Kieran Morrison looks like he’ll go on loan to Sheffield Wednesday.
Calvin Ramsay looks like he’ll go on loan to St Mirren.
Ifeanyi Ndukwe looking like he’s going to Levante on loan.
Curtis Jones sale agreed to Inter Milan.
I did say the other day we’ll probably see 10-12 players leave the club in these final 2 weeks of the window and it looks like that exodus is starting. Hopefully clearing space for some new signings!
19 Aug 2026 18:36:56
The exodus is here
The happy ones are near.
19 Aug 2026 18:47:42
Do you still trust Richard Hughes to make signings? He might blow 130 mill on 1 player again, but that'll likely be it.
19 Aug 2026 18:57:41
What's that slogan, stay calm and support Liverpool, so stay calm, allow the process to work and enjoy all the new names.
19 Aug 2026 19:05:38
Calvin Ramsay looked sharp in pre-season, should keep him and give him some hours.
I would prefer Chiesa to be offloaded, Endo I will still keep until we have reinforcements in midfield.
19 Aug 2026 19:20:45
Ramsey is linked with St. Mirren. That, in itself, shows his level. Keeping him would be a waste of a non homegrown spot.
19 Aug 2026 19:24:52
Bezos is skint mate. Big season for Szobo playing Right Back and Right Wing.
When Isak gets injured in our 3rd game, who's upfront? Wirtz. 😂
It's been a terrible window this for Liverpool. Should've just kept Salah.
19 Aug 2026 19:41:46
Somehow Hughes has successfully managed to further downgrade an already threadbare squad this summer. The sooner he and Edwards feck off, the better.
Robbo replaced by one of the worst footballers I've seen in a red shirt in the last 10-15 years. Couldn't even get a game at Roma.
Konate replaced with a loan signing.
Jones replaced with a kid.
Salah replaced with no one (so far).
Not to mention, Endo, Chiesa and Elliott are still going to be employed by Liverpool Football Club well into 2027. Absolute madness tbh, Edwards and Hughes have been complete and utter disasters.
19 Aug 2026 19:48:12
Ramsay classes as non homegrown, so good to loan him out. Hopefully Chiesa, Endo and Elliot are moved on.
19 Aug 2026 19:50:34
I'll judge Hughes on the 1st September.
19 Aug 2026 20:01:15
Ramsey is 23, by the way, and his contract is up next summer. Surely if he's been loaned out the club cannot be thinking of giving him a new contract. The very fact that at 23 and having featured in a fair bit of our pre season, St Mirren are the club showing most interest in him shows where he's at in his career. Just let him go play there for a year and leave on a free next summer. And good luck the lad.
19 Aug 2026 20:01:45
What are you on about, Wirtzy?
Kerkez has looked good this preseason, and he never played for Roma...
Jaquet and Araujo are both miles better than Konate...
Nyoni has a much higher ceiling than Jones...
And there's still time to buy a RW...
Unclench, my man. Unclench.
19 Aug 2026 20:06:05
Edwards is gone so the blame lies solely with Hughes. Yes, it's been an underwhelming transfer window, and we will deserve everything we get, or, to be more precise, the trophies we won't get.
19 Aug 2026 20:24:23
The blame for what exactly, WD40?
19 Aug 2026 20:26:16
Gojonesgo, I guess he was talking about Tsimikas and the replacement being this summer not last summer where Robbo's actual replacement occurred.
Extremely dramatic, however.
Also Konate's replacement was/is Jacquet, not Araujo. Both are miles better than Ibou.
Salah was shocking last year, so Rio at RW is probably an upgrade, although I get the feeling Barcola will play out there a lot with Gakpo at LW. We'll probably see a very up for it Gakpo this season.
If we can get Wharton in as well as Barcola, our XI does look pretty dangerous.
19 Aug 2026 20:30:14
Gojonesgo,...
Kerkez has quite clearly not replaced Robbo's role of last season as the lb rotation option.
Jacquet was bought when the club were expecting to keep Konate, so he's evidently not the Konate replacement. It's a short term loan, which I don't hate, but it's a short term solution nonetheless.
Nyoni having a higher ceiling than Jones has nothing to do with the fact he's not ready to play nearly 3000 minutes of football this season.
And we haven't bought a rw and very well may not buy a rw until next summer.
19 Aug 2026 20:35:12
Drama! And back in the real world...
19 Aug 2026 17:20:18
Rumour has it James McConnell is staying and will be part of the first team this season.
19 Aug 2026 17:38:29
Excited if true to see him in the Carabao Cup and whatever minutes he can get.
19 Aug 2026 17:41:16
Just like a new signing.
19 Aug 2026 17:42:00
Nyoni takes Jones' place and McConnell, Nyoni's spot.
19 Aug 2026 17:44:18
He's a neat and tidy player but with very limited physical attributes at Premier League level.
19 Aug 2026 17:49:52
Needs to go out on loan, turns 22 in a month and is not going to play. With Jones going, we need to bring a MF in. This thinking that we will be alright with Endo, Nyoni and McConnell over a long season will end in tears. Would be a couple of injuries away from disaster. I do expect us to bring someone in though.
19 Aug 2026 18:08:39
We should have kept Tyler Morton. He's twice the player McConnel is.
19 Aug 2026 18:31:11
Morton is twice the player Jones is too.
19 Aug 2026 18:38:42
McConnell is another who flatters to deceive but still gets chances under successive managers. There must be a player in there for that to happen, but I just don't see it.
19 Aug 2026 18:54:14
McConnell has been the most disappointing out of the youngsters this preseason. So, this is either rubbish or he's doing something incredible in training.
19 Aug 2026 18:57:04
St. Etienne,
I don't see it either. He always looks laboured and rushed on the ball to me.
19 Aug 2026 18:42:18
Florian
It's delusional to say the least
19 Aug 2026 19:45:59
McConnell would struggle to get a game for most Championship sides and this is the level of Liverpool's now 5th choice midfielder. I'd love to think we're bringing a midfielder in but that would be foolish thinking to say the least.
19 Aug 2026 19:54:48
Yes it is Irish. Out of the three, Trey has a future here. A top talent, but that's what he is, a talent. Totally unproven at the highest level. The other two named are simply not good enough over a season. Doubt either will ever start another league game for the club going forward.
19 Aug 2026 16:20:06
Quick update with the caveat that this info is not from my normal trusted sources.
Barcola deal will be in the region of £125-130m, the issue is the up front payment.
A deal for Mbaye is not currently being worked on.
A deal for both Wharton and Gavi is in the works, we have open dialogue with Palace and Barca about signing them. Camarra will come into the equation if a deal for Gavi doesn't materialise.
Jones to Inter is pretty much done.
Koumas ans McConnell are likely to stay at the club with Ramsey, Morrison, Bajcetic, Wright and a few other youngsters moving on loan.
Expect a very busy couple of weeks with a load of non-starter rumours as well.
19 Aug 2026 16:38:31
Cheers TheFields. Hope you are well.
19 Aug 2026 16:39:02
Great news, TheFields. If everything works out we'll be well set up!
19 Aug 2026 16:40:00
Yes, TheFields!! This is what we want to hear, Barcola and 1 or 2 quality CM's are music to our ears.
Potentially frees Szobo up to cover some RW minutes too. Great news.
19 Aug 2026 16:40:48
Appreciate your info, TF.
I am not too keen on Wharton or Gavi.
Are we still in the market for right wing regardless? Or is this dependent on Gakpo sale? I am hoping we sign a right winger and Camarra rather than Wharton.
19 Aug 2026 16:43:53
Still need a RW, though, TF.
No news on that front?
19 Aug 2026 16:45:20
Cheers, TheFields.
Barcola fee is eye-watering. PSG taking us to the cleaners.
Both Wharton and Gavi/Camara? Wowsers.
19 Aug 2026 16:46:48
Would Gavi and Wharton be either or both? Would be delighted for both but I would assume that would be Macca out along with the announced departure of Jones.
Any idea on who we are looking at for RW if not Mbaye?
Exciting times.
19 Aug 2026 16:47:14
Cheers, TheFields. Hoping we get Mbaye as well.
19 Aug 2026 16:48:20
Cheers, TheFields, hope you're doing good.
19 Aug 2026 16:51:02
So no right winger, Fields? That's concerning if Rio and Munoz are going to be played there as first choice, and neither is a rw.
19 Aug 2026 16:56:26
Thank you, Fields.
Wishing that the transfer window closes smoothly.
19 Aug 2026 16:57:31
I'm good, now that I'm back in reality. 😂 Hope you're all well.
A winger depends on Gakpo leaving. I know Rayan has always been first choice, but it will be difficult. El Mala was also mentioned.
That would mean either Barcola or Rio playing predominantly on the right tho. Mbaye could come into play tho. I just don't have the sources in France to find out definite tho.
19 Aug 2026 16:58:11
Thanks, the Fields - two midfielders and Jones leaving will give Wirtz some cover too, with McAllister and Szoboszlai both able to play there.
I still think we'd lack a bit of experience on the bench in the forwards, but if this comes through we're almost there imo.
19 Aug 2026 17:00:01
Yeah, I'm afraid that's a bit too high on the wishful thinking scale. Going from the current possibility, we sign no one to replace Jones, to signing two high profiles and keeping McConnell? It just doesn't add up in any shape whatsoever. If we can get Wharton, I'm already shooting fireworks, but even that seems like a distance possibility.
19 Aug 2026 17:03:00
Even if Macca, Jones and Endo leave, surely with Szobo, Gravenberch, Gavi, Wharton and Nyoni, space for McConnell would be limited?
I love those options, and of course that's a more competitive and balanced midfield than we currently have, but I would wonder, if McConnell would be set to stay, would that imply Nyoni is likely to go out on loan.
Both McConnell and Nyoni would need guarantees of consistent game time, you would think, to be happy hanging around the fringes of the first team squad this season.
19 Aug 2026 17:06:27
Next week, guys, that'll be our week.
19 Aug 2026 17:13:55
PSG selling Barcola for £125m while buying Godts for EUR55m. They've really pulled our pants down there. If he was really worth that much, he would be starting for them and they wouldn't be okay with letting him go.
It's the kind of thing we used to do.
Seeing as we are now on the receiving end, it really makes me worry about the current decision-making at the club, especially as the experienced FSG potentially won't be the ones overseeing things in the not too distant future.
19 Aug 2026 17:15:02
The fee Man Utd were rumoured to be offering for Gavi was £40m plus add ons. Apparently he said no to them, but also no intention of leaving. It wasn’t reported whether Barca were willing to sell, although he’s hardly played due to game management after injury. I’d put that one in the possible but why would we risk it type category. Unless he’s just viewed as a cheap squad option to replace Curtis, if that was the case though I’d guess he wouldn’t come.
With Wharton it’s been said repetitively he’d be a Macca replacement. So does that mean he’s off, if Wharton is definitely on.
On Barcola, if the price fields is quoting is about right it’s got to make you think why have we waited all summer to drastically overpay for a player in a position that’s not critical.
If we still haven’t agreed an upfront fee as well. If we were willing to go that far on the fee it should have been tied up weeks ago, he should be training with us now and bedding in.
We can’t afford another Wirtz or Isak who take a year to bed in when we’re shelling out crazy fees. It’d be different if the brinkmanship results in us paying £90m plus add ons, if that was the case you’d accept the delay was worth it.
19 Aug 2026 17:17:17
Can see "things change quickly in football" in a few days. Sorry, no offense, but no way we are signing two CM's this season without Macca departing.
19 Aug 2026 17:18:24
Ooooo Fields to the rescue.
19 Aug 2026 17:20:21
Thank you TF. Keep chanting. 😁
19 Aug 2026 17:25:31
Honestly, don't see the point of signing Gavi or any interest in him, his knee is absolutely done for long term and he's only likely to carry on getting long term injuries. One hard tackle and he's done for again.
You'd think we'd learn from signing the likes of Oxlade, Thiago & Arthur that players with a history of injury issues simply cannot be relied upon. If Barca are keen to get rid, then there's a reason and it's not a good one.
19 Aug 2026 17:29:00
Cheers, Fields, good to see you back in your natural environment amongst the 5g. I hear too much of that chanting in drum circles can give you Covid.
19 Aug 2026 17:32:06
Leaving it too late for any of that, I think.
19 Aug 2026 17:36:35
Cheers, Fields... Hope something gets done soon as it'd be good to get him into the group as early as poss.
19 Aug 2026 17:40:09
Awesome news, Tf! Bit of positive hope there, if all goes as planned.
So:
Striker: Isak, Koumas, Gakpo, Ekitike (inj)
LW: Gakpo, Munoz, Ngumoha, Koumas
RW: Barcola, Ngumoha, Munoz, Koumas
CAM: Wirtz, Gavi, Macca, Szobo
Double Pivots: Szobo, Grava, Macca, Wharton, Gavi, Nyoni
LB: Kerkez, Tsimikas, Chambers
RB: Frimpong, Bradley, Gomez
CB: Vvd, Jacquet, Araujo, Leoni, Gomez, Chambers
GK: Allison, Woodman, Davies, Jaros, Mamar
Now this looks like a team ready to challenge for titles! Come on Reds!
19 Aug 2026 18:03:19
If 10% of that happens I'll eat my battered work boot, thanks for the info nonetheless.
19 Aug 2026 19:02:07
Hopefully it's just agents chatter with Gavi, it'd be another very high wage earner who's more out than in. Wharton, I'm not bothered about either.
19 Aug 2026 20:22:44
Hardly exciting. Wharton will get outmuscled and Gavi has the knees of Bruce Forsyth. The ITKs have been pretty iffy. Hopefully this continues.
19 Aug 2026 14:54:17
As nobody has mentioned it and it's all gone deathly quiet, does anyone know whether Curtis Jones is going to Internazionale or not? There just doesn't seem to be any information on here.
19 Aug 2026 15:55:16
Awaiting medical according to the reports I have read.
19 Aug 2026 16:10:14
Majority of our ITKs are taking a break, some due to the ignorance of some of our fellow users of this site. This might be the most depressing window so far, and no Carra, VG or Robbo to make it any better.
19 Aug 2026 16:11:56
Going going almost gone.
19 Aug 2026 18:15:04
Everywhere has it today, he's gone 35M.
19 Aug 2026 20:15:21
Some people don't recognise acute sarcasm.
19 Aug 2026 13:48:41
Curtis Jones to Inter in a deal worth 35 million euros, inc. bonuses, according to Matteo Moretto, a reliable source.
19 Aug 2026 14:56:49
Just seen Fabrizio post about it...
19 Aug 2026 15:04:57
I know he's in last year of his contract, but in this climate of over inflated transfers and for a player I don't really rate, can't help but feel short changed on this one.
19 Aug 2026 15:23:50
Sn, given that he's a bit part player who has never kicked on, isn't a regular international & has never excelled in any position, it's a good price for a player inside the last year of his contract.
19 Aug 2026 15:38:36
Good business.
19 Aug 2026 15:40:13
The price is ok for Curtis. Although in many respects he hadn't fulfilled his promise with us, good luck to him, it's also quite a proud moment to see a local guy get a move to Inter. They're still one of the giants of European football.
19 Aug 2026 15:40:25
It's a fair price and a good deal all round, but I guarantee in 1 year his value will have at least doubled.
Inter and the Italian league feel like the best possible destination for him. Good luck to the lad.
19 Aug 2026 15:48:40
Decent deal but selling players without replacements when we have an already small squad. I just worry we're transitioning to 5 aside.
19 Aug 2026 16:09:47
Surely with Juventus cancelling Arthur Melo's contract it's a clear market opportunity? Arthur 2, anyone?
19 Aug 2026 16:10:07
I do agree with the principle of your post, TCS, but in this instance, we have Nyoni ready to step up into Curtis's shoes.
Curtis played a total of 2,850 mins last season (all competitions), and a chunk of that was due to Szob at RB. Trey got 1,125 mins across all comps, and we have him and McConnel able to cover Curtis's mins.
19 Aug 2026 16:12:04
Chicken,
The club wouldn't sell if they had no replacement. His name is Nyoni.
19 Aug 2026 16:41:13
Reasonable business, never offers much, if only he was as flash as the motor he drives.
19 Aug 2026 17:00:01
On the rocks, VV.
19 Aug 2026 17:26:26
I was hoping someone would say that Evilfc.
19 Aug 2026 18:41:52
Birra Moretti, a reliable sauce.
19 Aug 2026 12:45:44
Seeing on BBC Ndukwe is close to going to Levante on loan for the season with the view of recalling him in Jan if he meets the points for his work permit. Think this is a good move for the lad.
Gets him in a top 5 league but with a team he has a chance to play for. An aside from the big 3 in Spain, he will have competitive games.
19 Aug 2026 13:31:02
Jan break clause too.
19 Aug 2026 13:35:32
Great loan if he gets playing time. 👌
19 Aug 2026 15:03:46
He looked so promising in pre season, hope we can get him back soon!
19 Aug 2026 15:46:04
I hope we don't need to recall him in January and that he can play a full season for Levante. It would be the best thing for his development, and if he improves further then I think we should seriously consider bringing him into the team next season.
19 Aug 2026 18:30:51
Most players who leave do not find the grass greener. Diaz was probably the recent exception. But some need a change of scenery or to get out of the pressure of playing in their home town. I'm not sure I see Jones as a prototypical Serie A player, though.
19 Aug 2026 12:09:33
Looks likely Ndukwe is joining Levante on loan. Good look to the guy. He looks a solid prospect for next season, so hopefully he has a good loan spell and plays as much as he can for them.
19 Aug 2026 12:55:26
Good move. He can pick up enough points for a wp before January if needed!
19 Aug 2026 11:04:34
A retraction
Here is something for you, an anti-runout of sorts.
A week or so ago I published a rumour about Liverpool scouting Takefusa Kubo following a chat with my pal in Japan.
I've caught up with him again and he said I'd caught the wrong end of the stick about his convo, so I thought I'd clear this up.
Some of his colleagues are working at an academy near Tokyo that produced Takefusa Kubo, and the rumour is that Liverpool are investing in similar academies to scout J-League prospects by proxy, as it were.
So just to confirm, no Kubo.
He said Liverpool FC have an employee over there called Dan Gavin setting things up for this.
Also worth noting that these facilities are like at U-15 level and no significant names he knows of are linked from J-League.
Apologies for any confusion, but some interesting news from someone who will give me updates if I badger him enough.
19 Aug 2026 11:20:57
Great rumour, thanks mate.
19 Aug 2026 11:28:50
Love everything about this post.
19 Aug 2026 11:30:22
Cheers, Scintillate.
I read that the J-League is growing in importance for the club scouts.
But perhaps that is an excuse for expenses-paid karaoke and sake benders.
19 Aug 2026 11:34:58
Makes sense. Feel like FSG, for the last number of years, have been trying to break more into the Asian market. I remember us signing Minamino, and I myself was excited by the prospect, and then, suspiciously, he always played a 12.45 kick off which was prime time for the fans in Asia to watch him play.
So makes sense they want to get in at the ground level and have us develop our own talent.
19 Aug 2026 11:35:07
Very insightful, did he mention where the Barcola done deal is?
19 Aug 2026 12:02:21
Cheers, great if we are looking at the Asian market.
19 Aug 2026 12:35:14
Random info gained from various commentators, (no definite or bona fide sources), but Japan have invested, are investing great amounts of money in a 100 year plan (I know) to win the World Cup!
Looking at their performances at this year's World Cup, it seems to make sense to jump in / aboard / along side their plan.
19 Aug 2026 12:40:44
Cheers, Skintillate, great info.
19 Aug 2026 13:12:43
Good info. Hopefully we see the benefits in 5 years or so.
Sure there are similar initiatives in other parts of the World too though.
19 Aug 2026 13:15:20
Thanks, Scintillate.
Your mate, is he big in Japan?
19 Aug 2026 13:57:24
@Origi. 😄
19 Aug 2026 14:37:00
Love that rumour, enjoyed watching the Japanese in the World Cup, played some nice interlinking attacking play, one for the future then.
19 Aug 2026 07:52:22
Dario Osorio being linked to LFC, overall looks like a good backup addition for RW or RM in case Mbaye is not happening, won't be expensive. Do ITKs have any leads on this?
19 Aug 2026 09:10:15
All boring now feels like many have switched off.
19 Aug 2026 09:11:59
For his price, worth bringing as well as Mbaye. Move on Chiesa.
19 Aug 2026 09:14:14
I was thinking that myself, Jay, considering it felt like yesterday's only change on the rumours page was the BBS post from before, it seemed like no one had anything new or interesting, hoping it's more the eye of the storm and we may do something today or tomorrow, but fear if we hear nothing by tomorrow evening, we won't hear anything until Monday as to not interfere with the build up to Sunday.
19 Aug 2026 09:20:28
Not exactly setting the world alight in a weak league, and that's being extremely generous, feels like a waste of a non home grown space.
19 Aug 2026 09:49:32
@Ape,
Why on earth would you replace Chiesa?
Chiesa is going to be needed for the first half of the season to sub on for Isak. Elliott will take over from Jones, I guess, if he goes, as I doubt we get Camara so quickly.
Endo as back up CDM, as well as the two additions up front, and we're good.
I thought Osorio was a good option early on, but realised there is better experienced talent out there (aka Mbaye).
19 Aug 2026 10:00:48
Apparently Everton are also interested in Osorio.
Blimey! Can't be that good then.
:-D
19 Aug 2026 10:10:46
Apparently... 1 bid already submitted and declined. Half the Prem and West Ham are interested. I'm gonna guess, given the very direct interest, that the player will move. Mighty left foot on him.
19 Aug 2026 10:12:23
Stradarosso, because Chiesa is now rubbish! Well past his best and not good enough for our club. If you think that those players you've listed are going to bring us the big silverware then you are living in the same fantasy world as Rio. You boys have eaten the wrong mushrooms. Enjoy.
19 Aug 2026 11:06:21
Chiesa is just like Elliott, underplayed, scarred by past managers (aka Slot, Emery) and have the skill, dedication and potential to become both squad player and substitutes for the upcoming season. @Shankly, out starters and wingers are all world class. However, you can't expect both the club to get all these players replaced at astronomical costs.
The players I've listed are simply squad players and no more than that. Endo, I believe, needs to be sold or replaced, but I think that Chiesa and Elliott deserve one more season to prove their worth.
To not back a player barely given a chance is just prejudiced and unfounded hate to start a new season.
19 Aug 2026 11:09:30
People still talking about Chiesa, Elliot, Endo and even Jones! - these players are not good enough to even be squad players for LFC. To compete for the top prizes you cannot have such a big drop in quality from your regular first team players and those who come in.
19 Aug 2026 11:26:01
Would love to see Osorio in the Premier League. Like Rayan, he's got the size for it. But yeah, might need a move to a Brighton, Bournemouth etc first.
19 Aug 2026 11:43:18
If we do sign Barcola and M'Baye, I would still keep Gakpo and use him as lw and cf option. This would allow us to move on Chiesa even if we just loan him out. The poor lad is not going to play and is better suited to a slower league.
19 Aug 2026 12:15:43
We had 3 capable front foot players Diaz, Salah and Gakpo. Last season, only Gakpo and also Rio, with his learning plates on, were players who instinctively looked to go past a man. Munoz looks like he can skin a man. Other than that we're pretty crabs!
19 Aug 2026 12:18:31
I like Chiesa's attitude and work ethic, but he has done nothing in pre-season to show he can play up top in any meaningful capacity, and now his pace has practically gone, he can't play on the wings either.
I don't see how he gets in the team or has any impact off the bench (Hope he proves me wrong). As it stands I'd rather move him on if we can and use Koumas or Danns when he's back.
