Hi Eds and Reds! Question for Eds most probably Ed001. What’s the feelings toward Jarrel Quansah at this point in time? Seems quality in a position we’re allegedly trying to recruit. I’m a real sucker for bringing our own through has a nicer feeling to it. Is he expected to stay and play or loan?

Nunez Nunez

{Ed001's Note - he is being looked at in pre-season, a decision will be made on him there.}

1.) 18 Jul 2023 07:49:13
Fingers crossed all goes well for the boy then! Thanks for the response Ed have a good day.

One for Ed001 and others, if we do sign Timber where would you see him utilised and how good a signing could he be?

Nunez Nunez

{Ed001's Note - he is a right-back at his best, though often plays centre-back. Not sure I would see the point in his signing when we need a left-sided centre-back and already have 4 players who can cover right-back. I don't see him as a step up at centre-back at all. I don't like him there when I have seen him.}

1.) 25 May 2023 21:11:37
Ed what would you’re choice be from those we have looked at thanks in advance.

{Ed001's Note - we don't need a right back.}

2.) 25 May 2023 21:31:50
Thank you Ed001 for your reply mate! I haven’t seen much of him myself other than when we met in the CL. Perhaps it’s for RB to allow Trent to be a traditional CM instead of this hybrid role. Time will tell I suppose!

{Ed001's Note - we don't need one. Bradley is perfectly capable.}

3.) 25 May 2023 22:05:54
agree with ed. spot on.

4.) 25 May 2023 22:50:39
Who miss the fourth Ed? Trent, Gomez, Ramsay and?

{Ed001's Note - Bradley.}

5.) 25 May 2023 23:22:01
I agree with you Ed in that RB isn’t something I’d be inclined to spend on in Klopp’s shoes! However he may have his own ideas. Have reservations about Timber at CB, although having earlier admitted not seeing much of him, purely down to his height.

6.) 26 May 2023 08:27:26
@Ed01 - do you think Bradley at RB would work for us next season?

{Ed001's Note - yes, it would have worked this season too. It was a stupid decision to send him out on loan and buy another right-back. It is bad financial management of the kind that has put us in the situation we are in. Lots of poor recruitment choices on where to spend the money and who to keep and who to get rid of.}

7.) 26 May 2023 10:26:54
Ed001 what other financial recruitment mistakes do you think we’ve made?

Do you think Nunez for the price we paid Is one or do you believe he will justify the price tag?

{Ed001's Note - a long string of them really imo. Almost every player was given a salary that was bigger than should have been. As for Nunez, that was the price that needed to be paid, it is not really the transfer fees so much that bother me, it is the surrounding payments that have hamstrung us. The overlarge salaries, too many players in the squad making that even more of an issue, agent fees etc. That is more of a money drain than the actual transfer fees.}

8.) 26 May 2023 10:55:19
Ed001 cheers for the reply.

Seems like agents enjoy working with us as they get a overinflated pay packet out of it.

Out of curiosity who has the final say and signs off on what we pay these agents.

With regards to wages I agree that players are massively overpaid but I suppose the clubs fear is if we don’t pay them what they want then someone else will. Which is all well and good the players you want to move on but not so much the ones you want to retain.

As always appreciate the reply.

{Ed001's Note - Edwards and Ward were in charge of negotiations. Hopefully the new SD will be a little more parsimonious and actually keep the wages within manageable levels and trim the squad down to a reasonable size too.}

Does anyone think Quansah will feature for us in preseason/ next season? See he’s called up to England U20 squad but haven’t followed his loan.

Nunez Nunez

1.) 12 May 2023 00:44:05
I assume he’s going ok as he’s just been named in 5he England’s-20 World Cup squad.

2.) 12 May 2023 06:52:18
Joey Barton really rates him. Which means absolutely nothing as Joey Barton really rated Joey Barton.

3.) 12 May 2023 07:28:17
V hard for a youth player to break into a top team at cb, really needs to be able to play another position like full back r midfield to get experience at the start. Carragher last to come threw and play cb but played for years at full back, I think he was about 25 before he cemented cb position. Before him U probably have to go back to Phil Thompson who cememented a cb position coming threw youth. Gary ablett+ Dominic matteo played there but neither really a regular for a period of time.

4.) 12 May 2023 09:03:54
MK ? I get that Digger, but can it be THAT hard against out CBs? ?.

5.) 12 May 2023 09:52:46
Nunez. It would be difficult enough to play as a cb at liverpool even when we where at our best. With us so attack minded our cbs ast to defend 1 on 1 a lot of time, big ask for a 19/ 20 year old. At same time as u say it not impossible and let's hope he does make it threw, he seems highly rated.

6.) 12 May 2023 11:02:30
MK Scouser, whatever Joey Barton tells Quansah to do, he should do the direct opposite.

7.) 13 May 2023 02:30:33
Seems that Barton may be right about Quansah - Liverpool have just agreed a new contract with the lad.

I’d prefer Quansah stayed and gave it a go. Captain England youth, good preseason and only get better next to Virgil and Konate!

I hope not. Them two would be great but more would block Bajcetic, Jones and Morton getting chances. We still have Thiago, Hendo and Fab, depth is good but too much just kills off the youth! Would love them two though would transform us.
