Just read something interesting about transfer target Demirbay, turns out he is a Dortmund youth and played under Klopps best mate Wagner

Good to know.

1.) 10 Feb 2018 14:53:44
Is he a serious runner?

30 Aug 2017 16:52:46
Any out goings apart from coutinho
Is origi now linked with spurs.

{Ed001's Note - Origi is available for a loan, his dad just suggested maybe Spurs as a possible team, it is not a link as such, just an idea of the kind of team that he wants to get some gametime with.}

1.) 30 Aug 2017 17:08:24
Haha if he can't get ahead of firminho how's he expect to get ahead of Kane.

2.) 30 Aug 2017 17:21:38
I'd pick him over Harry Kane all day long!

{Ed001's Note - seriously? Kane is an excellent player.}

3.) 30 Aug 2017 17:30:20
Kane is a great player. Origi should aspire to be him as he is very talented and a better dribbler, has more pace and trickery than Kane.

{Ed025's Note - taking drugs is not big and its not clever bingo..

4.) 30 Aug 2017 17:45:31
Kane has been the top prem scorer for the last 2 seasons how many has Origi scored in the last 2 seasons the answer should show how wrong you are.

5.) 30 Aug 2017 18:02:02
Origi has one thing kane will never have and that's speed. Also he is now used to bench warming. Coz thar is what he will be doing there. Kane is excellent player, proud he is English.

6.) 30 Aug 2017 18:57:19
MB how can you even compare goals scored between Kane and Origi? 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Kane played pretty much every game while Origi hardly got a sniff in. Worst comparison I have ever seen to be honest.
Next you'll mention distance covered throughout the season or something daft 😂.

7.) 30 Aug 2017 21:03:48
Spot on, RedPhil. Superred and MB, comparing Origi with Kane is a false argument. He has scored 22 goals for LFC while being a bench warmer which is not bad and is still learning the game. I'm happy he is at LFC. Ed25, you should be happy Origi is off on loan as he does not have to terrorize your pathetic backline like he always does on derby days.

{Ed025's Note - used to you mean bingo, our back line is stronger now..

20 Aug 2017 13:50:50
Have lfc showing interest in Höwedes 🤔.

{Ed002's Note - I think it would be unlikely - he is available because he is no longer forst choice at Schalke.}

1.) 20 Aug 2017 15:53:45
don’t know why people keep bringing Howedes up, he is 29/ 30 and getting slower and slower. He would have no chance in hell with our high line.

11 Aug 2017 20:02:25
What ever happened to It's interest in Mohoud dahoud last season.

{Ed002's Note - He moved to Borussia Dortmund.}

1.) 12 Aug 2017 00:36:30
Anyone know if he had a good season? Was he worth the hype?

2.) 12 Aug 2017 04:41:36
He played the German Super Cup Final, his first game after joining BVB, but was substituted off at half time.

What's happening with masterson and philips this season are both injured if so how unlucky for them with our recent injuries could of been a chance to step up.

13 Feb 2019 10:55:40
Wonder how many people think we will loose to United now? Think they will give us a harder game then they gave psg mind you

Ole has the same hate for Liverpool as Fergie

Let's see how they bounce back against Chelsea now.

1.) 13 Feb 2019 11:34:52
Dont think Ole is capable of hate tbh.

2.) 13 Feb 2019 12:26:34
Didn't Ole support LFC as a boy?

3.) 13 Feb 2019 12:27:13
Osg seems a nice bloke I don’t think hate is in his vocabulary! He will have them up for it no doubt but the wind has been sucked from their sails for now!

4.) 13 Feb 2019 13:53:14
Utd have a great team who finished 2nd last year. They were clearly not playing for Jose. With an attacking manager they are enjoying their football but haven't had many hard games. We can beat them, I have no doubt but it is a hard place for us to go. And the tension will be unbelievable. I only just realised that a draw puts us top of the league

I'm worried about our form though, we've dropped a lot of points for potential champions. And we have lost a lot of games. Not in the prem but in all three cups we have lost 5 I think. That seems a lot. I'm convinced klopp didn't want us in either domestic cup and it could be the genius move that helps us win this effing league.

I wish we would go back to our gung ho footy, just score more than the opposition and not worry about how many we concede, with vvd and Alisson we won't be conceding loads. Our forward line is built for quick counter attacking football. With a relatively short forward line slow build up play has to be at waist height or lower.

I dunno, I'm worried by city's form and I'm worried about the pressure.

I'm elated that gini wjildadum is back though. Most underrated CM in the league. We need trent and lovren back too. I feel Henderson needs to be played more too and lallana should not play unless we have absolutely no choice.

Also sturridge is a better sub than origi imo. I'm blathering, I'm nervous.

5.) 13 Feb 2019 13:56:43
He hated the Hobbits didn’t he? They stole his precious apparently.

6.) 13 Feb 2019 14:14:19
Dear lord just relax and enjoy the season. We have dropped 13 points this season. That is championship winning form. Our biggest problem is city is having another fantastic season.

Just enjoy it and hope we make it.

7.) 13 Feb 2019 15:34:55
Robbie, Trent is back and no way is sturridge a better sub than Origi. He was top class but sadly not anymore.

8.) 13 Feb 2019 16:36:22
You do realise everyone apart from the winner loses in the cups, right? Everyone else has lost more in the league than us and yet you focus on something else entirely irrelevant instead. Some fans will never be happy.

9.) 13 Feb 2019 17:20:11
Who said Sturridge is world class? Two good seasons riding on the back of Suarez doesn’t make you world class.
He certainly had a shot on him but I’ve never understood the gravity myself.

{Ed025's Note - im with you mate..

10.) 13 Feb 2019 23:04:15
Sturridge had the ability to become world class. Injury ruined his career and I reckon he is lazy in his attitude towards football now.

But he is a better player than origi. He played for wolfsburg last season and scored what? 1 goal? 2? Sturridge scored 3xs that many in one month in the Premier league this term. Despite the statements made by DS and klopp, I don't think they get on. Sturridge has scored plenty of worldies in his career, I've seen origi score maybe one.

Don't get me wrong, I like the lad and I think he is a good addition to our squad. But he would not have saved a point at Chelsea, he isn't capable of kicking the ball like DS and Chelsea were parking the bus.

11.) 13 Feb 2019 23:26:46
Run of the Milner I said top class not world class. I agree Suarez made him maybe look better than he was but at one stage he was definitely very good, remember when he was on loan at Bolton (from Chelsea I think) and he was scoring for fun. This year I’ve only seen him 3 times. He had a brilliant/ speculative effort against Chelsea and scored a worldy, then was worse than bad and totally uninterested in the fa cup and the 3rd time I seen was when he came on as a sub v Leicester (I think) where he was brutal and totally uninterested again. So maybe you are right when you say he was riding on the back of Suarez but in the form he once had he would have made a brilliant back up.

12.) 14 Feb 2019 14:21:02
Doohamlet you make some fair counter points. Maybe he had the ability shame he was unable to find the work rate and consostency to be “top” class.

13.) 14 Feb 2019 16:09:21
I think it's work rate in training. I've seen sturridge tracking back many a time.

I think he knows his career is now on the downward trajectory, due to injury. And that has made him lazy in his approach to the game now.

Still a better player than origi, to say other wise is ridiculous.

11 Feb 2019 16:54:10
Why does everyone think we will loose to United they have good form good confidences but they give away a lot of chances if anything we could have them there arse.

1.) 11 Feb 2019 18:51:16
Dezy, I have NLO idea. Sometimes, I wonder how our team got to where it has gotten to with the amount of pessimism and lack of belief some of our fans show? They often say, "We're going to lose to Utd". Really? On what grounds? Cos they are playing well over the past 10 games? The ONLY team very good team they played was Spurs who anihilated them for 90 mins and should have won that game by 3/ 4 clear goals had DDG not played out of his skin. If they give up those many chances to us then they will be drubbed at OT, no question. We have been playing well globally and for the whole season YET they are sure Utd will lose cos they have been doing fine overall for 10 games? Go figure.

2.) 11 Feb 2019 19:24:15
Form and confidence is a lot in football and United are playing with both. It will be an almighty effort to beat them. No doubt about it.

3.) 11 Feb 2019 19:45:47
If any of you reds were to make a team out of Liverpool and utd players without red tinted glasses what would be your first 11.?

{Ed025's Note - there is only negativeredwalter who will give you a balanced answer ace...they all wear very tinted glasses and give no credit to any other team or its players mate...have you not read this page before???.. :)

4.) 11 Feb 2019 20:08:10
Here is as unbiased one ed
Taa lindelof vvd robbo
Gini pogba
Salah rash martial

On form you could argue mane for martial or dalot for taa on potential but ask 100 fans and i reckon you would get 90 different answers.

{Ed025's Note - that is an unbiased one ken... kudos, and very well balanced mate..

5.) 11 Feb 2019 20:14:09
Ok you want unbiased here we go

6.) 11 Feb 2019 20:15:49
Ok eds25 I will give you mine gk de gea
Trent. ? Vid. Robbo
Gini. Pogba. mane

Salah Bobby rashford

? Mark as depends who’s fit Looking at that maybe a bit red tinted.

7.) 11 Feb 2019 20:27:07
Ken good choices though as you say mane on current form.

8.) 11 Feb 2019 20:28:33
It’ll be a close game, first goal will probably be crucial 👍.

9.) 11 Feb 2019 20:28:22
Love to hear Ed’s 1 and 25.

{Ed025's Note - mine would be similar to ken,s ace, but with gomez replacing lindelof and mane coming in for martial mate..

10.) 11 Feb 2019 20:39:54
Because they are playing very good?

{Ed025's Note - they are faith, but liverpool will have too much for them mate..

11.) 11 Feb 2019 20:53:02
Big virg
In a 4 3 3 formation. For me with this team no one beats us.

{Ed025's Note - surely fabinho has to be in there before hendo or matic mate?..

12.) 11 Feb 2019 21:15:05
Sub for me. If he had played most of the season he might have took the place. if I was to re do the list next year I think he would be in.

13.) 11 Feb 2019 21:18:42
Matic! 😂 on current form he’d struggle to get in Salford City’s first 11!

14.) 11 Feb 2019 21:48:42
Coming round to fabinho then Ed? ;)

{Ed025's Note - i am you know KK, i did not think he would suit this league but he is changing my opinion mate..

15.) 11 Feb 2019 22:12:59
Agreed Ed. He's the composed defensive midfielder I feel we've been lacking for years.

16.) 12 Feb 2019 01:47:12
Alisson-A. Arnold-Gomez-VanDijk-Robertson-Fabinho-Wijnaldum-Mane-Firmino-Rashford-Salah.

17.) 12 Feb 2019 01:53:33
Only change to Ken's team. Mane in for Martial. Rest is pretty good.

18.) 12 Feb 2019 01:55:04
People leaving out Firmino and putting Rashford in instead? Err, what?!

19.) 12 Feb 2019 06:20:08
Exactly my thoughts hsf, Rashford is a great player but I'd have Firmino before him any day of the week.

20.) 11 Feb 2019 23:27:38
Very good of you to admit that Ed. Kudos.
How are you feeling about Gomes now? I remember you saying he was one of the best midfielders in the league.
I think he’s a technically decent player but doesn’t affect games enough for me.

{Ed025's Note - i still think hes a very good player bobby, but he is playing in a very poor team and we wont see the best of him until he has better players around him mate..

21.) 12 Feb 2019 09:25:04
You know what Ed, fair play for admitting you've changed your chance. You're all right with me 👍.

{Ed025's Note - im not perfect dan...bloody dam close though.. :)

22.) 12 Feb 2019 10:45:30
What no Pogba? Would have him alongside Fabinho. Really feel Pogba has started to show his impact on the game.

23.) 12 Feb 2019 11:26:38
Keep hanging around with us Ed025, you’ll get there eventually 😉.

{Ed025's Note - i used to be a true blue ron, but being on here has turned me into a purplish colour mate.. :)

24.) 12 Feb 2019 11:33:15
Problem is, sukhyrai, Pogba isn't a very good player if he doesn't get cuddles from his manager. he's a darn good player when he feels things are going his way but i wouldn't want that flake near a first 11 in case he dropped his bottom lip like the first half of this season. And last season.

25.) 12 Feb 2019 11:28:13
Here's mine:

De Gea
Trent Gomez Van Dijk Robertson
Fabinho Pogba
Salah Firmino Mane

26.) 12 Feb 2019 11:40:46
Just so long as you don’t think I’m a ‘purple Ronnie’.

😆 fair play to you Ed 😉.

{Ed025's Note - it depends on how big your muscles are ron.. :)

27.) 12 Feb 2019 18:09:56
Ed025, I saw Everton play for the first time in a long time, recently. I must say I was impressed by Gomes. Poise and vision with the ball, good range with both short and long passes, and plays all over the pitch. In my opinion, better than Jorginho (what was all that fanfare about? ) .

{Ed025's Note - he has gone off the boil a bit recently ArAy but i still think he is quality, he needs better players around him mate if he is to flourish though, my guess is that he will be off at the end of the season im afraid..

03 Feb 2019 19:38:21
Ed001 can I ask your opinion on why klopp doesn't play Keita as the attacking mid is it because he doesn't think it would work as firmino is more of a false 9 and other games were salah starts up top firmino is better suited

Just think Keita is a very good player who of used right could really help the team.

{Ed001's Note - probably because he is not really an attacking mid.}

1.) 03 Feb 2019 19:51:25
14 goals 13 assists last season he could probably do a job there to be fair.

2.) 03 Feb 2019 19:53:42
Never mind they were his last 2 season my bad.

3.) 03 Feb 2019 20:12:33
Ed do you think if Klopp could get a midfield 3 to exactly how he wanted we would see the front three going back to their old positions of Salah right, Bobby centre and Manè left? I just think that's the best positions for each of the boys, not that wer not doing well this year. Just feel Salah for example is better on the right.

{Ed001's Note - if it works why fix it?}

4.) 03 Feb 2019 21:10:35
Naby is struggling big time. We need to start Fab in midfield with Wij. I just wish Ox was fit he'd walk into this team.

{Ed001's Note - I really don't get how you think he is struggling big time. He was dangerous and should have had a pen last time out.}

5.) 03 Feb 2019 21:41:46
I don't get the argument of reverting back to last season because the players were scoring more individually. Yes, Firmino scored more as a striker than as an attacking midfielder. Yes, Mane scored more as a wide forward than as a wide midfielder. And sure, Salah was scoring just as many as a wide forward as he now is as a striker.

However we were also conceding a lot more goals because we were basically playing with 3 strikers whereas we now play with 1 or 2 strikers depending on whether you consider Firmino as an attacking midfielder or a second striker.

It works better. We win more games. Much as it pains me to admit that being more pragmatic works, it does.

6.) 03 Feb 2019 21:58:29
What happened to just letting the front 3 play more fluidly rather than keep to one position? Didn't they used to switch around regularly throughout the match?

7.) 03 Feb 2019 22:44:27
Players like Messi and Ronaldo tell the manager how to set up and who to play. I'm not saying that is going on, but I wouldn't be surprised if salah asked to play cf. For me he is too small and not tough enough to go up against two burly cbs. Maguire smacking him in the face for example. Salah wasn't so keen to recieve the ball in the cf position.

Mane on the left, salah on the right and Bobby at cf. He has taken the bashes all his career and it doesn't phase him, Firmino still gets stuck in. Plus I feel his ticcy tacky football works better when he is in the middle.

8.) 03 Feb 2019 22:51:23
I think Keita will be fine, he’s still a young man settling into a new club with a new culture.
He looks a little off the pace to me which is natural considering he’s come from a much slower league.
I’ve no concerns about him.
Can’t wait for the Ox to get full fitness, he was one of our best players when injury struck.

9.) 03 Feb 2019 23:05:48
nah MK we conceded all the time because migs, karius, matip, lovren are bang average plus we had inexperianced trent and long time injured gomez at right back and moreno playing the first half of season. Salah is better on the wing, firmino is good anywhere. we have quality at the back, we should be encouraged to play the old system, it got us to the champions league final and we would have easily won it had it not been for a dodgy keeper and salah getting injured. that second half of the season form was also similar to the form we are in now. we've been great this season but like most people are saying we are missing a gear. I think klopp will continue the same tactics for the premier league as it is working but if city start closing the gap then its time to stick our foot on the gas and no longer scrape wins. One thing is for sure, scrap the tactics for the champions league, we almost didn't qualify because of it.

10.) 03 Feb 2019 23:09:59
I agree with Ron. Keita will be just fine.

11.) 04 Feb 2019 05:56:37
Keita is a first season lemon.

12.) 04 Feb 2019 06:33:39
Agree with wiseryan on this one.
Tactically, I understand why Klopp is going more with two holding mids to cover the fullbacks allowing them to bomb forward without inhibition. But I do think that having a front three of LW Mane - CF Firmino - RW Salah is better, potentially with someone like Ox, Shaq, Keita playing the role in behind (but more defensive than Firmino is playing right now) . But hey, I am no manager, and I trust Klopp knows what he is doing more than my armchair wits can think through.

Hoping for a repeat of the 4-0 start to the season today, with Everton doing us a favor against City midweek. Fingers crossed!

13.) 04 Feb 2019 08:12:56
Our second half of last season form?
Let's take our last 15 games of that season shall we.

Lost 3 (Swansea, Man Utd, Chelsea)
Drew 4 (Spurs, Everton, West Brom, Stoke)

I hope you are wrong and that we are playing much better than that because otherwise, we'll finish at least 6 points behind Man City in May.

14.) 04 Feb 2019 10:36:41
Klopping, i would not expect Everton to take any points at all off City, even though, no doubt the players would like to, but the supporters, (a minority) would not care at all if they took no points from the game, as that would help city. let's just earn our own points and not rely on anyone at all, to win/ lose for us, all the damm sweeter when we do win.

15.) 04 Feb 2019 10:42:19
Am i reading this right? Top of the league, 5 points gap, People want to go back to last years tactics when we finished 4th if things get tight? Makes a lot of sense. Thank christ we are not managing!

16.) 04 Feb 2019 11:07:15
MK, we were busy winning games in the champions league. Id say our win loss ratio is about the same as this season when including all competitions.

17.) 04 Feb 2019 11:39:20
Swishcleaner - We finished 4th last year because we had a bad defence and goalie. Who's to say we wouldn't be even better this season, with the old attacking tactics, now that our defence has transformed into one of our strengths?

18.) 04 Feb 2019 12:43:59
Adam- Klopp is the one ‘to say’ and I’m inclined to agree with him. The tactical changes have also helped build that solid base ( as well as the personnel obviously)

19.) 04 Feb 2019 14:14:31
Swish - just because Klopp has "said" it, doesn't mean he is right. For all he/ we know, employing the attack in their positions last season - which was devastating, combined with this much better defence we have now, could be even better. Maybe we would be more than 5 points clear now.

20.) 05 Feb 2019 12:32:36
Adam. He’s right cos we’re about 15 points better off. IF he did t change we could be on the same points as last year. ‘5 points better off is your guess’ the 15 points is actually what happened.

02 Feb 2019 12:54:18
Ed001 regarding Gomez who has showing he is a very good centre half but is injury prone

What do you do with a player like that who's quality is enough to start and build a partnership with but he is unreliable as he seems to get a lot of bad injuries.

{Ed001's Note - how is he injury prone? He is growing, youngsters often pick up injuries due to that. It is only once he finishes growing we will know if there is actually any genuine long term problems to be protected.}

1.) 02 Feb 2019 21:12:27
Look at Gerrard when he first broke in to the team. He couldn't play 2 games in a week and questions were asked if his body was up to the demands playing in the premiere league puts on players.

2.) 02 Feb 2019 21:19:08
Spot on, Ed. I for the life of me, do not know where people get this "Gomez is injury prone" stuff from. Beggars belief really. It is normal for young players to pick up injuries as they grow into their bodies. I remember Ronaldo9 picking up injuries as an 18 yr old at PSV and at Barcelona due to his physique and his style of play (pace, power, dribbling acceleration etc) and I never heard people call him injury-prone at that age, younger than Gomez. I wonder why?

3.) 03 Feb 2019 00:00:47
If someone suffers a broken leg in a challenge can we count that towards being ‘injury prone’? I would just call it ‘sh*t happens’ personally.

In my mind, he has only really had 1 major injury before this and 1 more minor one that kept him out towards end of last season - at a time when he wasn’t a guaranteed starter. I

Maybe my memory serves me incorrect, but I think this injury prone narrative people throw about with Gomez is pretty unfair. I feel like people are confusing when he was in the reserves and suffering poor form so not breaking through as him simply being injured.

Again though, I could be wrong! Feel free to correct me.

4.) 03 Feb 2019 09:25:55
MrSox87, not only is it unfair. It is unfounded and has NO basis in reality.

What would your plan be for Trent if we signed him ed try him in the middle?

{Ed001's Note - my first thought would be it would mean we would not have to use Gomez on the right personally, rather than it affecting Trent's role.}

Big statement to say Henderson and Milner are better full backs ed

Clyne isn't excatly cafu but could do a job also would allow Milner and Henderson to play midfield were they are better.

{Ed001's Note - not a big statement at all, Clyne has never been any good for us, but even worse since we expected a full back to offer any kind of attacking support. I have seen people shank better crosses than his better deliveries.}

Unlucky that he didn't win that peno or better yet never got fouled and could of scored himself a goal to make it 2-1 would of been a huge confidence boost for him

But luck isn't on his side so hard work is all he can do.
