Hi, first time poster here, passing on what I’ve heard.

Gakpo will be sold but not until January. He’s seen as cover for left wing and striker. January we plan to move him on, interest provided. Will replace him with Bournemouth’s Rayan once his release clause becomes active, as Bournemouth will not sell this window. Ekitike will be back around then also.

Nunez links are wide of the mark. Only other attacking player to join will be Diomande. Then it will be a cdm, left back and right back; no centre back will be signed either (this window).

If any of the itks can back this up and verify these claims, would appreciate it as the person who told me this thinks he’s an itk

I wouldn't mind that. Feels strange that we would replace a LW with a RW, but as we have signed Munoz and both Diomande and Munoz can play either wing, it's not a bad thing.
Rio, Munoz, Rayan and Diomande would be quite the set of young and exciting wingers!

4

26 Jun 2026 18:04:22
Don't like the sound of any of that, to be honest! But thanks for sharing.

6

26 Jun 2026 18:28:00
£130m for Rayan in Jan. No chance we spend that.

8

26 Jun 2026 18:39:38
Tismikas will be the backup LB next season.

We will not spend £130m for Rayan.

If we can sign Barcola and sell Gakpo this summer, then it will be done.

8

26 Jun 2026 19:02:44
Keegans Purm,
You know for a fact that we won't pay that, or are you just jumping straight in there with a negative comment.

5

26 Jun 2026 19:22:51
I think Munoz has been signed to play more often than many people think. I may be miles off and he might end up as an occasional back up/super sub. But EUR40m is not typically the sort of money we would pay for someone to intentionally be a back up. Most of the time we spend EUR40-60m on a player, it's with the view to them being a regular first teamer, even if only as a rotational option (Jota, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Konate, Gravenberch, Mac-Allister, Mane, Salah, Firmino, Fabinho etc).

When we sign a player to intentionally be a bench warmer, it's usually in the lower band of EUR15-30m (Shaqiri, Minamino, Tsimikas, Klavan, Chiesa, Mamardashvili, Frimpong etc).

Time will tell.

2

26 Jun 2026 19:28:07
Nature of the market has changed, tbf, MK.

7

26 Jun 2026 19:31:10
Fair point, Taurus. Anderson going for £116-130m is mental. He's literally a £30m player if it's 2012.

1

26 Jun 2026 19:33:53
Sorry, Longthing, I didn't realise everyone had to have the same opinion on a rumours page. You think we are going to spend £130m on a rw option who then rotates with Diomande?

2

26 Jun 2026 19:41:25
Thanks for sharing, but several ITKs have reported that the club are open to selling Gakpo, and we're still pursuing Barcola, who is seen as his replacement if he goes. Also, we're on the verge of signing a rw for £100m+. There's a less than zero chance we're going to buy a second rw for £130m in January.

2

26 Jun 2026 19:42:44
Yeah, agree, MK. All bonkers. I mean, we spent £60m on Jacquet and, honest to God, I have no idea if he is good.

0

26 Jun 2026 19:54:28
Utter rubbish, I presume.... Barcola will arrive along with Diomande.... Gakpo will be gone.

1

26 Jun 2026 19:57:27
MK, if you're suggesting Munoz is being brought in to be a starter, I'd have to disagree. At £40m he's been brought in to play off the bench, obviously there'll be some rotation to relieve starters, but he's definitely been signed as backup, albeit as a young prospect who may kick on if he suits Iraola's high-tempo style. I think you're forgetting where the market is right now, Diomande's had 1 good season, and he's gonna cost 3x times as much as Munoz.

I don't see a world in which Munoz is a starter, the kids had 1 half-decent season in a team that barely avoided relegation; he didn't even hit double digits for goal contributions.

Longthing, Keegan's very much correct; we're about to pay £100+m for a RW, why in the name of Fowler would we buy another one for £130 come January?

1

26 Jun 2026 20:02:52
MK, I think you are right in a way, but don't get hung up on first choice/back up etc. We will end up with 6 or 7 attackers for 3 positions, who can play multiple positions, and will all get plenty of minutes. I expect Iraola to work his wingers hard and rotate them plenty.

The key is not to have too much drop off when you do.
Does Munoz make the C/L final team? Who knows, but I'm betting that he was bought with the idea that if he did, he wouldn't disappoint.

1

26 Jun 2026 20:13:37
I'm still hoping Nunez comes back.

3

26 Jun 2026 20:45:51
Chewy, I don't think we'll have a set XI under Iraola. It's too intense to play 3 games a week with the same XI every game. All I was saying is I think Munoz will start a fair share of games. It wouldn't shock me, for example, if he started about 25-30 games in all competitions.

2

26 Jun 2026 12:34:48
I understand Liverpool are very keen on RC Lens right back Tanka Jahari. Has a small release clause.

9

26 Jun 2026 13:26:52
How many large pizzas will be ordering?

4

26 Jun 2026 13:34:45
Tanka Jahari would never order a whole pizza just for himself.

7

26 Jun 2026 14:13:24
I've got a small "release clause". It's nothing to be ashamed of.

13

26 Jun 2026 16:12:20
It's not the size of your release clause that matters, it's what you do with it.

5

26 Jun 2026 16:16:18
It's been a while since my release clause was triggered...

10

26 Jun 2026 16:34:52
My release clause is paid in installments.

1

26 Jun 2026 17:22:12
RedScarface, I'd get you prostate checked, mate!. 👍

5

26 Jun 2026 19:00:00
Tanka Jahari very much for letting us know.

4

26 Jun 2026 19:42:51
Stupid sexy release clauses.

1

25 Jun 2026 22:37:42
Manchester City have agreed a fee with Nottingham Forest worth up to £130m to sign Elliot Anderson.

The England midfielder is now set to undergo a medical ahead of completing his move to the Etihad Stadium.

5

26 Jun 2026 02:07:44
Kalvin Phillips 2.0.

17

26 Jun 2026 03:11:17
JakeDenney2 - Anderson is an outstanding midfielder - genuinely one of the best midfielders in the league - he is nothing like Kalvin Phillips.
However, 130m is a remarkable amount of money for someone who is simply not very dangerous. At least City have paid through the nose for him rather than somehow scurrying away having paid 43m or something silly.

30

26 Jun 2026 03:57:21
That's a team that already knows it's only getting a fine for their "alleged" wrongdoings!

33

26 Jun 2026 05:24:21
Problem is it sets the tone. Wharton was/is a £50m-£60m player, now £100m.

8

26 Jun 2026 06:15:42
Match - If anyone is dumb enough to pay 100m for Wharton, have at it. It's no good equating Wharton with Anderson - they are nothing alike except for age and nationality, but I get your point.
England should be absolutely walking away with this World Cup (Rice, Anderson and Bellingham in midfield?! Insane quality), but they won't.

15

26 Jun 2026 07:47:36
Very good player, would love him at Liverpool, but that is a lot to pay for a cm.

6

26 Jun 2026 07:55:32
Personally, don't think England will win anything without any wingers and trying to force Bellingham into the team as a 10.

4

26 Jun 2026 08:05:21
Rice, Bellingham and Anderson = insane quality. Lol. It's amazing what effect good PR has on people.

14

26 Jun 2026 08:05:26
Calling Elliot Anderson an outstanding player is madness. He is nothing special at all, but he can run a bit. Imagine if he was playing with all the top midfielders like Gerrard, Alonso, etc., he couldn't lace their boots.

15

26 Jun 2026 08:29:17
I wonder what they are saying about this at Newcastle? They sold him for £35m 2 years ago so that they could keep Gordon for a bit longer.

12

26 Jun 2026 08:49:16
The Anderson fee will be forgotten by mid season. The guy's intercept rate was leagues ahead of everyone else. He will be an important player for them for years to come.

16

26 Jun 2026 09:24:37
We paid a similar amount for Wirtz, and he looks like a Conference League player. Anderson will be a hit at City. He's also exactly the type of player we need.

He's out of Slot's system now and playing with world class players, and he's still the only one in that German team who looks anything but 'generational.' In fact he's been largely a ghost in all the games.

8

26 Jun 2026 09:39:33
Anderson would be in the conversation for our midfield, in my opinion. Tonali would still be my first choice. All opinion, no right or wrong.

5

26 Jun 2026 09:38:26
@bob You mean the guy with the quick feet who created their only goal last night?

I know you are just a troll but surely even you must be getting tired of your posts by now?

29

26 Jun 2026 09:48:19
Danny Drinkwater 2.0. Good player in an average team (and I include England in that), but not top level for me.

Does the ugly stuff well, but is a limited footballer. Looks lost when the team has lots of possession, and you'd expect City to have lots of possession. Excels in a counter attacking setup because he's got legs and doesn't mind a tackle.

5

26 Jun 2026 10:09:54
Wharton is far more special on the ball than Anderson. It's just a pity he's vulnerable to big spaces off the ball. Anderson is definitely the better all rounder and athlete (which is more important now than before). But Wharton is more talented for me.

2

26 Jun 2026 10:33:19
Bob is correct to an extent. Wirtz has done very little to justify his fee. So far. Hopefully under Iraola it will all change. I'm expecting it to.

8

26 Jun 2026 10:49:36
Sorry, but this is the real world, and we will not be signing 6-7 players this window unless big sales are made. It just doesn't happen.

Joe
VVD
Leoni
Jacquet

These will be the 4 cbs unless one leaves.

The kids will get cups and subs appearances.

RB we have two senior RBs on the books already and 2 senior LBs also. If we buy one for either, then one of the others will be sold. It's a business at the end of the day.

3

26 Jun 2026 11:19:19
Unless Iraola decides to play Frimpong further forward, BeKind. Which, let's be honest, is his position. He's no right back.

3

26 Jun 2026 11:43:00
@Bob, Wirtz has been one of their best players. He's constantly involved. Germany lost the match as soon as they took him off. Having said that, he needs to improve his decision making when deciding to make these quick passes.

He often lost or gave the ball away to the opposition under Slot, and has been doing the same for Germany as well.

As for Anderson, I wish we would have signed him. We need some English players in that team, let alone the midfield.

3

26 Jun 2026 11:50:31
Well, City have gone and set the precedent for this summer's market.

We may as forget signing anyone from the Premier League now unless they are a contract opportunity. Even then Spurs paid over £50m for Van Hecke.

Crack on, Richard.

1

26 Jun 2026 12:24:53
"What about Gerrard and Alonso" - *a big long yawn*.
Well done on illustrating your point with two all-time great players.

0

26 Jun 2026 13:14:22
Ok use Pedri and some midfielders at PSG if it makes you feel better. Anderson is nothing special and will never ever be an outstanding or great footballer. So £130m is an absolute joke. Declan Rice must be worth £200m and he's not great either.

0

26 Jun 2026 13:52:55
There is a lot of English tax in there. Kudos to Forest. They saw the potential for a large profit margin when they signed him.
I imagine that influences the market. Any club interested in Morgan Rogers, for example, would expect to pay a similar fee.

0

26 Jun 2026 14:10:12
Declan Rice was easily one of, if not the best, midfielder in the league last season, imo. I have to disagree with you when you say he isn't great.

Anderson is a good player, but definitely not worth 100m. In fact, I stand by what I said earlier too and say that no player in the world, regardless of how good they are, is worth that kind of money.

But the market is crazy and has been crazy for a while now. 50m is the new going rate for average players nowadays.

3

26 Jun 2026 14:15:14
Kudos to Forest. Is he to replace Anderson?

2

26 Jun 2026 15:51:05
I would say Anderson is more deserving of his £100m+ fee than Diomande, who we are trying to get...

I would always prefer to buy Premier League proven players.

He's very tidy and great at intercepting attacks. Reminds me of how Fernandinho used to play for City in that he should allow them to play high and stop teams getting at them with any counter attack.

2

26 Jun 2026 17:38:22
Wirtz 31 PL games, 5 goals, 3 assists.

No excuses whatsoever, he's had a bedding in season now, the time has come for Wirtz to put his cards on the table?

Thank God we never got Nagelsmann. Couldn't even beat Ecuador with the finest Germany has to offer. Hoeness, another German pudding.

Bundesliga miles behind the Premier League.

Frimpong also came from there, he was a let down also when fit. One hopes Alonso has a poor season also, having come from Germany to manage RM and got the Welly. Why risk signing Diamonde when Hugo is back early 2027. Rayan 15 PL games, 5 goals, 2 assists, circa the same figures as Wirtz, Rayan half the games played.

0

26 Jun 2026 19:15:46
Posters have no concept of what great means anymore. Better than average and one good season doesn't mean great. There wasn't one great player in the PL this year.

0

26 Jun 2026 19:45:48
Wirtz's numbers are similar to Gordon, 6 and 4 assists.

0

26 Jun 2026 20:11:02
Declan Rice is the best midfielder currently, and Arsenal have had their 100m back already from him.... Anderson is not a Declan Rice currently. And Declan Rice is well behind Gerrard level also.
Players are getting worse generally, but the prices are getting bigger.

We need to seriously be looking further afield. South Americans have more desire... But then want a move to Real Madrid. Etc.
Got to be better than Anderson for a lot cheaper elsewhere.

25 Jun 2026 18:43:30
Liverpool are open to agree a deal with Spurs for Gakpo with Vuskovic heading to Anfield. Both transfers might happen after the WC.

24

25 Jun 2026 19:21:08
Spurs have a strict wage structure. Gakpo is currently on £250kpw. No way he leaves and takes a huge pay cut.

9

25 Jun 2026 19:36:07
Keegans Purm, I've been saying the same. Why would Gakpo want to leave a team who won the league last year for a team who's barely avoiding relegation when he's just signed a contact for a quater mil per week.

Makes absolutely no sense to me. Unless maybe Iraola/the club have told him he's not part of their plans and would rather get him off the wage book?

6

25 Jun 2026 19:41:14
I think after last season, Spurs are going to loosen the purse strings, even if just to appease the fans.

13

25 Jun 2026 19:51:03
Gakpo can be the main man there and in London. Or second fiddle with us. I'd prefer he stayed as so much change again. He also covers striker until Hugo returns.

11

25 Jun 2026 20:01:00
Hey, Chewy, maybe the team that won the title last year don't want him?

9

25 Jun 2026 20:17:24
Just looked at Spurs wages, and their highest paid players are Simons and Romero on £195kpw. Again, Gakpo could leave, but will be to Bayern or Atletico perhaps.

1

25 Jun 2026 20:28:09
Spurs also want to sign Tonali and will break their wage structure to do it. They are prepared to start spending big.

5

25 Jun 2026 20:35:26
Spurs don't have the same structure post levy.

They have cash and will generate loads with their stadium. Wages won't be an issue.

7

25 Jun 2026 22:29:22
People are allowed to take pay-cuts just to leave one place of work to go to another where they feel welcome, are they not?

6

25 Jun 2026 22:50:49
It's being reported Spurs are offering Tonali £275k/week.

2

25 Jun 2026 23:12:43
Vuskovic, another young CB?

0

25 Jun 2026 23:32:54
Spurs will be a different side next season.

3

26 Jun 2026 00:33:40
Spurs will be Spursy again next season. They will revert to type, very easy on the eye at times, will play some good football and then the following week they'll be garbage. De Zerbi, for me, is the ultimate Spursy type coach.

5

26 Jun 2026 00:56:21
Starseeker, yeah, enough of that nonsense, haven't we brought in like 5 young CB's over the last 12 months? Somebody needs to remind the Chuckle Brothers about the whole quality over quantity thing.

7

26 Jun 2026 08:05:41
To be fair, gents, Vuskovic is a very very good cb and was in Germany's team of the year last year. He would be a very good long term investment, however, we already have 4 cbs in the first team. I would imagine, were this to be true, Gomez may well make a move.

5

26 Jun 2026 08:53:27
If people on here like me don't have the first clue about our finances and financial planning how come they know so much about Spurs? Also, who cares what Spurs want to pay (or not pay) players that they may (or may not) want to buy.

I'm not sure if all of our current FITKs (financial) were around when Ed02 provided inside and expert knowledge, but I'm sure he'd have loved your input.

3

26 Jun 2026 09:45:57
"Bought 5 young defenders".

Assna had 6 CB's, with a few fullbacks here, there. 6 CB's with snior national caps.

That's why they won.

Leonie - ACL.
Jacquet - shoulder.

Both are not Prem proven.

Joe, well, the least said the better.
Vvd - 35.

Ndukwe - 17. Still a kiddie - possible loan.
Noah - bought from Burnley academy.
Ndaiye - academy prospect.

So no, we didn't buy 5 Prem ready defenders.

8

26 Jun 2026 10:37:44
We need a top level rb, perhaps 2, another top level cb and a top level lb to challenge and rotate with Kerkez. Kayode, Zabyarni and whomever else as a lb. That will go a long way to sorting out the first team squad.

0

26 Jun 2026 12:45:23
Why are you bothered what Man City do? I couldn't give a toss who they buy. I'm only interested in whatever Liverpool do.

2

26 Jun 2026 12:50:44
Arsenal has more than 6CBs on their roster, iirc. They don't play with full-backs at all. Their entire back line is made up of 4 CBs at any one time.

And all the CBs we bought in were highly rated and were playing in the first team before coming to us.

We keep saying on here that we should buy players before other teams like Bournemouth and Brighton get to them and sell them on for a premium, or to make use of our youth and academy. Well, we have done both those things now, and people are still moaning.

3

26 Jun 2026 14:04:14
With VVD near the end of his career and Konate departing, I think we need a CB with experience.
Leoni, Jacquet and if we go for Vuskovic are 19; 20 and 19 years old respectively.

2

26 Jun 2026 15:39:40
Spurs owners have said they are giving up on their wage structure with their last two league finishes being so close to relegation.
They assured De Zerbi if he joined them.
Now they are up for buying better players on better wages.

1

26 Jun 2026 19:49:58
Their players had a bad attitude. Bournemouth, Brentford and Sunderland have a lower wage structure.

0

25 Jun 2026 15:41:49
Just read a new linkage in the media. Norwegian left winger Andreas Schjelderup. Must be a backup for Barcola (and that too if Gakpo leaves). There's going to be loads of these kind of stories around the World Cup as always. Journalists know "eyeballs" are as much attracted to potential "shiny new toys" as football games themselves.

3

25 Jun 2026 16:09:05
And agents leaking fake interest to the press to drum up interest in their players. I'll be relying on the likes of Carra, Fields & Robbo to help sort the wheat from the chaff.

9

25 Jun 2026 16:40:35
No offence Shipley but where do you think these guys are getting their information? It's clearly coming from agents.

5

25 Jun 2026 17:46:12
Potassium, you're not paying attention. Shipley said 'leaking fake interest'. Firstly, our ITK's are not receiving fake info, they have trusted sources, and secondly, you have no proof whatsoever that they're getting their info from agents. Some might be, but we know for a fact that some aren't.

4

25 Jun 2026 17:59:02
Hard pass. Schjelderup Is a nonce.

15

https://liverpool-rumours.co.uk/uploads/thumb_Ed001.png avatar{Ed001's Note - in case people wonder what VV is referring to: news article about Shjelderup's court case.}

19

25 Jun 2026 18:37:32
Haven't we just bought Munoz? With Gakpo, Rio, Wirtz, Ekitike and possibly Yan Diomande and/or Barcola all being able to play on the left, surely we are looking at other positions.

4

25 Jun 2026 18:47:20
Hard pass in that case. Moving swiftly along.

11

25 Jun 2026 18:52:25
Absolutely would not want that guy anywhere near the club.

14

25 Jun 2026 19:39:34
I'm sure Marseille are interested.

18

25 Jun 2026 21:14:58
I see what you did there, Taurus.

10

25 Jun 2026 15:00:47
Ed's or anyone have any idea what we're looking for outside of wingers, lacroix seems good value at 35 m or so seems odd we would t go for him

1

https://liverpool-rumours.co.uk/uploads/thumb_Ed001.png avatar{Ed001's Note - right-back and central midfield are main priority, we just bought about 5 centre-backs.}

22

25 Jun 2026 17:35:49
Lacroix is not going for 35million.

Van Hecke went for 52 million, and Lacroix is twice the player he is, with more term on his contract left. 60 mill absolute minimum.

I think more like the 70 mark for him.

9

25 Jun 2026 20:38:56
Chelsea are interested in Lacroix.

1

25 Jun 2026 22:58:06
Just because Spurs had their pants pulled down for Van Hecke doesn't mean other players are worth that much or more. I don't think Van Hecke's worth £52m even if he had 5 years left on his contract. PSG paid £59m for Kvara and yet Liverpool look like they're gonna pay double that for Diomande. Is he twice the player that Kvara is?

2

26 Jun 2026 08:06:49
Ignore the money, it just confuses people.

2

25 Jun 2026 14:56:19
Carra/Robbo/Thefields

Bild reporting £100m bid rejected for Diomande. Are they waiting for PSG or just we need to pay £112m?

What if LFC bid £112m, they will wait for PSG?

2

25 Jun 2026 16:13:51
£100m is too much, in my opinion, never-ending £112m. I think we need to look elsewhere.

18

25 Jun 2026 16:34:03
For Bild read Bilge. Ignore.

7

25 Jun 2026 17:47:34
Bilde is trash, pay no attention.

6

25 Jun 2026 17:55:19
It's getting silly now, it's a huge sum for a 19 yr old with 1 season in the Bundesliga, need to walk away, I know it's not my money but the weight of the fee might affect his performance and he's not proven in the league, feel this will bite us on the ar*e.

10

25 Jun 2026 20:57:39
@Fatwallet, the whinging and whining of people not wanting him might put him off too. Fortunately the club seems to take no notice of the opinions on here.

3

25 Jun 2026 23:12:51
Haven't the lads already said that the fee has been agreed, just small details to be sorted.

3

25 Jun 2026 14:20:58
Carra, whats the latest on Diomamde? How close do you think it is? Also do you believe him to be the Salah replacement?
In my opinion, I think Adam Wharton would thrive at Liverpool. what's your opinion, or other possible options.
Cheers for all the works you and the ed's do.

Palace won't sell Wharton for less than £100m given how much City are paying for Anderson, and even then he's not exactly the kind of midfielder who's going to make a difference for us as he's not a defensive midfielder, so we'll be just as soft in the middle as we were last season.

No English CM is worth £50 million, let alone £100.

Wharton will be too expensive, but I don't understand why people don't rate him? He's always struck me as dynamic, and someone whose intelligent passing can take control of midfield.

Reminds me a bit of Jamie Redknapp, and we have lacked that kind of midfielder since Thiago (when he was fit).

However, if Wirtz is to be one of a midfield three, then there is no room for Wharton, and we just need hard-working midfielders alongside him - which we have in Szob and Grav.

Monsterous, you answered your own question there. I think people do rate him, but he is not the profile we need for squad balance.

Hi Ed/Carra/Robbo or anyone else who may know. Few social media links suggesting Chema Andres could be of interest for midfield. Having watched a few Stuttgart games back end of the season when the Hoeness rumours were circling both him and Stiller looked really good in the middle, maybe Chema fitting what we need in that Rodri/Busquets type mould of winning the ball and moving it on that has been missing since Fabinho left.

Anyone know if he is of interest as it does look like Bouaddi could end up elsewhere then fees attached to Wharton and Scott seem excessive.

Didn't Robbo say a fee was greed for 86million? Yet no fee has been agreed.

Chema is someone Iraola wanted at Bournemouth. No idea if he's being looked at by Liverpool.

I'd assume it's a recycled story.

Highly rated Spanish no6. More of an anchor than a destroyer. Similar physical attributes and style of play to Rodri. He plays alongside Angelo Stiller.

Real Madrid have an option to buy him back, apparently.

Cheers, Carra, mate.

Chema Andres looks a big physical unit who'd dominate midfield. Speaks fluent English too so settling in should be fine as well.

Flo Worzt, Robbo said he was told a fee was agreed for around £90m. That doesn't mean all parameters of the deal have been agreed upon. There are many factors which can delay negotiations, like this little tournament they have going on at the moment.

Maybe Leipzig are looking for a sell-on clause, or still trying to have the player loaned back for a year. Nothing will be announced until everything's finalised. Unlike you, Robbo has a track record of producing quality information. You, on the other hand...

So glad to have seen this post and see Ed give you a good talking to Flo and then props to you Chewy as well, spot on with what you said, I understand this a rumours site and an open forum but my goodness some live to complain and contradict ones with a track record of getting things right, i'd rather live in hope than assume the negative things I see are truthful.

Once again ty Eds for what you do and Carra, Robbo, Fields, VictorG & Ned!

Carra, much appreciated for the update, hopefully ends up like another Munoz situation if Iraola is getting a bit of a say in dealings!

Thanks, Carra. I saw Chema play vs Bayern in the Pokal final, and cos I didn't know who he was, I wasn't paying attention.

Hopefully, if we can get him, that would be nice esp. if Iraola wanted him at B'mouth and still wants him.

If you claim to know nothing, and know nothing, then you know at least one thing, so you can't know nothing.
