A lot of reports saying firmino failed a fitness test so won’t be starting tonight. Anyone heard different?

1.) 01 May 2019 18:55:35
Confirmed Liverpool team for tonight :

Alisson, Gomez, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson, Fabinho, Milner, Wijnaldum, Keita, Mane, Salah.

Subs: Mignolet, Lovren, Firmino, Henderson, Shaqiri, Origi, Alexander-Arnold.

Come on you mighty Reds!

2.) 01 May 2019 19:00:14
I think we are doubling up on Messi with that team.

3.) 01 May 2019 19:14:23
Maybe 532 with Milner wing back also Robertson on other side, with fab Gini an naby behind Salah, mane . I am suddenly shxtting my pants!

4.) 01 May 2019 19:25:18

5.) 01 May 2019 22:25:51
Inexplicable selection and why the oh so late substitution of Bobby when the game has gone away from you?

6.) 01 May 2019 22:41:12
I think it shows our weakness by not having a quality forward to bring on. Origi isn't it. my mate was screaming for them to have a defender on the post for Messi's free kick.

7.) 01 May 2019 22:44:57
Just reading, and listening around, everyone’s saying the same.
Jurgen Klopp and heavy metal football. But why then did he go acoustic on us for a CL semi final?

8.) 01 May 2019 22:50:09
Acoustic? He went full on folk music meets nursery rhyme.

9.) 02 May 2019 06:38:07
The usual level of support after a defeat i see, thank God we don't lose many under Klopp.

10.) 02 May 2019 07:45:48
The match stats suggest we bossed this game, well all the unimportant ones do anyway.

{Ed025's Note - the most important one was goals scored johnny..

11.) 02 May 2019 10:27:24
What are we supposed to say? We agree with Klopp’s selection and tactics?
We played an away CL semi final with no striker up front.
You have to score in your away leg, everyone knows that, but we took out TAA (half of our width supply) and had no striker.
It was narrow and negative and as soon as Barcelona saw that line-up they were pumped up and took full advantage.

12.) 02 May 2019 13:17:53
I completely agree Ron, Trent whipping one in back post and mane leaping like a salmon we’d have a few. Gomez ain’t a full back.

13.) 02 May 2019 15:04:33
Out played Barcelona the Spanish champions in their back garden and all I can see is complaining. Liverpool as a team are exceptional however we don't have a top goal scorer an Aguero or a Suarez. We miss as many chances as we score. We lost 3-0 to a side that really only had 1 chance got 3 lucky deflections for the 2nd and a deflection on what was an unstoppable free kick. Mane missed a sitter Milner missed a sitter firmino had a shot cleared off the line and Salah missed an open goal. If it was 3-3 you'd be talking different. It's not though it's 3-0 sometimes you don't get the rub of the green however it's one cl final and one semi in two years and we look like a proper team. Also Trent is great in attack but he's terrible at defending always gets found out. Klopp always goes with Gomez against good teams. Liverpool need a proper striker in the summer.

14.) 02 May 2019 17:23:44
Negative? Did you even watch the game? We had more of the ball and more shots than our opponents. Their goalkeeper pulled off a couple of great saves and Salah missed a wide open goal. You can say many things about that performance but negative isn't one of them.

15.) 02 May 2019 17:50:17
barcelona's world class players finished, and our slightly less (well, much less than messi) talented world class players didn't. messi has been a difference maker like this for over a decade now. it would have been very difficult to win that game under most circumstances with him in the lineup, on their home turf, and without any of the pseudo pressure to catch up on any aggregate goals. not being able to even score one or two though? that will end up being why we won't go on to the CL final. criticize the lineup/ formation all you want, but we had our chances and we just didn't finish.

16.) 02 May 2019 18:27:40
What got me yesterday was that Klopp changed the team, and in doing so weakened our attacking threat, because it was Barcelona that we were playing.
He played the man, not the ball, so to speak and tried to be overly-clever.
Gini is not, and never will be, a false 9. He barely affected the game at all, and quite often got in the way or made the same runs as the other front two.
I’ve always backed Wijnaldum on these pages but he was dealt a poor hand by Jurgen last night.
If Firmino was not fit, play Oriigi wide or through the middle and, at the very least we’d have had an aerial threat?
Other than that, we had our first choice, season-starting back four available for selection last night. The one that went unbeaten almost to Xmas.
Ok Trent can be got at when he’s at RB, but how many assists has he got this season?
When we had to score an away goal.

Very very disappointed last night. Klopp tinkering when we could have had our first choice team out. 1/ 3 of our chief attacking threat wasted, 1/ 2 of our chief assists from FB wasted.
And then doesn’t react until it’s far too late.
Poor poor, in my view, and so disappointed in what transpired yesterday.

17.) 03 May 2019 17:26:16
Can anyone remember a time where Gomez has played full back against a big team and we won? Can’t think of any. Stifles the attack on his side, every time he got to the byline he let a Barcelona player tackle him for a throw or corner. I think Trent would of managed with Milner in front of him.

In the summer we need to buy a serious striker and sell Origi, Sturridge and Shaqiri. They’ll all in the squad to replace an attacker if injured, if Klopp doesn’t trust them then just buy one serious striker and make him compete with the others. If the front three don’t like it, tough they’re not good enough to win the champions league or prem alone. City can have elite players on the bench in Mahrez and sane, why can’t we? We have the money and ambition so not sure what’s holding us back. That’s the next step for us to become a team that wins instead of a team that competes.

18.) 03 May 2019 19:01:37
Uglyben2019, if only Liverpool had a top goal scorer who has scored more goals than both Suarez and Aguero over the last 2 seasons. Oh, I don’t know, someone like Mo Salah perhaps?

19.) 04 May 2019 06:56:01
if we play the home leg with strongest line-up and just play it like a premiership match anything could happen.

we can put a hat full in past any team on our day. we may as well have a real go at them and lose on aggragate 6 -0 than sit back and worry about an away goal.

20.) 07 May 2019 16:09:23
lol Salah a top goal scorer he needs 10 chances to score 1 he plays in a brilliant team with some good players but he's no finisher hence he hit the post. His stats show that the team and the manager are doing a great job. If klopp can add a top finisher or if Brewster is as good as the rumours suggest then you klopp can play Salah and mane as the wingers they are and firmino behind the striker creating as he does. The teams brilliant but they could use a striker with an eye for goal. Fantastic to be in a title race and to be competitive in Europe. Add some good young talent to step in for injuries and cup games would be cool.

26 Apr 2019 18:11:55
Hearing horrible rumours that firmino is out for the season. Hope to god it’s not true but he’s not in the squad for tonight.

1.) 26 Apr 2019 19:02:03
Hopefully he just being rested but I believe even though he is important in the way we play we can cope without him for a handful of games.

2.) 26 Apr 2019 19:08:38
“We assess it obviously. It’s not a big thing but was enough to leave him out today, that’s all. ” (Klopp)

3.) 26 Apr 2019 19:12:24

ON FIRMINO: "Yesterday after training he mentioned a little muscle injury. It’s not a big thing but enough to leave him out today. "

4.) 26 Apr 2019 19:22:18
Relax, Liverpool fans. It sounds like striker Roberto Firmino should be fit in time to face Barcelona in the Champions League on Wednesday.

"Yesterday after training he mentioned a little muscle issue, ” Klopp told Sky Sports.

“We assess it obviously. It’s not a big thing but it was enough to leave him out today, that’s all. ”.

5.) 26 Apr 2019 22:20:28
a handful of games? there's only a handful of games left lol.

6.) 26 Apr 2019 23:21:15
It’s not that serious, think he’ll be fit for Wednesday.

7.) 27 Apr 2019 08:24:36
Klopp on RF - “Bobby trained completely normal. It was not high intensity. We had to work on set-pieces a little bit and a couple of things. “I didn’t see [the injury] in training. It happened after the last situation in training, he felt a muscle a little bit. The official diagnosis is that he has a small tear in a very small muscle. Apart from the word ‘tear’ everything is positive. It’s Bobby, so he might be ready for Wednesday but we don’t know obviously at the moment. But because it’s him, it’s rather likely than not. We will see. "

8.) 27 Apr 2019 09:18:22
Twitter for twits.

9.) 27 Apr 2019 12:14:10
Instagram photo showed strapping on his thigh. Cannot be that insignificant.

10.) 27 Apr 2019 13:02:03
In the words of ChuckD. Don’t believe the hype.

11.) 27 Apr 2019 14:00:09
Didn’t realise this was posted I checked and couldn’t see it.
The rumour didn’t come from Twitter it came from an ex players son. All the same glad to hear it’s not serious.

12.) 27 Apr 2019 15:31:30
Faith - I think that's what he meant lol.

12 Dec 2018 20:11:43
Evening Ed’s,

Are there any plans to bring in another left back to cover Robertson? Moreno can’t be here for much longer surely, and he isn’t really adequate cover anyway.

Also when we dropped interest in fekir did we decide that we are happy with what we have in that position or is it still seen as a position that needs to be filled? Any names of players we are looking at, if there are any?

{Ed001's Note - yes, we will be looking to get a left back in the summer and we bought Shaqiri instead of Fekir.}

1.) 12 Dec 2018 22:15:35
Do you believe we will go after a striker in the summer Ed001? I'm prompted to ask after last night because that was definetly a game highlighting our need for someone clincal up front. Maxi Gomez might me a shout maybe someone we've looked at if you know?

{Ed001's Note - it is a long way off mate. Far too early to say.}

2.) 13 Dec 2018 02:18:14
Moreno x Kieran Tierney.
Lallana x Coutinho if not H. Wilson.
Milner x Ruben Neves.
Matip x Pavard.
Sturridge x T. Werner.

3.) 13 Dec 2018 03:42:33
Vakpa may be on fifa 19, but do agree with T. werner for sturidgge.

4.) 13 Dec 2018 06:15:49
Definitely fifa 19 thinking.

5.) 13 Dec 2018 07:59:01
Bugger Coutinho, we don't want him back! or I'd like to think the majority wouldn't anyway.

6.) 13 Dec 2018 08:10:25
If he came out and said, " listen I made a mistake ere I want my Liverpool back " then maybe but got more chance of Shaqiri covering at centre back .

7.) 13 Dec 2018 10:01:35
Is Timo Werner going to be happy to be back up? Would he offer more to the team than Firmino? No on both counts in my opinion, and he'd cost an arm and a leg - highly doubtful.

09 Jun 2018 09:56:35
So with the fekir deal seemingly slowing down a little bit for what ever reason, would lfc now have other members of staff trying to negotiate for other players? A keeper for example. Or would they just concentrate on trying to get fekir signed?

I only ask as for me conceding less goals should be the aim as opposed to adding more firepower be it a new cb or keeper.

So wasting so much time just so Lyon can play hard ball seems futile. They either want the money or the player, they can’t have both. So surely if we carry on with our other transfers it will happen eventually anyway right?

{Ed025's Note - there will be a list of alternatives ashy..

1.) 09 Jun 2018 14:27:36
The club is a publicly listed company, and strict stock market rules suggest they are not allowed to announce transfers until the window officially opens this weekend.

(daily mirror report)

2.) 09 Jun 2018 14:33:11
Publicly listed companies announce their reports/ earnings guidance and any major items outside of trading hours all the time so you can be assured this is nonsense.

3.) 09 Jun 2018 14:53:07
Sorry Ed’s I wasn’t meaning alternatives for fekir, I was wondering if we are actively trying to strengthen other positions or are off just throwing everything at getting fekir signed?
Do we have other members of staff working on other transfers or will that all come after fekir?

{Ed002's Note - It doesn't work like that I am afraid.}

4.) 09 Jun 2018 18:53:50
Gibbs, it is not nonsense. What Corkycat is saying is correct based on the guidelines of the French Stock Exchange as well as the date the TW opens in France which is today, I gather.

31 Aug 2017 18:47:49
Sakho gone.

1.) 31 Aug 2017 18:58:07
Yup. Seems to be for 26million. Good business.

2.) 31 Aug 2017 19:01:47
26m to palace.

3.) 31 Aug 2017 19:08:25
Not good business selling the best cb youve got, not getting a replacement and then going into the season with only 3 senior cbs which include lovern and klavan.

4.) 31 Aug 2017 19:12:26
Needs to be reinvested into a cb.

5.) 31 Aug 2017 19:16:15
But sahko wouldn't be picked anyway. It's 26mil or we have a player (whose wages we are paying) who is not going to get a game no matter what. I keep saying it "7 clean sheets in last 9 premiership matches" that is not a team that can't defend. We will be fine as we are, and stronger with vvd. Sahko is irrelevant. That said I think he is a decent cb.

6.) 31 Aug 2017 19:17:24
He isn't the vest CB and people need to remember he was part of the poor displays.

7.) 31 Aug 2017 19:16:30
If you think Sakho is our best centre back you know diddly squat. His behaviour off the pitch has been unprofessional and his play on the pitch erratic to say the least. We have four centre backs not three.

8.) 31 Aug 2017 19:18:55
The man is an idiot.
Having a guy like that in the dressing room is not worth the aggro.
Klopp is manager just back him why dontya.

9.) 31 Aug 2017 19:21:19
Pakred, you need to see it that he was nothing more than a burden on our wage bill. Its been a long time since Klipperty made it very clear he wouldn't play for Liverpool again under any circumstances so in no way could he be counted as one of our CB never mind our best. I agree he has skill and sad it couldn't be worked out but that ship sailed many many months ago.
For the best I think as clearly he has attitude and behavioural issues and JK has a good squad atmosphere and team spirit at the moment and we don't need what he brought, so I agree with JK and as much as I rate him as a CB glad to finally see the back of him.

10.) 31 Aug 2017 19:23:02
And he fell foul of Klopp and others at the club with his disrespectful and disruptive behaviour.
Well rid.

11.) 31 Aug 2017 19:31:27
He was head and shoulders above them all. Wasn't afraid of a challenge and could head the ball properly.

Massive shame how his LFC career panned out.

12.) 31 Aug 2017 19:33:15
Good stuff. Another £26 mill to balance the books. Let's hope this keeps the freekicks and corners from blasting into the back of the net!

13.) 31 Aug 2017 19:49:17
Getting a replacement for a player who has not played for us in how long? Klopp wants Van Dijk or a top quality cb if one were available who would improve our starting 11 considerably. If he can't get him we can't just buy someone no better than lovren. For instance the desperation has made people on here think Johnny Evans should be bought. Maybe the supposed interest of other top teams is making some think maybe he is world class but had we made him a target at the start of the window there would have been an uproar.

14.) 31 Aug 2017 20:09:46
'he can head the ball properly'

i really disagree, his heading is poor. he wins the ball bt barely directs or gets power into it.

15.) 31 Aug 2017 20:13:37
I really don't understand the failure to see that Sakho played in the bad patches of games, isn't noticeably better than Matip who is the best CB and has a disruptive attitude that undermines the manager and the squad. What of any of that makes it a bad deal to sell a player that is those things and other teams aren't queuing up to buy. If he was that good City would be chasing him and not Evans. They aren't and two teams from the relegation end of the table are the ones who want him.

16.) 31 Aug 2017 20:23:07
After gomez lovren matip klavan I can't even think of a cb in u23s who could step up, so many games up til january bit of a gamble this I must say!

17.) 31 Aug 2017 20:30:44
I agree Gallstones, only 1 can think of is Can, if we are desperate.

We really are risking it with such a thin backline.

18.) 31 Aug 2017 20:31:17

19.) 31 Aug 2017 20:54:41
Pakred how is he our best CB?
A few last ditch tackles resulting from his own poor positioning does not a good defender make.

How we found a team willing to spend more than what we paid for him is a mystery to me and shows how inflated the market is!

Good luck to him but won't be missed.

20.) 31 Aug 2017 21:02:39
I wouldn't be surprised if liverpool pulled a strange one out of the hat this evening in terms of a cb. Not getting vvd but we will in the end. January or next year. Unless he goes to arsenal or chelsea which wouldn't totally surprise me. I think 4 cbs, with one being quite young and another not proving that great, we are a little thin there. An injury and a suspension and we are in trouble. I reckon we'll grab someone on a year loan perhaps or someone old but good ish. To fill the numbers.

We've signed some very good players this year and I've thought all summer that keeping pipco could be our biggest success. It looks like it's happening. Let's forget about any possible disruption to the squad and remember how good the lad is and feel pleased he will be on our team this season.

21.) 31 Aug 2017 21:15:29
Hailstones, rennie yous do know we only play with 2 cbs. As Eds have said many times if we were to sign a cb it would more thand likely mean one was going out. Likely meaning the end of gomez chances. He may have even been allowed to go on loan had he not showed Klopp signs that he is going to be a good option as backup across the back 4.

22.) 31 Aug 2017 21:30:29
Superred, how is keeping a player who has said that he doesn't want to be selected or picked in the champions league squad a positive thing?

23.) 31 Aug 2017 21:37:48
Kloppshop I understand what you are saying about 2 at the back but think back to last season. Matip is injury prone, Gomez is unproven. We are an injury or 2 away from no one else left to support.
On the plus side our front 3 is awesome and will terrorise teams all season.

24.) 01 Sep 2017 01:09:34
Rennie. True but isn't every team?
I'm not sure they are injury prone or just got a few unfortunate knocks last year. 4 cbs should be enough. It's the quality of these that is our only problem.

25.) 01 Sep 2017 07:58:20
Sakho was unprofessional, but coutinho has been unprofessional too, to an even worse extent you could argue, but yet one will be given a second chance, and the other not even allowed near the squad and now sold, doesn't look great setting double standards like that no matter who it is.

26.) 01 Sep 2017 14:44:56
worminator one of those is a world class player and the other is a decent but not great EPL player who has acted like a tool in the past as well. IF (and it is still a big IF) Coutinho gets a second chance that might be the difference. Having said that, considering how firm Klopp was over Sakho and that statements on here by reliable people (e. g. Eds) suggest that Klopp has had enough of him, then I wouldn't be surprised if Coutinho is ostracised as well. If the club could make the bids it did, without selling Coutinho, then the money isn't at issue, so they can probably afford to take a stance and say he's going to rot until he does something major to make up for it, or rot generally, or be sold when it suits the club, etc. Right now, if the window closes tonight and he isn't in Spain, then the stronger position would seem to lie more with the club no matter how good the player is. Personally I'm glad the club stood by the manager on Sakho. Can you imagine the club backing any player if they'd done that to Dalglish or Paisley?

Any going to Madrid?
What are your plans for accommodation? I’ve had a quick look and they’re all stupid money.

1.) 08 May 2019 13:11:56
I'm tempted by going to a different city and driving across but even that will be crazy money.

2.) 08 May 2019 14:18:28
I’ve got a hotel via booking. com in Valencia. 2 hours on the train to Madrid. Struggling on flights now though, heard a guy saying it’s cheaper to go to France than go by land but it’s a nightmare trying to plan.

{Ed002's Note - Try via Frankfurt am Main - there are plenty of flights to and from Madrid.}

3.) 08 May 2019 14:35:05
Cheers Ed il try that.

4.) 08 May 2019 15:12:09
I'm looking as well right now. How good are trains/ etc in/ out of Madrid on busy days? Thinking staying on the coast as well might work.

{Ed002's Note - They have high speed trains but they will very busy in Spain - Paris, Lyon, Marseille and Toulouse all have direct links as well.

I may just go along myself.}

5.) 08 May 2019 15:26:37
I looked at flying to Barcelona then 3 hours on the train.

{Ed0333's Note - Try Alicante and driving from there?

6.) 08 May 2019 15:35:06
Cheers Ed0333, I'll take a look at that idea.

28 Apr 2019 22:11:51
Ed’s, I’ve noticed 2 posters now stating that they are no longer Liverpool fans and generally just slagging the team. In the event that we do win the league or champs league any chance these “fans” can have a little dagger put next to their names?
Little turncoats lol.

{Ed002's Note - The posts should have been deleted.}

1.) 28 Apr 2019 22:43:22
Take no notice of them just bitter fools. Real fans stick with thier team no matter what and to be where we are is a brilliant achievment in itself. We are right up where we should be and long may it continue.

2.) 28 Apr 2019 22:56:44
Theyve picked a bizarre time to do it. Liverpool are about to register a better league season than any of the great united sides have ever managed, let that sink in.
Some take more satisfaction from being purposely negative so they can say 'i was right' rather than supporting the team, and all these people know their days of this kind of negativity are coming to an end, they won't get the chance to be right anymore so they're resorting to trolling and fishing for reactions, i have no patience for it, and they are not fans or supporters in the first place and i won't be told different.

3.) 28 Apr 2019 22:58:17
It’s not really a big deal. One of them was Harry so he technically hasn’t posted here.
I just find it a little hard faced if they come crawling back if we win some silver that’s all. Laughable really.

4.) 28 Apr 2019 23:57:06
I always thought that anyone could post a comment or statement (regardless of the team supported), as long as they registered a username. That's the way it should be, I think. But these are Liverpool supporters' pages, and the vast majority will not react kindly to consistently negative posts or comments, for obvious reasons. So it's a kind of self-regulating mechanism and effect. Harry left as much because of wanting to, aside from also being driven out. I see trolls and "cheap thrill-seekers" doing the same.

5.) 29 Apr 2019 07:11:24
Sorry I’m lost, I assumed people were taking the pi#s about Harry. He hasn’t actually jumped ship has he?

6.) 29 Apr 2019 07:51:05
He was never really a supporter, if you look at his posts over the last few years you would see he only slags off our players and club. Good riddance to him every time he posted he got me really annoyed and usually the reds wouldn't post my response to him (I would like to thank them for that) . Keep up the good work eds.

7.) 29 Apr 2019 09:13:22
Who are the two? Thought it was just Harry to be honest.

8.) 29 Apr 2019 10:21:12
This is taking the term "Fickle fan" to another level.

9.) 29 Apr 2019 10:35:53
IB, if Im not mistaken the op is referring to Harry and a poster called something on the lines of 'young' that's all I remember but he made a BS post yesterday and I think it's now been removed, thankfully.

10.) 29 Apr 2019 11:30:06
Thanks Salah, thought I'd missed someone else defecting lol!

11.) 29 Apr 2019 12:31:26
People aren't supporting liverpool anymore because city beat burnley!?! can't work that out.

Ever thought of an iq test when people sign up to the site eds?

{Ed025's Note - if we did robbie alot of liverpool supporters would miss out mate.. :)

12.) 29 Apr 2019 13:27:23
Please don’t take this as me believing they should be banned from the site or what ever.
I just believe they should have to have a badge of dishonour next to their name so if they try to come back when we are winning everyone can see what they really are lol.
Branded as a traitor lol.

13.) 29 Apr 2019 18:27:03
I'm sorry, was Harry ever an LFC fan? I specifically asked him that once and he responded with some nonsense like, "I'm just a football fan". I knew there and then that he was just here to cause trouble and dissent within the LFC clan.

Like someone just said, good riddance to him and the other "fan". They were never true supporters of LFC. Harry esp., only showed up to post whenever we were in a sticky patch. He never showed up to post his opinions whenever we were in a purple patch. That is all I needed to know that Harry was NEVER an LFC fan.

Now you know what would be crazy? If LFC were to beat City to the PL and Harry has to leave the City page and come back here with the tail btw his legs. Now that would be legendary. As for the other poster, don't know him/ her hence, don't care.

Hi Ed’s,

It’s been mentioned that the pressing game is difficult to maintain over the course of a full season so klopp has changed our playing style in a bid to try to get us over the finish line this year.
Do you believe that last night vs Watford is the first time this season that we have been allowed to really use the press?
Has klopp saved this tactic for later in the season so we have some fuel left in the tank and we can use the free flowing attacking football for the remainder of the season?

{Ed001's Note - yes.}

1.) 28 Feb 2019 08:44:19
Our strength lies in High press and high attacking. The rest all are complimentary to the system. We should stick with this tactics and add players that allows the manger to rotate without burining the engine. I do not believe In changing the tactics ( My opinion and has been from day one )
We look a different animal when we press and play the game like yesterday.
Full backs bombing high up dragging players, committing bodies into the 6 yard box, it’s a treasure to the eyes.
We are a counter press team and should stick with it imo.
Not saying klopp is wrong just having an opinion on our style of play.

2.) 28 Feb 2019 09:40:41
I forgot that one defeat in 28 had nothing to do with our immensely improved defence 😳

Your opinion changes like the bloody wind harry mate.

3.) 28 Feb 2019 10:06:47
It makes sense if that's the case. Of course you have to change your tactics. They are tweaked for every game, depending on the opposition and what players we have available.

I really hope we see the press more in the run in. Blitz Everton and I'll be very happy. I think we will win all our games, maybe draw one. And I think City will lose to someone, utd maybe.

4.) 28 Feb 2019 10:11:57
Sorry Ed do you think Klopp has actually been holding back from the press reserving energy’s for a push in games from now on then?

{Ed001's Note - yes, it was felt from the data that the players ran out of steam last season in the final weeks. The plan, as I have been saying all season, was to make sure that did not happen again and to slowly turn the wick up, so to speak, as the season went on. So that, when it matters at the business end of the season, we can go at it full throttle.}

5.) 28 Feb 2019 10:27:21
If that is the case Ed001, it seems as though the man united performance could be the catalyst and kick up the arse the manager and players need. A realisation that it is time to play to our strengths and go full throttle again. Given we are 1 point clear and seem to have restrained ourselves to this point, and with City eyeing up the champions league, plus their injuries and the intensity they have been playing at this season, as well as unfavourable fixtures; is everyone feeling confident going into the final stretch? I am pledging to myself to enjoy it and go into every game with confidence, but not cry if it doesn’t happen. The lads have made me immensely proud this season and have come a long way, regardless of who wins what.

6.) 28 Feb 2019 10:55:18
Thanks Ed, I like the sound and the thought of that mate very much, although more risk of injuries no doubt going full gas ⛽️. Let’s hope it works mate in the remaining ten games.

{Ed001's Note - injuries happen anyway, no point worrying about that.}

7.) 28 Feb 2019 12:13:02
He's picking and choosing when to use it perfectly so far, has made us less predictable. Home to Watford was perfect time to let the shackles off as he knew the fans and players needed that after Sunday. I wouldn't expect him to apply this every game though.

8.) 28 Feb 2019 12:32:08

One defeat has no relevance if we finished 2nd to a team that lost 4 games already. Immensely improved defense have Allison, VVD and Gomez to thank for.
Why don’t you drop Allison and play Mignolet there and try this tactics?

9.) 28 Feb 2019 13:36:27
To be honest I remember will ramped up the press for a few matches in December as well (e. g. Napoli, Arsenal) .
I do hope we sustain it now till the end of the season. Having options in midfield to rotate will certainly help. Just hope our full backs and forwards can sustain momentum till the end of the season.

10.) 28 Feb 2019 18:54:51
Spot on, Klopping. We have played the press several times this season already and have pummeled teams like B'mouth twice, Arsenal, Newcastle, Napoli, PSG etc. Why? Cos the occasion demanded it. Not sure we will be doing that at Everton on the weekend except of course, the situation allows it. I like you, don't expect that to change.

For those who keep saying we should stay with this tactic, Ed has already said repeatedly why Klopp made the choice and in fact, Klopp has addressed it and it has worked so far hence, saying Klopp should od what you want, is irrelevant cos he won't.

12 Jul 2018 09:51:09
Just got to say I’m loving that third strip! Was going to go and buy the little lad his first strip tomorrow, night not be having the red one now.

1.) 12 Jul 2018 09:56:59
Cool Ash. It is the shirt of European contenders.

2.) 12 Jul 2018 10:00:24
First kit has to be red 😲 otherwise he'll grow up saying he supports 'The Purples'

3.) 12 Jul 2018 10:01:46
You beat me to it!
Yeah it's an absolute pearler that kit.

4.) 12 Jul 2018 10:19:54
It's the grey kit MKS.
Overtones of that late 80s version.

5.) 12 Jul 2018 10:40:29
You mean to say the purple kit is our 2nd kit? Dear God. I thought the grey one would be the away kit 😂 what were NB thinking!

6.) 12 Jul 2018 11:19:02
think my first kit was the yellow version with crown paints on it around 84/ 85. it was the only thing i would allow myself to go to PE in, loved it!

7.) 12 Jul 2018 11:57:48
My first ever football shirt was a Chelsea shirt my mum got me from the Charity Shop. I still sick a little in my throat when I see the photos of 5 year old me, completely clueless at what I was being made to wear. Dark days. Mum is still in the doghouse for that. It'll be in my speech at her funeral as the only time she let me down.

First shirt I asked for was when I was about 12 years old and I got the 06/ 07 home kit with Gerrard on the back. I got the third kit from that year with my own name on the back too. The one that was white but had a bottle green splash down one side. Loved that kit.

Since then I just get a home kit every 3 years (sod paying £80 a season to indulge sponsors), and every black kit they produce.

8.) 12 Jul 2018 12:21:25
The hideous the kit the more chances to win the league. that purple one will get us some points, bleeding the eyes of our opponents.

9.) 12 Jul 2018 12:21:42
I get every home kit every year now since 2006 the year my first son was born. Probably wear once only and then cover in plastic. They will be keepsakes for my boys. No names or numbers. Sometimes I look back through. We've had some beauties and some not so great, but I love them all.

10.) 12 Jul 2018 12:40:59
That is a really nice idea Preso 👍.

11.) 12 Jul 2018 13:12:10
MK I just got on your profile by accident. Is that you, your missus and your dog? I thought you were older than that, quite a bit older.

12.) 12 Jul 2018 14:15:27
Former dog now, but yeah that is a picture of me and my Mrs when I was 22 and she was 18. I'm 24 now and a bit more bald 😂.

26 Jun 2018 21:02:47
So apparently Lyon have met with Jose mourinho over the transfer of fekir.
Man united where fekirs first choice anyway right? So they really should be in the driving seat to close that deal.
If it’s true about mourinho negotiating with Lyon then all the stuff about not negotiating until after the World Cup was a lie, is it just that they had enough of dealing with us?

1.) 26 Jun 2018 21:10:39
Ive stopped listening to Aluas and rarely did anyway. Best thing is just to wait til after WC and the player can decide where he wants.

Judging by France, s performNces it won't be long before they’re out.

2.) 26 Jun 2018 21:40:44
Things you need to remember about Aulas, he likes to troll, he’s hard to negotiate with and he’s good at what he does. You’d want him running your club!

3.) 26 Jun 2018 22:20:14
FranklyMrShankly, exactly, the man is a businessman and a damn good one it seems, good on him, he's not a daft fella.

4.) 27 Jun 2018 00:09:22
Mourinho In the driving seat?
Is Fekir in the boot?

5.) 27 Jun 2018 00:42:06
Do buses have boots?

6.) 27 Jun 2018 02:54:41
If tbe club pulled out of the deal originally because of concerns over his long term fitness as was widely reported then I'm happy for Utd to take the driving seat.

7.) 27 Jun 2018 07:19:16
i couldn't care less about Fekir at this point.

8.) 27 Jun 2018 09:59:16
'Ere now Mr Klopp, if you don't want him I've got a buyer named Jose lined up waiting to make an offer so don't you take too long making yous mind up!

It's almost like you guys have never got a second hand car or rented a flat.

To be fair I actually agree with VVVV this time. The top players are paid the top money, we can't compete with the mega rich teams financially.

I don't see our owners paying salah what he wants (or at least what the papers are claiming he wants) .

I also think salah knows this and even if he says he doesn't want to leave I really don't think he would care if he left for giant money.

I have a terrible feeling he will go on a free and we have no money to bring in ANY player, let alone a replacement for salah.

We always read about mbappe and haland but let's be honest, we couldn't of outbid Newcastle for wood even if we wanted to.

Lfc will solely be run by volunteers from now on.

From what I was told Gerrard was less than impressed with the attitude of Duncan.

Apparently he was dropping Gerrard's name every chance he could to get what he wanted. I heard Gerrard wasn't happy about it.

Although it looks unlikely what we need to think about is city are 11 points clear.

We have a game in hand if we win that the gap is 8, we have yet to play city if we beat them the gap is 5.

If we beat them and reduce the gap to 5 points that's a lot of pressure piled on that they haven't had to deal with this season.

Also we both have tough games. City have west hame 2nd to last game kf the season who could be playing to secure champions league football!

Villa last game of the season, imagine if stevie seals the title for us with Aston villa!

I know it's all ifs and buts and long shots but it all starts with us slowly starting to close that gap. Anything can happen this year with C.V. etc also city have looked leggy in a few of their games, they aren't the gods of football that the press make them out to be.

I know it looks tough but pressure will start to mount if they can't shake us off.

It's OK saying we will sell players to fund an overhaul. If we sell those players we need to also replace them. If we sell Bobby for 10 mil for example we need to find a striker capable of challenging for the Premier league and champions league for 10mil or less?

If you total up eds estimates
Mane 20mil
Bobby 10 mil
Ox 10 mil
Thiago 20 mil
Neco 15 mil
Philips 15 mil
Divock 15 mil

So we need to replace 7 players with 105 mil, 15 mil per player. I know we've found some gems in the past but we can't do that every time.

The game was a disappointment and its hard to swallow being 6 behind man city when almost every other team in the league roll over as soon as they see that fixture.

BUT. we don't roll over against city, we may not beat them but at least we will make it competitive. Take 3 points against them and half the gap, maybe Chelsea beat them which closes the gap for us.

All of a sudden we are level pegging, city have let a 6 point lead slip, that's a big confidence builder for us and a big seed of doubt for city.

OK it's all ifs and buts, but very possible.

666 we deserved to win mate, you get the ball over the line fairly and you deserve the win. Wolves were good, not good enough though.
