Hey Ed's

Is leny Yoro a realistic target this summer seen a few articles on him and us but it does state Madrid are really keen and psg could go all in on him .

Not seen him play only seen the highlight reel but he looks like a very good reader of the game for a young lad and he looks exceptional on the ball also again YouTube made lazar markovich look like the next messi so thought to seek the input of the gurus and see what the real deal is on the lad . Definitely looks a talent like.

{Ed002's Note - No.}

1.) 25 May 2024 11:41:03
Best young CB talent in the world right now.

2.) 25 May 2024 12:18:45
@FPF - that’s one of those statements we’re we need to imagine the words “in my opinion” at the start isn’t it?

3.) 25 May 2024 12:47:06
Quansa, best young CB will continue to develop and in my opinion will push Konate out the team and he will be requesting a move, any Cb brought in will be to replace Konate and Virg long term. Last 3 games he grew in confidence. Huge potential.

4.) 25 May 2024 12:47:37
WDW - well, that’s just like your opinion, man.

5.) 25 May 2024 14:09:40

6.) 25 May 2024 14:35:14
Never seen him, you think he be worth that kind of money then FPF?

7.) 25 May 2024 15:07:05
June, not sure what fee is being touted but if you are looking for a Virgil successor then Yoro is it. Obviously PSG and Real think so.

8.) 25 May 2024 17:06:37
Even though he plays RCB instead of LCB, is that right FPF?

9.) 25 May 2024 17:42:08
Van Dijk and a new CB beside him with Konate and Quansah as cover is the way to go. Sign players to start and make the current starters the squad players.

10.) 25 May 2024 18:12:50
Liverbirdsoars - he’s that good it doesn’t matter.

11.) 25 May 2024 18:26:38
Ok FPF, hopefully we get him so?. don't necessarily agree with that Onekiss, any new guy has to prove he's better than the other 2.We shouldn't forget how good ibou Was for most of the season.

12.) 25 May 2024 19:32:19
Sadly, it looks unlikely. He’s in the Mendes stable so Real, PSG beckons.

{Ed002's Note - Or somewhere else?}

13.) 25 May 2024 20:15:49
Yeah Ed - basically not LFC.

{Ed002's Note - Leny Yoro (CB) Lille kiddie who already has PSG, Chelsea and Real Madrid declaring an interest. Manchester City and Manchester United have sent scouts and Manchester City may be keen to do something. May have been noticed by Liverpool when scouting another player against Nantes, but no declared interest at this time - regardless of reports saying they will pay €90M plus for him. And Liverpool have preferred CB targets. Lille will resist a sale and continue to work on a new contract unless someone pays significantly over the odds for him - but if a new contract cannot be agreed they will need to reduce their asking price as he moves in to the final year of his contract. Chelsea has a preferred option but Real Madrid may push but knowing the player has made it clear he wants to join them - and that perhaps putting PSG off rather. Lille will ask for a player on loan as part of any deal with Real Madrid or Chelsea with specific players already mentioned.}

14.) 26 May 2024 07:57:23
Don’t think he’s a Chelsea graduate so doubt we’re interested.

Please say he’s not coming to the premier league Ed002.

{Ed002's Note - He may be, but he wants Real Madid.}

15.) 26 May 2024 10:46:58
That’s ok, he can go to Madrid and become like Varane.

{Ed002's Note - I don't think that is a good reason to turn on the youngster Ron.}

16.) 26 May 2024 11:19:31
€90m on an 18 year old has Chelsea/ Real Madrid written all over it. Think about some of the teen stars in football who tailed off to varying degrees after all the hype.

Walcott - Next Henry
Vaughan - Next Rooney
Januzaj - better than Ronaldo
Macheda - Next Van Nistelrooy
Ceballos - Next Xavi
Flanagan - Scouse Cafu
Smith-Rowe - Croydon De Bruyne
Sanches - future Balon D’or winner
Rodwell - future England captain
Barkley - better than Gerrard

If I’m spending €90m on a player I want someone with at least 3 years of top quality performances behind them. If I want a teenager with potential then I’ll take someone out the academy for free, please. I’ve only seen Yoro play a couple of times in the Europa league but from that admittedly small sample size he looks like he’s still developing. Not the right signing in my opinion even if he is potentially going to be top class. We don’t need to take risks. I’m still ecstatic we dodged Romeo Lavia who everyone convinced themselves wasn’t just a run of the mill academy product having a half decent break through campaign. He’s a prime example why you don’t sign teenagers for big money. For every 1 Rooney you get 50 Lavia’s.

17.) 26 May 2024 11:33:15
Very harsh on Lavia. He got injured. I was one of those that hoped we would sign him after our Ugarte chase ended. We can’t say he’s washed already.

18.) 26 May 2024 11:49:21
Cheers Ed. So what you’re saying is Liverpool could sign him by paying over the odds. You can’t get my hopes up like that lol.

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool has different targets in mind.}

19.) 26 May 2024 13:54:07
We should really be giving Van den Berg a chance. Him + VVD Konate Quansah are Gomez is more than good enough in terms of CB options, our problem defensively last season was coaching / tactics not individual quality.

20.) 26 May 2024 17:03:43
I’m sure Yoro is talented, but if we pay €90m for a CB this summer it better be Saliba, Dias or Bastoni. No other CB’s in Europe right now are worth that much.

21.) 26 May 2024 19:47:00
Not turning on him Ed002, Verane did well as a young French centre back in Madrid.

22.) 26 May 2024 21:21:08
I understand anyone coming in needing to prove they’re better or earn their spot but we haven’t won any of the big prizes for years I think the current players are still trying to prove they’re good enough. Bring top players in and have the current lads fight for their places back.

23.) 27 May 2024 04:54:50
Out of genuine curiosity, what sort of “a chance” should SvdB get in the coming pre-season? Hasn’t he been given a chance in the last three pre-seasons? Hasn’t he been monitored by the club whilst on loan for the past three seasons? What is it that is going to be different this pre-season? I get it’s a new manager this pre-season but . i reckon the last one and his staff knew what they were doing.

24.) 27 May 2024 07:52:05
He was too good to sit on the bench or be playing for the reserves, he's still really young and allowing him to play every week at a high level was clearly the best option. Personally I'd like us to load him out to a prem team this year.

25.) 27 May 2024 08:19:51
WDW, in 2/ 3 previous pre-seasons he's been packed off to his loan clubs late June or early July so we've barely seen him in a red shirt. Was the right thing to do as he got to spend those 2 pre-seasons with his loan clubs. But as a result he's only actually spent one full pre-season at the club in the last 3 seasons and he got 45 minutes of pitch time in a friendly against Crystal Palace.

I think all people want is him to be given a fair crack and maybe even start the season with us. He can always move on in January if things don't work out. Surely that is better than spending 60-90m euros on some other 18-22 year old CB from Europe? Sepp's got every bit as much chance to succeed as they would given his performances last season.

14 Aug 2023 10:23:12
We've agreed a deal with saints for lavia I was hoping it was all over this madness ???.

1.) 14 Aug 2023 10:29:47
Here we go again. who will the player choose.

2.) 14 Aug 2023 10:31:13
Imagine if he rejects us too after all that happened I do not exclude that.

3.) 14 Aug 2023 10:48:05
Also seen a report where its stats we've agreed to pay £60mill. If true then what a farce.

4.) 14 Aug 2023 10:54:00
Bonkers money plus reports the player wants Chelsea. Let them have him I say TBH, he's not a magic bullet for this team at his age and experience level - huge gamble.

5.) 14 Aug 2023 10:54:48
If true, and then he does end up picking chelsea, it would be an awful look for the negotiating team.

Caicedo was worth a shot, and we would have got the go ahead from the agent (at least I expect so) to go after that deal. Imo, that's just football and you move on.

However, if you wanted a player for £45m, moved on to someone over twice as much, to move back to the oringal player for 15m more, and still don't secure the player because he prefers Chelsea. It would definitley leave a sour taste in the mouth and really put the pressure on the powers that be.

Alternativley, we get the player for £60m and still look a bit foolish for not just paying the £50m they originally asked for.

As I have said in a previous post, there is a scenario where both Liverpool and Chelsea overpay on their targets by about 15m because they each got involved in the other deal instead of just biting the bullet and accepting the selling clubs terms. I. e. 50m for lavia or 100m for Caicedo.

6.) 14 Aug 2023 10:55:02
Holy crap. just pay little more and get florentino luis only.

7.) 14 Aug 2023 11:02:04
we wanted the player
If the opportunity is still and we have the cash then we should lick our wounds and make the deal.

8.) 14 Aug 2023 11:10:17
I can't believe how few suitable, top level DCM's there are available. We can't take another Naby sized risk.
FSG's MO is going to come under pressure with the ridiculous state of the market, and Jurgen already looked and sounded a bit stressed in his presser.

9.) 14 Aug 2023 11:15:34
Indecision, poor "negotiating instincts" or whatever you want to call it, or maybe just the inability to close a deal for whatever reason is proving to be very expensive for Liverpool. I'm a fan of Lavia, but after Fabinho's departure I'm unsure he's the type of player that's a top priority right now. Definitely seems to be a reaction to Caicedo going to Chelsea. Not sure I'm keen on LFC getting into an arms race with a club that has better resources than them either. Liverpool were better off when they followed a model and stuck to it in a disciplined manner.

10.) 14 Aug 2023 11:16:05
So embarrassing.

11.) 14 Aug 2023 11:19:10
I know we don't get on to finances here, but if it's anywhere near true that we could have wrapped Lavia up for 48m/ 50m with no other offers and now he's costing 60m, someone needs reprimanding because it's farcical

Only way that's stomachable is if the payment terms are more favourable based on more money but a longer term.

12.) 14 Aug 2023 11:28:19
One of the strangest transfer windows we've seen for a while from us.

Mac and Szobo looked like shrewd additions but it's been bad, public business since.

13.) 14 Aug 2023 11:31:33
Where’s all the people defending the club and their apparent logic for not thinking he was worth £50 mill so being justified in walking away?! I repeat, we are a mess and this last few weeks has been a shambles with us aimlessly trying to get a DM in and now paying over the odds for one we could have got weeks ago with proper planning and diligence.

14.) 14 Aug 2023 11:31:38
If he's going to Chelsea to get an 8yr deal on good money like MC then let Chelsea have him. He must know he's not going to be first choice. However if he still wants a decent wage and will play regularly then surely he'll be advised to join us. I only want the latter kind of player at LFC, not just money motivated ones.

{Ed002's Note - Why would he not play regularly for Chelsea?}

15.) 14 Aug 2023 11:32:49
Feel sorry for Lavia. It's been a long saga with us chasing him and then we drop the interest overnight and go for someone else at over twice the price. Wouldn't blame Lavia for walking away from LFC now if Southampton have accepted the offer.

16.) 14 Aug 2023 11:40:09
Prices are insane. Definitely seems like an overpayment where we are paying for his potential.

However I do like the player and think he has the potential to be a top class player. Potentially world class.

I'm just going to have to ignore prices. I'm definitely hoping we get him now.

17.) 14 Aug 2023 11:49:40
If we’d bid £50m we wouldn’t have got Lavia because Chelsea have shown they also want him so would’ve bid higher.

Honestly, people are just losing their minds over nothing here it’s transfer negotiations and sometimes you win, sometimes you don’t.

Get a grip.

18.) 14 Aug 2023 12:31:19
The trolls are out in force today. Its worse than the 13th.

19.) 14 Aug 2023 12:49:19
Chill - we get someone else.

20.) 14 Aug 2023 14:45:24
Club needs a proper set up, with a director of football with a vision and authority.

Not some retired guy in Germany on 3 a month summer job. Amateur hour.

Absentee owners sitting in Boston watching baseball doesn't help.

21.) 14 Aug 2023 15:12:50
I agree with you, Red67. I always thought Mike Gordon did a really good job running the entire operation. He was able to keep JK in check. Since he's stepped back and Billy Hogan took charge things have been a bit of a mess. A club once a leader in research and analytics no longer how to put that incredible competitive advantage into practice. JK seems to have won a power struggle too and different sectors of the operation just feel out of sync. These are the fruits that weak leadership bears.

22.) 14 Aug 2023 15:49:35
I feel like I have to note too that I like JK, but I don't believe he's perfect. He's brilliant and has completely transformed Liverpool, but still needs a good boss above him. like most of us do.

23.) 14 Aug 2023 21:28:52
If teams stop including release clauses in player contracts, we will never sign a first-team level player again.

08 Jul 2023 08:11:40
Hey Ed's

I remember the name florentino luis of benfica being spoken of at times last season

Is he prem ready?
And is he still very costly as I remember that being the 2 major points he may need another year and would be expensive.

{Ed002's Note - Florentino (DM) Scouts continue to watch Benfica but they have no interest in selling Florentino Luis unless his buy out clause is met or nearly matched - they are aware MIlan see him as an option to replace Tonali but will look for a lower price but will be able to offer a player in exchange as well. Seen by Barcelona as a potential Busquets replacement., but, too expensive although they would look to include a player or two.Borussia Dortmund and Liverpool spoke with his agent last summer. Manchester City want to upgrade Kalvin Phillips and Florentino fits the bill. For Liverpool he would realistically be a Fabinho replacement but they are looking at others. PSG were interested but have moved for Ugarte. Napoli and Arsenal offer less likely options.}

30 Jun 2023 18:57:22
The annoying little sod that is fabrizio Romano
Has put his little HERE WE GO on
Szoslobai deal we've met the full release clause it has been stated .

1.) 30 Jun 2023 19:14:23
But, we've got no money!

2.) 30 Jun 2023 19:19:30
Raided the biscuit money tin, to pull this off.

{Ed025's Note - and hopefully you have got a cracker FW.. :)

3.) 30 Jun 2023 19:36:11
Don't think you really mean that ed025.

{Ed025's Note - i do port, i like to hob nob with the best of them, he might run like a penguin but he seems a real cool cookie who has scored a couple of jaffa,s, and at least your not scraping the bottom of the barrel with this one mate.. :)

4.) 30 Jun 2023 19:41:59
On form tonight ed25.

{Ed025's Note - except with the horses FW, i have got less in my account than Farhad Moshiri mate.. :)

5.) 30 Jun 2023 19:57:24
What’s annoying about it? Here we go aren’t u happy he broke some transfer news.

6.) 30 Jun 2023 20:21:59
This whole “we have no money” narrative is nonsense. We are wise with our money and have plenty of it. We don’t have oil money, I’ll grant that, but we are a huge premier league club. Of course we have money. We just aren’t stupid with it or offer what is obscene amounts of money for some dude with a fancy name that does step overs.

{Ed025's Note - spot on monty..

7.) 30 Jun 2023 20:55:47
Note to self :Remind me to not go for a bevy Monty.

8.) 30 Jun 2023 21:10:19
The right player at the right price.

As you say Monty, we don’t have money to waste and we don’t have cash to write of, say, £ 64m mistakes like Keita but that doesn’t mean to say that the club doesn’t try to get the right player at the right price.

9.) 30 Jun 2023 21:11:16
The only people saying the club has no money are the impatient ones.
Just read that the Anfield’s capacity for next season will be 61,000, that's kind of crept up on me somewhat, things moving in the right direction.
I am very much looking forward to next season.

10.) 30 Jun 2023 21:37:13
Dominik Szoboszlai, welcome to Liverpool our new No.8.

11.) 30 Jun 2023 21:50:41
The club shop’s going to have to stock up on Z’s there!

Not sure they were needed before?

Happy weekend people ?.

12.) 30 Jun 2023 22:06:44
Oops my apologies to NuneZ and DiaZ!

13.) 30 Jun 2023 22:14:58
Even before we'd made these two signings, I was already excited about next season. It was so obvious that this season was a blip, and that we were going to spend big. The anti-FSG lobby just wasn't making sense when they moaned about 'season after season of no trophies and no spending, ' and how FSG were only in it for the money.

It's simple: FSG can only make money if Liverpool are successful on the pitch. They want us to get back to the top as much as any fan. And they know how to do it, because they've done it before.

I'm not saying they're perfect owners, but I was always confident this summer would be exciting, and that next season will be a return to form.

Pretty good work so far, considering the transfer window opens tomorrow.

14.) 30 Jun 2023 22:52:58
Where was the money last summer when we desperately needed midfielders?

15.) 30 Jun 2023 23:22:36
@jay dub

Made up with the news just hate how Romano is seen as some kind of guru and he basically lends his name to other journalists / scoops and he making out as if because he says HERE WE GO
He’s the 1st to announce or he is the pinnacle of football transfer announcements.
The Ed’s give us much more than RAY ROMANO
He just gets under my skin . It’s not healthy how much he annoys me but he does
Making a living out of others is my opinion.

16.) 30 Jun 2023 23:40:12
It's like the classic what have the Romans ever dome for us skit from Monty Python ?.

17.) 01 Jul 2023 00:02:38
I actually don’t mind him @Dhfc, provided you take him for what he is.

Before he has heard definitely from his sources he is very careful not to say anything will definitely happen but once he hears actual confirmation he shares the information. From a Liverpool perspective I’m very happy to hear him say that a deal has been done.

18.) 01 Jul 2023 00:17:39
Oh by the way can every LFC fan reach back into the bowels of their couch and send their pennies found to PO Box 1952 Liverpool, as it seems Liverpool FC have no money, according to some.
Get In There Szoboszlai!

19.) 01 Jul 2023 01:50:47
@Hessle, I think we had the money to make a ‘big’ signing in midfield last summer. I’ve got no concrete evidence to back it up but I think we were after Tchouameni or Bellingham but the former wanted Real Madrid and Dortmund wanted to keep the latter. I think at that point the club thought we had enough coverage in midfield for us to challenge again in the season just gone.

Then I think two things happened that couldn’t be predicted. First we had a number of mids get injured in preseason which forced the panic loan of Melo, which didn’t actually help and actually cost us money. The second one was that when the season started out form dipped woefully particularly in the midfield. I strongly suspect that if the club had known it was going to happen they would have bought a couple of mids and tried to ship some out.

The club made mistakes but they can’t be blamed for being psychic and to say they couldn’t afford to buy anyone is just a made-up story to beat the club up.

06 Jun 2023 08:27:43
Morning Ed's

I see links to Marcus thuram have emerged but are these lazy journalists or is their anything in it?

Only way I see it being plausible is if jota was to leave

What's your take on this Ed's.

{Ed002's Note - Marcus Thuram (S/LW) Bayern Munich interest may well have gone like the interest of Spurs which went after they added Richarlison last summer. Arsenal interest went when signing Trossard. Inter are still hovering around the player and have made an offer. Atletico will look to him as a Cunha replacement and have also made an offer. Don't discount RBL or Manchester United looking to the Free Agent. Chelsea interest has gone. Juventus, PSG and Newcastle provide wildcard options.}

1.) 06 Jun 2023 10:09:40
Jota is our best goal scorer …. and hopefully will be for a long time .

2.) 06 Jun 2023 10:16:26
Jota is a lot better than Marcus Thuram IMO. Scores more goals and has done it in the Premier League.

3.) 06 Jun 2023 13:46:13
Surely our best goal scorer is the player who scores the most goals, Salah. Isn’t scoring goals the very definition of goal scorer?

4.) 06 Jun 2023 13:47:30
I was merely trying to point out that jota is the most likely to depart from our front 5 and would fetch a nice sum as his stock is still somewhat high .
Diaz gakpo and nunez going nowhere and salah is on big wages so don’t see anyone chasing him too hard .

I wouldn’t be opposed to jota leaving and thuram replacing him but equally happy with jota being a squad option think thuram gives a bit more of a presence upfront than jota and offers something a bit different.

5.) 06 Jun 2023 15:41:30
I'm not sure I see the need for a 6th attacker when we already have 5 attackers who are either world class or developing into being world class. If Thuram were to join, someone would likely need to leave.

6.) 06 Jun 2023 16:22:51
Who is world class and who is developing into world class?

7.) 06 Jun 2023 18:20:17
I was a little generous implying we have more than one world class attacker. Salah is still a world class player though, easily. Nunez has the ability but needs confidence/ consistency. Gakpo and Diaz both have shown flashes where they could reach that level. Jota is of lesser skill than the other 4, but all he does is score when healthy and he's strong on the press. Personally I like playing him ahead of the others because I think execution of the press is vital to how we play.

8.) 06 Jun 2023 18:24:54
And with that all said, Marcus Thuram isn't close to being able to take a spot away from any of those 5 players.

9.) 06 Jun 2023 19:11:57
Let’s hope one or more of the new boys really steps up next year.

10.) 06 Jun 2023 19:33:29
Haha, every time I see Navy Keith’s name pop up on this it cracks me up.

11.) 06 Jun 2023 20:34:35
@TB2, can I have your autograph please?

04 Jun 2024 20:43:00
So a date for city has been agreed now they are suing the premier league . Wow this has no sign of ending does it . Surely this is a ploy by city to influence the trial .

What's the thoughts on all this ed1 and will this drama ever end and if so how do you see it playing out? .

Personally I think it will all disappear with more money being thrown at the powers that be . Partly why football is dying and it's becoming entertainment but it's ironic that it's less entertaining these days ??‍♂️

{Ed001's Note - they will simply bully the Prem and a new trade deal with the UAE will emerge a few months after they get away with it.}

1.) 05 Jun 2024 01:46:24
I love City’s dig about the ‘tyranny of the majority’. ???

I love the idea that they are trying to put forward a case that they are being ‘picked on’.

It really is the death of the game if they ‘get away with it’. What are the odds of that happening 5hough eh?

{Ed001's Note - odds on I would say. }

2.) 05 Jun 2024 02:30:22
Can I just say that the rules were in place when the alleged infringements occurred. City are accountable for failing (if found guilty) to comply with the rules. Saying the rules aren’t fair years and years later is irrelevant.

3.) 05 Jun 2024 02:30:46

No balls, no balls at all.

4.) 05 Jun 2024 02:34:49
Of course they'll get away with it. The powers that be had to have known what was going on. Or at least had their suspicions. If it all blew up, they'd be tarred with the same brush. No way they're handing down punishments when they also directly benefit from city cheating. At the end of the day, the premier league benefits just as much from the big names playing for city. Big names = more viewers = better TV deals.

5.) 05 Jun 2024 06:38:35
What they’re doing (City Football Group) in shuffling around and hoarding players, with the aim of funneling the best ones to City, is ridiculous as well. I’m staggered it’s allowed but it seems like as long as you have deep pockets anything is possible.

6.) 05 Jun 2024 07:22:31
“The tyranny of the majority”, or democracy as it’s better known.

To date they’ve started countless legal proceedings against the league and lost all of them, at some point they have to be treated as vexatious litigants, I’d hope the PL push for this.

7.) 05 Jun 2024 07:35:41
Now there are 2 legal precedents successfully enforced, that has to make the PL case stronger.

City Group signed to a contract which included the rules at that time. They were not coerced. They are highly unlikely to win this case.

The PL use some of the UKs leading legal experts. City group might have more money but they simply do not have better UK legal experts.

City Group are in trouble and they know it. This is a desperate act.

9.) 05 Jun 2024 09:32:08
The fairest thing for all would be to scrap ffp or the alternative completely and introduce limitations to how many players between certain age groups clubs can own/ employ.

10.) 05 Jun 2024 10:12:04
A question for one of the Eds.

Am I wrong in assuming that clubs must surely sign some kind of contract with the FA in order to be granted a license to take part in competitions?

If they do, surely a part of this contract would be to agree to abide by rues set out by the FA? If they didn't;t agree with the rules they should not have signed the agreement rather than ignoring them and then retrospectively trying to change the rules when they got caught. Surely their lawsuit is frivolous and they don't have a leg to stand on?

They really are the Donald Trumo of the football world!

{Ed001's Note - yes City signed a contract and agreed to all of the terms they are being asked to adhere to. They are just simply spoilt brats acting like spoilt brats do.}

11.) 05 Jun 2024 10:50:52
Ed001, interesting that they didn’t take a similar a similar lawsuit against UEFA who have even more stringent rules. To me this is an abuse of the legal system, I feel confident that the judiciary will strike it out and give it the contempt it deserves. I’d hope they’re barred from litigation for a long time to come through being vexatious litigants.

{Ed001's Note - it is ridiculous.}

12.) 05 Jun 2024 11:33:04
I am not a legal expert but it appears to me that what Man City are doing amounts to an admission of guilt. But then claiming that the rules they signed up to and agreed to discriminated against them.

13.) 05 Jun 2024 12:16:33
@Red7. It he “powers that be” are the ones who brought the charges against City. They did have suspicions of what City were doing. It would be rather odd to bring charges against City just to hush them up and, if they are trying to hush them up, they aren’t doing much of a job to date.

{Ed002's Note - The two matters are entirely unrelated.}

14.) 05 Jun 2024 12:27:28
VV, I was going to say the same thing. So according to them, ‘tyranny of the majority’ or democracy and majority rule, is now seen as a bad thing? I guess if you are owned by a country where democracy is non existent then, I get the point. Absolute snowflakes. Yet, they call LFC victims.

Of course, tyrants and the wealthy often think equality is a form of oppression cos heaven forbid someone demands that they share with the have-nots. Let's give them HELL, me thinks.

{Ed002's Note - You are aware that they are not the only club who don't like that rule?}

15.) 05 Jun 2024 15:44:34
But equally though Ed, at least 14 did vote for it, making it qourate. I mean, you know, I didn’t vote for Brexit or the Tory party but I got lumbered with both. It is what it is.

01 Jun 2024 23:23:31
What you make on Summerville then Ed's is he any good or is he just a SMALLTOWN BOY

Or will he be one Leeds would NEVER SAY GOODBYE To?

{Ed025's Note - a bit one one trick pony for me Dhfc, they say he might put in a transfer request...but he wont leave them this way.. :)

1.) 02 Jun 2024 09:51:55
Ed25, Ed01 said the same thing and that he has attitude issues as well. If all of that is true then sorry, we can do a lot better.

{Ed025's Note - not a Liverpool type player for me Oli, flits in and out of games and for the money leeds would want i think there are better options out there mate..

2.) 02 Jun 2024 13:49:35
Summerville play primarily on the left and is right footed. What are we going to do with Diaz, Jota, Gakpo and Nunez if he is brought in?

{Ed002's Note - He would be a Diaz preplacement.}

3.) 02 Jun 2024 13:50:32
Think that post went over too many heads .
Hope we steer clear of little Jimmy if the attitude isn’t right . Not acceptable at the top tier of the game ??.

4.) 02 Jun 2024 10:47:48
Agree Ed25. Plus it feels like he is more of a risk or a project player with a big risk instead of a player that can contribute to a team aspiring to fight for the title. Which player do you think are better options for Liv Ed25?

{Ed025's Note - i like the look of Kudus mfahmee and even Bowen but his age is slightly against him mate..

5.) 02 Jun 2024 12:03:26
Then Ed25, we can move the heck on from this fellow. Peace.

{Ed025's Note - yeah Oli i dont think hes a good fit at all mate..

28 May 2024 16:28:43
Question for Ed 1

With rumours of Diaz and salah potentially leaving and their contracts needing sorting to retain value in the players if they do indeed stay . who out their do you deem good enough to replace them 2 .

I've seen lots of talk on Johan bakayoko who looks like a ideal salah back up / replacement as he's very much in the mould of mo and I've also seen links to Summerville of Leeds who for my eyes looks very much in the mould of Díaz and loves to come in on the right foot from the left .

Is there a chance of either of them / both or can you enlighten us with who else you fancy in the wide forward areas that we maybe don't know much about?

{Ed001's Note - to be honest I am not so sure we need to replace Diaz, we have plenty of options on the left. It is the right side that we have an issue, other than Salah we only really have Diaz and Szoboszlai who can play there. Diaz I am not convinced by on the right anyway, his end product is so poor that putting him out there does nothing to improve us. The likes of Doak are simply nowhere near ready, if he ever will be. If it was the centre, I would want to give Danns the chance to play, but on the right I would worry that Elliott will be shifted out there just when he is showing so much promise in the centre.

So yes, we definitely need to replace Salah in my view. For the long term anyway, even if not the short term. That is a real problem as there is no one that really stands out for me that would be available unless we could get Musiala. Anyone else is a downgrade from where we want to be or putting Szoboszlai and Elliott there. I can't think of a player I saw that stood out, though I haven't been able to watch as much football as usual this last year. It also depends on how Slot wants to play them, it might even be that Elliott and Szoboszlai are the perfect answers if they are playing as number 10s rather than wingers or wide forwards.

Bakayoko does look about the best up and coming player for that position. Sommerville is very much left-sided and a one-trick pony who was poor for most of the season. I have to say there is attitude problems amongst the Leeds squad and he was one of the major issues along with Gnonto from what I can see. So I would avoid him. I would much rather have Gakpo there than either of those, or Darwin there and put Danns up top. For me we need to look for a big player to replace Mo and one to replace van Dijk. We need to recruit the best we can, like we did when buying Virgil and Alisson, as they make a difference and they have huge shoes to fill. Pretty much every other hole can be filled by the current squad and youth academy. We need to leave gaps for the most promising players, like we did to get Quansah and Bradley their chance this season.}

1.) 28 May 2024 16:58:10
Right sided forward
And a centre half . Should be the minimum business we do regardless of outgoings .
I would sell Diaz if the opportunity arises as I don’t think he will sign a new contract and is clearly wanting to join Barca.

2.) 28 May 2024 17:08:09
Szoboszlai/ Gakpo on the left
Elliott/ Jones as the 10
Mo/ Bakayoko on the right
Darwin/ Jota up top?

I think we could well see something like that but there’s potential for it to not work at all. What if Darwin doesn’t find any form or Mo doesn’t get back to his best. Jota and Jones will miss games. Gakpo and Szoboszlai haven’t set the world alight. Slot has a tough job on his hands.

3.) 28 May 2024 17:44:10
Boss insight their ed 1 also . I think the new challenge of the new team and coach will bring the best out of this young group as they all have a chance to impress . This is now the time for szoboslai to lay down a marker I hope ??.

{Ed001's Note - I have high hopes for our Dom.}

4.) 28 May 2024 19:02:07
Mbuenio from brentford is who I wouldgo for of the players I know for that right sided role if we were to buy.

5.) 28 May 2024 23:29:18
rekon Gakpo is set for a big season. I think he's acclimatized to the league, the club and will be comfortable with Slot coming in.

I think our best starting 3 is Diaz, Gakpo and Mo. between them three they can interchange etc as I think Diaz can do a job through the middle and Gakpo is very effective down the left flank too.

6.) 29 May 2024 07:08:06
I don’t like Gakpo on the left…I think he does his best work in the centre forward role. He is similar to Firmino in that he likes to come to the ball but he is also more of a finisher than Bobby.

I think the forward line is a big undertaking. I t is vital Slot decides early who his focal point is up top. I think in some ways with the players we have building around Nunez might be best balance. He likes to run in behind with salah losing a yard, his game is starting to change where he comes inside/ towards the ball more, so he is better suited to playing with someone like Nunez. The left side as the other poster said to contradict myself can be covered by Dom and Gakpo, Dom can also cover right, Jota across the 3 and Danns/ Gakpo the middle, that is my thought anyone.

Otherwise if you are building around Gakpo in the middle I really think you need two fast wide men who like to get in behind the space left by Gakpo.

7.) 29 May 2024 14:55:29
Ed01, what big players are out there right now that we can get cos they seem to be out of reach?

Now I do agree that Gakpo should play left if Diaz leaves cos that is his natural position and he was killing it at PSV in this position when we signed him. Darwin should not be on the left cos he is not a wide man by trade and does most of his overall damage at CF. Just my take.

{Ed001's Note - I don't know, UEFA's PSR has made this summer a difficult market to understand. It could well be a buyer's market as teams are going to struggle to offload players. Which could suddenly put previously unobtainable players into reach as clubs have to get their wages down, as well as raise funds to bring in new blood.}

10 May 2024 06:28:07
Hey their Ed's
What players on our books do you think will be sold on this summer and will some of the players we thought nailed on to go get a second chance ie a carvalho for instance or have decisions been made?

{Ed001's Note - Hughes and his team will be looking over all the info they have and I doubt there will be any decisions made yet. There is a lot to sort through. Contracts will have to be dealt with as well.}

1.) 10 May 2024 08:18:25
Ed001, in this current scenario where Hughes is still at Bournemouth and Slot is still at Feynoord, do you think they will be having any early conversations about plans for the summer? Or would they be focused on just finishing their contracts to their current clubs?

I can't imagine myself in the same situation not becoming a little bit distracted given they're stepping up to one of the biggest clubs in World Football. You wouldn't want to walk in the door on day one and feel as though you had no plan. I'm guessing if they were having any discussions it would have to be on their own time mind you!

{Ed001's Note - I am sure they will have discussions, but it will be difficult.}

2.) 10 May 2024 11:14:56
Late night whatsapp group chats on the burner phones Mickey sent to Arne and Ricky.

3.) 10 May 2024 11:25:49
I’m imagining Highes arguing with Edwards trying to convince him to bring Solanke back to the club

4.) 10 May 2024 11:31:51
I hear they are trying to rent Jurgen’s tap-up caravan under the central pier at Blackpool - Bootroom re-boot, perhaps?

5.) 10 May 2024 13:17:44
Imagine them actually on group chats ? sharing videos from YouTube of Bakayoko and Pacho!

6.) 10 May 2024 22:49:56
In Liverpool they are called graft phones, not burner phones.

31 Mar 2024 18:50:21
@davey sulls are you on the positivity count down yet . I loved last seasons run in for top 4 . your posts where what was needed on here just pure positivity towards the team .

Let's hope jones replicates the form of the last 9 games of last season when he's back.

1.) 31 Mar 2024 19:08:08
Yes Dhfc! But also, and maybe more importantly,

We need Ron to stick back on his lucky trousers!

2.) 31 Mar 2024 19:54:16
I had my red undies on today like.

3.) 31 Mar 2024 20:36:45
That's a little too much info! I hope they're not like other "lucky" clothing that are never washed. ?.

4.) 31 Mar 2024 20:37:49
Nasty accident with a pair of white undies, Dhfc?

5.) 31 Mar 2024 20:55:42
Had them on today, no danger.

Gutsy performance today, not pretty, not our usual glut of good chances.
Those are the types of games you need to grind a result so credit to the team.

Dom woke up in the second half for around 15 minutes and pulled out a bit of skill.

Mac Allister had one of his best games for us. He was everywhere in midfield winning back possession. A superb pass to Salah after great bit of control.

My man of the match - Mac Allister.

6.) 31 Mar 2024 21:26:40
3 points today, that’s all that matters. Let’s now win the remaining league fixtures and bring the title home. Klopp deserves the best send off.

7.) 31 Mar 2024 21:38:57
Not doing that as it didn't quite work out last time.

We might be allowed a loss or a draw here and there. We might need to win them all. It's just one game at a time now.

8.) 31 Mar 2024 21:48:03
Potential banana skin negotiated with the clash in styles.

Macca put in a midfield clinic today. Lucho was excellent too.

9.) 31 Mar 2024 22:52:56
Davey, I take your point for sure. Let the countdown wait for a while and see what happens.

10.) 01 Apr 2024 09:20:03
Fair play chaps i1 game at a time it is . As for the undies they need regular washing as a Liverpool fan as we don’t do nothing the easy way .

@ zeddicus my SHORT comings would make you believe theirs been an accident

I know Gordon isn’t everyone’s cup of tea but the lad gave us a torrid time in the famous Nunez super sub game . He isn’t the finished article far from it tbh but he is getting better and seems to have a great work ethic and puts a shift in . I know people question his personality etc . But we and he seem to be keen on each other ??.

I think with the sheer volume of games and now with the extra games in champions league for the teams in Europe I think it’s a must having 2 players for every position and if Diaz leaves which looks likely I think Gordon would be a great replacement I can see the appeal and similarities between him and Diaz .

I would like to see us still want another forward for the right in addition to whatever happens with Diaz.

Totally agree @mk at the no one being deemed good enough but my opinion on Kimmich is nothing to do with age mate I’m of a similar opinion to @davey sulls that I would like a more athletic and defensive minded player than kimmich as we don’t have that in the squad . It’s my opinion as you say and you have your own neither of us are right or wrong just a difference of opinion . I just think we have lots of technically gifted players in a similar mold to kimmich for example with coaching and a chance Connor Bradley could do as good a job as kimmich . He’s technically brilliant ( kimmich) not saying anything on that I just think we need a player that is big strong and atletic and a bit of a bully of the midfield . .

We will see.

I’m not overly happy about Kimmich myself If true

I just not sure he’s what we need but if he does sign I’d get behind the lad and wish him well but I think their is potentially better options out.

I don’t want Everton to win a throw in never mind a game . But if your English you should be cheering on the team tonight . I don’t mean you should have no top on and painted at St George’s in cross on ya belly but at least want them to win it over Spain . Fair enough if you’re not bothered if they do or don’t but they should have your backing .

Was vvd on vvd levels when we signed him? I’m pretty sure he only reached them levels once he had joined us so to say no one else is worthy of signing them is a little short sighted in my opinion

Who’s to say any of our targets won’t kick on and become even better when they join?

@teddy Hughes’s was asked about how he sees the transfer market after a flurry of activity to conform to psr

He replied saying he expected the market to calm down now and not be as busy with players still playing or on holidays before the new season and he’s expects it to ramp up and be very busy towards the end of the window as it always is .

Re opportunistic I think it was meant in general the late flurry from clubs and that their will be opportunity for Liverpool to add to the squad .

That’s how I took it anyway I don’t think he was saying the club know where they need to target or positions have been identified.

I thought the pair of them came across very well and looked really relaxed which I really like .

You are right and it’s a curious case as Darwin was superb but couldn’t score
As many as he should have where salah General play was often very poor but scored the most . Hopefully new manager slight tweaking of things brings a bit more cohesion to the attack as it looked a bit forced all season.
