Linked with Barnet keeper McKenznie-lyle.

1.) 01 Aug 2018 09:53:51
Isn't he the lad we currently have on trial with 1 of the youth teams?

2.) 01 Aug 2018 09:54:34
6”7! 20 yrs old. Apparently he’s already been on trial.

3.) 01 Aug 2018 09:56:42
Yep, been on a 1 week trial with our U-23s recently.

4.) 01 Aug 2018 10:08:31
I'm assuming that means they are looking at one of the young lads being promoted to no.3.

i hope it isn't the case as the young lads need games!

5.) 01 Aug 2018 10:10:03
Sounds like a tall tale to me.

6.) 01 Aug 2018 13:17:14
Yep he was in Hungary with the U-23s and played in the 1-1 draw with ETO Gyor.

7.) 01 Aug 2018 14:22:08
Never seen him play for Barnet, think he's only made one or two appearances and I don't get down there as much anymore, but whenever I've seen him warming up I've always thought that he was very slow getting down to low balls. Like he looked like he was moving in slow motion. That being said, I'd love a Barnet lad to make it to Liverpool (especially after the shame of a Barnet lad landing at Everton) so hope he impresses!

8.) 01 Aug 2018 15:45:23
He was at spurs up to u14 level and then to Barnet. I fear we are not getting an experienced keeper in as number 3 especially as grabara has a squad number 73 according to the Liverpool u23 webpage.

We have four young well thought of keepers at the club Ben Williams and Daniel Atherton will be 19 this year Kelleher and Grabara are only a matter of months older than them.

Considering their ages should we not be organising loans out for them rather than signing more keepers of a similar age, unless the answer to our defensive issues is playing two keepers at a time.

26 Jul 2018 13:06:32
BBC reporting 2 year deal with Vida agreed?

1.) 26 Jul 2018 13:09:15
You mean from the gossip page? Which references a Turkish paper?

2.) 26 Jul 2018 13:43:13
We wouldn't pay nearly £30 million for a player on a 2 year deal.

3.) 26 Jul 2018 13:44:02
I hope we don't sign him, rather play gomez.

4.) 26 Jul 2018 16:36:47
Wow is that gossip page still there? god knows how, it's about as useless as twatter!

True ninja, me too mate.

5.) 26 Jul 2018 17:47:50
Never mind Gomez, id rather play razor ruddock in his current shape than the croatian shaun micheals.

6.) 26 Jul 2018 18:30:34
Many people I’d rather play than ruddock!

{Ed025's Note - he was crap at his peak firmane mate..

7.) 26 Jul 2018 18:33:58
Salah, come on man it's a gossip page and has given me years of ammo to wind up my non LFC supporting work mates, over the mules they have been linked with (and us :D )

8.) 27 Jul 2018 08:42:03
Thank you all so much, that's the most thumbs down I've ever got on here, I feel privileged you cared enough to both read and click the button 😉.

9.) 27 Jul 2018 14:04:19
Haha that is amazing McGoveb, nobody deserves that unless they quote the s*n, there you go mate, one little thumbs up from aoe. It’s worth thrice the average clicks don’t you know.

10.) 27 Jul 2018 17:56:56
Aoe, bizarre ok but hey it’s nice to be noticed lol.

15 Feb 2018 16:36:17

Have we any interest in Salif Sane from Hannover. Been watching a bit more Bundesliga this year and he seems excellent. Currently has the third highest rating in the Bundesliga.

He’s a big strong Senegalese CB, wins lots of aerial battles and has 6 MOTM this season. Older than some we have been linked to but looks excellent.

{Ed001's Note - not heard of any interest from us in him.}

30 Jan 2018 08:59:37
So after two very poor performances will Klopp swing the axe and shake things up?
Karius has to come back, Gomez must replace TAA and either Klavan or Lovren for the inept Matip.
I read last night ome great posts on playing Hendo and Ox as the two, Mane and Salah on the wings which I think is a great shout. Can and Wini have had enough chances and if nothing else dropping them in a World Cup year might put a well deserved rocket up their backsides.
Another great shout on one of the pages was Ings up top who is a terrier and deserves a chance and a Firminho playing in a free role.
It’s Huddersfield next so we’re not expecting all out attack against us. Klopp needs to start shaking things up and showing players that abject performances will not be tolerated. A few games in the bench for Can and Wini might just change their attitudes, hopefully for the better.

1.) 30 Jan 2018 10:16:41
Dropping gini won't perk him up for the world cup as he's watching from his couch anyway. TAA I think would be worth playing tonight as he's better going forward than gomez. Is tonight a chance to play gomez CB with VVD? Klopps stated tactics were to blame against Swansea so expect a formation change, I doubt a 442 or 4411 but possibly 3 at the back or 4132. On the transfer front, no more in this window, shame we didn't challenge for PEA. I'm the summer, a gk, cdm and a striker to replace studge and probably ings departures.

2.) 30 Jan 2018 10:16:58
The problem is this. Bringing Henderson back in is probably sensible, now that he is over his latest injury, but then who if you drop both Can and Wijnaldum, it means almost certainly that James Milner will play in centre midfield and he is a liability at the best of times in that position.

3.) 30 Jan 2018 10:19:13
I'd go Klavan, solid, unspectacular and until he was dropped, had cut out making silly mistakes. Never thought I would say that but there you go.

4.) 30 Jan 2018 10:33:57
Mr Dennis. reread the original post. he clearly states both hendo and the Ox in midfield to replace Gini and can and a switch to 442 risk formation. Milner wouldn't need to start

5.) 30 Jan 2018 11:08:47
Klopp isn't going to go 442, he isn't Roy Hodgson.

{Ed001's Note - he has gone 4-4-2 quite a few times.}

6.) 30 Jan 2018 11:13:27
Shake things up?!

With what?!

Have you seen our bench?

7.) 30 Jan 2018 11:52:26
Mr Dennis, as ED001 has alluded to Klopp has already tried this formation a few times this season, and with Keita arriving in the summer you should expect it to happen more often! 442 isn't a bad way of setting up a modern team, ask athletico Madrid and Leicester city. rather than assuming only a dinasuar like Roy Hodson would use it 😉.

8.) 30 Jan 2018 13:01:39
Formations don't win matches . Players do.
Good players
Clever players
Hungry players
Find a way to win
Do we have them?
Not sure.

9.) 30 Jan 2018 13:03:46
The difference is this, the title winning Leicester side had and current Atletico side have the players to be able sit back and soak up pressure when needed as both played on the counter and soaked up pressure, we lack any players that have that ability. Not one of our midfielders are at the level of Kante (who was so good that the team felt like it was having two players instead of one and he even made Drinkwater look like a footballer) or Niguez and Koke. Not one of our midfielders are as good as those players or ever will be, name me one midfielder that we have that even comes close? It is like entering an Austin Maestro into a grand prix and hoping to win.

{Ed001's Note - would it be the MG version of the Maestro though?}

10.) 30 Jan 2018 14:56:22
Shake things up in Kevin Murphy's box of rice (musical instrument) obviously mate :)

11.) 30 Jan 2018 15:25:37
For me the 4-3-3 is the best formation for us.

The issue for me is the lack of creativity and protection offered from our midfield 3. Hendo on his day can offer both of these things but since his string of injuries has failed to show his true ability.

Coutinho obviously offered the creativity to feed clever balls to the front 3 in tight spaces. This has been our main issue in the last 2 games against teams who are happy to sit and defend. We have had a huge percentage of the possession but it has all been slow and sideways.

In terms of protection I can't remember the last time that we had a quality DM who would sit there and help out the defence. Can and Wijnaldum have both had a go without much success. I don't know the number of goals that have resulted from Can giving the ball away in bad positions but from memory there have been several.

Keita will be a huge bonus when he joins but for me we will still need a 3rd quality central midfielder to play alongside Hendo (if he can prove himself fit and refind his form) and Keita.

If we can get in a top quality CM and a top quality GK for next season I would be a happy man.

12.) 30 Jan 2018 15:33:17
Hahaha Ed001 my mate had an mg maestro turbo not so long ago, was a bit of a state though.

{Ed001's Note - had it won any grands prix?}

13.) 30 Jan 2018 16:52:42
I think you’re spelling prix wrong Ed001.

{Ed001's Note - ah could be mate.}

14.) 30 Jan 2018 18:26:04
I think against the teams who sit deep and we struggle to break down I would like to see him swap Salah and Mane on the wings (I know they're preferred is to cut in) but having them on the wing and they're favoured foot on the outside will stop having them need to cut in where its always jam packed, I think this would solve a load of problems breaking these teams down - what's everyones thoughts.

15.) 30 Jan 2018 20:43:48
Cialb - I like how you are trying to think outside the box. Personally I think that would leave Firmino isolated in the middle and would also clog up the space our fullbacks would be running into. I suppose the fullbacks could move centrally in attack much like Lahm did at Bayern but Im not sure we have the players for that. TAA maybe but our left side I doubt.

16.) 31 Jan 2018 07:46:44
No Ed001 it didn’t win any Grand Prix, although it may have stood a chance after After god had spent years corroding the body away in an attempt to make it lighter and more competitive on the track.

{Ed001's Note - they were obviously designed for racing lightness being so easily corroded. I think the design team must have used rust to get round homologation issues and road legality.}

12 Nov 2017 10:49:19
Papers now claiming Can heading to City in the summer.

1.) 12 Nov 2017 11:51:56
'papers' says it all mate.

2.) 12 Nov 2017 12:02:27
And Sky Sports as well.

3.) 12 Nov 2017 13:39:11
Please Pep.
take him now.

4.) 12 Nov 2017 16:39:24
Then he should be dropped to the reserves for the rest of the season as his heart isn’t in it.

5.) 12 Nov 2017 17:27:19
Good shout Mr Dennis, can’t wait for Naby to join next season after a year in Liepzig’s reserves.

6.) 12 Nov 2017 20:05:21
I thought players can't agree anything pre contract wise from the same league or country.

7.) 12 Nov 2017 21:07:33
let him go nobody bigger than the club.

8.) 12 Nov 2017 21:40:22
As far as I’m concerned Can has made a decision that he doesn’t see his future at Liverpool. He sees it at Man City, which is fine. But since he has been a liability at times this season, his place would be better taken by Grujic who will be here next season. Can should be a bench warmer at best.

9.) 12 Nov 2017 22:11:29
I can't see him going to city, if he's worried about a long term starting spot then they would be a disaster for him. I can't see anything other than a free transfer to Juve in the summer.

10.) 13 Nov 2017 00:54:04
Amazing how people just believe whatever the papers say and launch into a player without any confirmation, even though these reports constantly get shown as rubbish.

11.) 13 Nov 2017 12:17:08
Hahaha he won't start at Man City. Gundogan doesn't start and only makes the old cameo how the hell will Can see the field behind him, Fernandinho, Yaya even!

{Ed002's Note - Gundogan ruptured his Cruciate Ligament keeping him pout for 9 months.}

12.) 13 Nov 2017 13:40:02
Damn fair enough Ed! I'd just rather see Can move abroad.

{Ed002's Note - Once he has left Liverpool it should be unimportant to you.}

13.) 13 Nov 2017 14:06:00
Tell that to Chelsea fans re Nemanja Matić.

14.) 13 Nov 2017 14:06:46
Of course.

15.) 13 Nov 2017 22:57:08
If Can's "heart isn't in it" he certainly has a funny way of showing that when he puts the shirt on. maybe he should take a lesson from Coutinho about how to perform when your heart isn't in it.

16.) 14 Nov 2017 12:35:16
Faithinworks that is why I don’t get the abuse. He is still putting in a shift, might not always be a good one but by all accounts the situation is one of he wants to be playing and the recruitment policy suggests to him that he won’t be a regular next season. Nowhere near the situation of Coutinho s amazing success in ruining his standing with the fans.

I would be very interested to hear which fans from another club would think their team played well after getting beaten 3-0.

1.) 02 May 2019 09:56:00
It’s not just Liverpool fans, it’s the general consensus in the media too. I’m discounting the last 10 minutes as we got desperate and got lucky not to concede another but over the rest of the game I thought we controlled the majority of the game and 1-0 was harsh scoreline at the time but 3-0 was heart breaking.

2.) 02 May 2019 10:09:10
You make a decent point and Barcelona deserved the win but I can’t remember the last time I’ve seen a match where Barcelona were bullied off the ball for so much of the match, their passing fell apart from pressing and most of their runs were cut off so effectively. I think a wilier team would have punished them last night and I’m hoping we learn from it. You might disagree and that’s fair enough but I genuinely think we relaxed, despite the threat on the break and the lads just continued racing forward instead of keeping them pinned back. They did us and that’s football though. Not sure we’ve got three goals in us for the return leg but we’ll give it a go.

3.) 02 May 2019 10:22:12
Brendan used to say that after (heavy) defeats - “we controlled the game”.

4.) 02 May 2019 10:29:41
It's football and this kind of thing can happen. The fact we are not used to it shows how far we have come. We should be proud of our players for the effort they have put in all season.
An early goal for us in Anfield and it's game on.

5.) 02 May 2019 10:50:45
aoe It just shows you haven't seen Barcelona for a very very long time.

This is their new version under velverde. They've sacrificed their swag and possession for substance under he's management.

In fact in he's couple of yrs he was criticised left right and centre by their fans and media but now it's normal for them.

even small teams in laliga run rings around them most of the times. But they only need 2/ 3 chances to kill you.

There's a reason a lot of plpl say they're not what they were few yrs back coz if u see them week in week out that's how most of the games they play. In fact if needed they can even go defensive and just keep on lumping the ball forward.

6.) 02 May 2019 12:02:50
Admittedly I haven’t seen them very much this season at all apart from highlights, but if that is their chosen style then their fans must be far far more forgiving than they used to be. I’m not opposed to defensive football but I would imagine there is a split in fans opinion if that’s the route they continue with in the long run. On a personal note, even though I don’t like the club, I think it’s a shame that there is (imo) ugly football chosen to be played there. It just seems wrong.

{Ed001's Note - the fans don't like or want Valverde.}

7.) 02 May 2019 16:55:59
Winning is winning, if they add the CL to the league the fans will get over it. Ron’s right about Rogers, he used to spout that nonsense all the time.
All I’m reading are IFs, they had ifs too on top of the 3 they put past us. We seemed to play like we did against City and that didn’t work out either. It’s not the same game as it was 10 or 20 years ago, we should have started with our best team and took it to them, if Bobby wasn’t fit why put him on the bench.
We have the front three and if any get injured or lose form there’s nothing there, need to rectify that if we want to compete next season again with a City and in CL.
Also although not his biggest fan ahendo has played really well lately in a more attacking role, yet didn’t seem to play that far up last nite.
We go again next week and we dream for a perfect performance from the team.

15 Mar 2019 11:28:28
Super draw, we can have zero complaints about that, and stay away from use and and city till final (fingers crossed)

1.) 15 Mar 2019 11:54:09
Tell you what Mc, that will be one heck of a final if it were to happen but a lot to play for before that.

2.) 15 Mar 2019 11:55:22
You right, very good draw, Barcelona in the semi won't be easy. (no disrespect to Utd, but I expect Barcelona to beat them)

3.) 15 Mar 2019 12:14:10
I think united could very well surprise a few people over 2 legs.

4.) 15 Mar 2019 12:23:56
Honestly? I wanted to get the Mancs to put Solksjaer back in his box, but I guess I'll have to settle for making Coutinho cry in the semis instead.

5.) 15 Mar 2019 13:32:20
You and me both stuie.

6.) 15 Mar 2019 19:32:34
I'm with stuie, I can see an upset for the catalans. But I'm not discounting Porto, still a decent team in front of us before we start thinking about the semi.

14 Mar 2019 10:10:36
Mane still rubbing his leg at end of match after that crunching tackle he received on edge of box, anybody hear if it's a potential issue?

1.) 14 Mar 2019 13:42:38
I have heard the club are quite worried about Mane rubbing his leg in public, but after scoring 2 last night, i'm sure there won't be a shortage of people offering to do it for him. :)

2.) 14 Mar 2019 18:20:55
Wanna start an inquiry into it, McGoveb?

12 Mar 2019 07:21:12
Eds, do you have a Cheltenham page running or a tips page? Thought there was something last year.
Apologies not football related but wasn't sure where else to post

{Ed033's Note - Yes,

Cheltenham tips page

While I do think our transfer business is completed for this window (incomings) I will miss the banter and mayhem that goes with the last minute buys, it's such good fun.

A great window for the club as a whole (maybe a few more outgoings would have been nice) but we are much stronger than last season, so let's get it On.

A question to consider is will the front 3 improve if the players pushing them are Origi and another 20 to 30 mill player (which buys very little in this day) or will they improve with another player of equal calibre to them joins knowing they maintain form or they get a rest on the bench? There is also the fact that all 3 had poor spells during the season and really only sturridge was used in their place and he was very ineffectual. Now he is gone maybe Origi gets more minutes but will Klopp continue to play the front 3 hoping they regain form or will he use Origi.

If I'm honest I would think that had sturridge shown any signs of being a footballer during his starts and substitutions then he, not Origi, would have come on in final.
In my opinion I think competition needs to bought for the front 3, and let the 4 players fight for the 3 places, plenty of other competitions and injuries should see Origi and Brewster get games especially if we treat the domestic cups with a little more respect.

Adding additional tasks from the Ed's for subscribers could impact the site as a whole due to Ed's times being prioritised for subscribers. I don't believe any additional actions from the Ed's are required however if an advertiser was to offer a prize to be raffled for subscribers only at end or start of a season that might prove interesting without taking too much of your time, just an idea.
