Eds do you know if we have any interest in Ben Wilmot? the 19 year old CB at Stevenage?

Kloppers

{Ed002's Note - I had been told (but took no notice) that a move to Watford could be agreed for the kid. With Liverpool's transfer ban I am not sure how they could complete the transfer right now. Certainly Spurs were interested as well.}

1.) 12 Apr 2018 09:54:38
When is the ban over?

{Ed002's Note - April 2019 although they can sign players this coming summer if there are (a) no open charges, (b) no further infractions, and (c) the club can demonstrate that they made the payments that they were committed to.}

2.) 12 Apr 2018 11:17:30
I really hope this ban was a wake up call to Liverpool, no one can try and brush over what we did. It was wrong!

But I hope not only does this reform how we are to young players but that it is a lesson to all clubs. Kids aren’t just assets to buy they need to be treated as proper humans!

3.) 12 Apr 2018 11:07:24
Thanks Ed!

4.) 12 Apr 2018 13:06:49
So he can sign in the summer then.

{Ed002's Note - As I said, if there are (a) no open charges, (b) no further infractions, and if (c) the club can demonstrate that they made the payments that they were committed to. This of course if Liverpool are interested.}

Well done to Joe Gomez being called up to the England senior team well deserved.

Kloppers

1.) 02 Nov 2017 14:42:34
Credit to him and to Klopp for showing faith in him. Hopefully, this will do massive good for his confidence going forward.

2.) 02 Nov 2017 15:13:20
Shame he'll play 90 minutes both games and get injured but other than that awesome news.

3.) 02 Nov 2017 15:16:53
Hijkle, come on, man. A bit of positivity would definitely help right now.

4.) 02 Nov 2017 15:20:49
Always one. Well done to the lad.

5.) 02 Nov 2017 16:26:15
Is it as a rb or cb or cover for both I wonder.

6.) 02 Nov 2017 16:44:10
Starting at CB GS has said. Oh and well done Hiijkle you just couldn't leave it.

7.) 02 Nov 2017 18:15:03
yeah well done gomes. fair play. ease up on hiijkle, if he were called up for Trinidad then we would all be worrying about his fitness after the internationals. hiijkle is not the first person to worry about our players getting injured on international duty, it happens every time.

when you look at the competition at cb for England there isn't an overwhelming amount of quality. cahill and jones, smalling and gomes, that's about it.

Ed01 just wanted to ask something did you notice that when we had the ball we switched to a back three? Moreno pushed to up into midfield and Gomez slotted in kind of a RCB/ RDM and had the most touches of the ball I believe at 123? he fizzed a lot of balls into midfield to get the attack going do you think this could be something Klopps worked on to sure up the defence because if we do get counted one of our fullbacks is not halfway up the pitch? I think Brendan did the same thing at some point with emre Can didn't he in a back three when we had the ball he would step forward and fizz the ball forward as much as he could.

Kloppers

{Ed001's Note - yes I did mention it in the match review I did. I think it is how we should have been playing a long time ago, should never commit both fullbacks to the attack imo. As for what Brendan did, it was a back 3, just a standard back 3.}

1.) 30 Oct 2017 08:42:23
Agreed if you play a more attacking fullback in Moreno, you need the other to sit and let Moreno maraud on the other side he does seem to be a good out ball for us I know he is prone to a error here or there but he has been decent this season and seems to help the team with width, makes you think why Robertson was signed in the first place.

2.) 31 Oct 2017 09:32:45
I saw that too and so did the commentators. I think Klopp may have found something out here as in a way, it keeps the same amount of bodies forward and leaves us more secure at the back with three CBs and a DM hence, more defensive players when teams counter us. However IMO, this may only work if Gomez plays at RB cos Clyne or TAA may have issues doing that. Hopefully Klopp will stick with this especially when we play vs better teams.

One thing I will say Karius couldn't do anything about the two goals but a few times he came out and punched the ball clear and got the distance needed on the punches so we could reset in defence I would go with him against Burnley and give him a run of games Migs has had his chance for 3 years straight.

Kloppers

1.) 14 Sep 2017 13:20:58
Agreed. Unfortunately every time Karius plays he never has any shots to "save" so we never really get to see that side of him.
Absolutely nothing he could do about both goals. Hope he plays at the weekend, with the same back four. I'm with 001 and 002, these players will never get better ( matip Moreno klavan an lovren) so the only thing I can think is consecutively play them and HOPEFULLY they can start cutting out the brain farts.

2.) 14 Sep 2017 13:29:11
We will know on Friday who starts against Burnley. My money is on Mignolet! Did he not say Migs would play in the league and Karius in CL?

Just want to say big props to Juan Mata just read on bleacher report that he is going to donate 1% of his wages to charity I know its only 1% but its still a good sum of money, he is going to try and convince others to do the same in football, Mats Hummels has already started.

Kloppers

1.) 06 Sep 2017 10:07:19
A noble endeavour no doubt, will be interesting to see what percentage of money raised is actually invested back into footballing charities and how much is used to run the initiative, pay the staff etc (always interesting with charities)

2.) 06 Sep 2017 10:12:04
I believe it's going to go to dementia charities in light of the recent realisation of the brain damage caused by heading the ball so much throughout a football career.

Very worthy cause if true.

3.) 06 Sep 2017 10:17:49
Back!, why go cynical so quick? It's a positive endeavor that could get funding to any number of people who will benefit more from it than the players.

4.) 06 Sep 2017 10:30:56
I started by describing it as a noble endeavour Andy you may have missed that. Also you may not find it interesting where the money you donate to charity goes but I certainly am. If you think that every penny donated to charity is directly used for charitable purposes you must do some research I'm afraid. I wouldn't say I'm cynical so much as curious. If I donate 10pound and 6 of that is used for charitable purposes, it's common sense to wonder where my other 4 is going and who it's going to. Settle down buddy.

5.) 06 Sep 2017 10:50:34
Totally get it, man. Was being more playful than it obviously came across.

6.) 06 Sep 2017 11:12:44
No problem Andy it's just I love the idea of these charities but not always their execution. It is refreshing seeing players donate some of their outrageous salaries though.

7.) 06 Sep 2017 14:28:37
Juan Mata has shown a level of humanity seldom seen in football on a number of occasions. Truly great man.

8.) 06 Sep 2017 18:12:13
A very nice sentiment. Back is right to wonder where his donations go, sadly a lot of charities are being run by the same ruthless people who do well in big business. Not all charities are run by phycos though and most do amazing work. 1% is better than nothing of course but the charity would get much more exposure if it was 5-10%. Good man mata. A player I have always admired, fantastic creativity. I know urltd wouldn't do business with us but he would be an excellent, premier league ready, creative replacement for coutinio.

Lemar has just ripped Holland apart showed his quality even more in that game shame we can't get him think he would of been a very good signing ah well we move on let's get behind everyone at club and have a fantastic year no point dwelling on it.

Kloppers

1.) 31 Aug 2017 22:29:46
Hollander were rubbish.

2.) 31 Aug 2017 22:52:21
Im sure someone on here would have been calling him overpriced and a waste of money within a month if he had signed.

Tbh, I'm not saying he would be a good signing but it wouldn't be out the blue, regarding the injury he seems to have put it behind him this season and played 14-15 times in all competition he is a winner tho and our team does miss that kind of person scores big game goals, but then I don't think he is what we need.

At Villarreal he was very good, agile great with both feet as ed said not every good at Barcelona but then I don't think he has been given much of a shot at a run of games always in and out.

Be very interesting if Mahrez was to come in, do you believe he would play deeper Ed? or can he play a little bit deeper rather then be a winger/ Inside forward? there is no doubting his talent when he is on form like said above its his attitude that let's him down.

Kloppers

{Ed001's Note - no mate, he does not put in enough effort for me to play any deeper.}

Same could be said for most Brazilians when coming across the water they all could be lightweight its there guile and tenacity that gets them over, he was a huge prospect a few years ago and done ok for Shaktar nothing amazing he is still only 25 and would be a smart move if it was on a free.

Props to Mane for not reacting at all and just standing there, as Ed said the Ref bottled it.

Why would being made captain of his national team, make him any closer to club captain? Henderson is the perfect captain you need he listens he is a model pro nothing negative is hardly spoke about his private life sure he leaves you wanting more on the field but at the number 6 position he is the best we have until Klopp deems it necessary to replace him.

Porto have two fantastic Full backs in Alex Telles, Ricardo Pereira if I remember correctly Klopp wanted Ricardo, both look like they will go onto have fantastic careers.
