So that's 4 defeats in our last 5 matches, with probably another one on Sunday. How many is that now this season 14/15?

It's very alarming, but no one at the club seems bothered about it, which is even more alarming.

Every game we play is a worry, because we are so bad right now. Nothing seems to be right with the club for a number of reasons, and it isn't getting better any time soon.

The majority of fans appear to be fed up to the back teeth of our tactics, style of play, lack of fight, and general malaise throughout the team and the club as a whole.

Slot has failed in every sense this season, and will likely fail to get us CL for next season too.

The biggest worry, and dread for me is I am convinced he'll be in charge next season.

What a nightmare thought.

Now on 18. Rafa had 19 in 2004/2005.

Rafa actually had a clue what he was doing. Also, he didn't have 450 million to spend. He didn't have half the squad Slot does, and he had to deal with a board who was more than happy to sell off our top players. If Slot had to manage in Rafa's era he'd be battling relegation.

No excuse for not scoring in 3 of the last 4 matches. Absolutely discouraging.

Seen as tonight's messages will be about our poor season. Im watching the game on Prime an there's 3 strikers (Rooney, Sturridge an Fowler take bias out of it an just ability that suits this team) on the panel an Shearer on commentary. Out of all 4 who would best suit this team.

0

14 Apr 2026 23:38:46
Fowler and, imo, it's not a contest.

1

14 Apr 2026 23:45:00
For me, and throwing bias out the window. Even tho he hates us, Wazza was the most complete striker out of the 4 of them. He would be perfect for the way the team sets up. With bias, it's always Fowler. 😂

14 Apr 2026 23:53:52
Agree, Fields. Rooney was absolutely phenomenal. One of my favourite non-LFC players to watch. Power, pace, aggression, relentless work rate, exactly what we're missing right now.

1

15 Apr 2026 00:00:29
Fowler, all day, everyday.

2

15 Apr 2026 00:14:47
As much as I hate to say it, Rooney was special. Fowler for our and our goals, but you can't deny Rooney was one hell of a player.

Tim Sherwood slysports :- Slot would be encouraged by that display tonight, should keep his job cause he has enough credit in the bank. Holy f*** batman, how do these gimps get a job as analysts.

14 Apr 2026 23:20:20
They don't call him Dim Sherwood for nothing.

5

14 Apr 2026 23:22:05
It was nice to see the players give a bit of effort for once, but PSG controlled that for 90% of it. We got toyed with.

1

14 Apr 2026 23:23:17
It's just his opinion. Fortunately, average footballer, failed manager and poor talking head Tim Sherwood has nothing to do with the decision making process at Liverpool

2

15 Apr 2026 00:08:19
Notsozippy, the wild thing is, there are some on here that agree with that sentiment. 😂 I can't believe anyone thought we'd go through tonight. Blind optimism just really baffles me, either that or very naive and dim, like Mr Sherwood.

Robbo said we've spoken to Enrique, Iriola and Alonso. Most fans commented they'd prefer Iriola.
Enrique is one of a very very few elite managers in world football. When we got Klopp we knew we'd gotten someone special. Enrique is levels above Iriola and Alonso. He's proven he's an elite manager and will address what is a weak dressing room.

I don't know if it's possible at all but I will repeat myself. This club should be moving heaven and earth for Enrique if there's a chance he's interested.
There's Enrique, then the other two managers are below him. Enrique would love this club and this club would love him.

7

14 Apr 2026 23:14:31
Heaven and Earth and anything else that is an obstacle. Fully agree, RF. He's the real deal, no doubt about it.

4

14 Apr 2026 23:22:40
Seen as, you admittedly don't know, let me make it clear for you. It's not possible. At all. Not even a sliver of hope. Successful managers don't climb down the ladder.

1

14 Apr 2026 23:37:42
He would be perfect, but I can't see him leaving that pag team for the time being.

1

14 Apr 2026 22:05:35
Apart from a new manager in the mould of either Alonso or Enrique (preferably Enrique), can we please buy Karashavellia, and Anderson, plus a new RB & CB please? I think these additions will turn us into contenders again. Fully expected to lose tonight. From what we've seen all season, could we really expect anything else? Only top five to achieve now people.

6

14 Apr 2026 22:59:14
Anderson is off to City, not happening. We'll still be enduring the comedy football stylings of Curtis Jones.

1

14 Apr 2026 23:26:43
Am I living in the twilight zone here?! Did we not just get smashed 4-0 by the best team in Europe? The very team people think we can poach managers and players off...

3

14 Apr 2026 23:48:20
Chewy, my post was more of a wish list than anything that I felt would actually happen. However, it's been rumoured (on here and in other places) that Enrique could look for a new challenge after PSG (Premier League possibly as a destination). Now, it's most likely he would go to 115 FC, unless *cough* justice is served and they get relegated. I would suspect that if that was the case, some of their players would be open to moving also.

Add that to the fact that we are still a very attractive club on the world stage, why wouldn't they want to be a part of the LFC family? If 115FC get punished, then no one is going to them. I know it's all if's and but's, but what's to say those individuals would not fancy moving to LFC once the season is over? Why write ourselves off like that?

0

15 Apr 2026 00:21:35
Enrique is currently in negotiations for an extension, apparently they're close to finalising, so forget about it.

City are not getting relegated.

Write ourselves off?! You're living in laland, mate.

Ed001 can you help me.i can't get my head around the lack of physicality/fitness of this team this season, especially the midfield.mac allister for the goal was so slow getting back and just looked gassed.if i can notice this avout the team then why haven the coaching set up soeted it out.maybe going through tonight would of hurt our chances of champions league football next season as no way this team was going to win it and the extra matches would of distracted us from getting 4th/5th.

https://liverpool-rumours.co.uk/uploads/thumb_Ed001.png avatar{Ed001's Note - Slot clearly just does not understand what he is watching and is over reliant on stats.}

8

14 Apr 2026 22:09:50
Confirmation bias. He wants to believe he's right and the stats tell him he is.

2

14 Apr 2026 22:11:26
Maccalister is slow. He's no pace. Neither does Ryan. It's ridiculous how weak we are in midfield. Dom's a good attacking midfielder. Ryan's not a good attacking midfielder, passing midfielder, and I'm yet to be convinced he's our answer to a defensive midfielder.

But the club said here's 300k a week. Maccalister's simply been found out.
I'm disgusted at a lot this season. A lot of working class fans go to that stadium and the football we've had to put up with this season has been distasteful.

14 Apr 2026 22:15:29
Slot's a genius and plays this way to avoid injuries, and look how he's been proved correct.

4

14 Apr 2026 22:22:05
I wonder what stats that made him start Isak over Rio or Salah today. As for Macca the turtle in a 10 and Wirtz on the LW, I bow for Slot's tactical genius. ðŸĪŠ

2

14 Apr 2026 22:29:17
Every player is slow for us now. Our reactions are so so slow compared to most teams. One thing I did notice, especially tonight, was MD kicking. It is really bad. At one point his throwing was better than kicking. He is clearly not the answer after Allison is finished.

2

14 Apr 2026 22:45:52
If stats are all you rely on, then you can always make them prove what you want.

And you can always ignore other stats that disprove your point of view, cos clearly, these stats don't and won't matter to your agenda.

0

14 Apr 2026 23:02:25
ArneSlotsBarber, that comment about Macca had me in stitches. I've never seen him being referred to as a turtle before. Is that because he's as slow as one, or is it because he spends all the time on his back, like a turtle would, if it was kicked over?

2

14 Apr 2026 22:38:29
I'll block anyone who defends that guy. It's not worth the aggravation of dealing with the deluded and the trolls.

14 Apr 2026 23:32:36
Irisheric, Slot brought in his own Head of Physical Performance with him. His whole shtick at Feyenoord was "improving player availability". He did this through periodisation, tweaking the intensity and volume of training.

So we train less and we don't train as hard. It's a complete and utter joke.

Ed's .not knowing much about Alonso style of play in his management roles apart from the odd game against us who in your opinions would he be likely to chase for replacement of mo salah.

Would you think he'd favour the 2 lads from bundesliga olise and diomande? With olise probably out of reach for us also, or would you see a front 2 of Isak and ekitike would see us go more a traditional winger maybe?
Cheers

https://liverpool-rumours.co.uk/uploads/thumb_Ed001.png avatar{Ed001's Note - I have no idea, Xabi doesn't have a set style or formation.}

1

14 Apr 2026 19:27:47
He did seem to favour two 10's behind a 9 during their unbeaten season. I wouldn't be surprised to see something similar in an attempt to get the most out of Wirtz.

1

14 Apr 2026 21:53:16
Slot out now. I turned it off as PSG too good, and we are shocking. Sack him now, FSG.

3

14 Apr 2026 21:55:25
You don't have any type of decent team without a midfield. Forget any formation or tactics. The next manager will need a different midfield to what's currently available at the club.

3

14 Apr 2026 22:02:34
We still have the same midfield that won the league. I hope it will be strengthened but it is nowhere near as bad as Slot's tactics make it look.

4

14 Apr 2026 22:13:08
Mr. R. Funk, it's the same midfield that won the EPL + Wirtz 11 months ago. Therein is not the problem.

1

14 Apr 2026 22:21:03
I think midfield is definitely a weak area. We need a passer in midfield. Simple as that. Grav is elite at ball carrying, but he doesn't know what to do at the end of his runs. His passing is woeful, and shooting not much better, mostly. Szob has the quality, but he just doesn't do enough on the ball. The less said about Macca, the better. Our best passer is Wirtz, but he is more of a clever passer in and around the box, rather than someone who progresses the ball from deep.

People moan about Diaz, but Trent is by far the biggest miss. And it is understandable, because for 10 years he was our main progressor. I don't know if Nyoni is ready for first team football, but we should give him a run. In the limited time I have seen of him, he is very good at line breaking passes like Thiago. We definitely need to move on Macca and replace him with someone who can pass the ball.

https://www.evertonrumours.co.uk/uploads/thumb_ed025-1241569729.png avatar{Ed025's Note - Wirtz was not your best passer tonight TKA, he was bloody awful mate..

1

14 Apr 2026 22:21:37
Does Slot tell them not to tackle, not to win headers, not to win second balls, and to turn your back on every opposition shot?

0

14 Apr 2026 22:26:10
We were far from shocking. We did lack a bit of quality up front.

3

14 Apr 2026 22:26:51
What I would give for prime Mascherano or Fabinho back. We need that steel and protection through the middle. I also hate watching us chase a game where Slot just throws on all the attacks and we lose all our shape, has that worked once this year?

4

14 Apr 2026 23:02:37
The people saying "we don't need to sign any midfielders, it's the same midfield that won the title last season" are the same people that said "we don't need to sign midfielders, we nearly won the quad last season" in the summer before the 22/23 season, you were wrong then and you're wrong now.

2

14 Apr 2026 17:57:36
I just want to say: H'on the Red Men tonight!!! Win or lose, I just want to see them give it a right go! Enjoy the match all, especially yous in Anfield!!

8

14 Apr 2026 18:05:48
That's all I've wanted all season, have a go and entertain the fans. All out assault on PSG from the off, start slow they batter us.

5

14 Apr 2026 18:41:58
PSG are one of those teams. Sit back, and they will control the game, attack, and they will hurt us on the break. Now, if everyone was fit and in form, it could be a different story. I just don't see a miracle happening with the way we have been this season.

5

14 Apr 2026 19:06:43
Yeah, they're lethal either way. We have to have our best game in probably two or three seasons to put three past them. Villa's game against them shows that they can be got at tho.

1

14 Apr 2026 19:07:56
Agree with all of the above. Praying for a special European night at Anfield. I'm confident we win, big ask not to concede considering where we're at the moment, though. Up the Reds!!!

0

14 Apr 2026 19:27:07
Agreed, Fields. If we had the team from 2019 or 2022 we'd smash them.

1

14 Apr 2026 19:27:16
I like the line up. Looks like he is going for the early goal, hopefully by half time and bring on Salah or Ngoumha.

2

14 Apr 2026 21:06:28
If we had the manager we did in 2019 or 2022, we would as well, Magico. 😂
