Hi Eds, I haven't seen much on Kelleher in the news lately. Is it now looking like he's staying at LFC? Seems other clubs that were previously interested have sorted out their keepers with other options.
{Ed002's Note - Right now Liverpool will block his departure.}

That seems silly. We should let the lad go and grow his career.

Liverpool need a top Class second goalie if we want to challenge. One injury to Allison in game one would mean no challenge without one. He has a contract. If we can’t find another top Class back up in time then it helps our cause. With city’s money and squad You cannot have any weakness in your back up
Players. This is elite sport.

Interesting 1jj, do you consider Stefan Ortega, Manchester City's backup goalkeeper top class? How about Matt Turner, Arsenal's backup goalkeeper?
4.) 10 Jul 2023 21:21:06
Thanks, Ed! Appreciate it!
5.) 10 Jul 2023 22:12:07
Thunderbird, is having an advantage in that area disadvantageous? What are you getting at?
6.) 10 Jul 2023 22:53:29
Have to say @TB, we need the strongest squad we can get and if our squad players are better than other clubs’ squad players then all the better for us.
7.) 11 Jul 2023 06:47:03
If our backup goalkeeper who never plays is better than their goalkeeper that never plays then I’d call that a score draw.
8.) 11 Jul 2023 07:03:23
Jesus Thunderbird you’ve seen our injury record in recent seasons. It’s sensible until a good back up can come in.
9.) 11 Jul 2023 07:42:01
Thunderbird firstly Allison has had injury problems before and we had problems with our back up goalie you may remember?
Secondly ManCity often had De Bruyne and Bernardo Silva coming off the bench last season and we had Ox and Keita. They are champions and we are playing catch up. If this gives us a potential advantage are you not for it?
10.) 11 Jul 2023 09:26:11
Didn’t Kelleher play when we won a couple of cups not so long ago?
11.) 11 Jul 2023 17:13:29
1jj, where are you going to find a top class goalie who's prolly starting every week for his top club, and convince him to come to LFC and warm the bench?
12.) 11 Jul 2023 18:09:07
Oil - Kelleher.
13.) 12 Jul 2023 11:04:01
Oil? That's not my name, bro. Either way, I got your point. Peace.

Great summary of recent transfer rumblings with LFC.
My opinions.
It does feel like Darwin may be on the move, but Slot seems to appreciate him. That salary and that transfer value basically in the old Origi role isn't money well spent though. I don't believe Darwin has peaked in his development, but I think he needs a fresh start elsewhere that comes with less pressure, perhaps in Spain.
Kerkoz is a recycled story and we have moved on from him. I do believe possibly the first move we see made next summer though is for a Robbo heir. Hato would be awesome, but my gut is that someone off the radar will emerge quickly and land at LFC.
It wouldn't surprise anyone if Diaz moved on as the left side of the attack is pretty crowded and he seems interested in a new challenge. Not sure his Barcelona dreams will ever materialize though.
Nothing surprising about Kelleher as LFC are bringing in a new keeper to succeed Alisson. I like Kelleher too, but not sure I ever saw him as more than this, basically the PL equivalent of a great NFL backup QB.
The whole world admires Dean Huijsen. LFC don't usually get caught pursuing guys who are trying to drive a bidding war. Can't see this one being worth the energy of discussing much unless it gets out that he wants LFC and could be a VVD replacement.
I agree with the notes on both Jota and Konate. I don't see LFC letting Konate go easily, but Jota is one that could end up leaving on a quickly developing sale. Again, that left side is crowded and Jota's physical makeup doesn't seem ideal for handling the intensity of the PL.

Ignacio was the main target last summer, but that was contingent on VVD leaving, so things never went anywhere.
Per Schurrs of all people was a top target summer of 2023, and he was someone Klopp really loved. That never went anywhere either.

I think this comes down to how the club view Trent and his direct impact on their success. A very rough calc shows 250K/ week for 5 years comes out to about the same cost as bringing in a new RB for 40M (all in - including agent fees) and 100K/ week for 5 years. Certainly, you get a big drop off in ability, impact, and culture while spending the same amount, so I think Trent is poised to land well over 300K/ week on his new deal. It's kind of a no brainer to me given how unique his skill set is and how red his blood is. He isn't just a world class player, he's the heir to the captaincy.

It sure feels like Coote has tons of baggage, crossed someone who can show evidence of that baggage, and is really putting it to him now. Wonder if it's an angry bookie or something of the sort. Latest allegations are extremely serious, and he may not only lose his job but could end up in prison.

Salah has always had an unconventional relationship with the club. His representation seems to like to annually flirt with other clubs, and has dones this since Salah joined LFC. The way he goes about his business though has turned off a lot of the power players in Europe and it makes me think that Salah's best option (combining pay with competition) is to stay put at LFC for a couple of years. I'm sure LFC know this and are monitoring. With that said, I found it encouraging that Salah purposely did something to try to put pressure on the club. To me that signals his desire to stay and something can be worked out.
My gut all along is that all 3 end up staying, but things won't be worked out without things getting a little tense.
