He’s run his contract down because Madrid want to save on the transfer fee and he’ll get a bumper contract. Make of that what you will. I know exactly how I feel about it.

Agree edd025 but it’s on both Trent and the club that he’s leaving for free. He’s played a big part in going on a free, probably because his agent has told him this is what suits Madrid and in turn will give Trent a huge contract. I have no issues with him wanting to leave, especially if we win the league and he wants a new challen but to run a contract down as a local lad stinks .

I’m torn between the club having no money to spend, the three contracts deciding what will be available and hopeful/ confident there’s a plan in place either way.
What I do know is that we won’t find like for like if we do replace vvd and salah, they’ve been generational talents for us.

Timerpool3 - good read mate. The most important part they’ve played is hiring klopp and now slot. Klopp absolutely turned the club around, and slot has worked absolute magic to place us where we are in the league.
As for the 3 players potentially leaving I’m convinced all 3 have run their contracts down knowing that this season could be the perfect farewell.
As for spending money, this summer will define fsg if these 3 leave. We’ll need considerable money to replace them if they go and to add extra faces to a squad that needs a refresh. Hopefully that cash is there!
Lastly i’m really hoping they find the money and solutions to expand the stadium, the fans deserve it and by not doing it we’re being left behind. FSG, thank you.

Spot on edd001. You sum the game up exactly as most of us do. It’s worrying that slot has no confidence in the squad players, interesting to see what he does with these players during the transfer window. Its even more worrying that he persisted with zonal marking when Newcastle’s aim was to hit burn at every opportunity, vvd would was the obvious fix for Dan burn.
Is that stubbornness, I hope not?!

Agree montstar87. If the 3 stay we’re still looking to bring in a lot of players. We need a centre back to come in and compete, gomez just can’t stay fit. Need a left back, Robertson on the way down and tzimikas won’t cut it. Endo, Elliot and nunez not in slots plans. Jota can’t stay fit, I’d move him on. If Diaz want to go let him go. Should be a busy summer!
