The only consolation I can see from this is that we haven't spent 100 million on 2 players who were not in our original plan. Now let's start again. Hopefully we can go back in for Mendy and Keita.

RazorSharp

{Ed025's Note - they will cost £100m razor.. :)

1.) 08 Jun 2017 00:59:47
£100m yes, but both 1st choice targets. Throw in Salah and a RB and I am thrilled. Sell the players who don't have a future with the club and I call that a great transfer window.

I know it was just bad rumours going round before, but does anyone have any thoughts on Rabiot now we've seen him a bit closer up?

RazorSharp

1.) 20 Sep 2018 14:05:17
A bit of a funny haircut but a decent enough looking bloke.

2.) 20 Sep 2018 15:26:04
He played quite well, used the ball nicely on the few ocassions when psg managed a spell of posession. Clearly right now Hendo, Milner, and Gini have responded to the new competition in midfield so we have 5 capable cms. However he Rabiot would be a good addition for the long term.

3.) 20 Sep 2018 16:33:31
I'd say 6 capable cms. Lallana isn't finished yet.

{Ed002's Note - I thought I had dealt with all of the Rabiot stuff over and over already?}

4.) 20 Sep 2018 17:03:50
I didn't even know we were interested in rabiot? He is a good player but better than our boys? I don't think so.

Has Adam lallana made any match day squads yet this season? For one who showed so much promise it's sad yo look at his career today. Dropped from the England squad and dropped from the Liverpool squad.

5.) 20 Sep 2018 17:39:37
Think you will find Lallana is injured and has not been dropped by liverpool nor England.

6.) 20 Sep 2018 18:17:10
Looks a bit like that Cokney fitness guy who my wife fancies.
But it got her into exercising, so I’m good with that.
I’m sure he will look good in our Nivea and Levi ads.

7.) 20 Sep 2018 20:46:49
I was at the game and I have to say if people think Hendo just passes sideways then watch Rabiot he takes passing sideways to a whole new level.

{Ed002's Note - The relevance being what?}

8.) 20 Sep 2018 20:07:00
Well, he wasn't in the world Cup, despite playing in the champions league final. And he looked fit enough on pre season. Maybe not totally match sharp but he was all over the pitch.

He may have been injured for the reserves since, I don't know.

9.) 20 Sep 2018 21:24:56
The OP asked for people’s thoughts on Rabiot so I gave them my thoughts. Can’t see a problem with that Ed2.

{Ed002's Note - they all seem to think he will be joining Liverpool.}

10.) 20 Sep 2018 21:32:04
I don’t know anything about that mate. I just thought he was tidy but didn’t effect the game as he just went sideways and backwards every time he got the ball. That might be more about our press suffocating him but I just said it as I saw it.

Allison on the error. Sounds like he's got his head screwed on:

"It was bad judgement, I made a mistake reading the play. I didn’t get a very good pass [and] we talked about that in the dressing room and I spoke to Virgil. It wasn’t a good pass but I could have just kicked it long.

“I wanted to keep playing and keep the possession [and] now everyone is going to analyse that. I’m not going to be stupid and make the same mistake. We have to learn from our mistakes.

“It is part of my game [playing out from the back with his feet] but I am not going to be arrogant to stand here and say I’m going to keep doing it. We have to learn from our mistakes. ”.

RazorSharp

1.) 01 Sep 2018 22:26:24
Allisson is correct. VVD made a horrible pass to him. That said, Allisson should have done the right thing and just gotten rid of it. Well hopefully, lesson learned.

2.) 01 Sep 2018 23:02:08
I thought he was hacked down. Anywhere else on the pitch and that was a foul. If the keeper had done that tackle on a striker and it would have been a penalty.

3.) 01 Sep 2018 23:22:45
Absolutely not Ron. It was a perfect tackle. We'd have been proud if one of our guys had chased the opposition keeper down and forced the mistake like he did.

4.) 01 Sep 2018 23:37:05
It was a poor pass from Hendo to VVD and then a poor pass from VVD to Allison but you can’t accuse the pass being the reason why our keeper is attempting a cruyf turn in the box. He’s big enough to try things so he should be big enough to shoulder the blame. We will be saying he had concussion next. I’m sure Allison will move on and maintain the form he has already shown.

5.) 02 Sep 2018 07:42:17
There were poor passes from Gomez and Milner too in the build up to the goal. Wijnaldum and TAA both also got caught playing when they should have got rid at points. I admire the ambition to play out, but the players need to learn that sometimes the best option is to clear their lines and live to fight another day.

6.) 02 Sep 2018 10:10:55
it was always going to happen with alisson just glad it happened and we still went on to win the game! Hopefully he's once bitten twice any now with that type of stuff

anyways 4 wins from 4 up the reds!

21 Aug 2018 17:05:22
Sorry if it’s been answered but do you know why Fabinho wasn’t in the squad last night?

RazorSharp

1.) 21 Aug 2018 17:48:30
It is a) we have a really strong squad and b) Klopp is letting him get up to speed on the way we play.

{Ed025's Note - or he could just be a lemon?.. :)

2.) 21 Aug 2018 18:29:25
Ed025, are you trying to take over Ed002's mantle of making shocking statements and announcements, LOL? My goodness, are players even allowed to turn to be lemons at this level of the game and with these amounts of money exchanging hands?

{Ed002's Note - As I have already explained, he is struggling to settle.}

3.) 21 Aug 2018 18:44:01
Now, now ArAy, got to let 25 have his wishful thinking. He does support a small club, after all.

It was plain as day in pre-season that he's anything but a lemon. It's a matter of whether he settles. Hopefully he will.

4.) 21 Aug 2018 19:05:57
Mad Dog took some time to force his way into the side last season. Give Fab time to adjust.

5.) 21 Aug 2018 19:48:47
Flash? Is that a thing now? I don't think many on here are up to speed with 1980s American Football coaches.

6.) 21 Aug 2018 20:06:23
Fab will be okay. Sometimes it does take time to settle. We saw in pre season that he can play?

7.) 21 Aug 2018 21:40:08
Just me that thought he struggled a bit in pre-season?

8.) 21 Aug 2018 21:40:08
Just me that thought he struggled a bit in pre-season?

9.) 21 Aug 2018 22:47:54
With you on that rollanfield. When on the ball he looked composed, but getting the ball seemed to be a struggle for him. He did look pedestrian and the play seemed to move around rather than through him. That said, it's early days and let's hope he gels soon.

10.) 22 Aug 2018 08:38:04
Is the settling aspect due to the style of play of the team? Or is it due to moving to a new country, new culture, etc etc?

{Ed001's Note - the latter.}

11.) 22 Aug 2018 10:42:32
It'd be a real shame if he doesn't settle, because he's a real talent and could be a huge asset to this team. I think his versatility could add so much over the course of a long season.

Coincidentally, it looks as if Lucas Moura seems to be getting on at Spurs - which is great news for them. If I recall correctly, he had problems settling while at PSG, so they never really got to see his full potential. Whether that was due to not settling in France, or something else, I'm not sure - but, it's good to see him kicking on; he's certainly got the talent.

12.) 22 Aug 2018 15:44:08
Would much rather Fabinho be given the time to settle at the club and the with the football we play. He obviously has quality he'll get there eventually, it'll just take hard work by all concerned.

The alternative is he gets thrown in when not ready just to try and justify his price tag and he gets slated. like Fred at United.

Both Robertson and Ox were kept out of the team until they were viewed to be ready. No problem with the same happening with Fabinho.

13.) 22 Aug 2018 17:31:48
Just curious but what does a club do about a player having difficulty settling? What sort of avenues are available to help smoothen the transition and eventually see them become settled? Obviously different players have different reasons for not settling but how would Liverpool, as the example in this case, go about helping Fabinho to find his feet? Obviously taking him out of the limelight is one step (which is one I definitely agree with) but is there anything else?

{Ed025's Note - its not easy seano, they can help and advise him on buying a house which is a very settling first step, also when he starts making friends and more importantly his family do thats massive as well, learning the language will benefit him too mate..

14.) 22 Aug 2018 19:51:15
Must be hard moving from a mansion in one country to a mansion in another lol.

22 Jul 2018 21:36:59
You know what this purple kit is growing on me.

RazorSharp

{Ed002's Note - That would be a hygiene issue.}

1.) 23 Jul 2018 00:00:42
Hate it!
Too “blue-ish”.

Red home, white away, yellow third.

Why complicate it? 🙄.

{Ed002's Note - Sadly, like other club’s shirt suppliers, it is how they raise funds to pay the sponsorship and expand their businesses. Don’t blame the clubs - this is one of those rare cases where it really is someone else’s fault.}

2.) 23 Jul 2018 01:52:50
I liked last year’s orange one. Shame it only lasted a year. This year I’m going to get the away goalie shirt, short sleeve. It’s lime green :) Awesome.

22 Jul 2018 16:25:17
Who do you think our main penalty taker will be this season?

RazorSharp

1.) 22 Jul 2018 16:52:18
Fabinho, 19/ 20 career penalty record.

2.) 22 Jul 2018 16:52:42
Fabinho I think.

3.) 22 Jul 2018 18:02:16
Salah it'll be, quite rightly. Have you forgotten our little wizard?

{Ed002's Note - That would be the guy in a training bra and adult nappy?

https://twitter.com/WonderDogSparky}

4.) 22 Jul 2018 18:33:28
Chastity pants?

5.) 22 Jul 2018 21:15:17
Least he doesn't wear a frock to drink beer, 002!

6.) 22 Jul 2018 22:55:10
You sure about that MK? ;) .

Imagine having Nicola and Alisson playing for us.

RazorSharp

{Ed002's Note - Cagliari’s Nicolo Barella has been subject to being watched by Inter, Roma, Chelsea, Lyon, Juventus and Milan this season but his club insisted he was not for sale this summer when Roma enquired. Juventus took they interest no further and he is not first choice for Lyon but after talks with representatives of two clubs it emerged that at the right price Barella could be move to Inter if Matias Vecino were to move.}

I agree ldonovan. At this stage we should just wait and see. There’s I my 2 days left and the media are just trying to whip up a frenzy for dreads deadline day. I think as LFC fans we should just sit back and relax knowing that we’ve had a good window and we can look forward to a great season.
