Must be a slow news week as it is being reported that Barcelona want Moreno in January!

Can't see that happening myself.

23carragold

{Ed002's Note - Barcelona have four LBs they have an interest in - prhaps they would be interest in a pre-contract for Moreno but I think it unlikely.}

1.) 12 Sep 2018 07:44:02
Well he wouldn't have to do any defending at Barca, so he might actually do quite well.

2.) 12 Sep 2018 09:14:37
I was having a conversation with a few friends a couple weeks ago about Moreno, and after a bit of debate we came to a conclusion that not many teams have a backup LB of his level. Additionally, we struggled to name more than 5/ 6 from the Premier League we would have ahead of him in general (I can't recall the exact list, but it's probably obvious) - I even had a United fan in agreement on this point!

In my opinion, he is a great option to have in back up to Robbo, if we can keep ahold of him.

That being said, I could see him doing well in Spain if he went back.

3.) 12 Sep 2018 10:12:41
I think the good thing and problem with Moreno is that he's so different to Robbo in so many ways. If we want to change up what we're doing because its not working he's a great option to have around as backup. But if we need to replace Robbo involuntarily (injury, suspension etc) then we really have to change how we defend to avoid the big gaping hole he leaves.

That being said, I am curious as to how he'd do next to VVD. Not curious enough to drop Robbo but definitely curious.

4.) 12 Sep 2018 10:16:56
Think the league might suit him as before, my question to the Eds is if you know what the club has in hold for him with his contract running down? Thanks in advance.

{Ed001's Note - the question more is whether he would want to stay as a back up.}

5.) 12 Sep 2018 11:13:12
Lewis looks like he’s going to be ready in the next year or so too.

6.) 12 Sep 2018 12:25:14
Honestly the kid showed his willing to knuckle down and do the hardwork pity his best isn't really consistent.1st milly now Robbo wouldn't really blame him if he moved on.1 thing for sure is that he always gave his all.

{Ed002's Note - Although this is not the Barcelona page perhaps I should explain. Barcelona has a #1 pick left back in Jordi Alba but when they first approached him about a new contract he was unsure, so they came up with a list of four players they could potentially look to as they did not see Digne as the ideal replacement. Since then, the player and the club have come to an agreement to discuss a new contract this coming winter, so the priority has switched to a replacement for Digne who has departed to Everton. This is where the problem comes, the club have a reserve player in Juan Miranda who they have great hopes for but he is not seen as ready to step up just yet - but they hope he will be. They have their eyes on a young left back who is seen to be ideal as an initial back up and then as an eventual replacement for Alba who will be one of a growing number of players who will be 30+ by the end of the season, but he will not be interested in being a back up. This puts them in the position of looking for cover in January with no budget assigned (as that budget is being taken up by significant purchses they are looking at elsewhere) - and Valverde wants a specific player but others want to utilise B team players if they can and save money for starters. They will look to add a LB in January but have shown no interest in Moreno at all - he doesn't feature in any of this.}

7.) 12 Sep 2018 12:25:30
Thanks again for the quick response.

8.) 12 Sep 2018 13:59:30
Who’s the player they want Ed? Alonso by any chance?

{Ed002's Note - I have no idea what you are referring to.}

9.) 12 Sep 2018 22:46:11
Wow Ed2 never fail to blow me away with your depth in. Knowledge. Much appreciate the insight!

I’m Hoping the significant purchase that you mention is not a current Liverpool player! Any chance you care to expand on that?

{Ed002's Note - Barcelona have plans to start on a rebuild due to having an aging squad. They will spend significant funds on the first pick players.}

10.) 12 Sep 2018 23:01:28
Thanks Ed.

Sounds ominous. can hear the jaws sound track dun dun dun dun dun dun.

{Ed002's Note - Other clubs are doing the same - Real Madrid is one example.}

11.) 13 Sep 2018 01:21:20
As always ED02, Thank You for sharing your insight with us, very valued by a lot of us on these rumor pages.

{Ed002's Note - You are very sweet.}

12.) 13 Sep 2018 12:34:42
Great read Ed, thanks for the info and time.

03 Sep 2018 15:27:47
Good Afternoon Redmen,

Hope all is well and that you are looking forward to the international break as much as I am. (Yawn) .

4 wins from 4, can't really complain, but I have to say we did not play well. The game seemed to completely bypass our midfield. We either played it back to Allison or long to the forward players.
I think Wijnaldum fell into a black hole in the 26th minute when he played that under-hit pass because from that moment on I didn't see him, has anyone checked if he is ok?!

In all seriousness Leicester is a difficult place to go and so to walk away from there with 3 points speaks volumes.

Enough of my ramblings, time for the loan update.

Southampton have a new striker who is setting the league on fire! 2 goals now in 3 starts for Danny Ings who scored the games opener as Saints beat Crystal Palace 2-0.
There is a history of Liverpool taking Southamptons best players and if Ings carries on like this we might not let them keep him :)

Ejaria scored his second goal for Rangers on Thursday night and this time it was a screamer.
Rangers only needed a draw to see them reach the Europa League group stages for the first time in a decade but Ejaria's early strike set them on the path for victory.
It was not a straight forward game for Gerrards boys though who were pegged back and reduced to 9 men in the second half!
However they clang on for a famous draw and can now look forward to competing in Europe this season.
Ejaria also played the full 90 against Celtic at the weekend and put in a good shift, unfortunately they were on the wrong side of a 1-0 defeat.

Ejaria has stolen all the headlines up North but Ryan Kent also played the full 90 in both games and put in good shifts, particularly against FC Ufa.

For those that missed it Sheyi Ojo moved to Stade de Reims on Thursday night and 48 hours he was thrown straight into action.
Ojo came on for the final 15 as Reims lost 1-0 to Montpellier.

Besiktas saw the best and the worst of Karius at the weekend as he made his first start for the club.
The first half saw Karius pull off a string of fine saves including a 1v1 to keep his team ahead at the break.
However with 5 minutes left in the game Karius completely misread a pass leaving him in no mans land allowing Bursapor to equalise. The game finished 1-1.

Grujic made his first start for Hertha Berlin and put in a mixed performance. Strong on the ball and good in the air Grujic dominated the centre of the park. However the young serb was sloppy in possession and also gave away a penalty.
Fortunately for him the penalty was saved and Hertha went on to win the game 2-0.

Awoniyi is finding life in the upper tiers of Football much more difficult as his struggles infront of goal at Gent continue.
After an ineffective hour against Bordeaux in the Europa league last week Awoniyi was subbed off with his team going on to lose 2-0 and be eliminated from the competition.
The young man was then left out of the squad completely for the weekend game against Cercle Brugge. With no suggestions he was injury it looks like he was dropped purely due to his bad form.

Randall made his debut for Rochdale in the league cup but was subbed after 60 minutes due to injury as they went on to lose 2-1 to Boro.
The injury meant Randall missed the weekends action.

The ever present Herbbie Kane played the full 90 for Doncaster as they drew 1-1 with Peterborough at the weekend.

And finally Adam Bogdan put in a good performance as Hibs lost 2-1 to Livingstone. There was little he could do about either goals and he was one of the few Hibs players who could leave the field with his head held high.

Whelan and Wilson are both still injured.

And that's your lot.

Very happy for Danny Ings. I only wish it would have worked out for him at LFC. I'm a big fan.

2.) 03 Sep 2018 16:48:59
Danny Ings is far better than Origi, solanke and at the moment I’d have him ahead of sturridge based on his last few seasons. A fully fit sturridge is a different matter, wish Ings all the best and hopefully he gets his career back on track as his injuries haven’t helped his time with us.

3.) 03 Sep 2018 22:17:54
Thanks Carra, nice update. The young reds seem to be struggling a bit apart from Ings and Ejaria.
👍.

4.) 03 Sep 2018 22:24:50
Great, cheers carra much appreciated mate.

Same here stone, I really like Ings, gutted it didn't work out for him here.

5.) 03 Sep 2018 22:25:22
I’ve watched a couple of rangers games and Ejaria does actually stand out as one of the best players in the rangers team.

6.) 04 Sep 2018 06:48:38
Cheers carra.
Where's Allan got to?

7.) 04 Sep 2018 10:19:56
I like Ingsy a lot too and it's nice to see him get starts. I've watched a bit of him and you can literally see the Liverpool in that goal as well as his all-round play.
Remind me Ed is the fee already agreed and can't be changed? 20 mil or sth like that is it? If he bangs in 20 for Southampton this season they'll be happy they got a bargain.
It's actually kinda nice to give something back to the club that gave us Virgil, Sadio, and, uhm, the rest. :)

{Ed002's Note - The fee has been agreed already.}

8.) 04 Sep 2018 10:10:44
Hi Faith,

Allan is currently with Eintracht Frankfurt but was left out of the squad at the weekend.

I just realised I also forgot to mention that Woodburn was an unused sub at the weekend as was Shamal George.

Arroyo was not in the Gent match day squad but this is understandable as he only made the move late last week.

9.) 04 Sep 2018 12:12:39
Great update as usual.

I particularly like the fact that you've developed a catchphrase - 'And that's your lot'

:-)

10.) 04 Sep 2018 15:07:21
Parma some say I am the 'Roy Walker' of Liverpool Rumours.

11.) 04 Sep 2018 18:44:31
Cool re:Allan.
Cheers bud.

12.) 05 Sep 2018 18:30:44
Thanks Carra! ’ Much appreciated! Always a good read.

Hello Redmen,

Sorry there was no loan update last week, I was Globe trotting. I wanted to go with ED2 but instead I was stuck with my wife.

Anyways I am back now, I hope you didn't miss me to much.

Danny Ings made his first start for his boyhood club Southampton and with his first start came his first goal.
Unfortunately Saints lost 2-1 to the bitter blues of Merseyside but I think we all agree its good to see Ings fit and firing.

Awoniyi is finally up and runnig with his first goal for Gent as they beat Jagiellnia 3-1 to reach the 4th round of qualifying for the europa.
Despite his lack of goals so far this season Awoniyi has started every game as the lone striker and has been a big contribution to the team.

Young left back Arroyo back with the Mallorca B team for the season opened his account for the club with his first senior goal.
His goal proved to be the difference as Mallorca B beat Poblense 1-0 in the season opener.

Wilson featured midweek for Derby as they beat Oldham 2-0 in the league cup.
Wilson got his first assist of the season as his pinpoint delivery was headed in for the opener.
Injury unfortunately ruled him out of the weekend defeat to Millwall.

Woodburn has waited for his first start for Sheffield Utd and he finally got it last week in the league cup. Unfortunately it was not a game to remember as United lost to Hull on penalties. Woodburn did however score his spotkick.
Things went from bad to worse for Woodburn who made his first league start on Saturday as Utd hosted Norwich.
A poor first half saw him substituted at half time. Utd went on to win 2-1.

Herbie Kane had an impressive game as Doncaster knocked Scunthorpe out the league cup last week.
Following his impressive midweek performance Kane kept his spot as Doncaster lost 1-0 to Burton at the weekend.

Shamal George started his first game for Tranmere in a 3-1 league cup loss to Blackburn. There was little he could do about the goals. George was back on the bench at the weekend.

Games are coming thick and fast for Ejaria and Kent at Rangers.
Ejaria started against Maribor in a Europa qualifier where a 0-0 draw saw them through to the 4th round. He also started the weekends 3-1 win over Hibs.
Kent came on as a sub against Maribor and played the full 90 against Hibs. It was his deflected corner that lead to the opening goal.
On a side note its good to see Gerrard make a good start to life as Rangers manager. Unbeaten in 9 and one round away from qualifying for the Europe league. Does anybody know the last time Rangers featured in Europe?

Lastly Bogdan featured as Hibs lost 3-0 to Molde and crashed out in a europa qualifier. To make matters worse he injured his hip in the game and missed the weekends action.

And that's your lot.

1.) 20 Aug 2018 15:59:19
Big thanks for the update carts woodburns form sounds a bit worrying is he not settling in Sheffield.

2.) 20 Aug 2018 16:01:04
Great to see you back, Carra. Love the update. Thanks for sharing.

3.) 20 Aug 2018 16:18:07
It's early days Tc77. The championship is a big step up from the u23 league and very physical/ competitive. he's got the skill set it might just take him a bit of time to adjust to the league.

4.) 20 Aug 2018 16:34:59
Thanks for the update Carra.

Was it 2007? I think they made it to the Europa league Semis. Back when it was the Uefa cup.

5.) 20 Aug 2018 20:41:21
Thank you for that.

6.) 20 Aug 2018 22:35:22
Cheers carra 🏆.

7.) 20 Aug 2018 23:12:28
Tranmere played Walsall mate.

8.) 20 Aug 2018 23:14:00
Out of interest Carra, do you know where woodburn has been playing, positionally speaking?

9.) 21 Aug 2018 08:26:00
Firmane - at the weekend he played at the tip of the diamond. I’m not sure where he started in the league cup match prior to that.

10.) 21 Aug 2018 10:18:57
Thanks Carra, was hoping he’d play through the middle! Just hope he takes his chance and maybe toughens up a bit.

11.) 21 Aug 2018 13:57:48
Only because they're my hometown team am I mentioning it, but it was Kilmarnock that Rangers played at the weekend, not Hibs.

I watched the game (and have watched a few of Rangers Europa games this season) . Kent is really fun to watch, very tricky, but at least 50% of the time at the weekend he lost the ball without doing anything with it. Definitely a good winger there, but needs to make better decisions.

Ejaria has looked good going forward for Rangers in the games that i've seen, but seems a little positionally naive, and doesn't contribute a lot defensively.

Steven Gerrard has had a really solid start, although they haven't really beaten anyone they shouldn't have beaten anyway. He's built a decent squad for a title challenge, but a lot of questions will be answered when they play Celtic next month.

12.) 21 Aug 2018 19:08:35
Will be interesting to see Gerrard vs Rodgers in the dugout when Rangers play Celtic.

13 Jul 2018 12:10:39
Is Wilson to Stoke an actual possibility? Or is it just the papers putting their normal spin on things?

If it is what do people think of the move?

He had a good record in the championship for Hull last year.
Stoke will be looking to bounce back up to the prem and if Wilson is the man who fires them there it could be a real milestone moment in his career.

23carragold

1.) 13 Jul 2018 12:19:02
he needs game time so I think it would be a good move for both parties.

cant see him getting much game time for us. maybe in the cups.

2.) 13 Jul 2018 12:34:27
Would rather he stayed and was a squad player with us, sure he would get more out of training with world class players everyday and if he can get some time off the bench in the pl then i'm sure that'd be great for him.

Have my fingers crossed that he stays around with us next season.

3.) 13 Jul 2018 12:36:10
I'd hope to see the lad get a good season run. Hopefully build up his reputation to come back and be an option should shaqiri not work out. Not writing Shaqiri off by any means, just see it as a good option for all parties involved.

4.) 13 Jul 2018 13:13:30
I would rather he sticks around and gets a shot at the first team. Worst case, he should get a loan move to a PL club. Stoke has a very different playing style to us.

5.) 13 Jul 2018 13:13:38
I’m not sure how training with the first team would be better than him playing a 40 odd game season in the championship, he needs competitive minutes. If Klopp has decided he’s not ready to be an option for us in the prem then he needs placing in the right team on loan. I would prefer we used him as an alternative to Shaqiri and place some trust in him but it would seem the decision has been made.

6.) 13 Jul 2018 13:17:36
Carra, Silly move. As is buying Shaqiri to ride the pine. Wilson should be the one coming off the bench, not being sent to Stoke.

7.) 13 Jul 2018 14:53:17
I agree brisbaneLFC . spend 13mil on a player that for me wouldn't get in any top 6 side or try and give Wilson a go off the bench. no brainer in my eyes, The championship is a different animal to the prem as well.

8.) 13 Jul 2018 15:36:51
There is nothing more important than getting minutes on the pitch. Training with world class players or not doesn't come close to actual game play. He will do well.

9.) 13 Jul 2018 23:53:30
whether or not you believe that shaqiri is here to ride the pine, whatever really. what is more to the point imo is that shaqiri is far more capable of competing with salah and mane for a starting berth than harry or ryan. their time will come and I hope they stay patient and make the most of their loan opportunities over the next couple seasons.

10.) 14 Jul 2018 11:58:05
Personally I hope Wilson goes on loan to rangers. Hopefully he would then also get some European experience with them (if there still in) as well as playing against some physically strong players in the league.

08 May 2018 13:32:18
Good afternoon Redmen,

Not the result we wanted at the weekend but it is still in our hands to get the job done.
If any of you are lucky enough to attend the game this weekend support the boys as if it was a final. Create an atmosphere to push the boys over the line and build a feel good factor ahead of the champs league final.

Now that my rambling is over, I will give you the loan update :)

Grujic was an unused sub as Cardiff sealed promotion on the final day of the season. Seeing as he was barely used for the run in I cannot see Warnock in a hurry to take him back next season.

Ejaria and Sunderland signed off a disappointing campaign on a high beating league champions Wolves 3-0 in the final game of the season.
Ejaria opened the scoring with his first senior goal.

Wilson had a frustrating final game for Hull as they drew 1-1 with Brentford.
Wilson had a second half penalty saved to which denied him the chance to be the hero on the day.
However Wilsons loan was a huge success with 7 goals and 4 assists in 14 games which helped Hull to safety.

Flanagan was left out the Bolton squad as his loan came to an end.
Bolton survived relegation thanks to 2 goals in the last 5 minutes to beat Forest 3-2.

Ryan Kent and Sheyi Ojo were also not involved for their clubs.
Kents loan has now ended whereas Ojo will be hoping to be involved in the play offs.

Chirivella's loan came to an end with a full outing as Willem II drew 2-2 with Vitesse. A strong end to the season saw Willem finish in 13th.
Chirivella started 30 of their 34 games this season, a key member of their squad in what was a very productive loan spell.

Corey Whelans loan at Yeovil came to an end with a 1-1 draw with Lincoln.
Whelan was in and around the starting 11 for the majority of his loan spell and can be pleased with what he achieved.

Origi has found himself back in the Wolfsburg line up in recent weeks and produced a lively display. However his hard work was in vein as Wolfsburg lost 4-1 to RBL.
Keita was suspended and so did not feature.

Markovic returned to the starting 11 for Anderlecht but found himself playing LB.
By all accounts he had a good game as Anderlecht beat Brugge 2-1.

Danny Sturridge made a rare outing for the final 15 minutes as West Brom continued their quest for a great escape with a last minute win against Spurs.
Unfortunately it wasn't Sturridge who scored.

Matty Virtue played the full 90 as Notts County drew 0-0 with Luton.
Notts are in the league 2 play offs and will face Coventry in the semi finals.

Awoniyi and Arroyo are injured and Randall was left out the Hearts squad.

And that is your lot redmen.

23carragold

1.) 08 May 2018 14:42:25
superb stuff, your hard work is appreciated. we really need to let markovic leave and pick up his career with another club.

2.) 08 May 2018 15:29:47
Terrific stuff carra. Very much appreciated.

3.) 08 May 2018 17:39:19
Thanks Cara. I'm struggling to think of a single loanee that will ever pull on the red jersey of Liverpool tbh
Bar youth players obviously. I think most have missed their shot.

4.) 08 May 2018 18:22:54
Cheers dude.

5.) 08 May 2018 19:56:27
Thanks Carra!

6.) 09 May 2018 15:52:58
Still have hope for Wilson and Ejaria to play a lot of preseason football and earn a squad place. I also follow Awoniyi, chirivella and I think adekanye (in the u23s) could make it.

Good Morning Red Men,

6 wins in 6! Cannot ask for a better start to the season than that.

My only surprise is that after both the Spurs and the PSG games I was left with a sense of frustration that we didn't kill the games off. I think it's fair to say we battered both teams despite not looking our best.

One thing to clear up is another camera clearly shows Salah celebrating Firmino's winner, so all posts on him allegedly getting angry are in the words of Trump "Fake News".

Now for moment you have all been waiting for. The loan update.

Only 7 of the 15 loanees played at the weekend. Ejaria, Randall and Wilson are injured, Allan, Awoniyi, Arroyo and George were all unused.

Ryan Kent opened his Rangers account as Rangers beat Dundee 4-0 at Ibrox. He doubled their lead in the 14th minute as he finished off a slick passing move.
It has been described as his best performance to date in a Rangers shirt and hopefully the first of many goals this season.

After a mixed debut and an error to forget Karius finally had the chance to redeem himself after the international break.
Starting in goal for Besiktas at home to Malatyaspor Karius did not disappoint.
He put in a match winning performance and made a string of fine saves to help ensure Besiktas went home with all 3 points in a hard fought 2-1 victory.

Grujic got his second start in a row as he looks to be settling into life at Hertha Berlin.
Deployed in the holding role Grujic had a solid game and helped his team battle for a well earned point in a 2-2 draw with Wolfsburg.

Ojo came off the bench with 15 minutes to go as Stade de Reims drew 0-0 with Nantes.

Corey Whelan made his first start for Crewe as the Republic of Ireland U21 was thrown in at left back for his debut.
He put on a solid display and helped Crewe keep a clean sheet in a 0-0 draw with Cheltenham.

Herbie Kane, who on current form is better than his name sake Harry Kane, made his 7th consecutive start for Doncaster at the weekend.
It was an all action performance from the youngster as he helped Doncaster beat Walsall 3-1.

It was an eventful game in the SPL as Bogdan helped Hibs beat Kilmarnock 3-2.

Danny Ings scored again as Southampton threw away a 2-0 lead to eventually draw 2-2 with Brighton at St Mary's.
Midway through the second half Ings successfully converted from the spot to put Saints 2-0 up in-front of the watching England manager Gareth Southgate.
Ings was withdrew late in the game and can now have a well earned rest as he is not eligible to feature against Liverpool this weekend.

And that's your lot :)

23carragold

1.) 19 Sep 2018 13:23:56
Brilliant Carra, thank you. Also worth mentioning the Ings didn't just score the pen, he drew the foul that earned it as well.

2.) 19 Sep 2018 13:43:58
Thanks hjikle,

I didn't watch the game so wasn't aware. Seems he is doing alright down on the South Coast.

3.) 19 Sep 2018 13:51:52
Thanks for the update Carra. I'm with you on the feeling of "unfinished business" after both the Spurs and PSG games. But I think those nights, like the 4-1 inflicted on ManC last season, will come around the same time, this season too. Let Keita, Fabinho and Shaqiri get fully integrated into the team, and let's watch as their rotation with Hendo, Milner and Wijnaldum becomes smooth and effortless. We'll be dominating teams more clearly and the scorelines will reflect it more clearly.

4.) 20 Sep 2018 08:22:17
Thanks Carra, I somehow missed this! much appreciated mate.

17 Sep 2018 08:49:33
I know Firmino's eye injury is nothing serious long term but do we know if he will be fit to play against PSG tomorrow?

He could sport an eye patch and still have better vision than half the players on the field.

23carragold

{Ed002's Note - The club has not said anything but the implication is that he willl be OK.}

1.) 17 Sep 2018 09:29:13
Thanks Ed.

Would be a shame if either team had players missing through injury as its all set up to be a great game.

{Ed002's Note - Kurzawa might be an issue for PSG aside from that it is only the long term injuries.}

2.) 17 Sep 2018 10:29:58
Firmino Tweeted that he's fine and that it was just a scare and precaution to go off.

3.) 17 Sep 2018 21:00:36
Bobby "No Look" Firmino doesn't need his eyesight to score.

13 Sep 2018 13:14:03
Alli And Lloris ruled out of Saturday's game!

Lloris is a big miss for them but the loss of Alli could actually hurt us.
Son is back with Spurs and now likely to start in Alli's place.

23carragold

1.) 13 Sep 2018 14:04:22
I'd much rather face Son that Alli. Not that Son isn't a good (and arguably better) player, but he's just rejoined the team having barely even trained with them for four months and it will likely mean that someone (either Erikson, Son or Moura most likely) will be playing out of position in a deeper role, which doesn't massively suit any of them and blunts one of their better weapons. Not that I wish injury on any player (. maybe Rooney. Hate that guy) but I'm happy we aren't facing either of those two, both match winners on their day.

{Ed001's Note - why has Son not trained with them for 4 months? He was training with them right up until he went off to play for South Korea a month or so ago.}

2.) 13 Sep 2018 15:42:02
You watch, now WHEN we make an example of them we're going to hear 'Well Spurs was without Lloris, is there any wonder' kind of stuff lol you can just imagine it!

I hope the lad gets fit soon though, I wouldn't wish injury on any player either. Instead of scoring about 4 past them it may end up been 6 now ;) roll on Saturday!

3.) 13 Sep 2018 16:16:26
Did he go back to them? My mistake in that case - I thought he went from South Korea to his summer break and then straight back to South Korea for the tournament (which would mean the last time he was actually at Spurs was pre-World Cup)

{Ed001's Note - no he played at least once for Spurs before going.}

4.) 13 Sep 2018 17:54:12
I’d definitely rather face Alli then Son. Son seems to have found a certain level of consistency and is their second biggest goal scoring threat. Alli seems to have regressed slightly. Not sure why he plays as high up as he does when he could definitely make a difference further back in the midfield.

Ether way Lloris out for Vorm is a much bigger loss for them. I still think Liverpool at their best can comfortably beat Tottenham at their best, but both teams have looked well off said best. Should be an interesting game.

5.) 13 Sep 2018 19:03:04
Salah, do you really care about the excuses? In most matches, one team or the other will be without someone who would normally start. I'd take a 1-0 win, but I actually think we'll do better than that.

And as always. Great to have you back, mate :)

6.) 13 Sep 2018 20:49:58
Cheers Ep mate :) .

Good Afternoon Redmen,

3 wins from 3, not a bad start to the season :)
Hoping now we make it 4 from 4 and take a real positive mindset into the the international break.

But enough of my ramblings, hers the loan update.

Ejaria has settled into life North of the boarder well and has been a near ever present since linking up with former Captain Fantastic Steven Gerrard at Rangers.
Ejaria's positive start to life at Rangers continued as he scored his first goal in a topsy turvy game vs Motherwell.
Rangers were twice behind in the first half before Ejaria struck just before half time to give them a 3-2 lead.
The young Red's strike looked to be enough but Rangers were stunned as Motherwell equalised with the last kick of the game.

Ryan Kent was an unused sub vs Motherwell but did feature for most of the midweek game vs FC Ufa in the Europa league qualifier.
Rangers won 1-0 and will hope to complete the job this Thursday, a positive result will see them qualify for Europe for the first time in almost a decade.

Grujic made his first appearance for Hertha Berlin at the weekend coming off the bench to help the German club secured a 1-0 victory in their opening match.

Awoniyi has had a frustrating start to the season so far for Gent scoring just once in 5 outings. The young Nigerian hoped to better his tally playing twice in a week.
The first outing was in the Europa league against Bordeaux in a game which finished 0-0.
The second outing was against Lokeren in the league where frustratingly the cross bar stopped him improving his fortunes. Gent went on to win the game 2-1.

Young full back Anderson Arroyo has had a busy start to the season.
He initially continued at Mallorca B as part of the already agreed 18 month loan from Liverpool. A loan which saw him have great success last season.
However it was decided after such impressive form that Arroyo needed stiffer competition and he has now joined Awoniyi at Gent.
The league clash with Lokeren came to soon for the young Columbian but the hopes are he will be involved next weekend.

Danny Ings made a second successive start for Southampton and almost found the net after a smart turn late in the first half.
But that was as good as it got for the Red loanee who was subbed just after an hour as his team went on to lose 2-1 thanks to a late strike from Slab Head.

It was no surprise to find Ben Woodburn on the bench after a poor showing last week.
The young academy starlet came on as a late sub as Sheffield Utd beat Bolton 3-0.

Herbie Kane is an ever present in League one Doncaster's starting 11 playing the full 90 in back to back 0-0 draws against Portsmouth and Shrewsbury.

Adam Bogdan returned from injury to help Hibs gain a point in the 1-1 draw with Aberdeen.

Connor Randall, Shamal George and Allan Rodrigues were all unused subs whilst Harry Wilson remained injured.

Cheers Carra, top notch review mate, keep them coming.

3.) 28 Aug 2018 16:10:10
Once again, thanks for the updates Carra!
On a side note, so glad to see Danny thriving at St Mary's! I'm wishing for him that he'll stay injury free - he's surely going to be their best player this season if he can!

4.) 28 Aug 2018 17:34:23
Cheers carra.

5.) 28 Aug 2018 19:29:13

Thanks Carra, can I ask who is slab Head? Lol.

7.) 28 Aug 2018 21:56:23
Slab head is Jamie Vardy’s nickname for Harry Maguire.

8.) 29 Aug 2018 08:17:53

That Babel is coming back?

YAAAY! Loved that guy.

2.) 09 Aug 2018 09:28:18
Heard Babel now flies the copter, big money to be made ferrying big signings about on deadline day.

3.) 09 Aug 2018 09:42:07
He should get a non-standard private jet.

4.) 09 Aug 2018 11:12:03
Just seen Ken in chippy round corner from Anfield.
With Carra and King Kenny.

Firmane - at the weekend he played at the tip of the diamond. I’m not sure where he started in the league cup match prior to that.

It's early days Tc77. The championship is a big step up from the u23 league and very physical/ competitive. he's got the skill set it might just take him a bit of time to adjust to the league.

There’s certainly talent there, but sometimes he can do to much with the ball with little end product. He likes his flicks and tricks.

He’s an exciting player and if given a run in the team I have no doubt he will prove his worth.

Every game is winnable and we have shown we can beat any team on our day. However each game should be treated as a Cup final and I am looking no further than Southampton.

One game at a time, asses the result, then move on to the next one.

Thanks Ed.

Would be a shame if either team had players missing through injury as its all set up to be a great game.

{Ed002's Note - Kurzawa might be an issue for PSG aside from that it is only the long term injuries.}

Im not worried about our finishing as we saw last season when on form just how clinical we can be.

its comforting to know that we have played 5 won 5 knowing that we are yet to reach our best.
