Ed002, it appears from noise that Liverpool are pushing hard for Amorim and you have mentioned he is first choice.

You also mentioned he has interest from elsewhere.

I was hoping you would tell me what your gut is telling you. I know you prefer to stick to facts for obvious reasons but if you had to guess (at gunpoint), where do you think he will end up next season? Do you suspect he will make the move to us?

Davey Sulls

{Ed002's Note - I think there is a very good chance he will move to Liverpool but the club need to talk with Sporting, pay up and then perhaps sign a no poaching agreement.}

1.) 18 Apr 2024 19:28:31
Thanks a mill Ed. Player poaching agreement is all good with me. Plenty of good players out there for Liverpool to get their hands on.

2.) 18 Apr 2024 23:07:53
I read his son has asked him to win the league and stay at sporting.

3.) 18 Apr 2024 23:47:35
No poaching agreement as in if Amorim become new manager, Liv will not go after Sporting players? That's a shame because I thought Inacio would be a good addition to Liv team and perhaps Van Dijk long term replacement.

{Ed002's Note - It is not uncommon and Liverpool have previously upset Sporting.

Goncalo Inacio (CB) Watched by scouts from a number of PL sides, including Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester United, with each declaring an interest. Sporting will not be keen to do business with Liverpool although the club could potentially arrange to pay his full Release Clause in a single payment and force the situation if the player is interested - and that seems a strong possibility. The other sides to declare an interest are Newcastle and PSG, but PSG have a plan over another player but it is looking unlikely he will join - so Inacio might become the focus. Real Madrid offer a wildcard option. Sporting would rather not sell and are looking to a further new contract and an increased release clause. Newcastle have held talks with Sporting in order to be able to speak directly to the player and to understand if there is flexibility in the payment schedule – but there isn't. Arsenal interest would have departed with the signing of Timber although it has returned with the injury to Timber and impending departures. They are actively seeking talks with Sporting. The player has also been offered to Chelsea by his agent when discussing another player, but they have preferred options for a long-term Silva replacement although do have an interest in Inacio's CB partner Diomande. Arsenal have made a tentative offer that has been rejected. The player's agent has also said that Inacio is open to a move to Manchester United and they may push depending on departures.}

4.) 19 Apr 2024 06:41:52
So is it Klopp who taps up players or other Liverpool staff I get so confused as to who is our real culprit of tapping everyone up.

{Ed002's Note - We have been through this repeatedly.}

02 Apr 2024 10:33:13
It looks like Pedro Marques will sign with FSG. Again, like Edwards, it seems they will be contracted to FSG rather than Liverpool. Again, looking like FSG will become multi club owners.

With both having strong player recruitment backgrounds, do you suspect they will be involved in player recruitment at Liverpool?

Davey Sulls

{Ed002's Note - Pedro Marques is wanted as the Technical Director so FSG are looking at a set up which is different than before and more aligned with what Chelsea others have done. You are corerect about the multi-club ownership approach as well. They will not have a major role in deciding on targets.}

1.) 02 Apr 2024 11:29:48
A second club in Portugal for FSG perhaps.
That would be a good move, as we can buy Latin talent and bed them in in Portugal.

2.) 02 Apr 2024 12:49:46
A 3 club model has been mooted one in South America and one in Portugal with us being the flagship . Again not sure how true it is but read that on a few different pages over the last few weeks ??.

3.) 02 Apr 2024 12:30:59
I can only really judge what's happening on the pitch.

My knowledge of the work that happens behind the scenes is absolutely zilch but I do know it's very important.

Can I ask your opinion of Pedro Marques?

{Ed002's Note - I have not met Pedro Marques but he did well in a similar multiclub role at the City Group, so you would assume it will be OK.}

4.) 02 Apr 2024 13:18:44
Cheers Ed.

06 Mar 2024 09:52:37
Hi Ed002,

Hope all is well.

I see Richard Hughes is leaving his position and has been linked with us numerous times. Do you think he is a possibility for our DOF position.

Also, do you have an opinion on him and if he would be a good candidate?

Thanks.

Davey Sulls

{Ed002's Note - Maybe an option but there is interest from another side as well.}

1.) 06 Mar 2024 10:30:03
Is that Newcastle Ed?

{Ed002's Note - No.}

2.) 06 Mar 2024 11:49:07
Roma?

3.) 06 Mar 2024 11:09:16
I read that Roma are keen. Ed002 - I know you say that he maybe an option. Do you know if he somebody that was already being considered or is it just because he has become 'available'?

{Ed002's Note - He was already of interest.}

4.) 07 Mar 2024 16:05:54
Any chance ill get the offer mate???.

26 Jan 2024 18:24:07
Ed002, if I may, given today's news ask you your opinion with a few questions.

1. For me, DOF should now be the first priority with Schmadtke leaving. The DOF should be involved in the decision making process of manager IMO. Do you think the club will prioritise this appointment first?

2. I know you've provided a list before but I believe it's been some time ago. Can you remind us of the candidates again for DOF?

3. Out of these realistic candidates, could you kindly advise who you think would be the best choice?

Fully realised this is a large amount of information requested and appreciate any thoughts you are willing to provide when you have time to do so.

Thanks.

Davey Sulls

{Ed002's Note - 1. I agree Davy. The person the club wanted is not interested and moving elsewhere. Another approached had no interest. But it needs addressing.
2. The list has dwindled rather and the club could look to extending Schmadtke a further year. Tiago Pinto would have been a good option but no. Rui Pedro Braz would be a great option but I expect him to heald elsewhere.
3. Rui Pedro Braz.}

1.) 27 Jan 2024 11:58:04
Isn't Gordon also wanting to retire, Ed? Could we look a sporting CEO type role with a seat on the board? Would that not open up the quality of options?

Also, might FSG call on Edwards to help?

{Ed002's Note - (1) No. (2) Edwards has other priorities now.}

2.) 27 Jan 2024 12:18:11
Hi ed2.

Always appreciate your insight. Is there a reason that perceived top DOFs aren’t interested in working at Liverpool? I would have thought it an attractive proposition for most?

{Ed002's Note - One was waiting on a job elsewhere, and the other had a concern about saying yes to the offer so stepped away.}

3.) 27 Jan 2024 12:19:11
Thanks, Ed.

4.) 27 Jan 2024 12:51:30
Very interesting Ed and thanks for the response.

Out of interest, do you think the candidates who turned it down, is it possible either could become interested again without Klopp?

Klopp is such a powerful figure in the club, it would have been tough to overrule him so much. As such, a sporting director would find it tougher to implement their thoughts more.

For the fans, I would keep Klopp over any Sporting director ten more years. I'm just simply trying to look at this from a sporting directors point of view.

{Ed002's Note - No, it is nothing to do with Klopp.}

5.) 27 Jan 2024 14:45:47
Thanks Ed. You are awesome. Appreciate the feedback.

{Ed002's Note - You are welcome.}

6.) 27 Jan 2024 15:37:16
Ed002 - Was the one we wanted paul Mitchell?
Is he off to United?

Cheers
Drogie.

{Ed002's Note - Nothing to do with Paul Mitchell.}

7.) 27 Jan 2024 15:50:40
Fair enough ed002, who were we interested in?

{Ed002's Note - It has moved on now.}

23 Jan 2024 23:12:51
Rumours of a late bid for koopmeiners this window from Tutto Atlanta. Usually I ignore these rumours but I always find it interesting when it's from a very local news outlet.

What are your thoughts Ed002. Think this one is a possibility?

Davey Sulls

{Ed002's Note - Teun Koopmeiners (DM/CM) Atalanta are reluctant to sell but his agent wants the player to be playing in the Champions League with Newcastle, Juventus and Napoli having declared interest. Interest of Milan shifted to Tijjani Reijnders so they can be discounted. Approaches were been made to Arsenal, Spurs, Liverpool and Chelsea although none have spoken with Atlanta and all have other targets for now. Brighton and Aston Villa interest has gone. Juventus has a creative solution and will push for a summer move. Marseille have walked away due to the quoted cost although a change of ownership could see a huge shift for them. Atalanta are seeking €60M if pressed to sell.}

1.) 24 Jan 2024 13:47:44
Thanks Ed. Great informative response as always.

When you re a little down after the weekend's result and you see Allison, Jota, Trent and Bajcetic returning to training.

Just the little boost I needed to put the fire back in the belly.

I ve felt I was being a little chicken as a fan the last few weeks going in scared into every game. What if we slip up.

Well screw that. Time to win this thing. And the Europa cup. We'll win it all.

Arsenal will draw one of their tough games.

But I do believe we will need to win all our remaining 7 games.

That point was so important to stay ahead of City who I think have a good chance of winning all their remaining games.

So simply put, I've cleaned the train, serviced it, filled my ticket gun thingy, filled the snacks bar, got a liquor licence for those that enjoy that sort of thing, and am going to pull into every darn station a Liverpool fan resides.

7 games to go till we win the league!

All Aboard!

PS. We all know how Klopps last game is going to go anyway.

Drury:
Clock goes into injury time here.
They needed to just win to get the league but it looks like they'll just manage the draw.
City heading for an unprecedented 4 in a row.

Gary Neville chimes in. City are a machine. Simply unstoppable. In another era this Liverpool team could have won more trop.

Drury:
JJJOOOOOEEEEEE GOOOOOMMEEEEEEZZZZZZZ!

Davey Sulls

1.) 10 Apr 2024 11:28:53
That was excellent Davey Sulls. I truly hope it happens this way. ???.

2.) 10 Apr 2024 11:32:18
Oh hold on. Var is checking. Bit odd as it was a strike from 40 yards. Not clear what they are checking but will bring that to you as soon as we have it.

In the mean time Joe Gomez has been sent off. First yellow card for removing his shirt but this is now red as he has removed everything else and is running around the pitch celebrating bollock naked.

Still no idea what VAR are checking here. We hear VAR refs are in consultation with Arsenal and Man City chiefs to come up with ideas here.

Gomez showing some real pace here as he is getting chased around by security officials. He has actually just clocked the fastest speed in premier league history here. Will that count as game is still running?

VAR check ongoing.

Thankfully Gomez has gone down the tunnel now.

VAR check over. GOAL reluctantly stands.

Oh GOD, Joe Gomez has re-emerged from the tunnel, still bollock naked except for a party hat and two exploding bottles of champagne.

Why can't anybody catch him?

The pixelator is also doing a terrible job of keeping up with him.

We'd just like to apologize to families and kids at home.

Oh god, what's he doing now.

Good lord, commercial! Quick! Go to commercial!

3.) 10 Apr 2024 13:42:35
Lol love it mate how many you had? Haha we're going to do it, I'm thinking last day win will do it. I reckon it'll be out of us and city when looking at fixture lists. Bring it on! We've got this.

I was so bitter after the utd result but we have to keep believing because arsenal for sure will drop points. It's upto us to go out and win all of our games. I think we still have villa and spurs to play and even west ham? If I remember right but it makes no difference who we're playing, although they are tricky opponents, every team in the league are and we've done well so far so I'll go on that. We can win, we just have to turn up every game and personally I believe we will.

Either way though let's be honest, we've had a great season and whoever wins it deserves it. What a season, 3 teams battling it out at this stage? Fantastic, makes it exciting, it'll be even more exciting when we're lifting that trophy.

4.) 10 Apr 2024 14:06:22
Lol Davey, I can just imagine the scenes mate. Of Gomez hitting a screamer that is, not him bollock naked ?.

5.) 10 Apr 2024 14:48:57
I’ll take a Gomez 90min in off the backside after a goal line scramble to win the title. Or a Nunez scuffed shot that hit the post and trickles in.

Let’s win all our remaining games and see what happens. I do think the match up against Spurs and Chelsea may have some surprises in store for Arsenal. They may end up just like we did against Utd - dominate the game but somehow can’t win it and the opposition is on 100% clinical rate that day; 2 shots, 2 on target and 2 goals while they did have 20 shots, 10 on target and only scored 2 somehow.

6.) 10 Apr 2024 16:49:08
Gomez is becoming a pest with this scoring lark, all of a sudden against United he was capable of scoring 20 yard volleys and outside the box screamers, fans need to chill about it, he is the last player we need to encourage to have a shot, leave it until we are 3/ 4 up.

7.) 10 Apr 2024 17:07:16
Will never look at Joe Gomez the same, thanks Davey??.

8.) 10 Apr 2024 17:09:37
I merely see into the future FSGfleecingus. I do not have the power to control it. That would be ridiculous.

7 prem games to go until the Joe Gomez X rated show.

9.) 10 Apr 2024 18:09:42
Magic!

10.) 10 Apr 2024 18:12:18
I played that all out in my head ? Cheers Davey. Good laugh!

11.) 10 Apr 2024 19:52:18
Yes @davey Sulls I’m buying a ticket for this train
Next stop station number 20 last stop anfield ??????.

12.) 10 Apr 2024 21:06:50
I have reserved you a personal carriage DHFC as a gold class customer.

I have taken the liberty of ordering your usual. A fully stacked complimentary minibar, a jacuzzi and cinema screen is ready to go for the big games.

Your personal live entertainment will be Dua Lipa. She is only contracted to sing but she did mention she quite fancies you so I'll put the "do not disturb" sign up just in case.

13.) 11 Apr 2024 08:05:18
That wasn't a dig at you @Davey, that was a class read with the voices becoming live in my head while reading, it comes from the games, he has started to become a problem with this shooting bit, he hasn't scored for a reason, it's a bit like ordering Coutinho from Wish HA.

14.) 11 Apr 2024 11:57:02
Love it Davey, albeit I am hoping we cruise the final game 6-0 for the sake of my heart!

15.) 11 Apr 2024 17:15:55
Oh crap, Davey! You got me hooked again. Let’s go get it!

02 Mar 2024 21:46:43
I have to say the reaction to the ball not being given back is crazy. it should have been a free anyway. And it was 2 minutes and multiple phases before the final goal.

And also, the exact same thing happened earlier in the game in reverse. I thought it was odd but was not shouting at my tv or anything.

It's not like a blatant penalty or legit goal was disallowed or anything.

If this is the new level of complaining then the Nottingham Forrest player tripped himself up and got a freekick. That's more of an outrage. I hope Liverpool send an official complaint to PGMOL over that.

I know we complain but we ve had far bigger complaints than this.

I very much believe we are firmly in the minus with refereeing decisions this season.

I argued on Crystal Palaces side when they got the red against us. I thought that was harsh and luckyish for us.

But this one is a joke. I get the pressure is on them and the media will jump on any drama. But the same thing happened us earlier in the game and it should have been a free anyway. And it was miles before the goal. And they are on about an official complaint. Bunch of idiots.

Davey Sulls

1.) 02 Mar 2024 22:22:58
They’re Fighting for their lives. Let them moan. We move onto midweek.

2.) 02 Mar 2024 22:52:40
You're right there LFC8. And perhaps its the timing in the game that hurts them the most.

He is one shocking ref to be fair. He made the same mistake twice in the game for both sides. He needs a rule book. ?.

3.) 02 Mar 2024 23:12:52
We got away with one today. Shocking decision by Tierney. We take it and move on.

4.) 02 Mar 2024 23:12:54
Liverpool definitely need to complain. Tierney didn’t understand the rules when he gave the ball to the Forest keeper after one of their players went down with a head injury and Liverpool were in possession.

If Liverpool had the ball back they may have gone on to score which could have lead to a bigger win. That could be vital at the end of the season.

PGMOL should be offering yet another apology to Liverpool.

5.) 02 Mar 2024 23:18:32
Lets not forget a clear kick in the face was why Konate went down in the first place.

6.) 02 Mar 2024 23:47:19
Like I said a while back in the course of a season - back in the day of a referee and two touch judges, you had some rubbish decisions go for you and some go against you and by an d large they even each other out.

If you strip away VAR and all the attendant ballyhoo, we’ve had Tottenham against us and Notts Forest for us. Basically the same as it’s always been.

Let’s crack on to the next match - it’s absolutely brilliant to watch at the moment even when we are tired (like today) .

As an aside did anyone see the Michael Jordan quote in the BBC report of the game He said something like ‘I’ve never lost a game, sometimes I just ran out of time, but if you ever once give up then it becomes a habit’.

7.) 03 Mar 2024 00:57:54
We would be kicking off too if it was other way round. Sometimes you need a break just didn’t expect it to be at the hands of Tierney.

8.) 03 Mar 2024 01:06:31
Hi All

Long time reader but never posted. I normally try not to get involved. I was at the game with Forest fans and it infuriated me how much they and now all the media, especially MOTD have honed in on the drop ball. It happened early in the game against us when the ball hit, I think, Yates’ head. It is arguably the only time Tierney has ever showed consistency.

9.) 03 Mar 2024 01:59:28
Some of these responses seem crazy to me. It was an extremely minor mistake that didn’t directly lead to a goal. If I was in the Forest camp I’d be more annoyed at my defenders for failing to clear the ball despite having multiple opportunities. It feels like football now is constantly looking for someone to blame rather than take responsibility for their own actions.

10.) 03 Mar 2024 02:54:44
Listening to few pundits I thought Tierney himself put in a cross for Nunez.

11.) 03 Mar 2024 03:11:59
I guess what we’ve been crying out for? Consistency
Just that in this instance he was consistently wrong! But it worked in our favor.
Also, indeed, if VAR was ever remotely useful in this game, it was to pull a red card on the head of Konate. Many will say it’s harsh but Mane got sent off years back against city for an unintentional high boot on Ederson and rightly so.
The timing of the goal definitely hurt them to lead to the post match reactions but I don’t think they can really complain when (1) they had 2 players booked for time wasting in added time and (2) it clearly says adding on a minimum (not maximum) of 8 mins.

It was a damn hard game with our depleted squad and a well organised defence with pace to burn on the counter. So we take the W and charge on to title 20.

12.) 03 Mar 2024 06:40:43
The thing is for me. is that this incident is getting more attention than the Utd goal vs Forest during the week.

The ref made the same decision TWICE in the same game. so why the reaction for the 2nd incident?

So LFC are seen to get away with one. but did we really? There were multiple times in the game that the ref got it wrong, and are people going on about those, of course not.

The blatant dive was CHEATING at best, yet that is swept under the covers. Why don't people focus on those incidents. because maybe it doesn't talk to their agendas?

To focus on this specific incident, whilst so many other things go unmentioned is just pathetic.

13.) 03 Mar 2024 08:00:45
Rome1977!, we got away with what, exactly? I propose you go watch the game again. Forrest are crying cos they did not get decisions that we did not get when they committed the same offences, same decisions we did NOT get so where's the beef? Tierney was terrible for both teams (as is the norm with such an arrogant fraud) and that was it. If PL refs being terrible on both sides is shocking to you then, you've not been paying attention to PL officiating for the past 3 years or so. That's on you.

We got the win our efforts, desire and determination deserved. Forrest can cry more. Maybe had they not started diving all over the place, time-wasting during injury time and got carded for it then maybe they would have gotten the point. They didn't. Their loss.

14.) 03 Mar 2024 08:46:16
My point WDW, is the media/ Forrest are trying to make out this is a huge decision that's gone out way and cancelled out things like the Tottenham goal and arsenal handball.

My point was that it wasn't. Same thing happened in reverse earlier in the game. And in our case, it should have been a freekick to us anyway. And getting possession on your goal line no way levels off a clear goal and penalty.

Tierney is a terrible ref but he was consistent in that calling during the game. It was even. He made the same call twice. He gave a free to anyone who fell down on both sides.

My point was the refereeing (while useless) was fair on both sides. Liverpool did not get an advantage. What is very slightly bugging me is this thought that Liverpool got this huge red advantage. We didn't.

We should have had a free and the result would be the same.

15.) 03 Mar 2024 09:13:16
OliRed, it should've been a drop ball to Forest. It was Kelleher who put Konate down. Like I say, we move on, just like we had to after the Spurs game.

16.) 03 Mar 2024 09:48:01
Konate was kicked in the head also Rome.

It should have been a freekick.

{Ed025's Note - yeah it seem every time a Liverpool player is tackled its a foul Davey, while when its them they never foul or do anything wrong mate, the refs should know this and take it into consideration..

17.) 03 Mar 2024 10:46:52
Rome1977!, and why was it not a drop ball to us when Yeates hit the ground when Elliott's shot hit him in the head? Again, I don't think you understand what Im saying here. Essentially, Tierney made the same mistake for both teams in the same situations in this case, and in the grabbing-in- the-box incidnts with Danilo and Yeats allover Danns and VVD respectfully and with Gomez on Gibbs-White. Again, what's the problem? Don't you want consistency anymore or only want it when it suits you? I'll wait

Forest are crying cos they say they should have gotten decisions from the ref. that the ref himself, did NOT give to LFC in the same situations. Sorry, that is not fairness. That is requesting special treatment and NO, nobody should get special treatment and neither team got it, thankfully. Sorry, NO extra cookies for them. Like you said, we move on.

18.) 03 Mar 2024 10:24:41
In the modern game Ed, kicks to the head are fouls.

But in hindsight, I ve needlessly opened a can of worms here after a game we won. But I am right. I'm always right.

{Ed025's Note - i have never known a Liverpool fan who thought he was ever wrong Davey, its part of your clubs heritage mate.. :)

19.) 03 Mar 2024 10:52:55
Ed25, try to keep up cos you're waffling again cos nobody said what you have just said. Nor are we asking for special treatment. If anything, it is Forest asking for special treatment cos they want decions Liverpool did not get in the exact same circumstances/ situations. That is NOT fairness.

Again, that is special treatment and I ain't having any of that, mate. Not now. Not ever. Forest can go cry somewhere else esp. that disgraceful section of their fan base singing poverty chants to our fans at the ground. The PL will not miss this lot should they go down, just like nobody cared when Leicester City went down with such fans within their fan base.

{Ed025's Note - dont make out that liverpool fans are any different to other fans Oli, you like everyone else will be happy if a wrong decision goes your way and create blue murder when it doesn,t...that just life mate, or maybe im wrong and the angelic liverpool supporters are different from the rest of us?..

20.) 03 Mar 2024 11:28:49
My mum always said I was special Ed25.

{Ed025's Note - and how right she was WDW.. :)

21.) 03 Mar 2024 11:45:47
OliRed, it suits me that we won the game, that's all, ultimately, that Im bothered about. Let's agree to disagree on this.

22.) 03 Mar 2024 13:27:58
"You like everyone else will be happy if a wrong decision goes your way "

Project much?

23.) 03 Mar 2024 12:54:34
Ed25 is never wrong Oli. It's what we have in common.

Sometimes we disagree on stuff but I was respect his views because we are both never wrong.

Equally I respect him as I heard a rumour he can land you in a foreign jail by merely selecting an option on a computer.

{Ed025's Note - be careful Davey...you are on remand at the moment mate.. :)

28 Feb 2024 22:00:54
These Liverpool youngsters are class. Quansah and Bradley are like senior pros at this stage.

Clark massively impressed me tonight. Danns just looks like a finisher. He looks like he will score goals.

Onwards and hopefully upwards .

Davey Sulls

1.) 28 Feb 2024 22:07:34
Clarke is phenomenal. Moves the ball around really well. And keeps possession, doesn't lose it.

The academy kids are running riot. Who would have thought it?

2.) 28 Feb 2024 22:09:32
Felt the same about Quansah and Bradley. In a sense, no longer as impressed with them as this is the level of performance expected of them now but shouldn’t (at least not consistently) considering this is their breakout season and they are only just coming of age. Huge testament to them that while they are still part of Klopp Kids but the association doesn’t come so instinctively in such a short space of time.

3.) 28 Feb 2024 22:16:26
Bobby Clark genuinely looks like a real talent. Today was probably the first time we actually got to see him on the ball, we already knew he presses intensely off the ball and not afraid to use his physicality, but he looked really good on the ball. Good ball carrying and passing range and seems to move the ball quickly. Could be a fixture in the squad even when everyone returns. Danns is another who has been very impressive in all his appearances till now. It helps that he is tall and hence able to occupy defenders. Koumas looked a bit lightweight right now, and probably needs to spend some time in the gym before he can be a genuine option. On a side note, I was completely confused by what roles Mcconell and Gomez were playing though. Gomez massively struggled with the DM role until Macallister came on.

4.) 29 Feb 2024 05:13:08
I like the Nyoni kid.
16 years of age, that boy is going to be a decent footballer yanno!

Clarke was immense I thought too. And quensah was confident, solid and great positioning. He's fast too.

Our squad are mentality F-word monsters!

Lead by a giant 6.5 leader.

My god. Whatever happens, at least we don't go empty handed this season.

Some people will scoff at the carabou cup. Not me. I wanted it and I'm delighted we won it.

Hopefully we can hold on in the league till the big boys get back.

One game at a time. But nice to have this one in the bag.

1 down and 3 more to go. 51st title in the history of the club. The most in England. Other teams who watched this game, will now know we're never giving up. Incredible, finishing the game with 5 youngsters. Prime display of testicular fortitude.

2.) 25 Feb 2024 18:57:29
AMEN brother it was unbelievable the experience they would of gained through that is priceless.

3.) 25 Feb 2024 19:00:24
Davey and ArAy1969, that's why I stopped complaining about injuries. Also, I don't complain about injuriies cos Klopp doesn't. He has the mentality of "Next man up". Or in this case, "Next kid up". No excuses. No whining. No crying. Go out there regardless of how old you are and get it done. And boy, did this team and kids, get it done. Bravo!

4.) 25 Feb 2024 22:10:37
Regardless of anything else it’s a really great boost to the whole squad.

22 Feb 2024 10:09:05
Team that didn't start yesterday due to injuries/ niggles/ returning from injury.

Alisson
Trent Konate. Matip. Robertson
Bajcetic
Szobozlai. Jones
Salah. Nunez. Jota

Thiago

That is just nuts.

Would be a good game last nights team against this team mate.

If both teams entered the football pyramid they would probably be the 1st and 2nd best teams on Merseyside followed by Tranmere in 3rd.

2.) 22 Feb 2024 11:45:47
@Davey, that team (bar Baj who has played 2 games all season) would win a CL final, potentially. I hear other clubs talking about their injuries (sometimes including those who have played next to no games this season) BUT that lineup is sick even if injured.

3.) 22 Feb 2024 12:27:16
JK23
Proper wind up there

Reckon Everton would still struggle to make it into 4th spot .

4.) 22 Feb 2024 13:08:47
In 4th we have Liverpool U21s, 5th is Liverpool U18s. I think Everton come in just after the Liverpool U9s. They are a bit better than our U8s after all.

5.) 22 Feb 2024 14:48:16
Where is Ed025, when we want to hear from him? ?.

{Ed025's Note - i have been asleep since that first half yesterday ArAy, good second half display though mate..

6.) 22 Feb 2024 20:06:19
@Taurus - you’re wrong mate, after the U-9’s would be Tranmere, then Everton ?.

{Ed025's Note - you are all lapping it up now WDW while you are sitting pretty, you lot have done nothing but moan for the last 34 years except for one, every dog has its day mate and i can put up for the crowing because our time will come around again, i wouldn,t mind but this is not a great Liverpool team mate as much as you are bigging them up...and thats not bitterness..

7.) 22 Feb 2024 20:35:16
An interesting point be ed25 about this not being a great Liverpool team. This may be true but the reason we are doing well is that it is a very good squad. We have probably had better 11-13 players but I think the 22-24 man squad is at a high level who seem to be able to come in and out whilst still achieving results. They all know the system and what they are doing.

As a cohesive squad it is probably the best I have seen as evidenced by Davey Sulls team of non starters.

{Ed025's Note - its a grafting squad for me Bob, quite a lot of mediocrity in there mate but Klopp always seems to get a tune out of them, i cant think of more than 3 who get in the city side myself to be honest but your manager seems to be able to turn these pigs ears into silk purses, hell quite a few of them dont get in the Everton team for me, but you deserve everything you are getting this season because the players buy into the organisation and work ethic, and even though it is quite boring to watch at times you cant fault their application..

8.) 22 Feb 2024 21:10:48
I’m sorry Ed, I couldn’t help it mate.

I agree with you mate, I don’t think it’s a great team at the moment but I think the way the squad is going they have the potential to be.

The best thing for us from a Red perspective is that we have a really good mix of experience and youth and a growing number of our (younger) squad players are starting to look like they wouldn’t look out of place in a starting line-up in the PL, which is something we haven’t really had in the PL era, at least in terms of the numbers coming through.

For the record, I don’t ever see you as bitter - you’re a diehard Evertoniam with blue tinted glasses. I can only hope that one day you see the light and seek medical help mate.

{Ed025's Note - i have made the appointment already WDW, its nice to see the young lads getting a chance mate and you have a couple of crackers there i must admit, i actually hope you win all before you this season as a tribute to the brilliance that is Klopp..... then fall flat on your faces next season of course.. :)

9.) 23 Feb 2024 07:15:49
Our main attribute is that we have a great manager who has installed a fantastic work ethic in the club.
Our lads work there socks off regardless who plays and that's the starting point of any team that wants to wins things.

10.) 23 Feb 2024 11:36:02
"Note - its a grafting squad for me Bob, quite a lot of mediocrity in there mate. "

Sorry, I ain't having it. Also, I don't care about City cos their manager wouldn't be able to do jack squat with the squad Klopp is killing it with atm. That's a fact.

The fact is that if City or Arsenal were doing what we are doing with the headwinds we have had, people (including many on here) would be calling them a great team. IMO, We are a great team cos we are outperforming everyone despite the headwinds we currently have or have had. That is a mark of greatness, itself, IMO.

{Ed025's Note - i cant knock what the club are doing Oli they are doing the business week in week out mate, its not very pretty at times and in my opinion you are punching well above your weight with the standard of players you have, by the way i think Klopp is miles better than Pep and if he had your squad i would expect Liverpool to finish about half way..

Thanks a mill Ed. Player poaching agreement is all good with me. Plenty of good players out there for Liverpool to get their hands on.

I massively respect Emery as a manager/ coach. I think he is brilliant. But he is just a bad fit for us in terms of style and approach. I think he would not work out.

I'm really hoping it's going to be Amorim. Slightly worried by names such as Kovac right now. Hopefully that is bogus.

I can only really judge what's happening on the pitch.

My knowledge of the work that happens behind the scenes is absolutely zilch but I do know it's very important.

Can I ask your opinion of Pedro Marques?

Davey Sulls

{Ed002's Note - I have not met Pedro Marques but he did well in a similar multiclub role at the City Group, so you would assume it will be OK.}

The players as well.
I know there's a lot of talk about tactics and that's got some validity for sure.

But tactics don't count for anything when players aren't closing down, playing passes behind players, falling over at bad times and missing sitters.

That was my point in the match posts. Yes, the coach is responsible for some of this but the players own an awful lot of what is happening right now. They need to really wake up now.

Just remember Scouse John it was Klopp who wants the divorce because we didn't take him on enough sunny holidays.

I wanted couples counselling but it is what it is.

Of course there were some good times. Who could forget that night of passion in Madrid that ended with that amazing ORIGIasm.

We'll stay great friends. That's for sure. He is the one that thought us to love again. Although, it was a little weird on carabou cup nights when we woke up in the bed with Pep Linders. What just happened?

At least we get the kids. Little Alexis and Dom, little Conor and his cheeky face, Trent (He's growing up so fast. Sniff sniff) and the rest. We had a lot of children with him.

Some of the older ones will move out. Mo and Virj maybe. But you can't stay at home forever.

But there's life in us fans yet. We're no spring chickens but we still give a hell of a rendition of "Allez Allez Allez", "Oh Andy, Andy" and that classic "You'll never walk alone" . Not even Klopp when he leaves. He'll have pep with him.

There'll be another who will fall for our charms and we'll fall for his. And I'm sure there'll be many more nights of exciting passion ahead of us.

First things first, we need to find a lineup and performance with better balance between defence and attack.

We had that earlier in the season so we know it's there.

Hopefully Klopp can find that against Crystal Palace. And that will be the basis for the rest of the season.

I get why people are a bit gloomy with recent performances and results but giving up when we are only off top spot on goal difference seems a little over the top. Let's hope for that performance tomorrow and then go from there.

I don't think this season will be a disaster no matter what happens. Champions league football is all bug secured, we won a cup and we brought some talented players into the club and promoted some very important youth players. It would not be a fairytale ending but still a good season in my eyes from where we were last season.

That said, these Liverpool players and coaching staff only no one way. The hard way. We're not done yet.

Like a wise genius posted on the match posts

I'm really hoping Paul Merson gets the job myself.

I wonder how he figures on Liverpool's data analysis.
