Just read on BBC Sport that Coutinho has agreed a 2 year loan with option to buy to return to Liverpool. Seems to originate from an Italian site (which is bizarre in itself as he's a Brazilian playing for a Spanish side, moving (apparently) to an English side!

Zeddicus

1.) 15 Jul 2019 13:14:11
Sounds like BS to me. Still think we're a better team without him and I know we'd all like an Attacking Mid who can change games but I think I'd like one with more pace and with the knack of arriving late into the box and banging in the odd goal or 10 - on past form that's not really Couts game.

2.) 15 Jul 2019 13:14:45
Ignore it Zeddicus mate. All fabrication. I have more chance of signing for us next season that he has mate.

3.) 15 Jul 2019 13:23:07
His agent kia jorachim was on radio this morning saying he's not leaving Barcelona this summer. Although I wouldn't believe a word that comes out of his mouth.

4.) 15 Jul 2019 13:23:51
As if Barcelona will loan him for 2 years with an option too buy for 88million, honestly its laughable .

5.) 15 Jul 2019 13:33:33
Really see no upside to that deal for Barcelona, if it was just an option to buy. A commitment to buy would make more sense, especially if there was also a considerable loan payment made, but a) that's not what the article says and b) I don't think it's true in any way.

6.) 15 Jul 2019 13:52:44
A 2 year loan with an option to buy at the end of the loan would just be ridiculous from Barcelona's point of view. As a player he seems to be in decline.

So if he's worth £88 million now, he'll be worth less at the end of the loan in 2 years time. I also cannot see where he would fit into this Liverpool team.

7.) 15 Jul 2019 14:13:01
Isn't the 88million the amount that Barcelona still owe us? So basically we can have him for 2 years and then keep him. To be fair I'd take him. he would of turned 1 of those draws last season into a win. at least 1. I know he left in bad circumstances, but we all make some mistakes in life. Hopefully there is a chance of him fekir or cornet.

8.) 15 Jul 2019 15:07:52
The team were better after he left. I’d rather a player that fit us better. I’d also rather have the money barcelona owe us, Coutinho is worth far less then that. It’s worth keeping the books balanced so we’re ready when an alisson/ Van dijk comes along.

9.) 15 Jul 2019 15:34:41
Personally I’d take him back in a heartbeat. Proven in the prem and no matter how it’s gone in Spain he is still a class player no matter what anyone thinks of him.

10.) 15 Jul 2019 16:11:55
A two year loan with an option to buy isn’t that crazy, I think that’s what bayern had for James Rodriguez.
But I don’t think this would happen it will upset too many people.

He doesn’t suit our current play style as he holds onto the ball too long but he’s one of the best in world at breaking a team down when they play deep. A master of cute flicks and passes. His assist to Sturridge when he turned his back on the ball and let it roll over his heel was just ridiculous.

11.) 15 Jul 2019 17:11:36
If you wouldn't have Coutinho back because of the way he angled to leave the club, fair play, understandable, but saying he couldn't improve the team or that he is in declined is outrageous. Do I think Barcelona would approve the above transfer? Nah. Would I have him back? Yes.

{Ed001's Note - sorry but I disagree, he is not that good and we are better without him. Most overrated player around right now, for some reason people are blinded by him and seem to think he is much better than he is. I do agree he has not declined, he just isn't good enough.}

12.) 15 Jul 2019 17:26:48
The way I read it was that he "approved" of the opportunity to do it, no that it was agreed to by either of the teams involved or that it was nailed on.

13.) 15 Jul 2019 17:29:23
We would have won the league with Phil in the team last season. I'd love him back, though i'm certain this is utter nonsense.

14.) 15 Jul 2019 19:46:08
SG84EVA

He wouldn't have got a game with that recurring back injury. ;)

15.) 15 Jul 2019 19:47:38
Never thought he was good enough. We won the lottery when he left not just money the team improved he was a noose around its neck. Can’t believe we still talking about him. There is no one in our squad I would drop for him.

16.) 15 Jul 2019 19:54:50
SG4EVA. With Coutinho in the team, we may have won a game or two that we drew, but some of those 1-0 and 2-1 wins were down to having 11 players completely grafting for the cause.

What I'm saying is that we may have won one of those draws, but also dropped other points due to him taking another valuable member's place.

Who would you have him play instead of? Mane? Henderson? Wijnaldum? He doesn't have anywhere near the level of commitment that those bring to our team.

17.) 15 Jul 2019 21:02:22
The main thing people remember when you mention Coutinho is his goals from outside the box and quick feet in tight spaces. Besides those what else has he got? He doesn't put in a defensive shift, he can sometimes be a bit selfish and shoot when there is no chance instead of keeping possession and he developed a back problem wearing the weight of the red shirt 😂
I mean if it was really stress that caused his sore back, his back should be broken with how it’s worked out for him in Spain.

18.) 15 Jul 2019 21:30:28
I really want Coutinho back. He can rotate with the front three and if he does well maybe we can change from 433 to a 4231 as we did with Shaqiri.

19.) 15 Jul 2019 22:56:40
Epic potato we had coutinho we didn't score 90 point or win the champions league. Those players you infer aren't as good did and went a whole season only losing away to Manchester City. Two great teams competed and Liverpool finished second if you want to blame anything blame the weather against Leicester the red card that wasn't against Leicester and the stone wall penalty that wasn't against Leicester. Rather than suggesting a player that wasn't good enough to compete at this level previously is now all of a sudden the reason why a team that well surpassed the teams he's competed in is the reason they didn't win the league. Pfft come on pull the ovther one.

20.) 15 Jul 2019 23:23:26
EpicPotato, I'd have Coutinho in the team ahead of Wijnaldum any day, Gini seems to be afforded the luxury of being useless away from home because he grafts a lot. Often people bemoaned our midfield last year for no creative spark and no goals, Couts gives you that.

People keep saying we were better without him, only because we used his money to buy VVD and Alisson, surely it's not because we finally rid ourselves of Coutinhos terrible football? He was great for us, him feeding Mane, Salah and Bobby would be great in my opinion mate.

21.) 15 Jul 2019 22:50:10
Ed001 bang on the money he was a decent player in a n average team for years. Passing is ok his finishing is poor except from the one shot coming in from the left. Liverpool and klopp did great business in seeking him to Barcelona. I'd like to see the club strengthen the depth of the squad to compete in all competitions but that shouldn't be taking an expensive step back to take on a player that's average at best. The deals for the Dutch cb and that Fulham lad are a great step forward. 16 and 17. Hope that Brewster plays more thieves season and then there's origi and shaqiri so maybe that depth is there. Be an interesting season as the squad will be closer now and be European champions. Ox coming back lallana stays fit keita settles in ( glimpses of geniuses at times last year) . So it's a no for coutinho would like to see more goals from midfield but I'm being picky. Expect a quiet month.

22.) 16 Jul 2019 05:11:18
SG84EVA, nearly every game coutinho played for us in a midfield 2/ 3, he was absolutely useless iirc. He drifted around aimlessly far too much instead of getting involved and our tactic was pretty much 'try and give the ball to couts so he can do something with it' because he was never going to try and get it himself.
He was far more effective out on the left, but he doesn't get ahead of Origi as backup out wide for me.

23.) 16 Jul 2019 12:11:30
SG84EVA it's very easy to look at hard working midfielders and say they don't create anything but you would be wrong and you would most definitely not be considering their overall effect on the game.

The it running and pressing creates space for forward players as the opponent have to chase them around. In addition to this they win the ball back much further up the pitch which takes advantage of space.

Do they play the Hollywood killer passes? No but to say they create nothing shows a lack of understanding of the team element of football.

24.) 16 Jul 2019 20:10:27
I've said this numerous times, coutinho flits in and out of games. Does nothing then scores a worldy. It was good business to get rid. If you can't make it in the Spanish league playing for the best team, you won't make it in the premier league. Though you have to give the lad more than one season to produce the goods.

25.) 16 Jul 2019 20:41:31
Cou is history and should stay there, permanently. He is not good enuff cos if he was, why would Barcelona want rid of him? People don't ask that cos all they want is the good parts of Cou's stay here and not the bad parts. We were and are a much better team without him at every level and that much is clear.

"He can turn some of those draws into wins". You mean like he didn't do when he was here? That is just ludicrous. Sorry, I am not interested in Barca's sloppy second's and IMO, neither is Klopp. We are better without him as a team, a group of players and as a club. We have rallied after his departure and come good with flying colors so what would he be doing here when we are already better w/ o him? What will he add that he couldn't add before he left? People are yet to offer any response to this and other pressing questions.

Hey Eds n Reds, can any of you advise as to whether Roma have formally registered any interest with us for Karius?

A story from Fontomac in Italy is listed on the Echo news feed for today.

As a follow up, are the terms of Kariius's loan deal with Besiktas such that it can be broken by us (if we get an offer for his permanent placement, for example)?

Thank you!

Zeddicus

{Ed002's Note - If Roma are interested they need to speak with Besiktas and Liverpool. The loan could potentially be bought out. Roma has a failing goalkeeper and interest in replacing him and have to my knowledge three goalkeepers on their list - not including Karius. They also have a new coach but there is a strong chance of a significant change happening there which may put everything on hold for a short-while.}

1.) 13 Jun 2019 17:10:27
OK, thanks for the info Ed002 :)

2.) 13 Jun 2019 18:11:48
Thought Roma has a pretty decent keeper a couple seasons ago, what happened to him?

3.) 13 Jun 2019 18:35:19
He became a Champions League winner Firmane lol!

4.) 13 Jun 2019 20:27:02
Think last decent keeper they had before big boy Becker was Szczeny.

09 May 2019 09:16:44
I've just called Anfield to check if they plan to show the final this season like they did last year. I was told that there are no plans to do so, but if things change then it will go up on the website.

Sounded like a rehearsed answer to me, so I guess it's a wait an see.

Do I book a hotel room or not?! 🤷‍♂️😂

Anyway, thought I'd share that to save other ringing up too.

Zeddicus

{Ed002's Note - Thanks Z. They are probably too busy sorting out the hospitality tickets anyway.}

1.) 09 May 2019 12:13:53
I would imagine they will zed. I already have the boat from Belfast booked so I'm hoping so!

2.) 09 May 2019 12:43:57
Well worth booking a room in liverpool anyway there won't be many bars without the game on and the atmosphere will be insane, took the girlfriend to watch the seville game and despite my horrible mood after the game she still fell in love with the passion in the city, 3rd time lucky for her to see us lift a european trophy our hotel was booked 10 mins after the whistle!

3.) 09 May 2019 18:37:30
To be honest Swifty, you’re mrs is sounding like a bit of a jinx to be honest 😂.

{Ed025's Note - love it hopeful..

4.) 09 May 2019 19:11:28
Think we’ll have to use this year as the barometer ed, if it all goes pear shaped he’s going to have some tough choices to make.
Joking aside, just read something that suggested the game mightn’t be shown due to the take that concert taking place at Anfield 🙄. Anyway, the atmosphere in the city will be electric and I’m sure if we all pray, show how deep is our love for LFC and have a little patience, the good times could be back for good and we could go on to rule the world. These days, it only takes a minute to score a goal, could it be magic?, absolutely if our players shine and never forget, everything changes in a game so quickly and even if we fall behind, if we play like giants it could still be the greatest day.

5.) 09 May 2019 21:35:04
The game is not going to be shown at Anfield due to the commitments to the concerts being held. The merchandising for the final has been hampered also by these previous commitments.

6.) 09 May 2019 22:21:10
It was a fantastic atmosphere last year and something nice to do for those fans like myself who missed out on tickets in the ballot.

Fingers crossed I’ll be in Madrid this year so won’t have to worry about it!

One thought is that the ground is hosting a take that concert on the Thursday after. Perhaps too little time to clear the necessaries to show the final and then set up for the concert? (I doubt it but you never know) .

7.) 09 May 2019 23:16:28
I put all that effort into shoehorning as many take that songs into that reply and no one even noticed. Honestly, I don’t know why I bother 😤😂.

8.) 10 May 2019 01:07:04
I thought the same hopeful until we scored 3 just after she walked in from work tuesday so decided she might not be all bad!

9.) 10 May 2019 11:18:13
There will be plenty of bars in the city centre to watch it and the atmosphere will be amazing. Also read that they might be showing it at the Echo Arena like the last couple of finals.

10.) 11 May 2019 15:02:37
It could be due to the concerts that we are having at Anfield this years off season for the first time make it unavailable.

08 Jan 2019 10:57:45
One for Ed001 and Ed002 if possible. I see that Godin is potentially being touted for Man Utd.

Do we hold any interest at all? Given his age and experience, do you think he would be a good choice to rotate with VVD and Gomez? I would expect Lovren to make way.

Is the fee being asked for him high in this market (ie >€30m) or less than that? I'm not sure of his contract situation.

Thanks

Z.

Zeddicus

{Ed001's Note - I don't know of any interest from us and I have no idea what price is being asked sorry. I am a bit out of touch at the moment.}

1.) 08 Jan 2019 11:56:06
Thanks Tris. I know you’ve been a fan of Godin’s. In your view, would he be a good addition for us, even at 32? Would he work well with VVD and Gomez given their relative speed?

{Ed001's Note - I love Godin and training with Gomez and VVD would be great for them to learn the dark arts of defending, as Godin is the master of them in the modern game. However he is not really suited to our style of play on the pitch, so, much as I love him, it would maybe not be as good a signing as it would seem on the face of it. Moving to a higher paced league at the age of 32 would be difficult enough for him, without asking him to play 15 yards further up the pitch than he usually does.}

2.) 08 Jan 2019 12:25:48
Sorry, forgot to add, whether you think we need another CB at the expense of Lovren and/ or Matip? The way I see it we now have a very good squad and just need to tweak round the edges to ensure the replacements for our first 11 a) can play in the same way to allow for better integration (not like Sturridge for example) and b) are of a slightly better quality than some we have.

To find very good players who are happy with rotation, in my view you either go for players are the start or end of their careers.

{Ed025's Note - the problem is zed that you dont have "a very good squad", you have a very good first team but i think yesterday showed that the squad is just about how weak as it can get mate, just my view of course..

3.) 08 Jan 2019 12:41:04
Thanks Tris. He sounds like one to keep tabs on and nab in a few years time when he moves into coaching!

4.) 08 Jan 2019 13:03:52
This squad we have is good when we don't have to use them. On paper it's solid but in action it's atrocious!

5.) 08 Jan 2019 13:04:22
P. s. I think our first team is outstanding, not “very good” 😉.

6.) 08 Jan 2019 13:03:39
I take your point Ed025, but the team yesterday wasn’t a team we would put out in the premiership. The Man City team, for example, was an adult lot of regular starters. Maybe very good is pushing it, and we definitely don’t have 2 players for each position. I honestly think our biggest issue is having 3 other attackers in the same mould as our regular 3. Sturridge and Origi play a different type of game which unbalanced the rest of the team too. I have high hopes for Brewster, especially as he had been modelling himself on Bobby, and would like to see how well Kent could do back in our team, not forgetting Woodburn too. However, I suspect we will see Origi and Studge gone by the summer and at least one new player brought in. Would still love for that to be Fekir.

7.) 08 Jan 2019 16:18:09
Top and bottom is first 15 are quality the rest are bang average.

8.) 08 Jan 2019 18:35:36
GOALKEEPERS

Alisson/ Mignolet --- Ederson/ Bravo

DEFENDERS

A. Arnold/ Camacho/ --- Walker/ Danilo
Robertson/ Moreno --- Mendy/ Zinchenko
VanDijk/ Matip --- Stones/ Otamendi
Lovren/ Gomez --- Laporte/ Kompany

MIDDLEFIELDERS

Henderson/ Fabinho --- Fernandinho/ Delph
Milner/ Keita --- DeBruyne/ Gundogan
Wijnaldum/ Chamberlain --- D. Silva/ Foden

FORWARDS

Salah/ Shaqiri --- Sterling/ B. Silva
Mane/ Lallana --- Sane/ Mahrez
Firmino/ Sturridge --- Aguero/ G. Jesus

We have nice depth.

{Ed025's Note - kidding yourself mate..

9.) 08 Jan 2019 17:35:38
I think the problem is that we have about 15 players who have been fully integrated into the Klopp playing style. Some of the others are good to very good players who can't/ won't play the way we need them to (Sturridge, Origi, Moreno) and we need to address this. The squad is a good size but not all of them are a good fit for how we play.

10.) 08 Jan 2019 19:14:34
Based on last night's performance Moreno, Sturridge and Origi should have played their last game for LFC. I would rather the youngsters given the chance than play those 3 bafoons. I have never seen such a lack of effort from Sturridge, Moreno is just a terrible player, how he has got to such a high standard is beyond me. He makes Djimi Traore look good and Origi is just a headless chicken. The sooner those 3 are booted out the better.

11.) 08 Jan 2019 19:57:26
Ed025 no offence but we are top of the league. I like you a lot but I'm afraid to say our squad is rubbish is a regretful comment.

{Ed025's Note - your first team is great hessle and i would suggest even better than city,s, i never called them rubbish mate i called them weak and i stand by that, you may get away with it and win the league anyway...but if you get injuries to 1 or 2 key players it could easily go tits up as i dont think you have the quality of back up that the likes of city have, just an opinion of course..

12.) 08 Jan 2019 21:48:56
Completely agree ed025.

Our squad depth is on paper full. Yes we have a lot of players. But good squad depth is when a player can come in to replace a player and the team play a similar style, the way City have it setup they’ve got exactly that.

We take off mane or Salah we bring on someone with half the pace and not the same energy levels to press in Sturridge, Lallana or Origi. City take off sane or sterling and they bring on Mahrez pretty much the same type of player.

We are along way from having the squad depth to play the same style of play our first team play let alone level and that was clear to see on Monday.

{Ed025's Note - your right jordz, and thats what i have been trying to explain mate..

13.) 08 Jan 2019 23:59:05
Defo still need more signing for the bench. Players have to leave of course.

14.) 09 Jan 2019 00:21:08
I think you Ed, like a lot of other rival fans look at a game last night and try to use it to have a sly dig when you know the truth really.
Fact is our squad is very good. If you take out 10 of any teams best 11 and replace them with a mixture of squad players and development players they would struggle to beat a full strength premier league team away from home.
You are never going to have to play that many squad players and kids at the same time in a game that actually means something.
You might be missing 2 or 3 first team players at any one time and we have more than enough to cover that in most positions. Of course there are players that are world class that we’d miss like VVD, Alisson or Salah so if they were all missing at the same time we’d suffer but not anywhere near as badly as you’re trying to make out.
Wishful thinking on your part I’m afraid mate.

{Ed025's Note - i dont know why you think i would wish that bobby..

15.) 09 Jan 2019 14:38:55
Bit of Ed25 bashing here! He is right, look at Liverpool's last 2 season's they have shown they are capable of only challenging on 1 front, not 2 or 3. Last season - UCL was the focus. This season - the prem, and they've done very well at different times.

I'd say we have maybe 8 "top" players IMO (Salah, Mane, Bobby, Alisson, VVD, Robbo, Gini + Fabinho) 8 "good" players (Hendo, Gomez, TAA, Keita, Shaqiri, Milner, Ox, Lovren) . The rest are average, very young, or terrible (not naming any names! )

16 top/ good players (when all are fit) does not make a good squad!

The last two years have seen a great improvement, but still a long way to go. Squads are built not bought! (Unless you are City! )

16.) 09 Jan 2019 20:05:42
I hate the argument that if you lose your best 1 or 2 players you are not as strong. that is as obvious as saying snow is white.
If any team lost VVD or Salah or Allison they would be severely weakened.
Monday was stupidity not lack of depth. it was reserves it was a load of kids away at a strong PL Team. and they lost 2.1.
Klopp put 1 or 2 other in, we win.

{Ed002's Note - It is more a matter of refraction. Snow is actually not unliske sugar, a pale transluscent violet.}

17.) 09 Jan 2019 20:18:07
If we were honest the only position we have any decent cover is in midfield where we play 3 players, and have Henderson, Milner, Gini, Shaq, Fabinho, Keita, Lallana and Ox (when fit) .

Our goalkeeper cover is Mignolet so I will leave it at that.
Defence cover includes Matip, Lovren and Moreno
Forward cover Sturridge, Origi
I would even say Uniteds bench is often better than ours. Let alone City’s.

18.) 11 Jan 2019 06:07:53
Same as polar bears, their fleece isn't actually white, it just reflects the colors around them.

01 Aug 2018 00:05:47
Barca apparently also interested in Migs for around £12.5m according to Sly.

To replace Cillessen, who's heading out.

Besiktas still also interested.

Will be enlightening to see if Migs wants game time or bench trophies.

Zeddicus

1.) 01 Aug 2018 01:57:53
Why does it have to be those options? I think its sad how we try to analyze athletes decisions these days.

2.) 01 Aug 2018 06:15:37
No one else seems to be in for Mignolet as a first choice. So I guess if he's going to No 2 somewhere, Barcelona is probably not a bad place to go - almost certain trophies, nice place to live, being reunited with ex-Liverpool teammates :-), etc.

3.) 01 Aug 2018 06:33:14
He will also get game time at Barcelona, he will play all the Copa Del Rey games and maybe even the champions league games. And as you say more than likely win trophies and live in a fantastic city. He won’t even make our bench next season so let’s just be happy for the guy and hope the move happens.

4.) 01 Aug 2018 07:16:12
Zed, not a huge fan of what you're implying there. Going to Barcelona, even as a back up, is a big deal and something to be proud of.

5.) 01 Aug 2018 07:24:38
I completely get where axed is coming from here guys. Word is that Migs wants out of lfc due to not being no1 - so how would going to Barcelona solve that?

And Putney it’s says a lot of a career highlight would be barely playing (if at all) for Barca.

He’s good enough to play for a mid table/ just below prem team. He’ll get good wages and actually play.

6.) 01 Aug 2018 07:34:13
Agreed 87.

7.) 01 Aug 2018 08:36:00
Just to clarify, Barcelona are a great team, but as 87 said, if Karius leaves, which I suspect he will, then Migs would be swapping our bench for Barca’s. Doesn’t make much sense.

He is good enough for other teams, especially more defensive ones, so if his complaint is lack of playing time, surely you’d expect to see him join one of those, either here or overseas, rather than warming Barca’s bench and getting the odd run out.

8.) 01 Aug 2018 08:37:30
Amazing how no one has mentioned money. Maybe he will get a big signing on fee and whopping weekly wages guaranteed for four or five years.

This could set him up for life to live in one of the most fantastic cities in the world. Doesn’t sound that bad to me. And maybe he’s happy to be second fiddle to achieve this.

Good luck to him - wish I had that type of luck!

9.) 01 Aug 2018 08:52:46
If he was going to a standard team to sit on the bench i would question it, but it IS Barcelona, not many people get the chance to play for them, so i wouldn't criticise him for going there.

I think you’re all missing the point. It’s up to Mignolet where he chooses to go. If he decides to go to Barcelona that’s up to him and all you’re doing is second guessing his reasons why. He’ll have his own reason for going to the team he does (if he does leave), there’s no way we can know for sure what they are.

11.) 01 Aug 2018 09:08:19
I’m not criticising him if he goes to Barca. Just pointing out it’s contrary to his apparent unhappiness of being a bench player.

12.) 01 Aug 2018 09:28:07
I'm with 87Red here, also not criticising, but does appear odd if his aim is 1st team starts.

13.) 01 Aug 2018 13:26:55
I think ya'll are playing a bit to much couch psychologist. If you have a chance to go to Barca, then go. It's ok to change your mind when you have new information.

14.) 01 Aug 2018 14:07:55
Have to say, the abuse and lack of respect reserved for our keepers is the one thing that has made me uncomfortable about being a Liverpool supporter over the last few years.

The (Kop lead) jeering and ironic cheers that could be heard in Anfield when both Karius and Migs were struggling was nothing short of shameful. I hope to God that Alisson doesn't start off poorly for us because the pressure we put our own keepers under will only end up one way.

I wish Migs all the best wherever he goes. Like every other Red who wore the jersey with honesty and sincerity, I hope he only gets better and regains the form that made us buy him in the first place.

15.) 01 Aug 2018 17:27:08
If I was Mignolet I’d go to Barca. Might not play as much, but medals make up for that. Plus with the political situation in Turkey it’s hardly the safest place in the world.

16.) 01 Aug 2018 22:29:58
Dudek did the same at Madrid. Had a decent career for them playing second fiddle. No shame in it imho.

17.) 02 Aug 2018 10:00:27
The other thing you have to remember is that there’s the chance of playing alongside some of the best players in the world and in Messi one of the greatest players to have graced the game, who would not want an opportunity for that. Also maybe the Barcelona fans might not give him grief constantly and with a different goalkeeping coach he may actually improve. Most Liverpool fans don’t want him at the club then bitch and moan when it looks like a move may happen. Best of luck to him I say.

New image uploaded to the
Liverpool Player Sightings page entitled, Yeah baby! Wouldn't it be cheaper to just use post it notes as those numbers will be changing a lot over the next few years?!

I have a plan. Take the 6 of the CL, turn upside down, to make a 19 of the league titles.

Take the 7 FA cups number and use for the 7th CL.

And use the 8 of the 18 leagues for our 8th FA cup win.

Sorted for the next year!

2.) 07 Jun 2019 21:22:25
Hanif, that’s just brilliant, you evil genius 😂.

Question for Ed001 and fellow reds.

We have been linked in the press with Bruno Fernandes and Nicolas Pepe, both of whom seem to be valued by their clubs at similar amounts - c£70m equivalent.

I've heard their names but not really seen them play.

Which one, in your opinion, would be a better prospect for us given the way Klopp likes to play and the positions they could therefore be asked to play in?

Zeddicus

{Ed001's Note - they are totally different players with totally different roles. Impossible to compare them.}

1.) 07 Jun 2019 10:00:09
Ah Ok, thanks Ed, as I said I haven’t seen them play.

Looking at reports of them (and wiki 🙈), I see that Fernandes is a midfielder and Pèpè a forward. So I presume, if we were in for them, they wouldn’t be an ‘either/ or’ from a playing position point of view.

In terms of what we need, and if we had to choose between them from a financial point of view, who would you prefer us to buy?

{Ed001's Note - Pepe.}

2.) 07 Jun 2019 15:23:09
Why ed.

{Ed001's Note - because Salah needs to be reminded that he is replaceable and to keep his feet on the ground.}

3.) 07 Jun 2019 17:05:44
nice.

What do you think of pepe. I posted earlier about my concerns but I really value your judgement on a player.

your about 8-0 on your recommendations recently. Like to hear this one.

{Ed001's Note - I have only seen a little of him, but every time he looks sharp and quick. A genuine threat to the opposition, with pace and skill.

Though I was thinking about it and maybe it would be just as good to target someone for the left so Mane could shift back to the right?}

4.) 07 Jun 2019 17:42:19
that's one of my concerns moving forward.

rotation wise, it's really only Salah who could go up top with pepe on the right. as neither would really suit us on the left, there not like sane.

brandt would of been perfect.

I think pepe could be perfect for pushing Salah, and provide us with really prepared cover if he did decide to move on next year. Be the most efficient we have ever been!

I don't want to get too much out of you and I'll limit myself to one more question and it's only because I'm so damn stressed about it and that's ndombele. Us ed or elsewhere?

{Ed001's Note - sadly elsewhere. I really like him as a player.}

5.) 07 Jun 2019 20:26:24
I did say I wouldn't ask more but.

is it spurs?

him and fabinho would be a dream!

ah well.

{Ed001's Note - I don't know where he is off to be honest. Not off the top of my head.}

6.) 07 Jun 2019 20:53:39
no worries.

thanks for the chat boss. speak soon!

{Ed001's Note - very welcome Kb take care mate.}

Studge and Moreno confirmed as leaving.

Good luck boys, and thanks!

Zeddicus

1.) 04 Jun 2019 17:53:21
Absolutely, hope they get the right move for them.
Studge in his pomp was top drawer, without the niggaling injuries he could of had many many more goals for club and country.
Southampton, West Ham? feel like the right level for him as first choice.
Hope he gets back to his best.

2.) 04 Jun 2019 18:04:01
Thanks for the memories lads. Hope you find another club that will love you. YNWA.

3.) 04 Jun 2019 18:19:07
Well Said "Zed"! Studge finished last season on loan at West Brom, Shaqiri was relegated with Stoke, and Divock was on a season long loan at Wolfsburg? Shaq must be Bemused! Relegation to Euro Cup Winner!

Wonder how Coutinho and Emre Can feel?

4.) 04 Jun 2019 18:26:56
I echo zed, Moreno and studge have sat on the bench and not complained and I will always remember that season when studge was on fire. I'm just stoked that they both left with a medal and boy what a medal. Thank you boys, it's well deserved.

5.) 04 Jun 2019 18:36:40
Both have been very classy off the pitch so deserve our respect, I'm glad they were part of the team who won the CL and got their medals. Good luck to them in the future but I can't help but saying I'm happy about this, they were never going to play for us again, unfortunately Sturridge just wasn't good enough after his injuries which is such a bloody shame because he had it all at one point. Moreno has never been good enough, especially since Robbo came in but I have no doubt he can have a decent career elsewhere.

They can hold their heads up now and say they were part of the best team in Europe! something they'll never forget.

YNWA lads.

6.) 04 Jun 2019 19:04:46
Wonder how Coutinho and Emre Can feel?
=========================

I think they might be content with a couple of league titles and domestic cups . I think 4 trophies each so far .

7.) 04 Jun 2019 19:17:00
Who is looking likely for both players Ed?

{Ed001's Note - no idea, I would guess Moreno will go back home to Sevilla as he never wanted to leave in the first place.}

8.) 04 Jun 2019 19:25:59
Hi Roy, Top in your "OWN" country is not as good as European Cup Winners, were you beat 29 other "COUNTRY's" Teams! (27 in EU and Russia and Turkey makes 29).

Also EUFA agree with above as Premier League Winners relegated to Pot Two, and Euro Winners Pot One! Ask for a rule change and you won't get it?

9.) 04 Jun 2019 20:29:49
Studge best memories chip against Everton and last seasons goal vs Chelsea. Morenos watching a last ditch tackle through the gap in my fingers. Good luck boys.

10.) 04 Jun 2019 22:01:14
all the best to those 2. two of the few who have been through the transition of the past few years. What we'll never know is the contribution they make behind the scenes around the club, dressing room, in training etc. wish them both all the best.

11.) 04 Jun 2019 22:03:43
Gray Reader how you think Sturridge could play for west ham or Southampton is beyond me. I think Sturridge is finished yeah he had 1 good season for us and that is it. And to say both players have been classy on the bench who would not be picking up there wages. can't say a bad word about Moreno. but Sturridge the funny thing is no long injury's on the season he is out of contract. And my lasting memorys of him is the Wolves game in the FA cup what should have been the last time he played for us just walking around the pitch sulking but then he had the game against utd, what was a joke Rashford was injurd and still run more than him. Never been so happy to see a player leave us. And I all way stuck up for him in the past but the last 3 years there is no sticking up for him. He started the season off well but once he new he was not getting a new contract that was it.

12.) 05 Jun 2019 01:17:44
Sturridge's goal against Chelsea may have been the goal of the season. Great memories from some great people. Good luck fellas!

Does anyone know when the tickets will be released for the Community Shield?

As its at Wembley its a opportunity to see us play without 4-5 hours travel each way!

Zeddicus

1.) 04 Jun 2019 13:49:08
Do we play the charity shield as city won both the league and fa cup? . I thought it would be wolves who plays.

2.) 04 Jun 2019 14:09:51
If a team wins both Robbie, then it is the team that comes runner up in the league that get the other place.

3.) 04 Jun 2019 15:36:48
Why Wolves Robbiesline? did I miss something

(Is that a white line by the way:)

4.) 04 Jun 2019 17:11:23
Roy, Robbie was "eating the grass" ;-)

01 Jun 2019 16:02:57
Speaking of superstitions (earlier post), I vowed, after last years final, not to shower again until we won the trophy.

All my family, friends, work colleagues and most people in my postcode are also hoping and praying for a Liverpool win tonight!

You're welcome 😊.

That’s a fair point 6Times. I wasn’t saying Asensio will happen, or that I want it to.

My point is only that whether or not a player is a starter for another team has absolutely no bearing on how he will perform for us.

If Klopp and the team think he can get us from 2nd to 1st, that’s good enough for me.

He was when he arrived, Epic. I agree he would imbalance our team now, but we picked up someone who wasn’t getting regular game time at Milan for £8m and turned him into a £120m+ player.

So just because someone can’t get into another bit teams’s starting lineup, doesn’t mean he won’t excel at Liverpool.

Frankly is a good shout, the grammar is too good for Harry.

I haven’t watched Cornet, Brewster, Wilson it Kent play regularly, so if Klopp and the team value Cornet more highly than Kent or Wilson, who are we to argue?

It’s not like it’s David Moore’s and Rick Parry saying it, is it?!?!

Klopp has shown so far that if he thinks a player is good enough, they will play - see TAA and Gomez as examples. If he doesn’t, they won’t - see the others as examples.

Don’t see why people like Frankly need to come across as such supposed experts, when it’s just a little bit douchey!

I do kinda agree with Waro here.

A full back to challenge both of ours - Firpo maybe? A and a versatile attacker who can challenge the front 3 and provide a no 10 option - Fekir or Pepe (albeit he’s less of no 10).

Then just youth like Sepp and Elliot and others is fine.
