Hello all,
Slot has been pretty much been ‘gone’ for some time as I’ve mentioned.
Not sure the whole thing has been handled correctly but there we are.
Think by the end of the month we will have a new manager, potentially next week if a certain meeting goes well.

Thanks for info carra, appreciated as always.

Thanks Carra. I hope this gets done next week. Reports of Stevie G stepping in or is that way off the mark?

Thanks Carra. Any nationalities you could share would be much appreciated . Italian perhaps based on one of your recent posts.

Cheers Carra that gladdens my heart no end. Let’s get the right man in who actually will be all in on the club the culture and turn this mess around.

07 Dec 2025 10:29:06
Potentially some much needed good news, cheers carra.

Hello Digger,
Interim option is being sounded out, our full time option may have to wait.

That is music to my ears Carra, nice one.
Iraola will have this lot working hard and playing with a style that suits this leage.

Thanks for the info Carra but this is crazy - our most successful manager over his first 50 games gets the sack. Only 2 of our 9 managers have won the Premier League and he did it in the first season.
He’s earnt the right to sort it out and have a season of going from “Mo to Flo”. Had a season ticket for 45 years and will never be so disgusted with the Club if this happens. We are not Chelsea.

Hello Hugo,
Inzaghi would jump through hoops to take over at Liverpool. He isn’t a Hughes/ Edwards man though.
He’d be my personal first choice,
On a side note, Italian managers have an excellent record in England.

Interesting Carra thanks, didn’t think we’d go interim but if we have to wait so be it.

07 Dec 2025 10:44:59
Thanks Carra.
Carra do you see Stevie G taking over interim with Riola or Alonso being the FT replacement?
1
07 Dec 2025 10:51:06
Thanks for the info Carra, appreciated as always. The sounding out of an interim ties in with something I saw on "X"; about a former player who is a legend in these parts.
1
07 Dec 2025 10:55:23
Cheers Carra, I wonder if Gary O'Neil has been looked at for the interim after being part of the u23 set up a few years back.
If Slot were to leave would it be all the coaching staff as well? It would be some upheaval with games coming quick and fast.

Inzaghi's football isn't any more exciting than what we've been seeing the last few weeks, probably less. That being said the players we have do kind of suit the system that he has with Frimpong and Kerkez as wing backs and Ekitike and Isak up front, though we would need to bring in Guehi to make it work, and Guehi would probably have to play the Bastoni role.
It would mean there is no place for Gakpo, though, and it would be unclear what place Wirtz would have if he isn't playing false 9.

07 Dec 2025 10:57:04
It'll be Iraola so jut because of the connection with Hughes.

JoeBuck - Refusing to sack a manager who deserves it does not make Liverpool a special club; it makes it a stupid one. Liverpool is a special club because of its success, most of which came under top-tier managers (Shankley, Paisley, Fagan, Klopp) . Slot has had 10 months to address our poor performances, and has failed at doing so.
Time is absolutely up, now.
1
{Ed001's Note - we used to refuse to sack failures, which is why we were in the second tier when Shanks took over.}

07 Dec 2025 11:03:06
Cheers carra.

07 Dec 2025 11:10:38
Gerrard would be a terrible appointment. Even on an interim basis. Poor record at his last two clubs, he nearly took Villa down, tactically inept and lacks the charisma to make up for that,
0
07 Dec 2025 11:11:04
Cheers Carra.
Lets hope it goes well and we get the right person in to get a kick up the arse of the players (well the ones that need it) until the "right" manager is available!

Thanks for the info Carra.
Wonder is there a cryptic clue in there about Italian Managers.
Mancini as interim?

07 Dec 2025 11:13:47
Cheers Carra. I’ve been patiently waiting for you to post.
When you say possibly next week if meetings go well, is that:
1. For a permanent manager or interim?
2. No problem if you can’t say but are you able to give us a name?
0
07 Dec 2025 11:21:38
JoeBuck, I'd really love to give Slot time to turn it around and I will always appreciate him for winning us the title, but if it has reached breaking point with the players there is little point keeping him on. It's very sad and I wish it wasn't the case but his stubbornness seems to have cost him his job.

07 Dec 2025 11:22:51
Lowe - Moores didn't pull the trigger on sacking Houllier (despite having unanimous backing from the board) until Rafa threatened to walk away.
0
07 Dec 2025 11:05:27
Thanks Carra, great news!
The longer this goes on, the worse we are getting. Fingers crossed for next week!
Any hint of a name / nationality for either Interim or Permanent?

Hi Ed’s do you know of any interest in Minteh? Young and very pacy but raw, really think if we replace salah and Diaz need some pacy options as our team really lacks pace atm.
0
{Ed001's Note - no thankfully as he is not good. Has one good game in 20.}
2
07 Dec 2025 10:05:14
If salah is sold to saudi the option to replace him have to be between Barcola and Olise. Semenyo will be the Diaz replacement. Club should also seriously consider off loading MacAlister and replacing him with a proper athletic and physical dm.
2
07 Dec 2025 10:09:43
Slot told us we’ve someone for the left for Diaz. Rio! He’s there somewhere.

Ed1, is the reason Hughes and co. decided to give Salah a new contract last season because they would have looked like fools if they didn’t extend it after the numbers Salah produced, and because they expected backlash from the fans if he didn’t get one?
Did they not really want to give both Salah and VVD new contracts? I’ve always been under the impression that Edwards isn’t keen on giving huge contracts to older players, based on his past history as our Sporting Director.
And now, after Salah’s dip in form, they would feel justified in moving on from him and backing Slot—hoping the fans will accept the decision to sell Salah, especially after his recent interview. Although personally, I don’t think the fans will agree with that. I expect Anfield to sing Salah’s song loudly in our next home game.
4
{Ed001's Note - in large part, they were backed into a corner as they couldn't replace them as well last summer. It was about getting time to rebuild, and find and recruit their replacements.}
8
07 Dec 2025 07:55:35
I think ideally with the biggest money players they would have contracts with staggered expiry dates, so that you don’t have the cliff edge of two or three of them all negotiating at the same time.
They basically had us over a barrel as it’s almost impossible financially to replace Trent, Mo and VVD at around the same time unless that’s your only transfer business for a couple of windows. We had other problem positions to fix at the same point in time.
Weve got similar in the next wave with Grav and Szob, with noises already talks are stalling. And Konate being this seasons big problem. They’re not the same level of earners but their expectations will be high.
We seem to make the running of the contract side of the club look really difficult, most other clubs seem to be able to renew most of their key players deals without the issues that surround ours.
2
07 Dec 2025 08:13:19
To many negatives … we need a coach who can bring positive vibes to the players and use a fresh brush. Salah heavily impacted by Jota and I don’t feel Slot is a man manager and Jonny at Ajax may have bridged that gap whereas Van Bronkhurst doesn’t have the panache.
Klopp would galvanise spirit for players and fans a like as an interim and maybe get a trophy. Wirtz would be the Goetze he never got.
Go again next summer for a world class replacement not a mid tier premier league gamble or Klopp gets the bug and brings Gerrard as an assistant and he transfers to be another legends assistant even Carlo.
In business and in life if it’s rotten and not working a change is needed.
Klopp would most likely applaud the KOP on 20 minutes for the full minute and energise the team from sadness to defiance.

07 Dec 2025 09:34:58
Ed, do you think something is going to happen soon? It needs to, because this is a completely messed-up situation. The longer it goes on, the worse it could get. I think both Edwards and Hughes are starting to feel the heat because of this. At the end of the day, their jobs are also on the line here.
0
{Ed001's Note - it has to because Slot has lost the players. He has no man management ability at all and has been found out tactically. The interview has put it out in the open but it has been obvious for a while. Slot had every chance to sort this, but he thought he knew better after the Villa and Madrid wins and reverted to his dross tactics. It should have been an immediate disciplinary matter to throw away what worked in those two games, but Hughes is a weak leader and so is Edwards. Edwards left because he had no balls to face down Klopp and so ended up putting us in FFP problems over wages. He needs to show a bit of steel now and sort this out.}
2
07 Dec 2025 10:33:04
Ed, on a separate note, who is responsible for appointing coaches? Is it Slot or Hughes? I remember that we hired a set-piece coach this season. I thought we’d be better with set pieces, but it’s turned out to be worse.
We barely score from set pieces and we concede a lot from corners or even a simple long throw. It’s the same with the fitness coaches. We used to be one of the fittest teams, but now it looks like the players could barely outrun a snail that’s taken a wrong turn and is also having a bad day.
0
{Ed001's Note - Hughes is responsible for it, but he does let Slot pick his own group. I thought that our set piece coach was actually hired for a completely different role and just filling in on set pieces as well?}

06 Dec 2025 23:13:37
As far as I'm aware Slot, is still safe for now.
3 things.
Salah should of kept his mouth shut. Legend of the club but that interview shows me, he cares more about himself. I get being frustrated and not playing but as Dom said, that's for the dressing room.
Where on earth did the 9 mins of added time come from? I know its insignificant, it just felt that was alot.
The chants of "West Yorskshire Police" from the Leeds fans. Most neutrals wouldn't of got on to it but it was disrespectful to say the least.
21
06 Dec 2025 23:18:15
Excuses Excuses the idiot should have been sacked weeks ago. I back Salah all day long over that buffoon.
19
06 Dec 2025 23:25:35
Probably a good chance neither are here come Jan.
12
06 Dec 2025 23:27:25
Slots time has come. It's now a case of when and not if.
And the when is important to our champions League qualification hopes.
12
06 Dec 2025 23:33:07
Seen a few people mention the 9 minutes. I don’t see the issue. There were 5 goals before added time. There were also 9 substitutions across 4 separate stoppages. There was a significant VAR check for Ekitike’s 2nd goal to check for offside or a foul on the keeper, followed by treatment for the keepers injury. There was the. An even more significant VAR check which included an on field review at the monitor for the Leeds penalty.
If we had been the team needing a goal, and they’d added on anything less than about 7-9 minutes, we’d have been rightly fuming.
If slot’s not sacked in the next 24-48 hours I will have lost all faith in Hughes and Edwards too. This is incompetence at board level now.
17
06 Dec 2025 23:34:41
Whatsup. No player is bigger than the club, Mo needs to be reminded of that tbh.
Arken, possibly. I know there is interest in Mo. Saudis will jump at the chance. Slot, depends. It has to be the right man, regardless of it being interim or long term.
7
06 Dec 2025 23:38:15
If slot is sacked I hate the idea of an interim manager. I hope they’re working behind the scenes to try and avoid that happening.
3
06 Dec 2025 23:38:25
I get both sides of the Salah debate Fields. I think there is more wrong behind closed doors so maybe he feels as tho something has to be said. Sometimes saying nothing accomplishes the goal.
Deplorable chants. If the fans can't behave themselves then the clubs need to be held accountable. Maybe that would put a stop to it.
0
06 Dec 2025 23:38:42
Slot shouldn't have been "safe" for many weeks now. Absolute negligence by the board.
7
06 Dec 2025 23:40:49
I agree on d 9 mins but once its called ye have to deal with it. Buffoon? bloke won us a title. Convinced half the people on here aren't Lfc fans.
9
07 Dec 2025 00:14:07
MKS, I thought abar 7 would of been about right. Didn't mean Jack in the grand scheme of things mind. I wouldn't be surprised if it came after the Brighton game if we don't win. that's just my opinion tho.
I get that RF. It just seems like the wrong place and time tho.
Exactly FM, play to the whistle ain't it haha.
0
07 Dec 2025 00:24:38
The goal was scored on 96 mins so what the problem there was definitely 96 mins of extra time. If it was scored on 99+ then yeah maybe have an argument that it’s not fair.
Stop looking for excuses we didn’t deserve to win today it’s as simple as that.
We are absolutely s**t to the point of embarrassment and we have to live with that until the club grow some balls and sack slot and back room staff.
6
07 Dec 2025 00:30:35
Florian I’m a fan, he’s not capable, tactics have got us where we are. The team has been stifled not mo’s legs.
5
07 Dec 2025 01:08:11
Hi fields, i am not doubting your Contact or update. But looks Slot lost dressing room and dead man walking waiting for the sack. IMO as soon as we find some interim or permanent solution it will be better for the club moving forward.
We are in December and team looks confused on tactics and if he lost dressing room history says manager will be sacked more often than not.
3
07 Dec 2025 01:17:04
Seriously doubt Slot is up for the sack just yet.
If he is sacked, who could do better?
No one is being mentioned in main stream media as a replacement, we've won 7 games, Arsenal and City have won 10. Oversimplification, admittedly, but "the league doesn't lie" and top 4 is still very much realistic - for now.
I'm wondering if not signing more players last year is a bigger factor than is being credited.
With so many new players and yet, looking at our defence, still not enough at the same time, it was always going to be a tougher transition than of some players had been brought in a year ago.
Sacking Slot seems unjust, he didn't have sole responsibility for signing these players, but more to the point it seems illogical at the moment.
Lots of opinions around the system being deployed, and probably lots of valid points, but not only has Slot earned the time to figure things out, but he's probably better placed to than any other manager, interim or otherwise.
Remember Klopp playing Fabinho and I think even Hendo in defence before finally giving Philips and Williams a go.
This feels a bit like that.
3
07 Dec 2025 01:33:53
And half the players Longthing? or are they all going to play like Zidane under a new guy?
2
07 Dec 2025 02:08:55
Alternate take but i thought we were good enough for the win today.
At 2-0 up we were looking relatively assured and i thought Slot had played his cards right by benching Mo and Mac and putting Ekitike instead of Isak. Not sure if Leeds had a shot on target before the penalty.
I’ve been critical of Slot and im not convinced he can stop the downward trajectory but i was enjoying the performance for the first time in ages. Then Konate had his weekly brainfart, Slot pulled our best performers, and every man bar Szoboslai forgot they owned a spine.
Despite the poor subs (which i think are excusable being two goals ahead) the players were to blame rather than the manager. Konate, VVD, Gravenburch (what was he thinking for their 3rd goal? ), Gomez, should all be made to watch their critical errors over and over. For once, I thought Slot had his team and tactics pretty well set up only to be let down by a team with no resilience.
While I’m at it, Salah needs to keep quiet. He hasn’t earned the right this season to point fingers at anyone except himself.
7
07 Dec 2025 03:15:03
I’ve said a few times recently that Mo doesn’t deserve a start at the moment but that said I think it’s really good that he’s getting frustrated and angry. It shows he cares. My advice to him would be, show them what you’ve got, train your ar$e off son and make it impossible for Slot not to pick you.
1
{Ed025's Note - there is showing you care and there is being an arsehole WDW, no player is bigger than the club mate and that includes Mo mate..
6
07 Dec 2025 04:18:56
Why do they continue to back Slot when its so obvious that he is completely lost? If Iraola is on only 2m a season and Slot is going to require a 10m payoff, its really not that miuch in the grand scheme of things.
Is this more about Hughes wanting to respect Bournmouths needs?
2
07 Dec 2025 05:48:21
Slot isn't bigger than the club but acts like he's some kind of untouchable. Worse manager since Rodgers and Hodgson. Sarah was 100% right.
2
{Ed025's Note - no hes not Whatsup, whether you like the manager or not you have to show respect and Mo crossed the line..
7
07 Dec 2025 06:32:15
TheFields - 1 million percent agree. Whichever side you want to be on, we shouldn’t be put into this position by a star player. “Star” player.
Personally I think this buys Slot more time.
Sounds like we have some bad eggs to move on.
5
07 Dec 2025 08:26:23
As much as I love Mo and what he has done done for the club. His comments are for Monday in Slots office, it the last thing we need when we are in a rut, making silly mistakes, lacking confidence and tactics and managerial discussions aside, we just need to stick together try and get 3 points by any means and try and work our way out of this situation and find some form to get in touch with a top 4 finish. We need to stick together and I am surprised Mo has spoke out tbh, albeit we are no where near where we should be, we have looked more balanced with him on the bench at the moment. Whether Slot can turn this around or not will sort itself out, we have a young talented squad, and we may get some decent additions in Jan.
the players need to keep working hard and stick together, sort their issue in private. We fans meed to do our bit and in this moment and get behind them. I am reminded of what Shankly said, “if you can’t support us when we lose or draw, don’t support us when we win. Things will get better, some people will leave, some will come in. We will still be the most successful team in english history at the end of the season whatever happens, the team is lacking confidence, making mistakes, but we can as fans give consistency in our support at least.
2
07 Dec 2025 08:19:07
Darwin, I'm inclined to agree with you, it was a professional performance up until we gave away the penalty, a completely unremarkable performance of serial winners to just get a result, kill the game and move on to the next game, Leeds did nothing at all in the game.
Considering how they spanked Chelsea, that was an achievement. What followed was completely unacceptable but somehow understandable given how wretched our form and luck have been for weeks. Add the Mo and Dom interviews at the end and of course it all looks like a catastrophe.
1
07 Dec 2025 09:02:02
@Whatsup. The worst manager since Rodgers and Hodgson?
Theres only been two since Rodgers and one of those was Klopp.
1
07 Dec 2025 11:24:38
Proffesional performance? Don't freakin kid yourselves please, Leeds literally gifted us 2 goals in the space of 5 minutes, nothing to do with tactics, literally 2 gifts.
0
06 Dec 2025 21:53:34
Ed, Salah said "the club" have thrown him under the bus and want him out. Is it "the club" or just Slot?
2
{Ed001's Note - he is referring to Slot and Hughes.}
17
06 Dec 2025 22:01:40
Being dropped for three games does not warrant this response, but he's proboably right that Hughes feel's its time to sell.
400k PW + huge money for more rebuilding.
A sad way to end things, none the less.
12
06 Dec 2025 22:01:53
Evening ed001 mate….
Interesting to read it’s not just slot but Hughes too, has he had an influence in team selection mate?
Cheers
Drogie.
2
{Ed001's Note - more the way he is backing Slot and wanting to force Salah out.}
5
06 Dec 2025 22:05:00
Cheers Ed. So Hughes is on this as well then. Seeing as Hughes gave him the new contract in summer, he is looking increasingly not at the required level to me.
3
{Ed001's Note - who is looking at the required level in this tactical set up?}
14
06 Dec 2025 22:11:50
Sounds like it was a money decision by the club then in the summer.
Tbh I never saw a system where Mo, Etikike, Isak and Wirtz played together.
Sounds like they made promises to make him extend when really it was a bit of hit and hope and worse case they cash in.
3
06 Dec 2025 22:14:55
He was POTY last year, imagine the uproar if he didn't give him a contract. Im a huge fan of Salah, have defended him for years on here but it also has to be said he has put in some turgid perfirmances since August.
He's certainly not alone in that either but i don't think the fact he has been dropped should surprise anyone. Most people on here wanted him dropped.
7
06 Dec 2025 22:15:02
Well jeez Ed didn't Hughes sign off on Salah's deal? We've been so well ran the last few years and the wheels are coming off on and off the pitch. I would guess the on pitch is a reflection of off the pitch.
2
06 Dec 2025 22:19:15
Didn’t slot want rid off vvd and mo last year.
2
06 Dec 2025 22:23:06
I'm disgusted at Mo's response tonight. Again, he speaks when he wants something. Always selfish. Ed002 always told us off his agent hawking him around Europe. For a player with a 10 foot first touch, who loses the ball every time he's in possession and who can't square a simple assist, he's got a brass neck. Thanks for the service, Mo, but it's not binary. You can be wrong and so can Slot at the same time.
Post of the dressing room atmosphere must be him sulking. What other player would behave like this? Ferguson would've chucked a tray at him and he'd be transfer listed next day if he was a united player back in the day. Souness would've changed him if he were captain today. How about speaking in the mixed zone in support of the team. I'm fuming.
8
{Ed001's Note - it was not Mo's agent. That is something that has been made clear many times. The guy is his lawyer and was doing his job. Mo never ever wanted to leave.}
11
06 Dec 2025 22:50:14
“All things end badly otherwise they wouldn’t end” can’t remember who said it.
He’s a legend of the club, but they all leave eventually.
Even King Kenny got sacked.
If Salah has played his last game I don’t care how it ended, he’s a club legend and he’ll always be celebrated as a legend in Liverpool.
11
06 Dec 2025 23:02:11
Another of slots failings. How much nore damage will he and Hughes be allowed do before they get sacked?
3
06 Dec 2025 23:11:47
I was referring to Hughes not being at the required level, Ed.
4
{Ed001's Note - apologies, my mistake, I was reading quickly and misread it.}
5
06 Dec 2025 23:18:27
No worries Ed, it was easy to read it that way. And only Szoboszlai is the answer to your question!
2
{Ed001's Note - very true, sadly. Ekitike was the other, right up until Slot decided to drop him in order to play a clearly nowhere near ready Isak.}
6
06 Dec 2025 23:19:32
Mo will never be a legend in my book. Hissy fit when subbed by Klopp, followed by another one from the bench v West Ham. Played a huge role in Klopp retiring.
And now another tantrum when his ego has lost us so many games.
Sorry, but he has turned into C Ronaldo. Imagine Barnes or Rush behaving like this when their legs had gone?
Total onanist.
6
07 Dec 2025 00:34:36
Turn it in monster! How has his legs gone in 8 weeks? The system slot got us playing is making everyone look finished.
7
07 Dec 2025 01:28:59
I’m sorry, Mo can f*ck right off now. He’s not deserved a place in the team recently whilst earning £400k per week, it must be awful for him. If he wants a legacy here then he needs to have some humility or, basically, he can leave tomorrow. The guy is a selfish ahole.
3
07 Dec 2025 03:32:54
“. he (Salah) speaks when he wants something …” what a strange thing to say. Is Salah the first person to actually speak up when he wants something? He’s a bloke at work who has every right to call things out, same as the rest of us.
“Another of slots failings” Again, a strange comment. The overwhelming majority of people using the forum were apoplectic at the thought of the club letting Mo’s contract run down and there was great rejoicing when he signed. I believe Ward and Hughes would take responsibility for 5he decision to re-sign him. The money doesn’t matter from a fan’s perspective unless one or more of the fans are paying the players’ contracts. Of course if he hadn’t resigned the club wouldn’t have received a transfer payment. If he plays well for Egypt at Afcon then we can expect (and possibly accept) a large bid from Saudi / Qatar.
Slot has chosen not to play a woefully out of form Salah. I don’t see what’s wrong with that.
I know it’s in vogue to slag Slot off and to ascribe all sorts of weird and wonderful and imaginary faults to Slot but at least let’s try and apply a bit of sense and perspective.
2
07 Dec 2025 06:26:04
Whatever the situation I think it is unprofessional of Salah, and I think these things should be kept behind closed doors. No player is bigger than the club, Salah included, and no matter how disappointed he feels he shouldn’t be coming out with these sorts of public statements.
Slot isn’t good enough, I think that is clear to see to everyone. How long they give him I don’t know - I think we are on such a clear downward trend, and he shows so few signs of changing it, that he can and should be sacked now. Unimaginably bad situation we are in, don’t think any one could have seen this coming.

{Ed025's Note - spot on Seano..

07 Dec 2025 09:41:25
In the heat of the moment, under stress, anyone can say something blunt, even top professionals. It happens. Salah was spot on. If I was in his position, I’d be absolutely raging. He’s the only one who gets dropped, yet Konate still gets into the team? I’d be fuming. He’s a legend of the club, and he’s earned the right to speak his mind. Since when did being honest become a crime? What happened to freedom of speech?
Yeah, Salah loves the spotlight, we all know it. That’s part of who he is. But he’s also one of the most passionate players we’ve had, he cares deeply about this club, and everything he does is because he wants success for us. The fact it’s come to the point where he has to speak publicly says everything. That’s not on him. That’s on the people above who’ve ignored the warning signs and dragged this out far too long. The blame is being fired in completely the wrong direction.
And let’s be honest, the players look desperate for Slot to be gone. You can see it. You can feel it. Performances don’t drop like this by accident. This isn’t a blip, this is a squad crying out for change. Slot needs to be out of the club immediately. He’s causing needless chaos, division and frustration. This is not who we are and it’s gone on long enough.

Salah not a club legend? but you are a super fan? pathetic is an understatement. Salah deserves so much better than some of you its unbelievable.
ALL THE PLAYERS WANT SLOT OUT.

Long time reader first time reader. Bla bla
Can anyone shed some light on the apparent Mo comments at the end of the game about being thrown under the bus?
2
06 Dec 2025 21:37:52
Prima Donna who thinks he’s more important than the club and will forever tarnish his legacy.
16
06 Dec 2025 21:40:29
Don't think he's too happy about being a sub again. ya know what. I love the guy, and what he's done for the club. but. I'm thinking, no one has the right to start every game. he's also brought Harry kane into the argument 😂😂.
10
06 Dec 2025 21:41:09
He basically feels like he’s been made a scapegoat for our form. Whilst he’s been poor, most of the squad has been and I happen to agree with him. His comments highlight the discontent in the dressing room for me. Bottom line get Slot out asap.
22
06 Dec 2025 21:43:47
Thats the biggest point, that it shows the clear discontent.
9
06 Dec 2025 21:46:23
I believe Szobo’s comments speak louder than what Mo has publicly said.
“What happens in the dressing room stays there. ”
As far as I know, Slot is still safe but I’ve not had any real updates on that recently. Things could have changed since my last update.
There is discourse in the dressing room, squad ‘leaders’ whilst having a responsibility to keep unity, are struggling.
10
06 Dec 2025 21:48:41
Its always about him, and this is the one issue with Mo, cause everything else has been as good as it gets.
He has lost out most of all following all of the changes in the side. Trent, Diaz and Nunez made his game better.
We need graft on the wing, no doubt.
5
06 Dec 2025 21:50:27
3/ 4 new players and a manager with big balls and who understands de rigour of the prem and we will be up there with the very best once again.
3
06 Dec 2025 21:55:03
Maybe Salah has been poor because of the tactics. There's no way a great talent like he is turn into dross this quick. He was the first to get top scorer and top assist in a season!
So I'm with Salah. Yeah he's been in bad form, but he's been made the scapegoat.
12
06 Dec 2025 21:56:26
Mo Salah moaning about not playing highlights the discontent? shows why slot has to go? so when he threatened that if he talked after the west ham game a coupla years ago it would rain fire would that have shown the dressing room discontent too or would it have been different because it was klopp?
7
06 Dec 2025 21:57:27
I agree with Mo Slot is using Mo as a scapegoat for his poor management.
I said that before the game Mo has not been great this season have many players been better not really Gakpo has been truly awful but he keeps playing has there been a worse player than Kanate not sure if there has been one worse in the league he has played like a Sunday league player.
Salah won us the league last season not Slot if anything his tactics tried to throw it away in the second half of the season.
Please 🙏 Richard end this hell and send that clown back to Holland.
11
06 Dec 2025 22:07:26
He has been thrown under the bus.
Top scorer last year. We forget that teams double/ triple team him. He creates space by just being on the pitch. He's been treated appallingly. Kerkez best attacking left back last year, we’re playing him as a 3rd cb.
Wirtz and Isak, Slot is just crossing his fingers hoping they do something. Salah has every right to be pissed. He is not the problem.
12
06 Dec 2025 22:16:45
Ned struggling w the performances or other issues which are hindering performances ie tactics, man management etc?
2
06 Dec 2025 22:45:50
@Red_Flyer69
Struggling to keep unity between the squad and coaching. I think that does go with tactics and man management though.
My two cents is that the squad are struggling with the tactics too though.
4
06 Dec 2025 22:46:52
Oh dear Mo. He's been amazing and still will be (if it's here or somewhere else), hopefully here. however this is disgusting behaviour imo. Not been great this season, not the only one tbf, and he's off soon to the afcon, so if the manager (who ever it is and whether we like him or not) decides to take you out of the team for a couple of games because you've not been at your normal level and has to look at options without you being here, then accept it and come back stronger and support the club who have made you rhe highest paid player ever.
Do not upset the team, the club and make it all about you. You should be backing the team and telling everyone after the tournament you will be back to fight for your colleagues the fans and the club. disguting team player attitude.
8
06 Dec 2025 22:53:55
Great players, REALLY great players like Salah, have to have a selfish, hardwired, single-minded determination.
Call them prima donnas if you like. They don’t get to the top, the very top, unless they’re like that.
He’ll never tarnish his legacy, he would have had to do something sinister and illegal off the pitch for that - and I’m as sure as I can be that he’s not like that.
3
06 Dec 2025 23:00:22
Thx Ned. Keep the info coming ignore the outliers.
2
06 Dec 2025 23:24:37
Very well spoken Ron.
1
06 Dec 2025 23:33:45
He has tarnished his legacy. Since throwing a fit when Klopp subbed him for Doak, he has behaved awfully in the public eye - which I imagine is amplified in the dressing room.
He is clearly not helping other players at all, and needs to be removed from the scene.
Great player, but a less than pleasant person. No wonder Mane went nuts dealing with him.
5
06 Dec 2025 23:43:17
Agree with all that Ron, even if i don't agree with what Mo did tonight.
2
07 Dec 2025 01:30:16
He’s an arse, who won’t get a game for the club again if these comments came from him!
1
07 Dec 2025 01:37:40
Of course there’s discontent in the dressing room. Our form has been awful.
How would we feel if we’d got the results we’ve got and they were all high fiving and the best of pals after the game?
What about Endo, Chiesa, Gomez? They must be annoyed too but they don’t do what Salah did tonight. He showed zero leadership and took zero responsibility when he was playing absolutely crap and we were losing every week. We heard nothing from him at all and even Carra called him out for it.
Now he’s been rightfully dropped he suddenly wants to talk about how hard done by he is? Nobody has ever said it’s all his fault. Nobody has even insinuated it was his fault that’s all in his head. He’s been dropped, it’s football it happens and the very best players take it on the chin and work hard to get back in the team.
But not our Mo. He wants to shout from the rooftops about how they’re all out to get him. Please. Grow up, grow a pair and show the manager he was wrong. All he’s done is prove the manager was absolutely right, we need everyone on board and fighting together whether they’re playing or not. He’s too interested in himself to give a toss about the team, the club or the fans.
5
07 Dec 2025 06:34:34
In fairness, though Salah is completely out of line making these comments public, he’s not wrong in the sense that Slot’s decision to drop him seems to be implicating him as the problem with the team. I don’t think it would matter who plays there - our tactics are woeful, and I think you could drop half the team justifiably if form is the issue.
You could also argue Ekitike should have been starting every game - why hasn’t he? Slot’s own team selections and tactics have been bizarre. I think Salah is justifiably annoyed, but going public is a really bad look and not something players at our club should ever do.
2
{Ed025's Note - but he has been one of the problems Seano, Mo has done nothing to warrant his place in the side mate and to go public on it is disgraceful imo..
5
06 Dec 2025 20:29:02
Hi all,
Just want to get in on this one again while tensions are high and discourse continues. As of 15 minutes ago anyways, Arne Slot is still safe in his job. Not going anywhere right now anyways, so no point in hopes rising if that is what you would like.
He retains backing from the board albeit on relatively thin ice.
3
06 Dec 2025 20:39:42
I guess the board want us to potentially lose out on top four football then. With each game that passes it looks less likely.
16
06 Dec 2025 20:40:22
Don’t doubt you Victor, but imo that is bordering on negligence from the board.
We’ve been poor for months now. He has no idea how to fix it. Prolonging this will only make things worse.
10
06 Dec 2025 20:41:57
I can't believe he hasn't been sacked yet I know it take time to replace him but he should of gone weeks ago we are a laughing stock atm and things aren't getting better anytime soon!
12
06 Dec 2025 20:42:45
Fantastic Victor, that’s just fantastic.
Meanwhile our season slips further away from anything meaningful and finishing top four on current form becomes unrealistic rather than the bare minimum.
11
06 Dec 2025 20:45:38
Thx for the info victor.
Surely results can't continue in this vein . Brenda. king Kenny. Hodgson. all seems to have been shown the door with not being this bad! With far worse calibre of player at their disposal.
Not getting top 4 this season could set-us back
A few years. . we are closer to being bottom 4 .
. Brighton will have a field day . Leeds lost their legs today . after the city and chelsea games . that's how we got a draw .
I literally have not been this raged out since Hodgson era .
4
06 Dec 2025 19:46:51
A few more anyways needed.
Utter horserubbish all around.
6
06 Dec 2025 20:51:00
lol ok victor is that because they haven’t sacked him yet… idk not knowing anything.
6
06 Dec 2025 20:51:01
He should have gone weeks ago. I can’t see him here much longer we can’t beat the poorest teams in the league and we have just had a great run run of fixtures and we have looked absolutely terrible.
6
06 Dec 2025 20:51:40
4 wins in 15, leaking goals for fun I can't believe we are not giving ourselves a chance of by changing the manager whilst we have a chance of finishing in the top 5, the worry here is we are losing our whole identity and creating a losing mentality.
6
06 Dec 2025 19:56:41
We must be financially stable and very confident of transfer windows etc.
Coz we’re obviously not looking like top 4.
8
06 Dec 2025 20:59:35
Well looks like I won’t be spending any more money on tickets I’m not watching this rubbish
No passage of play no press no set piece organisation
Il wait for new management.
6
06 Dec 2025 21:06:15
Thanks Victor.
3
06 Dec 2025 21:14:11
Negligence if that's the case, its the same utter madness every week.
3
06 Dec 2025 21:19:25
Slot is not capable of leading a huge club such as ours, he simply does not have the mental and psychological attributes to carry the weight.
5
06 Dec 2025 21:28:51
Backing from the board but on relatively thin ice?
1
06 Dec 2025 21:31:36
Absolutely laughable get rid or the moron NOW.
4
06 Dec 2025 21:37:27
Slot will be gone after Milan in the CL. Win loose or draw he's lost the players and the dressing room is not a happy place. he's done. The board know that and will act. They are not stupid, they have given him time and its not worked. They are not going to give it more and games so things get worse and worse.
I fully expect more players to come out very soon and put the boot in. Slot is not safe, he's done for. Im as ITK as the next person aside from Carra but its all very obvious . More players will speak out very soon.
1
06 Dec 2025 21:39:07
Agreed drogie how can you be back but beon thin ice? It’s either one or the other surely? Victor IDK hotline to Hughes pull another one mate.
0
06 Dec 2025 21:56:34
You can have backing from the board and be on thin ice.
Backing from the board means he’s in his job and they don’t intend on imminently sacking him. But he’s also on thin ice, because the board know if this continues they will have no choice but to move him on. It’s quite simple.
I know some of you don’t like to hear this and I don’t either, but I’m just passing on the information.
8
06 Dec 2025 22:17:24
All makes sense Vic.

06 Dec 2025 19:36:35
Hi Diddly Ho,
Not one I really want to share but;
Heard today this may be Mo Salah’s last season with us.
Things can change, but Mo and the coaching team are on different ideologies. Sounds like tensions have built since the summer and it’s not down to signings and a new generational core.
He wants to be respectful to the club and fans in the event he does leave.
Saudi most likely, £60-£70m fee murmured but early days - lots can change.
As a fan, I’d like him to stay - feels like he’s being scapegoated for deeper issues and unprecedented scenarios.
Diddly out.

06 Dec 2025 20:04:58
That's not good news Ned. I don't like that. Mango or Oli were mentioning something similar earlier on the live forum which I immediately cast aside, perhaps I am premature in doing so! It's all an fing mess anyway! Talk about a downward trajectory!
1
06 Dec 2025 20:07:31
Thanks Ned
So there are issues off the pitch, which is what we all suspected.
I personally think that it involves more personnel, not just Mo, but that just my opinion.
Slot managed is to our 20th title, but Mo is a legend of this club.
He deserves better.
4
06 Dec 2025 20:11:47
Thx Ned. There are too many players playing way too poorly for it to be a Salah only issue. Kills me seeing him sitting there lord knows what he's thinking. We have fallen so far with the same or in some cases better players. That tells me all I need to know as to what the problem is. Hopefully not a problem too much longer.
5
06 Dec 2025 20:14:29
Yep sure, it’s info you got
coincidentally just after the video of him waving goodbye for the away fans that spark the idea the he maybe even going in January.
Like what you said before, Slot is safe, working on guhei for Jan and also Semenyo.
What you gain from all of this BS you spitting?
2
06 Dec 2025 20:15:37
All good things come to an end. Thanks for everything Mo, and for signing the new
Contract so that we get a fee for you.
4
06 Dec 2025 20:37:48
He won’t come back from AFCON.
Interesting words from dom to after the game - what goes on in the dressing room stays there. He brought that up himself to.
1
06 Dec 2025 20:58:34
Salah has been poor and needed dropping for sure .
But interesting info Ned. Perhaps something going on in terms of tactics. salah thinking this isn't working and we need to stop playing this BS .
Have a great weekend!
0
06 Dec 2025 21:01:12
Whoa .
Easy eyals
Ned is one of the great feeders of info here. please be respectful .
1
06 Dec 2025 21:01:37
@Eyals
I never mentioned January and I strongly suggest you look up his post-match interview as I’m pretty sure that is strong evidence to show what I was alluding to.
I’m just trying to pass on the information I’m fed, I’m lucky to get things and I don’t know when that might stop.
I can easily stop sharing it if you don’t like it.
12
06 Dec 2025 21:16:59
Don’t stop sharing info Ned. Ignore the haters on here. Some don’t understand how fluid these situations are. Info is very much appreciated.
3
06 Dec 2025 21:21:44
Thx again Ned keep it coming.
1
06 Dec 2025 21:43:24
Hughes and Edwards need to bleed the Saudi's for over 100m. Salah is the star buy for them . They waste more on pointless snooker games and all kinds of dross, so of course they can afford it.
1
06 Dec 2025 21:43:48
Looking at the interview it will be January rather than summer. Hopefully the managers gone before the weekends over because the players are obviously not on board with whatever he’s after doing and it’s not worth losing one of our all time greats before the seasons out for a manager who’s unlikely to see it to the summer on the current embarrassing form he’s got us into.
1
06 Dec 2025 23:12:56
Cheers captain obvious after his truthful rant about slot. I know which one I'd rather have at liverpool.
1
07 Dec 2025 07:10:02
@whatsup
I’d like to point out that I submitted this post BEFORE that interview, I had no idea he was going to go public.
4
05 Dec 2025 17:01:18
Hi Diddly Ho, fanarinos
Semenyo and Guehi are currently the only additions I expect in January.
Semenyo is close, wouldn’t surprise me if it’s a deal done before the 1st.
Nothing to report on outgoings as of now, Endo is a likely departure - however things can change.
Diddly out.
33
05 Dec 2025 17:52:50
Appreciate the info neighbourino. Any news on Slot?
11
05 Dec 2025 18:08:32
If we somehow sneak into the top 4 and sign those 2 things start looking a lot better for the second half of the season.
Appreciate the info.
8
05 Dec 2025 18:11:42
Couldn't understand any attack addition.
We don't know even how to utilize the core players together.
We need CDM and CB to balance the squad in terms of defensive depth.
But if the best way to use Hugo, Isak and wirtz Is in diamond shape, we don’t try it before we force something. Especially when slot have no idea or plan system we are even building for so we could think the problem is in the wings.
And possibly he won’t be here next season.
So why? Why overload the squad when we don’t know what the future shape and plan will be?
9
05 Dec 2025 18:42:49
I don’t get all the criticism of signing two top class strikers, when we had lost 3. We needed two top level strikers, and there is no way even a fully fit Isak could manage a full season as our only striker.
The expenditure on strikers did not prevent us signing defenders: we brought in Leoni, and two fbs, and had the money ready for Guehi.
Mistake may have been a lack of cover to challenge Grav, but Slot was clearly worried about having likes of Szob sitting on the bench.
Drop-off in Salah’s form not totally unexpected, but Mac’s dire form (until last couple of games) has messed up all our best laid plans.
So, I don’t think our club’s strategic plans in the transfer market have been wrong - but we have a manager struggling to motivate his players from the double whammy of complacency, and grief.
20
05 Dec 2025 19:02:03
Cheers, neighbour!
1
05 Dec 2025 20:12:05
Can Semenyo play for us on Saturday?
3
05 Dec 2025 21:38:44
i think we need a true DM, Gravenberch isn't one, the defence needs help and a DM would give them that, if only we there is a Maschereno in the making available.
Get a DM and replace Macallistar as i don't know what his role is.
6
05 Dec 2025 21:42:58
Semenyos defensive side is a big impact most are overlooking. His ability to get back and help out is far better than what we have and will benefit Kerkez or the RBs we have.
12
05 Dec 2025 22:05:30
Hey Flanders, I can see your doodle.

don't understand why we would sign semenyo in january when he is going to the AFCON! can't see it happening at all.
0
06 Dec 2025 03:44:45
ASB, Semenyo won't be at the AFCON. Ghana didn't qualify.
9
06 Dec 2025 08:25:08
Cheers Ned 👍🏻.
1
06 Dec 2025 08:40:30
If by any chance Guehi doesn't happen or he chooses to go somewhere else, are there any plans to bring another CB reinforcement?
0
06 Dec 2025 08:48:57
Can’t see Guehi moving until the summer when Glasners gone from Palace, although with Glasner leaving Parish may well say let’s cash in and not be too bothered what he thinks this time around.
If we could get the palace right back as well that would be a good window. Maybe Wharton too. Better just buy Palace, or their recruitment team.
2
06 Dec 2025 09:47:52
Diaz, Nunez and, tragically, Jota aren’t with the club this season. Three attackers gone, replaced by Ekitike and Isak. What would we want to replace the first team squad attackers with just one player?
2
06 Dec 2025 09:53:13
oh wow, that is shocking but you are right, they were top of their world cup qualifier so i just assumed they qualified for the afcon which has easier qualifiers! My bad, SIGN HIM UP!
1
06 Dec 2025 10:12:25
One thing that Slot does need to account for is his misuse of Endo. He may not be a world class midfielder but he’s a solid, workmanlike midfielder (Milner esq) and could have done so much for the squad than he’s been allowed to do. Slots really done him dirty.
2
06 Dec 2025 10:22:14
Ekitike was essentially the Jota replacement, but due to circumstances he’s ended up starting a lot of games. It was probably thought he could play off the left a bit as well, although not seen much evidence of that yet.
I’m not convinced he’ll be satisfied with being seen as a squad player. Some players are good off the bench, not sure he’s one of them. It will depend on Isaks game time, if Isak stays fit and Hugo becomes a bit part player I reckon he won’t hang around for long.
1
06 Dec 2025 10:46:01
I agree Hugo he is definitely a starting quality player but I think he understands the requirement for rotation to keep everyone fit. I think him and Isak will rotate like Diaz and gakpo did last season in the long term and if we were doing much better I don’t think he’d mind.
1
06 Dec 2025 12:00:55
I'm not into ball winners and don't understand how that would help anyway when a most of the goals we concede are from a long ball that cuts out the midfield, set pieces or crosses. It's like when we a load of my mates where screaming to sign Paul Ince when I was a kid. My argument was that we don't need to win the ball as we usually had about 70% of it anyway. Its what u do when u have it that counts.
Ince was not great for us and gone 2 years later I believe. The point is we need to be more assertive when we have the ball. Plus I'm sorry to say that even tho I kind of agree that the tactics and style of play are bad, surely the captain needs to step up to. At the moment he's a hand thrower and finger wagger but if he's the captain he needs to stop that and lead the team.
1
06 Dec 2025 12:53:16
Nothing to update on Slot.
The board believe he is the right person to get through this patch, however coaches elsewhere are being monitored.
It’s one of those where the support is there until it isn’t, and when it isn’t that’s usually when they’re no longer in charge, it’s about reading between the lines.
I do know that Klopp could be an interim option if Slot was to leave his post, Glasner is not an option.
Iraola and Xabi would be the best fits long-term. Couple of other names I’ve heard in conversation are Inzaghi and Flick. Doesn’t mean any of these coaches would be our next - but as of these past 3/ 4 weeks, my sources have given me those names.
I do believe the club will make a change if change is seen as needed - they’re not keeping Slot because they don’t want to look like they made the wrong choice.
We are in unprecedented times as a club, fans have every right to criticise but I just ask that we continue to support every member of the club, through the hard times as we have through our success.
10
06 Dec 2025 13:14:56
Well said Ned :)
0
06 Dec 2025 14:19:50
Happy to hear that Glasner would not be considered, Ned. I get bad vibes from him.
It does look like they are willing to let Slot work his way out of this. I just don't see it as we get worse game by game.
1
06 Dec 2025 15:10:37
It makes no sense. if Slot was making changes in tactics and style then ok, maybe he would have more support from the fans.
But we are not seeing anything that shows that he is willing to make the necessary changes.
If anything. he's simply just sticking to his guns and hoping for the best.
If the board won't make the decision, then I feel like the players will eventually make the decision for them, because they just don't look like they believe in this new style.
2
06 Dec 2025 17:23:52
JLC you nailed it. Slot's insanity is making us all the same way. I don't see what the players can buy into. It's not apparent to any of us either. The plan seems to be don't get injured it's a long season.

Rumours of City in for Guehi as they see him as a Stones replacement. With Palace after a replacement City could offer Ake or Akanji. Depends on who Guehi wants but Palace still want £35m. Semenyo also wanted by City but they want to wait until next summer when his price drops below £60m which Bournemouth prefer.

35m for a player who is out of contract in five months?

Sounds like Palace setting the conditions of a January sale to me ie Pay top dollar or no dice.
Unless there is a deal agreed between now and the 1st January, I would stay away from Palace and focus on other targets.

How does everyone feel about our current form affecting potential targets?
Is Slotball enough to make these players turn us down or is that too near sighted?
I worry we're a lot less attractive to players because of Slot and the way we seem to play, may be a bit harsh. It would be a bitter pill to swallow if they both end up at city.

Not a hope in hell i'd be paying £35m for Guehi in Jan, no one will. Palace know that too, they know he wants us and they know we'll probably bid at 15m. They are simply hoping to meet in the middle but they won't even get that.

Didn't Carra allude to the fact Palace want what we paid in the summer. Hopefully £20m will get it done.

He's too good for a european club not to come in and get him on a free, its just wether or not Palace can get a replacement.
Do you sell him cheap and be a cb down for the rest of the season or keep him playing then lose him for free?
I wouldn't have thought Slotball would dissuade players joining however if Semenyo has the choice of us or City as things stand right now he might well fancy the latter if the release clause is triggered.

Just pay the money that's why we lost out in the summer if we had paid the money at the beginning of the window we wouldn't have been scrambling on the last day.

05 Dec 2025 14:51:26
Even on our worst possible form City have barely been any better, and Pep'll leg it next summer when he goes trophyless again.

I'm fed up reading these comments again re Guehi
Pay the fee get the player. All this type of bollox is why we missed out last summer. This kid is excellent I promise you! He is honest, gives his all and truly will be a super star at Anfield.
My own preference would be buy him at the price they want. Even give the their 10% sell on if that's what they want. This lad will stay at Anfield for the rest of his playing days.
He is a Class Act. He must be a Liverpool player before the World Cup starts.

If we really want to sign Guehi, he could be a liverpool player for many years, there are many teams wanting to sign him, so just pay the price and bring him to Anfield, let's stop moaning about Konate and just sign Guehi up ASAP.

worzal69 You mustn't have been paying much attention during the Summer because the price has absolutely nothing to do with why we didn't get Guehi.

Some rumours around today that Glasner is now favoured as the replacement if Arne has to go.

As of after PSV, the only interim that was immediately available was Gary O'Neil, former Wolves.
Hughes Edwards stepping up efforts to find appropriate interim. Slot might get Xmas if we avoid embarrassing big defeats.

If you say so….

I can only assume that you actually mean available from the club's shortlist of potential interims.
Obviously Gerrard is not overly busy and would jump at the chance. Then there is Zinedine Zidane, Xavi Hernández, Erik ten Hag, Edin Terzić, Thiago Motta, Brendan Rodgers, Gareth Southgate, Graham Potter and Bruno Lage (to name but a few) who have all managed at the top level and are currently out of work.
I'm not saying that I (or the club) would want any of these but they are very much 'available'.

Not that I would want him at Liverpool, but Gary O'Neil seems like a half decent coach.
Ironically, it was Richard Hughes who hired him and sacked him at Bournemouth :)

I can’t really see an interim now as it would have happened. Seems like they’re waiting it out and want a permanent person in post, even if that’s Arne.
Very few personalities could really galvanise these players short term anyway, other than someone like Jurgen or someone like an Ancellotti who carries respect. Neither of which are available or would do it.
What we saw with Hughes last season was very little transfer business despite some noise and murmuring from fans.
They play a longer game and won’t get swayed by fan discontent unless it’s more visible and public and starts to get directed at them as well as the team.

@Hugo, why would it “have happened”? Is it because it would be what you would do if you owned the club? Or did 5he club put a statement out about passing a deadline to bring in a temporary replacement?

The owners aren’t fans, it won’t bother them what performances on the pitch are like unless we don’t finish top 4. At that point their investment gets impacted. If there’s something that needs to be done to prevent that they’d sanction it I’m sure.
We’ve picked up 4 points from the last two games, if we continue to average two points a game we’d end the season on 70 points. That’s usually just enough for a third or fourth place finish. So if I was the owner, and we keep on that trajectory I’d leave any thought of changes until the end of the season.
My preference if there needs to be a change in coach would be a permanent one. I’d only make an interim change if the home crowd turn hostile, the fans voice is usually the best judge of where we’re at.

The club's scouting delegation flew out to Denmark and one player they were assessing was M21-year-ol's 21-year-old defender Ousmane Diao.
Diao scored, siding his side to a clean sheet and a 6-0 victory in what was pretty much the perfect performance. Despite his young age, Diao already has over 100 senior appearances under his belt. He's played over 50 games for Midtjylland and has proved to be a threat from set-pieces scoring 10 goals during his time with the club so far.
On the ball, he's a composed defender. He can hit it long and make cross-field switches that help progress his side quickly into advantageous positions. His accuracy when finding teammates with long passes is also very good.
His biggest strength is his speed. Diao is insanely fast, and he's very quick at surrounding his attacker to completely swallow up their space.
He's strong in his duels, sticks tight to his opponents and is very good at taking the ball from them using his upper body strength and his long legs to pry the ball away from their feet. At 21-years-old, he's not the finished article, but there's so much to like about him.
He can and has also played as a right-back. He can play as a defender in a back four and in a back three as well. His best position is the RCB role, where he covers a lot of ground and defends the channels really well.
He could improve his aerial duels and he doesn't quite win as much as he should.
Overall, he has exciting potential. His speed makes him an ideal candidate for the Premier League and an ideal replacement for Konate. In fact he could even be a replacement for Gomez because of his ability to play in the right-back role.
The fact that Liverpool are now watching him live would suggest the club are taking steps to make a move for him and seriously considering him as a potential option.

Sounds interesting mc. Something for January would you think or the summer maybe. Hopefully as an addition to guehi, semenyo and ederson.

He sounds like a potential beast. Cheers for the info mate. Hopefully its something awesome. Much prefer the idea of finding gems as opposed to spending the world on so called “proven” players.

@aoe, spot on, identify young talent with bags of potential every time for me, especially those who want to come to the club rather than for the money.

Interesting profile with plenty of games under his belt. Feedback I have had from folk who have watched him in Denmark is that he might struggle to step up to the PL.

And I’ll second that FlyPelican. He is mainly playing to the right in a 3-man defense. He is also playing in a team that’s head and shoulders above the rest of the teams in the league (bar perhaps FC Copenhagen) . Players like Franculino, Osorio and Castillo, whom all have been linked with big moves over the last couple of years.
Even the very best players in the Danish Superliga very rarely make a successful direct move to the PL. And then to do it to a top team. Can’t remember anyone but Daniel Agger and Peter Schmeichel who have successfully done that.

DAN-ISH
Kasper Schmeichel
Thomas Sorensen
Christian Eriksen (pre-United)
Arguably all had good PL careers.

Lofty, I wasn’t saying that Danish players, bar the mentioned, hasn’t had good careers. I said that not many has managed a successful transition from the Danish Superliga to the PL. None of those you mentioned went straight from Denmark to the PL.
