New image uploaded to the
Liverpool Player Sightings page entitled, This is definitely Allison’s house up for sale. Let’s hope he’s just moving to a bigger house up the road and not on his way out.

Corruption you mean.

2.) 01 Oct 2023 10:00:53
I was hoping to be able to calm down after sleeping on it but if anything seeing the fallout has made me more angry. It really does make you wonder what’s the point if you’re playing against 12 every week. I’m really trying not to go on a massive rant….

3.) 01 Oct 2023 10:24:38
They’ve decided to cheat Liverpool out of the title race.

We could’ve gone top of the league with City playing Arsenal away next.

It’s over now, the whole thing is scripted. Fixed outcome.

4.) 01 Oct 2023 10:34:15
If it isn't corruption based then it's ineptitude on a scale that should have every Premier League manager demanding VAR should be scrapped or at least shelved until staff are able to use the technology properly.
As Bill Shankly used to say, football is a simple game. And now it's being spoiled by people who don't have the talent to be out there on the pitch themselves, but are grabbing the headlines for being utterly crap at the role they have in the game.
Every single week now, the headlines are VAR based.
VAR should be taken out of service until those that implement it can be proven to be competent and unbiased.
And let's face it, so far they have been an a miserable failure.

5.) 01 Oct 2023 10:47:16
I keep saying that VAR isn’t working and should be scrapped. I see the theory behind it but the execution is just woeful. There seems to be an error per game now at the very least. The cons outweigh the pros at the moment and it should be shelved until a better execution process is in place and trialled and agreed with the clubs.

6.) 01 Oct 2023 11:02:09
The VAR technology works fine, the problems are the people operating it and the processes they are/ aren't following.

7.) 01 Oct 2023 11:13:24
The pgmol shouldn't operate VAR a separate body needs to run it with their own people in the "bunker" no amount of human error could account for that offside decision yesterday.

8.) 01 Oct 2023 11:28:33
But now if you take var away and leave one of those incompetent refs and linesmen back in the lime light I imagine it be much worse.

9.) 01 Oct 2023 12:03:59
Yikes, OP. Tat looks really bad. How could anyone miss that? Even to the naked eye, it is clearly onside.

10.) 01 Oct 2023 12:06:28
Take away VAR, Jones doesn't get sent off, Diaz's goal is disallowed and Jota does get sent off. I could take that.
The biggest problem with VAR is that we are left talking about VAR again.
I never liked it for taking the spontaneity out of the game but to do that AND get things wrong is unforgivable.

Can we have our game back, please?

Can’t see where he’d go to? All the top teams have a top class keeper.

I’d have thought it was pretty clear that we needed a defensive midfielder from our extremely soft centre that teams can run through at will, MK. As has been demonstrated so well by United, Palace, Atalanta and Everton recently.

And yes he might be physical, but he has the pace and turning circle of the QE2, which doesn’t suggest a player made for the premier league. If we sign him we’d still have a gaping hole in the middle for teams to run at our defenders. The last few weeks have shown that there is a need for a top quality defensive midfielder.

You won’t find a title winning team that doesn’t have a very good or brilliant midfield anchor, until we bought Fabinho we won nothing, we were also rans.

As for Rabiot or Savic, jeez. That’s the bottom of the barrel right there.,

Olise is a massive United fan and is on record as saying he wants to play for them. Given that United, Chelsea and City will both rumoured to be after him in the summer I’d forget any notion of him joining as it will be to any club that isn’t us, it’s not worth bothering only to be turned down. Eze is a London lad and has no interest in leaving the place, he’s said as much, expect he’s waiting for Arsenal or Chelsea to make the inevitable offer.

Schultzy, Trent switches off far too often to play at number six you need a modicum of defensive ability and be alert to danger as well as being able to read the play, which Trent really doesn’t do very well (and I’m being generous there) . Trent is great at the Hollywood passing and free kicks, but the rest of his game isn’t that great, certainly not to be considered for arguably the most important role in the team.

Nevada, I’d tend to disagree that Busquets was the best defensive midfielder of modern times, Makalele was the best by a very very long way and I’d go as far as saying Rodri is better than Busquets ever was.

{Ed001's Note - Alonso was better than any of those.}

Putting an interim manager in could easily have led to the season completely falling apart and ending up outside the top four. And besides there was literally no one remotely suitable available.

Klopp has taken us back to the top. Anyone hating on him now should refresh their memory of what went before him and moreover, what he’s been up against, a club owned by an extremely wealthy nation state with allegations of cheating hanging over them. And he’s still competed. No one before him had that to play against, in those circumstances he’s done exceptionally well. Any other time in the premier league era, he’d have won three or four titles.

Way to soil yourself in public there.

Even in the season that he’s clearly showing signs of decline he’s still likely to finish the season with 20 goals. He’s one of the greatest wingers to grace the game in this country and the best winger ever to play in the premier league, without question. Absolutely a club legend and deserves to be discussed in the same breathe as Dalglish, Keegan, Rush, Barnes, Hunt, Liddell etc.
