Not sure if true, but my friend in Chester has said he heard that any issues with Alonso have been ironed out and he will be the next manager.

Again, take with a pinch, just passing on.

27

27 Apr 2026 09:08:26
Oh, you tease!

8

27 Apr 2026 09:08:46
Not sure if true or wishful thinking as he was always a big Alonso fan.

Sorry if not true. Never sure whether I should pass these things on or not.

8

27 Apr 2026 09:11:43
Thanks SA, I want this to be true. We need a new leader to get behind for next season. Doubters to believers 💪 C'mon Xabi. 🙏

6

27 Apr 2026 09:29:28
It's a rumour site, mate, whether it comes true or not isn't your problem. ta for sharing.

10

27 Apr 2026 09:57:56
SA, everyone will appreciate it, especially positivity and Alonso. 😂

1

27 Apr 2026 10:15:14
Pass, SA, for God's sake, pass. 😁

1

27 Apr 2026 10:27:32
I don't often get anything, but my mate is adamant with what he's heard. But, as soon as I posted it, I felt bad in case it's not true.

So, apologise if I get anyone's hopes up and it's wrong.

7

27 Apr 2026 10:51:47
No, brilliant rumour so thanks. Just verr verr tempting.

2

27 Apr 2026 10:52:32
Don't worry lad, there's nothing more I like than being teased and getting my hopes up. ;)

2

27 Apr 2026 10:54:19
Keep posting, SA. It's what this place is all about.

4

27 Apr 2026 11:22:17
Thanks SA...

Keep em coming, mate.

In all honesty, whether you're right or wrong... who cares?
It's a rumors site, so no matter what you post, or don't post, you'll always be rubbing 1 person at least the wrong way... so post away, mate.

A little word of advice if I may...

next time, spice up the story a little. 😜
Your friend in Chester, who is a limo driver, just happened to pick up Hughes doppelganger, who was on the phone with a Mr Jippeto, who is a famous football agent and represents a certain ex Real Madrid manager who also played for them.

4

27 Apr 2026 11:40:18
Ah, sorry, JLC. My mate is Richard Hughes' waxer and, during a particularly vicious waxing, gave up all the info.

😜

5

27 Apr 2026 11:41:47
I have spoken to my friend again and warned him if he's wrong I'll post his name and phone number on here 😂🤣.

I wouldn't really.

2

27 Apr 2026 12:01:33
This would be huge, hopefully it means Edwards/Hughes have had to loosen the reins when it comes to transfers.

0

27 Apr 2026 12:50:32
Thanks for the info. I'm totally on the fence with this one, feel it could go either way. I also feel like no decision has been made yet, or if it has there are literally about 4 people in the world that know about it. Hopefully your mate in Chester is one of them... Haha.

0

27 Apr 2026 13:10:56
That's the spirit, SA. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Even Cafu got in the spirit of things with his post below regarding his mate, a broker & FSG (Even sounds like a good start of a joke).

0

27 Apr 2026 13:24:08
You could be right, Chewy, maybe Alonso wants more control over transfers.

0

27 Apr 2026 04:24:41
Hmm I am made to believe that FSG are cashing out of the club and a significant offer is being postulated from Middle East to make them whole.

There is a FZ LLC involved as a broker and my friend will play major role at the club if FSG do decide to sell.

Fingers crossed then I can become ITK. 😂

All though I cant see any ME entity having interest in stumping up 7-8B in these times. Someone has not the memo.

7

27 Apr 2026 06:36:34
Cafu posts cryptic message at 4.24am.

Has he been out on the sauce?

Make of this what you will.

Cheers.

8

https://liverpool-rumours.co.uk/uploads/thumb_Ed001.png avatar{Ed001's Note - more likely he is in a different time zone from you.}

15

27 Apr 2026 07:08:39
And speaks a different language . In more ways than one ed!!

6

27 Apr 2026 08:29:13
I practice in ME, and I can assure you, in these times, no ME king or prince has a spare 8B to buy LFC.

I don't know, though, and am not in the know, but my friend does run a company that works with acquisition and investment for a select few ME rich houses and remains adamant that one of his clients is interested in buying LFC. But won't give the name, citing some privacy law to a legal guy.

😂
I would take it in jest but it's a rumour that has never died with FSG.
Oh, and he knows about all Man-City stuff, as he is close to that family, so I can't totally write him off and hence decided to share.
Also, just a deduction from my side - since he is using FZ LLC license I can be certain it's a Dubai based entity that wants to invest (if what he says is true).

6

27 Apr 2026 08:39:38
It is a rumour on a rumours page.

Cheers, Cafu.

12

27 Apr 2026 09:02:49
To be fair, you don't need cash to buy a club.

3

27 Apr 2026 09:08:14
If they really wanted to, they could raise the cash. They might just need to sell off their other sport-washing projects.

3

27 Apr 2026 09:09:03
A couple of hotels will suffice.

5

27 Apr 2026 10:05:05
As someone who spent many years working in M&A in the UAE, it is not just Dubai that has FZ LLC. Each emirate does. For instance, in Abu Dhabi, there is the ADGM free zone, which most of Abu Dhabi's sovereign wealth fund vehicles (Mubadala, ADIC etc) invest via.

I still have a good couple of mates that work in some of the SWF entities in the UAE, and they all easily have the means to acquire Liverpool if they wanted to - I just personally don't think they are that key as it doesn't align with their current investment strategies!

3

27 Apr 2026 10:48:53
Perhaps we'll see something on BBC or ITV with regards to FSG and LFC.

1

27 Apr 2026 11:11:40
That's correct, Red. But my friend's entity is Dubai FZ based and I don't think they can work in other Emirates in UAE. Hence, I thought it's someone Dubai based.

1

27 Apr 2026 11:22:39
As much as I've been sceptical about FSG in the past, overall they've been good owners, they've made mistakes and some bad decisions, but those mistakes don't overshadow the good work that has been done. The club is on a good footing financially and commercially, they got the rebuild of Anfield sorted, the club is in a far better place than when they bought it, I'd probably rather stick with them as owners than being sold to some random "consortium" who may not be as stable and savvy.

5

27 Apr 2026 11:25:54
Cheers, Cafu.

It's certainly not a favourable economic climate for a sports team acquisition, unless it is a fire sale.

But, as always, would-be investors will be constantly kicking tyres on potential deals.

0

27 Apr 2026 12:01:17
It actually wouldn't surprise me if FSG cash out soon. They want an NBA franchise and the NBA is going to expand, so this is a way to generate the money to go all in.

1

27 Apr 2026 13:17:55
Thanks for sharing, Cafu. I posted a few weeks back asking if FSG might be looking to sell in the next year or two. Rumours like this keep popping up now, I can really imagine it happening sooner rather than later.

1

26 Apr 2026 15:05:26
Nijmegen.

Kodai Sano - 22 y.o. Japanese International.

We're weighing up whether to stump up (around) 15m now, or allow him to move up a level (Ajax/Palace/Freiberg) with the risk of him becoming a 45m player after a season there.

Merci.

5

26 Apr 2026 15:57:15
They rejected a £17m offer from Forest in Jan and told Palace he's not for sale. £15m won't be getting him, that's for sure.

4

26 Apr 2026 16:13:30
Looks a busy, tenacious midfielder. How would he physically cope with the Premier League?

1

27 Apr 2026 03:39:12
Know nothing about him but I'm a fan of Japanese midfielders, they're normally very hard-working players... Oh wait.

2

26 Apr 2026 09:03:00
Salah to miss 4 weeks and the last games of the season according to the Egyptian National team coach. Very sad way to end his Liverpool career. 😥 YNWA Salah. 🙏 Thank you for everything. 🤝

37

26 Apr 2026 09:25:31
I don't know how he will know that so early, I doubt he would have even had a scan yet to see how bad it is.

8

26 Apr 2026 09:26:45
That would be a crap way to finish your time at Liverpool. I'm hoping it's wrong.

5

26 Apr 2026 09:49:31
The last game is at home, I'm sure the club will do something special for him and Robertson. Mo looks after himself, so don't be surprised if he makes it back for then anyway.

16

26 Apr 2026 10:08:03
At least he signed off his last Merseyside Derby with a goal and put his name in the record books.

20

26 Apr 2026 11:33:26
VVD spot on, two more games for Mo?

6

26 Apr 2026 11:53:16
Typical that. The man who's never injured getting injured in his last few games.
I'm sure they can throw him on in the last 5 mins in the last game so he can have a standing ovation.

11

26 Apr 2026 13:08:08
Fingers crossed, he deserves a proper send off. 🙏

5

26 Apr 2026 23:14:23
Depends on type of strain, but you'd have to think starting point is two weeks minimum, and that's with no running.

0

27 Apr 2026 10:33:40
I'm sure he will be given the last five minutes of the final game even if he's wheeled out on the physio gurney.

0

27 Apr 2026 13:15:57
If he isn't fit, the right thing to do would be to roll him out to wave goodbye at full-time.

Imagine if roles were reversed and we were sweating on Mo's fitness for a major tournament in summer, and then Egypt sent him out for 5 mins just to get a wave from the crowd lol.

0

25 Apr 2026 20:24:30
Not ITK, but can read!
Apparently Alonso has agreed to become Liverpool Manager in the summer: Don't shoot the messenger!

26

25 Apr 2026 22:00:15
Love a bit of MSN News! 👍🏻 Let's hope they're right, eh.

4

25 Apr 2026 22:06:24
Let's hope they're wrong - it says Alonso wants to bring Van der Ven and Gordon with him!

10

25 Apr 2026 22:08:29
Not holding my breath, but I would like it to be true.

7

25 Apr 2026 23:39:46
I bloody hope so!

2

26 Apr 2026 00:02:46
Think Carra said it's a no go at the moment, but it may be revisited.

4

26 Apr 2026 00:56:32
That story's actually from Football365 which is a dogs*** site, they'll publish anything.

10

26 Apr 2026 09:18:34
Even if Alonso doesn't come, I'd be more than happy with Hoeness if he gets the energy/fitness levels up and gets us playing more aggressively.

We're so much better on the eye and a more imposing threat when we play like that.

10

26 Apr 2026 10:13:31
Alonso will go to City.

3

26 Apr 2026 10:53:36
Hurts to say this cos I idolize Alonso, but I get this vibe that we are more into him than he's into us (that kind of a thing), and that sucks.

When Slot was first offered the job, he was willing to jump into whatever fire to get it, and that is where this club belongs.

The manner in which Alonso turned us down last time still hurts, and the attitude right now (admittedly, I know nothing of it) isn't encouraging, if true.

I think Seb Hoeness should be our target, imho.

8

26 Apr 2026 11:23:41
I don't get why posters think we have this right that coaches should favour us over everyone, and be burnt for life if they don't initially choose us

Alonso played for us for 5 years.
Alonso played for Real Madrid for 5 years.
He actually made more appearances for Madrid.
He is Spanish.
Real Madrid seamlessly have an unlimited budget.

What am I not understanding?

19

26 Apr 2026 13:11:35
Alonso didn't choose Madrid over us. He wanted to stay at Leverkusen another season, as he had just won the league with them in the 23/24 season, so we went with Slot.

Then Ancelotti left Madrid at the end of the 24/25 season, so Alonso went to Madrid.

We had just won the league, so why would we have changed.

I don't see the "how dare he choose Madrid" narrative going on.

18

26 Apr 2026 13:47:45
Sa, my point exactly.

4

26 Apr 2026 14:15:31
Sorry, Lfc1312, wasn't trying to repeat what you had said, mate.

3

26 Apr 2026 15:42:46
Alonso was marking time at Leverkusen, waiting for Ancelotti to leave.
Nothing wrong with that. Most coaches will jump at the opportunity to coach Madrid. He didn't turn us down to join Man.United.

4

25 Apr 2026 18:09:50
Were FSG in attendance today?

Any reason other than to watch us play.... Could it be more interesting, like sorting out contracts and meeting the new guy?!
(Fingers crossed)

Thought they would do the Chelsea game and last home game of season....

4

26 Apr 2026 04:18:57
1 + 1 = 5.

5

26 Apr 2026 06:00:35
Anyone notice the smug laughter from the directors box during the supporters protest?

17

26 Apr 2026 23:43:52
Perhaps somebody in the box said something that was funny?

0

25 Apr 2026 07:48:44
Sascha Britschgi (Parma - Right Back)

Liverpool have had scouts watching him at a good few games this season.

They have a relationship with Parma via Leoni.

No idea of any fee or if the interest is serious enough to warrant an offer, but he's 6ft - and at 19, can only get better.

Merci.

24

25 Apr 2026 09:28:30.
Ylfp 2. He looks good on little clips I could find.

Still have high hopes too for YLFP 1.

I like the look of the kid, and I'd be very ok with this one. Looks strong too for a 19 year old.

14

25 Apr 2026 11:50:25
I know football isn't played on paper (or on the interweb), but this lad is shown as Parma's 17th best player on WhoScored and as a midfielder. Has played four games at RB this season.

1

25 Apr 2026 12:14:52
A CM who plays RB...he'll be perfect for Slot.

26

26 Apr 2026 10:14:42
How do we have a relationship with Parma? Because we bought a player from them?

2

26 Apr 2026 23:28:34
Midfielder playing fullback? Perfect for Pep Guardiola more like it.

0

24 Apr 2026 21:35:31
Liverpool source states that a mutual agreement for Arne Slot's departure is still on the table.

Arne Slot believes that without a new contract, he will lose authority.

19

24 Apr 2026 21:51:33
We should respect his authoritaaaarrr.

66

24 Apr 2026 22:11:40
Time will tell, only another few weeks to get through and let's see what happens and what the future holds.

7

24 Apr 2026 22:18:52
That's posted by Indy....

13

24 Apr 2026 22:38:21
Liverpool sources. 😆 Awl Indy.

5

24 Apr 2026 22:55:37
@Raceylfc
Indykaila is an incel who works at KFC in Leicester (hence why loads of people replying to him on X make KFC jokes). Whenever he gets something 'right' it's cause he's copied it from other places, quite often here!

14

25 Apr 2026 05:50:30
There is a 50% chance Slot will leave, but a 100% chance the prediction is correct!

8

25 Apr 2026 09:36:09
Worry here for me is that the head coach - despite him not doing well this season - appears to believe there is a lack of authority to the position.

Meaning, Edwards and Hughes are running the football side of the club.

If that is the message that is going to potential new managers, we will end up with a second rate choice who is willing to answer to 2 individuals with no clue of how to build a successful squad and first team.

5

25 Apr 2026 13:07:44
Tomato source or Mustard source?
Maybe even HP source????

0

25 Apr 2026 14:53:07
Indy is not one person anymore. He has professional journos on his payroll now, given the size of engagement he has accumulated over the years. There was an article/interview with him a few months ago.

An impressive decade-long dedication to spoofing. Much like Fabrizio.

4

24 Apr 2026 14:17:38
Paul Joyce has claimed we are seriously interested in Inter right back, Denzel Dumfries. He will be available for just 25 million euros due to a release clause in his contract. That's a good price for a very good right back, but he is 30 years old.

11

24 Apr 2026 14:36:20
Hughes M.O "buy out clause" so probably got legs.

2

24 Apr 2026 14:36:45
Good price and fine player. Just seems out of character for FSG to sign a 30-year-old, although wouldn't be their first.
I'd be waiting for Spuds to get relegated and go Gray or Porro. I also like Kayode a lot. Maybe we are saving the funds to replenish the wings.

8

24 Apr 2026 14:44:30
Porro cannot defend.

Kayode is good, but would be 3 times the price of Dumfries. Denzel offers experience and quality for a low fee and has 3-5 good years in him.

21

24 Apr 2026 14:57:42
SirBobby, I'd guess that may be the club's thought process. We need to heavily invest in the wide attacking areas and in a top midfielder, so signing a right back because Bradley is injured will need to be sensible. We can't commit massive amounts of the transfer budget to a position where we already have 2 players.

I know people will say it's not our usual way, but when an opportunity arises, we do tend to take it.

Lambert, Toure, Milner, Klavan, Adrian, Thiago, Endo and Chiesa all spring to mind as cheaper and older market opportunities in FSG's tenure. Varying levels of success for sure, but with Dumfries it does feel like he's built for the Premier League. He's a big unit with a deceptive turn of pace. Other than Lambert, I'd say all of the above played their part in some good moments for our club.

9

24 Apr 2026 14:59:40
Makes sense. Assess Bradley without rushing him back.

Age profile adds some xp, to fill in and compete.

5

24 Apr 2026 15:03:51
Fully agree MK, I don't know if Denzel offers leadership/voice but we are crying out for some players willing to do the hard yards and the dirty work.

Not many in our squad you would want in the trenches.

5

24 Apr 2026 15:13:28
I think it makes sense. Get someone experienced to give Bradley and Frimpong time to recover properly and build up. Then hand over and be backup in a year or 2 as Dumfries gets older.

2

24 Apr 2026 15:17:59
I don't think that trying to become the Dutch national team is a recipe for success.

17

24 Apr 2026 15:18:13
Just sign the entire Dutch team to compliment Slot and his pedestrian approach to football...

15

24 Apr 2026 15:29:19
Wouldn't surprise me if we signed Memphis Depay and played him at CDM for 350k a week. Well, it would, but these are odd times.

7

24 Apr 2026 15:32:09
Let us not let current issues blight an entire nation of players.

We have had success with Dutch players in our side many times.

11

24 Apr 2026 16:21:15
Isn't Inter interested in Jones? Could be a swap or Dumfries plus cash for Jones.

1

https://liverpool-rumours.co.uk/uploads/thumb_Ed001.png avatar{Ed001's Note - haven't we already got enough injury prone right-backs?}

27

24 Apr 2026 16:27:40
25 mill for a guy that played about 17 games, just turned 30!! Liverpool would be nailed on mugs to do that.
You could get
1. Arnau Martinez for max 12-15m, can also play centre back.

2. Ivan Fresneda for roughly 12m.

3. I think Vanderson for Monaco would be a decent shout.

And maybe Dedic for Benfica. Either way, Liverpool need someone that can play 3 games in a row without needing intensive care because it's ridiculous - just someone steady and consistently available, id say is far more important for that back line.

21

24 Apr 2026 16:39:34
Have to agree with Postklopp.

One of the biggest issues we've had on the right-hand side this season, in my opinion, is the constant rotation.

Due to injuries and availability, we have been flip-flopping between Bradley, Frimpong, Gomez, and Dom.

This has been a massive problem.

It causes disruption in the back four, and I don't think it has helped Salah's form either.

My preference would be to sign someone (if we do sign a right back) whose fitness can be relied upon to give us some stability as a starting point.

7

24 Apr 2026 16:43:28
Tbh,
The more I think about it, the more I like it.
Could do a lot better.
However, for the reported 22million pounds, he has big experience at club level (multiple finals) and also internationally (World Cup, Euros).
I'm not sure he's a leader as per se. But we do need 1 or 2 older guys that have seen it all and done it all before. Who won't buckle in pressure moments.
He's also 6'2".

Physical specimen. Great engine. That power and pace is what we've lacked this year big time.
He's got 3 good years in him. Only just turned 30 last week.

It allows us to spend elsewhere most importantly, a good bargain to bring in another body in an area that needs reinforcements. The injuries are a concern, but he had ankle surgery so hopefully that's the ankle injury taken care of.

3

24 Apr 2026 17:16:31
The club just needs to sign a proper right back. One in his mid twenties-ish, who is proven, is reliable, is able to defend and doesn't have constant injury problems. Whatever that costs and whomever that is, is the one to purchase. It's not rocket science, it's what we need.

4

24 Apr 2026 17:46:45
Dumphries is too old and he's been injury prone over the last two seasons with this season being particularly poor. Would be a rubbish bit of business. As if being linked to Randal Kolo Muani wasn't bad enough.

14

24 Apr 2026 18:03:37
Picard would say, " Make it so".

1

24 Apr 2026 18:16:24
This reminds me of when Man City went after Maicon, who was another attacking full back at Inter (ironically), and similarly around the age of 30. Apparently, to all and sundry, he was the best around, but as soon as he got on the pitch in England, he couldn't handle the pace of the league and was getting pelters every week.

That's what we'd get with an over the hill full back from Serie A. Don't make it so. Leave well alone.

11

24 Apr 2026 18:48:06
Being 30 doesn't bother me. Being injury prone is the worry.

Ability wise, I think Dumfries is a good player.

I wouldn't do it simply because of injuries.

6

24 Apr 2026 19:51:54
Awful idea. Injury prone. Not what we need given what we already have at our disposal.

I suspect Joyce is only mentioning it because we asked in January when Curtis was linked to go the other way.

A nothing burger, imo.

5

24 Apr 2026 20:59:24
I'd be going for Oscar Mingueza on a free, can play across the backline in a Joe Gomez type role.

2

24 Apr 2026 22:40:02
If I was gonna sign a Dutch rb who's recently had injuries it would be Read.

0

24 Apr 2026 22:55:35
Kayode or Fresneda, both forward thinking and decent defensively. Anyone else isn't worth looking at. Dumfries is a crab.

2

24 Apr 2026 23:43:04
Few bob for them two, Jerry. Just makes Bradley's injuries all the more frustrating. Not top class every week, but has had enough special performances to know that there could be a top player there.

0

25 Apr 2026 06:45:30
Fresneda 12m?

1

25 Apr 2026 07:51:27
Hardly "a few bob". That's Robbo value, and Ivan Fresneda is a Spanish U21.
