News that we're in no mood to listen to offers for Nunez, and he's an important member of our squad. We must all come to terms with this and move on.
1.) 23 Jan 2025 16:29:41
Nothing to come to terms with and he is an important squad member. Delivered when came on the other day for important three points and if we get he’s good to rotate so we don’t get injuries or good back up if we do get them.
2.) 23 Jan 2025 16:39:39
Great news that.
3.) 23 Jan 2025 17:18:02
Everybody has a price @Rome - it’s a business. If we aren’t bringing a CF in over this window it makes sense to keep him (at least until summer) as our other CF will be out for weeks again with a chipped finger nail or whatever it is.
4.) 23 Jan 2025 17:18:24
Hopefully this is true.
5.) 23 Jan 2025 17:43:13
A few people will know I said it tongue in cheek. I'm not a big fan of his, but if he keeps doing what he did last Saturday I'll continue to sing his name.
6.) 23 Jan 2025 18:27:23
Jota needs to go before Darwin . He misses too many games .
7.) 23 Jan 2025 18:35:31
Great news ?.
8.) 23 Jan 2025 19:12:29
Is it just click bait that Newcastle are looking at Gyokeres in case Isak is sold to “Liverpool” then? Or would it be a case Jota is sold with Isak coming in and Nunez a squad player?
9.) 23 Jan 2025 20:23:04
I just hope Nunez starts next few games he needs a run of games.
10.) 23 Jan 2025 20:42:58
Both need to go in the summer in fairness Dhfc.
11.) 23 Jan 2025 23:47:17
Nice. Depth, Stability and chemistry will be our biggest asset for the remainder of the title race.
12.) 23 Jan 2025 23:49:09
We'll sell him in the summer. He may come in useful before then.
13.) 24 Jan 2025 00:04:13
Will Nunez become our new Origi?
14.) 24 Jan 2025 00:15:09
Check his off the ball stats this season, they are off the scale good.
15.) 24 Jan 2025 00:25:11
Not that I'm wishing for anybody to be sold, but at this rate our only hope is the FA increase squad size to 30 players from 25. This way we can have the incomings everyone wants, and not have to sell anybody.
16.) 24 Jan 2025 01:26:30
Nor should we be selling anyone in Jan without replacements lined up. Pretty common sense approach given all the comps we are still in.
17.) 24 Jan 2025 02:32:24
100% FM
Nunez is too erratic and despite flashes of brilliance he is not an all round premier league player.
Jota is excellent and lethal on his day but his injuries are so regular, he has to go.
Isak is an amazing striker, but be careful what you wish for, he too has a tendency for niggling injuries over recent seasons.
Personally like the idea of Osmihen and Pedro to replace those two but I would dearly like to see a DM, LB first and a CB too.
18.) 24 Jan 2025 06:16:25
No need for that smutty talk vango!
19.) 24 Jan 2025 10:42:52
An £85m Origi?.
20.) 24 Jan 2025 14:11:09
LFC will not turn down 70m for a squad player. Love Darwin, but someone offers that, he's gone.
21.) 25 Jan 2025 01:30:49
@Vango, the idea that we gave the best player in the world when he doesn’t actually touch the ball made me ‘laugh a lot’.
Just imagine if we signed the next best 9 outfielders who didn’t touch the ball, we’d be brilliant.
22.) 25 Jan 2025 05:04:39
He’s more of an Erik Meijer than Big Divock Origi.
An £85m mad Erik.
We should always listen to offers, every player has a price.
23.) 25 Jan 2025 08:41:46
#have not #gave, damn auto text .
24.) 25 Jan 2025 17:19:53
No, Ed001, the original story is Fichjales's story from early December. based on that Alexis was asked by AS in an interview whether he would move to Spain. and he answered "one day. Why not? but right now I'm very comfortable at Liverpool and I don't think about what might happen in the future. "
{Ed001's Note - so the fact he wanted a similar release clause to the one in his Brighton contract is now irrelevant? Why do you think Ed2 mentioned he wanted to go to Madrid? You clearly think you know better though, even though you had been told on here long before December.}
25.) 25 Jan 2025 17:49:15
The notion that he has a release clause of £60m was reported by DSport in Argentina but then refuted fairly quickly by International Sports Writer Peter Staunton. The original comment on the so-called release clause came before the summer window last year and was reported as false in numerous publications including Goal, The Athletic and 90 Minutes. I guess the summer window will show us.
{Ed001's Note - nobody said he has one. You are too busy trying to be right to even bother understanding what I said. He wanted a release clause is not the same as he got a release clause is it?}
21 Jan 2025 16:35:50
Various outlets saying we're looking to sign Hadj-moussa from Feyenoord. Right sided forward. I hadn't heard of him till 10 mins ago, but I'm no expert on Dutch football. Most of us hadn't heard of Slot 12 months ago.
1.) 21 Jan 2025 18:11:45
Well that means Salah is gone.
2.) 21 Jan 2025 18:22:11
I'm sure Richard Hughes is monitoring the situation like there's no tomorrow.
3.) 21 Jan 2025 18:33:23
Yeah 6 goals and 2 assists in 22 games sounds like a Salah replacement for sure.
4.) 21 Jan 2025 19:02:37
Isnt he like 22, could maybe be an understudy to Salah if there's even an ounce of truth to it.
5.) 21 Jan 2025 19:02:52
Underwhelming if true (and that’s the caveat) . Don’t @ me with “but Salah” or “but Mane”, both of them were playing at a high level when we signed them. This feels more like Luis Alberto or Ossama Assaidi.
6.) 21 Jan 2025 19:34:16
Could get mixed up with nunez if he signs he spit of nunez.
7.) 21 Jan 2025 20:07:15
@KurtStiener69, when salah join us, he is 15 goals in 40 games. We always uncover the gems.
8.) 21 Jan 2025 22:30:37
He shares a birthday with me - he’s going to be stellar!
9.) 21 Jan 2025 23:09:29
The season before Salah joined us he scored 19 in 41.
That virtually a 1 in 2 scoring rate……. from a wide attacker.
10.) 21 Jan 2025 23:50:08
@Vic - irrespective of us signing him or not, have you ever seen the lad play? First time he’s been mentioned on here and the knives are straight out rounded out nicely by you pigeon holing him with a couple of players that you don’t rate (I know it was a shock to me) .
Nice to take time off from being happy that we won another CL match and are through to 5he last 16 to be dismissive of yo7ng players at other clubs. Love your work.
11.) 22 Jan 2025 07:36:42
WDW if FSG attacked Palestine you’d still find a way to defend them.
12.) 22 Jan 2025 08:24:37
I don't see one mention of FSG in WDW's post.
It just goes to show how bent out of shape some people are, they'll make things up just to slag some aspect of the club off.
Supposedly grown men too.
Comical.
13.) 22 Jan 2025 10:42:41
He looks handy. Skilful dribbler but has some work to do on his end product. Reminds me a bit of Doak. Definitely not a Mo replacement but a potentially good investment to develop or failing that, sell on at a decent profit in 2/ 3 years.
There is the possibility that he would replace Doak if he is moved on for profit in the summer but personally I'd rather just keep Doak.
14.) 22 Jan 2025 10:49:09
More than comical. Moronic. What has Palestine got to do with football or FSG, for that matter? Humour? Distasteful feeble attempt at best.
15.) 22 Jan 2025 10:55:16
Time to give the old noggin a bit of a wobble @Frode.
16.) 22 Jan 2025 16:11:08
I am all for unearthing gems and all that, But Salah was playing in a really Strong league, no disrespect but the Dutch league is league 1 level if that. You have 3 good teams and the rest are basically feeder clubs to those 3. Of course you can find Luis Suarez players there once in a while but again his numbers were ridiculous for Ajax so there's a huge difference.
17.) 23 Jan 2025 10:42:58
Hadji- "MOUSSE"!
makes sense the stingy transfer budget will only just about get us a decent "MOUSSE"! chocolate or vanilla anybody!
16 Aug 2023 20:32:14
Ed02, any truth in the Wataru Endo rumours? A name I've not heard mentioned up till now. Many thanks.
{Ed002's Note - I know nothing about it to be honest.}
1.) 16 Aug 2023 20:59:02
Hendo to endo what a mess.
2.) 16 Aug 2023 21:09:16
Oh well he’s on his way to Merseyside.
3.) 16 Aug 2023 21:53:18
Well I suppose the H was worth a few million bucks!
4.) 17 Aug 2023 08:15:29
Bet no one has seen him play? And writes him off before he’s even played
Can’t win at all.
17 Jul 2023 13:04:36
Cheick Doucoure the latest midfielder we're linked with. The list goes on.
{Ed002's Note - That would be a surprise.
Cheick Doucoure (CB) Has major language issues that need resolving in the coming months. Crystal Palace have told Monaco, who want him to replace Fofana, that he is not for sale.}
1.) 17 Jul 2023 14:02:26
there's a few people on here with 'language issues' as well. Isn't that right Ed. Glad to see its all calming down again and we can all just get along.
2.) 18 Jul 2023 21:00:46
Cheick Doucourés English language problems are well behind him. Roy Hosgeson said as much in an interview (Google it) and I’ve seen him conduct a perfectly coherent interview in English following a game towards the back end of last season.
03 Jul 2023 12:51:50
Reading that we may still be interested in Kone, not sure whether it's garbage or not.
Either way, as it stands, I'm as excited at what we've got in so far as I've been any summer since 1987. Maybe I'm forgetting other pre seasons and my memory's going.
1.) 03 Jul 2023 16:48:15
Beardsley, Barnes, Aldridge?
2.) 03 Jul 2023 18:00:48
Spot on SS, soon followed by Houghton. Our greatest ever side, in my opinion. Hope this one can emulate it.
3.) 03 Jul 2023 18:40:40
What about when Brendan Rodgers said all Liverpool fans will be VERY excited about the next signing
And it was Borini ?.
4.) 03 Jul 2023 19:03:42
Barnes is the main reason I’m a Liverpool supporter. In fact I’d go as far to say he’s one of the main reasons I like football, him and another wee guy called Diego. He was pretty good too.
5.) 03 Jul 2023 20:32:46
We also signed Mike Marsh that summer and sold John Wark and Paul Walsh. I remember the press saying Dalglish will be caught out for his lack of experience by trusting aldo, Barnes and Beardsley over Wark and Walsh. well, I guess it proves why journalists are about as good at footballing decisions as Boris Johnson is at saying no to a party invite.
6.) 03 Jul 2023 22:10:07
Diego? The Sabre Tooth in Ice Age?

Just out of interest, who were posters having a pop at during the 18/ 19, 19/ 20 seasons? Genuine question. 1. I can't remember and 2. I was banned by Ed02 for a while so stopped coming on here.
1.) 24 Apr 2025 17:27:18
Probably wijnaldum and Hendo for only passing sideways and not scoring enough?
2.) 24 Apr 2025 17:27:46
My recollection is the following got it in the neck the most:
Wijnaldum. Deemed to play within himself most weeks. Tbf, I was subscriber to this one.
Gomez. Not considered good enough.
Firmino. Didn't score enough goals for some.
And Henderson. But that stopped nearly entirely after the second Barcelona game.
3.) 24 Apr 2025 17:33:01
Adrian, Matip, Lovren, Lallana, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Minamino and Sturridge took pelters on here around that time for being injury prone and/ or not good enough.
I don't think anybody minds other posters wanting to talk about who needs to be replaced and who we should sign to do it. This site is built on those discussions after all. Certainly for me it's more tiresome to read because of the way some people are saying it. So many just seen to be criticising the way the club is run or criticising the players who want to leave. It's feels like unwarranted negativity on the cusp of knocking Man United off our perch. We all have our own ideas where we can strengthen but the negativity is just confusing for the fans like myself who are high as a kite right now!
4.) 24 Apr 2025 17:35:48
Jordan Henderson was one for sure. People on here loved bashing him. I'm sure I did a time or two.
5.) 24 Apr 2025 17:46:06
Milner, it was bang out of order.
6.) 24 Apr 2025 17:50:15
Thanks gents for reminding me. It does come back to me now.
My kite's as high as yours at the moment, MK. Hopefully, come 18:30 on Sunday, I will be in a state of delirium.
7.) 24 Apr 2025 18:02:52
I’m not sure but Richard Hughes has taken over Pep Ljinders for me. I blame everything on him like I used to with Pep. It gets me through the week unscathed knowing I can blame him for anything.
8.) 24 Apr 2025 18:06:55
Was Gini in the team? Then him.
9.) 24 Apr 2025 21:01:48
I was on salah's case for not passing and keeping on shooting at the keepers body rather than the corners of goal.
I still believe Salah cost us titles for this nonsense playing style.
24 Apr 2025 09:15:57
Enough of the celebrating, as Richard Hughes been sacked yet?
23 Apr 2025 21:59:14
Back on our perch.
1.) 23 Apr 2025 22:55:11
It’s a great feeling, but it’d be just brilliant if we make it 21 next season and we could invite Gary and Roy round to Alex’s house and we could all have a great big party. The red nosed git made it personal so it’d be nice to have a great big celebration we could share with him.
2.) 24 Apr 2025 07:39:28
Will see you there, WDW!
15 Apr 2025 07:39:39

RIP
YNWA.
1.) 15 Apr 2025 09:48:02
RIP YNWA JFT97.
13 Apr 2025 21:25:59
Arne Slot's first 50 games in charge, 36 wins. Kenny and Joe Fagan, 29 wins. Not a bad start.
1.) 13 Apr 2025 22:18:46
Nice clear succinct post Rome1977!,
We can all argue about the present standard of football being played! but you can't argue with Arne Slots most obvious winning figures especially in his first year of being manager/ coach, he has a very good football acumen of knowing how to win premier league games, nothing wrong with that!
Got absolutely castigated when at the start of this season I quoted we may all be saying at the end of this current premier league season Jurgen WHO?
The leadership changeover has been faultless, no one can argue with that.
YNWA 97.
2.) 13 Apr 2025 22:25:15
Don't care how good or bad we play as long as we win matches and titles.
3.) 13 Apr 2025 23:00:11
Let’s not forget tho 007 that Slot has done it entirely with Jurgen’s squad so let’s not forget about him too quickly eh? Credit where it’s due. Winning a title is never a gimme but Klopp’s legacy is legendary.
4.) 14 Apr 2025 03:34:10
Slot has won it in his first season with a Klopp team.
Klopp won it once in 9 years with a Klopp team and should have won more.
5.) 14 Apr 2025 07:50:45
Joe won a treble and Kenny a double out of only a possible three and Everton was very good then maybe even better than us so I would take there season.
6.) 14 Apr 2025 08:16:21
To be fair JK finished second twice with 97 and 92 points gained, so any other legal era would have seen a couple more you would think.
7.) 14 Apr 2025 09:22:33
Rome couldn't agree more mate what a great start to his Liverpool career
I love Klopp as he gave absolute everything heart and soul for our club and when you watch Arne he gives the exact same heart and soul just in a different way
We are in fantastic shape and I believe it's only getting better
How lucky we are.
10 Apr 2025 10:29:36
It's my opinion that next season will be the last season that Mo and VVD will be regular starters, that could therefore mean that next season is their last. The issue with looking to find replacements this summer to enable them to "bed in" is that next summer is a World Cup. I find it hard to think that players will sign, knowing that they will only play a handful of games, waiting for Virg and Mo to step aside. I've said on here, many times, that it was my belief that those 2 would sign new deals. I've also always thought that next summer will be massive, when we will actually have to replace them. I may be completely wrong with this view, as I often am.
10 Apr 2025 07:52:33
D-day, as a supporter I honestly couldn't care less how long things have taken. I don't think Ward deserves kudos for hopefully getting things sorted, he is, after all, just doing his job. But neither have I been slagging him off. The same goes for Hughes. I will judge him after the summer window closes. It's yours and every other supporter's right to be annoyed, I'm not. I'm too busy looking forward to the next 8 weeks when we hopefully get back on our perch again.
09 Apr 2025 22:18:00
D-day, the bone headed performance of the person responsible for contracts appears to have tied down VVD and Mo. I don't blame Trent for going to RM, neither do I blame Julian Ward for not tieing down Trent to a new contract. He'd obviously made his mind up to join RM. In my humble opinion.
09 Apr 2025 22:06:05
Brummyred, how do you suggest the fans would've revolted? I guarantee that no matter what happens, there will be 60,000 supporters at our first home game next season. And I'm as certain as certain can be we will strengthen in the summer. No one can predict how next season goes, but if it goes as well as this season I'll be happy.
09 Apr 2025 19:33:53
Good old Julian Ward.
24 Apr 2025 19:17:26
Fair play, Ron. It's a sound barometer for Liverpool legends.
24 Apr 2025 17:50:15
Thanks gents for reminding me. It does come back to me now.
My kite's as high as yours at the moment, MK. Hopefully, come 18:30 on Sunday, I will be in a state of delirium.
24 Apr 2025 14:58:41
Easy to forget, Kobey! I certainly hope you weren't thinking he could be with us next season! I've drained of all colour!
24 Apr 2025 14:42:53
Good post, Gunn. I've repeatedly said that whatever my opinion, or anyone else on here, is, it has little influence on what the club does. If 60,000 fans in the ground start chanting "we want Hughes out" THAT, might have an influence.
24 Apr 2025 14:35:49
Nunez.
