Henderson is getting some end to his career. Nice wages at Chelsea. Bizarre club it is now. I can see Xabi getting sacked in no time.
I still read all the usual Saudi ignorance. I don't even believe most of you care about half the stuff y'all "champion".

Henderson was a great lad around the club, players and staff. Excellent player under Klopp.
Ronaldo is still out in Saudi and no one mentions anything. Move on already. Go and explore the world.

I don't care where Henderson plays his football but why are you bringing up Ronaldo? We are Liverpool supporters, I couldn't care less about Ronaldo.

Hi lads

Created an account a while back but been busting this site for years! Thanks to all the ITK and the Eds. I read this site religiously

One thing I must say Henderson is a LEGEND of the club who give it everything for us

Jude show some respect

He kind of tainted his legacy a bit in my opinion, when he started using his position to champion certain non football related agendas. Then, pissed off to the most un-accommodating society on earth for mega bucks. Smells a bit of hypocrisy to me.

10

29 Jul 2026 20:50:12
I think he's a great fella. Seems like a top pro, football needs more honest players like Hendo. 💪

4

29 Jul 2026 21:02:57
Why is everyone starting new threads about old topics?

1

29 Jul 2026 21:35:47
@ The Incredible Bulk, let's keep it football related mate.
Hendo is a legend, simple as that.

6

29 Jul 2026 22:01:09
Druss: The Legend.

@LBC, What a weird thing to ask.

29 Jul 2026 18:12:42
Not sure if Rayan deal will happen now as Kroupi has been injured in training and will be out 3/4 months, can’t see Bournemouth letting him go.

3

29 Jul 2026 18:30:13
I was not optimistic of that happening anyway, to be honest. Bournemouth were always unlikely to sell after just 6 months with the player.

2

29 Jul 2026 18:54:01
I swear they don't even play in the same position?

0

29 Jul 2026 19:27:29
If he comes it'll be most likely in 27, when the release can be activated. Not a disaster if we have Barcola, Munoz, Rio, Gakpo and Chiesa until then. Plus Wirtz and Dom can play in the wide positions of a 4-2-3-1. More urgent needs in RB, RCB to address.

29 Jul 2026 17:35:30
If Henderson had gone to another PL club I would have thanked him for the years of commitment and effort to LFC and would have regarded him as a legend but by going to Saudi he was supporting the clear sports washing that the Saudi's have done with City etc. You cannot disagree with the City or Newcastle senario and then say it's okay to take their money and for them to use your name to sportswash.

Henderson knew he had made a massive mistake and left after circa 6 months and how much damage he had done to the gay community and I can see why FSG wouldn't want him back.

29 Jul 2026 18:02:20
So OP, do you take issue with Bobby, Mane and Fabinho too then?

5

29 Jul 2026 18:07:22
What damage to the gay community? Some hurt feelings? He made a mistake, lots of people make mistakes in life.

4

29 Jul 2026 18:11:31
The irony of you slating Henderson for taking Saudi money, whilst using the username "NunezComeBack" is surely not going to be lost on anyone. I presume this is satire, or you're fishing for bites.

20

29 Jul 2026 18:20:15
The Hendo hate is uncalled for. Ok, he made a mistake going to Saudi, but the LGBTQ+ lot seem to think he owes them something.

He didn't have to get behind their campaign in the first place, but he did.

People calling him a gay basher and stuff are stepping over the line. There seems to be a lot of people who would love his career to be ruined because he went to Saudi.

8

29 Jul 2026 18:28:19
Wijnaldum too.

0

29 Jul 2026 18:48:31
🤣 City's owned by a UAE-based group. Saudi Arabia is a completely different country. That's some crazy low-IQ energy.

Hendo can do what he likes, he can't change the religious beliefs of an entire nation. I bet 90% of the people who accuse him of doing wrong by taking the job work for or with companies with morally questionable practices. No difference.

5

29 Jul 2026 19:28:30
Henderson and his virtue signalling that blew back in his face when his missed wanted the Saudi cash but couldn't handle the lifestyle out there.
He was integral
to
our game under Klopp and I'll
value him for that, but let's save the flag waving.

3

29 Jul 2026 19:28:40
What really got to me is when Jill Scott slated Jordan Henderson for going over to Saudi due to human rights and gay rights.... Lo and behold, the World Cup comes around in Qatar.... Miss Scott takes the money and goes over there to commentate on the games.... Money talks.... 🤔🤔

9

29 Jul 2026 19:52:38
Hendo didn't have to wear the rainbow laces before he went to Saudi, he chose to.
That was his show of voluntary solidarity with the LGBTQ community.
Going to Saudi was a career decision when he didn't have a lot of options.

It doesn't diminish his support for the LGBTQ community, in my opinion, as a white, straight, over 50, male.
It's as stupid as saying "all the foreign players who come to play in the PL have the same politics as the UK government".

Please tell me this isn't a new Harry account?

1

29 Jul 2026 20:18:18
Lightsise, who's waving flags? How did it blow up in his face? Do you think he's really bothered by a bunch of Karens on social media? He secured the bag. Mission accomplished.

Well said, Ron. Very good point.

3

29 Jul 2026 21:42:53
How many Harries do we have now? You were right, Zed, it's like whack-a-mole.

1

29 Jul 2026 22:09:42
Perhaps Hendo wanted the money?

It seems to me that there was / is a lot of hypocrisy around what Hendo - a grown up with the right to choose - decided to do when he left Liverpool. Coming to the end of his playing career and with people waving truly massive amounts of cash, why not simply take the money for himself and his Danilo.

In his position, I would, but maybe the two of us would be the only ones to take the money.

Like I said, earlier he had / has a great attitude, a great leader and a very good footballer.

As I left my sister’s house right in Birkdale Golf Course, last night to head home to Liverpool, I was a bit blinded by an oncoming vehicle with the widest spaced headlights you’ve seen. I thought it must be a huge American Hummer. Then when it got next to me I could see it was two motorbikes escorting a car, with another one behind.

Like a private security firm.

I did think it was an imminent signing coming. 😂 Unless US senator is in town, or an ostentatious drug dealer. Surely that is only plausibility. 😂

May have been a dummy run for tomorrow's game:

Liverpool v Wrexham KO 00:30 July 30 (half an hour after midnight, tonight) on LFC Channel, and never knew this. Wrexham have their own TV channel, Wrexham AFC Live.

I have Allred Video, I would recommend this. It's the same as the LFC Channel: all the pre-season games, PL matches, U18, Academy games. A couple of hours after they finish, the whole match coverage of all the cup, Euro Cup, PL games.

£45 pound from June to next June the first, that's circa a pound a week. You won't get a better bargain than that. On Sky I was paying £9 a month for LFC Channel, ROI is circa £12. You can get it monthly Allred Video for £4.99 a month as well, terrific bargain in this day and age and ye not supporting Murdoch.

That was Bezos with some small change from down the back
of his sofa to buy 30% of the club.
He's looking for a new bunker space.

Probably the latter, the ostentatious drug dealer

29 Jul 2026 15:51:10
Bloomberg reporting that the Bhatia-led consortium is considering how they'd eventually purchase a controlling stake in the club.

How does everyone feel about that?

1

29 Jul 2026 16:24:39
It's been good under FSG. New owners come with new worries, in all honesty. Bad owners can destroy a club.

7

29 Jul 2026 16:28:31
Hoping FSG go against that. I've been really impressed with FSG. They've made mistakes but also listened to fans and haven't been scared to back track when they realise their decision is wrong.

When you compare them to some of the other owners at different clubs, we are extremely lucky.

The idea of signing us over to someone who doesn't have the club at heart doesn't sit right.

I know it's a business, but it's a unique business, you can't look at a football club with regards to just making profits.

People like Bezos should stay as far away as possible.

9

29 Jul 2026 16:29:43
Better the devil you know...

6

29 Jul 2026 16:39:40
I am with the consensus, FSG have been great for us.

7

29 Jul 2026 16:49:34
Without a doubt. Stay the course with FSG. It's been a steady path so far, no need to look at new controlling owners.

6

29 Jul 2026 16:55:47
FSG might not look to sell a controlling stake. The 30% that's been talked about is enough to net them 1 billion in profit while still owning a majority share.

29 Jul 2026 16:58:45
Can I recommend you read my post from the other day on what is likely to happen.

0

29 Jul 2026 20:33:01
A club as big as ours is inevitably going to end up in the hands of big big hitters, but at least the main guy had a good rep and is liked by the QPR fans.
Imagine the reach - this lot are second only
To the City owners, who are worth 500bn.

0

29 Jul 2026 14:28:02
Reckon Barcola deal gets done for around £110m.

5

29 Jul 2026 14:55:57
Apparently around 40m in add ons also.

0

29 Jul 2026 15:14:32
Add-ons are:

1. Liverpool to win the World Cup,
2. Crewe Alexandra to qualify for the Champions League; and
3. Arne Slot to have a statue built at Anfield.

15

29 Jul 2026 15:42:15
Doubt it, I imagine it would have to be north of £125m, with considerable add-ons.

0

29 Jul 2026 15:54:19
The £110m is as far as I'd like to see us going.

6

29 Jul 2026 16:34:29
I'm not sure the price the club decides to pay on any transfer will have any baring on the fans. I know it's said ticket prices will go up, but that's decided long before, with inflation.

I don't think in the history of football a club has ever lowered ticket prices because they've sold players. If the club are happy to spend, then let them spend.

0

29 Jul 2026 17:33:03
An odd 5 million this way or that way. In relevant terms, does it really matter that much nowadays?

1

29 Jul 2026 17:33:09
The going rate for a decent player now seems to be around £100m.

It's bonkers. 😂

2

29 Jul 2026 22:25:25
The going rate for elite clubs is exorbitant but with most of the elite clubs are backed by massive wealth these days it's not really an issue. The thing that is lagging behind is the expectation of older fans of these elite clubs who can remember the, relatively sensible, cost of buying players in the 1970's and 80's.

@1jj cited a source (football financial analyst, from dodgy memory 😳) who cited Ryan Reynolds buying Wrexham for £2m 5 or 6 years ago that's now worth @ £200m.

Won't be too long before wee get the first £1bn signing the way things are escalating.

1

29 Jul 2026 13:28:07
Credit to the people who give the best information they can over the years.

But this window seems more likely to hold out and maybe give Iraola a year to use what he has.

1

29 Jul 2026 14:00:27
Rubbish.

11

29 Jul 2026 14:06:06
I hope and think you are completely wrong.

4

29 Jul 2026 14:15:22
I'm not taking the mick here, it's just, you know, we all know we are very, very short at the back - let's be real, Jacquet hasn't played since February.
This is Liverpool FC, surely they should do more.
Top four, I think we currently have enough if we are lucky with injuries.

1st September is a long way away, but we can't ask Vvd to play every game - Leoni and Jacquet need time, so.
For me it's worrying the backline hasn't been addressed yet.

3

29 Jul 2026 14:32:08
If Vik is Eeyore, that makes you Droopy.

3

29 Jul 2026 14:38:21
Stop worrying, PostKlopp. It's early days.

1

29 Jul 2026 14:41:44
Some people are so impatient in this transfer window... There's a long way to go until it closes, & I'm pretty confident we will sign the right players to cover all positions we require.

0

29 Jul 2026 14:57:08
We will definitely be signing at least another winger.

Personally, I think we'll sign Barcola, Wharton and Kounde.

6

29 Jul 2026 15:02:56
I'd settle for that, MK.

3

29 Jul 2026 15:21:55
I would too, Rome. I would prefer Lamine Camara for the midfield, but Adam Wharton is who I think we will go for. Possibly even Alex Scott.

2

29 Jul 2026 15:44:36
Nonsense, it's going to be a very busy 4 weeks.

This is nothing like when Slot arrived; he had the benefit of a team that Klopp rebuilt and developed. It was ready to challenge for a title and really needed no additions. Right now, we have some gaping holes and the club knows it.

3

29 Jul 2026 15:46:52
Now I'm definitely not saying that I know a lot (Actually, according to my wife I know SFA), but Wharton just doesn't do it for me, lads. I feel we need more physicality in midfield, and for me that's where Wharton lacks.

BarryinLouth (Seeing as everyone is at it, I may as well). 😁

5

29 Jul 2026 16:08:50
Barry, I agree. Think we need a bit more steel in the midfield, n why is everyone trying to sign off like Carra Ta?

3

29 Jul 2026 16:35:56
Iraola will just make Endo better and he can start games.

1

29 Jul 2026 17:34:15
Imagine if we let Mo Salah leave a year early and not replace him. 😂

I agree with Barry, which is worrying in itself.

1

29 Jul 2026 17:37:27
JK, he won't. Endo is already too slow, and at his age, he is only going to get slower.

0

29 Jul 2026 17:41:17
I like Endo too, JK. Has big commitment, which is an even bigger attribute. He cannot nor won't be the permanent number 6, but he can do a job when required most definitely. I do agree with MKS and Rome. I'd be happy with Wharton, Barcola and Kounde, but I believe we also require Rayan and I believe that we will sign him this summer for the RW.

Those players, in addition to Jacquet and Munoz, to me, are a much better window than last summer's spree.

0

29 Jul 2026 17:48:20
You know it makes sense, FC8. 😉

0

29 Jul 2026 17:51:09
Don't think Wharton is anything special - definitely not a £100+ player. If you're going for someone with good passing and skill, that amount of money can get you much more.

Having said that, I agree with others that we need some bite in midfield. Interesting to see if Iraola sticks with Sobz, Wirtz and Gravy in midfield or if he introduces a proper number 6.

0

29 Jul 2026 18:08:26
I would not pick Wharton either, guys, even of the two I think we might be genuinely interested in, I'd prefer Scott.

It'll be interesting to see what happens in midfield. Someone needs to leave to make space in the 25 man squad for a start, and it could very easily be any one/two of Endo, Elliott, Jones or Mac Allister.

I don't think any of them are secure in their positions at the club. Szoboszlai and Gravenberch are the only two we have that require registration who I'd bet my house on being here next season.
