Man I hate the media in this country.
VVD says he doesn’t know what will happen after Klopp as it depends what the club does and which direction they want to go and they report it as he wants to leave!
To the point where Klopp has to tell people to calm down and VVD has to confirm he’s committed to the club.
I don’t know what’s worse, the fact that the media twist people’s words to form false headlines or the fact that people actually believe them.
{Ed002's Note - I am not sure what you are referring to but his agent has said there have been a couple of general enquiries this week.}
1.) 31 Jan 2024 10:35:33
Only natural some clubs may want to capitalise on the uncertainty - we have done it on the past. Big difference receiving enquiries and courting them. The other side of this may be that the new manager no wants Virgil and they may seek to move him on (although I would hope that was unlikely) .
2.) 31 Jan 2024 13:02:14
Bloke knows he's going to be negotiating a new contract soon. Was never going to say"being here is a dream come true and i want to stay here forever and ever and ever"now was he? a nothing story.
3.) 31 Jan 2024 13:37:28
Agree with Jude Nkunku. He really doesn't have any idea what's going to happen. It's a long time until his contract is up. Anything can happen.
No issue with the comments.
4.) 31 Jan 2024 15:18:14
Wouldnt worry about clubs approaching the agent- Id be shocked if there wasnt. Even coming up to 33, he would be an immense addition to any side still. All about how he feels and he seems committed.
5.) 31 Jan 2024 17:42:34
I personally think at least one big name leaves in the summer. This doesn't include the players that will not have their contract renewed.
6.) 31 Jan 2024 18:46:36
If the Edwards approach is true. That says to me we’re panicking a little about life after Klopp.
It’s only natural our best players will be wary of all this and want reassurances we plan to stay successful.
7.) 31 Jan 2024 18:52:07
Too many people worrying about the future ! Embrace the rest of the season, klopp has earned our support not our questions.
8.) 31 Jan 2024 21:53:27
lol, does anyone believe that we don't plan to be successful? lol what kind of statement is that?
We're worrying a bit too much about things we can't control and then making factual statements about things that we don't really know about lol.
9.) 01 Feb 2024 09:35:27
Ally McCoist summed it up perfectly last night when his co-commentator tried to make a big deal out of VVDs comments. He hit back immediately saying that Virg is just saying that a new manager will have his own players and he doesn't know what the new manager and the club will want to do. At no point had he said that he wanted to leave and it was just the media twisting his words.
Obviously I'm paraphrasing but it was nice to hear an 'expert' finally talking some sense rather than trying to make drama.

I’ve been away this week so didn’t see the game until tonight and I have to say reading the match reports and the fallout on here I thought Brighton had battered us and we’d scraped a win.
Then I watched it and it was nothing of the sort.
We were sloppy in the first half but they had 3 decent chances mainly from us just gifting them the ball in dangerous areas. They’re a good team with good players so they will take advantage of you offer them the impetus but we could also have scored a couple ourselves in the first half.
There were too many gaps in midfield in the first half, largely because we weren’t being aggressive enough and weren’t very cohesive in the press so they passed through us too easily.
The second half though, we could’ve had 4 goals in the first 10 minutes! Yes they always carried a threat but they have good players they will always do that.
I definitely wasn’t as bad as some have made out and our response in the second half just showed the ability and desire we have in this team.
1.) 04 Nov 2024 02:09:29
The overreaction is incredible. Yes we were poor first half and Brighton outplayed us but a fair halftime score would have been 2-1. Nunez was unlucky not to score and Kelleher made a good save from Mitoma. Second half we completed dominanted for 30 minutes and could have scored 3-4. We deserved to win the game in the end.
2.) 04 Nov 2024 03:32:28
Agree we were bad - was a proper battle of a game in the first half. I thought we were off the pace slightly and towards last season would have lost that game. Turned it round and won so got to take the 3 points and move on. Do have a worry that we aren’t controlling games very well and haven’t won many by wide margins, could run out of steam like last season.
3.) 04 Nov 2024 05:02:35
Two moments of sheer individual brilliance won us that game. Brighton were an excellent. Cut us through at will. They don’t have better players, they have a brilliant style of play.
4.) 04 Nov 2024 06:55:16
Hi @Brummyred, or we could heat into steam towards the business end and not fade out like we did last season? The shocking thing about the moaning and towel throw in on Slot is the illogical view that judges his style of play on a set of players he inherited. He has not even brought any player of his choice in yet.
His post match presser was a joy to watch where he stated clearly that the players that starter deserved to be benched for that half. We are top of the table despite not at our best in the new style, imagine when we get a hang of it. For me, I couldn't ask for more after the heart we showed in the second half. We will get better and I hope that will kick in when it matters the most. Been a difficult heal from the fade out of last season and I hope never to experience tht again. O I am a fan of the new system.
5.) 04 Nov 2024 07:49:25
Well technically he signed one. Chiesa. Or did he not?
6.) 04 Nov 2024 07:51:38
Interesting to hear Slot point out the attitudes of the players in the first half over tactics.
7.) 04 Nov 2024 11:47:22
I agree with the OP 100%. When I watched the game after reading the reports and listening to the pundits I expected it to have been completely one sided but although playing poorly in the first half it appeared fairly even in terms of chances - their goal was not a great chance, just an awesome finish. The only good chance they made was the 1-on-1 stop by Kelleher. In the second half our players stepped it up, the crowd responded and there was only ever going to be 1 winner.
It's great to see how solid our shape is this season. Even when playing poorly teams struggle to really create anything against us. It's such a welcome relief from the continuous heart-in-mouth moments of the last couple of seasons.

9.) 04 Nov 2024 21:28:28
It’s strange how every time a team gets anywhere near our goal it’s considered a great chance yet I’d argue that Nunez’s chance was a better chance than the goal they scored and Konate’s free header from a corner which he headed straight into the back of the defender was every bit as good as their one on one.
They had the other one with the volley at the back post but that would’ve been a brilliant goal had it gone in it was barely half a chance.
We allowed them impetus in the game by being sloppy in possession and they put us under some pressure but they were hardly banging on the door.
In the second half we smashed the door down and should’ve had a few more goals. It was a deserved win where we weren’t dominant for the whole 90 minutes. Nothing wrong with that at all.
10.) 04 Nov 2024 22:30:16
Brighton had us chasing shadows for first half on Saturday take you red specs off and be honest beckers .
22 Oct 2024 09:10:44
I said after the Arsenal - City game the PGMOL needs to get a handle on this blocking and grabbing at set pieces because all teams will do is have 9 blockers and 1 attacker like Arsenal do. Just clear the way for your best header of the ball.
If you are purposely moving towards another player in an attempt to stop them getting to the ball and are not going for the ball yourself it’s a foul. Always has been, always will be.
1.) 22 Oct 2024 10:52:07
I still can't get my head around the 2 shoulder to shoulder challenges the ref gave against us on Sunday (1 was Darwin can't remember the other)
2.) 22 Oct 2024 13:23:30
The other was Gravenberch on Neto which was absolutely insane. John Brooks is a dumpster fire of a ref BUT that we already knew.
@BP, I think it is okay for players to stand wherever they want during a setpiece including in an offside position. However, the refs in the PL have decided that it is now ope season regarding the grabbing and blocking people off hence, there is NO order whatsoever.
This is why we now have chaos in these situations whereas in other leagues I watch, you can do the same things BUT they have limits and the ref has the right to intervene hence, players can't just start throwing each other around cos they will get penalised with fouls and penalties actually get awarded. Just my take.
3.) 22 Oct 2024 19:40:16
The reaction to slot and his staff to that Nunez shoulder barge was fabulous.
Known for being a very calm and level headed man and he spends 8 games in the premier league with our crop of refs and he’s going mad.
4.) 22 Oct 2024 20:57:21
Wassa, pretty sure the calm and level-headed fans sitting at the ground or watching the game on TV had the exact same reaction as Slot and his staff and players did. I know I had it.
5.) 22 Oct 2024 22:04:23
I had it too Oli it was beyond belief!
On the set piece debate I totally agree that you can stand wherever you want and you don’t have to get out of the way. However, if you make a move towards another player to purposely block them from getting to the ball when you are not trying to get to the ball yourself it’s a foul.
I gave an extreme example in another thread of a team taking a kick off and just all linking arms and forming a circle around the player with the ball as he runs to the goal. Blocking all of the defenders from getting to the ball all the way to the goal. It’s a silly example but the premise is the same.
If we are now allowed to block and grab players at set pieces to stop them getting to the ball then why can’t we do it elsewhere on the pitch?
It’s like American Football with the wide receiver running to the endzone whilst his team mates just block the opposition from getting to him. In fact Arsenal’s set pieces are very much like American Football plays. They probably have names for each play in training and write them on whiteboards, who is the runner and who are the blockers.
I really can’t understand people who defend these tactics and don’t see anything wrong with it. It goes against the most basic rules of football.
6.) 22 Oct 2024 22:51:52
That referee was possibly the worst I have seen. Yes the worst ref I can remember just got literally every decision wrong. Even our players where looking at him as if he where a parody or a Harry Enfield character.
15 Oct 2024 13:23:02
Does anyone know why Virgil wasn’t in the Dutch squad last night?
Have I missed some news about him somewhere?
1.) 15 Oct 2024 13:29:04
He got sent off in 1st game and was suspended last nite. He actually went back to Liverpool so will get good full week b4 chelsea game.
2.) 15 Oct 2024 13:36:35
He was sent off in previous game and allowed home by the manager.
3.) 15 Oct 2024 13:40:12
He was suspended for getting a red card in the previous game against Hungary.
4.) 15 Oct 2024 15:15:07
Phew thank goodness for that! I knew I must’ve missed something because these pages weren’t blowing up about how we should’ve signed a CB in the summer ?.
5.) 15 Oct 2024 21:57:21
On a separate note but relating to our players in internationals, it’s good to see Conor Bradley captaining Northern Ireland and also to see his young team pasting Bulgaria. Second game as captain of his country. The boy’s going to be a star - hopefully at Liverpool.
I read that Konate was captain for the last couple of minutes of France’s game. Which means we are edging closer to a team of current international captains :
Ali
Bradley
Konate
VVD
Robbo
Dom
Endo
Xxxxx
Xxxxx
Mo
Xxxxx
For a bit of fun, which three international captains should we sign to fill the gaps - assuming I haven’t missed any other international captains that we have.
6.) 15 Oct 2024 22:10:08
You forgot Diaz wdw
So I’d have Diaz
Odegaard
Kane.
7.) 16 Oct 2024 18:54:47
Valverde
Odegaard
Mbqppe.

How do we know Trent hasn’t been offered a contract? It’s a genuine question.
I hardly think either party are going to admit to offering a contract or receiving a contract offer which has been turned down.
That’s going to be looked at 2 different ways by the fans who enjoy criticising everything. They’ll either get on Trent’s back for being greedy etc or they criticise the club for not just giving him what he wants or not selling him earlier.
So if he has been offered a contract but it’s not made public knowledge we wouldn’t know would we?
Or is there another way that people can find out this stuff? Not saying anyone is wrong I’m just asking the question because I don’t know the answer.
1.) 04 Oct 2024 10:18:34
I would guess what has happened, and its only a guess, that when club shouldve been sorting his renewal, summer 22,they where slack on it and took for granted that he be no problem to get signed up.
Then kloop made his decision to quit and trent then didn't want to negoiate as he wanted to see who new mamager is and what ambitions of club are trsnsfer wise. We got slot and im sure trent was thinking whose this, like rest of us. He then wanted to see what slot like before he sign anything, i would imagine he quite impressed so far. The summer transfer window v poor and i would say he disappointed with lack of ambition and that is a minus as regards him signing.
Only me guessing no inside info.
2.) 04 Oct 2024 10:55:04
Trent needs to be on parity with the highest earners, or close. We Know Real can offer that kind of money since there would be no fee. The question is, do FSG value him that much? Some of their dealings at the red cocks suggests not.
3.) 04 Oct 2024 11:04:39
Well we know Salah and Virg haven’t because they came out into the public and stated it. So you’d assume it’s 3/ 3 with Trent.
4.) 04 Oct 2024 11:28:28
Would you take any answer for your question @Beckers. Because honestly you won’t. That’s your problem. You would continue to spin the wheel to get an answer that suit you.
If we go by the editors and their contacts, he hasn’t been offered a contract yet.
5.) 04 Oct 2024 11:35:00
Trent’s interview was extremely cryptic so it’s anyone’s guess.
But that’s the beauty of being a fan we have no idea about contracts, wages, transfers, what the manager ask the players to do etc, but we get to give an opinion on them all.
6.) 04 Oct 2024 11:50:06
I think it's all worrying over nothing. If he stays, meh fair enough if he goes we've a player that is better or at least on par with Trent.
For me it would benefit LFC if Trent left just a shame there won't be a transfer fee if he goes at the end of the season.
{Ed001's Note - Neggy you are talking utter cack - there is no one better or even close to being on a par at the club.}
7.) 04 Oct 2024 11:54:01
I don’t really know but I find the drama intriguing. Like apparently Real have had constant Comms with Trent, which would seem like it’s breaking some kind of rule but also makes the drama interesting lol.
8.) 04 Oct 2024 12:06:05
Vango, Trent is already on parity with highest earners mate. He is the 3rd best paid player at the club after Salah (350) van Dijk (260) and then Trent who is on (250) for a local lad who is living his dream i would say that's already an amazing and a very respectable salary, but ofcourse Madrid could offer him much more. Hopefully we get him signed up.
9.) 04 Oct 2024 12:37:05
Fikes - Not sure where you're getting those numbers from. Most sources I've seen have van Dijk at £220k and Trent at £180k.
10.) 04 Oct 2024 12:38:28
If Real Madrid have spoken directly to Trent then aren’t they breaking the rules? If that is the case, then wouldn’t it be right if the club reported Real Madrid?
11.) 04 Oct 2024 13:37:23
If Trent wants to stay he'll stay. If he wants to go he'll go. This is the single most mind numbing topic of debate this site has ever seen. How are you not all bored?
I might write a children's book called "Richard Hughes and the 3 contract Stand Offs". It could have a really good teachable lesson about the importance of patience and the dangers of being gullible.
{Ed025's Note - to be fair MK it is a topic for concern mate so why not discuss the implications of it?, its ok saying que sera sera but you could lose 3 of your best players for nothing come the end of the season and the money needed to replace them would be astronomical...so its bound to be a topic for deliberation..
12.) 04 Oct 2024 14:20:49
I wouldn't be surprised if Trent is waiting until Jan to see what obscene offer Madrid sends, before deciding whether to stay or go.
13.) 04 Oct 2024 14:21:20
"How do we know Trent hasn’t been offered a contract? ".
As fans well, we don't.
14.) 04 Oct 2024 14:24:19
Sorry something red, you're absolutely right. My bad.
15.) 04 Oct 2024 14:43:11
Ed025, that's fine but we're all (posters and editors) discussing from a position of complete ignorance so I understand why it would be brought up occasionally because it's a rumours site, but it's just been every day for months on end. People can talk about whatever they want to of course, but equally I can say I'm bored of the debate if I want to!
I'd love all 3 of the players to extend their contracts but you know what, I'm not fussed if they all go for nothing. City were supposedly going to drop off massively when they lost Fernandinho, David Silva, Aguero and Kompany for diddly squat. All the experts said they'd struggle to replace them and that Daivd Silva was the one who made them tick. Well since that happened they've won every single League Title and their first Champions League. So it just goes to show that you can lose 3 or 4 world class players for nothing and style it out.
We've hardly spent a penny in the summer just gone as well (whilst reducing the wage bill significantly) so we'll be in a very secure position in terms of Profit and Sustainability, which will allow us to replace these 3 players in one go if we have to. Many posters and editors on here think Bradley is so good we should be putting Trent in midfield to accommodate him anyway.
So you'll have to excuse me for not thinking it's the end of the world mate! I'm just enjoying the football and what will be, will be. I like the line I read on here years ago that "footballers are just transient employees". I think we should all try to remember that when we're livid about people possibly signing or not signing. 8 wins from 9 last time I checked so all smiles ?.
16.) 04 Oct 2024 14:58:23
Thats a decent amount of input for someone who is bored of the topic, MK.
None of us know what's going on with the contracts behind closed doors but id put money on Trent getting 3 years, VVD 2 years and Salah a friendly pat on the back.
17.) 04 Oct 2024 15:14:55
I don't understand why posters bother to get involved in a debate if it's so boring and doesn't interest them. Just scroll on.
18.) 04 Oct 2024 15:26:10
You can’t be that bored of it MK.
You’ve just contributed 2 massive posts to the conversation mate ?.
19.) 04 Oct 2024 15:28:47
100%, Ed025. I can’t, for the life of me, understand the que sera sera attitude towards this situation. “If he goes, he goes” - great, well we can all look forward to being a worse, less competitive team next season but hey, at least we support the club. It’s crazy. If this doesn’t get sorted, £200m of player, all three among the best in their position, will walk away for nothing.
{Ed025's Note - i think your spot on Lowe, a lot seem to be so matter of fact about it mate and i cant comprehend that, i think replacing them 3 like for like will cost more than £200m though in todays climate..
20.) 04 Oct 2024 16:36:55
You're absolutely spot on ed025, we got lucky with Salah's fee. At his peak he was a 150 million € player, Van Dijk a 100 million € defender. good luck replacing those 2 legends in particular. People will feel it when those 2 leave, MK says Man City were supposed to drop off when they lost Kompany, but they spent 100 million on Gvardiol and Ruben Dias cost a pretty penny too, they did lose David Silva but Phil Foden have since filled that void and scores much more goals than David Silva, they did spend 100 million on Grealish to replace Silva though too. they replaced Fernandinho with a player twice as good in Rordi, so yeah we are not man city who can buy 100 million players and give them 300k a week before they prove they've earned it. So i think the comparison with them is mute, they can just buy at whatever cost, if it works great, if not just repeat the process until something sticks.
Conor Bradley is a very promising talent but he is not Trent, and makes mistakes defensively and have scored a couple of own goals too, its not like he is Cafu re-incarnated. Great talent, but Trent is the best attacking FB in the world full stop. Most of the people who would play Bradley ahead of Trent are the likes of Negativewalter and other ''funny'' posters who you can't take seriously.
{Ed025's Note - you are not city though Fisk and dont have the same resources they have mate, they can afford to lose £squillions but i dont think Liverpool can..
21.) 04 Oct 2024 15:24:43
Edd001 trent aside, bradley has it all to become a top player. He needs the games to improve and better himself but we do have a very beryl good young player in bradley.
{Ed001's Note - Bradley has it all too, but he is nowhere near Trent just yet. Totally different type of full back.}
22.) 04 Oct 2024 17:35:51
ED25 Spot on . we can't afford to lose millions of £££s, we should have had these contracts well sorted . one way or another . I find it amazing that people on here say yea if he goes then he goes . or even worse is we can't force a player to leave etc . but Naploli have just done a good thing IMHO with Victor Osimhen not signing an extension, told him his wasn't going to play so he ended up in the Turkish league .
{Ed025's Note - yeah Stromgodset. But that horse has bolted now mate..
23.) 04 Oct 2024 20:01:41
I don’t think we need to “replace them” necessarily.
Van Dijk is the exception. History shows if you want to win the premier league you need a good spine of the team and Van Dijk is one of the greatest central defenders of the last decade.
Mo cannot be directly replaced so you adapt as a team.
Trent has a lot of quality, don’t get me wrong, but his contribution to the team can be replaced with a player like Connor Bradley.
Van Dijk and Mo are in the last period of their LFC career one way or another. We need a replacement for VVD.
24.) 04 Oct 2024 20:45:21
@MKS, I’d say the two / three year debate about not replacing Gini, or the annual saga about is Mo leaving or will he stay which has seemingly had a longer run than The Mousetrap to ne more mind numbing. I take your point about the TAA contract discussion though.
25.) 04 Oct 2024 22:44:51
Brian that was exactly my question. We as fans have no idea whether contracts have been offered, what’s in the contracts or if they’ve been rejected. We have no idea what’s going on behind closed doors.
The Eds have contacts sure but even they don’t know exactly what’s going on with players contracts either. It’s all conjecture unless there is somewhere where you can get this information or if one of the Eds has a reliable contact who has categorically told them that no contracts have been offered.
It’s frustrating I know as from the outside looking in it looks like a total cock up but we don’t know enough to really make that assumption do we?
So again my question was does anyone know for sure what has or hasn’t been offered or rejected? Until we do I don’t see the point in getting all up tight about it.
26.) 04 Oct 2024 18:46:35
Edd001 ino that's why I said trent aside, I wasn't comparing them but if we have to move forward without trent, fans shouldn't be disheartened as bradley could be our robertson at his best and even a level better. Bradley looks like he'll potentially be a goalscoring fullback too. He scores some cracking goals for northern Ireland.
27.) 05 Oct 2024 01:48:29
Information overload, my word. Watch next year when we lose them three (if we do) . I'd like to see peoples opinions then.
28.) 05 Oct 2024 08:25:16
@BP, a more interesting question might be …. Has Trent’s agent been offered a new contract and is it possible that the agent might be playing a game of financial chicken with Liverpool? It isn’t hard to imagine the agent holding out for more for his client (and his own percentage) the nearer we get to January?
29.) 06 Oct 2024 06:50:22
What other club competing for league and European trophies allows arguably their 3 best players’ contracts to run down with potential of losing them all o a free? The posters saying ‘oh well, whatever, it’s fine’ are living in cloud cuckoo land. Trying to replace any of these players on there level is a nightmare, and extremely expensive. I mean you are looking at, for a world class CB, world class RW, world class RB a minimum of 200mil and, even then, I’m still not sure you’ll get the same quality or attributes they have. If just one left then ok, not ideal but not the end of the world, but all 3? Disastrous, not to mention negligent, and the team will ultimately pay the price. Add to that we clearly need a new LB and possible midfield addition - where is the money coming from? Honestly this could be a big step down for the club from competing leagues to competing just to get into the champions league, or even lower competitions. The la-de-da attitude of the fans is reflected by the club, and it’s not a good thing.
{Ed025's Note - negligent is the correct word Seano, very poor by whoever let that happen mate..
09 May 2024 07:39:01
{Ed's Note - Beckers pecker has posted a new article entitled, Respect Your Team's Football Players
1.) 09 May 2024 12:38:05
Agree wholeheartedly with your post Beckers with the exception that Darwin's finishing issues can be solely put on pressure caused by some clowns comments. I definitely itely agree with the sentiment, that the pressure of the media and fanbases putting every missed chance by him under the microscope has an affect from a mental perspective. I also think his lack of composure is something he needs to work on personally.
2.) 10 May 2024 10:03:41
Don’t forget he was signed at the same time City signed Haaland so was instantly being compared to him and put under the media microscope.
Then he gets sent off for a ridiculous headbutt in his second game so the pressure was ramped up even further and it took him ages to settle after that.
This season he’s shown at times his composure is not an issue with some lovely finishing in the middle of the season but he has caught the bug from the rest of the squad towards the end of the campaign. Then the media, rival fans and even his own fans jump on every miss like he’s the only one missing chances.
Carragher doesn’t help either. The guy is an absolute buffoon but unfortunately his opinions, however wrong are seen and taken on by so many fans who can’t actually think for themselves.

Fisk, what MK said is absolutely spot on. There are too many people passing off their opinion as fact and it’s rather irritating.
I really don’t see how you can put all of the blame on the club and be so sure in your opinion when you have absolutely no idea what has gone on behind the scenes. You’re simply speculating like the rest of us are.
For all we know the club might have tried to open talks 2 years ago but Trent wasn’t interested as he wanted to keep his options open. We really have no idea.
So for you make up some cock and bull story about how FSG just don’t want to pay more wages and they thought he’s a local lad so would just sign is quite frankly laughable. You’re annoyed and are just throwing baseless accusations around as if they were true. It’s exactly what MK’s initial post was about and you proved him absolutely right.

You know it’s coming MK ?.

Why does there always have to be someone to blame Mark? There’s obviously a reason why it’s got to where it’s got but we don’t know enough about it to start pointing fingers.
It is what it is just let it play out and all will be fine, whichever way it goes.

Nunez is a player I have championed from the start. Anyone who watched him at Benfica will know he definitely can finish and when on form he is unplayable.
Granted we haven’t seen enough of his best form but he came into a team that had played a false 9 for 7 years and didn’t know how to use him. We had Salah and Diaz cutting in and invading his space because that’s what they’ve always done with Bobby dropping deep to leave the space for them.
That and his sending off against Palace gave him a bit of a confidence crisis which it took him a while to recover from.
Now there is so much pressure on the guy because every time he is offside or misses a chance the world seems to want to jump on him. It became Haaland vs Nunez from the start and the media have picked Haaland who seems to be beyond criticism whereas Nunez is forensically criticised for everything he does. By his own fans a lot of the time.
If we allow him to play his game and just stop tearing the kid down he could be a very special player.
If he leaves I think we will end up regretting it as he bangs in the goals for someone else.

Id just like the punishment to be in keeping with punishments they have handed out to other teams.
If they are found to have breached 10 more serious rules than Everton over 7 seasons they should have 10 times the amount of points deducted each season for the next 7 seasons.
I know it’s not that simple but for clarity to the paying fans and fairness to the other clubs I wish it was.

That’s very true Faith and something I was trying to drum in to the dullards (love that word now I can’t stop using it) during the summer.
Signing players is not the only way to improve a team. We challenged on 4 fronts for most of last season with a very new team. This season you would expect that they would only get better as they get to know each other better and gain experience as a team.
Slot has been a bonus as his tactical and positional tweaks seem to have been spot on. That added to the natural progression of the team will hopefully see us challenging for honours at the end of the season.
I have noticed Slot starting to relax a bit more in his interviews these days like he’s growing into the job. He was a little robotic at the start but now you are starting to see more of his personality and he seems like an likeable, impressive, driven guy. The players are certainly playing for him so he’s doing something right.
I like the way he dealt with Trent at the start of the season when he threw a strop after being taken off. He took him off again in the next game and still does in a lot of games. That shows he has the strength of character to stand by his decisions and not be bullied by player power.
It’s been a great start for him I’m excited to see how he and his team develop.

Hadn’t Chelsea won their previous 6 games before being beaten at anfield? Hadn’t Brighton just beaten Spurs 3-2 after being 2-0 down before we beat them twice? Hadn’t Leverkusen, by their own admission had their best game of the season against Stuttgart on Friday?
Once again Leek not thinking before he types.
I’m happy to just carry on winning and have all the dullards finding excuses as to why the opposition are the reason.

Agree with pretty much all of that review Ed. In fact I posted something on Sunday saying the same thing after seeing the game for the first time. I thought we’d got battered and scraped a win from all of the reports but it wasn’t like that at all.
Any chances Brighton had came from our own mistakes and they didn’t have many.
Also agree about Macca, he’s certainly out of sorts at the moment and is usually the main culprit for giving the ball away in dangerous areas. I wasn’t too excited when we signed him as I’d seen nothing from him at Brighton that told me he was good enough but in the middle of last season until he had a spell out injured he looked really good and I was happy to be proved wrong.
Now he seems to have regressed back to the fragile ineffective player he was at Brighton. There is definitely a player there I just feel like he needs to be much more decisive in what he does. He has the ability I just want to see him use it consistently.
I’m not sure about him being in the wrong position I just think he needs to be stronger and more confident in his game.

Am I seeing Harry comparing Caicedo to Kante? They are not even in the same universe.
You can bet that if had signed Caicedo Harry would the first to criticise him too. Laughable.
Caicedo is nowhere near Kante level yet and I don’t think he will ever be.
Gravenberch on the other hand could be the best number 6 in the world in a few years time.

To be fair Rigsby I didn’t see nor have a read the interview so don’t know what the context was.
That being said anyone who thinks he’s got a chance of winning the ballon d’or is a complete dullard. In fact they are as incompetent as Hughes and as dishonest as FSG.
He’s got about as much chance of winning the ballon d’or as Xabi Alonso had which was zero because he was crap. He’s an even worse manager because he turned us down.
Wow this criticising everyone is actually quite refreshing I can now see why Harry, Leek and Mizer do it so often. Nothing like putting other people down to make yourself feel like you’re more than you actually are.
