No idea who it was but someone on the site put on here that there was a player flying in on Tuesday to have a look around Liverpool/ Cheshire and convince his wife of moving here. Believe he put the post up on the weekend before too.
It now seems, judging by reports that this is very much true and that player was Florian Wirtz. City have just publicly pulled out of the race leaving both Liverpool and Bayern as the remaining clubs.
I still think he joins Bayern, but it does seem interesting. Maybe there is a chance? We know Leverkusen don't really want to sell to a direct competitor (Havertz a prime example), we can only live in hope.
But whoever posted that rumour was spot on! Kudos.
1.) 19 May 2025 17:08:09
Same Monkey. My question is why do all the German clubs feed Bayern Munich?
It’s such a strange league. You’d think that’s the last place they’d want to lose their best players to. But we’ve seen it for decades, my entire life it’s seemed like the whole league has been set up to feed Bayern.
?.
{Ed001's Note - none of the teams want to sell to them but the players choose to go there as Bayern pay massive wages.}
2.) 19 May 2025 17:26:56
And it is a brilliantly run club, in a great city, in a well run country.
He'll probably never need move again.
3.) 19 May 2025 17:40:38
It is a mile off a well run country. You obviously don’t spend much time there.
4.) 19 May 2025 17:44:00
Do you think he’s nailed on for BM Ed’s or do we have a chance? So much bs about it’s hard to know what to believe.
{Ed001's Note - there is a chance.}
5.) 19 May 2025 17:57:37
markp08 Its a lot better run that this dump!
6.) 19 May 2025 18:22:22
Not really, it’s on a par. The transport system there is horrendous especially the trains. Shops are much more expensive for food, drinks etc. many areas are no go zones, millions and millions of migrants have taken over many cities. 10 years ago it was a great country not anymore. Germany has been in recession for the best part of 2 years.
7.) 19 May 2025 18:26:20
Why would Leverkusen sell to a rival, plus anyway believe Wirtz strongly prefers Arne's Bald head to Vincent's and Guardiola.
8.) 19 May 2025 18:51:45
It’s easy to run a club when you are so far advanced from any of your opponents.
9.) 19 May 2025 19:24:38
Because of the 50% +1 rule in Germany (majority owned by fans), it means they pretty much need to break even so have to sell to spend. Bayern make a fortune so can afford to spend on players.
I'm not letting my hopes increase over Wirtz but what a player he is. If he came to the PL, he'd still need to improve as the defending and keeping in Germany is shocking. I'm also wary about spending that much on one player as every signing is a risk.
10.) 19 May 2025 18:55:08
Ed001 I don’t know why but am feeling very confident now about Florian Wirtz the city pulling out makes me feel like it’s us his leaning too. The money being to much is just a smoke screen they said the same about Virgil when he only wanted us because he want to play in front of a full stadium. I feel with Pep not having long left at city and all the charges hanging over them there not the pull they was 2/ 3 years ago.
11.) 19 May 2025 21:14:58
It’s a lot of cash, especially when we need to invest in other players.
{Ed025's Note - its ok Gaz, they wont be knocking on your door for a contribution mate.. :)
12.) 19 May 2025 23:21:03
@LFC8, Bayern Munich are the draw card in Germany, PSG in France, City in England, Madrid / Barcelona in Spain, Celtic / Rangers in Scotland.
There’s a variety of historical reasons - tribal, political, religious but more recently it has become more financial than anything. The wild cards, like us in England have to rely heavily n the club being successful - having the right plan to succeed and to convince players that it’s about football ability and being part of something that could be special. That’s the situation with Wirtz now - join something special (us j or an almost certain guarantee of domestic success in his own country. It’ll be interesting to see what he chooses.
13.) 20 May 2025 00:16:10
We spent big on VVD and Allison. Worked out. Wirtz Wirtz we'll have to sell are own shirtz ?.
07 May 2025 11:56:06
Have seen a few mentioning a clip of that guy getting out of the Merc, meeting with LFC officials and then entering 'Signature Bespoke', LFC's suit tailor partner.
This is not a player, he is a real estate broker based from down south. He has however put on his story that he had a meeting with signature bespoke, discussing his 'clients' move to Liverpool FC.
Having looked at his website, he is a broker, selling high value houses from all around the country (£1mil +) . It would not surprise me if he genuinely is in Liverpool on business for a client, however it seems strange that he would be entering a suit store to discuss a clients move to Liverpool FC.
That being said he has been asked about who is client is, obviously he won't disclose but he says it's the truth and news should be breaking sometime this month.
Interesting for sure - used the club's official transport partner too in opulence voyage, who arrange travel for players, families and signings.
Good old fashioned rumour, albeit with legs.
1.) 07 May 2025 13:37:24
This is probably the best rumour in some time lol.
2.) 07 May 2025 14:13:21
Love the rumour!
3.) 07 May 2025 18:17:51
I knew it already, its Kerkez.
4.) 07 May 2025 20:31:24
Could be the new keeper picking up a house?
5.) 07 May 2025 21:20:42
Believe it’s the new seismologist the club have had to hire.
6.) 08 May 2025 08:37:26
I heard it was Hughes wearing a mask, just trying to wind us fans up.

Hi Ed002. Hope you’re doing well.
With the January window soon to be approaching I was wondering whether Liverpool will be still looking to sign a CDM?
The glaring omission from Liverpools side is an out and out quality number 6.
Previously you’ve stated that Liverpool will likely look to other options compared to Palhinha. The interest in Trindade is also well documented, although looks difficult to complete.
What other options are Liverpool looking to in that role? There’s not a whole lot of CDM’s I know much about!
Thanks very much.
{Ed002's Note - Andre Trindade (DM) Recommended to Liverpool as Fabinho cover a couple of years ago. Arsenal have scouted the player and may well make a move prior to the January Window with Edu being praised as being more respectful than a representative of another club. Prior interest of Barcelona and Braga has gone.
Fulham are keen to take him if Bayern Munich return and they lose Palinha - but there is a catch for interested parties who have been told must be resolved. Fluminense only own 80% of his rights and that would need to be addressed. They will also seek perhaps €40M including add ons.
I would not rule out Napoli but they may be some way off meeting the transfer fee or indeed Manchester United who will need a Casemiro replacement. I am not aware of any agreement between Liverpool and Fluminense just yet but there is the possibility of completing the transfer for January although they will have competition. Fluminense have a replacement lined up.
Kalvin Phillips (DM) Do not rule out Manchester City letting Kalvin Phillips go in January. He has been offered around but Liverpool opted for another and will bolster their midfield with another preferred target if possible, but he remains on the list. Aston Villa or West Ham did not see any value at the asking price.
Newcastle may yet offer a wildcard option, perhaps an initial loan. Juventus offer an unlikely loan option but are concerned he won't settle away from England. Spurs may be tempted. I am not aware of Everton making any approach but if Onana were to be sold he may be a consideration.
Ezequiel Fernandez (DM) After losing out on Boca youngster Alan Varela, Benfica have turned to another Boca youngster, Ezequiel Fernandez, as a potential Florentino replacement - Fernandez is also interesting Milan and Liverpool who had him watched by an ex-PL player who is now a very high-end scout. Would be an option to Andre Trindade.
Joao Palhinha (DM/CM) Only moved 18 months ago and Fulham will not look to sell unless a huge offer is made and the player asks for a move. All interest except that of Bayern Munich, Arsenal and possibly Newcastle will have gone with the signing of a new contract although Manchester United and Liverpool have had a will respected ex PL and high-end independent scout watch the player on their behalf - although both have other targets. Fulham will still look to replacements as they fear the player could have his head turned by Bayern Munich or Arsenal, who see him as an option to Trindade, who Fulham are also keen on.
Arthur Vermeeren (CM/DM) Barcelona have offered the well liked Royal Antwerp youngster the opportunity to join their B side. Manchester United had a long history with Royal Antwerp but would face Work Permit issues in England and would have to pay over the odds, apply for an exception or wait until he gets a full cap. Arsenal, Liverpool and Juventus have sent scouts.
Manu Kouadio Kone (CM/DM) Prior interest of Milan has gone. Newcastle did approach Borussia Muenchegladbach but they will resist a sale although Newcastle remain keen and the club have identified a replacement for Kone. RBL were keen to add Kone to replace Laimer but that interest, like the interest of Bayern Munich has gone. Juventus and Liverpool may have a continuing interest but I expect both to look elsewhere.
Khephren Thuram (DM/CM) Nice felt they were messed around by clubs in the summer and then the player picked up an injury. Interest of Spurs, Liverpool and, in particular, Juventus remains but Liverpool will likely focus on a preferred DM option but will turn back to him if unsuccessful.
Interest of Newcastle will likely fall away. If interest further grows his price will rise and the club would sell given the emergence of Alexis Beka Beka and an impressive youngster in Reda Belahyane. Nice do not want to sell and again a move to OLd Trafford will not be welcomed by the Nice supporters.
Real Madrid have him on a list of potential additions given they are facing midfield departures in the summer - and I would not rule them, or indeed Manchester City, out. Player wants PSG but they have no interest at this time - but his representative is pushing PSG as well as Real Madrid and will encourage the player to wait out the year and see what happens.
Assan Ouedraogo (CM/DM) Much is expected of the kiddie and Schalke will try and fend off interest from Chelsea and Bayern Munich who want to take him at 18 in the summer and have both spoken with his club. Schalke has also said that they are aware that an "agent" representing the underage player has been approached by someone representing Liverpool and that they have written to the club asking for this to stop. That will discount Liverpool. Brighton and Milan have sent scouts.}
1.) 12 Dec 2023 10:47:37
Is Andre our preferred target?
{Ed002's Note - Yes but there is strong competition.}
2.) 12 Dec 2023 13:51:29
Ed002 do you see us signing anyone in January or do you think we will go with what we have till the summer.
When with Thiago and Matip both out of contract frees up wages with both on big wages or do you think we will try to improve now we do looks very short of a first class number 6 Endo for me is nowhere near good enough to start against the top sides in the premier league or Europe.
{Ed002's Note - I would not expect Liverpool to sign players just for the sake of it in January unless a specific targate, such as Andre Trindade, were available. And they need to be aware of quotas.}
3.) 12 Dec 2023 15:47:57
I think if there were any way to engineer a move for Thiago and bring in Andre that would make the most sense.
4.) 12 Dec 2023 20:24:49
I'm guessing with Matip out for the season they could unregister him to create a space.
5.) 12 Dec 2023 20:25:36
Lol strong competition if he wants to go elsewhere he isn’t what we want then. There are 3 clubs in the Prem atm Liverpool Man City and Arsenal anyone interested in joining any of the others is not what we need.
6.) 13 Dec 2023 11:59:28
If we want him and are willing to compete with others on price, then I am sure we will win the race. However, if we're looking to play games, his advisors may just push him elsewhere.
10 Aug 2023 11:31:29
Strong rumours that Liverpool have bid for Caicedo.
Any of the Ed’s aware of this? It’s come as quite the shock as the amount would be upwards of £85mil but would go some way as to explaining why Chelsea outbid Liverpool for Lavia.
Will be interesting to see how it plays out.
(Not getting my hopes up)
{Ed002's Note - It would hardly explain Chelsea bidding for Lavia - their interest goes back way before Liverpool showed interest. If the club can sign Caicedo, it would be an excellent addition.}
02 Jun 2023 14:39:40
Just by way of update I thought I'd share some details from reliable journos atm with the most likely arrivals.
Midfield.
Alexis Mac Allister - Ed002 and reliable journos are consistently reporting that the player has no issues with the terms etc. Issue is the fee. Difference here is the media believe the fee will be less than £60.5mil and won't be an issue. Wait and see but this one will likely be concluded shortly.
Khephren Thuram - Ed002 has stated that Liverpool are very interested. Interest confirmed by two of the most reliable journalists in France (and Fabrizio) who claim Khephren would like to join, stress negotiations could take time as Nice don't want to sell. Neil Jones says to keep an eye and that Liverpool are very interested.
Kouadio (Manu) Kone - Fabrizio and swathes of reliable German reporters claim that this deal could be completed quickly. Kone would have no issue on joining and suggestions are Monchengladbach are in a bit of a pickle and will need funds (sacked their manager as I'm writing this) . Suggestions from Germany state Schmadtke's son is set to take on a sporting role within the club too. Reported fee is EUR35-40mil. Ed002 has confirmed interest.
Gravenberch - Reliable Liverpool journos and German media claim he's a top target. Has gone quiet of late. Ed002 claims Bayern don't want to sell.
Lavia - Reported interest from Neil Jones. No real news other than this. Will be leaving Southampton.
Mount - Was seemingly our first choice to join although I think Chelsea's asking price coupled with his preference of joining Man United means he will end up there. Shame. He's a great player.
Defenders
Goncalo Inacio - Clear first choice. Currently nothing in the media suggesting anything is imminent but Portuguese outlets claim Liverpool are intersted. Ed002 has repeatedly said this is the case.
Micky Van De Ven - First links in the media came this week. Reliable Wolfsburg paper (who broke the Schmadtke news) claim Liverpool are looking to sign him. Recently come out that he is a Liverpool fan and said he dreams of playing at Anfield. Has legs it seems.
Jurrien Timber - Name-dropped by The Athletic and Liverpool journos. Could be a target and it would make sense given he is a versatile player who can play as a fullback.
Not sure there's anything else.
1.) 02 Jun 2023 15:07:27
I agree with you in regards to Mount, I think he will be a good signing for whoever he does too (looking likely Utd) and I was surprised the amount of fans who don’t want him, even before it came out Utd are front runners.
2.) 02 Jun 2023 15:19:45
My take on things.
MacAllister seems all but done, but that doesn't mean it could take a turn sideways still. It does seem Liverpool are very interested in landing one of Kone or Thuram too. There's a lot going on here, and I believe Kone prefers Chelsea but they'd have to make room for him. It doesn't seem there was ever anything of substance to Gravenberch, besides conversations between Klopp and his dad. Lavia seems possible, but not first choice. That price is high for what he is at the moment. Mount seems destined for United. Something seems off with him too. He's had a lot of drama surrounding him lately, and I don't care for how he's handled his exit at Chelsea. Excellent player, but I'm unsure about his character.
As for the defenders, maybe Timber gets some legs, but these 3 in particular all seem unlikely. I think we go for someone, just someone else not on this list. Sporting is p. ed at Liverpool right now over tapping up incidents, van de Ven is rumored to have signed a deal that just hasn't been registered yet, and Timber doesn't seem like a good fit since we already have Konate. He isn't going to want to go somewhere to sit.
3.) 02 Jun 2023 15:48:33
Have to disagree on Mason Mount. Glad he is too expensive for us and glad his preference is United.
4.) 02 Jun 2023 16:25:09
Agreed alonso. also glad he won't be coming here. Sure 1 of the eds said its kone or thuram, not both. Hope its both myself with mcalistair. Think we need 3.
Hoping for a new cb but never really seen any mentioned play.
5.) 02 Jun 2023 16:37:25
I know we had previous interest in Lindstrom at Frankfurt, but have seen he's closely linked to Leipzig to be at the point where they actively bidding on him. Seems like LFC are out of the picture at this point.
6.) 02 Jun 2023 16:38:45
Would love both Kone and Thuram as they are the legs we need for our midfield but perhaps it is an either or situation as the Ed has previously stated. What are people preference between the two as they seem quiet similar? Again would love both but not sure where they would fit, even with departures we would still have hendo, Thiago, bacjetic, Fabinho, jones and Elliott although I do consider Elliott to be more of a Salah back up than CM, even discounting Elliott that's 8 midfielders for 3 spots.
7.) 02 Jun 2023 17:05:27
I'd be inclined to get both and make fabinho available personally. The drop off from this season is a massive concern. I know he and his mrs have had a child but that's no excuse for the drop off. He's on the decline unfortunately and may need a move for himself also. A midfield of thuram kone mcalistair adding in trent hendo baj thiago and Jones if he stays also. is a serious upgrade now ox and keita have finally gone.
8.) 02 Jun 2023 17:18:52
Magico, same here mate. I hope it’s both Kone and Thuram. Both players have come through the France youths teams together since the age of 13 and know each other well. Signing both would also allow Mac Allister to play further up the pitch in almost a free role, which would suit his game. Plus both would allow us to play a more intense tempo game. We will see what happens though.
9.) 02 Jun 2023 17:50:18
Magico stay clear of personal life comments, being 'no excuse' for poor performance. Keep it to the information we see not presume. Also, any father who prioritises their kid over career has my full backing.
10.) 02 Jun 2023 18:04:04
I agree on would be great to get both but I’d prefer It
If we got Thiago off the books .
I love Thiago he is just a joy to watch his abilities with a football are unreal but he’s a luxury player and we aren’t good enough to accommodate that . We need legs and mobility and 30+ games a season out of a player so for me I would get rid of thiago over fabinho just for the reasons above .
11.) 02 Jun 2023 19:21:59
Say what I want thanks. love fabinho but that season was dreadful from him and should be seriously looked at. baj could take his place for me.
12.) 02 Jun 2023 19:34:32
Completely agree Magico bud he's been well below par and id take both players if it means a stronger squad with legs.
13.) 02 Jun 2023 21:56:31
@OP, appreciate the update. Good summary and nice to have it all in the one spot.
14.) 02 Jun 2023 22:32:17
Dhfc. I'm not against letting fab and thiago go to be fair. its time. They slow the midfield right down and allow opposing players to get 10 men back in defence against our attack I'm afraid. New legs are needed for sure.
15.) 02 Jun 2023 23:52:24
Would love to see Thurman Kobe Mac alister in. Keep Thiago what a player yes he’s a luxury but when he has players who can do the majority of running like hendo fabinho 2 years ago he’s a cut above. This season has been a tale of decline in too many midfielders we’ve missed gini since he left too. Front line looks strong great young players just need some athleticism in cm. And probably a cb. Don’t rate konate he’s too clumsy. He’s decent but for me is a rotation player.
16.) 03 Jun 2023 03:41:46
No matter how great mount is with his injury record i would rather not have him here.
17.) 03 Jun 2023 10:34:12
I agree Magico we need legs and if we end up with Fab and Elliot/ Hendo having to play together we will have learned nothing.
18.) 03 Jun 2023 10:53:32
Diagree on Fabinho. He has dropped off, but the majority of the team has this season.
I see the games where he is caught out and it is often where his CM partners are not as defensively astute or cover as much ground. That leads to him covering more ground than he can and he gets caught out of position and has to make lots of dodgy tackles.
Then watch him with Henderson alongside him again, and possibly Thiago, and suddenly he is a commanding DM again.
Essentially, if Fab has legs around him he can perform, without that he looks average at best.
That is my opinion anyway.
VVD's performances this season have been no better than Fab's, and that is also linked as he has been exposed more due to Fab.
Honestly, that missing couple of midfielders has hurt the whole team.

Decided not to post recently in light of what’s happened. Although my thoughts go out to the family, friends and teammates of Jota and his brother. A true tragedy. He will be sorely missed. I think of it as he has not left Liverpool, or retired. He will be our No20 forever.
For the upcoming season I’m hoping the players use it as a common cause to go on and do great things. I would expect them to be fired up and ready to fight, after all that is the minimum that Jota would have done himself!
As fans we must back them and never forget Diogo or allow anyone to forget him, I have every faith the Anfield faithful and us fans will continue to sing his song and celebrate his contribution.
I don’t want to sound insensitive at all but with Diogo’s untimely passing I wondered how this might impact plans for this summer and it also leads me onto a question of insurance.
1) Will the family be supported by LFC for the foreseeable and will his contract be fulfilled (and hopefully given to his wife and children)?
2) In the event of a horrific tragedy such as this do clubs have contingency plans and insurance in place to attempt to sadly recoup any losses on a “frustrated contract”?
3) Michael Edward’s and Richard Hughes have been placed in a horrible position of effectively having to replace Jota. With Nunez seemingly leaving will it be the case of Liverpool now needing to sign at least two forwards?
Thoughts would be appreciated. I hope everyone is keeping well after the news, it was a blow for me personally and showed me truly how much I care for the players of the football club.
Ta,
Monkey.
1.) 06 Jul 2025 17:13:39
Monkey, in terms of your questions:
1) it’s been reported that the club will pay up his contract to his family - c£14.5m has been reported - and will create a college fund for his children - very classy.
2) clubs do have insurance for things like this.
3) let’s wait and see - the players and officials will need some time and if PNE goes ahead (currently it is) it will be an unimaginably emotional day.
13 Jun 2025 10:39:03
According to Ornstein, Paul Joyce and countless other reputable sources Liverpool have agreed a £116million deal to sign Florian Wirtz.
£100mil guaranteed with £16mil in add-ons, meaning it could break the British transfer record.
Seems a fair price and a good deal for all parties. I'm really excited to see him play for us.
How are we feeling? I know Ed001 in particular is a huge fan.
1.) 13 Jun 2025 11:14:03
@Monkey, Im a huge fan, as well. And like James Brown, "I feel good".
2.) 13 Jun 2025 11:17:38
I'm absolutely ecstatic. For the first time in my lifetime I feel like we're signing a player who is already a superstar and actually with their best years ahead of them.
In my lifetime, only with Thiago, Morientes and Litmanen have we gone and signed a proven super star; but they were all at the wrong ends of their careers and never had the impact we wanted.
We've signed lot's of players who became great (Virgil, Mane, Coutinho, Salah, Firmino, Alisson, Torres, Suarez, Hyypia, Alonso etc) . Wirtz is genuinely special already though and that is just something I've not experienced like this before as a Liverpool fan because he's not 30+ years old. We can actually build a team around him for a decade if we want.
3.) 13 Jun 2025 12:02:12
Barnes maybe?
4.) 13 Jun 2025 12:15:50
MKS, to be honest me neither. Thiago was the best and most technically sound baller I had ever seen play for LFC. I mean, next level stuff but like you said, he was at the wrong end of his career even tho, that guy gave me some brilliant "true baller" moments with a couple of trophies to boot.
Wirtz, tho? Like you sai and as they say in the NFL, "Dat boy good". Honestly if anyone has not seen him play (luck to have seen him play a few times in Bayer's invincible season) then, I beg them to go watch his games from that invincible season and the last season just gone. The kid is absolutely incredible.
The fee? I'll say this: If players like Enzo Fernandez or Grealish (players who are nowhere near Wirtz's ability btw) are going for or over 100m then, I have NO issue with us paying that fee for the best no. 10 on the market near all the big clubs wanted. And by a country mile. Happy "Flo" day, my guy.
5.) 13 Jun 2025 12:16:24
I was born in 1994, Florian! Barnes slightly before my time haha.
6.) 13 Jun 2025 12:59:56
Barnes is my favourite Liverpool player. He was a genius between 1987 and c. 1991. So many happy memories. One good thing about being 50.
28 Apr 2025 11:52:53
Morning all.
What a day yesterday was then and what a football club we support. Probably the most emotional I've ever been supporting Liverpool.
Hope everyone enjoyed it as much as I did, was a fantastic performance to win also. Liverpool were absolutely brilliant against a very poor Spurs side, it has to be said.
No20. Back on our perch!
Looking forward to the parade May 26.
1.) 28 Apr 2025 12:54:37
@Monkeylad, the best thing about this is that we get to actually celebrate this win again on the final day of the season when the PL trophy is presented. And a 3rd time with the parade even tho, many of us will not be there cos well, many of us can't.
This is NOT over by a long shot. Drink it in, my fellow reds. No regrets at all.
2.) 28 Apr 2025 14:36:09
Not sure my body can handle another 2 celebrations. I'm struggling a bit at work today!
3.) 28 Apr 2025 15:02:17
@monkey, everything in moderation, my friend.
31 Mar 2025 13:08:32
Feels like Milos Kerkez is going to be the first signing. There has been constant links since before Christmas for the player.
What is everyone's thoughts on him? I like what I see with him personally, he is incredibly intense. Looks strong in the challenge and a livewire on the left - exactly what Robbo was when he joined.
The only thing I would question is his crossing ability, looks a bit hit or miss.
What are your thoughts Ed001?
{Ed001's Note - pretty much the same as you, but I do worry about his lack of flexibility. He plays one way and that is it. Slot has not used that style of play for his left backs yet, so it will be interesting to see how it changes thing.}
1.) 31 Mar 2025 14:18:00
The two we have been strongly linked with, Kerkez and Hato, could not be more different in profile.
Might we end up with both eventually?
2.) 31 Mar 2025 14:18:26
One to keep an eye on. Perhaps he can be coached to alter his style when the game dictates? It will certainly help with Van Dijk next to him to instil some positional and defensive discipline.
Also who better to learn off than Robertson? Arguably one of the better Left backs the Premier League has seen. I think it would be a good switch for him and with his ridiculous energy I feel he would be a player the fans warm to massively.
Interestingly the right back spot is the most difficult to replace. I have absolutely no idea who Liverpool should sign.

Yeah a similar feeling Monkey. I do like his spikiness, I love that in Robbo. Will be interesting, as you say Ed001, to see how Slot plays him if he joins.
I'd still like us to buy Hato too, more as a 'learn from VVD and provide cover on the left' sort of player.
I can see Robbo leaving at the end of his contract in 2026 and Beck/ Kerkez fighting it out with Hato as backup (please Fowler! )
4.) 31 Mar 2025 15:25:30
I like Kerkez, Monkey.
I think it would highlight a shift in how we play, as ed001 alluded to but I actually think (amazingly too), we're yet to see Slot's proper philosophy come to fruition.
While there are clearly signs of changes he's made, particularly in Trent and how the defensive mid is used.
I'm actually excited for where he takes us, I think a striker who he likes is key and will see a massive shift in our style of play, along with a defensive mid.
5.) 31 Mar 2025 15:45:37
Does anyone know how he plays when on international duty? . if he plays differently it may suggest he can play a different way . but that's just how he is told to play at Bournemouth
Seems like an easy/ lazy buy for me . Hughes would already have all his info on him but it's not like we ever get stung by one season wonders is it .
6.) 31 Mar 2025 15:53:15
It's time for a rebuild. Tsimikas and Joe need to be sold. Its been 4 years and Joe can't stay fit so his versatility doesn't serve us well. His 28 and will not get any better.
Kerkez AND Hato/ Another CB need to be bought in the summer.
7.) 31 Mar 2025 14:03:34
I think he's been the best LB in the Premier League this season. Fast, powerful, good end product, aggressive defensively etc. One of the last players Ed002 confirmed we had an interest in was Kerkez so I think there is a good chance this one happens.
My main concern would be that he is weak in the air which can be important when defending the back post. But Trent and Robbo were both average when defending at the back post too and that never stopped us winning things.
Ed001, do you think Slot still wants to have the LB tuck in as a CB then? I know he did this at Feyenoord with Hancko but I thought Robbo might've been sitting back more this season because he has been ineffective going forward for a long time now and doesn't have the legs to get back either. When Tsimikas plays he still goes forward quite a lot, for example. You raise an interesting point though. Hato probably makes more sense based on how Slot utilised his LB's at Feyenoord.
{Ed001's Note - I think Slot wants flexibility from his full-backs, to give him options. It will depend on the situation, he might want them to sit back at times, bomb on at others or invert if he thinks that will be the best option for that particular game situation. He has shown he likes the players to be able to alter the way they are playing mid-game as well, which has been vital to our title challenge. I am not sure, from what I have seen of Kerkez, that he is capable of being that flexible, though he does have the advantage of being relatively young, which may make it possible to train him to play other ways.}
8.) 31 Mar 2025 21:46:17
I really like the look of Kerkez but he is very attacking. I feel we'd need a more solid RB to sit whilst Kerkez bombs forward.
That would either limit Bradley or mean that we can look for a more defensive minded RB (essentially more of a RCB) .
9.) 01 Apr 2025 00:47:33
Getting both in with Robbio and Tsimikas out could work. Two good young players but different styles so horses for courses. Hato can play CB too so maybe he can cover for VVD and take over long term as the left centre back while Kerkez holds down the left back spot.

Enjoyed the football on show this weekend. I thought Liverpool's performance and result against Bournemouth (the in-form team in the league) was impressive to say the least.
I was nervous for all the away games against Forest, Brentford and Bournemouth however this team keeps proving me wrong. 7/ 9 points at some of the hardest places to go this season and realistically, if not for some excellent goal line defending and goalkeeping, it would be 9/ 9!
Everton (A) is always going to be a tough game however this team has the players and ability to win that game. I think win the next two league games and we are in an excellent spot for the run in.
Also for those who think City are anywhere near it and can put a winning run together, the Arsenal result was a stark reminder at just how poor they are when a team turns up the intensity. They've been miles off it all season and have conceded 4 or more a few times. Liverpool need to go to the Etihad and hold that attitude, they will struggle if you don't give them the respect of prior City teams.
The title race is quite evidently a two horse affair. Liverpool vs Arsenal. Arsenal are a great team and have proven they won't back down easily, the hope is that their lacklustre attack will cost them again at some point. For Liverpool they just need to take it a game at a time, we are evidently the best team in the league so we just need to continue to perform like it. I have no doubt Arne and the boys won't rest on their laurels and will attack the rest of the season.
Let's back the lads all the way to the finish and, hopefully, watch Virgil lift our 20th league title at the end of the season (along with one or two others) .
1.) 03 Feb 2025 17:54:55
Winning at Everton and having that 9 point cushion will demoralise arsenal no matter what the that's on sky say. 9 points with 14 games left means we need 11 wins. 10 if you consider our superior GD and 9 if one of them wins is against arsenal at anfield.
But rarely do Liverpool ever do things the easy way.
2.) 03 Feb 2025 18:06:45
Unfortunately can’t see us winning at Everton, Cheslea, Villa and city.
3.) 03 Feb 2025 18:46:23
Everton are flying 3/ 3 wins, another very tough game!
But nobody is going to gift us this title, we’re going to have to go to goodison and beat them.
4.) 03 Feb 2025 18:55:16
i can't see u being a liverpool fan. None of those teams have a chance if we play close to our best.
5.) 03 Feb 2025 18:58:40
“Arsenal are a ‘great’ team”? Ahahahahaha.
6.) 03 Feb 2025 19:40:23
To say none of those teams have a chance is ridiculous. Most of our victories have been by tight margins and some games could have gone either way. Rarely have we blown any teams away to say with confidence those teams don’t have a chance. I can see Arsenal winning most of their remaining games which means we need to carry on playing at 100%, pray for no injuries to key players, and hope we can still win those games where the margins are tight which will be most of them.
7.) 03 Feb 2025 19:56:57
did you read the full sentence? if we are close to our best it said! If we are, not many teams can match us. And i disagree about tight margins. We have fully deserved 95% of our wins so far this season.
8.) 03 Feb 2025 20:18:34
Thing is Kohli, people assume if we loose a game Arsenal will simply win the game they play. That won't happen every time we drop points. They have to better our result week on week for many game to come. That is not easy when younare chasing.
9.) 03 Feb 2025 20:26:48
City adding a DM will make them a much tougher team to play than the one we just saw vs Arsenal.
10.) 03 Feb 2025 20:33:23
Arsenal will drop points in the next 14. They've had 8 draws already this season and need to get about 2.5 points per game from now on.
11.) 03 Feb 2025 20:42:39
You don’t get it Bummy. Arsenal have an easier run ahead. I stand by my opinion. We are in 4 competitions and one Gravenberch for all those.
12.) 03 Feb 2025 20:52:32
another harry account i see, Arsenal certainly doesn't have an easier run whatsoever imo, they have to play most of the same teams we play.
13.) 03 Feb 2025 20:53:31
Ruben Dias and Doku are back for that game too Brummy so its going to be a different line-up from city for sure, but if we're on it we can beat them.
14.) 04 Feb 2025 01:38:02
Kurt we also have Newcastle a couple days later. Really crucial week imo. If we take 4 points from those two I would be happy provided we win all the games until then.
15.) 04 Feb 2025 07:36:55
@Virat, saying Arsenal having an easier run in (with 14 games to play) is based on your opinion that everything you are capable of imaging will actually happen. Have many of the last 14 games for the entire division did you predict correctly? If it was 100% I wonder you aren’t an interweb sensation. As I say. If it was a simplistic tallying up of who has the better players we’d have all made millions at the bookies.
16.) 04 Feb 2025 08:16:54
When we won the league in 2020 it was very easy. If memory serves we were 19 points ahead when the league was stopped for Covid.
29 Jun 2025 13:15:06
Pretty reliable reports from Sami Mokbel (BBC) that talks are set to take place in the next 24 hours.
Valued by Palace at around £40-45mil although Liverpool will seek to push that down of course. Apparently Guehi himself is open to the move although won’t want to spend the season as third choice (I personally think he can push Konate out of the team) .
Not sure if you’ve already read this but thought I’d share. As for personal insights I have absolutely none! Although I like him as a player and think he would be a good addition.
15 May 2025 16:16:48
Sorry, has the CB been mentioned in the thread above already Ed001? Emmanuel Agbadou?
{Ed001's Note - I cannot confirm or deny that it is him. Bazza will answer this one.}
11 Apr 2025 10:25:05
Agent clarified on this that Gravenberch is very happy at Liverpool and isn’t looking to move.
He himself is from Spain and loves Madrid so he’s speaking from a personal perspective. Still ridiculous for an agent to come out and say this mind….
06 Jan 2025 13:27:35
Please don’t believe this. Completed made up rumour made by an Arsenal fan on Twitter. Simply put on the platform to spread misinformation and farm engagement.
03 Jan 2025 15:49:16
Yes it’s true, been rejected by Liverpool. Seeking £30million minimum according to Paul Joyce.
13 Jun 2025 16:14:55
Think I've posted about this before. Sometimes accusations of 'poor attitude' are hyperbole however with Duran that was not the case.
I had an interesting conversation with one of Villa's kitmen, who lives in my local town, about John Duran and how he was. He was described to me as a cocky, egotistical child on super wages. A pain during training and horrifically arrogant. Supposedly not very well liked by the senior players at Aston Villa.
Definitely not the sort of player you'd want at your club.
28 Apr 2025 14:36:09
Not sure my body can handle another 2 celebrations. I'm struggling a bit at work today!
09 Apr 2025 18:14:46
I get the impression that Hugo Ekitike could be looked at too, he seems a good player with a good all around skill set (would be relatively cheap) .
Nico Williams would also surely be on the list of Luis Diaz replacements!
01 Apr 2025 09:48:34
It's perfectly legal however, yes, most definitely a loophole.
The question is really how these assets are valued. For related party transactions (which this is as its a sale of several assets to an associated company) they need to be conducted at market value. Usually this involves some form of 'advice' received by experts who will value and then justify their valuation.
That being said, if the reported figures are true, I struggle to see how Chelsea will get away with this. They have listed almost £200mil as profit on disposal of subsidiaries - meaning effectively they sold their women's team (We only know of this disposal) for around that £200mil figure. Absolutely no chance it's worth that much.
UEFA are far stricter on these sort of rules so you can imagine they will absolutely make a case over this at some point. As for the Premier League perhaps they are investigating the values for APT?
31 Mar 2025 14:18:26
One to keep an eye on. Perhaps he can be coached to alter his style when the game dictates? It will certainly help with Van Dijk next to him to instil some positional and defensive discipline.
Also who better to learn off than Robertson? Arguably one of the better Left backs the Premier League has seen. I think it would be a good switch for him and with his ridiculous energy I feel he would be a player the fans warm to massively.
Interestingly the right back spot is the most difficult to replace. I have absolutely no idea who Liverpool should sign.
