Got some info that Schurs had agreed personal terms with Crystal Palace' but the valuation between 2 clubs is very far apart, will come as blow to us if he goes south, if we really were interested.

It seems Kloop has prioritised midfield before bidding for CB' so we will have matip and gomez.

bhav_reds

1.) 14 Jul 2023 17:44:19
It's being reported on the Football365 website as aggregated on NewsNow, for context.

2.) 14 Jul 2023 18:22:04
Maybe Guehi is being sold by Palace and he is the replacement - just wondering and definitely not read or ITK. Not saying Guehi coming to us, but would welcome him.

{Ed002's Note - Obsession with Chelsea’s Academy continues.}

3.) 14 Jul 2023 18:37:55
Thanks Ed002, honestly didn’t know he came from Chelsea Academy, got to say they really do produce some excellent talent - great to see.

4.) 14 Jul 2023 20:01:28
You rather like Chelsea fc don't you Mr. Ed002?! ?.

{Ed002's Note - Not as much as Klopp seemingly.}

5.) 14 Jul 2023 20:06:00
That’s ok Ed002, our obsession with taking your best players and turning them into superstars and then selling our players to you, for them never to play as well as they did with us can continue for as long as it likes. (Salah/ Torres/ Benayoun etc)
Levi is next on our agenda wants some scouse instead of jellied eels I hear, come on Levi, jump ship ?!

{Ed002's Note - When did Liverpool sell Salah to Chelsea?}

6.) 14 Jul 2023 23:08:54
I was not looking to instigate a debate about players from and to Chelsea, just appreciate the Chelsea Academy players produced - some excellent talent.

I know very little, just love watching football, chose Liverpool a lack of geographical knowledge (was very young in early 80’s) and picked a random team ??‍♂️ supported since.

Exciting season ahead, we’ve improved, Arsenal have and still plenty of transfer window left - thrilling times and for Ed002 - a new and talented manager - would be great to see Chelsea back in the mix ??

An exciting season ahead and some superb teams - great football and no rivalries - just the beautiful game ?.

7.) 15 Jul 2023 05:44:25
Without rivalries the game is nothing.
Great to have you as a fellow supporter Dr Who but rivalry is everything in football.

8.) 15 Jul 2023 07:06:04
Rivalry is great in sport but in football, it has devolved to be come extremely toxic and hateful.

But going back to the original topic, Chelsea have a wonderful academy and their infrastructure is something that we should be looking to implement. It isn't far from the truth to say that they have the best youth set-up in the country.

9.) 15 Jul 2023 07:59:55
Not saying that Chelsea don’t have a great academy set up, but I seem to remember when Chelsea was the Man City of the league a few years back and was spending Abramovich‘s billions like it was peanuts, they stockpiled all the best young talent around for year after year.

10.) 15 Jul 2023 08:53:35
From what i remember John Terry is the only good player out the Chelsea accademy i remember. We had, fowler, owen, gerrard, carra, mcmanamon, now we got trent, lampard cole, ashley cole all non Chelsea. So i would say our accadamy has much more world class players out of it than theirs.

11.) 15 Jul 2023 05:42:20
Ed002, you know what I mean, your management team couldn’t develop Salah into the phenomenon that Klopp has developed him into you pushed the boy out to Italy where we seen a player and made him what he is today.
Chelsea fans would do anything to have a manager like Klopp sir, you know it!

{Ed002's Note - That is pretty embarrassing.}

31 May 2023 07:50:09
Hi Eds are any clubs interested in Thiago and Fabinho, I would sell the pair if there is a decent offer.

We will be left with Hendo, Bajetic, Jones and Elliot as our Mid options.
Trent to play as a Mid as well.

We can then go for 3 new Mids from MacAllister, Kone, Thuram, M Savic and Rabiot.

bhav_reds

{Ed002's Note - Not that I am aware.}

1.) 31 May 2023 10:42:44
Thanks Eds, they must be on very bug salaries to make them unaffordable for other clubs. Seems two other mids in line for free transfer till their contract ends.

03 Mar 2023 03:40:14
Hi Eds may not be liverpool related .....................

bhav_reds

{Ed002's Note - Why ask on the Liverpool page then?}

10 Feb 2023 01:30:37
Is it true that RBL tried to get Keita back in January? They did bid a small amount to take him back?

bhav_reds

{Ed002's Note - They wanted an initial loan.}

1.) 10 Feb 2023 10:17:30
We can set up a go fund me and get him a taxi.

2.) 10 Feb 2023 10:25:58
What's the point of a loan to us when he's out of contract in the summer? It's as good as a sale. I swear clubs take the biscuit at times.

3.) 10 Feb 2023 11:04:52
I hate it when clubs take the biscuit. Especially when they start behaving like hobnobs

{Ed014's Note - Keita is defo the knob bit!

4.) 10 Feb 2023 10:57:20
Yes, thanka for reply Ed002, but don't see point of loan when he is out of contract in summer, also not sure why they have not worked on pre contract agreement with him? Or are they working on it already?

{Ed002's Note - They wanted him on loan to cover for three injured midfield players they have. It would have been possible if Liverpool had done the sensible thing and added a CM player and it would have got his wages and bonuses off the books - that would have been the benefit to the club. His agent continues to offer him around and there is some interest but I understand there is no firm offer to the player on the table at this time.}

5.) 10 Feb 2023 10:48:21
It’s not like we’d of missed him.

6.) 10 Feb 2023 12:49:04
Can anyone honestly think of a reason why any club would want to sign Keita. Football must be the only job in the world that continually rewards mediocrity.

7.) 10 Feb 2023 13:35:27
As a civil servant working for the moj, I can assure you that mediocrity is not only rewarded, but incompetence often actively encouraged in other professions.

8.) 10 Feb 2023 14:13:31
Ed hope game time is one of his bonus’s.

9.) 10 Feb 2023 13:15:34
Mediocrity. that's quite generous of you Johnny.

10.) 10 Feb 2023 17:22:14
Civil service mantra is do not make your boss feel threatened.

11.) 10 Feb 2023 18:00:40
Don't like slating the players too much JLCBM so trying to be relatively kind.

12.) 10 Feb 2023 18:16:56
I saw something that A C Milan are chasing Naby. I hope they catch him.

13.) 10 Feb 2023 18:21:31
“Football must be the only job in the world that continually rewards mediocrity. ”

See also politics and pundits at talkSPORT.

14.) 10 Feb 2023 21:51:46
Poor player. Attitude, contribution and level of play. Possibly Jurgens worst full-contract signing.

15.) 10 Feb 2023 23:25:13
Could you imagine the fallout if we’d let a midfield player go during what everyone keeps saying is a midfield crisis? Perhaps Klopp thought he could make a contribution for the rest of the season and from what I am seeing he is probably right.
We really need to stop this Keita witch hunt and try actually supporting the lad whilst he’s here. God knows we need him to be on form right now.

16.) 11 Feb 2023 06:12:56
West Derby Wanderer…. you mention AC Milan are chasing Naby and you hope they catch him…. believe me if my Nan was chasing Naby she would catch him ….

17.) 11 Feb 2023 12:54:40
AC Delco more likely paid in pies and onion gravy.

14 Dec 2022 08:41:46
Eds002 please can you confirm if we have interest in 19 year old Scalvini from Atlanta as one of 2 midfield targets.

I think we will go for 1 1st team and costly midfielder but we will also get a 2nd who will be cheaper with high ceiling.

bhav_reds

{Ed002's Note - Giorgio Scalvini (CB/DM) Spurs, Juventus and Southampton have shown an interest in the young centre back who has also covered for Koopmeiners as a DM this season.}

1.) 14 Dec 2022 12:09:15
Thanks for the reply Ed so more or Fabinio understudy.

{Ed002's Note - I would rather doubt it.}

07 Apr 2024 19:29:04
I still. harbour idea of replacing Salah and Cody with Watkins and diaby.

bhav_reds

1.) 07 Apr 2024 22:35:23
No thanks.

2.) 08 Apr 2024 00:47:09
Please divest yourself of these ideas.

3.) 08 Apr 2024 01:35:31
Good one mate.

4.) 08 Apr 2024 01:48:02
Watkins is clinical. amount of chances we create he would have buried a lot of them, he is 2nd top scorer in the league for a reason and would thrive with us. He also puts a hard shift in.

{Ed001's Note - he goes through long periods of being unable to hit the side of a barn mate. He is very hot and cold. Works hard and I do like him a lot, but he can be very wasteful too.}

5.) 08 Apr 2024 08:26:42
Draw a game and start replacing members of the squad.

6.) 08 Apr 2024 09:38:14
@bhav_reds said "Watkins was clinical". Now I know you don't watch Villa for sure. You also said, "he puts a shift in". Oh and Darwin is a lazy donkey? Are you for real? Watkins is a good player BUT he is just as wasteful as Haaland and Darwin (even tho Darwin is the better player, IMO) BUT if you are at Villa and you are English, nobody will care if you go 10 games w/ o scoring. Darwin gets battered cos he passed rather than shot even IF a goal came as a result for him passing it.

Watkins can hit the post 3 times and he will get rave reviews for his overall play cos well, English tax is a REAL thing. Heaven forbid, Darwin does that. It would be news for a week, which it was vs Chelsea. Darwin has more goals and assists in all comps. than Watkins YET Watkins is more clinical. Like I said, take the day off, man.

7.) 08 Apr 2024 16:36:54
That's true Oli but foreigner bias is also a real thing. Wijnaldum was no more talented than Henderson but yet everyone seems to remember Gini as some scintillating Zidane style footballer and remember hendo as just a hard working dude who did the basics well.

Watkins might go a few games without scoring but then mane did that, Salah is currently doing it - but Watkins is the highest scoring English player without being fed 20 chances per game like Salah is.

If you put prime Torres in this team or prime even prime Salah in this team we win 5-0 against United. It's how we can tell Salah is well past his best because he is missing chances that 3 years ago he would have buried. He's also getting outpaced by players who aren't even considered quick. The majority of salahs goals now are pens or box finishes, so we should play to his strengths and move him into the middle as a late Ronaldo style poacher.

8.) 08 Apr 2024 17:05:45
Nevada, I agree, bro BUT the Manes, Salahs and now Darwin used to get/ now get battered for it in the media whereas the likes of Watkins are left untouched and this is more prevalent when you play for England. As for Hendo, he was the target ever since Fergie got bitter and angry cos Hendo had the guts to reject him and join King Kenny at Liverpool and cos he was such a sore, pathetic loseer about it, he attacked Hendo in his book in the most despicable of ways and it got stuck on him. The Fergie part is a fact.

Also, you got to realise that Hendo got the armband from Gerrard and the anti Hendo fans along with the por-Gerrard fans did NOT think Hendo deserved it hence, he was targeted as well. This is just what I have observed over the years so there you go, mate.

07 Apr 2024 19:23:51
I think Arsenal will win title because of their defence. They are now closing down games and mostly keep a clean sheet.

With us we always allow opponents to score even sheffield did and we normally need 2 games minimum to win a match.

Arsenal can win 1 nil but they end up scoring more

Why we always have a bad pass, lapse of concentration is beyond me. we always allow opponents to feel they are in the game, and when are forwards mis fire as they are doing recently we loose points and matches.

Arsenal and Macs are more capable of a clean sheet then we are at the moment.

bhav_reds

1.) 07 Apr 2024 22:06:26
I’ll be honest I’m desperate for us to win the league. More for Klopp than anything else. As a fan of course I want us to win the league but if we don’t I’ll still be at games next season and the season after and after that and so on ?

Sadly this is klopps last dance with us and from the 3 teams competition all are outstanding and it’s pretty hard to separate the 3.

Currently out of the 3 we are looking the least clinical though despite possibly creating more.

We still have 2 shots at trophies this year so hopefully that’s our bump in the road and city and arsenals are to come.

2.) 07 Apr 2024 22:31:23
So are we giving up now?

3.) 07 Apr 2024 22:32:56
Yep. Can't remember the last time we kept a clean sheet.

4.) 07 Apr 2024 22:39:13
Arsenal have been lucky with injuries this season. Their 2 main defenders, who are tremendous, have been fit all season with rice and other key players mainstays.

5.) 07 Apr 2024 22:40:52
we have the same clean sheets as City.

6.) 07 Apr 2024 23:59:51
Exactly, @Faith BUT it seems people are starting to throw in the towel on this thread whereas Arsenal are top ONLY on GD, not even on points. So much chest when things are going great BUT as soon as some adversity appears, they fold their tents and go home. Sad.

7.) 08 Apr 2024 03:24:46
It is disheartening for us to, for the third time this season, outplay yet fail to beat a pretty average United side. Our inability to kill off games, and to not convert draws into wins, has been a constant theme in previous title run ins, and looks like it will be critical again. It is not throwing in the towel, but being honest about what we are seeing. We are struggling to keep clean sheets, we are struggling to finish the glut of chances we create, we are not playing that well at what is a critical tine of the season. That is it. Can we still win the title? Yes. Will we? I wouldn’t bet on it.

8.) 08 Apr 2024 06:52:41
The mentality monsters were wallflowers in the 2nd half yesterday. Profligate in the 1st half. Again.

I really thought the players would learn from the FA Cup defeat. The small blessing is we didn’t lose this one but as VVD said, it feels like a loss.

Ramadan excuses for another poor performance from Salah, even though he lost half a yard since much earlier in the season. What is Szoboszlai’s excuse for passing when in a position to shoot and shooting when in a position to pass? Or Nunez ineffectiveness in front of goal against Utd, again. If we are relying on Jota up front, we are going to struggle.

One other thing why oh why does Robertson get into so many great scoring positions but has such a crap shot on him?

It’s squeaky bum time and we need a pinch hitter. We cannot rely on Macca every week. The question is do we have one.

9.) 08 Apr 2024 08:29:04
Who’s giving up Oli?

10.) 08 Apr 2024 09:41:05
JK clearly NOT you, based on your post, alright? So calm da heck down and don't get triggered. It cannot always be about you, bro. Have a coke and a smile.

11.) 08 Apr 2024 09:44:19
@StEtienneAmen, I agree with majority of what you have said. The buck-passing in the final third among the forwards is killing me. It's like NOBODY wants to take any responsibility at the crucial moment.

Did you see where Diaz was free to blast it past Onana and then he inexplicably squared it to Darwin who looked shocked as he was too wide hence, in no position to score and had to cross it back? That took the cake for me. I mean, what are we doing in training? Why all this over-passing in the final third on the counter? It's doing my head in, man.

12.) 08 Apr 2024 10:27:11
Haha Oli apologies for asking a question.

I hope you've not used all your internet data replying to me being so TRIGGERED.

You have 7 more free streams to go of your football tv show.

13.) 08 Apr 2024 10:46:17
Agree oli that was driving me bananas yesterday. So many times people were passing in good shooting opportunities or trying to dribble more and delaying shooting.

Mac was pretty much the only player in the team who made the correct decision every time, everyone else seemed nervous. United were also more crafty as the game went on, they constantly cut off passing lanes to van dijk to stop him receiving the ball and leaving it with quansah, we can call it lucky all we like but the fact is they forced us into playing the game they wanted to play.

It was like Duran Vs sugar ray Leonard 1 - it should have been Duran Vs Leonard 2.

14.) 08 Apr 2024 15:35:43
We never give up reds we keep going until it is impossible to win the league. Plenty more football to play, yet reds keep believing guys.

02 Sep 2023 06:05:29
Who is negotiator for Nottingham forest, they made 7 signings yesterday
. it this some kind of record.

bhav_reds

{Ed001's Note - to be fair one was just from the owner's other team. They no doubt use both sets of staff to work together on recruitment as they pass players back and forth at will.}

1.) 02 Sep 2023 09:28:41
Btw Forrest and Olympiakos, right?

03 Jul 2023 04:35:04
Why are we not looking at Laporte for CB position, will Man City not deal with us?

Him, VVd and Konate can rotate as first choice with gomez as backup, matip and philips moving on.

bhav_reds

1.) 03 Jul 2023 05:37:37
I would be all over getting Laporte in the door but I reckon he wants Barcelona or Madrid.

{Ed001's Note - isn't he injury prone?}

2.) 03 Jul 2023 05:58:36
Ain’t got the minerals to hack it at Liverpool that’s for sure. Has played at a pampered club and used sparingly, I have no idea where this recommendation has come from. No thanks.

3.) 03 Jul 2023 05:53:53
Fair one Ed001. Not what we need if he’s that bad. Be an upgrade on our injury prone Matip or Gomez when available though!
Jokes aside I do rate Laporte and I’m just not seeing that many options to shore up the back line. I thought Micky VDV looked an ok option but seems he’s off to Spurs. Perhaps we’ll give Sepp VDB a chance? I really hope so as I think he could make the step up.

{Ed001's Note - that is why Pep wants rid as he can't rely on him. He is on big money as well. I don't see the sense in the move, may as well not bother if you are just going to end up left with the exact same issues as you had before.}

4.) 03 Jul 2023 06:37:25
I know Ed2 has put the kabosh on Gvardiol coming and, as difficult as that is to accept, i will to retain the outward appearance of a mature adult.

But are City really going to spend nigh on 80 mill a piece on DeJong AND Gvardiol?
And is RBL really going to let go of 3 of its big coin players in the SAME transfer window?

Flummoxed.

5.) 03 Jul 2023 07:28:26
Fair one Ed001. Let’s hope there’s a decent CB out there for us that fits the bill then. I can see us sticking with Matip until his contract runs out, especially if we miss out on Micky VDV. Give Sepp VDB another year to develop.

6.) 03 Jul 2023 08:12:34
Pau Torres would have been a great shout but looks Villa bound, and at the reported 30 million would be a bargain.

7.) 03 Jul 2023 11:26:41
Spot on, Jones Red. I have no idea why we weren't in for him or maybe we were and never followed thru. He is really good and always rated him. Oh, well.

As for Laporte, we complain about how injury prone our players are yet people say we should sign another perennially injury prone defender? Make it make sense, people.

8.) 03 Jul 2023 11:48:50
Just looked at Laportes injury record and he missed the first 7 league games last season after knee surgery and that was it.

21/ 22 he had no premier league games missed through injury

20/ 21 he missed 4 league games through injury.

11 league games in 3 seasons

Doesn’t sound too bad but very much doubt City would do business with us even if we were interested.

12 Apr 2023 06:01:52
With all the news about JB in past few weeks, is it the case that FSG and Kloop were going to spend part of that investment to enter bidding war for JB, and now that is not forth coming and no UCL revenue, we will not have a bigger transfer chest.
May be with investment we were planning Jube plus other players
With out extra monies coming in its back to other players and no jude. Hence we have backed off.

We missed 5 on 2 and 4 on 2 chances, nothing Klopp can do there.

Only thing I don't know is what is role of Gapko and Gravenbach for that matter.
I hope next managers can make better use of them.

Also Gomez should have been subbed and not robbo. u need players like robbo on pitch.

We don't need Matip replacement as he has barely featured and quansha and Gomez are good covers.
May be decision made on Ramsey if he can be part of squad.

In Middle. thiago to leave. Jury out on Gravenbach but we should give him another year. so don't think we need additions there as well.

Sign one good wide forward if Salah leaves. I would be tempted to sell Gapko. and replace them 2 with Wstkins and Diaby at Villa.
