ynwacinere, that just shows that we, like every other club, buys both good and poor players. We can't have a 100% success rate in the market but in recent times, we have done well. The only high profile player we bought under Klopp who objectively failed was Keita and it was widely reported at the time that we didn't do any of the usual background checks on him. So your criticism that we have no high standard players holds no water.

On behalf of Viktor, Llorente is 29 years old and is clearly past it. He should be in a retirement home at this point ;)

Viktor, there was no mention about his quality from Ed001. He merely pointed out that Rabiot is a grafter and is known for being hardworking, and not the waster that you described him to be. He may not be good enough but a waster he is not.

Btw, I would suggest not labelling players as such. If a player isn't good enough football-wise then describe them as such. Using words like "waster" and "damaged goods" to describe players goes beyond just describing their footballing qualities.

I think Branthwaite is a good lad and he won't force a move elsewhere, unlike Stones, Barkely, or Gordon. Not sure how true this is but I read somewhere that he woukd only leave Everton if an acceptable offer was made for him. And I don't think Everton needs to sell anymore so I can still see him staying at Everton for the foreseeable future. I'd still like him to be with us though since we'd then have the best two young CBs in England in Quansah and him.

FSGfleecingus, I think you need to learn how to read first instead of just assuming things. Nowhere is it in this thread where it is mentioned that we are a well run club. In fact, I mentioned that we should take a look at ourselves for letting our top players reach the end of their contracts with no solution in the first place.

Just realised this when re-reading the post again but how did you list Gerrard as a "next level" DM? We were extremely open when we played him there and our strategy then was to outscore the opponent. He is a great player but a DM he is not.

Flannagan before his injury was a good RB for us and was displacing Johnson. He did show that he had a crap character though so glad to see the back of him.

As for you Jaguar/ Harry, I seem to recall you gushing over the signing of Keita, claiming that he is the last piece of the puzzle and he would dominate midfield for us. We all have crap opinions that we have voiced here, including you, so not sure what you stand to gain from your "anything can happen on this page" comment since you are hardly the voice of reason that you seem to think you are.

Not sure what Gravenberch has anything to do with Yoro but sure, you just do you.

As for Yoro, I think we have to admit that Utd are getting a decent youngster who does seem to have a high ceiling. If he had signed for us, I would expect most of us to be satisfied with the transfer. How he develops is still up in the air since he can either go on to be a huge success or a huge flop. Ed001 gave quite a good brief review of Yoro on the Utd page which I suggest most of us read.

Utd has made some good strides since Ineos came in and I have to admit that I am a bit wary of them now. They aren't the same as they were when the Glazers were fully in-charge.

What has going from Bournemouth to Liverpool got to do with him being willing to be micromanaged by Edwards?

Not saying that it's the case since I don't think Edwards is as involved in our transfers as people expect. But just curious what your thought process is that the above statement is "simples" for you.

For Jota, I can see it happening actually since he is known to play FIFA late into the night even if he has a game the next day. He is effectively compromising his rest and rehab which does lead to more injuries.
