BBC reporting Kone to Chelsea is off, and Chelsea are now negotiating with Monaco to get Camara. Obviously I don't know how true that is; I do know we don't tend to do well when competing with Chelsea for players. It feels like we're done for incomings to me, despite a pressing need for certain positions to be filled/covered.

The new GK is to re-join Genk, so Mamardashvili leaving would mean Woodman is second choice. Considering Alisson’s fitness record, that’s playing with fire.

That said, Camara would be great. Hopefully, someone shows interest in Endo as well.

If one thing can go right this transfer window, it would be Mamardashvili leaving and Lamine Camara coming in, so I’m hoping this happens.

The way our summer has gone, though, I wouldn’t be surprised if Mamardashvili leaves and we pass up on Camara, despite every man and his dog knowing we desperately need a defensive midfielder, and instead opt for Minteh, who won’t even be fit until November.

Ben Jacobs and Alex Crook talking on Talksport now and saying Gasparini is saying no to Kone leaving so Chelsea looking to revive the Camara deal and have made a bid.

They are also reporting the club have stated their business is done.

Interestingly they have said the PSG owner said Mike Gordan had to step in to negotiate and get Barcola over the line.

I’ve not got anything personal against these two players, but clearly they are not needed in the squad and are not being played, so the club should find a solution to move them on.

Endo's contract is worth less than £3m. In no world, business or sport, should Endo's place in the squad be a blocker to signing a player that improves our ability to challenge for honours and much larger prize money.

Chiesa is different. He's on a big salary and would be more difficult to write off.

I had a long weekend in the Westin Valencia, the 5 star hotel opposite La Mestalla. Their overseas recruits tend to stay there on the whole. When I was there, Ezequiel Garay and his (beautiful) wife were sat at the next table in the hotel restaurant.

(They looked pretty bored and never said a word to each other).
Anyway, Harvey will have a super place as 'digs' and only a couple of minutes away from the stadium.
