I see that Ed was right again in the Georgian keeper move

Clubs cannot sign a player and immediately loan them out to another PL club- taking Bournemouth loan out of the equation

Reckon that could becc by a deal-breaker Ed?

Paisley79

{Ed002's Note - No.}

1.) 21 Aug 2024 10:12:23
Paisley I don’t believe that was the proposal, I think it was we agreed to buy him next summer for the agreed fee and Valencia agreed to loan him to Bournemouth, hence why it was complex.
Far less hassle to buy him and let him stay at Valencia.

2.) 21 Aug 2024 10:58:37
I thought I read he’s going to go back to Valencia on loan instead.

See we’ve been linked with Rabiot again! I’ve kept extremely cool throughout this window, and remain cool and patient to see what the club may or may not do.

But if we sign Rabiot I will slightly lose it. I just want Liverpool to publicly confirm they would never be so stupid so I can ignore all these clickbait Rabiot posts on X.

3.) 21 Aug 2024 13:32:13
I’m not sure a Premier League club is that bothered by what ITK’s say on Twitter.

No one should be.

4.) 21 Aug 2024 16:21:34
DN what would you do if we signed Rabiot and he turned out to be good?

5.) 21 Aug 2024 16:32:52
Here's a suggestion - ignore all the clickbait Rabiot posts anyway if they vex you.

6.) 21 Aug 2024 23:47:06
I’d hope one phone call with Rabiot’s harridan mother would put Hughes off in any case. And to think they said dragons were mythical eh?

7.) 22 Aug 2024 09:38:38
Have you met her @Victor or are you basing your in-depth knowledge of his mother on social media ?

I’ve contacted the club about the urgent need for beefing up the process for vetting the loved ones of future signings. I’ll let you know ehat the club says when they get back to me.

Meltdown incoming Ed's.

Xavi leaving Barcelona at the end of the season.,

Paisley79

1.) 27 Jan 2024 23:07:46
I imagine Jurgen would enjoy working in a different climate for his next job, but just don't see him going to a club with a backdrop of complex politics and renound player power.

I believe that he will take a year out, with the German national job being the most likely, since it would allow more time to live, however, my outside bet as far as club football goes would be Athletico, with Napoli a distant second.

Whatever you do Jurgen, bless you and your family, we wish you the very best.

2.) 28 Jan 2024 00:45:33
Who is having this supposed meltdown and why?

3.) 28 Jan 2024 09:39:17
I’m still in full on meltdown. No one’s bigger than lfc but Klopp is damn close. A leader of people and icon for the club, City and all LFC supporters worldwide. Devastating news and a real worry we go same way as when Dalglish left. Klopp gets every ounce out of his players, extra 10% which is only reason we have won a lot of those games this year. If that goes we are a top 6 team at best. They should have given Klopp a sabbatical year to recharge.

Given Linders the chance to step up and prove himself. Klopp has said in his interview Linders is a key man in all of this. For those of us who remember what Souness did and the decades it took to recover and only after a one-off legend like Klopp came in did we get back to where we were, it is definitely full on meltdown for me.

4.) 28 Jan 2024 13:24:34
Seems unlikely that Ljinders is in serious consideration for the job given his departure has been announced too.

5.) 28 Jan 2024 21:38:25
I find it odd seeing a few posts calling for lijnders to be given the role when last season everyone was bemoaning his influence on Klopp towards tactics played and kicking off about the release of his book. Back then any tactical change was attributed to his influence and it seemed many slammed him for taking us away from Klopps ethos of "heavy metal" football. I personally would look for a clean break. He'd be under immense pressure to maintain the status quo and any failures would bring immense pressure immediately. I'm not sure he has the experience or gravitas to manage that yet.

6.) 28 Jan 2024 22:07:02
Time for us all to put our big boys pants on. Jurgen has been absolutely brilliant and has made a grown-ups decision. We have to be grown-ups too, enjoy the rest of the season and then get excited about what’s next.

Loving that my 1:1 prediction with Citeh getting help from the officials was so wrong.
That could, and should, have been a cricket score.

Paisley79

1.) 01 Dec 2024 18:27:10
Just seen a picture of City’s last 7 results and feel
Like I’ve fallen asleep and woken up in the 90’s before they bought football.

01 Dec 2024 09:52:47
I'm going for a draw today at best

Controversial maybe but.

.9 points clear of 2nd and 11 clear of Citeh is too much for the "powers that be".

Paisley79

1.) 01 Dec 2024 10:03:07
Wow ???.

2.) 01 Dec 2024 10:12:35
It’s not good enough. I know we have a lead. But the same thing came up last season when City came to Anfield and everyone said a draw was a decent result.
Then the wheels fell off and we blew the season.
If we want to win the premier league, we have to snatch the trophy away from these lot.

3.) 01 Dec 2024 10:16:46
I've woken up in a joyous mood today. I am going to say your prediction is going to be incorrect.
I am going for one more than the 7-0 against utd.
Gomez for a brace just to top it off.
The only problem is Pep will get sacked Southgate takes over after leaving his position at Current job and nips us to the title ?.

4.) 01 Dec 2024 10:25:03
I'm going with 3-1 to us.

5.) 01 Dec 2024 11:19:25
Paranoia is real, why didn't the ''powers that be'' do anything to help city in their last 4-5 games? or Arsenal who have had no favorable treatment this season with all the red cards they have been shown.

6.) 01 Dec 2024 11:43:26
Walter, I'm getting concerned now. :)

7.) 01 Dec 2024 11:48:31
I don’t by any means think this game will be easy but we’re at home with a crowd that showed against real that they are well up for blowing the roof off for 90 minutes, city are forced into playing gundogan at the 6 or maybe even akanji, Kyle walker is going to have a nightmare with luis Diaz and mo has the woefully out of form gvardiol on the other side, their midfield looks as slow as ours the year fab’s legs have gone, plus the likes of foden and silva simply aren’t physical or aggressive enough to play a game facing their own goal, ederson has been absolutely terrible making decisions under pressure and haaland has looked really out of form, all this fear surrounding city and saying we can only get a draw at best doesn’t make sense to me.

8.) 01 Dec 2024 12:31:43
I'm going with Salah. 3-1 I predict. Have a feeling Nunez will score if he plays.

9.) 01 Dec 2024 14:51:35
I think with Konate being out and Dias coming back in for them, we could see a swing in City’s favour today! I’d be ok with a draw. City won’t continue to lose!

10.) 01 Dec 2024 15:13:19
Dias wasn’t even good before he was out, I think the game will hinge on the midfield, that’s also where we won the game against Madrid, with Curtis and grav. running rings around a real midfield that couldn’t keep up and Mac pulling the strings further up the field, bring it on, I think if everybody does their job the way they have been for the most part this season we will have a lot of joy.

11.) 01 Dec 2024 15:13:48
They'll continue to lose today Cardiff.

12.) 01 Dec 2024 15:33:51
Hope you’re right Salah!

13.) 01 Dec 2024 18:07:03
Can I just say I think we have a very good squad. I thought I’d say it because - no matter what happens next - we have played 20 games in one of the toughest leagues in the world and, probably the toughest continental cup in the world and we’ve won 18 and drawn one of the games we have played.

Just thought I’d say it as it compares favourably with most, if not all elite clubs in world football this season.

Friedkin 'ell Ed025

You've got a buyer!

Paisley79

{Ed025's Note - it looks that way Paisley mate, how it turns out is a different matter though so im just crossing my fingers at the moment..

1.) 26 Sep 2024 19:46:07
Hello Ed025,Would be very surprised if EFC went down, as there are worse sides than EFC, Crystal Palace are horrendous, ye should not have got beat at Villa after being two up and also Bournemouth 2-0 up, with ye Best player to come back now who hopefully may be ours next season, if he played in the above two games ye would not of got beat!

It's one of them where you're playing well and getting nothing, and it's not if the teams above you are pulling away from you. We have a once in a month meeting of Ford work colleagues in MO'S and circa 18 attend, 12 of them are mad blues from Walton, Kirby. I keep telling them to live in hope not fear as there is always someone worse off than you.

LFC will keep Wolves bottom on Saturday for you, but of course do yourself favours firstly" as that is always better than relying on someone else.

And when I see you in the "White Horse" in Woolton, two bottles of champagne, one for EFC playing their first premier game at Bramley Moor next season, and one for LFC winning the Premier.

{Ed025's Note - i will look forward to that 007, we just need to get some points on the board mate and hopefully we can start moving forward..cheers..

2.) 26 Sep 2024 21:07:56
Hope it works out for them.
I hope they continue to bring through young talent and builds from their academy. Don’t go chasing a quick fix.

3.) 27 Sep 2024 01:47:39
Hope they get relegated.

4.) 27 Sep 2024 03:52:37
007 - Do you honestly look at Crystal Palace’s team and think it is worse than Everton’s? Everton may well win the match between them this weekend, but it won’t change anything - Palace have a much better set of players than Everton. As for Glasner, his honeymoon period has well and truly finished.
Though I believe Everton were unfortunate not to get anything against Bournemouth or Aston Villa, the point stands that they have 1 point from 5 games and are conceding 3 goals a game. It’s atrocious. They have a good, useful striker in Calvert-Lewin and an excellent player in Branthwaite, but the rest of the squad is relegation standard.

5.) 27 Sep 2024 03:42:22
Good luck with everything Ed0025!

{Ed025's Note - thanks KC..we may just need some mate..

6.) 27 Sep 2024 07:24:15
I don’t think Crystal Palace are horrendous tbh, they’ve played West Ham, Chelsea, Leicester, Man U and only lost once drawn 3. The loss against a poor West Ham side ain’t great and they should of beat a bad Leicester side but draws against Chelsea and united are good results wouldn’t be suprised if palace beat Everton.

7.) 27 Sep 2024 08:14:33
Same group own Roma, it ain't going well .

8.) 27 Sep 2024 08:48:11
The opposite of that Kloppers is you can also apply your thinking to LFCs opening fixtures? where Man Utd are the only team we have faced in the Premier to finish in the top half last season, and the added advantage of three homes games compared to two away games, three tomorrow.

However, the "Epidemic" that JK left during his last season is again regularly occurring under Arne's early tenure which is conceding the first and only goal in one case to the opposition, indeed "Boiled Ham" scored the first goal against the B team during the week, but like the A team demonstrated that they like Arne can win from coming behind.

The conceding of the first goal has to be addressed sooner than later! as better teams will not let you back sometimes although Milan did, as in some cases only one goal is required to win a game of football, and you increase ye chances of that by scoring the first goal rather than the opposition.

The early signs are promising from Arne as I like his style of good attacking football, breaking the habit of not conceding the first goal will only improve our chances of success, starting tomorrow!

9.) 27 Sep 2024 09:08:27
Palace have a good squad. There was a couple of big players lost in the summer in Olise and Anderson. It will take a while for their replacements to settle and I think Glasner needs to stop his experiment playing Kamada as a deeper midfielder. Lerma and Wharton has the makings of a very solid midfield duo and Kamada is quite clearly an attacking player so playing him there instead of Lerma is leaving Wharton far too much work to do. They also started the season without Mateta due to the Olympics. Once they get Chalobah on the pitch to replace Anderson, Mateta back fully firing, Kamada and Lerma in their proper positions etc. they will be fine.

Ipswich, Southampton and Leicester look like they'll have a job not to go straight back down however. They look weak at the back and light in terms of goal scorers. I don't think Everton and Wolves will be much higher than them though as neither side seems capable of holding onto a lead right now. Wolves losing Kilman and Neto has absolutely ravaged the side. Everton without Branthwaite just look pitiful. The question is; are 3 of those 4 other teams worse than Everton? That'll be what decides whether they stay up because Everton don't look good enough to stay up by playing well. A Premier League without Everton doesn't feel right but on the flip side I also want Ipswich, Leicester and Wolves to stay up because there just aren't enough midlands teams in the League (Villa the only other representative) and I don't want the league to just become North vs South as a native 'midlander' myself!

10.) 27 Sep 2024 12:29:51
If you’re in a foot race with the 3 promoted teams plus wolves, palace and possibly West Ham who are struggling to score then I fancy your chances. Hoping you stay up!

{Ed025's Note - cheers mate ..

11.) 27 Sep 2024 12:55:55
Possibly the best thing to happen at Everton in the past decade. Look forward to playing a good Everton team in a great new stadium down by the river. Great for the city, great for footy fans and great for the Reds to battle a proper Everton team ?.

{Ed025's Note - I agree WDW. Let’s hope we stay up and have a great rivalry again but without all the nastiness mate. I would love that..

12.) 27 Sep 2024 13:08:56
Why berate Everton? I don't know all your ages so maybe you were not around at the time? but the first true friends and consoling "mates" same families sometimes, during the worst Tragedy in Football History were Supporters of Everton Football Club, indeed they had an instantaneous whip round of over half a million pounds, that deserves my "Respect" and "Thanks" and always will.

I think you will find that Love and not Hate will be of more Benefit in every aspect of Life. God says "Love thy Neighbours" which I always have, indeed as I have remarked above when I meet my old work colleagues monthly 12 out of the 18 are absolute EFC fanatics, there are good and bad eggs in "EVERY" football club and always will be.

Best of Luck Ed025 for the future and here's hoping!

{Ed025's Note - well said 007. It was great when we were all as one in the 80,s mate and travelled there and back as friends mate. Here’s hoping for a new start as one city as we should be..

13.) 27 Sep 2024 17:02:06
It will never be like the 80’s friendly derbies ever again . Supporting each other is not a red or blue thing it’s a “Scouse” thing. That said the blues best nights celebrating in recent times have been us losing the champions league finals or getting pipped to premier leagues. If they would of gone down last year they would of gone down happy singing “ you lost the league at woodison park” so if they go down anytime soon I’ll party like it’s 1999.

{Ed025's Note - the league was gone well before we kicked your arses John, it was our cup final really so you cant begrudge us a bit of respite mate, i do agree that we wont see times like the 80,s again mate but thats a social problem more than a football problem for me..

14.) 27 Sep 2024 18:33:03
I think dyche is the manager to steady the ship again this season and keep you up. Being a Liverpool fan wouldn’t be the same without having the derby. I wish the club well and hope new owners are a good fit.

{Ed025's Note - nice one Ecogsi..

15.) 27 Sep 2024 23:39:22
Everton will pick up the results and finish around 12th Is my opinion.

16.) 28 Sep 2024 09:15:19
Seeing a section of Everton fans celebrating online when Pickford took Van Dijk out for a season was a turning point for me.
And the rivalry went sour over simple envy.
The situation was worsened by Liverpool#s resurgence in the last decade resulting in a sp;urge of trophies, while Everton spent like a drunken sailor on shore leave only to find themselves fighting off relegation season after season.
Everton fans have an entrenched mindset, and it's always someone else's fault (usually Liverpool's) .
It really is a crying shame how it's turned out, and I don't see it recovering in the slightest between the two clubs.
I'd feel gutted for 025 who is a cracking chap, but I'd celebrate Everton's relegation like it was a major trophy win for the reds.

18 Aug 2024 15:05:06
Not Liverpool related but.

Don't expect many- if even any- goals from corners this season

Not if the Eze disallowed free-kick v Brentford is anything to go by.

Paisley79

1.) 18 Aug 2024 15:59:46
Unless you are Arsenal.

2.) 18 Aug 2024 16:43:25
The thing is, we have seen that be called 100 times and also not called 100 times. The only reason people are whining this time round is because eze put it in the back of the net. Incredibly unfortunate but we have seen a lot worse decisions from VAR.

{Ed001's Note - VAR didn't have a decision to make, the ref had blown the whistle before it went in, so the ball was dead.}

3.) 18 Aug 2024 18:11:13
And nailed on that in the next couple of weeks the “penalty” shout against Kovacic a minute ago will be given as a pen.

4.) 18 Aug 2024 18:29:41
Sorry ed001, didn't word it very well meant in the VAR era. Some are blowing it up like it's a huge error but I don't see it that way.

5.) 18 Aug 2024 20:15:49
WYred- for me it shows a lack of game understanding by the ref
They don’t know what players are and aren’t trying to do and therefore will continue to make some baffling decisions.

6.) 18 Aug 2024 20:18:32
Not related at all but thank goodness none of our players who don't play minutes releases statements demanding clarity over their future.

7.) 19 Aug 2024 00:18:10
RedScarface, that particular player never has had much in the way of self awareness .

8.) 19 Aug 2024 09:02:04
Don’t know what happened as I didn’t watch the game however If the whistle has been blown then, whatever happened next is null and void. Where is the problem?

9.) 19 Aug 2024 21:14:59
OliRed, the ref blew the whistle for a foul like 0.5 seconds before the ball hit the back of the net. Could have easily waited an extra second or two to contemplate the decision and get feedback from VAR. Also the foul was very very dubious imo, would say 80% likely not to be given most of the time. Ref apparently told Eze after the match that he’d made a mistake.

14 Aug 2024 11:34:11
Hi Ed's

With Zubimendi out of the picture- do you know which other Midfielders we are targeting?

(This one's for you @Robbo's_back_pocket)

Waiting for it.

Paisley79

{Ed002's Note - Joyce has spoken.}

1.) 14 Aug 2024 12:13:05
I'd like us to move on Endo and replace him with Kone or Rabiot. Endo really struggles with this style of play. I'm not that bothered if we we just keep hold of Morton though and give him a chance. Didn't hurt us when we gave Bradley or Quansah a chance after they impressed on loan at a lower level. Morton is really aggressive in the tackle as well.

2.) 14 Aug 2024 12:31:43
Why are posters over and over again asking ed the same questions. He must have written 500 times on these pages who the targets were and who the targets are now.

RTFP.

3.) 14 Aug 2024 12:09:06
No bite Ed002- well done

I was lining up the RTP.

4.) 14 Aug 2024 14:13:47
Because the search engine on this site is absolutely useless and has been for the last 15 years!

Don’t understand why the eds don’t just copy and paste.

{Ed002's Note - I don't have the time. The search engine works fine.}

5.) 14 Aug 2024 14:31:42
Why not Ederson anymore, when first linked with him most were lauding him as being a great addition. Looked excellent for Atalanta, surely a viable upgrade on Endo. Younger and cheaper salary than Rabiot.

{Ed002's Note - Because they don't want to lose both Ederson and Teun Koopmeiners.}

Any player- including Trent- does not have to sign a new contract

I think someone else has already mentioned that we could have been talking to his representatives for a long time and not progressing to the point of a new contract for various reasons

The owners are business people - there’s no way (IMI) they’d be happy with an “asset” going with no financial reward

So I believe that the club has talked and has been getting noises from the Trent camp that has strung the process along.

Agree Digger

We signed Aldridge when Rush went to Juve and then brought in Barnes and Beardsley later, and Houghto

Laudrup was linked prior to the WC ‘86

And of course, we weren’t competing in Europe at that stage either.

I cannot blame the officials fully for some of the things we’ve seen this season and last

Whoever thought to introduce this “higher bar” in the penalty area is just barking - how can an offence outside the area be treated differently to one in the area if both offences are exactly the same?

Some of the decisions taking by the Governing Bodies are just barmy - unless of course they aren’t really barmy but extremely well thought out as a way of (I’ll put it like this) “generating excitement”.
