Are we interested in either Bowen or Gimenez?

Murfo90

1.) 24 Apr 2024 22:13:13
I think we’re interested in anyone who could hit a bulls backside with a banjo at the moment.

2.) 24 Apr 2024 23:18:52
Bowen is too old. Edwards won’t sign off on that one.

3.) 25 Apr 2024 10:12:11
He’s 27 - you think a number makes a person too old - that’s (one of) your issues. There’s no indication that the club want to sign Bowen but to ascribe your opinion as the motive for Edwards doing anything is inaccurate, at best.

Seen a few links to Real Madrid players I. e Rodrygo, Valverde but was wondering are we interested in either of these players or is it just rumour? Also with mbappe going to real who will they look to offload and do you know if were interested? Cheers guys.

Murfo90

{Ed002's Note - Rodrygo Goes (RW/S) Real Madrid have no interest in selling but PSG did ask for him as part of a deal for Mbappe before he let his contract run down. Many Liverpool fans think there is some sort of pre-contract to join them, but of course there isn't. He agreed a new contract at Real Madrid and won't be moving anytime soon unless something like €120M offer is made or he could perhaps be offered to Liverpool in an exchange for Alexander Arnold. There will always be interest in him and with Mbappe arriving he may need to make his way back to the RW position - although the wide positions are areas where Real Madrid want more depth.

Real Madrid have other players they are looking to sell.}

1.) 10 Apr 2024 18:23:37
What about Valverde?

30 Mar 2024 06:25:22
Any interest from us in Marcus Edwards? Or are we looking at different RW players? Cheers Ed’s.

Murfo90

{Ed002's Note - Marcus Edwards (RW/AM) Spurs would like to re-sign the player they let leave for Guimaraes and there is interest from West Ham, but that will go nowhere. Crystal Palace have a declared interest. Discussed with Chelsea on an informal basis and on the list of RW/AM players Chelsea need - but they have a preferred options. Could prove a suitable Salah replacement for Liverpool but Sporting will have no interest in dealing with Liverpool and they have preferred options. Manchester United see him as a potential addition and have declared an interest - but much will depend on what happens in the summer with the coach. Sporting has no interest in selling and would demand his full release clause in a single payment.}

1.) 30 Mar 2024 14:20:42
I prefer Kubo, Kudus or Soule.

16 Mar 2024 21:20:26
I know this has been asked previously but I’m hearing a lot at the moment of us being genuinely interested in Musiala. do you see this one happening or have you heard anything that confirms our interest?

Murfo90

{Ed002's Note - Jamal Musiala (AM/LW) Bayern Munich will have no interest in selling the player back to Chelsea who have enquired but the player is delaying a new contract and needs to reduce his demands. Real Madrid has a declared interest. Manchester City have asked Bayern Munich for talks over the player as a de Bruyne replacement, but they will resist and keep pushing for a new contract. There has been no approach from Liverpool.}

1.) 17 Mar 2024 23:17:43
Brilliant player.

Would accept reinvestment of a Salah Saudi sale on Musiala.

If that doesn't work, hopefully Musialowski could be our Musiala.

2.) 19 Mar 2024 19:03:16
I’d imagine the sale of Salah would only cover 50~75% of the fee for Musiala.

27 Aug 2023 12:57:32
Do you know of any real interest from us in any players for the RW position? Just thinking you’d know, that’s if there was a real chance of Mo leaving.

Murfo90

{Ed002's Note - The club will make provisions and will certainly have players in mind, the difficulty would be in the knock on effect of clubs finding a replacement this late in the transfer window. Certainly there are players who have been looked at.}

1.) 27 Aug 2023 15:16:35
Ed002 would Federico Chiesa be an option,
Has he fully recovered from his injury.

{Ed002's Note - Federico Chiesa (LW/F) A third party has informed Juventus of possible interest from Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich in the right-footed LW and with sanctions this may lead Juventus to consider a sale. Manchester United and Arsenal interest seems to have gone. Chelsea interest is possible and the clubs did discuss the player during meetings over another player and their need will be driven with the departure of Pulisic, but I suspect they will not make an offer given interest elsewhere. Newcastle ould like to do something but would need to sell their project. Liverpool would only be an option if Salah were sold and they seem well stocked for versatile forwards, particularly left-sided forwards. PSG may offer an option. Aston Villa apparently have enquired but seem an unlikely destination. Juventus don't really want to sell but the player has been plagued with injury the past two years and that means that they are unlikely to find interest whilst significant injury problems persist and that concern is been mentioned in discussion with Bayern Munich and is likely to cause Chelsea to tread carefully. The Middle East may be attractive to the player.

2.) 28 Aug 2023 06:07:52
I see a couple of articles mentioning Joao Felix. I hope not - he seems to be a player who flatters to deceive.

3.) 29 Aug 2023 20:57:10
Joao Felix is not good enough to play for LFC full stop …anyone who thinks he could replace salah is on some serious stuff!

“That’s why I can be very frustrated when a referee even makes the slightest mistake to your disadvantage. This can have so much influence while you’re not able to control anything. All preparation can be ruined because of a referee mistake. This can be my biggest frustration! - Arne Slot

He’s going to love the prem this guy!

Murfo90

1.) 24 Apr 2024 18:00:34
His first signing will be Mark Clattenberg.
Forest have had no luck since he went there ?.

2.) 24 Apr 2024 22:24:29
Clattenburg might be better in front of goal for us. After all he knows the language so he’ll be more composed.

3.) 24 Apr 2024 22:50:51
I've heard Clattenburg is lethal in the as well and waits till the pass after the pass to run. Sign him up stop the inverted full back. Cross the ball. Bosh clatenburg eats battenburg.

4.) 24 Apr 2024 22:57:00
Come on, JK, cut him some slack.
When you move to another country you have to relearn how to kick the ball into the net again. It's not been two years yet.
After that he'll progress to learning how to control the ball again.

27 Mar 2024 10:37:29
Out of the 3 other top 4 sides. which players would you take and who would you replace in our squad? 1 from each.

Murfo90

1.) 27 Mar 2024 10:58:29
Get rid of Trent and I'd take Rice.

2.) 27 Mar 2024 11:25:18
If I could pick one from each club, it’d be Saliba from Arsenal, Rodri from City and Douglas Luis from Villa (if Spurs were to win their game in hand and leapfrog Villa I’d go for Son, despite his age) .

3.) 27 Mar 2024 11:28:10
Saliba, rice and one of doku / saka / foden.

With konate, Diaz and potentially endo (for rice would mainly be an age factor or slighttt edge on him), but would say endo is a tight call really. KDB is also one that only age / injuries this season wouldn’t be one - even then debatable as when on form and fit is the best midfielder in the league.

4.) 27 Mar 2024 11:44:50
If Salah is leaving, I would take Phil Foden from ManCity. I would take Martinelli from Arsenal to replace Diaz. And again, if Salah is leaving, I would take Bowen from Aston Villa to replace him, or Douglas Luiz to replace Thiago (it's a bit cheating since Thiago is leaving anyway) .

{Ed025's Note - i think Bowen plays for West Ham ArAy..

5.) 27 Mar 2024 13:12:12
MightyMosive - Doku? I don’t understand that one.
Arsenal - Rice or Saka (Saka is great but wouldn’t start for us while Salah is around)
Man City - De Bruyne (Rodri is useful but KDB is by far City’s best player)
Spurs - Son
Aston Villa - Probably none (Watkins is good and makes Villa a MUCH better team, but we’ve got great attackers already)

6.) 27 Mar 2024 13:16:32
Thanks Ed025, for the public embarrassment, LOL. Further proof that I don't pay any attention to the other teams in the EPL. ?.

{Ed025's Note - to be fair ArAy they both play in claret and blue mate, just dont be linking any Burnley players next.. :)

7.) 27 Mar 2024 13:53:52
Lowe- tbh like the look of him and is young so with right coaching looks like he has a lot of potentially.

Added his pace and with Diaz, love him, but at times can be incredibly frustrating with trying too much or taking too many touches. Other than that was thinking more of natural positions and foden / saka both play right and salah is levels above both.

8.) 27 Mar 2024 16:48:44
if mo Salah leaves in the summer then Bowen would be on the sshortlist.

9.) 27 Mar 2024 17:28:59
@Kop That - Bowen is a good player but he is 28 this year so can’t see us going for him. It would be good to go for someone younger who is good but with plenty of room to improve further.

10.) 27 Mar 2024 17:55:43
Declan Rice
Phil Foden
Van De Ven
Saka.

11.) 27 Mar 2024 18:04:22
This has turned into some kind of joke post ?.

12.) 27 Mar 2024 19:15:34
Most the replies seem to fail the OP’s actual question, with some listing 2-3 players from Arsenal etc and some even choosing players from outside the top 4 ?

Wdw, do Liverpool really need another 2 CM’s in Rodri and Douglas luiz?

13.) 28 Mar 2024 08:32:46
Rice
Kdb
Van der ven
Luiz.

14.) 28 Mar 2024 22:38:20
@Fuser, probably not mate, but . I was treating it more as a ‘what if’ rather than looking at specific positions for the current squad.

@Lowel, KDB was a brilliant midfielder with the emphasis on attack, not quite the player he was as his hamstrings seem to have reached their sell by date and his game time seems to be something that Pep is taking more seriously. Rodri, on the other hand, still provides the City defence with a shield - great footballer in my opinion and still (just about) at his peak. City’s wobble earlier this season occurred when he wasn’t playing. A bit like Arsenal imploding at the end of last season when their defence relied on Saliba who had the injury that coincided with them blowing up in the title race.

21 Mar 2024 13:52:25
Looking forward to this summer. once Klopps received the send off he so rightfully deserves, when the dust settles and we get to see who the new manager will be, how the team sets up, who the new recruits will be and who will depart. Exciting new era. the team Is already strong but with a few additions man this team will be scary. FSG prove time and again they know what they’re doing. Who does everyone want to see the club sign this summer?

Murfo90

1.) 21 Mar 2024 14:28:20
I have a sneaky feeling that Salah will move on in the summer so another forward would be a must if that happens.

If Salah, Thiago and Matip all leave in the summer the reduction in our wage bill would probably excite some fans more than any quadruple would.

2.) 21 Mar 2024 15:44:26
Not as much as net transfer spend JK, that's enough to get the juices flowing.

3.) 21 Mar 2024 15:58:46
Now we’re talking Stuie. I just had a twitch reading that ?.

4.) 21 Mar 2024 18:55:14
Apparently itts Between xa and J n well that’s what I’ve heard.

5.) 21 Mar 2024 20:00:26
Can only buy home growners too.

30 Jun 2023 20:11:51
Anyone know if there’s been any interest in Thiago, Matip or gomez after the shirt video that got posted? Just wondering if there actually was anything too it.

Murfo90

1.) 30 Jun 2023 20:25:00
From what I’ve heard we put them on Gumtree as 3 fantastic league and CL winning footballers who were all extremely injury prone.

On reading the part where it said they are extremely injury prone our own transfer team bid for them and that’s why we are down to less than 12 million.

2.) 30 Jun 2023 21:26:02
Shirt video?

3.) 30 Jun 2023 21:26:30
? gumtree. I’d keep Matip if we get another cb . Cost nothing better cb than Gomez who creates havoc imo. We get more for him too if sold.

4.) 01 Jul 2023 01:14:03
Remember we bought Ince from Inter.
Proven midfield enforcer, instead of emerging talent.

Seen a rumour linking us with Inacio, Edwards and Grimaldo, any likeliness of these coming off.

Murfo90

{Ed002's Note - Goncalo Inacio (CB) Watched by scouts from a number of PL sides, including Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester United, with each declaring an interest. Sporting will not be keen to do business with Liverpool although the club could potentially arrange to pay his full Release Clause in a single payment and force the situation if the player is interested - and that seems a strong possibility. The other sides to declare an interest are Newcastle and PSG, but PSG have a plan over another player but it is looking unlikely he will join - so Inacio might become the focus. Real Madrid offer a wildcard option. Sporting would rather not sell and are looking to a further new contract and an increased release clause. Newcastle have held talks with Sporting in order to be able to speak directly to the player and to understand if there is flexibility in the payment schedule – but there isn't. Arsenal interest would have departed with the signing of Timber although it has returned with the injury to Timber and impending departures. They are actively seeking talks with Sporting. The player has also been offered to Chelsea by his agent when discussing another player, but they have preferred options for a long-term Silva replacement although do have an interest in Inacio's CB partner Diomande. Arsenal have made a tentative offer that has been rejected. The player's agent has also said that Inacio is open to a move to Manchester United and they may push depending on departures.
Alejandro Grimaldo (LWB) No intention of leaving Bayer Leverkusen having rejected Manchester City and Leeds. Bayern Munich have the player on a short list of options to replace Alphonso Davies.
Marcus Edwards (RW/AM) Spurs would like to re-sign the player they let leave for Guimaraes and there is interest from West Ham, but that will go nowhere. Crystal Palace have a declared interest. Discussed with Chelsea on an informal basis and on the list of RW/AM players Chelsea need - but they have a preferred options. Could prove a suitable Salah replacement for Liverpool but Sporting may still have no interest in dealing with Liverpool and they have preferred options, but with a change of coach that may change. Manchester United see him as a potential addition and have declared an interest - but much will depend on what happens in the summer with the coach. Sporting has no interest in selling and would demand his full release clause in a single payment.}

Like a few posters have said, we shouldn’t put all our eggs in one basket. While the return of alonso would be a surreal story, the guys on his way to winning the league with this Leverkusen team and dominating the league, he will surely want to test himself and his squad in the champions league next year and then look to move to Madrid. Timing seems about right. Good luck too him, if he wants that career path and many would, then he’s not the one for us sadly. I wouldn’t want to sign alonso thne have to look for a new manager in a year or 2 because his dream job now became available. The names floating around don’t fill us with hope but I believe we find the right guy come next season. Amorim for me. many say not enough experience, low league experience ect but the guy looks like the over all best fit and someone who has good tactical skill, game management skill and player development. truth is best two managers we’ve been linked with in alonso and Amorim both have very little experience but seem to be the next era of coaches coming through. all my own opinions of course.

Are we looking to sell Diaz? Might be interest from Barcelona but are we actively looking to move him on and if so are there any touted replacements of interest that you’ve heard on the grapevine?

Murfo90

{Ed002's Note - Replacing Salah would be far more important with Gagpo and Jota already at the club. Plenty of wide players who can play either side have been looked at.}
