Hi all,
Bradley Barcola is set to become a Liverpool player.
Liverpool have reached a broad agreement with PSG but the Parisian side would like to hold off on the media briefing until Akliouche is a done deal.
30 Jul 2026 16:59:20
Great news, Vic, word is that a deal for Akliouche has been agreed. Have you heard anything?
30 Jul 2026 17:02:43
Great stuff, Vg, thanks mate.
30 Jul 2026 17:05:06
Cheers, Victor.
30 Jul 2026 17:26:24
Cheers VG, great news. 😎
👣
30 Jul 2026 17:30:23
Good new, Victor.
Vamos!
30 Jul 2026 17:51:10
Cheers, VG, mate. Hope we can move on to Rayan or Igor Thiago now.
30 Jul 2026 18:01:47
Is it just me that thinks it odd that PSG are seemingly supposedly settling for a lesser player in Akliouche? Or are they laughing at us for paying £100m+ for Barcola?
I haven't seen enough of either TBH but feels a bit strange.
30 Jul 2026 18:03:43
Cheers, Vic.
30 Jul 2026 18:07:07
Enrique is letting Barcola go for a reason.
30 Jul 2026 18:12:12
@johnny, I think it's more of a case that Barcola wants out in search of first team football whereas Akliouche will settle for 2nd string.
30 Jul 2026 18:14:16
Yes, Lightsise, and that reason is because Barcola has rejected PSG's contract offer because he wants to play for Liverpool.
He rejected them because he wants to play every week, and he knows that in any other team in World Football he would be an undroppable star player.
PSG just happens to have Kvaratskhelia, who is probably the best footballer in the world right now, and also favours the same position that Barcola favours.
30 Jul 2026 18:40:21
Also on Enrique letting Barcola go, he's ready to be a consistent starter aiming to become an elite level footballer. Him being replaced by Alikouche isn't a way of putting doubts over his credentials and his possible move to us. It means he's wanting to make the step up in terms of football time and development, and PSG are actually replacing him with lesser quality at this current time.
All positive for us, I'm afraid, so you can't really insinuate Liverpool are losing from this deal regardless of any crazy price we pay, unfortunately that's just football now.
30 Jul 2026 19:58:38
It's a bit disingenuous to act like PSG are letting him go because they think he's crap.
Barcola is leaving because he wants starter minutes and PSG want to cash in as much as they can because he's refusing to sign a new contract. Plain and simple.
30 Jul 2026 20:10:04
Appreciate the news, Vic... Anything more about Gakpo to Spurs?
Kindness,
D11.
30 Jul 2026 21:34:11
Wondering why Barcola is leaving PSG. Have yous seen the options they have? Literally have 4 of the best attacking wide players in the world. Delighted we are seemingly signing him and yet PSG have 3 other wingers I would probably have preferred. That's not dissing Barcola. Kvaratskhelia is just that good, Dembele Ballon d'Or, and Doue is going to be unbelievable.
30 Jul 2026 16:13:16
Ed001
Have we shown any interest in Sadiki at all this window?
Think he would be an ideal fit for what we need
Him or Nmecha would both work well
{Ed001's Note - sadly no. I wish we would as I think he is an ideal player for us.}
30 Jul 2026 17:40:29
The first rule of Sadiki?
We do not talk about Sadiki.
IYKYK.
30 Jul 2026 17:57:24
You prefer Sadiki, I prefer Sudoku.
Rumour going round that Sudoku is very good in the Box!
30 Jul 2026 18:21:49
I am Damo Sadiki.
30 Jul 2026 18:25:01
Hearing we have a firm interest in Sudoku. Now we just need to make the numbers add up.
30 Jul 2026 20:53:53
Is that the yoghurt sauce?
30 Jul 2026 21:43:01
I was trying to think of a Suduko pun, but I am too tired. Nice work though, guys. I will chip in later if I can think of one. 🤣
30 Jul 2026 11:03:40
Morning Gents
I've been told a bid of £110m for Barcola has been accepted.
Cheers.
30 Jul 2026 11:09:38
I guess we will wait and see. 👀🙏🏻
30 Jul 2026 11:11:17
Great news. Thanks, Robbo.
30 Jul 2026 11:11:32
Thanks Robbo, great news. 👍
30 Jul 2026 11:12:45
Nice 1 Robbo. 👍🏻
30 Jul 2026 11:14:53
Thanks for the update, Robbo, much appreciated. 🤞 We hear this today. Hopefully a CB/RB, RW and DMF next.
30 Jul 2026 11:16:39
Cheers, Robbo. I know it's not my money but £110m sounds a bit more reasonable than the other numbers.
30 Jul 2026 11:25:57
PSG finally agreed their deal for Akliouche, so hopefully speeds things up.
30 Jul 2026 11:48:50
Tanks, Robbo.
30 Jul 2026 11:51:24
Vamos! Good new, Robbo.
30 Jul 2026 11:53:50
Ta, Robbo. Hopefully we finally get this over the line.
30 Jul 2026 11:55:21
Awesome news, Robbo, thanks.
30 Jul 2026 12:01:48
Thanks, Robbo.
30 Jul 2026 12:02:31
Hopefully it gets over the line.
Transfer fees are getting out of control. I wonder if the bubble will burst at some point...
30 Jul 2026 12:13:56
Great news, Robbo, thanks a million, or 110!
30 Jul 2026 12:19:46
That's great news! Be nice to get this one over the line asap and avoid any further delays.
Ta muchly, Robbo!
30 Jul 2026 12:39:59
Brilliant, cheers, Robbo.
30 Jul 2026 12:48:10
Hope it's something like £80m-£85m and add-ons to go to the £110m.
30 Jul 2026 12:55:47
Cheers, Robbo.
It's Richard Hughes working day tomorrow, so maybe we get another Friday announcement.
30 Jul 2026 12:56:22
Stop worrying about the money, Kloppiche. Transfer fees and wages have been obscene for the last decade. That will never change. I am just happy that we have good owners, are well managed, and they reinvest back into the club.
30 Jul 2026 12:58:41
Cheers, Robbo. Hopefully it gets done asap, and we move onto the other areas that need addressing before the start of the new season: rb/cb, cm and rw, and possibly a back up striker if Iraola doesn't think he can fill from within the current squad.
30 Jul 2026 12:59:56
Kloppiche, in a market where Morgan Rogers and Elliott Anderson are worth £116-117m, I really cannot see a world where PSG let Barcola leave for less than £100m. And nor should they. It's pretty clear English clubs have more money than sense right now.
Barcola is an acid tested Champions League winning quality winger, and 50% of his Champions League goals have come against Premier League teams, so it's not likely he'll suddenly start struggling against those same players!
30 Jul 2026 13:28:44
£110 million for someone of Barcola's skillset is insane to me.
Then, I look at the alternatives, and I realise what little else there is out there. We needed pace, and we got that in abundance in Barcola, even though the rest of his game is hardly top tier.
Just doesn't sit right with me.
30 Jul 2026 13:32:50
Hopefully true, so we can get onto other transfers.
30 Jul 2026 13:36:20
@Mango, His finishing is erratic, but he's a good dribbler and is technically sound. I'm sure he can work on the former. Remember, we were saying the same about Ekitike before he came as well. The French have talented youth who can all take people on, which is what we need. If he improves his end product, we have a player on our hands.
30 Jul 2026 13:39:09
It's not our money and the club have proven over many years that they know how to run a club financially, so just take it as we potentially have a great new player for next season.
My only concern is that we are still light on the right wing and overloaded on the left. Swapping Gakpo for a RW seems the most logical solution. One step at a time, I guess.
30 Jul 2026 13:42:17
Nice one, Robbo. It feels like next week will be pivotal for us transfer-wise.
30 Jul 2026 13:55:40
The icing on the cake would be talks between Madrid and Diomande to break down. Real Madrid is not the kind of club that will take dictation from anyone and get pulled into mumbo jumbo that works in other sports and in other continents. They're too advanced in the game to get fooled by people; whether they're run by Jay-Z or Julio Iglesias.
I never wish bad for anyone, but after reading about his agents' flirting and playing around with several teams at the same time and his having a new favorite every other week or so, I do wish for "what goes around comes around" to happen.
30 Jul 2026 13:59:49
Great news, in this market, I was concerned it would be north of £120.
30 Jul 2026 15:11:38
Fortunately it was south of the north that you imagined it might be, @Chewy.
30 Jul 2026 16:11:10
A risky, Edwards fantasy football
Signing, who would
have been good if signed from Lyon. As it is, he could be an average signing, imo.
30 Jul 2026 16:23:58
Nice one Robbo.
Seriously, tho, people moaning that he's not good enough are the same people that probably said Salah wasn't good enough before he moved to us. I'm not saying he's going to put the same numbers, but no doubt he will be an excellent player for us.
30 Jul 2026 16:55:03
West Derby, hang on 'til I get me compass out, mate!
30 Jul 2026 17:11:51
Kaka009, if you're suggesting we don't need a 42 G/A, 2x UCL & 3x time Ligue 1 winning Barcola because we have a 9 G/A, 21yr old Munoz who has just 1 season of top-flight football with a team that barely escaped relegation, I suggest you give your head a serious wobble.
30 Jul 2026 18:08:25
Cheers, Robbo.
30 Jul 2026 18:12:03
I really don't get why fans concern themselves with how much the club pays for players.
Whoever the club buys, give them a chance. If they are crap, then it's time to complain.
30 Jul 2026 21:21:56
@Lightsise, give it a rest, for a start, Edwards isn't at the club anymore.
30 Jul 2026 10:43:58
The STC is in NYC to discuss targets with Iraola. He was given time to assess the squad outside of the main guys coming back and whilst we prioritised wingers. Whilst Barcola is being wrapped up, we are moving on to other targets.
I'm told there is a 3-man shortlist for defensive reinforcements. All 3 can cover both CB and RB - Kounde, Geertruida and Konsa.
Another winger will only come in if we are shifting Gakpo. He is not in a hurry to leave and we are not pushing him out the door but there is serious interest from Spurs and Bayern, who are looking to shift Diaz to bring him in.
He would favour a move to Bayern.
Midfield is difficult. We have too many midfielders and a couple will need to be shifted, I don't expect any movement on in's or outs in this position until we are back from the States. Elliot, Jones, McConnel, Bajcetic, Endo and Macca all have clubs sniffing about. Target-wise, Wharton, Camara, Sangare, Bouaddi are all of interest.
30 Jul 2026 11:17:04,
Sangare not go to Brentford for £41mil?
30 Jul 2026 11:18:12
Thank you, Thefields!
30 Jul 2026 11:18:20
Cheers, Fields.
30 Jul 2026 11:22:53
Cheers.
Would be happy with Kounde, Geertruida, but wouldn't like Konsa, as would cost a fortune being English. Was still hoping on Diomande but we will see.
30 Jul 2026 11:36:00
Great update, thanks.
He's a good lad, but I'd snap your hand off to sell Endo and get a better replacement in.
30 Jul 2026 11:49:54
Tanks, TF.
30 Jul 2026 11:52:04
Good news, Fields, thank you.
30 Jul 2026 11:55:02
Great update, Thefields. Thank you.
30 Jul 2026 12:15:11
Thanks for the update.
30 Jul 2026 12:18:28
What's with this STC nonsense?
30 Jul 2026 12:19:16
What's going on with Diaz, TF?
If I was Bayern, I'd keep him for at least another 2 years.
30 Jul 2026 12:26:42
STC is Hughes. Sweet Tongue for C I forgot.
30 Jul 2026 12:28:36
Nice one, Thefields. Thanks for the update.
30 Jul 2026 12:41:07
STC= Silver tongued Charlatan.
Thanks for the update, TF. Looking at the midfield options listed, Wharton or Camara would be the most likely, if, of course, others can be moved on.
30 Jul 2026 12:43:08
C is for Charlatan.
30 Jul 2026 12:44:18
Silver tongued charlatan.
30 Jul 2026 12:48:47
Brilliant TF. 👏
30 Jul 2026 13:02:34
I can confirm from experience he is not a nice human.
30 Jul 2026 13:06:06
Good info, thanks, Thefields.
30 Jul 2026 13:25:07
Thanks for the update, TF and Robbo. We need a proper rw to replace Salah. It's essential. Rayan, plus Kounde for rb and Bouaddi in mf, please. Every one of those 6 mentioned should absolutely be sold, if there's interest as mentioned, to fund a required midfield overhaul.
30 Jul 2026 13:29:35
BeKind, who, Diaz? Redkai, he's probably looking another big money move like he tried to do when with us for years. Always wanted Barca, ended up at Bayern. Isn't his dad his agent? Probably go to Spain then on to Saudi in a year or 2.
30 Jul 2026 13:30:15
Great post, TF, thanks.
30 Jul 2026 14:01:12
Thanks for the reply, KloppDawg. Does make sense, since he's in his 30s, looking for a bigger payroll.
30 Jul 2026 14:03:04
Bouaddi is going to Man City.
30 Jul 2026 14:46:04
No deal has been agreed with Brentford or Citeh for either Sanagre or Bouaddi. Not heard anything official either about those mobes either. We have an interest in the players, if they go elsewhere then so be it, but our interest currently remains.
30 Jul 2026 15:43:25
Great to hear they are both possible options still.
30 Jul 2026 16:15:24
Kounde or Konza, yes please.
Surely, Endo, Jones and Alexis are gone, and we’ll
be needing at least one new
signing to
cover those plus Nyoni.
30 Jul 2026 16:40:56
By the time we sort ourselves out we’ll probably be getting Bouaddi of Citeh on a free in 10yrs time. 😅
30 Jul 2026 16:57:32
Cheers, Fields. The midfield is feeling rather stale, a shake-up in that area would be most welcome.
30 Jul 2026 18:10:41
Cheers, Fields.
30 Jul 2026 18:31:49
Letstalk, well, it appears to have happened with Sangare. Bids have been accepted from Brentford.
30 Jul 2026 09:09:02
Hi all, has anyone else seen the clips of Jones again arguing? Honestly this guy seems to be causing issues. I'm sure I saw one of the ITK guys put he was causing problems last season. I really don't like the guy's attitude lately; walks around thinking he's God's gift. It's a shame as he used to come across really down to earth.
30 Jul 2026 09:57:38
Always said he seems to believe his own hype without ever delivering on the pitch, one I really wouldn't mind going. Surely, there is another scouser around the team with the right attitude we can bring in around the squad. Just wish Danns was fit!
30 Jul 2026 09:58:00
Go back to the Jurgen LFC documentary and see what even Jurgen has to say about him. 'He was not a nice person.'
The guy wants to elevate his status and will
probably only see Italy as a step
up as he'll be able to buy couture every week.
Good riddance.
30 Jul 2026 09:58:16
As much as I'd like to keep another English player in our squad, I think he needs to be sold.
Let's be honest, he's not gonna start most weeks, and he still hasn't learned to release the ball earlier.
30 Jul 2026 10:01:45
Let's not start assuming things without any proper context.
30 Jul 2026 10:08:29
Yeah, seemed he had an issue with Dom over something, some people speculating it started because he was frustrated with the referee not calling blatant fouls, others say it's because Dom gave Tsimi the armband when he came off, no idea myself, I really hope it's not that petty.
In his defence, Dom's no angel, as we know. Apparently Jones wasn't happy at the end of the last game either, no clue why. I've been advocating for him as I'd like to see if Iraola can get the best out of him, but if he's gonna be like that going forward, then he can jog on.
30 Jul 2026 10:14:33
I was pretty surprised Kostas was given the armband ahead of him. Maybe that's the issue.
30 Jul 2026 10:27:25
I'm sure it's nothing major.
People love to jump to conclusions on this site, especially the wrong ones, and are very, very quick to completely character assassinate a player, even our own. Is this just modern day society, or is this something more sinister?
I don't get why people are so quick to slate our own players.
We are not in a position to let players go. Don't know if you have noticed, but we haven't exactly been signing many recently, and letting more go because people on a forum don't like them wouldn't be good business, in my opinion.
30 Jul 2026 10:33:57
Guy has the ability of Jay Spearing but the ego of Ronaldo. Should have been binned as soon as he started doing them stupid handshakes and wearing sunglasses inside.
30 Jul 2026 10:38:40
Do we not want a bit of needle in the group? I feel every team has someone who gives off to others around themselves to be better.
I remember watching a U19 game against a European team. Harvey Elliott and another player were arguing over who was going to take a penalty. Jones, who was captain, walked over, took the ball and hit the penalty himself. He told Elliott, in no uncertain terms, if the arguing happens again, I will take the next one too.
I had immediate respect for the lad from that point.
He was a captain at youth level, and that doesn't just leave a player's psyche.
I admit, though, even this morning he was firing off loose passes. On a congested pitch, to be fair, there was little room to thread passes.
For now, I feel he does enough to warrant match day squad place, as when he is on form he can lift the team. He needs to find consistency and steer clear of injury. Who knows, working with Iraola could be what he needs to step up and nail down a position.
30 Jul 2026 10:39:59
From what I seen, he repeatedly said 'I'm done'. I'd get rid, use Trey instead.
30 Jul 2026 10:48:15
It's amazing that so few people actually know him personally but so many people are able to judge his personality and character without the benefit of ever having met him in person.
30 Jul 2026 11:00:04
The only one that can really tell us what went on with Jones is Thefields... But then again, he doesn't have to.
30 Jul 2026 11:09:47
Mbwell77 - A bit of needle in the dressing room is absolutely a good thing when it comes from players who themselves have the highest standards. The likes of Effenberg (going back a bit) could demand more from teammates because even though he was a b****rd, he was the best player on the team and never let the opposition have their way with his teammates.
Souness is another. People will offer respect to whiners if they are also very skilled, but they will do the opposite otherwise. Though Jones brings a much-needed Scouse connection to the gym (ignore anyone who says this isn't important - it's critical), he is in no position to be providing the needle in the dressing room.
30 Jul 2026 11:27:53
As much as I think Jones needs to step up on the pitch, I have no idea what he's like off it. I can only speculate, but I do recall Jones being the only lad to have a go at Dacoure when Dacoure was giving it to our fans. No one else cared, maybe the lad just an emotional footballer.
I remember Richarlson having a go at young Ngumoha as well, and not one of the midfield that day went to help (Szobo, Grav, Macca), if I recall. That would never have stood under Hendo, Milner, Fab.
30 Jul 2026 12:08:12
Jones can argue all he likes, but it should be behind closed doors.
30 Jul 2026 12:35:21
My mate met him a few times and said he is a really nice guy, always round his grandad's house who lives near my mate. He always has time for people, so I will go on what someone who has met him over what people's assumptions are of him.
30 Jul 2026 12:46:59
And to think, WDW, a lot of those would be eligible for jury service.
Imagine being in the dock and your fate resting in the hands of someone who believes any old tripe he reads on a football rumours website?
"Guilty 'cos a taxi driver said so!".
30 Jul 2026 13:03:27
The "ITK" you would be referring to would most likely be myself.
The only thing I will add is that the proof is now in the pudding. Virgil is most likely fed up of clean up work.
30 Jul 2026 13:43:16
@Mbwell77, "There was little room to thread passes."
Nyoni didn't seem to have any problems.
30 Jul 2026 14:15:55
I don't know the "mechanics" or the "needling" that goes on in a dressing room, because I have never been in one. But I know about "team mechanics" in the business world. Needling is all fine and good, maybe even necessary, but you have better earned the right to do so on the field.
If Salah, Firmino, Mane, Robertson, Milner and Hendo were doing it, then my view is that they earned it. But they're all gone now. And the only people who now come to mind are VVD and Szoboszlai. If Jones wants a loud voice, fine, earn it first on the field. No problem at all.
30 Jul 2026 14:39:31
He has always had the cheeky chappie persona and not everyone likes that. He has an ego, just like a lot of footballers do. That being said, he's not as bad as people make out. As a fan of the club and being a local lad, he sometimes fails to cope with that pressure and expectations that come with that.
A lot of the issues last season stemmed from frustration. I'm not saying he's an angel but the amount of issues he has caused the club doesn't mean he's a bad person and mostly come from his lack of understanding how to communicate his feelings properly.
Another thing a lot of people have either forgotten or don't know is he suffers with mental health issues, not going to go into details about it but he was always in trouble as a kid because of it. That's not an excuse for his behaviour but it's a factor in it.
As for Virgil cleaning up VG, he needs to take a look at himself in the mirror, mate. As he is no angel either and has caused issues over the last 2 seasons but that gets brushed under the carpet because it's Virgil.
30 Jul 2026 14:55:17
Fair enough Fields, I respect your position, but ultimately what I understand of Curtis is he might not be the most respectful lad and a lot of Anfield staff would probably agree. I've not heard anything in relation to Virgil's antics, so I can't comment on that.
30 Jul 2026 15:09:34
I'm fully aware of the lack of respect part, VG. It's something he does have a problem with, tbh. I've witnessed it before. I know some staff have a problem with him because he doesn't greet them or talk to them like others do. He also can be a bit disrespectful to younger players by making them do things.
Virgil was one of the main reasons for the split in the dressing room, as he wouldn't have a bad word said about Slot. He is also known to look down on players he doesn't rate.
30 Jul 2026 15:43:14
Wait, VVD wanted all of the players to respect the manager and this is seen as a bad thing? This sounds like the sort of thing he should be doing to be honest.
{Ed001's Note - that is not what he said. You can complain about what someone is doing without it being a form of disrespect. In fact it is disrespectful not to listen to someone's complaints if they are justified.}
30 Jul 2026 15:33:06
And they get to vote in elections too @Flash.
30 Jul 2026 17:25:23
It depends what your interpretation is with Curtis. I have worked all around the country for many years, and can honestly say that if you're either from Liverpool or Glasgow, many people will find the tone aggressive when it's simply not the way. Regardless, he's still not good enough in my eyes.
29 Jul 2026 22:31:15
Next offer likely accepted for Barcola.
We're not far away as I said.
Ta.
29 Jul 2026 22:43:46
Thanks Carra, for the info.
29 Jul 2026 22:43:57
Looks like this is going to happen. Thanks a lot, Carra, really appreciate the info.
29 Jul 2026 22:45:10
Hope so. 🙏🏻 What a signing this would be. When someone (can't remember who) first mentioned Barcola about 3 or 4 months ago, I dismissed it out of hand as a totally unrealistic suggestion. Whoever that was, I apologise!
29 Jul 2026 22:53:58
Tanks, Carra.
29 Jul 2026 22:55:31
Cheers, Carra.
29 Jul 2026 23:05:40
PSG accepts a £100 million LFC offer? That's fairer compared to fees for Anderson and Rogers. The third most expensive LFC signing also takes a huge weight off Andoni and Barcola's shoulders!
If Andoni wants him, then you have to support the manager's decision, and most happily accept a new LFC player also.
Andoni has a superlative record with past signings in the transfer market at Bournemouth.
Looks like Munoz LW, Barcola RW = Salah's replacement. Best of luck to player and manager. Looks like he takes Mo's shirt number also eleven?
29 Jul 2026 23:06:23
Thanks, Cara, I can finally go to bed now.
29 Jul 2026 23:16:18
Brilliant news, Carra. Thanks.
29 Jul 2026 23:18:58
Nice one, Carra.
29 Jul 2026 23:19:38
@007, There is no way we are playing Munoz on left & Barcola on right, Munoz was signed to be used just as Jota was, Barcola will be our main left winger & we will sign another attacking player, as I've said previously, our aim has always been to sign 2 wingers, Barcola & Diomande were our targets.
29 Jul 2026 23:27:06
Thanks for the info mate.
30 Jul 2026 00:39:18
Big signing. Love it.
30 Jul 2026 00:54:21
Exciting signing if we complete it, to add to Munoz. Flexible RB/RCB and a ball winning midfielder next please.
30 Jul 2026 01:25:27
Oh yes. Cracking player.
30 Jul 2026 01:50:01
Mark my words, it's going to be a s*** show. The guy only knows how to run and score easy goals. I wonder why this is not obvious for the scouts and others in favor of this move. What is the desperation about?
30 Jul 2026 01:58:06
Waste of money, there's a reason PSG are letting him go. Zero end product.
30 Jul 2026 02:04:22
Foreveryoung, so he just fluked his way to 42G/A in 24/25?
30 Jul 2026 04:46:32
Sometimes you don't value what you have until it's gone. What do Kerkez, Ekitike, Wirtz, Isak and Barcola have in common?
30 Jul 2026 05:38:22
Just runs and scores easy goals - brilliant, all I need. Mane did that as well.
29 Jul 2026 23:18:10
Not that it matters just out of curiosity of course but is Barcola a Iraola signing or was he flagged a while back?
30 Jul 2026 06:17:39
@Kaka, calm down, man, he's nowhere near as bad as you make him out to be. Talented prospect, has the skills and will be a good fit, I hope.
30 Jul 2026 06:51:39
I'm more concerned about the lack of midfield and defensive reinforcements being signed, the manager using Dom as a central defender is a worrying sight.
30 Jul 2026 07:27:37
@kjh2477, Mane had strength, finishing, dribbling and pace, whereas Barcola is just pace. He will have a hard time in PL. Also, I don't understand the desperation with LFC with this signing. It would have made more sense if Gakpo would have left, but with the current depth in LW, this is an absolutely dumb move.
30 Jul 2026 07:33:27
Cheers, Carra, let's hope this gets resolved over the next few days. 🤞🏻🤞🏻
30 Jul 2026 07:36:34
See the trolls are out in force...
30 Jul 2026 07:47:26
I like what I see in Barcola. He's in the French WC team for a reason. There were some comments about him only knowing how to run and score easy goals. What's the problem with that? As long as he can run and score easy goals day in, day out, he will be an instant hit.
Also, we don't know what Iraola can do with him yet. Who knows, he can transform to become one of our best LW? Nobody really wanted Salah when he was at Roma, we kinda got him without much of a challenge. Who would have thought that he would become one of our best?
30 Jul 2026 07:52:01
So, using the trolls theory, because Bellingham can't even make the PSG squad, he only plays for Real Madrid, who are not European Champions. Then, if we signed him, we would be getting an inferior player!
So, the only signings we should make should be PSG first team starters.
If Barcola played 90 mins every game this season, would he be acceptable to the trolls to buy next summer?
I for one will be over the moon when we get Barcola over the line, great player & I'm backing him to be a big part of us winning trophies over the next 7 years.
30 Jul 2026 08:05:44
Just need that right winger now. As Carragher said in his latest interview, Barcola does not play on the right. Nor do any of the other left wingers. We are spending 100m on a left sided player (if it completes) when we have another 3 as backup. (There is no certainty Gapko will leave)
It's a vain, conspicuous consumption, and one we will come to regret if we don't get a right sided winger.
I've been consistent in my analysis since the beginning. This only makes sense if Diomande, or a player of his ilk, signs.
So because I trust the process, and the information I receive from my mate Dave, I am still certain we will still sign Diomande.
30 Jul 2026 08:08:39
Foreveryoung, Kaka, thanks for taking time out of your busy scouting for LFC, we really appreciate it.
30 Jul 2026 08:21:50
Cheers Carra, looks like things are starting to move now.
30 Jul 2026 08:41:50
AI is impressed by Nyoni, and so I don't think we will be in for a DM. RB/RCB and a RW, and that's job done in this window.
30 Jul 2026 08:48:44
John Barnes is God - completely agree about the left wing.
If we complete the Barcola transfer then we will have spent circa £150/160mil on left sided attackers, while our right side has a gaping hole; all while we have 2 left sided attackers already in the squad.
It would be bonkers to spend £100+mil on a left sided attacker only to mainly use him on the other side.
Not sure about Diomande getting done, hope so, or at least an actual right sided attacker.
30 Jul 2026 08:49:02
Barcola made a name for himself at Lyon, playing RW, only moved to the left at PSG. He is very capable.
30 Jul 2026 09:27:54
Barcola played (not started) a grand total of 8 games on the right wing last season. 31 games left wing.
The season before 8 games from the right, 44 games from the left.
Season before that 8 games from the right, 27 games from the left.
These are appearances, not starts.
It's because of these performances over the last few years that we are willing to pay £100mil for him, not what he did as a teenager when at his previous club.
30 Jul 2026 10:18:34
Maybe Rayan is in the pipeline, we just don't know about it yet!!
They can see what we all can see, so must have a plan for right side.
Fingers crossed.
Ps, just seen this about Cityh's Savi wanting a move???
Thoughts..
30 Jul 2026 10:30:06
I get that Ginger, but even if he doesn't play on the right, he will certainly have the LW down, leaving Gakpo as third striker and Munoz as a versatile forward, not just a LW. Rio is trying to shift to the right and we probably need Rayan, whose release clause is in 2027.
30 Jul 2026 11:04:19
Blessed to have so many clairvoyants frequenting the site, just wish the club would listen instead of making such bad recruitment mistakes all the time.
30 Jul 2026 11:09:05
Yes, you spend £100+mil on a left sided attacker to play him in his best position. Presumably he will be our main left sided attacker.
Gakpo has shown, under 2 managers now, that playing as CF isn't really for him. I would not be surprised if he was sold in order to recoup some funds, and because we are now over stocked in left sided attack.
Rio is a child who still needs time and room to develop.
Munoz has 1 top tier season under his belt, playing mostly as a left sided attacker.
I actually think he may turn out to be more versatile than Barcola, but he's still very inexperienced.
Rayan's buy out clause doesn't activate under 2027.
Which brings us back to the original issue, we have no actual right sided attacker.
30 Jul 2026 18:18:41
Suckin on diesel now folks, cheers Robbo.
29 Jul 2026 21:42:06
Hi all,
May I get everybody distracted from Barcola with a story worth sharing?
Daniel Svensson is getting a move from Dortmund to Liverpool. He's the next in line after we sign the Salah replacement. The Swede is very keen to join. Good competition for Kerkez and cover CM in the double pivot formation. I assume Kostas is getting options with more minutes elsewhere.
29 Jul 2026 22:02:21
This is good news, so that's two positions covered and we just need someone who can operate in the defensive right positions, maybe a hybrid of RB/RCB, someone like Geertruda or Illaryna.
29 Jul 2026 22:09:05
I signed him on a Liverpool FIFA career mode and he ended up 89 rated, and that's all I need to know. Get him in immediately.
29 Jul 2026 22:12:40
Cheers, Stan. That's an interesting development.
29 Jul 2026 22:51:32
@StanUA, who will be our Salah replacement?
29 Jul 2026 23:02:10
Svensson is a decent player, to be fair. He played Left Wing Back when I saw him last season against Man City, but he was Dortmund's best player and kept Savinho very quiet. I don't actually recall him playing for Sweden at the World Cup when I watched them though.
Thanks for sharing, Stan.
29 Jul 2026 23:55:11
Not saying it won't happen, but it just makes no sense. Much more pressing positions to fill than back up LB.
30 Jul 2026 00:04:56
Thought you said Camara and El Mala were set to sign within 5 days, few weeks back.
30 Jul 2026 00:18:51
He's not just back up left back. He can play left back, but he can also play DM.
It would be a good signing.
Add in Barcola and Kunde and we're ready to go. 👍
30 Jul 2026 05:58:58
Google says Svensson has 3 WC appearances.
30 Jul 2026 06:23:22
It seems like we will do everything but sign a RB and CB and DM.
30 Jul 2026 08:26:35
Thirst is this insider information? Or are you mystic?
The manager has said that rb or a cb/ rb and wants other additions so let's wait and see
29 Jul 2026 18:35:40
Any truth in the rumours around us liking to sign Fernandez-Pardo?
Saw something a while back.
29 Jul 2026 19:09:16
I think he will go to Chelsea.
29 Jul 2026 19:22:22
More chance of us buying a Teddy Pardo CD player...
29 Jul 2026 20:18:52
I beg your Pardo?
29 Jul 2026 17:50:40
Hi Lads. Hope you’re having a great summer and more importantly, keeping your windows clean.
I cheekily asked my footy // tech business mate some Liverpool transfer Qs. I don’t like to hound him but he’s normally spot on, copy and paste below.
“No worries it’s 24 or 25. LFC - yes Barcola done. Similar money to Isak/Wirtz not 140+. Might take a while. Mid-late Aug. I don’t know about Gakpo. Jones to stay.
No to Wharton. Interest in Kounde and Ferran Torres. Maybe we can sing Fernando’s song again! Catch you soon mate”.
Our firm have also been given the green light on a new transfers house and it’s a big one so I reckon that’s BB 🇫🇷 👍 … I’ve not been assigned though. Gutted.
We need a busy few weeks here! Strapping in.
PS. I take it we’re all Germany fans now too!
Big season coming for the Reds.
CSW.
29 Jul 2026 18:25:29
Love these. Pure old school. For some reason, I visualise your mate as Robin Askwith.
29 Jul 2026 18:25:54
Nice one, cheers CSW. Hope you are well, mate.
29 Jul 2026 18:31:29
SlotworkOrange vibes. I love it.
29 Jul 2026 18:50:54
Barcola LW/ST/RW
Kounde RB/CB
Ferran Torres RW/AM/LW
Love it!
29 Jul 2026 23:10:41
I like the idea of Ferran Torres yanno.
Him and Kounde could round off a slow but decent window, although I would still love to swap Jones and Macca for Sadiki and another.
