Rasmus hojlund. have we any interest in him as a firmino replacement? Nothing came up in the search, thanks.

gmil

{Ed002's Note - Rasmus Hojlund (S) A primary target for Milan. Napoli will look to him if they lose Osihem, Inter if they lose Lukaku and Juventus if they lose Vlahovic. Newcastle, Brighton and Arsenal have sent scouts. A wildcard option might be Manchester United. Real Madrid have spoken with Atalanta to propose a solution that would see a one year loan back. Atalanta will not look to sell.}

1.) 27 Mar 2023 14:22:55
Thanks Ed.

2.) 27 Mar 2023 19:18:19
I know I am jumping the gun, but I really like the look of Evan Fegurson.

{Ed002's Note - I think he already has a girlfriend.}

3.) 27 Mar 2023 19:51:39
Well he sure does seem to like banging them in. Really disappointing to see Bazunu starting ahead of Kelleher tonight. Ed have any clubs enquired about Kelleher?

{Ed002's Note - Caoimhin Kelleher (G) The player needs to consider his future and could look to move on for first team football in the summer. Whilst Spurs are looking for a new GK, they have identified a first choice target they would like and I am not aware of any approach to Liverpool about CK and they will have a new coach this summer who will have his own ideas, but they have looked at him. He will have interested clubs in the summer.

4.) 28 Mar 2023 00:17:05
Thank you Ed.

{Ed002's Note - You are welcome.}

25 May 2019 19:43:18
We are being linked to joao Pedro of fluminese in one of the papers today, anyone know if there is anything in it, cheers.

gmil

1.) 25 May 2019 21:23:51
Would be surprised as Watford have already agreed a deal.

2.) 26 May 2019 11:49:32
That's what it said, but said Liverpool were ready to hijack the move.

3.) 26 May 2019 12:30:57
He isn't 18 yet so the deal can be "hijacked" doubt it though with duncan and brewster looking to break through, perhaps why we need a strong forward, to replace the under 18s lads.

26 Aug 2017 11:31:41
German papers reporting we are trying to sign dermibay from hoffenheim, that's a new one, has anyone heard anything.

gmil

1.) 26 Aug 2017 11:54:17
all because klopp hugged him after the match and had a small discussion and the guy laughed lol.

2.) 26 Aug 2017 12:13:54
I didn't see that, I asked because I saw the story in the Euro papers on the sky app.

3.) 26 Aug 2017 13:20:36
Alright gmil, I posted about 6 week ago that Demibray was at Anfield before he went to play with Germany in the confederations cup. I did ask eds about it, and they reply that would be tapping up but that's nothing new with all teams. So I do believe the is interest but probably next year.

4.) 27 Aug 2017 07:59:30
He Klopp did not tap him up again.

18 Oct 2014 08:35:30
Hey Ed, was just wondering with sturridge being injured again do you see Liverpool signing a forward in January or staying with what they have

gmil

{Ed001's Note - not sure how an injury in October will be relevant to the January window?}

01 Jun 2023 13:53:51
If (big IF) liverpool extended the last 2 stands of anfield what would the capacity be? Anyone any idea?

gmil

1.) 01 Jun 2023 14:21:20
I think it's academic as the infrastructure surrounding the stadium would be required to be updated (at significant cost) before any further seats could be added.

Won't be worth it, financially.

2.) 01 Jun 2023 14:34:54
Liverpool fc can’t extend anymore stand with without changing the Infrastructure. We are at a max 61 k. So we would probably have to add a train route, trams or some other way of moving people out quickly. Plus the areas around the kop and KD stands have houses, pubs and churches on them so it not easy at all to make this happen. Although there is an old train line close that doesn’t get used as for as I know.

3.) 01 Jun 2023 14:54:40
Also the Dalglish stand can’t be extended without demolishing houses and the Kop I believe can’t be extended either, that would need to be knocked down and started again to be built with more seats so it looks a none starter. It’s frustrating as a fan because we are still way below the capacity of what we could fill every week, if the stadium was 70k plus I think tickets would be much easier to come by, Utd who have a bigger fan base have tickets pretty obtainable with a capacity of 75k. I have been a regular through the years at Anfield but stopped going regulars for a while when in the forces, I am lucky my next door neighbour has a season ticket and occasionally gives me tickets but I am going to renew my membership this season with my 5 year old lad in the hope we can get a few tickets this season but I’m not holding out much hope, also think paying £25 for the chance to get tickets is a bit of a swindle but hey ho that’s football.

4.) 01 Jun 2023 15:20:12
You’re right there CC the membership is a con. It should come with an option to at least be able to purchase tickets for one of the lesser PLgames.

5.) 01 Jun 2023 15:26:39
First year I got membership I managed to get lucky and get a ticket (me and 2 kids) . Ever since I've not had a sniff even after applying for every game so it does feel like a waste of money. Hoping the additional seats will mean a slightly better chance.
Shame we can't go further than 61k. There are so many people that don't even bother trying to get tickets any more that will could fill significantly more seats.

6.) 01 Jun 2023 15:45:16
On capacity, if you could extend both stands capacity would be approximately 75,000.

{Ed002's Note - That is not going to happen.}

7.) 01 Jun 2023 15:55:26
OP 6O plus thousand, I read somewhere.

8.) 01 Jun 2023 15:57:36
City do the exact same thing speaking to a mate so we aren’t the only club, it’s been made tougher to get tickets the last few years as we are playing some great football and having success, under previous managers it was much easier to get tickets. Frustrating thing is I was on the season ticket waiting list about 20/ 25 years ago but when they sent letters out to confirm I wanted to stay on the list I was abroad with the army, when I got back I had missed the deadline and on calling up to explain my situation I got told bad luck which was a bit naff. I would have probably had a season ticket now, although it would have left me stuck with my lad.

9.) 01 Jun 2023 16:08:37
Mark- that’s a good idea, having membership guarantees you 1 ticket and it’s a fair way of doing it.
It used to be fan cards which cost a nominal fee (£1/ 5) and that got you access to tickets but you could purchase a membership which got you access to a ballot for every game which was automatic and they contacted you to let you know if you had won a ticket and it was much better odds as there was less members. I’m just hoping in the coming years I can get myself in a position where I can get on 10 or so games a season with my lad but it might be a double edge sword as it might mean it’s like the Hodgson era when tickets could be had as the football was awful!

10.) 01 Jun 2023 16:14:25
On the online you can get City tickets for face value. If Liverpool are doing well then tickets are north of £300 for a normal match.

11.) 01 Jun 2023 16:48:38
The Kop should be extended upwards and become a wall just like Dortmund, that's the only stand that needs it.

12.) 01 Jun 2023 19:15:08
Waiting list for season tickets is 28 years.

Mark I can get tickets at face value but it’s part of a membership season ticket franchise. Sometimes there are pull outs in the week of games. I can’t promise anything but if there’s a way of getting your email or contact then I can let you know.

Like I said I can’t promise anything mate and it’s likely to be midweek league games and domestic cups for pull outs.

13.) 01 Jun 2023 20:10:18
Zed, it was said that expanding the Anfield Road stand did not make any financial sense either, and yet it's happening and has almost already happened.

14.) 01 Jun 2023 20:40:06
Aray perhaps FSG did it for the love of the club then over financial sense.

Plus they proved it even more by only giving 40% of the new seats to corporate which then allows 4 thousand more fans into Anfield on match day.

15.) 01 Jun 2023 21:04:26
Cheers JK, when Ed 033 is about I will ask him how to proceed. We don’t need many matches but it’s great to take your son to the game every now and again.

{Ed033's Note - You 2 are going to have to send your email addresses either via the contact form or a posting form for Ed033's attention.

16.) 01 Jun 2023 23:12:08
Lancaster, to knock down the Kop and to build it bigger just wouldn’t be viable, it’s already a big single tier stand, you wouldn’t be getting many extra seats for the work it would take.

18 May 2023 13:53:18
Ed 01 if you will . I see you mention morton a few times on threads and I haven't seen much of him myself, is he that good or potentially, what is his attributes etc
Cheers.

gmil

{Ed001's Note - he is very good technically. He is very fast and has a good brain on him. Also I like that he learns well. One thing I would say he is weak at is heading. I have never seen a player misread the ball in the air as often as he did in one particular game. I can't remember the game but I do remember him misjudging every single header. It was very odd. He has come on in leaps and bounds this season, mostly playing in a holding role, which is something we need cover for. His recovery pace is a particular asset in that position as he can get out to wide areas and get back centrally very quickly to pressure the ball.}

1.) 18 May 2023 14:38:10
Thanks for sharing Ed. I've never seen him play this season but from what I saw before, I always thought of him as more of a high energy, box-to-box type of midfielder. Kinda interesting that he developed into more of a holding player this season.

{Ed001's Note - he played a few for us as a holding player, but he was still raw and struggled.}

2.) 18 May 2023 14:58:13
I know a few Blackburn rovers fans (season ticket holders) that say he is atrocious and has by no means played all the games he was available for, for them. Covered at centre back a few times as well. He gets battered on the rovers social media pages and is simply not at a good enough level for Liverpool. I know he is young but so is my son and he won’t be playing for Liverpool anytime soon either.

3.) 18 May 2023 15:08:19
I look forward to seeing him play. When I last saw him play he didn't look up to standard and I must admit I thought he would be another Woodburn.

4.) 18 May 2023 16:21:49
I can’t see him playing for our first team next season either Tolk. He was dropped half through the season and started to play again after injuries to others, fingers crossed for the lad but atm he is championship standard.

5.) 18 May 2023 16:23:39
Reign the positivity in totk.

6.) 18 May 2023 16:56:50
I saw him play a few games for Blackburn and he was in their top 3 players in every game I saw with Wharton and Brereton-Diaz. He anchored their midfield very well in my opinion and they will probably miss him next season if he doesn't go back.

I'd be happy to have him back as a squad player but we shouldn't be relying on players like Morton and Clarkson to come back and make a difference in my opinion. Our midfield needs first team quality additions. They could maybe replace Arthur and Ox as deep squad options but we need 1st team quality players to replace Milner and Keita.

For example I'd take Connor Bradley back to replace Ramsay in the squad, but if Trent was leaving there is no way I'd be advocating Bradley replaces him after 1 good season in a much weaker league. Same as I won't advocate Morton or Clarkson replace Keita and Milner who were regulars in the starting XI when fit.

7.) 18 May 2023 17:08:08
Pre season will certainly be interesting and spots are up for grabs. I will be more than happy if one of the youngsters mentioned makes an impact next season.

8.) 18 May 2023 17:51:45
A bit early to be writing off a 20 yr old, isn't it? I don't think there's any expectation of him coming in and being a first teamer next season; championship standard at that age isn't necessarily a bad thing. I'd be more concerned with his potential, ability to learn and improve his game, and attitude over what Blackburn fans (does it matter they're season holders? ) and social media think.

9.) 18 May 2023 18:50:03
MK, going to be honest, I'd advocate nearly anybody who can play football and actually show some effort more than 4 times in 5 years to replace Keita.

10.) 18 May 2023 18:54:24
I think out of all our loaned players this season, the guy who I think can break through next season is Bradley at RB. He’s had an excellent season at Bolton and he plays a position that is essentially up for grabs (if Arnold moves into midfield) . Both Bradley and a fully fit Ramsey can save us millions in that position for arguably the next decade.

If Arnold does move into midfield it would give us.

Alexander-Arnold.
Bacjetic.
Henderson.
Fabinho.
Thiago.
Jones.

Before any signings are made.

11.) 18 May 2023 20:09:34
Needs a PL loan I think. If Fabinho is staying let Morton get 30+ games at a Palace or West Ham rather than a few off the bench for us then come back for the following season if he does well.

12.) 18 May 2023 18:56:02
I’ve seen him live a couple times. He won’t get in the team.

13.) 19 May 2023 01:23:32
Not good enough.

16 Aug 2021 19:06:17
Eds I read earlier that the super league is back on that all the teams that backed out are now back on board with it and all they're waiting on is a court ruling . is this true and if so how after agreeing to uefa sanctions after the last time? TIA.

gmil

{Ed002's Note - No, it is probably referring to an upcoming meeting of the "elite" sides later this month. The court ruling has already happened and it is not something that applies to Liverpool. Don't worry.}

1.) 17 Aug 2021 07:22:12
Thanks Ed.

07 Feb 2020 22:41:04
Ed if I may, just read that spurs have installed barriers for safe standing in their ground, I believe a lot of clubs are in favour of this but are Liverpool even considering it for anfield?

gmil

{Ed002's Note - The PL clubs regularly discuss it and most know that supporters try and stand. The problem is that not all clubs can agree and it is more than likely to be a phased implementation. Liverpool are not one of the clubs pushing for it.}

1.) 08 Feb 2020 08:09:12
Only time you sit in the kop is warm ups and halftime. They do ask everyone to sit but that’s never going to happen.

23 Mar 2019 08:03:02
Did anyone else see France footballs list of all time greatest managers and Bob Paisley's not in the top ten, I've seen a few of these now and he never seems to be in the top few, why do all these polls etc keep overlooking him?

gmil

{Ed001's Note - because they are done by people who know f all about football.}

1.) 23 Mar 2019 09:26:27
Paisley won more European cups in 9 years than Ferguson won in 26. He is the greatest ever for me.

{Ed001's Note - agreed. Paisley was incredible.}

2.) 23 Mar 2019 09:49:17
Paisley was the best ever, is the best ever and always will be, the best ever. These daft lists mean bugger all, probably wrote by some 20 year old kid in his bedroom, what it comes down to is the truth of things, history etc and imo there's no touching Paisley, no modern manager is even close and I doubt in my life time I'll ever see it. Let the younger generation believe what they want to believe but the be all and end all is, they haven't got a bloody clue what they're talking about lol.

3.) 23 Mar 2019 10:38:11
For me he's the best, I even named my son Bobby after him 😁.

4.) 23 Mar 2019 10:56:48
We live in an age of revisionism and short term thinking. People are now questioning that Cruyff, Pele and Maradona aren’t the greatest that ever played because they didn’t feature in FIFA or saw them on Sky, it’s ridiculous. The idiots are winning.

5.) 23 Mar 2019 11:37:35
Precisely FranklyMrShankly. People are far more interested in revising history, than in making it. Shallow thinking.

6.) 23 Mar 2019 11:38:11
Agreed that Paisley at 26 is ridiculous.
Shankly is at 10, though how Guardiola is at 5 already is beyond me.
Paisley somewhere in the top 10, although I agree with Michels heading the list.
It’s terribly difficult to choose between Shankly and Paisley, never mind the others.
Though for what he built and stood for, Shankly will always be our King.

7.) 23 Mar 2019 14:25:39
Well Frankly, OBVIOULSY how you compare Pele to a current player is based on his 'icon' FIFA Ultimate Team card. Looking at footage of him play? Reading about him? Listening to what other pros said? Nah. Who needs any of that?

If he doesn't score you as many goals as the Cristiano Ronaldo Team of the Week card that you got after opening 400 quid's worth of packs that you bought with Mommy's credit card then he's clearly not as good.

8.) 23 Mar 2019 14:41:39
Who were our worst ever managers?

9.) 23 Mar 2019 18:31:18
JK- I think Souness set us back a long way
Hodgson up there too

However there were probably some horrors before my time that- as people have alluded to above- we don’t look at.

10.) 23 Mar 2019 18:57:08
Paisley was genius unfortunately he's career was/ will always be overshadowed by another maestro in Shanks.

11.) 23 Mar 2019 20:03:40
Adrian Durham gave his top 5 all time coaches across all sports on the radio the other day, he had Paisley as number 1.

12.) 23 Mar 2019 22:28:40
France Football prolly never heard of the great Bob Paisley. Paisley is simply the best. had he coached as long as Gergie did, he could prolly have won near 40 trophies.

13.) 24 Mar 2019 08:34:35
It’s too vague a question - again!
You need to break it down into international football and club football. How do you compare the 2? I don’t know!

Club football - Paisley is definitely in everyone’s top 5.

14.) 24 Mar 2019 11:27:46
Paisley for me. Shanks was/ is a true legend but Paisley took on a seemingly impossible task and bettered it, we’ve seen what happened since.

One thing I read when he was in charge, ‘Liverpool rarely make a bad buy’. Neal, Hansen, Souness, Dalglish ect etc.

Genius. And such a modest Unassuming man. Respect.

YMWA ed.

Having spent over a half a billion on players he should have a squad capable covering injuries wouldn't you think, every team has to deal with injuries, for me ten hag has done no better than ole, main problem is the players that are being signed aren't good enough, Brighton as an example of scouting and signing is done.
