Diomande rumour going about:
Fee agreed 94.8 million euros plus 18 million euros in achievable add ons with a 15% sell on fee.
Contract terms agreed until 2031 at 180k a week.
19 Jun 2026 22:25:08
Sheesh, that's some lay out.
19 Jun 2026 22:29:42
Jokes on them 15% sell on fee... don't they know all our best players leave on a free. 🤭
19 Jun 2026 22:42:40
I laughed out loud at that Sofa fan and then realised Konate just left on a free. Maybe not our best players eh?
19 Jun 2026 22:43:36
Less than £100m.
19 Jun 2026 23:00:23
£82m rising to £97m isn't too bad. That's a total package of £153m over 6 years. Isak at £125m plus 280kpw is £212m over the same period.
19 Jun 2026 23:09:52
That's some serious £s for a 19yr old with 1 season. Let's hope he's that good!
20 Jun 2026 00:34:24
No chance we accept a 15% sell on clause paying that much.
{Ed001's Note - any sell on would be on profit I would expect.}
20 Jun 2026 07:39:55
If we have agreed a sell on fee that is pretty stupid. We're giving them 100mil f***s.
20 Jun 2026 08:24:22
Why such a short contract? 5 years only?
Then, we struggle to get the player to extend and lose them for free?
Need to add option to trigger an addiction 2 years.
19 Jun 2026 19:04:15
Not a rumour. Just wondering if there is any interest from ourselves in Said El Mala. Looks to be a quality player albeit another predominantly left sided one.
19 Jun 2026 21:49:05
You have answered your own question, no?
19 Jun 2026 18:38:11
Heard some rumours that Thiago is joining the coaching team.
The Spanish Inquisition has begun
Diddly out.
19 Jun 2026 18:47:34
I'm still over the moon we don't have to watch Arne ball next season.
19 Jun 2026 18:50:26
I wasn't expecting that.
19 Jun 2026 18:51:05
Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition.
19 Jun 2026 19:07:13
That was a surprise (which is one of your weapons).
19 Jun 2026 19:17:53
Love this... Hopefully Milner follows.
19 Jun 2026 19:46:46
And nice red uniforms.
19 Jun 2026 19:50:11
LFC8, I was only saying to my wife today, if Slot had stayed I could not have watched anymore games with his style.
19 Jun 2026 20:15:32
Seriously though, I like the Thiago / Iraola idea but it seems a bit weird.
Iraola is all about getting the ball forward, either by passing or by dribbling.
Thiago is more of a Guardiola type, at least he was when he was playing. Retain possession at all costs, pass them to death - that kind of stuff. They seem at odds in terms of their football philosophy.
That assumes Thiago coaches the same way he used to play, which could be completely fallacious.
I'm looking forward to Iraola getting his hands on McConnell because McConnell has been coached into retaining possession at all costs. He frequently, too frequently, passes backwards. That's his first intention. Iraola will seek to change that if McConnell takes it on board.
It'll make or break his Liverpool career, hopefully it'll make him.
19 Jun 2026 21:02:38
Thiago was part of Hansi Flick's coaching staff at Barcelona. They played more of a direct and aggressive style of attacking football.
19 Jun 2026 21:24:21
He's not bad as a halftime analyst for the World Cup.
19 Jun 2026 21:44:39
I think you are underselling Thiago, Ron. When fit, and on the ball, he was arguably the standout cm of the past decade. He was insanely good for the high intensity Bayern team that won the treble under Flick. And he was insanely good for us in the 2021-22 season, when we almost won the quadruple. Nothing about his play was slow in my opinion. While he was great at recycling the ball, I have never seen a better line breaking ground passer in my days of watching football.
I loved when he signed for us, and even though we only really got one good season out of him, I feel privileged to have watched him regularly. Definitely one of the most enjoyable players to watch. On a side note, that is why I have high hopes for Nyoni. His line-breaking passing reminds me a lot of Thiago.
19 Jun 2026 21:45:36
Great to hear from you Ned. 👍
19 Jun 2026 22:22:30
I just want good coaches, couldn't care if they played for us or Forest Green before.
20 Jun 2026 08:25:29
Cheers, Ned, appreciated as always.
19 Jun 2026 15:24:05
Ed, earlier you said Palestra was our most likely RB addition.just read that he's pushing for a Inter-move. Do you still reckon he'll sign? Also.who would you deem the most likely midfuelder-addition as things stand?
Thanks!
{Ed001's Note - I don't know anything with regard to Inter, but it would be a surprise if he did choose them. Seems a strange move.
As things stand, I haven't a clue who will come in for the midfield. I hope Iraola will have a look at McConnell in pre-season first, I think he can provide the bite we miss.}
19 Jun 2026 15:56:24
Expecting us to go back in with offer of around 98 million for Diomande.
19 Jun 2026 16:21:50
100% agree on McConnell.
Manager needs to see what we already have before new signings.
19 Jun 2026 16:26:27
Endo, McConell and Bajcetic should definitely be assessed first. There's argument to keep any one of them, but also to sell any one of them.
19 Jun 2026 16:13:12
Was saying the same thing about McConnell to a mate earlier in the week Ed.
Hopefully AI gives him a go and has a proper look at the lad.
Could be his type of player and what we need.
19 Jun 2026 16:57:32
Being reported in a few places that we're offering 115m euros, with £180k a week, deal for Diomande. Looking to get it sorted in the next few days.
19 Jun 2026 17:28:40
Bajcetic should be moved on. Injuries have held him back. I always liked the look of McConnell, and we need more homegrown players in the squad. I love Endo, but best for him to move him on.
19 Jun 2026 17:33:53
I'll wait and see if Bajcetic can be revitalised by Iraola as he is home grown and club trained too.
19 Jun 2026 17:39:25
Yeh, seen similar. We offered €100m, which is about £86.8m, but Leipzig are looking for €120m, which is about £104m. He’s under contract until 2030, as he was signed last season on a 6 year deal. I’m hopeful on this, as to jump straight in at £86m for a 19 year old tells you we’ve done our due diligence, and apparently been in contact with his reps for a while now. He looks an absolute beast and the potential heir to the Egyptian king. Think we get this one done!
Also hearing Schlotterbeck is done as a replacement for Konate. Apparently Ireola wants a solid, ready-to-go partner for Virg to replace Konate, and Schlotterbeck is seen as the player to do that, has a release clause, and Liverpool will get this done.
Leoni and Jaquet are seen as the future and will provide back up to both VVD and Schlotterbeck. Virg is looking to move on next season, and one of the young lads will step up.
Was given this info on solid grounds, and I’m here for it. Fully trust my source on this one.
Both are seriously close to getting done, but as the lads always say, anything can happen, specially during silly season. 👌
19 Jun 2026 17:42:34
Bajcetic home grown. Needs to get his head and body right. Could save us millions.
19 Jun 2026 17:56:57
Carra said RB have got to look strong regarding Diomande but not to worry. So I'm not.
19 Jun 2026 18:41:46
McConnell. When Klopp was playing the kids in that cup final (and in a few of the games in the run to that final), the hype seemed to fall around Bobby Clarke, Danns etc.
But McConnell really stood out to me. Came on in the final, and was so calm, and tidy with the ball.
The last time I was so impressed by a youth team graduate in midfield, was Carra's debut - as a midfielder! Thought he would be a classy Dm.
Shows that I know sod all.
Debuts can be deceptive. Igor Biscan looked like a titan on his debut (v Man U?), Carra I think scored on his debut, as did Collymore?
19 Jun 2026 19:21:51
Cheers for the info, RpMcMurfo.
19 Jun 2026 19:51:22
I thought McConnell looked great (even though he was being played out of his primary position) last pre season. He then followed it up with an excellent loan where he was even made captain at one point.
Hopefully, he will get a chance because I think he could do a great job for us.
19 Jun 2026 19:52:13
I don't think we can rely on Bajcetic or McConnell to fill the DM role on a regular basis. You need more proven quality to challenge for the top trophies.
19 Jun 2026 20:35:10
Is there anything out there that suggests either McConnell or Bajetic are anywhere near first team consideration.
McConnell has three senior appearances for us in three years, Bajetic twelve in four years. Other than the fact they play centre mid which is an area we're looking to strengthen I'm not sure why anyone thinks they can break into the squad or team. Clean slate with Iraola maybe?
19 Jun 2026 21:42:22
Could be wrong, but Kayode for right back is still my 100% preferred if possible - but big money flying around again and no EPL title money - so maybe wishful thinking, and need to be realistic, I guess.
19 Jun 2026 22:24:46
No, Overkill, there is not, in fairness. It's a big ask for either to get near the 1st team squad.
20 Jun 2026 06:41:47
Nice story, if it happens, I guess. More likely we buy Wharton for CM, also Trey has an outside chance.
19 Jun 2026 13:34:05
If we are looking for a CB is Huijsen potentially an option now as Real are flooded with CB. Also, and news on Miniguez the free agent from Celta. Also, if we don't get Diomande what's the back up? If Macalister is sold, which is possible, what midfielders are we really looking at? Alex Scott is the obvious.
But we have all been caught out with the Munoz signing. Is there potentially anyone else?
19 Jun 2026 14:52:20
Use the search function, buddy. All your questions have been answered over recent days and weeks.
19 Jun 2026 15:07:28
Ok, some of the names mentioned on here, pal -
CB's
Ordonez
Van Der Ven
Mid
Bouaddi
Kone
Thuram
Scott
Wharton
Wide
Diomande
Barcola
Forward
Nunez.
19 Jun 2026 15:09:37
Jones probably leaving, personal terms already agreed with Inter. We get Wharton/Scott, not bad.
Mac not clear, might stay, but Wharton, Bouaddi & Scott are possible replacements.
19 Jun 2026 15:14:06
We should ask Huijsen to join us on a free when his contract expires....
19 Jun 2026 16:01:07
The club is not going to pay 100m for Wharton or 80m for Scott. Hence alternatives have been looked at.
19 Jun 2026 18:32:49
We are a classic old school no nonsense DM.
20 Jun 2026 00:37:39
Did you mean to say 'in my opinion', @Keegan?
You have no idea what the club is (or isn't) willing to pay for Wharton, Scott, Diomande or anybody else.
As the Munoz deal shows (you were pretty quiet in the lead up to that one), the club makes decisions as and when an opportunity arises, and, as with Wirtz last season, are willing to pay a price that they (not Social Media) think is realistic for the player they are targeting.
19 Jun 2026 10:56:31.
Italian sources say Inter and Liverpool will meet next week to conclude the Jones deal. Personal talks already agreed with a deal until 2031.
Ornstein said yesterday that Liverpool have issued an improved bid for Diomande.
So hopefully it will be accepted. We always pay up for our main targets.
Turkish reports that Galatasary are trying for Virgil again. They will pay a transfer fee. Personally don't see him going.
19 Jun 2026 11:42:21
I don't see us having much choice on the Diomande fee. The pool for good wingers is tiny at the minute, and there isn't a world where we can drag our heels trying to replace Mo Salah. I reckon it gets sorted this week.
19 Jun 2026 13:07:44
Yes, it gets sorted. Look how he dominated Hincapie. The drop off in quality to the next targets is big.
19 Jun 2026 14:16:11
I think we need to just hurry up and get the Diomande deal over the line before PSG do what we did to Newcastle.
19 Jun 2026 14:33:57
If PSG wanted him, he'd be there already.
19 Jun 2026 06:10:35
Ed1, on Van de Ven, do we really have interest in him? I really hope its not. Before, when Slot was in charge, I can see why. The same as Dumfries case.
{Ed001's Note - I am not aware of us having any interest under Slot or since.}
19 Jun 2026 06:57:05
Van de Ven would suit Iraola's style of play, to be fair. He wants a really high line and ball playing CB's.
VdV is probably the quickest CB in world football, and he's one of the best on the ball too.
Maybe a decent coach can iron out his poor positioning. I remember, before we signed Van Dijk, many people were not happy with his defensive effort and concentration levels.
VdV definitely has the raw materials to be top class. At Spurs, he's just never worked with a competent coach. For all the injury worry, he played 35/38 league games last season. He can also play LB.
19 Jun 2026 07:21:55
The problem is, though, Adam, he missed 30 games through 4 separate injuries in 24/25, 14 games in 23/24, none in 22/23, 15 in 21/22 and 11 in 20/21.
So, is he injury prone and last year and 22/23 are just blips, or can we get him past his injury troubles.
Way too many soft tissue injuries for my liking. Hamstring listed 5 times across 4 seasons. I just don't think it's worth the risk when we already have 1 injury prone cb, 1 who is 34, and 2 coming off of season ending injuries.
19 Jun 2026 07:36:41
Injury prone and a total liability. No thanks.
19 Jun 2026 07:42:08
I don't know, MK, I'm not really convinced by him. He's quick for sure, but as you said, his positioning is suspect and he's also reckless. It's totally different with Van Dijk.
Van Dijk is already considered one of the best cb in the league when playing at Southampton. You can't say the same with VdV.
19 Jun 2026 07:59:34
Besides his obvious flaws as a defender, insofar as he is not actually that good at defending or anticipating danger, his attitude is quite patently terrible, as evidenced by his performances and behaviour under Frank. Considering you would have to pay close to 100m for him, you would expect a complete defender, and not somebody who has hamstrings made out of cheese, has a questionable level of professionalism and has clear flaws in his game at the age of 25.
It's not like Tottenham are going to fight tooth and nail to keep him either. Clearly they want to get rid of him and Romero to get some more mature and dependable center halves. Effectively they are selling their two most expendable, problematic assets to upgrade their spine.
19 Jun 2026 09:04:28
We've just got rid of one defender who repeatedly cost us goals due to his poor positioning. We don't want to replace him with another.
19 Jun 2026 09:17:40
Ed001 what's your thoughts VDV?
I think he reminds me of Kyle Walker both relied on there speed because they are so fast it has stopped them needing to learn position because it gets them out of danger more times than it's costs them.
But at the very top level they get caught out.
Everyone used to rave about Walker for England but he cost them so many times by loss of concentration and some times he would make a recovery run but a better defender would not need that all the time like he did.
I feel VDV is the same and as a few more injuries kick in he will lose some of that pace and only get worse.
{Ed001's Note - he is awful without the pace. He has a tendency to overshoot with tackles due to recklessness, his positioning and intelligence is lacking. He is good on the ball, like Walker, but his attitude stinks.}
19 Jun 2026 09:43:38
If we sign him, that means we will have VVD & VDV in central defence lol.
19 Jun 2026 09:55:04
We've just got rid of a useless CB so it would be the height of stupidity to replace him with someone just as horrendous. I very much doubt this is going to be a runner. It doesn't make any sense whatsoever.
19 Jun 2026 10:00:30
I really hope we aren't looking at VDV, nowhere near good enough for us.
19 Jun 2026 10:08:02
He is terrible & injury prone, avoid like the plague! Seriously, what's wrong with some of these scouts if VDV is the best they can come up with, there is a reason Spuds have been fighting relegation 2 seasons in a row now.
Most of their players are overrated crap and VDV is one of the most overrated and crappiest they have. Tell your sources to tell the club to behave, Carra, we need you to save us from these crappy targets. 🤣
19 Jun 2026 10:15:01
Can do better for the price we'd need to pay.
19 Jun 2026 10:23:21
Hard pass from me. We shouldn't be 'making do'. Should be looking to bring in the best available, and that's not VDV.
19 Jun 2026 10:31:47
Give him the wide berth.
If we are to go for a left-footed CB to phase Virg out, we should prise Dean Huijsen out of Real by using Macca. Excellent in the air and on the ground and has already worked with the new boss.
However, there is also a scenario that Virg has set records for minutes on the pitch this last season and still looks like the best defender in the world, even if not at his old levels.
Maybe the club will offer him another year on top of the year he has left, and hope that one of the 3 kiddies can fast track in behind Jacquet and Leoni.
19 Jun 2026 11:05:01
MKS, VDV is absolutely dreadful esp. when you take his pace away from him. Just like Kyle Walker (who I never rated) was. I do not see how he will fit in a system as competent as competent as Iraola if he simply is incapable of reading the game, anticipating danger, being disciplined in when to hold his position or when to go walk-about.
And, if his attitude stinks, then he is a non starter, for real.
So, if he cannot do any of these things I just mentioned then, what is the point of him coming? Just cos we play a high line (something I have not seen Iraola play, for starters) and cos he is fast? That's it? Nah, VVV can stay where he is. Far away from LFC.
19 Jun 2026 11:28:56
Seems like a clickbait non-story! Talksport - Alex Crook - now reporting on X that "#LFC are not actively pursuing Micky Van de Ven at this moment".
The article I read this on (Football365, another Mecca of journalistic veracity) is couched as if it was written a few weeks ago - referring to Konate being likely to leave etc - rather than now.
I think VDV certainly isn't on our priority list right now.
19 Jun 2026 11:38:25
He doesn't pass the no dick heads rule.
19 Jun 2026 12:09:50
Why get Van de Ven, when we can play Leoni? Not convinced VDV is better than Leoni, so I don't see the point. Would be a poor signing.
19 Jun 2026 12:32:30
Only advantage VDV has on Leoni (other than PL experience) is speed. We don't currently have a really fast CB. But let's see what we look like at the end of the window.
19 Jun 2026 12:05:43
Should go nowhere near him.Injury prone and was a clown to Frank.
19 Jun 2026 13:13:16
There's a shortage of available cb with Premier League experience without paying another crazy fee. Murillo was the one I thought we'd go for, but it's all quiet on that front.
19 Jun 2026 14:29:24
Leoni looked really quick to me, Zed, in the admittedly limited time I've seen him play.
He looked really good until the injury in the Southampton game and he was only 18. Time will tell how the injury has affected him physically and mentally, but, from what I've seen, I'd take him over VDV all day long and twice on match days.
19 Jun 2026 14:36:23
Van de Ven and Nunez in the same team. You'd go dizzy watching them whizz aimlessly around the pitch.
19 Jun 2026 18:53:35
I don't get the argument of "he's rubbish without his pace". He doesn't play without his pace. That's like saying Salah would be rubbish if he didn't have his left foot. Or De Bruyne would be terrible without his vision!
I don't know what VdV would cost so I can't comment on whether he's worth the price Spurs would ask, but I don't think he's a terrible or dreadful player. I think there are better options, but VdV is a good player in my opinion.
He has flaws (his positioning and reading of the game are not great) but his pace bails him out a lot. Some quite harsh opinions on him in my opinion. He's not world class but he's not dreadful either. It doesn't need to be that polarising when assessing players.
Personally I prefer Sclotterbeck if Virgil leaves, but VdV is not a bad choice if it works for us financially.
19 Jun 2026 20:06:01
You're not convinced VVD is better than Leoni? That's the funniest thing I've read in a long time. Dude plays a strong 20 mins against Southampton and suddenly he's the perfect CB. Utter rubbish.
20 Jun 2026 01:14:59
@Frode wasn't it VdV rather than VVD? Either way, I hear they are making a DVD about it.
18 Jun 2026 23:39:27
One to keep an eye on is Trincao. Portuguese media still adamant we are in for him at £50m. They also report Jorge Mendes, his agent, has told the club and the player that he expects Liverpool to come in at the end of the window.
Yasin Ayari of Brighton. We are interested. Only one year left on his deal. Only 22. Brighton want to renew his deal.
Looking into Ghana's Yirenki. Liverpool fan, similar profile to Essien, can play multiple positions in the middle as well as covering fullback. £20-£25m fee. Apparently we asked about him in January but were knocked back. One to keep an eye out on in case we miss our primary targets.
19 Jun 2026 07:08:27
We need to get Chema Andres and Caleb Yirenki over any other targets. They are the truth.
19 Jun 2026 07:37:37
I hope not re Trincao. He is not the profile we need.
19 Jun 2026 09:24:58
Man of Todd, you maybe right, but if the club are interested then they know better than us. He can play across the front and as an attacking midfielder. It seems multi-position players are what we want.
19 Jun 2026 10:36:44
Caleb Yirenki is a super interesting player and would be a good replacement for Endo if James McConnell and Stefan Bajcetic are not deemed good enough.
He's not rangey (quite short legs, actually), but he gets about the pitch, seems smart in his movement and positioning, is tenacious in the tackle and has a really good passing range.
I read that he's one of those players that you can put in any position.
He's certainly a player Brighton would bring in to replace Carlos Baleba if he were sold.
19 Jun 2026 12:43:21
Hard pass on Trincao. Just because the club are interested does not mean they know better. They've bought quite a number of unbelievable flops over the years.
Yalenki, I've only seen highlights as I don't watch Danish ball, but anybody being likened to and coached by Essien is definitely worth a look. We're desperate for that sort of physicality in midfield.
19 Jun 2026 13:37:18
Keegan Purm, Wirtz and Szob can play 10. Trincao is similar to Elliot. I would prefer a proper forward who can play across the three, rather than a hybrid type.
19 Jun 2026 18:09:53
Out of curiosity, why are people so against Trincao? Because he didn't do great previously? Neither did Salah, and countless other players too.
You have to remember, a good player in a bad system will look like a bad player, and a bad player in the right system can look like a world beater.
18 Jun 2026 21:10:07
Hi ITKs, has there been any progress on the contract negotiations with Szobo and Rio?
18 Jun 2026 22:14:19
So it's time for Dom to take a s*** or get off the pot... I'd love him to sign a new contract, but if he won't, we need to sell him before the end of this transfer window.
We all saw how he reacted to the crowd booing Trent, so we can't allow him to pull the same trick, fobbing us off all next season and leaving for free in 2028.
We need to make a decision quick before Madrid pay £120m on Enzo, because I can't see them spending another £100m + on Dom as well.
Surely we won't sell to another prem team, so that leaves Bayern or PSG.
Maybe a swap involving Barcola would suit everyone?
18 Jun 2026 21:52:55
Rio shouldn't be getting a contract increase, he a kid with a few performances, I think if true his camp accepted bayerns offer, he will drop us like a stone, I really don't think he will show any loyalty at all
He needs to work on his game, it's bad enough he's been promised first team football
18 Jun 2026 22:44:25
Rio will get an increase. A large one so that we get him tied down. Why wouldn't he? A lot of other teams would have promised him games to get him out of Chelsea. Why would he have huge loyalty to us, he's only here a couple of years.
See how he feels after a few years of playing at Anfield. And if he still wants to move on we'll get a huge fee for him.
18 Jun 2026 22:52:39
Rio has 2 years left on his contract. We need to get him signed to an extension as early as possible. Otherwise, Bayern will just take him on a free at the end of his contract. And, I for one, am sick of seeing good players leave out the door for free.
18 Jun 2026 22:56:52
Fatwallet, Rio's contract ends in 2028. We should 100% be looking at renewing it. We can't keep leaving contracts to get to final 12 months.
18 Jun 2026 23:12:22
They can't get him for free due to his age. But him moving abroad will be a minimal payment. Moving to another English club means the fee will go to a tribunal if it can't be agreed (never is).
18 Jun 2026 23:21:52
I felt at the time that Slobs was applying an exit strategy.
Can't quite articulate why, but that my gut feeling.
Everything is temporary.
We go on.
19 Jun 2026 00:01:51
You can't sell players under contract who aren't willing to leave.

Casy, it's not that simple, unfortunately, you can't just sell players who might be lining up a free transfer, clubs don't have that sort of power anymore, if the player wants to stay and run his contract down, he's well entitled to do that, and unless his form drops off a cliff, no manager is going to bench him at the request of the sporting director for the sake of 'tactical negotiations'.
Agree with Florian and WestYorkshire. Rio will get an extension, we've gone way too far out of our way for what was only a 16 year old to just let him go so easily, the club sees massive potential, but this season is huge for him, he will no doubt have to start showing some level of consistency and improvement to his game. There are major holes as it stands, and he's not yet good enough to justify seeing past them. He does have 2 years left, but I imagine talks will begin in some capacity this season, especially if there is legitimate interest from elsewhere.
Lennydalglish, Dom did bring up his contract negotiations unprompted earlier in the season, which was a clear sign that he wanted to stay at the time. But that's quite a while ago now. The clubs dragged their heels in more ways than one since, and things can change fast. All we can do is hope that he is in fact looking forward to working with Iraola and sees a big future with us. Currently he's the frontrunner to take over the captaincy from Virgil, he knows that, and that carries immeasurable weight. It's not something he'll be gifted in Madrid, if he has any brains, he'll learn from Trent's mistakes. If he can fall out with our fans so easily, imagine what they'll do to him at the Bernabeu. All that being said, I'd be lying if I claimed I couldn't see him in a Real jersey.

No reason why really, but there's just something about young Rio that makes me think he won't be here for too long. I get the feeling that we are a stepping stone on his way to 'bigger things' - at least as he and / or his advisers see it. The move from Chelsea to us was a step up the ladder for him, and the talk of Bayern (and his willingness to accept it, if you believe social media) suggests that he hasn't reached the top rung of the ladder just yet.
I'd offer him a contract extension with a really rather large release clause and, me being me, I'd have something in the release clause that a certain club in Spain is excluded from the release clause.
