Does anyone know if the Anfield Agenda guy has carried out his threat and quit - now that Slot has gone?
31 May 2026 16:14:18
He threatened to quit if Slot stayed, Ron, instead of backing his sources; when the top tier journalists told us all Slot was staying, he offered his resignation.
He was on twice yesterday, once the news broke that Slot had gone.
He can now carry on reading out every transfer link going.
Normal service has been resumed.
31 May 2026 16:35:28
Whilst he's making a few quid, never going to quit.
31 May 2026 16:47:18
He came out about 2 weeks ago and said Slot was definitely leaving, then the usual journalists came on and said Slot was definitely staying, then Craig retracted his statement because he was repeatedly being told he was 100% wrong and Slot was staying, so he offered his resignation because he thought he had got it wrong, but then ended up getting it right. It was all very dramatic haha.
I have nothing against the fella like. I would hate to get the amount of abuse that he gets, some of it is terrible, and it's from LFC fans too. All he is doing is reading out stuff from the internet. If people don't like it then don't watch it.
31 May 2026 16:48:07
That's not aimed at you two, by the way, it's aimed at the people that have been trolling Craig.
31 May 2026 15:09:30
Cannot wait for the exciting high pressure front football to come back. Now delighted with the new manager change.
31 May 2026 17:17:33
I can't wait to start looking forward to watching football again. It's been a hard slog all of this season.
I do have 2 concerns with Iraola, though.
1) The number of injuries we are going to have. Bournemouth have been top of the injury charts for the last 2 years, so we'll need some very good depth (which we currently don't have).
2) Bournemouth lost quite a few games in a row when Iraola first joined, and had bouts of losses in a row since he has been there. It'll take some time for our players to get used to his style.
31 May 2026 17:28:57
Iraola joined mid season, did he? So at least our first few games would be friendlies. Your 1st point, Brommers, I agree with. We don't have the squad at the moment to be high intense every 3 days, which brings me to my 2nd point. Iraola has never managed a European campaign before. That is gonna be a huge learning curve for him. He will have to tinker with his methods. But he was gonna have to learn sometime, and I would be confident he can handle it. But we are gonna have to give him the squad to do it.

Travelling back from Cornwall last night so catching up on the posts and although I’m not disappointed if it’s to be Iraola I just feel we missed the boat with Xabi?
2-3 weeks ago he was the man being widely touted & out of the managers mentioned, should Slot go for me was the stand out man. Played for the club, got the vibe & the culture of the club & knew the city & what it means. He also imo would have been the man to get the best out of Wirtz & by all accounts he made it known he wanted the role so privately he must be seething?
If it’s Iraola now then I wish him the very best.
I’m not one to think could it be too big a step and his undoubted work ethic is exactly what this squad needs. People forget Arteta was totally untried at any level before he took on the Arsenal job but he was tough enough to weed out the slackers & to his credit has built a pretty formidable squad.
31 May 2026 16:27:02
Knowing how important the bond between style, energy and how the Reds fans respond to exciting, front footed football, Iraola's game suits that check list more than Xabi's.
31 May 2026 17:02:09
Been down Padstow, again, Bristol?
31 May 2026 17:23:49
Yes, mate - we have
Glorious place to be in this weather, but posting on here was limited, with the Mrs getting Arsy every time I had the phone out!
31 May 2026 17:30:51
As good as anywhere in the world when the weather's nice, Bristol.
31 May 2026 14:57:49
Richard Hughes hardly comes out of this mess smelling of roses.
He has bought players erratically, turned a title-winning squad into an unbalanced and poorer one, which is transitioning into a mid-table one at great expense, and he doesn't understand the club and its fans any better or worse than Arne did. No doubt not helped by apparently continuing to live in Bournemouth. (presumably he works from home?)
Yes, Slot made mistakes, his football was boring, in fact dire to watch, especially in person. Our attacking passages of play seemed completely uncoordinated, the midfield form has disappeared and the defence can't keep a clean sheet.
Throw in some odd interview comments, the lack of squad fitness and a number of other factors and there is lots for us fans to be cross about.
But responsibility for buying a wingback in Frimpong when we don't use WB's, for the fact we've got no centre back squad depth, the collapse of the Marc Guehi deal, spending idiotic amounts on Wirtz when we can't fit him in, Isak which looks like a vanity project, the appalling way Harvey Elliott has been treated, nobody coming out of the academy etc etc, the list goes on. Those all sit with Mr R Hughes!
31 May 2026 16:11:03
I think, if Mike Gordon intervened as is being stated, then no-one at Liverpool comes out looking good from this.
When your boss starts making decisions in your field because you won't/cannot, then it's time to start prepping your C.V.
31 May 2026 17:16:33
I agree that Dickie should take his fair share of the blame for this season.
31 May 2026 17:30:32
Well, he's gonna be here for this transfer window, so let's hope he's on top of his game.
31 May 2026 13:39:29
With Juve finishing outside CL places and needing cash, I’d take Khepren Thurman as a replacement for Jones or MacA and/or Manu Kone. I know we looked before at these 2 but they were young.
I think they would work well either in a double pivot with Slobo or Wirtz, or share the 6 roll using Kone. As a defensive option and Khepren as a box to box option.
31 May 2026 14:56:41
Khephren Thuram and Manu Kone.
I am back in January 2023.
31 May 2026 15:02:27
Na. I think a player like Mahamadou Sangare has surpassed him and more of the type we need.
31 May 2026 15:04:35
Just waiting on a Renato Sanches shout now for nostalgia.
31 May 2026 15:13:05
No thanks. You don't buy players because they are cheap, you buy them because they make the team better. If you stock up on players cheaply, all you've done is buy a knock-off squad.
31 May 2026 15:26:19
Lamine Camara and Mamadou Sangare are the two midfielders we have been tracking of late.
The guys at Anfield Index have suggested that Camara was offered to Slot last summer but he didn't want him.
31 May 2026 16:30:29
Simao, pls.
31 May 2026 16:38:08
If we are talking nostalgia shouts, surely Simao sorts our wing issues out...
31 May 2026 16:55:12
Heard we're in talks to sign Dani Alves, David Villa and Davis Silva.
31 May 2026 13:20:05
Just wanted to say thank you to Arne Slot for 2024/25. I’m going to blank out 25/26 season. What is done is done.
Very excited about 26/27 now.
31 May 2026 14:13:07
Yep. That day against Spurs was special. A tear or two was in the eye.
31 May 2026 14:27:48
It was a special day indeed, Florian. Still have it all the game and all that went on after it, saved on my DVR.
31 May 2026 13:10:28
Hi All.
If Iraola is to become the next manager of LFC. Which player would you have him bring along with him? You can only pick one!
31 May 2026 13:21:09
Probably Kroupi, but to be fair to Bournemouth there's plenty who I'd take.
31 May 2026 13:25:25
Scott.
31 May 2026 13:26:16
From Bournemouth? Kroupi or Alex Scott.
31 May 2026 13:29:05
From Bournemouth? Rayan, Scott or Senesi are the only 3 good enough in my opinion. Maybe Kroupi.
31 May 2026 14:04:07
Rayan 100%.
31 May 2026 14:07:17
Rayan all day. Left-footed attackers are too rare. I'd go Scott thus window and Rayan next window when his release clause kicks in.
31 May 2026 14:10:19
For what we need right now, probably Rayan.
Do like Evanilson, Scott and Kroupi, but not top of our list of needs.
Not fussed about Senesi. Good long passer, but that's about it.
31 May 2026 14:14:10
I've liked Scott this season.
31 May 2026 14:30:22
Rayan - has an incredibly high ceiling. Kroupi is very good too.
31 May 2026 14:59:50
Alex Scott for me.
31 May 2026 16:19:32
Rayan or Scott.
On the basis we get Diomande, probably Scott, although I think Rayan with a prem season under his belt is less risky than Diomande.
31 May 2026 13:10:23
Glad to see the back of Slot and hopefully the club get the next manager appointment right.
I may have missed it but has there been any announcement regarding the coaching staff and whether any or all of them are also leaving?
Is this only likely to become clearer once the new coach/manager is known?
I especially hope to hell the "fitness" team get a major overhaul.
31 May 2026 14:11:32
All of Arne's coaches will leave with him. Xavi Valero is one that you could see hanging around if they like him.
31 May 2026 14:17:23
Sipke Hulshoff,
Giovanni Van Bronckhorst
and Ruben Peeters
have all left the club with immediate effect.
31 May 2026 13:05:12
Ed001 I have not been happy with Frimpong he has looked awful and I remember feeling the same about Bobby under Rodgers and once Klopp got his hands on Bobby it was like we had signed a new player.
So hopefully once the new manager comes he can turn him around.
The other new players Ed Wirtz Ekitike and Kerkez have had good games not seen that from Frimpong but hopefully we can see a better side of him.
Because Gakpo MacAlisster Gravenberch have had a massive drop this season. So maybe we might see a turn in form of them all.
31 May 2026 13:27:51
Frimpong has not shown himself to be an elite performer anywhere as yet - he is a decent homegrown squad option, and the fee paid reflects that.
If he becomes anything more than that, it is a bonus, but as I understand it, the main reason for purchase was to ease the way for Flo to join.
31 May 2026 15:03:05
Whilst everyone else, even Isak, has had moments that show their quality, I'm failing to recall times where Frimpong did. All I can remember is him standing on the ball, inching forward towards his man, threatening to make a feint without ever doing so.
Never have I seen a man think about threatening to do something so much that he just ends up standing completely still. He's like one of them fainting goats.
