Well that moved very quickly! Not really seen much of Allison so fingers crossed it's a good move for everybody. So which one do we sell out of Ward and Karius or do we think they are going to be festering with the rest of our bloated squad or the loan list.
Gutted for the Ox and for us. He'll be missed. Fingers crossed he makes a full recovery.

Apparently Allison has the potential to be world class, 1 season with our goalkeeping coaches and he should drop down to our usual standard of keeper ;0)

17 Jul 2018 22:14:32
Just read that Chelsea are interested in Kasper Schmeichel. He's always looked a decent keeper to me, solid and assured. Would be a cheaper alternative to Allison.

Hope they sign him, might score another ghost goal.

Ok so i've clearly missed a something, have we no longer got Ed002 contributing to the site and what's kicked it all off?

NorthYorkshireRed

1.) 27 Apr 2018 21:53:18
The news about Rangers wanting Gerrard, Ed002 gave his opinion on Gerrard, some didn’t like it and reacted badly.
I missed the majority of it but saw the first few replies.

2.) 27 Apr 2018 23:19:42
They just won't go away. I hate whenever this happens.

3.) 27 Apr 2018 23:48:05
Some people can’t see past Gerrard the player the captain the legend. Gerrard the person is a different story. I’ve met the man and he was an absolute cock. Ed02 has been abused for saying as much and Gerrard the manager who knows. I think Ed02s point was it’d be a big risk by Rangers to appoint a man with zero experience at senior level. Ill admit the way Ed02 put it was aggressive but personally I found it funny. Unfortunately some took it personally and want him/ her strung up. Sometimes I find Ed’s view point on all things LFC hard to swallow but it’s just an opinion stop taking it so personally.

4.) 28 Apr 2018 00:19:06
I didn't see all that much Ron tbh.

I only saw one reply from ed002.

I can understand people saying it was a bit of a harsh reply, i did think at face value it was pretty brutal, but I think what everyone needs to grasp is how many slanderous, abhorrent posts we as general readers fail to see, or even weigh into the equation. We, for the most part, assume that what we see is all that has been posted, but without doubt so many stinking, abusive posts/ replies have been censored/ deleted/ edited before even contemplating putting them up for the rest of us to read.

The guy does this just for a hobby, or maybe because he feels we as fans have a right to accurate information. He certainly doesn't do this for any kind of financial benefit.

Theres no doubt that ed002 is a no bullsh*t kind of guy, but his information is absolutely invaluable to this site and if any one of us were to have to do his job, i'm pretty sure all of us would have bad days etc.

{Ed0333's Note - like you said mate Ed’s 002 is like everyone else on the planet he has good days and bad ones. I know when I’m editing and I’m not so chipper the moronic posts get exacerbated and they can get pretty annoying. I’m pretty fortunate compared to the abuse Ed’s 002 gets. Let me recap what other Ed’s and posters have said. Ed’s 002 is probably the best and most accurate football source on social media/internet, and he’s free. He has regularly called transfers weeks before anyone else and has done this time and time again over the years. Why would you be stupid enough to jeopardize this priceless resource? You are looking a gift horse in the mouth! I remember I was in Ibiza a years ago and Eds 002 was telling us for a few days that Brenda was gonna be fired after the Everton game, before anyone else. I was relaying this to my friends who were just laughing at me and the football rumours website because they just thought it was all hearsay and conjecture. So were at a club called DC10 dancing away and I get a text from my brother in law saying Rogers has been sacked, I showed this text to my friends and I had the last laugh, what a great feeling that was dancing the night away knowing Brendan Rogers was history. My point is we have a massive advantage over other resources on the internet and you won’t know what you got till it’s gone. You may feel I’m being a drama queen but when you have to get your transfer rumours from the Daily Fail, Cretin-Talk, Twitter and Talkshite you’ll appreciate Eds002.

5.) 28 Apr 2018 08:33:36
I totally agree with Scootinio.
“Stop taking it so personally”.
Gerrard was a fantastic player for us but for the majority of us that is all we know.
He could be a great guy, he could be a horrible guy. Some people like him, some people will hate him. That’s the way of the world and is true for most people.
Ed002 has an opinion and it is usually more informed than the rest of us. I don’t care whether he wants Gerrards babies or whether he wants him exiled to Antarctica. I will always appreciate Gerrard’s football contributions and I will keep an open mind about him as a person until I can judge for myself.

6.) 28 Apr 2018 10:11:43
Yea, fair play ed. I too have been a source of info to my mates directly relaying from ed002's knowledge and I look like mystic meg to them. I tell them all about you guys but they still keep buying the same old rubbish off the shelves. I hope he can forgive the nonsense (mine included) and keep doing what he's been doing so well.

On a side, I do enjoy the way you can sum up a moment, 0333. A rousing speech or an echoed sentiment, it always makes me smile.

7.) 28 Apr 2018 07:50:02
Ed 333, were u off ya nut?! Dc10 was quality!

{Ed0333's Note - let me just say there was lots of love in the air that nite mate.

Question for ed2 if you're about although I'll understand if you don't want to answer/ post.
I'm reading the article on Swiss Ramble on Liverpool's finanaces from last year and it talks about FSG converting the clubs debt to them into equity. My question is how does this work? Does FSG basically just use the money owed to aquire more shares of the club or is it more complicated than that?
I would be interested in your answer but again I understand money isn't a topic you like to cover so no worries if you don't.
Really interesting article Reds I recommend it if you haven't already seen it but it's a bit dated now.

NorthYorkshireRed

{Ed002's Note - it means that the club has increased in value to a sufficient level that they would be converting what they are owed in to part of their shareholding and not chasing the debt. It is tax efficient.}

1.) 19 Mar 2018 10:58:05
Hi Ed002,

Firstly, thank you for your continued insight into the finances of the game. Have you managed to sort out your living situation yet or are you still bouncing from one place to another?

Out of curiosity, how would them capitalizing their debt into equity result in a tax saving? I thought the benefit of debt was that the interest payments would be tax deductible (providing they meet transfer pricing and interest deductibility rules) where as equity gives no such tax benefit.

Red Sandman.

{Ed002's Note - The owners are not making interest payments, they are in theory able to take them but in practice have been accruing the interest. By turning their debt in to equity they will not be liable for tax on the interest which they have been accruing. Plus the club has starting increasing their debt again and it will allow them to borrow more from third parties.

I am a few weeks away from the new home and am in Israel at present - if the weather improves in England we will return and likely use a property one of my wives has, or else I still have property in Monaco that I could use. So we are getting there thanks.}

Thanks for the response ed.

Here's one to distract from the coutinho saga. I was having a discussion with the lads at work and we were deciding on an all time premiership 11. As none of us wished to put Gary Neville at rb we were stuck on a replacement. I can't think of many great rbs of the premiership era, we discussed Lauren of the Arsenal invincibles, zabaleta, rob jones, Ivanovic, lee Dixon and arbeloa. I'd be interested to hear any thoughts and suggestions and also if any of the Eds wished to weigh in feel free.
In case anyone is interested

GK Schmeichel
RB?
CB T. Adams
CB Stamm
LB A. Cole
RM Ronaldo
CM Scholes/ Gerrard
CM Viera/ Makelele
LW Bale
ST Shearer
ST Henry

Look forward to hearing your thoughts.

1.) 08 Aug 2017 22:03:34
schmeichel
neville desailly terry cole
makele/ keane
gerrard viera
ronaldo surez henry.

2.) 08 Aug 2017 22:07:34
Love him or loathe him G Nev was one of the best RB the prem has seen so I would swallow the pride there . Coleman would be a decent alternative though.

I also wouldn't have bale in the team, Suarez, giggs, hazard. I'd put all these before him to name a few.

3.) 08 Aug 2017 22:12:05
GK Schmeichel
RB Finnan
CB Terry
CB Stam
LB A. Cole
RM Ronaldo
CM Gerrard
CM Viera
LW Bale
ST Shearer/ Henry
ST Fowler/ Suarez.

{Ed025's Note - finnan????...your having a giraffe mate..

4.) 08 Aug 2017 22:17:06
In a 4-3-3:
Cech
Neville
Terry
Ferdinand
Cole
Gerrard
Makalele
Viera
Ronaldo
Shearer
Henry.

5.) 08 Aug 2017 22:21:33
Marcus Babbel for right back 👍.

{Ed025's Note - come on ron...it was a serious question..

6.) 08 Aug 2017 22:24:27
Denis Irwin.

7.) 08 Aug 2017 22:35:34
Probably Zabaleta.

Also have none of you people heard of Ryan Giggs, or is it just anti-united bias?

8.) 08 Aug 2017 22:38:15
Dani Alves ohh yeah sorry pep fooled ya ;-)

9.) 08 Aug 2017 22:52:17
Seriously no one has Lampard in the team?

Schmeichel
Gnev hyppia sol Campbell cole
Gerrard. Scholes. Lampard
Ronaldo. Henry
Shearer.

10.) 08 Aug 2017 23:24:12
Right back. errrrr rob Jones? By far the best right back the prem has ever seen.

11.) 09 Aug 2017 15:22:42
Something Red, how is it United bias half of mine and my other peoples teams are filled with United players. If it makes you feel better Fergie would probably be the manager of an all time Prem team as well.

12.) 09 Aug 2017 15:21:55
I'm ashamed of you all that it took until Mr Elf's intervention for anyone to mention Rob Jones! Had injury not cruelly curtailed his career, Gary Nev would've have had as many England Football Team caps as his sister Tracey!

Oh, and God has to be in the team too. The most natural finisher this fair land has ever seen. Playing a 4-3-3 with him, Henry and Suarez (or Ronaldo or Bale) would kill most defences.

It always confuses me that window after window our asking price seems too high for Markovic and others. Just get rid, we’re still going to be paying wages regardless of a loan I assume so let them go and try and resurrect their careers.

Agree with Zeddicus on this one. Depending on the costs involved it could be a good move for a year. It wouldn’t just be the goalkeepers that would have something to learn from Buffons wealth of experience, the defence, attackers and on big games he has experience with pressure that many of the current squad have not experienced (although they may have an insight at the end of this month! )

Cheers Carra.
What happened to Flannagan, I remember him playing under Kenny, he looked like he would be a solid defender for a years to come.

I heard that in order to accommodate both migs and karius they will both be deployed on the goal line making it 2-3-5-4 formation. The future is bright lads.

Bobby is ok? Wtf dude Bobby is the lynchpin that holds the pressing together. Find me a ‘world class’ striker with as many turn overs as him with the same chances created, assists and goals. And which one would be happy to warm our bench? Firmino with the above qualities and his influence in Alisson’s decision to sign or your new world class striker?

Just the one replacement? I demand two. These owners need to start investing in this squad or sell us to someone who will. FSG out.

Not sure Beckham should be on that list. Fantastic delivered of the ball and made the most of his talents but he didn’t have half the ability of the other three. Lampard again made the most of his talents, Scholes was imo the better technically and Gerrard had the most talent of the three even if he didn’t become the player he could have been.
