I never get up to Anfield and so have to satisfy myself with being an armchair fan which means it is really difficult to hear a lot of the songs, especially for the players. The only one I actually know the lyrics for is Mo's song (and of course Robbo's and Origi's and I think Thiago's considering it's just their name) .

So, can kind folks post up lyrics of the other players songs so me and the littleun can sing along at home please?

Then, who doesn't have a song and why not? I always find it odd that certain players have a catchy song or a recognisable one that everyone can join in with but then others seem not to have anything. Take Divvy for instance. He seems to be the modern sort of cult hero, if you like, but why does he have such a recognisable and loud tune when, say, VVD or Alisson don't?

{Ed001's Note - van Dijk has one, it was very audible yesterday after he scored.}

VVD song is one of the best, put it in you tube. Bobbies song is top quality as well. They are the 2 best. I don’t know a song for Allison and Trent deserves a better song.

2.) 28 Nov 2021 12:04:35
Div does have a song though, to the tune of ‘Saturday Night’ by Whigfield. Also the christmas one that we save especially for those december derbies, i look forward to singing it on Wednesday!

3.) 28 Nov 2021 12:10:44
Trent as a song, the scouser In our team.

4.) 28 Nov 2021 12:26:08
I’m surprised Thiago’s song isn’t based on the kids song ‘I am a music man’

He is a football man and he comes from far away
And he can play
Thia, thia, thi-ago, thi-ago, thi-ago

5.) 28 Nov 2021 13:47:29
Trent deserves a better song to rival the two best ones. Allison deserves one more than anyone.

I was at the game yesterday in the Kop and there's quite a few that get used.

The players who had their songs sung were:

The notable omission is Fabinho - he was absolutely fantastic but he doesn't have a chant.

Obviously then you have the regular:

Shankly boys,
Poor Scouser Tommy,
Crimbo songs,
Allez Allez and many many more.

They keep them going throughout the whole game in the Kop so you hear everything. Anfield road also keeps chants sustained throughout the game usually.

What’s the Ali song?

8.) 28 Nov 2021 15:45:44
My favourite has to be the song for Bobby, once that gets in your head there's no shifting it!

9.) 28 Nov 2021 16:27:08
The Alisson song is simply his name.

10.) 28 Nov 2021 16:32:11
The Ali chant is literally just his name mate. Hard to explain.

11.) 28 Nov 2021 18:12:09
OP- easiest thing to do is google it mate. All the songs and chants are there on numerous websites, with lyrics. Then on YouTube there’s videos of people singing them.

12.) 28 Nov 2021 18:29:32
That’s terrible Ali doesn’t have a song.

13.) 28 Nov 2021 18:36:11
Bobby’s is the best.

{Ed025's Note - is it called "iv been missing for 2 years" .. :)

14.) 28 Nov 2021 21:49:59
Ed025 I wouldve thought Everton had dibs on that song.

{Ed025's Note - fair play to you phil..

Blimey VVVV you really are in the know. You even took the time to mess around with converting different currencies. Can you tell me what Bellingham wants in Drachma now please?

The amount of crystal ballers on here is astounding. Several seem to think they know what’s happening, why, who feels like what, how much money is available and how that all affects everything. Aside from Eds, no one here is ITK so the rest is just conjecture, the vast majority of which is just negative BS.

Please people, give the negativity a rest.

Great rumour. Would absolutely love Bellingham at Liverpool but could we afford the fee? I reckon he’s bound for City when the time comes.

Jebus! Give me a break. Is everybody meant to be a delicate little flower these days? I doubt spending half a year with some of the worlds best will have done him any harm whatsoever.

Imagine if he’d have been at Sheffield Utd during last season. Now that would have made his confidence dip…

Snowflake central around here.

We can just bill Nike and LeBron James can’t we? Isn’t that how these mega deals work nowadays?

Exactly what I’ve been thinking about Jota for a while. I like him, scores important goals, but his pass is nearly always to someone he thinks will be able to assist him rather than to someone who could score. That’s fine if it means that we actually score at the end of the move, but far too often it slows down an attack and gives the opposition a chance to get in position. He’s good when we have a team camped in their own area. The transition of play is not where he excels.

If he’s in possession of the ball it’s his right to stop. Doesn’t matter if it was to initiate contact or not. It’s still up to the defender to maintain enough control not to plough into him from behind at a million miles an hour. Pathetic excuse.

Are you lumping Neco in with the whole unit and calling him ropey, Irish? Or, are saying all four were ropey individually? Either way I can’t really agree.

I think any ropiness stemmed from Porto’s starting position and that we had a rookie at number 6. Tyler did well, don’t get me wrong, but he’s no Fabinho so it means the defence has different pressures on it. That coupled with the fact that Porto set out to really have a go to try and get something from this game instead of needing to beat athletico Madrid meant they managed to create some chances. Still, what was it, 7 in the whole match? Only a few clear cut. Not bad I’d say with the team that got sent out.

I had Neco as my MOTM along with Thiago. He was aggressive, incisive and showed no panic, was up against a real speedster on his side and caused far more problems going forward than he allowed against him. Great showing IMO. His best yet for us.

Linders said how much influence he has in the dressing room. He called him a second assistant manager in actual fact so I can see them already having had the conversation with him about moving into coaching at the club when the time comes.

I know this is going to get lost in the ether now but whenever I hear the argument about how much players get paid I always say that the money is going to be there anyway. Clubs wouldn’t start asking for less sponsorship or TV revenue so if the players are paid less then who earns all that money? Yes, the already billionaire owners or investment companies. I’d much rather all the money goes to the people we tune in to football for than the suits behind the scenes, because it sure as hell wouldn’t find it’s way down to the lower leagues and smaller clubs.
