Heya ed2, hope you are well today, I'm sure you'd love to make some of these requests diasappear (just like all blemishishes with a few careful applications of Thera-blem) but I was wondering if you had any thoughts on creating any sharkopods in the near future? I appreciate you are a very busy man and the work that goes into it is immense (and worth it because they are hilarious) . I know you said a while ago it was a no go, if that's still the case, a total shame but I completely understand why.

aoe

{Ed002's Note - There is no plan to provide any more Sharkopods.}

1.) 18 May 2018 11:45:20
Ah fair enough ed, thanks for the reply. Hope you have a good weekend.

{Ed002's Note - Thanks, and you.}

2.) 18 May 2018 11:45:31
Ed2 that’s a shame is it bec of abusive members things have changed? Remember not long ago you said we would be first on the list for sharkpod.

{Ed002's Note - The reasons are unimportant Adam.}

3.) 18 May 2018 12:05:53
Ed2 are you looking forward to the champions league final?

{Ed002's Note - I am not going to go and have had no other thoughts on it really.}

4.) 18 May 2018 15:35:22
In your line of work ed would you have been able to get tickets?

{Ed002's Note - Yes, we some tickets.}

5.) 18 May 2018 16:33:21
But Ed002 where will I get my fix of retro obscure music clips now?!

{Ed002's Note - I will continue to answer questions about non transfer related matters - including music Triangle.}

6.) 19 May 2018 09:34:36
Could you provide us with a recommended music playlist Ed then? I enjoyed the obscure music on the Sharkopod and sorry that yo7 no longer want to get involved with transfer info as your knowledge was one of the reasons that makes this site so good. Anyway take it easy and hope you’re well.

{Ed002's Note - I will give you a few appropriate song for the day as you ask. As there is a Royal wedding today, that will see the bond between the English and German nations strengthen, you will no doubt by on tenderhooks until you get to see Ms Merkel's wonderful dress. Apparently, although marrying a prince, she will not be called Princess Angela. So "tenderhooks" makes me think of The Barbarians' "Moulty", the story of their one handed drummer, and that would be a good starting point. Thinking of young Prince Hal's bride to be, perhaps The Lollipop Shoppe (who were managed by an old buddy of mine) playing "You Must Be a Witch" could keep the tempo up as you swoon at the beauty of Ms Merkel on her wedding day. If you follow the English tradition of consuming ale all the way through the wedding, and then through the FA cup final, by the end of the day you will no doubt be hearing "Voices Green and Purple", as recorded by The Bees.}

7.) 19 May 2018 18:14:55
Great band The Bees. Salute Mr Ed 02 👍🏻.

He's one to take our minds off the match last night. But of fun really. Does anyone have any misguided beliefs about football players, managers, teams etc that are fairly ridiculous that no one has ever ever agreed with and despite you knowing the truth, your mind just can't be changed, come on, all of us do. eg- Ramos is a fantastic player with a bad rep. Come on folks, own up and open yourselves to criticisms. Would love to hear any Ed's takes as well. Ugh I'll go first and here's hoping, this isn't a useless one post post. No matter what anyone says, Zidane is the greatest player to ever play the game. EVER. I'm sorry, I grew up with maradonna and watched pele but nobody blew we away like what that lad did with the ball. It doesn't matter that he was a lunatic, it doesn't matter that he missed most of France 98- he still singlehandedly won the World Cup and everything for Real Madrid after. (I could be wrong)

aoe

1.) 04 Jan 2019 12:13:35
Zidane is NO Maradona. In fact, Zidane's idol is Enzo Francescoli (Uruguayan legend) who played at OM (Zidane's hometown team) and even he was not a patch on Maradona. Maradona won a WC with unknown players whikle Zidane won a WC with players like Marcel Desailly, Patrick Vieira, Youri Djorkaeff, Rob Pires Laurent Blanc etc.

You also talk about Zidane winning it all with RM. Maradona is the reason you even know where Napoli is on the Italian map. It's not even close BUT love the debate.

2.) 04 Jan 2019 12:26:31
Zidane wasn’t even the best player of his generation. That accolade goes to the real Ronaldo. Zidane vs Maradona? Are you kidding me? Maradona won a World Cup and two league titles with average teams around him. When did Zidane ever do that?

3.) 04 Jan 2019 12:41:48
You guys make excellent points, I’m not debating that everyone is right and I am completely wrong. I just worshipped that guy as a player and can’t see pst the emotion of France 98. You can hit all the accurate facts at me and I’ll be like “yep, still think he’s the greatest though”. My hope is for other posters here to throw their own misguided beliefs into the fray.

4.) 04 Jan 2019 13:00:38
Spot on, Swisch. You should hear what Zidane himself, has to say about Big Ron, himself. When Clarence Seedorf (who played with Ronaldo at Inter and AC Milan) is telling you that Big Ron is the best player he had ever seen in his illustrious career, then you know what's up.

5.) 04 Jan 2019 14:08:47
The best player ever is non other than our very own Robbie Fowler.

6.) 04 Jan 2019 15:17:22
No qualms there, aoe. Love your posts btw, bro.

7.) 04 Jan 2019 16:01:37
Cheers redwolf, ha! You got it Walter, nice one mate. Totally disagree with you though!

04 Jan 2019 08:48:05
We're going to win the league, city look a shadow of the team they were and were it not for our own ineptitute to play our game we would be in a better position come this morning. As it is, despite the frustration, I'm more interested in seeing our reaction to the loss. Better now than in the run in. We've had an amazing December and I look forward to an incredible season moving forward. I didn't come on here last night and I'm wary to read all the obligatory negative posts because it's actually alright to lose a match in a season. I hate to lose any game but this wasn't a win or nothing for us, it was for them and they just about did it, city were excellent at what they did but were there for the taking up to the last ten mins in my opinion. We learn and we get better. Ynwa #believe.

aoe

1.) 04 Jan 2019 09:01:39
Aoe I agree it’s ok to lose but it’s also ok to give credit where credit is due and for you to say City are a shadow of the team and the only reason we lost was because of our own ineptitude screams bitterness. Last night was a fantastic spectacle (although not always the greatest quality) but both teams played their part in that. City might have won the battle but we can still win the war.

2.) 04 Jan 2019 09:03:22
Agreed with me mate, I mean you, us, whatever we are! ;) .

The way I look at it is, we're the ones still laughing even after a loss. It could've gone either way last night, unfortunately it went against us. I was really gutted but it happens, overall I think of how well we've done so far and I'm delighted with that. God help Brighton because we're going to come back with a bang and give quite a few teams a good seeing to.

3.) 04 Jan 2019 09:27:15
Saloe, you really need to stop repeat commenting on your own threads its getting tiresome ;)

We have only dropped 7 points all season, we are 100% against teams outside the top four, keep that form up and we will need three points in total from the Utd, Spurs and chelsea games. and we would win the league by a point no matter what city do.

I am not saying for a second the above will happen but it is still in our hands.

4.) 04 Jan 2019 09:35:14
As an individual match-up we have more than matched City previpus years but not been anywhere near them on the table. Prem winner is best team after 38 games, not a 2-legged tie againat our closest rivals.

5.) 04 Jan 2019 10:01:11
I can see only one outcome. Come May Hendo holding aloft the prem trophy. We’re quality. Looking forward to seeing Gomez back asap.

6.) 04 Jan 2019 10:03:30
Nobody should be surprised with the way City played. for them, this was do or die. They played with the desperation that the game seemed to them. On the other hand, we approached the game with the right attitude and people can argue about the mistakes made and all that, the fact remains that City made mistakes as well and got lucky in the key moments that mattered in the game like Kompany not seeing red (seen red given for less challenges) on Salah, Sane's shot going in off the post and Mane's shot off the post and out, 11mm prevented us from taking the lead etc. ) . It was a very even game and City edged it cos they were at home.

All in all, we are still in the BEST position going forward. The PL season would not have been over had we won either so nothing changed really and make no mistake about it, City would rather be in our position BUT they are NOT so things are still looking up. The hope now is that we react positively to this bump in the road in our next game.

7.) 04 Jan 2019 10:46:19
Redwolf nobody should be surprised at how City played because they are a world class side with top top players and are currently defending league champions. Anyone swear they are in a relegation fight saying they played with desperation. We are also showing this season that we are a world class side with top top players. Sadly over 90 minutes City got the 3 points. The sign of the best sides is how they react to defeat and that will be the next challenge for our team.

8.) 04 Jan 2019 10:27:24
I’m not bitter at all, all apologies if that came across. I’m delighted with the team so far but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t add critique where it’s due. We just didn’t play well, moreover, had it been city of last year we could have been beaten comfortably but we weren’t. I didn’t say we were inept mate, I said we were inept in our ability to play our game. We can do far better and failed. I’m not blaming klopp, I’m not playing players, it just happens. My point was that I feel it was ourselves and not city who made us play as we did. Maybe I should have rephrased it because it was intended to be a positive post.

9.) 04 Jan 2019 10:58:56
Aoe no worries mate and my reply wasn’t a dig at you. I just believe City should be given credit for the win. I’m sure there’s lots of teams we have beaten this season believe we were lucky against them (Everton for 1) or maybe suggest we are a shadow of the team last season. What counts at the final whistle is who takes the 3 points and sadly we didn’t get them last night. I’m sure Klopp will have the lads good to go for Brighton in just over a weeks time.

10.) 04 Jan 2019 11:18:16
Hopefully mate, I’d start to worry about our mentality if we don’t put in a good performance in the next couple matches. I really think whatever team playes wolves gets the win.

11.) 04 Jan 2019 12:21:10
JK23, I agree with you. You are aware that you can be a world class team and still be desperate at the same time, right? The reason they were desperate was that they knew that a) we could beat them and b) it would be a disaster if they lost, according to them. Remember that Pep spent the whole time leading up to the game, convincing his team and himself that they were a class team. Why would he do that? Cos he and his team were very short of confidence and it showed. This is why they dropped of late in the game cos they were terrified of conceding and had they conceded at that moment, all hell would have broken loose on them.

As per whether we played well or not, Ed01 said that maybe cos we knew a point was a good result, we did not go all gong ho and I agree with that. The plan was to stifle them and then go from there which we did very well cos City had one shot on target in the first half (Aguero's freak goal) and David Silva was shut down. We were never out of the game and in fact had we been luckier in some areas, we could have won BUT that's football. We have to react and we will see what happens.

12.) 04 Jan 2019 13:03:55
In 2014, we beat city 3-2 in a game much closer to the end of the season, they lifted the title.

In 2009, we whipped Utd 4-1 towards the end of the season, they lifted the title.

Winning the match against your closest rival can be a boost and plus in so many ways. But the league title won by being the team that collect most points.

I can see us going on another winning streak. I can also see city dropping more points.

We are still the team in the strongest position to win this.

13.) 04 Jan 2019 13:05:16
As i said a week or so ago, people need to reign this arrogance in. Leagues aren't won this early. We have no option but to play him but lovren is a joke of a player and definitely not in the haha sense, two mistakes in a row now and finally it's cost us.

Right now, feels good. Could go all wrong, but hey, a boy can dream.

{Ed0333's Note - you won’t have to dream for long mate soon it’s gonna be a reality.

Haven't had any time to be able to get on the site properly the last while let alone post but I couldn't not post today after learning of the most devastating news, Salah mate, me and my family are thinking of you. Get well soon. I wish there were more words to say but I'm in a state of shock. You'll never walk alone mate.

Any reviews on the preseason games would be appreciated. I haven't seen any and would love to get peoples thoughts. I know they mean little but completely out of the loop as to how we are setting up and which youth are getting mins. Cheers folks.

aoe

1.) 25 Jul 2018 14:56:08
All they are is training exercises really, not much point doing any kind of review.

2.) 25 Jul 2018 15:26:26
I agree but any thoughts on how players are looking amd such from any posters here would be very much appreciated.

3.) 25 Jul 2018 15:39:50
General consensus from posters who have watched the matches (I haven't I'm afraid) is that:

1) Keita looks great, a real beast in midfield and seems to be well suited to play the No 10 role if needed, albeit Klopp sees him more as a No 8.

2) Curtis Jones has really surprised, looking very good for a 17 yo.

3) Sturridge has been looking sharp, our best threat last game, and seems to have bulked up a bit.

4.) 25 Jul 2018 15:49:33
Cheers zed mate.

5.) 25 Jul 2018 17:09:01
No probs aoe/ Salah (whichever identity you are wearing today ;-)

6.) 25 Jul 2018 17:30:22
Aoe, fab looks very solid mate. Keeps the shape well and puts his body in the way if needed.

Sturridge has looked sharp, links well with keita.

Robbo and van djke seem to have built a good partner ship on that left side.

Keita is really good aoe, I never realised he was so skillful. I knew he was energetic but man. I think he's a better player than kante, easily BTW.

Lallana hasn't looked great. Not at his 2016/ 2017 form. But better than last year.

Moreno looks okay and so does Clyne.

Dunno what else I've noticed.
Markovic looks like shaqiri with long hair.

7.) 25 Jul 2018 17:39:05
Cheers zed/ robbiejames. From me, the one and only aoe. Oops what account am I on? ;)

8.) 25 Jul 2018 17:41:56
Both aoe and salah wish to thank you all for your info. It is very much appreciated.

9.) 25 Jul 2018 17:50:39
Some people are going to be so confused.

10.) 25 Jul 2018 18:00:00
Serves them right for not following the site religiously every day, doesn't it Salaoe? ;-)

11.) 25 Jul 2018 18:06:11
That’s Harry’s new name right there.

12.) 25 Jul 2018 18:26:01
That’s Harry’s new name right there.

13.) 25 Jul 2018 18:34:32
Hoi!

That's my line!

:D.

14.) 25 Jul 2018 18:46:33
Hahaha I knew I'd be seeing that username post soon lol!

15.) 25 Jul 2018 18:56:57
Curtis Jones played well in the short time I watched him, definitely agree with that. It would be nice to see some of these lads get more game time next season.

{Ed025's Note - not much chance though adam..

16.) 25 Jul 2018 19:42:57
A few thoughts

- of last seasons senior players, Robbo, VVD and Sturridge have probably been the pick, with Sturridge in particular seeming to be trying to drop a bit deeper and becoming more of a playmaker (like Firmino did for us at various times last season) . maybe he can resurrect his career at Liverpool yet?
- Lallana has had flashes and looks to be getting up to speed still
- of the new boys, both have impressed. Keita has just looked awesome, an absolute power house. Fabinho has been a bit more understated but looks in supreme control when on the ball
- Of the youngsters, Curtis Jones has looked fantastic in midfield, mature beyond his years. Camacho has also impressed out wide. The others have had flashes but also made mistakes. none are quite ready yet IMO and suspect all will be looking at loans before being ready?
- Probably most disappointing for me have been Origi and Solanke who look a bit off the pace still and not particularly dangerous (again probably meaning Sturridge may stick around? ), perhaps a bit harsh on Solanke as he’s at least been in the right positions but looks like he needs goals

I think we have yet to hit our stride with lots of subs being made and lots of juniors on the pitch at any one time, so it’s mostly been about building touch and fitness, but I think it’s been OK so far with Keita a shining light. Main question mark is how we feel about going into the season with Sturridge and Solanke backing up Firmino given a) fitness and b) lack of form respectively.

17.) 25 Jul 2018 19:53:55
They are glorified training sessions. Having said that, Keita is much better than I thought even tho I watched him a tonne at RBL last season. Fab is just terrific. Back 4? Solid and Studge looks pretty hungry.

{Ed025's Note - hungry until he gets a new deal brover, then he will be out for 3 months with a headache..

18.) 25 Jul 2018 18:13:57
If salah opened an account under aeo. That could become v confusing.

19.) 25 Jul 2018 23:53:12
Keita looks like a proper player 👍.

In fairness, I think Markovic was an exceptional talent misused by the club and bought a few years before he was ready. For me it all went wrong after that red card in the champions league. Don’t think Rogers wanted to play him after that. Great haircut though.
