Hey Ed's

Is leny Yoro a realistic target this summer seen a few articles on him and us but it does state Madrid are really keen and psg could go all in on him .

Not seen him play only seen the highlight reel but he looks like a very good reader of the game for a young lad and he looks exceptional on the ball also again YouTube made lazar markovich look like the next messi so thought to seek the input of the gurus and see what the real deal is on the lad . Definitely looks a talent like.

Dhfc

{Ed002's Note - No.}

1.) 25 May 2024 11:41:03
Best young CB talent in the world right now.

2.) 25 May 2024 12:18:45
@FPF - that’s one of those statements we’re we need to imagine the words “in my opinion” at the start isn’t it?

3.) 25 May 2024 12:47:06
Quansa, best young CB will continue to develop and in my opinion will push Konate out the team and he will be requesting a move, any Cb brought in will be to replace Konate and Virg long term. Last 3 games he grew in confidence. Huge potential.

4.) 25 May 2024 12:47:37
WDW - well, that’s just like your opinion, man.

5.) 25 May 2024 14:09:40
???@FPF.

6.) 25 May 2024 14:35:14
Never seen him, you think he be worth that kind of money then FPF?

7.) 25 May 2024 15:07:05
June, not sure what fee is being touted but if you are looking for a Virgil successor then Yoro is it. Obviously PSG and Real think so.

8.) 25 May 2024 17:06:37
Even though he plays RCB instead of LCB, is that right FPF?

9.) 25 May 2024 17:42:08
Van Dijk and a new CB beside him with Konate and Quansah as cover is the way to go. Sign players to start and make the current starters the squad players.

10.) 25 May 2024 18:12:50
Liverbirdsoars - he’s that good it doesn’t matter.

11.) 25 May 2024 18:26:38
Ok FPF, hopefully we get him so?. don't necessarily agree with that Onekiss, any new guy has to prove he's better than the other 2.We shouldn't forget how good ibou Was for most of the season.

12.) 25 May 2024 19:32:19
Sadly, it looks unlikely. He’s in the Mendes stable so Real, PSG beckons.

{Ed002's Note - Or somewhere else?}

13.) 25 May 2024 20:15:49
Yeah Ed - basically not LFC.

{Ed002's Note - Leny Yoro (CB) Lille kiddie who already has PSG, Chelsea and Real Madrid declaring an interest. Manchester City and Manchester United have sent scouts and Manchester City may be keen to do something. May have been noticed by Liverpool when scouting another player against Nantes, but no declared interest at this time - regardless of reports saying they will pay €90M plus for him. And Liverpool have preferred CB targets. Lille will resist a sale and continue to work on a new contract unless someone pays significantly over the odds for him - but if a new contract cannot be agreed they will need to reduce their asking price as he moves in to the final year of his contract. Chelsea has a preferred option but Real Madrid may push but knowing the player has made it clear he wants to join them - and that perhaps putting PSG off rather. Lille will ask for a player on loan as part of any deal with Real Madrid or Chelsea with specific players already mentioned.}

14.) 26 May 2024 07:57:23
Don’t think he’s a Chelsea graduate so doubt we’re interested.

Please say he’s not coming to the premier league Ed002.

{Ed002's Note - He may be, but he wants Real Madid.}

15.) 26 May 2024 10:46:58
That’s ok, he can go to Madrid and become like Varane.

{Ed002's Note - I don't think that is a good reason to turn on the youngster Ron.}

16.) 26 May 2024 11:19:31
€90m on an 18 year old has Chelsea/ Real Madrid written all over it. Think about some of the teen stars in football who tailed off to varying degrees after all the hype.

Walcott - Next Henry
Vaughan - Next Rooney
Januzaj - better than Ronaldo
Macheda - Next Van Nistelrooy
Ceballos - Next Xavi
Flanagan - Scouse Cafu
Smith-Rowe - Croydon De Bruyne
Sanches - future Balon D’or winner
Rodwell - future England captain
Barkley - better than Gerrard

If I’m spending €90m on a player I want someone with at least 3 years of top quality performances behind them. If I want a teenager with potential then I’ll take someone out the academy for free, please. I’ve only seen Yoro play a couple of times in the Europa league but from that admittedly small sample size he looks like he’s still developing. Not the right signing in my opinion even if he is potentially going to be top class. We don’t need to take risks. I’m still ecstatic we dodged Romeo Lavia who everyone convinced themselves wasn’t just a run of the mill academy product having a half decent break through campaign. He’s a prime example why you don’t sign teenagers for big money. For every 1 Rooney you get 50 Lavia’s.

17.) 26 May 2024 11:33:15
Very harsh on Lavia. He got injured. I was one of those that hoped we would sign him after our Ugarte chase ended. We can’t say he’s washed already.

18.) 26 May 2024 11:49:21
Cheers Ed. So what you’re saying is Liverpool could sign him by paying over the odds. You can’t get my hopes up like that lol.

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool has different targets in mind.}

19.) 26 May 2024 13:54:07
We should really be giving Van den Berg a chance. Him + VVD Konate Quansah are Gomez is more than good enough in terms of CB options, our problem defensively last season was coaching / tactics not individual quality.

20.) 26 May 2024 17:03:43
I’m sure Yoro is talented, but if we pay €90m for a CB this summer it better be Saliba, Dias or Bastoni. No other CB’s in Europe right now are worth that much.

21.) 26 May 2024 19:47:00
Not turning on him Ed002, Verane did well as a young French centre back in Madrid.

22.) 26 May 2024 21:21:08
I understand anyone coming in needing to prove they’re better or earn their spot but we haven’t won any of the big prizes for years I think the current players are still trying to prove they’re good enough. Bring top players in and have the current lads fight for their places back.

23.) 27 May 2024 04:54:50
Out of genuine curiosity, what sort of “a chance” should SvdB get in the coming pre-season? Hasn’t he been given a chance in the last three pre-seasons? Hasn’t he been monitored by the club whilst on loan for the past three seasons? What is it that is going to be different this pre-season? I get it’s a new manager this pre-season but . i reckon the last one and his staff knew what they were doing.

24.) 27 May 2024 07:52:05
He was too good to sit on the bench or be playing for the reserves, he's still really young and allowing him to play every week at a high level was clearly the best option. Personally I'd like us to load him out to a prem team this year.

25.) 27 May 2024 08:19:51
WDW, in 2/ 3 previous pre-seasons he's been packed off to his loan clubs late June or early July so we've barely seen him in a red shirt. Was the right thing to do as he got to spend those 2 pre-seasons with his loan clubs. But as a result he's only actually spent one full pre-season at the club in the last 3 seasons and he got 45 minutes of pitch time in a friendly against Crystal Palace.

I think all people want is him to be given a fair crack and maybe even start the season with us. He can always move on in January if things don't work out. Surely that is better than spending 60-90m euros on some other 18-22 year old CB from Europe? Sepp's got every bit as much chance to succeed as they would given his performances last season.

14 Aug 2023 10:23:12
We've agreed a deal with saints for lavia I was hoping it was all over this madness ???.

Dhfc

1.) 14 Aug 2023 10:29:47
Here we go again. who will the player choose.

2.) 14 Aug 2023 10:31:13
Imagine if he rejects us too after all that happened I do not exclude that.

3.) 14 Aug 2023 10:48:05
Also seen a report where its stats we've agreed to pay £60mill. If true then what a farce.

4.) 14 Aug 2023 10:54:00
Bonkers money plus reports the player wants Chelsea. Let them have him I say TBH, he's not a magic bullet for this team at his age and experience level - huge gamble.

5.) 14 Aug 2023 10:54:48
If true, and then he does end up picking chelsea, it would be an awful look for the negotiating team.

Caicedo was worth a shot, and we would have got the go ahead from the agent (at least I expect so) to go after that deal. Imo, that's just football and you move on.

However, if you wanted a player for £45m, moved on to someone over twice as much, to move back to the oringal player for 15m more, and still don't secure the player because he prefers Chelsea. It would definitley leave a sour taste in the mouth and really put the pressure on the powers that be.

Alternativley, we get the player for £60m and still look a bit foolish for not just paying the £50m they originally asked for.

As I have said in a previous post, there is a scenario where both Liverpool and Chelsea overpay on their targets by about 15m because they each got involved in the other deal instead of just biting the bullet and accepting the selling clubs terms. I. e. 50m for lavia or 100m for Caicedo.

6.) 14 Aug 2023 10:55:02
Holy crap. just pay little more and get florentino luis only.

7.) 14 Aug 2023 11:02:04
we wanted the player
If the opportunity is still and we have the cash then we should lick our wounds and make the deal.

8.) 14 Aug 2023 11:10:17
I can't believe how few suitable, top level DCM's there are available. We can't take another Naby sized risk.
FSG's MO is going to come under pressure with the ridiculous state of the market, and Jurgen already looked and sounded a bit stressed in his presser.

9.) 14 Aug 2023 11:15:34
Indecision, poor "negotiating instincts" or whatever you want to call it, or maybe just the inability to close a deal for whatever reason is proving to be very expensive for Liverpool. I'm a fan of Lavia, but after Fabinho's departure I'm unsure he's the type of player that's a top priority right now. Definitely seems to be a reaction to Caicedo going to Chelsea. Not sure I'm keen on LFC getting into an arms race with a club that has better resources than them either. Liverpool were better off when they followed a model and stuck to it in a disciplined manner.

10.) 14 Aug 2023 11:16:05
So embarrassing.

11.) 14 Aug 2023 11:19:10
I know we don't get on to finances here, but if it's anywhere near true that we could have wrapped Lavia up for 48m/ 50m with no other offers and now he's costing 60m, someone needs reprimanding because it's farcical

Only way that's stomachable is if the payment terms are more favourable based on more money but a longer term.

12.) 14 Aug 2023 11:28:19
One of the strangest transfer windows we've seen for a while from us.

Mac and Szobo looked like shrewd additions but it's been bad, public business since.

13.) 14 Aug 2023 11:31:33
Where’s all the people defending the club and their apparent logic for not thinking he was worth £50 mill so being justified in walking away?! I repeat, we are a mess and this last few weeks has been a shambles with us aimlessly trying to get a DM in and now paying over the odds for one we could have got weeks ago with proper planning and diligence.

14.) 14 Aug 2023 11:31:38
If he's going to Chelsea to get an 8yr deal on good money like MC then let Chelsea have him. He must know he's not going to be first choice. However if he still wants a decent wage and will play regularly then surely he'll be advised to join us. I only want the latter kind of player at LFC, not just money motivated ones.

{Ed002's Note - Why would he not play regularly for Chelsea?}

15.) 14 Aug 2023 11:32:49
Feel sorry for Lavia. It's been a long saga with us chasing him and then we drop the interest overnight and go for someone else at over twice the price. Wouldn't blame Lavia for walking away from LFC now if Southampton have accepted the offer.

16.) 14 Aug 2023 11:40:09
Prices are insane. Definitely seems like an overpayment where we are paying for his potential.

However I do like the player and think he has the potential to be a top class player. Potentially world class.

I'm just going to have to ignore prices. I'm definitely hoping we get him now.

17.) 14 Aug 2023 11:49:40
If we’d bid £50m we wouldn’t have got Lavia because Chelsea have shown they also want him so would’ve bid higher.

Honestly, people are just losing their minds over nothing here it’s transfer negotiations and sometimes you win, sometimes you don’t.

Get a grip.

18.) 14 Aug 2023 12:31:19
The trolls are out in force today. Its worse than the 13th.

19.) 14 Aug 2023 12:49:19
Chill - we get someone else.

20.) 14 Aug 2023 14:45:24
Club needs a proper set up, with a director of football with a vision and authority.

Not some retired guy in Germany on 3 a month summer job. Amateur hour.

Absentee owners sitting in Boston watching baseball doesn't help.

21.) 14 Aug 2023 15:12:50
I agree with you, Red67. I always thought Mike Gordon did a really good job running the entire operation. He was able to keep JK in check. Since he's stepped back and Billy Hogan took charge things have been a bit of a mess. A club once a leader in research and analytics no longer how to put that incredible competitive advantage into practice. JK seems to have won a power struggle too and different sectors of the operation just feel out of sync. These are the fruits that weak leadership bears.

22.) 14 Aug 2023 15:49:35
I feel like I have to note too that I like JK, but I don't believe he's perfect. He's brilliant and has completely transformed Liverpool, but still needs a good boss above him. like most of us do.

23.) 14 Aug 2023 21:28:52
If teams stop including release clauses in player contracts, we will never sign a first-team level player again.

08 Jul 2023 08:11:40
Hey Ed's

I remember the name florentino luis of benfica being spoken of at times last season

Is he prem ready?
And is he still very costly as I remember that being the 2 major points he may need another year and would be expensive.

Cheers.

Dhfc

{Ed002's Note - Florentino (DM) Scouts continue to watch Benfica but they have no interest in selling Florentino Luis unless his buy out clause is met or nearly matched - they are aware MIlan see him as an option to replace Tonali but will look for a lower price but will be able to offer a player in exchange as well. Seen by Barcelona as a potential Busquets replacement., but, too expensive although they would look to include a player or two.Borussia Dortmund and Liverpool spoke with his agent last summer. Manchester City want to upgrade Kalvin Phillips and Florentino fits the bill. For Liverpool he would realistically be a Fabinho replacement but they are looking at others. PSG were interested but have moved for Ugarte. Napoli and Arsenal offer less likely options.}

30 Jun 2023 18:57:22
The annoying little sod that is fabrizio Romano
Has put his little HERE WE GO on
Szoslobai deal we've met the full release clause it has been stated .

Dhfc

1.) 30 Jun 2023 19:14:23
But, we've got no money!

2.) 30 Jun 2023 19:19:30
Raided the biscuit money tin, to pull this off.

{Ed025's Note - and hopefully you have got a cracker FW.. :)

3.) 30 Jun 2023 19:36:11
Don't think you really mean that ed025.

{Ed025's Note - i do port, i like to hob nob with the best of them, he might run like a penguin but he seems a real cool cookie who has scored a couple of jaffa,s, and at least your not scraping the bottom of the barrel with this one mate.. :)

4.) 30 Jun 2023 19:41:59
On form tonight ed25.

{Ed025's Note - except with the horses FW, i have got less in my account than Farhad Moshiri mate.. :)

5.) 30 Jun 2023 19:57:24
What’s annoying about it? Here we go aren’t u happy he broke some transfer news.

6.) 30 Jun 2023 20:21:59
This whole “we have no money” narrative is nonsense. We are wise with our money and have plenty of it. We don’t have oil money, I’ll grant that, but we are a huge premier league club. Of course we have money. We just aren’t stupid with it or offer what is obscene amounts of money for some dude with a fancy name that does step overs.

{Ed025's Note - spot on monty..

7.) 30 Jun 2023 20:55:47
Note to self :Remind me to not go for a bevy Monty.

8.) 30 Jun 2023 21:10:19
The right player at the right price.

As you say Monty, we don’t have money to waste and we don’t have cash to write of, say, £ 64m mistakes like Keita but that doesn’t mean to say that the club doesn’t try to get the right player at the right price.

9.) 30 Jun 2023 21:11:16
The only people saying the club has no money are the impatient ones.
Just read that the Anfield’s capacity for next season will be 61,000, that's kind of crept up on me somewhat, things moving in the right direction.
I am very much looking forward to next season.

10.) 30 Jun 2023 21:37:13
Dominik Szoboszlai, welcome to Liverpool our new No.8.

11.) 30 Jun 2023 21:50:41
The club shop’s going to have to stock up on Z’s there!

Not sure they were needed before?

Happy weekend people ?.

12.) 30 Jun 2023 22:06:44
Oops my apologies to NuneZ and DiaZ!

13.) 30 Jun 2023 22:14:58
Even before we'd made these two signings, I was already excited about next season. It was so obvious that this season was a blip, and that we were going to spend big. The anti-FSG lobby just wasn't making sense when they moaned about 'season after season of no trophies and no spending, ' and how FSG were only in it for the money.

It's simple: FSG can only make money if Liverpool are successful on the pitch. They want us to get back to the top as much as any fan. And they know how to do it, because they've done it before.

I'm not saying they're perfect owners, but I was always confident this summer would be exciting, and that next season will be a return to form.

Pretty good work so far, considering the transfer window opens tomorrow.

14.) 30 Jun 2023 22:52:58
Where was the money last summer when we desperately needed midfielders?

15.) 30 Jun 2023 23:22:36
@jay dub

Made up with the news just hate how Romano is seen as some kind of guru and he basically lends his name to other journalists / scoops and he making out as if because he says HERE WE GO
He’s the 1st to announce or he is the pinnacle of football transfer announcements.
The Ed’s give us much more than RAY ROMANO
He just gets under my skin . It’s not healthy how much he annoys me but he does
Making a living out of others is my opinion.

16.) 30 Jun 2023 23:40:12
It's like the classic what have the Romans ever dome for us skit from Monty Python ?.

17.) 01 Jul 2023 00:02:38
I actually don’t mind him @Dhfc, provided you take him for what he is.

Before he has heard definitely from his sources he is very careful not to say anything will definitely happen but once he hears actual confirmation he shares the information. From a Liverpool perspective I’m very happy to hear him say that a deal has been done.

18.) 01 Jul 2023 00:17:39
Oh by the way can every LFC fan reach back into the bowels of their couch and send their pennies found to PO Box 1952 Liverpool, as it seems Liverpool FC have no money, according to some.
Get In There Szoboszlai!

19.) 01 Jul 2023 01:50:47
@Hessle, I think we had the money to make a ‘big’ signing in midfield last summer. I’ve got no concrete evidence to back it up but I think we were after Tchouameni or Bellingham but the former wanted Real Madrid and Dortmund wanted to keep the latter. I think at that point the club thought we had enough coverage in midfield for us to challenge again in the season just gone.

Then I think two things happened that couldn’t be predicted. First we had a number of mids get injured in preseason which forced the panic loan of Melo, which didn’t actually help and actually cost us money. The second one was that when the season started out form dipped woefully particularly in the midfield. I strongly suspect that if the club had known it was going to happen they would have bought a couple of mids and tried to ship some out.

The club made mistakes but they can’t be blamed for being psychic and to say they couldn’t afford to buy anyone is just a made-up story to beat the club up.

06 Jun 2023 08:27:43
Morning Ed's

I see links to Marcus thuram have emerged but are these lazy journalists or is their anything in it?

Only way I see it being plausible is if jota was to leave

What's your take on this Ed's.

Dhfc

{Ed002's Note - Marcus Thuram (S/LW) Bayern Munich interest may well have gone like the interest of Spurs which went after they added Richarlison last summer. Arsenal interest went when signing Trossard. Inter are still hovering around the player and have made an offer. Atletico will look to him as a Cunha replacement and have also made an offer. Don't discount RBL or Manchester United looking to the Free Agent. Chelsea interest has gone. Juventus, PSG and Newcastle provide wildcard options.}

1.) 06 Jun 2023 10:09:40
Jota is our best goal scorer …. and hopefully will be for a long time .

2.) 06 Jun 2023 10:16:26
Jota is a lot better than Marcus Thuram IMO. Scores more goals and has done it in the Premier League.

3.) 06 Jun 2023 13:46:13
Surely our best goal scorer is the player who scores the most goals, Salah. Isn’t scoring goals the very definition of goal scorer?

4.) 06 Jun 2023 13:47:30
I was merely trying to point out that jota is the most likely to depart from our front 5 and would fetch a nice sum as his stock is still somewhat high .
Diaz gakpo and nunez going nowhere and salah is on big wages so don’t see anyone chasing him too hard .

I wouldn’t be opposed to jota leaving and thuram replacing him but equally happy with jota being a squad option think thuram gives a bit more of a presence upfront than jota and offers something a bit different.

5.) 06 Jun 2023 15:41:30
I'm not sure I see the need for a 6th attacker when we already have 5 attackers who are either world class or developing into being world class. If Thuram were to join, someone would likely need to leave.

6.) 06 Jun 2023 16:22:51
Who is world class and who is developing into world class?

7.) 06 Jun 2023 18:20:17
I was a little generous implying we have more than one world class attacker. Salah is still a world class player though, easily. Nunez has the ability but needs confidence/ consistency. Gakpo and Diaz both have shown flashes where they could reach that level. Jota is of lesser skill than the other 4, but all he does is score when healthy and he's strong on the press. Personally I like playing him ahead of the others because I think execution of the press is vital to how we play.

8.) 06 Jun 2023 18:24:54
And with that all said, Marcus Thuram isn't close to being able to take a spot away from any of those 5 players.

9.) 06 Jun 2023 19:11:57
Let’s hope one or more of the new boys really steps up next year.

10.) 06 Jun 2023 19:33:29
Haha, every time I see Navy Keith’s name pop up on this it cracks me up.

11.) 06 Jun 2023 20:34:35
@TB2, can I have your autograph please?

Any update on gakpo Ed's

I was hoping to see him on the bench against Southampton and maybe 15/ 20 under his belt before psg . I was also hoping gravenberch got a rest v saints and to see the mercurial endo instead but slot has his guys and that much is clear . Endo will be needed on Tuesday I'm almost certain of it .

Last 1/ 4 of season left to navigate now and hopefully Bradley won't be too far off aswell

Any info be much appreciated ??.

Dhfc

{Ed001's Note - he is borderline to be available for the PSG game. I am not expecting Bradley back this month.}

1.) 09 Mar 2025 11:37:00
I highly doubt it will happen, but I would love to see endo start against psg. Nunez too, I seriously hope Jota does not start that game.

2.) 09 Mar 2025 11:49:11
I think Darwin should start that game vs PSG judgung by his actual performaces and impact over the past two games alone. Jota can always come off the bench if needed.

3.) 09 Mar 2025 13:46:19
Would be difficult to bring Gakpo back into a massive and intense game after almost a month out.

Perhaps he can get some minutes off the bench if he is ready to return.

4.) 09 Mar 2025 13:47:37
I concur that Darwin deserves to start on Tuesday after his last 2 performances.

Was a little silly in the first half with that challenge and even though it was never realistically a red card it could have been and then we would have been right in the s##t.

1 goal, 1 assist and a penalty won on his last 90 odd mins of football is really good though.

5.) 09 Mar 2025 13:48:17
Got to be Darwin against PSG. Chaos for 70 mins to give them something to think about then sub him for Jota to get a Jota special to wrap it up.
Endo in the last half hour to not just shut the door on them but lock it. ??.

6.) 09 Mar 2025 15:19:50
I think Darwin is more effective from the bench. I think the better approach is to play the same formation that we played against Villa and City with 4 midfielders and Salah and Diaz up top. It will protect us better, and give us more flexibility with the subs depending on how the game is going.

Officially we are at the start of the business end of the season now reds

Final spot up for grabs in the league cup

Exciting times to be a Red, Dhfc.
My expectations have changed massively but I'm not getting carried away.

2.) 05 Feb 2025 19:50:42
I’m very optimistic it just feels different . The desire last year knowing it was klopps last season weighed too heavy this year it’s all about each game at a time and let’s have a really good go and tactically we are much better and can win games without having to empty the tank . Last year we had to empty the tank time and time again and it caught up with us IMO.

Let’s have it .

@davey sulls where are your positivity posts c'mon ??.

3.) 06 Feb 2025 07:03:19
We will win. Everything. ?.

4.) 06 Feb 2025 07:17:24
We were too 27 games into last season and fell off a cliff. I’m sceptical but hope the drop off from City will push us on. I think it’d be a crime if we don’t win it now.

5.) 06 Feb 2025 11:55:28
Yeah, Frode. Thanks for the reminder. We remember it all and even tho, we are a much better team and under better circumstances than we were last season, we are trying to get the positive vibes going cos we have all to play for and nothing is guaranteed.

Anyone else get a little excited with Chiesas performance late on he had that unpredictable feel to him like you don't know what he's going to do .

Just wondering Ed's if he is nearing the required fitness and the 1st 3/ 4 months with the medical and fitness team chiesa is getting ready to play a decent role in the latter part of the season?

Dhfc

{Ed001's Note - is he fit? Yes.}

1.) 20 Jan 2025 00:24:12
I mean he stood still with the ball and then dropped his shoulder to shift the ball to his right foot a couple times. not exactly getting excited about that lol

But am very happy to see him get on the pitch.

2.) 20 Jan 2025 05:46:29
Chiesa has to be trusted at some point as he brings something completely different and as there is not a big sample size of him playing defenders won't know how to handle him of the bench or starring the odd game.

3.) 20 Jan 2025 07:24:31
Faith, you obviously missed the good vibes and magical aura that Chiesa brings on to the field with him. Nunez was flailing about as usual, until he felt Chiesa's presence next to him with those "dropped shoulders" and found the inspiration and shooting eye to find the nets, twice, in a few minutes. ?.

4.) 20 Jan 2025 08:29:19
Still looks off the pace but I love him as a player and know what he can do. Needs more time and minutes now - should really be playing full 90 in next 2 champs league games and in FA cup.

5.) 20 Jan 2025 09:03:42
He's fit now but he now needs game time to get the match sharpness - hopefully he will get a start tomorrow night.

6.) 20 Jan 2025 10:12:00
Yeh has to start tbe champs League games. If we get a player even 60 or 70% of what he was at his best then he'll be well worth the money.

7.) 20 Jan 2025 11:04:12
The perfect time to give Mo 10 days off. Chiesa and Harvey can cover Lille, Ipswich and PSV games. Mo can come back refreshed for the trip to Bournemouth.

8.) 20 Jan 2025 11:09:14
He has to start tomorrow or its extremely unfair on him and us fans who want to see what he can bring on the pitch.

9.) 20 Jan 2025 12:37:58
Im just happy to see player (Chiesa) I always dreamed of watching play for us actually you know, play for us in the flesh.

Whatever "Peppo" will be or not be for LFC, not too arsed about that as he still needs time to get to full strength but till then, I'll just enjoy watching him play.

16 Jan 2025 14:55:04
Just wondering ed001 if Nunez is to leave in this window would you relpace him this window and with who or would you give Danns a chance .

I really like cunha and isak but I know isak won't be available .

Dhfc

{Ed001's Note - Cunha or Danns.}

1.) 16 Jan 2025 15:12:26
Hi eds1
Are you surprised that more clubs haven’t come in for Cunha? Every time I’ve seen him he stands out like a great, strong, hard working player that’s perfect for the prem.

{Ed001's Note - yes, very surprised.}

2.) 16 Jan 2025 15:14:39
Considering the other positions we need to strengthen I'd say give Danns his chance and look at forwards in the summer. This month even if we get rid of Nunez should be about getting a LCB or a midfielder - ideally both.

3.) 16 Jan 2025 15:23:46
I thought Cunha and recently agreed a new contract so probably the summer is earliest before he moves on.

{Ed025's Note - Wolves really need Cunah WYred because he could be the difference between staying up or going down for them, i think hes a really good player mate and would not come cheap..

4.) 16 Jan 2025 15:28:50
Didn't he just sign a new contract days ago Ed? I would imagine the price would be crazy expensive.

{Ed025's Note - as far as i know Mfahmee he has agreed to the deal but nothing is signed yet mate..

5.) 16 Jan 2025 16:26:18
Couldn't agree more ed025 and probably the nature of the agreement, keep us up and here is a juicy bonus plus you can leave with our blessing. Likewise if they do drop, he'll be out of the door anyway. Player doesn't lose too much imo by waiting till the summer.

{Ed025's Note - i totally agree Wyred..

6.) 16 Jan 2025 16:36:25
Haaland if City get relegated due to 115?

7.) 16 Jan 2025 16:46:54
My guess is it would be like the contract Olise signed at Palace. He agrees to stay for a little bit longer to ensure they avoid the drop, they agree to let him leave at a reasonable price so he can have his pick of clubs. Makes sense for both parties.

8.) 16 Jan 2025 19:01:23
My guess is that we're "monitoring" Cunha.

9.) 16 Jan 2025 19:17:41
Isak will be available for 150mil. We sell Salah to Saudi, use money to buy Isak. Brilliant!

10.) 16 Jan 2025 20:06:59
Leek not many others about, maybe the sporting Lisbon…. Really think we’d spend that on Isak?

11.) 16 Jan 2025 20:25:41
There's just one flaw with your cunning plan, Leek. We won't get a penny off the Saudi's. Wibble.

12.) 17 Jan 2025 00:24:52
Danns could have something about him. Hard to tell but looks a natural finisher. He's young but I'd like to see him get more minutes against tougher opposition. Don't know I'f an attempted title run permits the expirement in the thoughts of slot. Most likely not. I love nunez for his enthusiasm but I think given the same minutes danns scores more. Hard to gauge what his overall skill set is but he seems to know what to do in front of goal.

11 Jan 2025 19:20:24
The thing I really like about Jayden danns and why I think he could be a absolute monster of a player and not trying to build him up too much but he genuinely looks like he can play big boy football now . ( he's had some growth spurt their ) .

It all looks very natural to him his movements and his finishing . Almost dare I say (Harry Kane ) obviously nowhere near kanes level but it's who he reminds me of .

I was hoping to see him start this game . Had a great 20 mins.

Dhfc

1.) 11 Jan 2025 19:52:03
I have too be honest darwin is going through hell at the minute on the pitch he doesn't even believe in himself, danns on the other hand looks hungry can hold the ball up has composure the physicality is a real bonus also, I would rather see him start than darwin now there is something about him.

2.) 11 Jan 2025 20:37:31
Definitely think nunez should be benched for his own sake, can’t do any harm playing Danns.

3.) 11 Jan 2025 21:18:12
Maybe the answer is promote Danns and move on Nunez. Get this feeling Danns is the real deal. Natural finisher, big, strong, relatively quick, good vision, skilful. Been impressed every time I’ve seen the lad.

4.) 11 Jan 2025 21:26:16
Danns could be a great player and save us a ton of money.

Slot won’t overplay him though, just bring him on for cameos and start him in domestic cups.

Feel more confident if chances are falling to him.

5.) 11 Jan 2025 23:08:51
You know what Ron, he looked like he knew what he wanted to do, where he was going to place it. That kind of composure isn’t taught. He’s a real talent.

6.) 12 Jan 2025 00:50:14
And what if Jayden danns goes through a rough patch will fans start giving him stick?
Also on slot playing the kids I don’t think he’s confident enough. Sounds daft but so far his idea on rotation has been to drop Darwin an put Diaz center. Drop szob play jones.

7.) 12 Jan 2025 01:40:47
I think Nunez’s time is coming to an end - the system we play now doesn’t really benefit from his “chaos” that much, and he just doesn’t score enough goals. Extremely hard worker, very passionate player, I really like him, but realistically he can certainly he upgraded. Danns looked good under Klopp, still looks good under Slot, he could be the answer - but he’s not going to play much here he needs loaning out to give him that experience.

8.) 12 Jan 2025 08:42:09
Danns was on the brink of a loan to Plymouth in the summer before his injury. Perhaps he might get a loan the 2nd half of this season.

9.) 12 Jan 2025 13:04:05
I've seen all 3 goals he has scored for the first team and a goal he scored vs Utd in the youth team and all 4 finishes look so calm and composed. Time seems to slow down for this kid anytime he received the ball to score.

It seemed so natural cos each situation dictated the type of finish to apply and he applied the required finish with the side of the foot needed, including the backheel vs Utd.

This sadly, is what Darwin does not possess despite having the physical tools to play the position. Great for Danns. Sad for Darwin.

10.) 13 Jan 2025 00:07:35
how do people determine that Darwin doesn't believe in himself?

Watching the match analysis and carra reckons 5/ 6 players and at 1st I thought he’s mental but after thinking I do think 5/ 6 are needed 2 forwards 2 defenders probably 3 if/ when Trent leaves and still a combative 6 aswell .

Really like the look of the lad

Looks like he’s got everything you’d want in a centre half.

Hopefully jota goes I don’t get the free ride he gets compared to nunez . Both miss chances but Nunez seems to get all the slack .

I think his time at the club is near the end.

Abysmal and we still won . Champions elect closing on the title

What a feat this will be for slot (1st season)

This should of been Arsenals year and they choked
City are in the midst of rebuild

We should have struggled and at times it’s not been easy and great to watch but Arsenal our title rivals haven’t been closer that 5 points to us since October .

This has been a great season and should not be underestimated.

Exactly why aren’t we seeing Diaz as the 9 and gakpo on the left . We seemed to be purring when that was the team . I think jota and nunez are off in the summer .

You must be one fit individual rigsby if you don’t get why szoboslai was laying down . The lad put a massive shift in I think your being really harsh their and you’re not he’s not at Gerard’s level yet but let’s hope he does hit them levels

Don’t really see the firmino likeness either I think they’re totally different but it is an opinion sport I suppose .

But I totally don’t agree that szoboslai should have just got on with it b and not lay down the lad was spent and he needed to catch his breath .

Bradley’s injury record worries me he seems to be able to put brilliant performances but he just seems to always pick injuries up after 3/ 4/ 5
Starts . I’d say we replace Trent with a 1st teamer
And allow Bradley to be back up.
