Hi gents,

It’s about 3am now and the club had an insanely busy day. Now after so many months of negotiation, I can exclusively confirm that Barcola deal is Done. And I don’t mean done and it’ll be announced on last day of the window, I mean Done as in negotiations have concluded and major news outlets will announce it today. This has been a long and tiring sage so I’m just glad that the deal has finally concluded.

Midfield…I am not aware of any talks with Monaco for Camara, I’ve said it few weeks ago. I don’t think midfield is a priority now (although it should be). Wharton was a priority for Slot before he got sacked, but Iraola wanted a different profile to Wharton hence the interest cooled off.

My sources told me that Mbaye will still very likely get done. We enquired for Rayan but Bournemouth wanted to keep him for another season. A lot of friction going on between Iraola and Hughes, Hughes kept pushing for the Data centric signings despite Slot sacked and Edwards having already left the club, but Iraola wanted his own set of players. It has been a really challenging summer for the club, I’ll reveal more soon. For now just wait for the Barcola announcement coming today.

Cheers.

Signing off,
Iraola’s areola

Wow, thanks, AA. Really appreciate the update and look forward to this news and more updates from yourself.

2

27 Aug 2026 04:16:00
Not sure it's an exclusive, mate, Robbo told us it was done a couple of hours ago.

6

27 Aug 2026 04:17:11
Is this a well done on the Fornax scale?

3

27 Aug 2026 04:32:51
Thanks AA, looking forward to hearing you reveal more inside scoops!

Appreciate the multiple confirmations from ITKs!

27 Aug 2026 04:40:54
Very informative update, AA. Thanks.
Though I am not privy to the daily operations of the club, I am sick of Richard Hughes and will be glad to see the back of him. A textbook example of the problems that arise when people recommend their mates into positions demanding high competence.

The only other issue is that his replacement will likely come from the incompetent group working under him now.

2

https://www.rangersrumours.co.uk/images/Ed0041.png avatar{Ed666's Note - Do you think the new consortia namely Bhattia as a board member have an input on who replaces Hughes or is Gordon calling the shots on that particular decision mate? I would have thought Gordon would have enough nous by now to appoint a stellar candidate?

2

27 Aug 2026 05:10:52
Are you the left or the right Areola? I hear that not all areolas are the same.

1

27 Aug 2026 05:18:18
I agree with something Ed001 said the other day - There's no way they'd have demanded seats on the board if they had no interest in running the club. The club is in much better hands if Gordon is running it day to day than the likes of Hughes, but my problem with FSG has always been that if they'd shown more interest and oversight in making our operations effective rather than just growing revenue, the likes of Hughes wouldn't be a factor and we'd win a lot more than we do.

Liverpool have the money and prestige to hire pretty much the best there is, so why don't we?

2

27 Aug 2026 05:34:56
AA/Robbo/Carra, is Barcola an Areola preferred signing or more a push from Hughes? I wonder, did Areola have other players in mind, and Barcola is just a project from the past we are now closing because of all the work that has gone into it?

0

27 Aug 2026 06:23:33
"Exclusively reveal"

Hilarious, welcome to the site, mate.

27 Aug 2026 06:28:01
Excellent post, AA, and thanks for the inside scoop. Looking forward to seeing you post in the future, good Sir.

Evening Gents.

Barcola is done.

Official announcement later on tonight, possibly tomorrow.

Cheers.

Goodnight.

26 Aug 2026 23:03:18
The smokescreen worked heh... thanks Robbo.

5

26 Aug 2026 23:04:03
Sorry, mate, but will believe it when I see it. No offence. ❤️

10

26 Aug 2026 23:04:26
Thanks Robbo, appreciate it.

3

26 Aug 2026 23:05:16
😀😀😀😀 It's Deja vu, all over again.

Sleep well, Redmen - big day tomorrow, it seems.

4

26 Aug 2026 23:06:24
Cheers Robbo.

4

26 Aug 2026 23:06:50
He'll sign on February 2nd.

3

26 Aug 2026 23:08:01
Excellent Robbo, really hope so. Then we can bring in other targets, like a DM, which is so badly needed.

5

26 Aug 2026 23:08:40
Thanks, Robbo! Hopefully it's done!

2

26 Aug 2026 23:11:01
Thanks, mate. Hoping we see him against Forest then! Damn, well needed some good news after this utter polava.

2

26 Aug 2026 23:13:20
Nice one Robbo, cheers.

2

26 Aug 2026 23:15:34
Fair play Robbo. 🫡

5

26 Aug 2026 23:27:13
Superb news, but need more. Cheers, Robbo.

2

26 Aug 2026 23:27:18
Cheers Robbo.

2

26 Aug 2026 23:30:48
In Robbo we trust. Nice one lad.

2

26 Aug 2026 23:31:55
Mighty. Much appreciated!

2

26 Aug 2026 23:34:16
Good spirits, Ron.

2

26 Aug 2026 23:38:22
Barcola announced in the new kit launch.

3

26 Aug 2026 23:41:21
Cheers, Robbo. So many different Twitter accounts also reporting as such.

Happy days!!

One more winger and midfielder pleeeeease.

Remember, Iraola has already said he's happy with defence.

3

26 Aug 2026 23:44:29
Cheers, Robbo, got word it will be Thursday myself but it's done.

1

26 Aug 2026 23:44:50
I choose to believe it for 2 reasons

1) My mother in law always has a gut feeling the best things happen on a Thursday.

2) Just makes most sense before the weekend games, and then we can focus on the game having got the big signing done and then work away on the potential others!

3

26 Aug 2026 23:46:34
I thought Barcola might be due a testimonial with us.

7

27 Aug 2026 00:04:07
Thank you, Robbo, who's next?

1

27 Aug 2026 00:31:41
Concentrating on Barcola when we need a left-back, right-back, midfielder is ridiculous. This is the problem when you have sporting directors choosing players. Look at the squad Alonso has assembled at Chelsea. It has balance and a system. We still look disjointed. This is going to be a long hard season. They have hung Iraola out to dry and it's a disgrace.

1

27 Aug 2026 00:44:21
People are really holding up Chelsea as an example to follow? It's easy to build a good squad when you buy 10 players each summer, bend the rules and cheat. They have almost 40 first team players on their books, of course, they have a balanced squad.

7

27 Aug 2026 01:16:19
Yes, but Chelsea are just a body shop. Bring a batch in on long term contracts and sell them on for a profit a year or two later. It's a business, not a game anymore.

1

27 Aug 2026 03:50:53
Looks like it's actually done. Announcement tomorrow.

0

27 Aug 2026 06:15:36
Cheers Robbo, what a palaver!
I wonder if all the time spent on this saga has impacted our efforts to reinforce in other areas, like midfield?

0

27 Aug 2026 06:32:05
This summer, the prices of wingers have gone totally crazy. Probably partly because everybody knows that a wealthy club like LFC is desperate for a new RW and the transfer window will close very soon.
(I believe the Barcola deal is done by now, so we can focus on the RW.)

Instead of breaking the bank for any PL-unproven young talent now, I would rather go for a safer option this summer.

I think Jarrod Bowen would fill our needs short-term, and then we could use the coming 2-3 years or so to find a long-term alternative.
Bowen might not be the most exciting project, but there's no doubt that he would do a decent job for us as RW with his experience. And he is PL-proven!

That would give us more time to find a young RW talent that could meet our future needs, and the market for wingers could cool down a little bit.
Premier League is a tough league, and many of the promising talents from abroad might not shine here.

This seems a safer option to me, given the short time left of this transfer window - and all possible selling clubs want to milk "the LFC cow" while we are still desperate (and Hughes is still in charge...).

YNWA.

26 Aug 2026 20:51:22
AC Milan close to Elliott. 20m euro deal.

16

https://www.rangersrumours.co.uk/images/Ed0041.png avatar{Ed666's Note - really???

14

26 Aug 2026 21:39:30
Take it and run.

7

26 Aug 2026 21:53:18
Mint. We could use the money to sign an injured winger.

Harry Kewel's probably still injured, let's get him.

28

26 Aug 2026 21:55:25
Not enough.

5

26 Aug 2026 22:31:50
That a 20m season loan, I hope!

3

26 Aug 2026 22:36:30
He was worth more, but with how he's looking at the moment I'd argue that's alright money for him.

6

26 Aug 2026 22:37:07
He's worth about 20p after Slot coached him.

3

26 Aug 2026 22:40:04
As I mentioned a few days ago, take the money and let him go.

2

26 Aug 2026 22:43:47
I think he's better than that, but after the Villa fiasco, probably all we're going to get. If AI isn't going to use him at RW (still a bit surprised it's not being as cover there given our desperation and him doing a decent job there under Klopp), then it's better to let him get on with his career. Good luck to the lad.

7

26 Aug 2026 22:55:18
He's in last 12 months of his contract now.

3

26 Aug 2026 23:22:12
Slot hasn't coached him since we won the league. He went off and was player of the tournament at the U21 Euro after that.

8

27 Aug 2026 00:36:25
Karry Kewell normally gets injured in his first year but stays injury free in his last year of his contract. So sign him to a one year contract - he won't know what to do.

2

27 Aug 2026 01:26:24
I don't think Slot was to blame for Harvey.

The ankle injury and not being a regular starter in Jurgen's team slowed his progression. Slot wanted him to stay - he saw him as a squad member, but Harvey and his advisors were looking for him to be a regular starter in a PL team.

Sad thing was Emery didn't want him, but Villa management brought him in, and he's lost another year.

Hopefully he goes abroad and starts afresh - there is a cracking player in there if he can put the past behind him.

0

https://www.rangersrumours.co.uk/images/Ed0041.png avatar{Ed666's Note - I don’t think he’s the greatest player in the world but he seems like a thoroughly nice kid and I truly hope he has a fabulous career with lots of trophies.

4

27 Aug 2026 03:33:59
That's now Klopp, Slot, Emery and Iraola who haven't really fancied Elliott. At some point, you just have to accept he's probably a mid to lower table Premier League player.

1

https://www.rangersrumours.co.uk/images/Ed0041.png avatar{Ed666's Note - maybe all those managers you mentioned are heterosexual?

2

27 Aug 2026 05:46:59
Klopp started him in midfield until he broke his ankle, did he not?

1

27 Aug 2026 06:16:37
Shame that, I like Harvey but it's just not worked out for him.

0

26 Aug 2026 18:34:01
According to Sky, Brighton are about to sign the young Colombia player we were linked with.

8

26 Aug 2026 18:43:47
We'll be looking to buy him for 100mil next summer so.

51

26 Aug 2026 18:44:19
Don't worry, we are still in the midst of assessment, consideration, and planning to move for him. That way, when we are finally ready, and when he has already joined Crystal Palace for 35 million, and had at least 2 seasons with them, we will be just about ready to fork out 80 million. The real money.

22

26 Aug 2026 19:37:20
I am contacting you from the future. The year is 3067. The Earth was devastated after the big nuclear war. The Earth, as we knew it, has changed forever. However, one thing remains..... Liverpool are still negotiating a fee with Barcola.

They expect a breakthrough before the start of the 3068/69 season. Barcola's fee has gone up significantly due to inflation and the cost of cryogenic freezing.

40

26 Aug 2026 19:40:32
Gotta be the right market opportunity, yknow!

2

26 Aug 2026 19:43:10
Gonna happen in the next 24 to 48 hours, same as for the last 6 weeks. :-) Probably still gonna be saying that come next Wednesday.

5

26 Aug 2026 19:46:49
I would suggest Miles Lewis Skelly as a utility option. He is 19!!!

5

26 Aug 2026 20:09:30
He'll be 27 by the time we sign him though.

13

26 Aug 2026 20:26:57
My gardener reckons Barcola will be done in the next 48 hours. One from the director he mows the lawn for at the rental in West Derby.

4

26 Aug 2026 20:44:52
No. I heard from the guy who runs the baguette stand near Parc de Princes that PSG have asked us to hold off any announcement on Barcola until they secure their transfers in the 2027 transfer window.

8

26 Aug 2026 20:57:47
Barcola and Camara will happen.

6

26 Aug 2026 21:03:54
They're waiting for Barcola to get injured before announcing his signing. Nothing too serious injury-wise, but enough to wind up the impatients.

9

26 Aug 2026 21:11:21
We're monitoring the situation in the event of an opportunistic buy.

0

26 Aug 2026 21:14:37
Nice one, Rigsby. 🤣

2

26 Aug 2026 21:24:19
Brighton can sign him and loan him out to Bloom's other club, Union Saint Gilloise, for first team experience.

We can give him u21 games or, like we did with Arroyo, send him out on loan and forget he ever existed.

2

26 Aug 2026 16:27:48
Any news re the young lad from Chile?

2

26 Aug 2026 16:47:42
Add a young lad from Gambia who's on trial, to that.

2

26 Aug 2026 16:51:27
Yeah, he has a goal and 2 assists from 4 matches so far this season.

5

26 Aug 2026 18:56:22
Young lad from Chile - YLFC.

4

26 Aug 2026 19:37:57
Don't call him that or he'll get an ACL.

2

27 Aug 2026 00:00:25
We looked at the young lad from Chile
But Hughes could only dally and dilly
And Brighton stepped in
Much to all our chagrin
Because he could be the next Amario Cozier-Duberry

It does need a bit of work.

1

26 Aug 2026 15:19:55
Palace rebuff Liverpool's Sarr approach and only an astronomical number will see them being ready to talk. Liverpool never bid for player and unlikely to take it any further.

According to David Ornstein.

11

26 Aug 2026 16:41:03
I honestly don't blame Palace.
The window shuts soon and they have no chance of signing a replacement.

We won't get anyone in and I'd prefer that than a hurried signing.

Act in haste, repent at leisure.

26

26 Aug 2026 16:45:55
Most likely a bluff. Maybe they want to push PSG a bit with Mbaye.

9

26 Aug 2026 16:56:16
If only, @Ross. All it is doing is showing PSG just how desperate we are and strengthening their position.
We should have had Barcola and Mbaye wrapped up and integrated into the squad weeks ago.

Instead, we will either end up spending way over the odds for a mediocre winger or being forced to play a 17 year old out of position there for the next 4 months.

25

26 Aug 2026 17:04:22
Absolute farce. This is self-sabotage on an industrial scale. Leaving it weeks and weeks and weeks, and getting to the last week of the window is staggering incompetence. Well run club, my arse.

38

26 Aug 2026 17:15:59
After the Guehi saga last year you can't be relying on Palace to do deals at the last minute.

20

26 Aug 2026 17:27:52
Hughes should've gone with Slot.

39

26 Aug 2026 17:36:40
What Viktor said!

6

26 Aug 2026 17:40:38
Forest sign Delap (De-crap) for 50 million?

Javi Rueda (24), Celta Vigo ex RM right back, in talks also with Glass-nob, Forest circa £13 million move.

Axel Disasi joins Palace season long loan. Thunder and Lightning on Merseyside now, Barcolas jet will try for a safe landing tomorrow morning, weather permitting?

4

26 Aug 2026 17:41:09
I'm already looking forward to RW Chapter IV, in which we spend all of next summer "negotiating" a deal for Rayan.

7

26 Aug 2026 18:09:55
Absolutely agree, Viktor. Just unbelievable! And only 5 days to go now until this farce is over.

5

26 Aug 2026 18:13:58
Our transfer policy is fun. Put pics of any injured player on a dart board. Close your eyes and throw the dart. Whoever it hits, you put in a bid for, which gets rejected. Then throw another dart.

13

https://www.rangersrumours.co.uk/images/Ed0041.png avatar{Ed0666's Note - there’s a game show idea if I’ve ever heard one

6

26 Aug 2026 18:14:57
Let's just start Munoz on the right and stick with him. Wirtz on the left, Gakpo in a Firminho role.

When Ekitike is back, maybe he can cover right when needed.

2

26 Aug 2026 18:17:24
Let's just sign M'Baye and Camara, both deals are very doable, and if you get those two plus Barcola, that would actually balance the squad.

15

https://www.rangersrumours.co.uk/images/Ed0041.png avatar{Ed0666's Note - and would be a 9/10 transfer window if you include JJ and the Barcelona Captain whose name I can’t pronounce or spell.

10

26 Aug 2026 18:38:36
Those deals are doable by any club with a capable director. Sadly we aren't.

6

26 Aug 2026 19:05:09
If it's all a ruse in order to get M'Baye good enough. But, if it's not, if it's genuine panic buying, then someone higher up needs to put a stop to it. Laughing stock or sabotage.

https://www.rangersrumours.co.uk/images/Ed0041.png avatar{Ed0666's Note - pretty difficult to stop the lunatics taking over the asylum late

5

26 Aug 2026 19:09:56
Man City.. want a player, sign player.
Arsenal... want a player, sign player.
Spurs... want a player, sign player.
Chelsea... want a player, sign player.

Liverpool... want a player, oh wait, he's too expensive, we could get him for free next season, he's not the player we need, he doesn't fit our system, just keeping our options open, player signs for another club.

Somebody, please make it stop.

11

26 Aug 2026 19:51:02
Just imagine being Ron Funk.

3

26 Aug 2026 19:52:15
Exactly, MoT. We'd challenge for the title with those in the starting eleven.

0

26 Aug 2026 20:16:46
Didn't one of the ITK's and possibly Romano say "expect Liverpool to be linked to a lot of different players in the next few weeks"? Is this not what is happening now?

2

https://www.rangersrumours.co.uk/images/Ed0041.png avatar{Ed0666's Note - yes one of the ITK’s on this site said the very same thing. I can’t remember who tho can someone refresh my memory?

3

26 Aug 2026 20:32:21
Yeah it was one of those pesky ITK's but they are few and you are many. So who knows which one it was

7

26 Aug 2026 21:53:30
TheFields, I think.

2

26 Aug 2026 15:06:46
Palace rejected our bid. Sorr has a groin injury. That's what the manager said, so take it however u like.

Took from This Is Anfield.

2

26 Aug 2026 17:12:35
Sorr groin... ouch.

16

26 Aug 2026 17:35:04
We've all been there, Swoozer.

6

26 Aug 2026 14:34:17
Afternoon Gents

No concrete information on Sarr, although it does make sense, as you can recall I did mention way back in the Window we was interested.

Cheers.

48

https://www.rangersrumours.co.uk/images/Ed0041.png avatar{Ed0666's Note - nothing we do lately seems to make sense Robbo

46

26 Aug 2026 15:42:20
Long time no see, Robbo

I really can't understand Liverpool's transfer market.

4

26 Aug 2026 15:45:23
Can't remember if was you, Robbo, or Thefields/Carra/Ned/Victor who said there would be a load of random names linked with us. Looks like that's what's happening!

13

26 Aug 2026 15:46:54
We went from Salah and Trent to potentially Frimpong and Saar on the right.

Smartest men in the room, and they are panic buying at the end of the window.

18

26 Aug 2026 15:51:23
This is Scrape the barrel mode.

12

26 Aug 2026 15:52:27
We are the Derek and Rodney Trotter of the summer transfer window.

17

26 Aug 2026 16:01:43
Good to see you back Robbo.
Liverpool's approach to this transfer window does smack of a scatter gun approach, I have to admit.

6

26 Aug 2026 16:11:09
It's a mess, complete and utter mess.

Would be better off now to get Barcola and keep Gakpo.

5

26 Aug 2026 16:26:31
I hope this is just a message to the PSG that we're willing to look at other people, and we come back to the table and secure Mbaye.

4

26 Aug 2026 16:27:19
I totally agree, ok!

Sarr is second rate. Going and speaking to Palace about players, and we arrive at Sarr? Mental.

At this point I'm actually concerned we don't get Barcola in.

I just want to see him signed up, and for whoever has left the tin of paint open in the offices to come and take it away after us coming up with Minteh and Sarr as ideas.

2

26 Aug 2026 16:47:21
I don't think PSG would be fooled by any smokescreens we try to put up. Equally, don't think that's what we're doing.

We have a football operations set up that's been in some form of meltdown since about Christmas, if the rumours on here were to be believed.

We even had Mo Salah making some cryptic and some not so cryptic comments about the lack of winning mentality at the club, on and off the pitch.

These disastrous windows (this one and the last two) have gone largely unchecked by a hierarchy who don't seem to really understand football.

And before someone says again that last summer's window was lauded by everyone, it wasn't.

Most were excited by the volume of attacking players we bought, but quite a few posters were questioning the wisdom of Kerkez, Frimpong and buying two centre forwards in particular.
I'd never seen Wirtz, Ekitike, Frimpong, or Leoni play so didn't know what to make of it tbh.

Whatever the history, it's clear the mistakes have been going on for a long while, and a huge amount of money squandered. Let's not give the directors more credit than they deserve, they've made a collective mess of things regardless how the next few days play out.

1

26 Aug 2026 17:00:03
Throwing bids around for them to be rejected is very unlike us.

If Sarr is coming in as a backup no9 while Hugo recovers and costs less than say £40m, I could get my head around it.

He really isn't a right winger. His assist record is terrible.

He's Danger Dickie at this point. Take the email, phone and cheque book away from him.

2

26 Aug 2026 17:04:39
This window is a shambles and I can see it ending horribly. I've been here before with FSG many times. It's just, the great Klopp just got on with it. One of the biggest clubs in the world that doesn't just spend what's needed when it's needed.

2

26 Aug 2026 15:57:24
Brilliant thanks Robbo 😊. Nail on the head Ed0666

1

26 Aug 2026 19:54:11
Where is Barcola?

3

26 Aug 2026 14:24:39
Breaking: Crystal Palace have rebuffed an initial approach from Liverpool for Ismaila Sarr.

Liverpool discussed a move for Sarr, 28, as their search for a right-sided winger continues and the Palace attacker was identified as a player of interest until it became clear his current club were not willing to sell.

[@David_Ornstein]

Reckon Pardo's next up on the list, wouldn't even be mad at all at that.

I think we might end up triggering the release clause of William Gomes, who is maybe raw and inexperienced, or sign Conceicao as a cheaper alternative and try again for right-wing in the future.

I wouldn't pay the high release clause, but at least try opening up a discussion with Porto. We might be able to get him for the same price as Mbaye ~45-50million.
