Through an ITK that I know.

He who acted like he was shot by Beckham wants the passion of Anfield despite not being popular with LFC fans.

Passionate and demands players actually put in work for their megabucks.

Has an option to stay one more year in Madrid but if he takes them to the CL Final against Bayern or PSG this is where he will bow out gracefully. Hope he does and crushes the little git Arteta.

Klopp has set the footprint for the style of manager we want and this guy gives us that in abundance - not calm or relaxed but passionate and intense in a more grown up way than Arteta the bottom lip trembler.

For me I’d be chuffed.

Slot is gone and has exit bonuses in addition to settling his contract. These bonuses are for getting CL football and 3rd 4th and 5th are ratcheted. He had one for winning CL but hey go.

He is good at what he does, but he is a very defensive-minded manager.

I'm not sure he would suit our DNA, Shak. Each to their own, however. Good day, my friend!

1

28 Apr 2026 15:06:50
Oh God, absolutely no Shak.

I'll guess and join you two's party and say Simeone? 🤔 No thanks. He manages a winning football, but it's all "too dark" for me. Not my idea of what LFC stands for, although I like winning as much as anyone else.

28 Apr 2026 15:30:55
He's an absolute fraud of a coach on top dollar, and terrible at what he does, other than playing constantly on the counter... People here, complaining about legohead negativity? This guy is far worse...

On top of that, the man doesn't speak a lick of English, so not so sure how he would motivate the players or teach them every little dirty trick he's got...

1

28 Apr 2026 15:39:38
The list of English words in that man's vocabulary is shorter than Budgie's pecker. Not to mention, he's not a yes man. No chance Edwards is interested in working with anyone he can't operate like a sock puppet.

Couple of easy of games to come then on to Villa which could be a big one.

I can see 6 points in the next two. I was close on my last one with both Isak and Wirtz on the scoresheet.

Peace - have a great day all!

28 Apr 2026 13:27:43
Hate seeing posts like these labeling any games as "easy", especially after the season we've had.

7

28 Apr 2026 13:54:00
Man Utd away an easy game.... Heard it all now!

3

28 Apr 2026 14:09:26
If we play like we did in our last 2 games, we'll lose both, I promise you that. 👌

3

28 Apr 2026 14:14:20
I'm guessing you were in the 'when Slot wins the Champions League, will you apologise then' camp.

5

28 Apr 2026 14:28:47
In fairness we were only 4 goals away from taking PSG to extra time.

We will win all of them. 😉 I don't say that apologetically either. I don't watch football to stay level-headed. I've got enough of that with the rest of daily life.

He has been assistant manager at a club in Norway for many years.

Wow. that is the most random post of an ex player ever!

Any context to it. or just getting ed1 grey matter going.

28 Apr 2026 08:42:58
Diomande's numbers this season so far, all while playing 99% at RW.
Played 33.
Goals 13.
Assists 9.
That's his first season in one of Europe's top 5 leagues at 19.
For me, he is a must even at the £85m quoted.

16

28 Apr 2026 10:22:50
Some numbers, alright, and looks the part, definitely. Only concern can be how some players have looked outstanding in Germany and been a fraction of the player in England. Nkunku, Werner, Sancho, Voltemade and even our own Flo. But every signing's a risk, I suppose, and does look top notch so far.

4

28 Apr 2026 10:29:58
It is a huge risk, Florian, especially for us, after Keita. I'd rather spend the extra on him rather than on Minteh.

6

28 Apr 2026 10:48:28
Never seen the Diomande play a full game. However, I have seen him score some goals and my golly, the kid has a cannon in both feet regardless of the wing he plays on.

Play on the left, score.

Play on the right, score, both with either foot comfortably. I like what I see. Still need to catch one of his games, tho, so I can get some idea about him, overall.

2

28 Apr 2026 10:54:54
If we're paying 85m for Diomande, the entire Liverpool academy coaching staff and our worldwide scouts should be sacked on the spot.

2

28 Apr 2026 12:49:03
Really, Lowe? What's it you don't like?

1

28 Apr 2026 12:53:10
I expect it will be about £65m. I think RB Leipzig are playing the game as they would like him to extend with them, and stay for another season. Is it too much given the number of minutes he has under his belt? Probably? Do we have a huge number of winger options available to us this summer? Not really.

The market is the market.

Getting in the pricey Diomande and balancing the budget with an opportunistic winger signing like Fatawu, Kudus, M.Diaby, or M.Fofana might be the right play.

0

28 Apr 2026 13:15:38
Florian, it's not the player. I think there is a serious player in Diomande.
However, if Liverpool's scouting network is so lazy and incompetent that they can't identify unknown talents such that we aren't required to spend 85m on a 19-year-old, then they are c**p at their jobs.
Further, Liverpool, the city, is one of the biggest talent pools in the country, the club shouldn't need to a) sign any unproven players, and b) sign kids from outside the city area (they shouldn't be moving at all).

Top clubs should be signing one or two proven elite players to upgrade the first team each season, and any gaps are opportunities for academy prospects.

4

28 Apr 2026 13:24:15
Looking forward to this young man on one wing and Rio the other.

Should have many a full back worried!

1

28 Apr 2026 06:36:11.
5 more points from our last 4 games guarantees Champions League and continuation of the rebuild. I think we’ll do it and this season can be consigned to history following a full review and lessons learned.

Brighton look to have 4 winnable games but it’s still highly unlikely they’ll reach 62 points.

On another note a friend works in marketing and has been doing an ongoing project with LFC to commemorate the title win. Launch plans were shelved following Diogo and he says they’ve been postponed again due to impending management changes…

16

28 Apr 2026 07:35:59
Cheers for the rumour, Pompey.

CL qualification is bare minimum requirement for a club of Liverpool size. If the owners are happy with the club achieving bare minimum and believe Slot deserves another shot, then it's on them.

If signing a number of players means it's a rebuild or transition season, then I think every club bar Villa are in the same boat as us.

Quite a few of them have even had more than 1 manager this season, so their rebuilds and transitions could be argued harder than ours.

Anyways, on a more positive note, looking forward to spending more on tickets next season and more again the season after and season after. Every cloud and that.

I really don't get the hate and disrespect for Slot. Yes, everyone seems to want the team to play better football, but sometimes circumstances play a part in the outcome of the season. But the Venom is uncalled for.
I honestly thought a top 4 finish was what we would get this season.

With the changes and untimely loss of Jota, I thought we would need luck in winning the league.
I think you can count on one hand the times our best 11 was played in succession, and that's if we could agree on our best 11.
I think we do need a fresh start, but with a manager, not a coach.

5

28 Apr 2026 09:42:29
Can we stop using the loss of Jota as an excuse to defend Slot and what has been a subpar season? I keep seeing people, and even some journalists, using it to defend him. I don't know about others, but for me, it's kind of disrespectful to his family to use his death as a distraction from what has been a poor performance from Slot and everyone at the club this season.

10

28 Apr 2026 09:48:24
As I read the other day this season is what we expected last, yet Slot helped the team get number 20.
We have a lot of aging players to move on and also some are shot after years of pushing.
Remember also reading Klopp teams went in cycles as does Pep's due to the demands they put on the players' bodies.

1

28 Apr 2026 09:53:38
The venom and anger and frustration is watching the misuse of a squad - turning up to games bored as hell, watching drab football, getting opened up each week by the opposition and outrun and out fought - and seeing the lack of fitness, the complete degradation, and he's getting highly paid and can't see it!!! So that's why the fans are not happy!! Hopefully that clears it up.

13

28 Apr 2026 10:50:55
"I really don't get the hate and disrespect for Slot."

Really? You don't get it? And you thought after all that money we spent in the summer, top 4 was the best we would get? Cool story, mate.

6

28 Apr 2026 11:21:52
I agree about the unnecessary venom directed towards Slot, he seems a good guy who sadly has had his best ideas quashed. The team, though, have been dreadful this season and are only saved by the fact that every other team has been too.

The Premier League has become dull, predictable and joyless to watch this year. Hopefully it's just a blip and not a trend. The end of the season can't come quick enough.

4

28 Apr 2026 12:58:08
I don't condone any personal digs at Arne or his team.

I think the growing frustration comes from the gaslighting by the club's PR department, and Arne Slot ride or die fans who constantly challenge and even deny what we see with our own eyes on a weekly basis.

This is what happens when you keep gaslighting the fans.

2

28 Apr 2026 13:12:53
It's basically Slot's own doing, and the fact that he has come right after the larger than life personality of Jurgen Klopp.

Everything about Slot just comes as "bland" to me. Bland football, bland tactics, bland strategies, bland training, bland commitment, bland press conferences and bland talks.

We've been 3rd or 4th under Klopp quite a few times. During the season or at the end. But the feeling was different; I always felt far better with Klopp, because the possibility of moving up and still winning something was stronger than it is now.

I look at the season and it's just an overall "bleh", which shouldn't be the case considering we won last year, and hopefully we'll still see LFC in UCL next year. I clearly remember Guardiola saying, "He was always motivated by Klopp and he's responsible for the success he's had." Show me one coach/manager who feels fearful or threatened by Slot and his skills.

2

28 Apr 2026 14:45:21
Longlivethe, care to share some of these "best ideas" Slot had??

28 Apr 2026 06:04:44
Just thinking about the recent suggestion that Slot might be staying and wondering if this has credibility.

Slot continues to defend performances with match data. Xg being his favourite.

We know FSG love data and I do wonder if this has led to their decision to back Slot if indeed it’s true they are going to back him.

As fans that have been watching and in many cases playing or even coaching the game for years, we can see the problems, but Slot’s hiding behind data each game. Often quoting how unlucky we’ve been. We’ve missed big chances, oppo have scored from their one chance, set pieces etc etc.

I personally still think he’s gone.

I can’t believe FSG wouldn’t be getting feedback that performances have been consistently below what’s expected and that the intensity has dropped off.

There are also good managers available at no cost. Alonso and Iraola for example.

The playing personnel we’ll have next season suit Alonso’s style. Frimpong, Kerkez, buying two centre backs and keeping Konate, Wirtz, Ekitike and Isak.

I’m not sure how wide players like Rio or a Diomande (if we buy him) would fit in to an Alonso system though…

The only other reason for him staying would be if we had someone like Enrique lined up for the following season but that feels like a long shot.

2

28 Apr 2026 07:22:54
If it's data based and say we finished 4th this season on top of 1st last season I've no doubt FSG would want the manager to continue. After Klopp left if we were offered 1st+ 4th in following 2 seasons we would've snapped their arm off for it.
If it's based on your eyes watching the team, there's something v badly wrong this season and only league so poor this season we wouldn't be finishing as high as we are going to.

My guess is Slot wants to head home to Holland to be with his family who I presume have no intention of moving over. It has been a problem for him which has resulted in him taking his eye off the ball and letting it slip. Coupled with winning the league handy last season, maybe he thought he could do the job not fully immersed in it. It will be put out as a mutual separation, which it probably is, and we move on.

3

28 Apr 2026 08:39:07
Alonso did 3421 at Leverkusen but 4231/433 at Madrid.

2

28 Apr 2026 10:33:07
Surely it's not about a manager and his preferred system, but a manager who can implement a successful system that incorporates the players he's got and can change or alter that system over time and opposition, as he gets his desired players?

0

28 Apr 2026 10:57:06
I don't need some hapless stat like XG to know the manager is and has been all at sea all season long with his pathetic tactics that he improved no soul in the squad. Is there a stat for that?

Also, Slot using XG is very convenient, btw. If you simply use your eyes, you will see we have been a shambles all reason re: actual level of performances, something he is fully aware of and responsible for. Yet, he picks a nothing stat like XG to prove that the sky is blue despite us seeing dark clouds circling when we use our eyes and for some of us, all 4 of them.

I bet you the away crowd signing Xabi and Stevie songs was also a stat Slot conveniently missed.

Hey, maybe the press can ask him that based on the most important stat in football as in wins & losses, where would he rate LFC this season esp. after losing 9 in 12 in Oct./Nov. and still kept a job.

2

28 Apr 2026 11:27:11
Boy, I miss the days when a coach's job was to get a tune out of the players they have rather than players executing a coach's preferred structural formation.

I want the music back.

1

28 Apr 2026 04:57:06
Question: Is Alonso the answer?
I want Slot out, but not fully convinced Xabi is definitely the right man. I am not against him coming, but don't want to get caught up in this Xabi Xabi Xabi rhetoric.

I will just be happy to see good football again, something to get geared up to watch each week. So for me it doesn't have to be Xabi, it just has to be Not Slot.

3

28 Apr 2026 08:26:33
And that is the million dollar question, Barry.

I'll be honest, mate. Slot wrote himself in history last season with the title win, and that can never be forgotten.

I can understand the criticism he's got this season, but not the personal insults.

I've not enjoyed watching a lot of games this season, and I've not been to Anfield since the Spurs game.

The players, at times (a lot), have looked unmotivated and disinterested this season, and Slot's way of playing is extremely hard to watch.

I get it, some might say that it's not Slot's way, it's the players, then that means he has no control, so that's even more a dismissal offence.

Last season was amazing, this season has been frustrating. Personally, I don't want to see a third season of this kind of football, but I have zero say in the matters.

I'm not fully sold on Alonso, though, but I've given up on Slot.

3

28 Apr 2026 08:54:40
It was 12 months yesterday that we celebrated winning the 20th. It was one of the most euphoric experiences I've had following us, having had to wait 35 years. At the time, I thought I'm going to cherish this, as I don't know when, or if, I'll be doing it again. Never did I expect a season like this, though.

I also have reservations about Alonso turning things around, but I've also given up on Slot. That said, if the powers that be decide to stand by him, I'll no doubt be there continuing to protest about ticket price increases. It's what we do, or choose to do, as supporters.

3

28 Apr 2026 09:37:45
Rome, some posters on here who hardly go a game say the increase isn't too bad n just pay it.

0

28 Apr 2026 09:52:50
Nice one, Strom! Morning to you. Hope you're well, mate.

0

28 Apr 2026 11:10:14
Rome, yea I'm all good here mate, hope you are good yourself.

27 Apr 2026 21:42:56
All depressing posts aside. The sight of Alison celebrating Robbo’s goal was great to see. Doesn’t look like he’s off anytime soon.

9

28 Apr 2026 10:58:13
Him bear-hugging Woodman after the game made me smile.

4

27 Apr 2026 17:21:46
It’s over fellas …

Awful awful football again and a misuse of talent in the squad.

I literally don’t even look forward to the games or even bother about next season now.

14

27 Apr 2026 18:03:02
I wouldn't say that personally. I can't help it, when it's Liverpool. Unlike some fans, though, I just concern myself less with the performance and hope for a result these days. At least we look good to get UCL football next season now.

As for next season, I strongly look forward to it cos I don't believe a thing these journos keep saying about Slot staying.

I'm a firm believer that the guys upstairs will not be that stupid to keep him or Hudges and Edward even. My fingers are crossed for a much needed change to take us forward. We don't want to return to where we dropped to for 30 odd yrs again, and I'm sure they're weary of that. Onwards.

4

27 Apr 2026 18:11:42
The club is apparently run by stat obsessed nerds. I'm having the hardest time believing that said stat obsessed nerds either can't see or put no pass on the fact that we've been outrun by nearly every team in the league. I imagine our chance creation and xG stats are pretty poor too.

I still think he'll go.

4

27 Apr 2026 18:23:29
Our chance creation is the highest in the league. Our xG is 1.75 per game, the third highest in the league.

3

27 Apr 2026 18:27:03
Something Red, the stat-obsessed nerds let the entire team slack off on training and become unfit even though they have decades' worth of elite physical performance data at their fingertips. They also managed to spend 450m without adding any depth to the squad. The stat-obsessed nerds also have a terrible track record of waiting for potential signings to amass even more stats to analyse before making a decision, inevitably leaving things way too late and letting the players value double or triple before making a feeble attempt to secure a signature and being beaten to the punch.

I'm not saying Slot's staying, but just cause you have stats doesn't guarantee you'll make the right call.

6

27 Apr 2026 19:10:14
If all three of them stay, I'm personally just done until something significant changes. Sometimes a break is the healthy thing to do, I guess.

8

27 Apr 2026 19:21:29
Can't be ArnieJ, we pass the ball backwards for 90 mins every week. You'll be saying LFC have the most Premier League goals scored since Slot arrived here next.

3

27 Apr 2026 19:28:20
Most important stat - position in the table.

As Hansen would say "First is first and second is nowhere."

Second place would require a bizarre set of results, so third is our realistic ceiling.

Statos need to focus on that stat.

3

27 Apr 2026 19:40:55
SR, if that is the case, then these nerds are defo being told to consider the main stat(s) in football or any sport i.e wins and losses.

Cos if that is the metric they were using, he would have been out of a job months ago esp. when we wen 9 losses in 12 games.

2

27 Apr 2026 19:58:31
No manager has won more Premier League games than Slot since he came to England, in fairness. No one has scored as many goals either. Two fairly big stats.

3

27 Apr 2026 20:50:17
No manager has probably been disliked after winning the prem as much as Slot is, too.

17

27 Apr 2026 21:19:42
Xg nerds can bore off. The thing that happens every week without fail is that our opponents can casually walk through our midfield as if no one is there.

13

27 Apr 2026 21:26:30
So we've been nowhere for much of the past 3 decades then.

0

27 Apr 2026 21:27:49
There's more hustle out of the kids when the cream van turns up than our lot in Champions League 1/4 final. Maybe we should reward them with 99er.

6

27 Apr 2026 22:12:36
Faith,
No, we haven't, but more importantly, we have been lately. No idea what point you're trying to make.

0

27 Apr 2026 22:33:38
Besides our title win last season, we've only been higher than 3rd on 1 occasion the last 5 years.

1

28 Apr 2026 00:08:43
I might be the only one, but I could care less how they do it, but the only stat I care about is my team having more points (goals) than the other at the end of each game.

2

28 Apr 2026 00:52:00
Irish Rover - RTP.

28 Apr 2026 03:38:23
Did I miss a game yesterday??

0

28 Apr 2026 04:49:24
I was thinking the same thing, Cafu. I'm guessing this is more in response to the increasing rumours that Slot is staying for next season.

0

28 Apr 2026 05:27:51
How many managers in the PL now that started at the same time as Slot? Seeing as you like stats.

1

28 Apr 2026 05:30:09
How many managers in the spent nearly half a billion pounds in the summer to struggle most of the season? Seeing as you like stats.

5

28 Apr 2026 06:20:41
WD40,
33 new managers including interims since Slot came in.
What's the angle?

Spending rarely guarantees anything, particularly short term.

0

28 Apr 2026 06:30:16
Pep, Arteta, and Slot have all won 42 league games since Slot's arrival.

Liverpool have scored 5 more goals than City and 10 more than Arsenal.

Liverpool have conceded 25 more goals than Arsenal and 12 more goals than City.

Liverpool collectively have won 5 points less than Arsenal and 1 more point than City.

Realistically all meaningless stats that will change by next weekend and even more by the end of the season.

2

28 Apr 2026 07:17:35
If you take away the 17 defeats, Slot's season looks brilliant, but the football is still assgas to watch. *sad trombone*.

3

28 Apr 2026 09:37:33
Let's give over on 1/2 a billion spent. We sold 2 and a half billion pounds worth of talent and that's not including the loss of Jota and Trent. If you are talking about Wirtz, Ekitiki and Isak, how many times have they started? And let's not forget Alison, most of our defeats have come when he hasn't been on the pitch.

It's more of a fact our squad has been weaker this season.
I don't like the football we have played, but I also don't care for the style of football the Premier League has shown this season.

1

28 Apr 2026 10:40:00
Ah, the money brought in from players leaving like Kelleher, Trent, Quansah, Morton Diaz and Nunez brought in doesn't matter. Along with Jota too. It doesn't matter that we spent around the same net as Arsenal and City. LFC spend the most in a summer for what must be the 1st time in a generation and you never hear the end of it.

2

28 Apr 2026 11:07:44
Wow, the excuses for Slot seem to be coming from well underneath the barrel, atm, since the barrel is literally bone dry and empty.

Really sad how some can come up with worthless stats to defend the utter ridiculous and the pathetically indefensible. Sad, indeed.

1

28 Apr 2026 12:16:05
Slot was involved in spending nearly half a billion on players and having a dreadful season, no amount of spin will change that.

1

28 Apr 2026 12:59:00
And some other team will spend it this summer, WD40, and next year and the year after that, and the amount will go up and up. It's not a given the team that spends the most wins the league. Hasn't happened in nearly ten years, in fact.
