New allegations of Coote booking a player, which allegedly was for a bet he and his friend made / discussed

It's really no surprise. whilst players have been banned for such offenses, may he be shown the same fate.

JLC

1.) 27 Nov 2024 08:25:29
It certainly sheds some light on the odegaard basketball decision that had everyone baffled as well.

2.) 27 Nov 2024 09:28:17
Next up, VAR refs who have been taking oil money bungs.

3.) 27 Nov 2024 13:21:47
Wasn't it another investigation by the S*n? we know what they are like with facts and if it was them I'll reserve judgement for now.

If he has done it then his career is done, probably is already. But on this one, I am not jumping on until facts are clearer.

Admittedly it doesn't look great, but for all we know it could be a joke between friends. Although, if it was, I'd question if they were a friend when they have sold you down the river for some cash.

4.) 27 Nov 2024 13:31:46
He is under investigation for some text messages he sent before a game in 2019 aswell i read.

5.) 27 Nov 2024 16:24:39
It sure feels like Coote has tons of baggage, crossed someone who can show evidence of that baggage, and is really putting it to him now. Wonder if it's an angry bookie or something of the sort. Latest allegations are extremely serious, and he may not only lose his job but could end up in prison.

6.) 27 Nov 2024 20:49:49
He’ll get away with it imo. Still awaiting for his snivelling apology and reeducation and he’ll be back.

7.) 27 Nov 2024 22:05:01
He won't get away with that if it's true.

It's weird the way stuff keeps coming out about him.

Has a good friend turned on him or what.

8.) 27 Nov 2024 22:48:36
Mans a wrongun.

9.) 28 Nov 2024 02:21:02
He can’t get away with it. He can never ref in England again he will always be questioned for every decision he makes.

The essential part of his job is impartiality and he’s shown he’s not impartial. Even if he hasn’t let his feelings sway his decisions it will always be perceived that way.

He simply has to go.

10.) 28 Nov 2024 04:22:09
I find it strange it's gone so quiet. What's taking so long? this so called investigation now has been going on how long? a few weeks or so? are they hoping people forget as time goes on or what? it makes no sense that no action has been taken.

If he had anything about him he'd hold his hands up and admit what he's done is plain and utter wrong but instead he's cowering like a tart.

11.) 28 Nov 2024 07:07:34
Sounds like there is a fair bit to investigate @Salah. I don’t mind them raking their time if there is a lot of evidence to get through.

12.) 28 Nov 2024 11:13:44
When you look at everything that goes on, with referees being paid a kings ransom by owners of certain clubs to “referee” in the league of the country that they’re deputy prime minister of, or off partying with brasses in the far east (where big money criminal betting syndicates operate) on a paid jolly, you have to question whether PGMOL is fit for purpose as they can’t exactly say their referees are free from a perception of corruption at this moment in time because of the nature of the allegations, and like it or not, mud sticks.

The whole thing needs tearing apart and the referees with question marks on them need to be withdrawn from premier league action permanently. So that’s Oliver, Coote, Atkinson, Marriner, Friend, any of the other refs who took money in the UAE, as they’re tainted by their actions. Referee’s need to be held to a high standard if behaviour on and off the pitch, it’s the nature of the job.

13.) 28 Nov 2024 11:27:48
I agree WDW they should take their time to decide how far the action needs to go.

However, they should’ve made him step down from his position as soon as he admitted that the first video of him criticising Liverpool and Klopp was real.

Whatever else they find on him (and it looks like it could be a lot) doesn’t change the fact that he simply can’t referee in England ever again after criticising a team, manager and set of supporters.

His credibility has gone.

14.) 29 Nov 2024 06:22:31
Nothing like a good witch hunt. Tongue in cheek.

15.) 30 Nov 2024 12:33:25
I worry that perhaps some Serious Organised Crime Group has dumped its portfolio of leverage material to the media, not only as punishment for him no longer complying with their directives but as a warning to other refs they hold leverage over. It’s a dark world that we live in especially where big money can be made / laundered.

@Ed002

I think we need a Joyce Appreciation Page please.

Clearly he is the all-knowing power that gives LFC the right to exist ?.

If I did Facebook I’d sign up to the Ed002 one.

Where do we donate the Gin?

3.) 14 Aug 2024 16:15:04
Don't do Facebook Ed002 ( which I assume is the link that you shared as per VV response)

But if I was on FB, I'd definitely give you a follow Ed. then continuously make reference to whatbthe great Joyce says ?.

Quick conspiracy theory question.

Newcastle injury problems have been well documented lately. and given that they have played so many games over a short period of time, is anyone really surprised that Fulham had a player sent off so early in their game today?

This is a Fulham side that is scoring for fun in their last 2 games.

I hate that these conspiracy theories are even being mentioned, but where there's smoke there is fire.

JLC

1.) 16 Dec 2023 23:11:10
Probably got sent off for nearly taking the Newcastle players head off to be fair!

2.) 17 Dec 2023 01:03:13
There is no conspiracy theory unless of course someone has paid Jimenez to jump head height and smash into the oppo player with his hip.

3.) 17 Dec 2023 09:05:37
If you hate that conspiracy theories are being mentioned why bring up one of the least likely and most ludicrous of all?

4.) 17 Dec 2023 13:14:02
Yeah, it’s something you apparently believe but just want to add a layer of protection by claiming it’s a CT. If it is back it with all your will and hecklers be dammed! Ask ed 33

(15 year-or-so daily user of this and talk sense forgot my dammed log in info)

5.) 17 Dec 2023 19:07:22
Yeah hip bone on skull bone could be nasty and Jimenez should know better than anyone. If someone did that to you in the street I'm pretty sure it would be considered an assault.

Wrt the new CL format, I have a question around the money that teams earn during the tournament.

I don't know the actual values, but each team earns a certain amount for a win, draw or a loss

Given that teams who finish between 9th and 24th go into an additional knockout round, do these teams then stand a chance of making more money, due to the extra 2 games, than the teams who finished 1st to 8th?

JLC

1.) 23 Jan 2025 14:58:32
Great question. Absolutely no idea!

2.) 23 Jan 2025 15:19:14
A wise man once advised me not to talk about finances in football. I think I'll continue listening to him cos I have no idea on the CL/ money topic.

3.) 23 Jan 2025 15:20:43
A win is worth 2.1 million €
700k € for a draw and nothing for a loss. We're also guaranteed 11 million € for reaching the round of 16.

4.) 23 Jan 2025 16:50:20
7 wins up to now almost 15 million. Take the 90 for Numez from the Arabs and go to Villa for Duran. There will be something left to put on the side for a new no 6 i believe.

5.) 23 Jan 2025 17:20:29
Don’t forget the £ 247.98 we made on selling the pies at last weeks game @Tasos.

6.) 23 Jan 2025 17:27:52
These should be put on a new lb WDW.

7.) 23 Jan 2025 19:28:32
I think it’s fair to say no one seems to know JLC.

8.) 23 Jan 2025 20:51:32
You get paid for making the playoff (as opposed to not) and you get paid for making the last 16.

But you'd still make far far far less going through playoff than if you finished in top 8.

9.) 23 Jan 2025 22:50:43
As an aside, I find it a bit surprising that some people are ambivalent about the need to do as well as we can when it became obvious that we were likely to end up in the top 8. The 7 wins has given us € 14.7m plus a further € 11m for qualifying. Strange world we live in if we can shrug off pushing ourselves for € 25.7m (or € 28.8m) if we win the final qualifier. I know we shouldn’t talk about finance but taking our foot off the pedal with that much amount of money at stake (and particularly with the loss of the CL revenue lately) doesn’t make sense to me.

10.) 24 Jan 2025 00:15:55
I know that there are "shares" worth x with the team finishing 36th getting 1 share and the team finishing 1st getting 36 shares.

11.) 24 Jan 2025 20:04:42
I'm sure I read that the top 8 get an additional 2m EUR when skipping the play off round.

19 Jan 2025 15:44:05
Oh-No-No. Best keeper in the league!

I'm guessing that's Shappy's next article ?.

JLC

1.) 19 Jan 2025 15:57:12
Ah but they beat us 2-2 at Anfield.

That was the entirety of Amorim's new manager bounce.

2.) 19 Jan 2025 16:20:28
If only footballers could run out to music like they do in boxing, he’d have to run into the circus march. Hope they give him a long term contract.

3.) 19 Jan 2025 18:50:47
@Something Red, this is Utd's reason for being moving forward. Big club in name only, at this point.

18 Jan 2025 17:58:12
Liverpool FC ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Nunez ???????????.

JLC

18 Jan 2025 13:37:07
Did anyone see the little scrap at the end of the 1st half between NUFC and Bournemouth?

Joelinton takes out Kluivert from behind, and then there's an exaggerated "You push me - I push you" cry baby scrap. only for the ref to eventually award a free kick to NEWCASTLE

What was that about?
Withbtbe linesman, 4th official and VAR, surely someone must have realized that it was a foul against NUFC

What is going on with these officials?

JLC

1.) 18 Jan 2025 17:01:42
Surprised joelinton got carded, he’s a horrible dirty player who gets away with a lot.

2.) 18 Jan 2025 17:02:45
I think VAR saw that there was a foul on Gordon 1st before Joeliton fouled Kluivert. Still a stupid decision, not clear and obvious for it to be pulled back.

{Ed001's Note - VAR can't have done as it was not a red card given.}

3.) 18 Jan 2025 17:07:49
There was a foul on Gordan before that so free kick to Newcastle. But I agree the ref had very little control on the game.

{Ed001's Note - it wasn't a foul and the ref never gave it initially despite Bournemouth having the ball, so he couldn't have been playing advantage.}

4.) 18 Jan 2025 18:01:55
Why was the ref making Lfc take free kick from where they happened but brentford can take them from where they like?

11 Jan 2025 05:29:44
Nobody moaning that we have the early game today.?

JLC

1.) 11 Jan 2025 06:52:49
What's your point here, JLC?
That Liverpool have a home cup tie against lower league opposition is completely irrelevant to consistently playing 12:30 kick offs, often away and often after European/ international fixtures, at a much higher frequency than any other team.
I think Klopp whined about it a bit too much - to the point the team would have an easy excuse to play poorly - but there is no doubt the schedule has been utterly unfavourable to Liverpool in the past.

2.) 11 Jan 2025 07:52:22
Well we don’t have “the” early kick off do we.

There are three FA Cup games that kick off fifteen minutes earlier.

So given the FA hate us it could be worse eh. :)

3.) 11 Jan 2025 08:22:33
It will be 1745 here in Goa so a perfectly reasonable time to the 0130 morning kick offs I’ve had to put up with whilst on holiday! ?.

4.) 11 Jan 2025 08:23:11
OP, I agree, we expect to win so it’s not as much of a problem this week.

5.) 11 Jan 2025 09:15:56
It’s always talked about recovery time for players but a player doesn’t recover more significantly for a 3
O clock kick off than they would do for a kick off that’s 2 and a half earlier that same day.

The main issue for these kick offs is the match day fans home and away. If you live away from Liverpool which about 99% of our whole fan base does then getting to a 12.30 kick off isn’t easy. The same as getting home from a 8 o clock kick off on a Sat night when we played Villa etc.

6.) 11 Jan 2025 10:17:58
115am Sunday morning (or saturday night lol) here in New Zealand.

got some work to do online, so will burning the midnight oil and stay up for the game!

Agree with Ron.

We are sitting in a position where we can be champions of England, and even have a great run in the CL.

If we're serious about this, then go get Cunha, or at least Isak.

These are PL proven players who will take us to the next level

But we find ourselves dilly dallying around people like Osimhen. who surely those in charge are aware of his wage demands, so WHY WASTE OUR TIME WITH HIM?

Ideally, imo, either a CB or DM alongside Grav, and then Cunha/ Isak in this window and I think that will get us over the line wrt winning the league.

Also McGoveb, we could be in a situation where we dint sign players for positions that we are lacking in currently. and the 3 contracts are NOT renewed.

Dint want to be pessimistic, but that's the reality.

Questions around our recruitment and contract negotiations are rightly placed at those in charge, whoever that might be wrt Hughes, Ward and Edward's.

Let's just hope for some major changes after the next round.

Off the BBC website.
I have no idea what this means though.

Take Liverpool for example. The Reds are now guaranteed a top-two finish, which gives them a seeded route through to the last 16.

That means the Reds will face a team who finished 15th, 16th, 17th or 18th in the last 16.

The identity of the team will not be known until after the play-offs, but the pre-determined draw means it will be the winner of the ties involving teams that finish in those four places.
