 16:21:56
That is actually an insulting offer if it's true. Pacho is allegedly valued at 60m plus, so it is completely reasonable for us to want a third of that for a player who performed better than Pacho last season in the same league for a weaker team. There is lowballing and then there is just pure cheek.

James Pearce reported yesterday that Sepp isn't desperate to leave, he just doesn't want to be stranded way down the pecking order. So we're under no pressure to sell for utterly derisory offers like that.

{Ed002's Note - Are Liverpool planning on valuing all of their players using Pacho as a guide?}

5.) 29 Jul 2024 16:30:34
@Zeddicus
And what are you going to do with Konate?

6.) 29 Jul 2024 17:31:46
Super Hans, sadly, I would look to sell Konate. Great defender on his day, and has great pace, but injured too often to be relied upon.

Ed002, the market has always been dependent on other player sales to 'set a price'.

I agree with Adam that SVB is underpriced by PSV at €10m, albeit I prefer the 'Inacio-scale'!

{Ed002's Note - Clubs always set what they think is a fair maximum they would pay to buy and a fair minimum to sell.}

7.) 29 Jul 2024 18:19:32
C’mon Ed002, if Liverpool offered €10m for a player of van den Berg’s class you’d quite rightly say we were messing them about with embarrassing behaviour. I thought it was Amsterdam where they liked a bit of Whacky Backy, but they’ve definitely been smoking something over in Eindhoven. We should respond with a €10m euro offer for Bakayoko.

{Ed002's Note - That is not how it works. Sure make a stupid offer for a player - simply makes the club more of a laughing stock.}

8.) 29 Jul 2024 18:45:43
Sorry lads was meant to be psv haha, was in a rush. If he’s so highly thought of why aren’t the offers much more. If he was on city’s books he’d be 30m plus minimum.

9.) 29 Jul 2024 18:54:19
I was clearly joking Ed002, but it’s good to know that you agree €10m for a top young talent is stupid ?.

10.) 29 Jul 2024 19:30:45
Yep funny how when we do it it's lowballing but when others do it to LFC it's us being unreasonable. If we've set the asking price then the interested club just need to stump up and pay it if they want him and that's all there is to it, right?

11.) 29 Jul 2024 20:45:22
Westwood - Bipolar genZ in full force.

12.) 29 Jul 2024 21:58:50
Well said MK Scouser absolutely spot on.

13.) 30 Jul 2024 01:07:26
You can’t blame PSV when the player/ agent have been vocal for months about wanting to leave. If that’s the public perception, then imagine what the representatives are indicating to other clubs behind closed doors. Player power works and clubs have been know to use it to manipulate clubs, nothing new here.

14.) 30 Jul 2024 01:55:51
I think it’s imperative that we sell everybody in the squad who has ever dropped below 100% in any competitive match for the club and that the instant replacements should all be bought for at least £100 m, as this is the only sure guarantee that a player is any good. As Hughes and Slot have indicated that there will be transfer activity in August I expect the full replacement of the entire squad on August 1st. Any failure to meet this plan must be regarded as an abject failure on the part of FSG, who should immediately sell the club to somebody in the UAE - I’m not sure who, but anybody will do and it has to be done by cob August 2nd.

15.) 30 Jul 2024 05:35:58
I've had this thought about the perspective of our "low" offers versus how we price players out of moves.
Never understood it myself, but can understand that's why it's probably better we try not to understand it lol.

16.) 30 Jul 2024 06:38:27
There's nothing to understand Faith, it's just hypocrisy at its finest from those who consistently and objectively show they do not like the club or it's fans. Makes you wonder why they are even on here tbh, other than simply trolling.

17.) 30 Jul 2024 08:42:39
IDK why you making stupid arguments with ed002 regd price tag. He is correct. SVB is surplus at the end of the last season. We are looking to seel and he wasn't even in bench for us. On other hand we are trying to bid for their first team player. Of course this changes the price tag in the first place.

18.) 30 Jul 2024 17:48:34
I'm not sure if you are referring to me STG, but if you are I have not once mentioned Ed002 in any of my posts and have no intention of doing so either.

19.) 31 Jul 2024 08:05:46
Is IDK text speak for ‘I don’t know’? If it is I have to say I didn’t know that it means I don’t know ….

20.) 31 Jul 2024 10:24:57
I am not pointing anyone just told in general. Some of the talented players got for way less and some average players was paid way more. We can't compare any 2 transfers.

Ed’s what’s your take on the lack of game time Harvey Elliot is getting or not, last season every time he came on or started he seemed to bring the tempo of the game up. Believe he had a great pre season though I never saw any. Seems a waste to me, as for jones I don’t know what slot is seeing in him.

Magico1234

{Ed001's Note - every manager has their preference for the way they want to play and Harvey likes to push the play and take risks. Slot is more cautious, particularly early in games, so I think the two just are incompatible. Jones will keep the ball better, which Slot sees as a key part of his game plan.}

1.) 15 Jan 2025 10:26:54
I think our weakness is in the 1st half of games were we are very passive, we came alive yesterday because we scored after it was looking mission impossible then we got a spring in our step and looked dangerous, last season elliot came off the bench multiple occasions and saved us i am sure he had 11 assists most from the bench its a shame he isn't being trusted.

2.) 15 Jan 2025 10:29:05
I think it’s a matter of slot’s conservatism again, which is either a good or bad thing considering it’s what got is to this point at the top of the table in the first place. I think that if we didn’t have the pressure of winning the league right now Elliott might get more of a look in, but slot himself has said that he is more inclined to use players he trusts and who have been training for longer to win games. His injury came at a very unfortunate time because he missed the period when slot was figuring out who his core rotation options should be and when players were coming into form over a run or games.

3.) 15 Jan 2025 10:42:53
Cheers ed, jones might keep the ball better but does nothing with it imo. Last few games have shown that too.

{Ed001's Note - he did ok as a sub last night and started the season well. He just gets too cautious at times and dallies on the ball. If he stuck to moving it quickly, he would be fine.}

4.) 15 Jan 2025 11:02:59
We have seen how important Szobo's physicality is to our game. Where does Harvey fit into this team? I expect he will move on in the summer. If Brighton like him, then perhaps there is some horse trading opportunity on one of Baleba/ Pedro.

I couldn't help laughing at the final sentence I wrote.

5.) 15 Jan 2025 12:51:04
I'd be more concerned that Slots not using Endo enough in games, he would make a difference against a midfield like Forests.

6.) 15 Jan 2025 12:57:32
PatrikBurgher, I gagree with you re: Elliott. I think he had a great preseason and I thought he would carry that over into the start of the season. Sadly, that injury set him back and with the way we started the season an for a new manager, he has trust in certain players and not in others.

And with the way things are going now overall, the trusted players remain trusted and the untrusted ones remain as such, rightly or wrongly. It is what it is. I do believe that Jones and Szobo (key to the way we play, like @Pelican says) need to be more decisive in their decision making in addition to speed of execution of said decision, whatever it is.

7.) 15 Jan 2025 12:57:53
Yes, Pelican. That last statement was pretty funny in isolation, lol.

8.) 15 Jan 2025 13:10:16
Jones needs three years on the ball and that’s fine against passive teams but Newcastle and Utd the midfield was bulldozed and he looked out of his depth in all honesty.

9.) 15 Jan 2025 13:19:08
On Szobo - I wish he would take a chance on himself from time to time. He always opts to play Mo in when breaking forward with the ball. From time to time, I would like him to crack a shot off. We know he can.

10.) 15 Jan 2025 14:24:18
Been saying the same thing all season, Pelican.

30 Dec 2024 21:49:27
Will Amorim last till summer?

Magico1234

1.) 30 Dec 2024 22:11:57
that 1st half was the worst i've seen those lot play under any manager, newcastle were decent but were made to look like Prime Brazil! I hope we go all in and smash the sh** out of them.

2.) 30 Dec 2024 22:50:45
Amorim needs to change his tactics if he is to survive. unless he can buy 4 or 5 players at least now in Jan, which is unlikely

If he continues with his system of 3-2-4-1 or whatever it is, then he won't last without reinforcements.

3.) 30 Dec 2024 23:25:42
Has any team been successful playing 3 at the back in the PL? And I’d don’t mean a one season wonder. Just doesn’t feel like a tactic that works over here. If Amorim is sticking with that based on the performances and personnel he has available then I reckon we dodged a massive bullet there, stubborn for stubborn’s sake.

4.) 30 Dec 2024 23:48:52
3 at the back is basically what Man City played when they had Cancelo/ Stones next to Rodri in midfield and dominated for years.

Spurs also did well under Poch with Dier in DM splitting their CB’s and it becoming a back 3 in practice that allowed Rose and Walker/ Trippier to push really high.

Nuno played it at Wolves and got into Europe with a very average team. Jonny and Doherty are rank average full backs but were purpose built for wing back.

Brentford have played it on/ off for years and punched well above their weight with multiple Championship level players.

Conte won the league at Chelsea with run of the mill dross like Alonso and Moses as the wing backs playing with his preferred back 3.

It can definitely work in England but it does absolutely require the right players. Something United don’t have. It’s allegedly the reason we didn’t press for Amorim as well. Apparently it was decided our squad options didn’t fit his philosophy.

5.) 30 Dec 2024 23:55:09
Roy Evans team of mid 90s done well with a back 3. Mcateer/ jones/ byornabye the wing backs. A top class goalie short of winning couple of leagues.

{Ed001's Note - it was a few more players short than that. I love John Barnes, but he was done by then, yet he had to play in the centre of midfield because of a lack of options. We defo needed to replace him at that time. The centre-backs were also an issue, not sure any of them were suited to the style of play, maybe Mark Wright.}

6.) 31 Dec 2024 00:14:56
MKS, all you said would make sense if we were dealing with another club with a diff. squad of players, both of whom have or act like they have some damn sense. With Utd it doesn't matter what coach nor formation they play cos that squad of players is absolutely toxic or what we call in the NFL, "a Coach Killer". Doesn't matter who they hire, that squad will eventually fail him, IMO.

The fact that Rashford has been recalled back to the squad after Amorim came out telling everyone that he didn't need him anymore, just tells you the state of affairs within that squad. Amorim is in over his head (happy we picked Slot over him) and could mess around and find out the same way his predecessors did.

Oh, And Im here for ALL of it, btw.

7.) 31 Dec 2024 00:22:20
I bow to your better knowledge if I’m wrong MK but I’d say of all of the teams you’ve mentioned the only one that actually played 3 at the back with wingbacks was Chelsea under Conte and it worked for a season.

The others might have transitioned to 3 at the back when in possession but they lined up as a back 4 with a 6 in front that would drop when in possession or one fullback goes and the other tucks in as a 3rd CB.

There have been loads, too many to count that have toyed with the 3 at the back in certain situations (West Ham did it on Sunday for the 2nd half) but not many that have ever been consistently successful by using it all of the time.

Even Evans’ side in the 90s wasn’t particularly successful. Evans never won the league or really ever came close.

Formations are mostly fluid with players having different positions depending on what’s happening in the game but those that line up as a 343 or 352 or 532 or any other variation generally don’t win things.

There’s always exceptions of course but I don’t think Utd are that right now.

8.) 31 Dec 2024 00:27:29
I think if schemical hadve been our keeper instead of james I think we would've won a league r 2 around that time ed1 imo . We had some v good players at time.

{Ed001's Note - no way, too many bottlers in that team. Particularly redknapp.}

9.) 31 Dec 2024 07:24:33
Beckers, Wolves under Nuno and Brentford under Frank both mainly played a starting position formation 3-5-2 or 3-4-3 with great success given their level. Jota and Jimenez (sometimes with Traore) and Toney and Mbuemo (sometimes with Wissa) really thrived off the tactics.

City played a starting position line-up of 3-2-4-1 for most of last season and won the league. When it was Cancelo the years prior though that was a back 4 with Cancelo inverting tbf.

I’ll give you Spurs though as that was a 4-3-3 on paper, but it morphed into some sort of 3-4-2-1 in possession only. The rest absolutely had a back 3 as their starting positions though.

10.) 31 Dec 2024 08:14:58
I think the main reason back 3’s fail is because managers who believe in it come in and try to immediately make it work rather than take their time. So it’s very rare they walk in and have the right players. Conte got lucky as nobody would’ve predicted Moses would be a good RWB or that Azpilicueta would’ve been a world class CB in a 3. We probably all saw Rudiger, Kante, Hazard and Alonso doing well in the system but a few other things also fell into place quite nicely for Conte straight off the bat. Ultimately we don’t know if Conte would have sustained the success because he fell out with everyone like he always does. But his Chelsea remain one of the highest points tally Champions in Prem history so he proved that Amorims system can work and win trophies here in my opinion.

It’s just really tricky to implement because you need quite a few very specific things. First off you need at least 2 CB’s who are comfortable being dragged into 1v1’s with fast wingers in wide areas. Secondly, with everyone else obsessing over getting an extra man into midfield nowadays, you need to have 2 really mobile midfielders (or Kante who can run for 2) so as to avoid being dominated in midfield. Then you need Wing backs who are capable of scoring and creating goals so you don’t become blunt and too narrow. Lastly you need wingers who are comfortable being forced infield to create space for the wing backs and therefore capable of operating almost as a No.10 at times.

Man United are missing too many cogs for Amorims machine to work and it’s concerning for him as a manager that he’s too stubborn to see that. They have no CB’s good in 1v1 situations and no natural wing backs who carry a threat. Mainoo and Ugarte are their only mobile midfielders but they’re mid table players at best. Mount and Diallo are the only wingers who suit inverting into the 10 positions but one is injury prone, and the other has only ever sustained good form at Championship level. So this makes them easy to score against and easy to defend against. Recipe for disaster at any level of football.

Utd looked awful first half last night and not much better in the 2nd half.

I was quite impressed with Newcastle First 35 mins but not so much after that.

If we play to put potential on Sunday it could be another hammering for them.

I’m not sure if Utd looking so bad coming into this game is a good or bad thing for us.

12.) 31 Dec 2024 10:24:59
In their defence (pun intended ?), United could play a different midfield on Sunday. Mainoo could start and Fernandes and Ugarte are back from suspension.
Also, Zirkzee probably won't start which is unfortunate for us.
Anyway, I'm going to stay humble and be content with the three points ?.

13.) 31 Dec 2024 10:47:22
Let’s be humble. The 90s were mainly a bad time. Houllier came in and turned us into trophy winners after a lean 5-6 years.

14.) 31 Dec 2024 10:50:58
Rigsby I agree mate.

I should have actually added to my comment

If we play to our potential on Sunday it could be another hammering for them.

“But we know that’s not how things work”

Utd were poor last year and they frustrated out of us on more than one occasion.

15.) 31 Dec 2024 11:17:29
And I agree with you, JK.
My post was more about them not having to play Eriksen, Casemiro and Zirkzee.
We could still hammer them but I'll take a comfortable 2-0 and a second half stroll to keep some freshness in our legs.

16.) 31 Dec 2024 11:26:51
Rigsby agree. I’d be happy with any kind of win.

But also I’m going to the game though so selfishly I want another 7-0 at least.

17.) 31 Dec 2024 15:20:13
You got it JK23, on the Phone with Arne now! He is unsure about 7, but promises at least 5!

Game still going ahead? Fog is bad, also believe Diaz's dad has had a heart attack, so Diaz won't be in squad.

1.) 26 Dec 2024 18:02:09
F'ing he'll, Diaz Sr. doesn't catch a break. Hope he recovers quick.

2.) 26 Dec 2024 18:14:26
Just a post I seen earlier about his father, not sure how true it is. Hopefully he's playing tonight luis.

3.) 26 Dec 2024 18:21:54
Very sad news if true.

Thoughts with the player and family.

4.) 26 Dec 2024 18:49:15
Diaz on the bench.

Nunez starts.

5.) 26 Dec 2024 18:59:58
Diaz on the bench.

6.) 26 Dec 2024 23:20:49
Did Nunez actually start ?.

26 Dec 2024 14:36:06
Guys see city held again. 1 win in last thirteen. Woulb we of been calling for jurgens head if it was us? 1 in 13 terrible, even worse is the style of play pep is continuing to play.

1.) 26 Dec 2024 14:40:29
Some were when he lost like 6 on the bounce.

2.) 26 Dec 2024 14:56:45
Well done to Everton, to get 2 points against Chelsea and City is some good going.

3.) 26 Dec 2024 15:34:35
I think they should give Pep an indefinite extension.

4.) 26 Dec 2024 16:10:08
They actually got 3 when you throw Arsenal into the mix Salah! Everton fans must feel sick to be helping us out so much ?.

5.) 26 Dec 2024 18:29:45
uh, fans were after Klopp's head and we didn't have anywhere near this kind of winless streak lol

They should stick with him. despite all the skepticism and perceived flaws, he has earned the right to stay and leave on his terms.

6.) 26 Dec 2024 18:40:54
City should sack Pep and replace him with Sean Dyche.

7.) 26 Dec 2024 23:22:52
I’d like to see Ten Haag have another go in Manchester @Vic. I think we deserve it.

08 Dec 2024 10:42:51
Mate sent me this yesterday. "I thought Liverpool walked on through the storm and wind and the rain" haha fair play to be honest, was the weather really that bad in Liverpool yesterday? To stop the game.

1.) 08 Dec 2024 12:36:27
Magico, it was the police and the council that said the game had to be postpined, also trains and buses were affected. There were trees coming down all over the west side of the country.

{Ed014's Note - the Police, Council and both clubs held a meeting about the postponement.

2.) 08 Dec 2024 13:10:19
Fair enough lads. Was a bit breezy up in Manchester and wet as usual but not the 50 odd mph winds they said was coming. At least the lads had a rest and hopefully a bit more recouping. When the game likely have they said?

3.) 08 Dec 2024 13:16:48
What's it got to do with The Police?
I thought Sting was a Newcastle fan.

4.) 08 Dec 2024 21:55:22
Magico even us here in Brussels had storm warnings thu out yesterday due to these winds. That game should never have been played and Im glad it wasn't.

5.) 09 Dec 2024 00:31:15
Brussels and strong winds are to be expected at this time of year.

6.) 09 Dec 2024 13:54:39
lol Rigsby, hey Sting speaks we listen.

They won’t be like new signings at all, that’s not what transfer windows are for. I reckon all 3 will leave myself. And Diaz will be off in summer.

Would you ed believe this was part of the reason klopp deciding it was time for new pastures? Not saying the whole reason as I believed him when he said he tired and lost the motivation. But maybe things were being brought in and he didn’t like that. I’m still lost for words how we can be 1 of the biggest and most successful clubs in world football when our spending is limited most transfer windows. Fear slot will be hung out to dry if none of 3 sign contracts, and even if mo and vvd do sign as I think Trent is leaving, a year later they are going to have to replace them anyway.

Magico1234

{Ed001's Note - I doubt it had anything to do with Klopp's decision.}

All I want from Trent is for him to give his all, blood sweat and tears (of joy) until the last game of season. However I personally think he should come out with a statement confirming he has decided to leave for Real Madrid but hopes 1 day to return to the club he loves and finish his career. Think the fans would appreciate that more myself and cheer him every game as they should… been a great.

A strong base midfield is in my opinion the spine of the whole team. It affects the defence and creativity for the forwards…. last season we missed loads of chances and we had games again where the midfield 3 was just played through…. same is happening again. Is gravenberch hadn’t stepped up to the plate this season and city not having a total collapse we wouldn’t be top of the league, slot has done a good job so far but we a team jurgen created and he’s getting the same from the players. Nothing has changed, we’ve been here before never strengthened when on top and it cost us big and no doubt will again.
