I heard of a rumour linking us to Porto's 22yr old LB in Rafa Soares. He hasn't even played a senior game for Porto only on loan to Rio Ave last season where he scored 3 goals and 7 assists. Is this some BS?

1.) 15 Jun 2017 11:22:32
The search continues.

2.) 15 Jun 2017 12:48:32
He'd be a great buy if we can get him.

3.) 16 Jun 2017 03:04:35
May be Lijnders know him when he is at porto?

05 Jun 2015 09:29:52
EDs is the report that James Milner joining LFC confirmed?

{Ed002's Note - Subject to a medical and the paperwork being processed he will join at the start of July.}

1.) 05 Jun 2015 10:50:41
It's even on their official website dude.

Are these from last year? If not, it's a bit of a silly time to make them considering a few of their squad numbers will be changing.

08 Jun 2019 14:36:17
Ed01, I wish to seek your opinion on how best you think we can handle the CB issues we had sometimes in January where 3 of our 4 senior CBs were out injured and Fabinho had to step in as makeshift at some point. I believe that spell had a bit of negative impact on our title push. Not being pessimistic but how do you think we can be better prepared for moments like these? Lovren seem not to have put his injuries behind him yet and Matip, until the second half of the season, was in and out of the squad due to injuries. It worries me big and need a bit of perspective to it. Thanks.

{Ed001's Note - the only thing you can do is have back ups that are injured less often. Injuries are going to happen though.}

1.) 08 Jun 2019 15:24:44
ed001 do you think the Gomez injury was unlucky on 2 counts. impact injury like that are unlucky, But the complications he had was even more so and if they had done the op straight away he would have been beck twice as fast. And all Joe's injury's have been bad injury's I can't remember him being out to much with short term injury's. And I think it was on the coach parade where VVD was interviewing him and you can see was he thinks about him. I think it is about time Joe had a season without any bad luck and we should be ok. All so ed001 do you think we should keep him well away from the full back role what I think will help him. I thought at the start of the season at cb he looked world class and would have given VVD run for his money as are best player.

{Ed001's Note - bad luck has defo dogged him at times, plus he is growing still, so that can cause some injuries to happen. I certainly would prefer to keep him in the centre, those extra yards that are needed at full back could be just enough to stress any niggles.}

2.) 08 Jun 2019 16:46:23
Matip has really stepped up. Gomez needs to be given time to get back into the swing of things. At least we know we have ample cover at RB with Milner, Gomez and Fab plus any academy players willing to step up. Even Hendo can play at RB.

We definitely need cover t LB.

Trent first choice at RB. He is a beast!

3.) 08 Jun 2019 19:18:05
Not to mention he's a awful right full doesn't suit him for me at all offers little going forward and falls asleep defensively he isn't comfortable there in comparrassion to him playing centre half, the confidence levels are so different he strives CB and could be world class if he gets 2 full seasons there.

4.) 10 Jun 2019 04:08:01
A full pre season will do him great. I'm sure he will be itching to build up that partnership with virg again as he was playing so well. His pace and power are so well suited to the PL. His injury problems suggest bad luck as opposed to regular occurring muscle injuries so I'm not too worried. His play suits Trent too, when Trent gets caught high up the field, Gomez pace was often useful in covering in behind. Matip lacks that burst of recovery speed. I think Gomez and Trent can build up a strong connection for club and country for many years hopefully.

Quite frankly, it would sound insane to ask this question by this time yesterday but moments like yesterday are indelible and just crazy. But who would you prefer to meet in the final? Would have say Ajax imo but those kids are playing like a truck driving on whiskey. TOT? Perhaps but will like to hear your opinions. Cheers.

1.) 08 May 2019 12:59:06
Ajax will be the tougher opponent, but I still want to fave them in the Final. Proper football club.

2.) 08 May 2019 13:07:04
Ajax. I don't think they will handle the hight press football, ofc if we do play like that on the final. Tottenham are and awlays were party spoliers, so Im, honestly, scared of them in Madrid.

3.) 08 May 2019 13:08:50
Would like Ajax for a proper European final.

Should be a great football match.

Just hope we have Salah Bobby Robbo and anyone else carrying knocks all fit and available to play.

4.) 08 May 2019 13:17:32
Ajax remind me of us last year, underdogs, high pressure football. Spurs are spurs, I’d back us more versus them.

5.) 08 May 2019 13:39:47
The difference between this final and last year's final is. Last year WE were the underdogs, this year spurs or Ajax are, we'll bloody ruin them. I'm not concerned one bit because I know it's already ours. Bring them on, let go.

6.) 08 May 2019 13:43:30
Anyone no if Kane will be fit if they make the final?

{Ed002's Note - No.}

7.) 08 May 2019 13:44:27
We should feel confident regardless of who we face. But a part of me wants Ajax because having beaten PSG, Bayern, Porto and Barcelona en route, it will be nice to beat the Dutch champions also.

I hope Klopp makes the lads watch relay of Kiev on repeat between Sunday and 1st June so they enter with a win at all cost mentality. And with that mentality we can beat anyone as we saw last night.

8.) 08 May 2019 13:55:57
We apply that press both teams won’t be able to handle us so not bothered who we get. If Kane is definitely out for the final I lean towards Spurs but if he is fit I would say Ajax.

9.) 08 May 2019 14:24:59
I personally think Spurs are better off without Kane, Son is the real danger man.

10.) 08 May 2019 14:40:33
I would prefer Ajax, personally. Why? Spurs are a mirror image of us in terms of the way we play and the way we press. Sure, we are a better team than them, overall HOWEVER with that game at Anfield and the way it ended with both teams finishing the game on their knees and with the pressure they put us under, I would not want to deal with them again in such a BIG final. Just my preference.

Having said that, we fear NOBODY and have NEVER fear anyone in Europe under Klopp. The ONLY big team that has escaped defeat from us was Madrid in the last final and we all know all the things that had to happen for them to overcome us. If we get Spurs then we prepare for them like we would for Ajax and I will back us over them ALL DAY. Let the games begin!

11.) 08 May 2019 15:17:05
I really don’t care who it is. We beat Bayern away from home and Barcelona at home after being 3-0 down. We have lost only 1 game in the league all season. Confidence is sky high and growing. Let’s do this!

12.) 08 May 2019 15:19:24
Sorry Ed, no he won’t or no you don’t no or know lol? I hate no and knows 😂.

{Ed002's Note - I answered the question. No, nobody knows if he will be fit or not.}

13.) 08 May 2019 16:23:13
Ajax can live with our pace of play. Spurs are beginning to tire. At the end of the day the best team tonight will go through. It’ll be a tough final either way 👍.

14.) 08 May 2019 17:50:41
Salah, I love your posts mate but sometimes when you come out with statements like “we’ll ruin them”, just comes off really arrogant. You don’t seem like that type of bloke to be fair, but I saw I post earlier today when you called out the negative posters, I’m not one of them but I do find statements like that hard to take, whichever club makes the final deserves respect for doing so. There’s supporting our team and then there’s going just a bit too far in my humble opinion. Please keep up the positivity but maybe be a bit more respectful to our opposition.

15.) 08 May 2019 18:58:27
Lfc hopeful, football is tribal, visceral, emotional. Supporters can surely talk about ‘battering’, ‘hammering’, ‘thumping’, ‘murdering’ and even ‘ruining’ the opposition. It’s what we do, it doesn’t demonstrate a lack of respect. Let’s keep the political correctness out of a football supporters’ website.

16.) 08 May 2019 19:53:50
Lfc-hopeful, chill out, man. It's just football and nothing more. This PC stuff needs to be put to the side where football is concerned esp. with what we witnessed last night. I may not do or say such things BUT it is not my job (nor should it be anyone else's) to be telling people what to post PROVIDED they don't insult anyone, something Salah did not do here, IMO.

17.) 08 May 2019 20:37:35
It’s not pc, I’m not saying don’t say we’ll win / beat them, but “ruin them”, nah I’m not having it. They’ll be a team that have been good enough to reach a champs league final, have a little class that’s all I’m saying.

{Ed002's Note - There is zero “class” I am afraid - only arrogance.}

18.) 08 May 2019 21:01:34
I’m glad some gets my point.

I was really up for it yesterday even till the final whistle and I thought we weren't that bad but they deserved it as they worked for it. Though I felt disappointed we didn't take a point. The two situations in front of goal with first Mane and second Stones could have been different on another day but its what it is and we move on. No time to dwell on this slip up as it was always going to happen and thankfully, it didn't happen against a relegation threatened side but against the reigning champions. How we respond now is very imp. City is been through theirs and have come out strong against us and we need to roar back in same fashion. Amazingly, we are still in a strong position with that being about the hardest away fixture of the season and probably Manc. No need to allow our trust in these players fly through the window cos of a slip up or even replace them as many have suggested. Make no mistake, its our year as I suspect we are about to put a streak together and thanklfully we have a manager who have been in this situation and made it across the line against Bayern twice. The vibe is soothing seeing we have the cards still our hands. Hey let's face, we never do things the easy way you know! We however all need to show full support now cos as no one gave us a chance at the start because of City but see where we are now, really hard work from these same boys to get here. The next game is the most important so I say, play a team that can put Wolves to the sword plus for me, the game couldn't come at a better time. Hopefully, we left this slip up back at the Etihad last night but we ll know that against Wolves. A pro performance will do for me to stay in contention while conserving energy to let lose on Saturday. I'm truly eager to face Brighton now as I see a run of games stringing together from there. I strongly believe its our year! Never been this positive about our season and hope we can all come together and show this boys we have faith in them 100%. Forgive my English as I'm no English man. On we go!

Would never understand the panic about Origi myself. Before his injury at Everton, we all saw what he could do when confident as he effectively put Studge on the bench. We all know he's yet to reach that height of confidence but in there clearly lies a decent player.

They say his hold up play is bad, his passing is bad and so on but what do you expect from a player who's often used as a super sub? Many keep talking about City's back up striker in Gab Jesus but is he even that much of an upgrade over Origi? That lad is one of the many reasons we call no. 6 with joy today. He and Matip deserves not just a new deal but a raise!

The way I see it, whether it's Liverpool or not, these players would have probably moved elsewhere cos I don't think we were the only interested club at the time. I don't get the "bullying" thing. To blame their struggles to stay afloat in the league on Liverpool is a little misplaced for me. But, what do I know?

I've truly got no worries about the match as something tells me all 3pts stays at Anfield. I will put my money on 2 - 1 and goals from Salah and Lovren should do 💯😂
Seriously, We will win!

Karius the worst goalie you've ever seen? That's up there with the worst post I have ever read TBH. What happened to the second name on the list of the OP?

I think the championship is almost as good as won. Would have loved a Man City vs Liverpool, down to the wire tussle from last season on the standing though as it's looking like a joy ride already. I also think Bottas lacks fire and grit to be a Mercedes driver at all. Fantastic racing from Lewis Hamilton though. Cheers Ed!
