Not Wirtz bashing and i hope he comes good buuuut
If he was to go in the summer who do we think we can get in as part of a swap deal for him??
The obvious is Olise but was wondering what other options people would like??
20 Sep 2026 20:44:29
You don't have to replace like for like. Could move Szob up to 10 and invest in a proper midfielder.
I still have hope for Wirtz, but today was a stinker for him!
{Ed666's Note - you have to persevere with Wirtz for the foreseeable and hope he comes good if not sell in the summer. What gives you the impression slob will do a better job in that position than Wirtz?
20 Sep 2026 20:48:01
Szob isn't a 10. He has no idea what to do in the final third.
20 Sep 2026 20:50:01
He has had more stinkers than good games, or even half decent games. He gets treated like royalty because of his price tag but he has been a massive disappointment and I think people need to take their tinted spectacles off. He is a £100m+ player who cannot complete a pass, cannot tackle, and most importantly, does not score or assist.
I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't want away at end of the season. It looks pretty clear from his performances that he hasn't settled and probably isn't going to. I remember waiting and waiting and waiting for Baros to settle and he never did. But even baros scored the odd goal.
{Ed666's Note - and Baros won a CL 🤣
20 Sep 2026 21:11:54
I hope he comes good & we get to see the Wirtz that plays internationally or for Leverkusen. We might actually see him perform better in CL that high paced PL.
If we get to the end of the season & he's not delivering then there's a conversation to have especially if Bayern are interested & Olise is available possibility.
AI plays with a 10, but I'm not sure that Dom is that player as we were bemoaning the lack of creativity during the championship season.
Regardless of who plays the 10 there needs to be a reworking of the midfield pivot. To keep it needs to be one of Macca/Dom with a more natural holding midfielder, or if Macca departs then Wharton could be a replacement. With stability in front of the defence that would allow your 10 to be able to be freer to push forward & influence the game.
20 Sep 2026 21:12:55
Perhaps Klopp can help fix him as well.
{Ed666's Note - That’s a great shout. 3 weeks with Klopp and he’s gonna come back as primo Roberto baggio 🙏🏼
20 Sep 2026 21:22:42
I just don't think wirtz has the confidence/arrogance needed to play no.10. Ability there but plays so timidly, we can blame all around him all we like but he just hasn't been good enough nor near it since he signed.
I'd love for him to come good for us but I just can't see it. Probably likes of bayern would suit him where it a turkey shoot 8 games out of 10 in the bundesliga, get his confidence up and probably show the ability he has.
{Ed666's Note - confidence is transient tho no? Let’s not go full Jamie carragher just yet let’s give him till the end of the season
20 Sep 2026 21:26:19
Wirtz will have a blinder for Germany then return to the Prem where it'll be too much for him again. I doubt even Klopp can fix that unfortunately.
{Ed666's Note - I don’t think I can take 3 weeks of this shite
20 Sep 2026 22:04:13
He's going to be the difference maker for us this season. The more he plays with Isak and Barcola, the more the chemistry will build.
They've had half a dozen competitive games under a new manager with new coaches coming off a World Cup where they all played in different systems with different teammates.
The chemistry will not be there yet. It would be crazy to expect it to be. The international window will mix things up again unfortunately.
It will be gradual improvement then there'll be a game when it clicks and we'll look back and think why did we even doubt them.
20 Sep 2026 22:11:56
Irrespective of the Wirtz performance, I think an away win at a tough place like Bournemouth and a clean sheet is really good. Some good things to be positive about, and maybe some not so positive things. I really like this Jacquet boy and Araujo too. I do agree, the balance in midfield is not right. It kind of reminds me of an under 11 team when no one wants to do the dirty work and everyone bombs forward.
We look much more solid without Frimpong and Gravenberch in the team. I think there is a way back for Gravenberch if he is willing to work hard. But I can't see a way back for Frimpong. He's a liability that boy.
20 Sep 2026 22:38:11
Unfortunately Wirtz doesn't have a particular strong, disciplined or effective midfield behind him like David Silva or Kevin DeBruyne had the benefit of.
{Ed666's Note - this
20 Sep 2026 22:52:22
Logged on to to the same about Wirtz, hoping Klopp can manipulate some kind of miracle with him. Something just isn't clicking.
20 Sep 2026 17:31:45
I think as a club and as fans we need to move away from these £100 million plus signings and target players that actually suit the managers style and tactics.
Isak will score goals, like today but these players are not taking control of games.
Wirtz was signed for games like this. He looks lost.
Unfortunately I can't see it happening for him in this league.
It happens. There have been proven world class players who just cannot do it in the Prem.
He won't be the first and won't be the last.
20 Sep 2026 17:51:01
Edwards and his vision is what was really lost.
Laptop boys are not managers.
20 Sep 2026 18:00:22
Well said Molby and Duke. Recruitment has been a mess for a while, although Jacquet and Araujo look good so far.
20 Sep 2026 19:00:52
I don't recall a single negative post about signing Wirtz at the time.
20 Sep 2026 19:19:30
I suspect the disappointment of £100m+ forwards will be a topic of debate all season while we have midfield and fullbacks that cannot provide a consistent base for the forward line.
I'm happy for the points. Iraola is going to have to do his best with the tools he has until January at the earliest, more likely next summer.
{Ed666's Note - this problem has a very simple solution Camara or another central midfielder, a right winger and a proper right back. If they get this right we can challenge for the prem and the CL. It’s not rocket science to say that we’re 3 players away from a stellar squad.
20 Sep 2026 19:26:11
So we need a Time Machine so we can go back to when players cost ten shillings and a packet of fags?
20 Sep 2026 19:24:39
Agree Quo because we all thought the idiot recruitment team would bring in the players to help Wirtz succeed but obviously this never happened.
Unfortunately he doesn't seem to be able to adapt to an ever increasing physical Premier League.
Hope he does but it is not looking likely.
20 Sep 2026 19:42:24
Time Machine out!
20 Sep 2026 20:29:46
I'd agree with you, Ed. Add that balance and there's no reason why we can't challenge.
While I think Big Ron is doing a decent job at RB, it does bring into focus Kerkez's on the ball deficiency.
{Ed666's Note - I’d be inclined to play JG at right back at some stage because we’ll have to give Ronald a rest and I we need at all costs to keep JJ fit & healthy also.
20 Sep 2026 20:30:58
The thing that worries me Ed666 about your reply is that we knew coming into the season that we need to work on those positions and nothing got done.
My main worries were today:
- Wirtz, even as a defender of him, today I saw nothing
- We mainly didn't have a lot of danger down the right side.
- And that we still are lacking depth in the midfield.
So I don't feel a lot of confidence on the recruiters.
{Ed666's Note - if you & I and the whole fanbase worldwide know we’re lacking in 3 positions then Im certain the powers that be that sign players know we’re deficient. I think Hughes was so bad at his job that squad building differed as a result. Let’s hope the new man can remedy Hughes’ wrongs. To be honest it’s not a tough ask.
20 Sep 2026 22:10:28
Not only did Hughes not buy the positions we needed, he also bought players we didn't. Wirtz being the prime example, but there are others as well.
That's why we lack confidence Ed. It's not hard to know what we needed, it's difficult to know why the board allowed the likes of Hughes and Edwards to do what they did.
{Ed666's Note - We can only affect what we have now not what decisions were made previously by people who aren’t at the club anymore. We just have to right those wrongs and make sure the January window and the summer ones are near perfect as we don’t have much room for error
20 Sep 2026 14:59:31
Just a reminder. We have the highest wage bill in the league.
I hope a clean out begins immediately when a top sporting director hopefully comes in. Time to really clean up the squad and move on several players and some of them the bigger earners.
If begin that from January.
You have to build a squad to a style of play. Some of these guy's have to go.
20 Sep 2026 15:50:47
Where are you getting your figures from @Rion? In fact, do you have the figures to prove your statement?
20 Sep 2026 15:56:13
Have anything nice to say Ron?
20 Sep 2026 16:20:16
Plenty of quality for the manager to work with then right? Liverpool don't buy bad players, it's up to the manager to get the best out of them.
20 Sep 2026 16:23:01
Pretty sure it's the fourth highest, behind: City, Arsenal & United - we went highest the season we won the league (bonus payments)
20 Sep 2026 16:35:59
Players fixed wages per week not including bonuses:-
Arsenal £198.9m
Chelsea £163.6m
Liverpool £220.3m
Man City £233.2m
Man United £196m
Spurs £138.4m
Aston Villa £151m
Source Capology.
20 Sep 2026 16:47:40
Says 177m per year on the figs I've seen, excluding bonuses. Second highest in the league.
20 Sep 2026 16:44:48
If you watch enough games Ron, you may eventually see something you approve of.
20 Sep 2026 16:55:22
Not sure that those figures are to be trusted. Arsenal and Spurs seem low - particularly with Spurs' recent spending spree. I'd also be very surprised if clubs paid that much per week.
As an aside just a little factoid . despite our non-existent midfield and dodgy defence we haven't conceded a PL goal for the month of September. The fact amused me.
20 Sep 2026 17:03:37
R u sure per week?
That's nearly £11 billion per year.
Thanks.
20 Sep 2026 17:09:25
165.1m fixed according to a quick ai search.
20 Sep 2026 18:25:58
Imagine being Ron Funk.
20 Sep 2026 20:08:24
Nightmare fuel that.
20 Sep 2026 09:22:52
Chema Andres had a good game for Brighton yesterday i'm sure we were linked with him. Brighton paid £15mill. Why didn't we move for him in the end? Scared to take the risk of £15mill. Would have been the deals that Hughes would have done for Bournemouth! Looks like a young Rodri and will probably be worth £70mill plus next season.
20 Sep 2026 09:50:31
Brighton played impressive, their press was miles above ours.
Some incredible approach play as well, should have scored 5
Maybe we need their midfield.
20 Sep 2026 10:00:04
It's not about Liverpool afraid of taking a £15 million risk. There are obvious reasons why teams like Brighton and Bournemouth can buy these types of players and Liverpool can't. I think Ron posted something explaining it far better than I could a few weeks back, wages and first team opportunities etc.
20 Sep 2026 10:39:41
In essence what Irish said, players have time at teams like Brighton.
Time to settle in.
Time to find their feet.
Time to adjust.
Fans have more patience.
At top teams players don't have that luxury. 1 bad game, gets forgiven.
2 games fans call for them to be dropped.
3 they are a flop and they should be out the door.
That's why they can take the "risk" and look at players to develop and bring on. The big boys need the final product most of the time as they have to hit the ground running without question.
20 Sep 2026 11:37:54
Had LFC bought Andres, it would have been easy for him to come in displace one of our midfielders.
The player himself would have known that there would an opportunity for him in that midfield.
At LFC we give players time to adjust, time to find their feet, time to settle as well.
20 Sep 2026 12:20:31
Yes I appreciate that may be your opinion star. This whole page on a weekly basis says otherwise.
I have seen £100m players written off in 3 months.
20 Sep 2026 13:27:05
I am talking about Brighton buying young promising players and giving them a chance.
I think LFC can also buy young, promising players and can give them an opportunity as well.
Currently, there is so much opportunity for young players to stake a claim in the squad and with Iraola who is willing to work with and develop young players and give them minutes, this should be a route we should explore.
20 Sep 2026 14:08:37
That's nonsense, I saw Rio Ngumoha getting written off last season, he was 17 years old. If a Liverpool player isn't immediately up to the required level they get written off by the fans.
20 Sep 2026 16:08:51
We have promising young players, and they are getting a chance.
I could have sworn I just saw Koumas, Nyoni and Munoz on the pitch against Bournemouth.
Don't they count?
20 Sep 2026 16:09:17
Would love LFC to be able to unearth these talented players - the issue is can you imagine the meltdown if we went and bought the odd unknown player rather than spending £100m on a proven one. They wouldn't be afforded any slack when came into team "why is he been picked" etc.
20 Sep 2026 17:46:43
Fifth, who wrote Rio off? The fans or the coach?
19 Sep 2026 18:06:57
Seen a few bits today saying we are interested in and have met with Brentfords technical director, Lee Dykes. I'm assuming this is as a Hughes replacement.
Is this guy any good? I have to say I know next to nothing about him.
19 Sep 2026 20:00:22
There's a good article on a page called training ground guru outlining the way he works. He has brought some good players, Sangare, Kayode, Thiago, Toney, Watkins.
20 Sep 2026 05:48:19
According to the reports there are 3 candidates in to replace the Richard Hughes position.
Julian Ward, (already at Liverpool)Lee Dykes and Phil Giles, both from Brentford.
I don't know much about these two but hopefully they are better than Hughes.
20 Sep 2026 10:40:55
Julian Ward is the preferred candidate, but Lee Dykes has seriously impressed.
20 Sep 2026 11:57:39
I thought David Woodfine, the Assistant Sporting Director at LFC, was also short listed.
19 Sep 2026 17:29:53
Liverpool must get use to "not being able to train" says Andoni Iraola and talk of Dom going to RB. Is that Arne walking around in an Andoni mask or something? 😂.
19 Sep 2026 17:49:15
I see very little difference so far other than koumas chasing shadows.
19 Sep 2026 19:02:50
Them shadows existed last season only we didn't chase them.
19 Sep 2026 19:41:30
Very little difference?
Ok, well I do and I know a lot of others who do too.
19 Sep 2026 19:45:17
Slots hands were severly tied last season. Klopp would not have finished higher than 3rd with the make up of that squad, the injuries, Mo tantrum and of course the cruel loss of oir Diogo. can't imagine how the new signings felt walking into that pre season after what happened.
The fact is AI has had a easier (albeit not perfect pre season due to WC) the benefit of fresh start, Isak and Wirtz finally able to play together, reinforcements at CB, and pace on the wings. All priviledges Slot didn't have and i still don't expect AI to finish higher than 3rd this season. Not becuase of his ability as a coach (as i really rate him and like him) but the squad is still gelling and is unbalanced.
For what its worth, i think this group has a really high ceiling and will start peaking from 2027/2028 onwards with a few tweaks in summer. And I love AI.
But the treatment to Slot last season was totally unfair. i'm still convinced if he was a little more handsome and beat his chest the fans would have wanted him around a little longer.
19 Sep 2026 20:16:31
funky, what's all this about not finishing higher than 3rd?
We finished 5th last season, 1 place above Iraola's Bournemouth.
If you think Iraola and Klopp wouldn't have finished higher than 5th last season with Liverpool's squad then that's a meaningful statement but one I find rather bizarre.
19 Sep 2026 21:11:56
Ron, i said not higher than 3rd (as in 1st or 2nd) not 4th.
AI is 4 games into the season and we saw the struggles in the Fulham game with fatigue. Slot has less options last season and was not able to rotate.
For what its worth I rate Klopp and AI more than Slot but no way either of them were finishing ahead of City or Arsenal with only on Striker, 2CBs, no pacey widemen, and a grieving squad.
I don't see how my statement is so bizarre.
19 Sep 2026 21:28:17
Klopp would have pissed the league last year. City and Arsenal both trying to gift it to each other. He'd of snatched that.
19 Sep 2026 21:46:03
In your dreams Florian! Hows that Spurs prediction coming along?
NoMoreBoom, best get down to specsavers mate. Obviously it will take time to completely iron out bad habits developed over the last 2 years, but there's definitely been clear changes to our approach, we're trying to progress the ball quicker, we're actually pressing for a change, quite aggressively, and doing it much better as a unit (at times). We're taking more risks and not just endlessly recycling the ball.
19 Sep 2026 22:20:36
&Funky, you are really Arne Slot and I claim my 5 guilders.
19 Sep 2026 23:00:04
My predictions for the season always happen Chew, you know that😉.Might have to re-think that Spurs one😂.Lot of games to go in fairness, and I think Spurs are better than what their lowly position suggests.
{Ed666's Note - I agree I think spurs will have a renaissance and win at least 5 games this season. 😁. I’m not sure they can afford to sack De Zerbi isn’t he on monstrous wages?
19 Sep 2026 23:00:59
Sorry. Last season was bad, not a Liverpool standard season - the stats and points tally prove it. Goals conceded, set pieces disasters, high possession with nothing to show for it. Disorganised when losing the ball. And it goes on. That's coaching.
Slot did have a lot to deal with starting with Jota which was so, so sad. Mo lost it, Ali Mac not himself, Grav aol, Wirtz all over the place, injuries galore - tough for Slot.
I'd never be too hard on Slot but the season was poor and he didn't seem to know how to improve it. Same thing week in week out.
AI is totally different IMO.
20 Sep 2026 02:55:08
have to agree with Funky. Let. us see what AI can do. Still long way to go.
However AI is getting lot of Honeymoon love for now which is fair as he is new but borderline sometimes as for the same performance, Slot was slaughtered.
Love for Klopp is over the roof without reality.
No one will be able to tell what or where we would have finished if AI or Klopp would have been in place of Slot last year.
But for sure Klopp would have had morst sympathy of the three.
{Ed666's Note - im having a real problem understanding what you’re trying to say but that could me being stupid.
20 Sep 2026 03:44:37
If you see how we're playing now and see it as the same as Slot then I have to question if you're actually watching us play this season. The energy is back, the press is back, and the hard work is back too. Granted there are some down times during the games but there are more positives than negatives for me imo.
20 Sep 2026 09:02:28
In my opinion we've definitely improved from last season and look to have a game plan, which was really hard to see last season under Slot, but we're still short on quality at fullback, have no defensive midfielder and our marquee signings (Isak and Wirtz) don't suit our style of play in my humble opinion (hope they prove me wrong).
20 Sep 2026 09:59:12
Perhaps I was inaccurate saying that I see no difference. However after 5 games last season we had 15 points, scored 11 and conceded 5. So yes I was incorrect there is a difference between this year and last. My bad.
20 Sep 2026 12:36:02
Last season we were absolutely scraping victories by the skin of our nut bag, we shouldn't have won half of them. There was no cohesion between the players, there was no clear approach, just endless sideways and backwards passing.
20 Sep 2026 17:29:22
We definitely should have finished higher than 5th last season. I mean United finished above us and they are dire. Klopp would 100% got last years team higher up the League.
{Ed666's Note - And if my uncle was my auntie he’d make a great lamb biriyani
18 Sep 2026 21:18:25
I've heard that Ndukwe now has the the work permit points to be able to be recalled and play for us now, is this true?
18 Sep 2026 21:41:35
Yes it is, only took one game.
If you search for his name, there was a thread about this a couple of days ago.
19 Sep 2026 03:02:17
I hope he stays where he's at. It will help his development. We could bring him back next year depending on what we do with big Verge and Ronnie.
19 Sep 2026 07:43:05
He might come back in Jan, I don't think he's getting games where he is.
19 Sep 2026 08:13:59
He's played on the last 2 @Ron.
19 Sep 2026 09:13:27
He's getting games, that's how he's got the points Ron.
19 Sep 2026 09:32:42
Depending on injuries by Jan, I'd let him stay out there if he's playing well. Better he be getting game time than be 4th, 5th or 6th choice CB.
19 Sep 2026 14:56:02
If he keeps getting games then he probably will stay, worth keeping an eye on it.
19 Sep 2026 16:02:57
He's played 1 match, just 19 minutes out of a potential 320. He actually got most of the points he needs just from registering with Levante. He's played just under 6% of available minutes; if things continue like that, there's absolutely no point in leaving him out there.
He went on loan to get the points for the permit, he has them now, the club will likely consider calling him back in January.
20 Sep 2026 07:27:59
Chewy were they 80 minute matches 😂😂😂😂.
20 Sep 2026 09:24:03
The second game Ndukwe played in was abandoned after 19 minutes - he played a full game the match before.
18 Sep 2026 23:21:32
Just seen a story saying we've agreed a deal for January window for RW Djylian N'Guessan from St. Etienne. presumably nonsense as I can't see links or story anywhere else but maybe the club learned from its mistakes and is moving quicker now? One can hope so.
Anyone know anything about the player?
18 Sep 2026 18:33:56
Rush has gone to Juventus.
18 Sep 2026 18:40:07
We signed the deal a couple of weeks ago, in fact it was reported on the official website on 4 Sep. I think the story you have just read may just be recycling news (or very late to the party!)
18 Sep 2026 19:06:20
Hello ma77,
Because LFC had already exhausted their maximum allocation of international loan slots for the summer transfer window, they structured an unusual arrangement, N'Guessan will spend the first half of the 26-27 season on loan at Ligue 1 Brest.
He then completes his permanent LFC transfer in the January 27 winter transfer window, LFC can then integrate him into the squad, leave him at Brest or find an alternative. And i'm not Guess-an?
Zed is correct the fee is £4.5 million Pounds, and an old article.
18 Sep 2026 18:45:42
You're about 2 weeks behind mate, that story was published on the official Liverpool website a while back. You wouldn't know anything about him because the kid just turned 18 and only had 13 senior games under his belt at the time.
19 Sep 2026 01:22:39
😉 To be fair @Chewy, there are people out there, some of them even LFC fans, who aren't wuiteas fixated as most of us on this site 😁😁.
19 Sep 2026 08:23:28
Won't anyone think of the children?
18 Sep 2026 09:22:25
Over the next two windows I think it would be pretty straightforward for Liverpool to become challengers in all fronts again with some simple additions and sales.
I trust Andoni will know what he needs.
I don't trust FSG or the new group understand what type of DOF we require.
RB- Depends on Araujo and how he performs, the club will persist with Connor Bradley too for now.
LB- Someone mentioned Mitchell from Palace maybe a good idea?
MID- A combo of Camara and Sadiki would be an excellent piece of business by the club. Wharton is a NO from me, not what we need.
RW- Not convinced by any of the options over the past summer, Rayan at £130m is included in that.
Time will tell but we should be scouring all leagues for the next standout. Minteh might be a better option but not for more than £60-65m
FW- definitely required, Ekitike will struggle for a while, Isak will get better but will struggle with fitness from time to time.
El Junior Kroupi might be a good shout, once it is known he has recovered from the current injury?
18 Sep 2026 10:35:34
Alex Scott looks a top player to me. would like us to go for him.
18 Sep 2026 10:48:17
I hate to say it and hope i'm wrong but Bradley will always struggle with injuries, he's only 23 and already you'd say he's injury prone. He's missed 89 games in 3 seasons with multiple injuries to his back, knees, ankles, muscles.
Cracking player but his body isn't up to it.
18 Sep 2026 11:00:18
Pretty sure Defoe retired some years ago, why is he required?
18 Sep 2026 12:43:37
We're miles away.
18 Sep 2026 12:53:22
I can't see us buying another forward anytime soon, to be honest. Perhaps a RW, but AI also seems intent on having our stable of LWs play across the front line, so who knows.
I'm reasonably satisfied so far with Araujo at RB. That seems to have staunched the bleeding at that position.
A stronger midfield spine and competition for Kerkez at LB would both do very nicely though.
18 Sep 2026 13:19:36
Instead of Kroupi, why don't we give Khoumas a chance? Isak, Ekitike and Khoumas should do for the CF position.
18 Sep 2026 13:22:11
We need 2 midfielders a right forward a right and left back.
Bradley is nowhere near good enough to be first choice but great squad player I would say Kerkez is not good enough to be first choice unless there is a rapid improvement but again good back up.
We need a number 6 and an 8 for our midfield then Szoboszlai and Wirtz can fight it out for the 10 spots and also give cover for low and rw and maybe the 8 spot for Szoboszlai if we have a dominant 6 behind him.
For me Gravenberch should be moved on as fast as possible I like said the other day he has been here now for 3 and a bit season and performed for about 4 months in that time the rest of the time he has been awful.
So I would say Gravenberch is not good enough because the 4 months is an anomaly.

Don't think kerkez is the answer, had enough chances and not good enough for us, move him on in Jan.

That's ruthless DarrenA, only joined the same time as Wirtz and Isak. Give the bloke a chance have the team have been crap since then 😂.

How will it be straightforward to challenge on all fronts if we don't get the DoF that we need?
18 Sep 2026 17:02:02
Both FB positions need filled. Bradley's style of play will lead to further injuries and Kerkez isn't top level. Midfield targets should be like Henderson and Milner rather than the lightweights we have with the flair from the front 3.

Mitchell wouldn't be first choice, i think an extensions of 1 year was activated so this is his final year, he's an upgrade on the (sorry to say) clueless Kerkez, Mitchell seems to have grown more comfortable into that wingback role too.

Going by the end of the summer transfer window, I think we will bring in 1 player in January and that will either be a RW or a Midfielder. If Barcola and Munoz do ok playing off the right then I think it will be a midfielder and prob Camara. Gakpo, Rio, ekiteke, Wirtz can all play off the left.
I don't think AI fancies Grav but we will know for sure by January. Kerkez will get the season to prove he can do it and we have enough cover at right back until Bradley returns. In the summer, Grav, frimpong, will likely be sold and we will then look at the right side again.

I trust the manager to know what we need and what we don't.

To be honest, it's good fun guessing, but the club seems to have shut down the leaks, or so it seems when Mike Gordon shunned Edwards. Nobody on here had a ckue about Muniz or Araujo. Might just be interesting to see what the club actually does rather than rely on people's assumptions that the club will do what the fans think is best.
That said, in an ideal world I'd imagine that the club agree with me and will buy Hall. Sadiki and Camara.😉.
{Ed666's Note - it was interesting to read on the BBC website that we have spoken to the guy at Brentford for the SD role. Personally I would get Ward to do the January transfer window an interim appointment and then that will give us some breathing space in order to make a more informed decision and see which caliber sporting director is available come the summer

I think the whole time I've been a Liverpool fan we have either been 2 windows or 2 signings away from challenging on all fronts lol (apart from the golden Klopp years obviously)

I'd move Grav on and bring Camara in during the January window. Maybe Minteh if he's recovered.
Get a specialist RB at the end of season and find an option to compete with Kerkez at LF, whether that's Chambers or sell Tsimi and buy a LB.
I think Araujo, Jacquet and VVD should be used as CBs ideally to keep all 3 fresh till Leoni is back. Maybe try Gomez and Frimpong at RB till we can buy one.

@1985Mikey, I hear you. The OP has a good plan but I can see what the flaw is and it's what you are talking about. We went out and bought 3 players in the summer window who are all good players but Chelsea bought 13. It seems to me that we always try and fix the current situation and the other sneaky side at Chelsea, Arsenal, United etc do the same thing so we are no better off.
I like this buying the best if the 17 / 18 year old that we can get our hands on. I'm hoping the other clubs haven't sussed that yet 😉.
