My question for everyone just a curiosity with regards Gini, if we sold Keita for money and got a cheap loan deal for Wijnaldum for the year, would you take that? Just interested to read your thoughts I do not believe it is happening.

1.) 20 Jun 2022 13:13:41
No. Wij went missing a lot no point time to look to younger squad players and see if they can step up. Could save ourselves a lot of money.

2.) 20 Jun 2022 13:14:18
I wouldn't take him back. Prefer to look forward, while acknowledging whatever he has done for the club.

3.) 20 Jun 2022 13:35:48
No definitely not for me. Personally I thought gini was a v good player for us but that time is gone. we not need to look to younger midfielder.

4.) 20 Jun 2022 13:37:48
I agree with Jordz here, this would be a bit of a kick in the teeth for the youngsters. Jones needs game time, this could be a message for him (and others) to start looking for aa new club.

5.) 20 Jun 2022 14:41:10
Carlos soler from Valencia available on relative cheap terms as they need to finance the loan.

{Ed002's Note - €50M is not relatively cheap, particularly for a player the club has no interest in.}

6.) 20 Jun 2022 15:11:26
Klopp doesn't do reunions, and I'm sure he's said as much in the past.

I'd much rather give game time to Elliot, Jones and Calvalho.

If Naby leaves, that's the only time I could see us dipping into the market again, and I'm sure it won't be for Gini, but a younger midfielder who's already on a list at Liverpool somewhere.

If I could channel my inner Ed002, I would imagine this paper talk is originating from his agent who is angling to get him gametime.

7.) 20 Jun 2022 19:14:38
I would have Gini over Keita anyday of the week but I also prefer to look forward rather than go backwards. Both Keita and now and Hypothertically Wini back would block Jones, Elliot and Carvalho and also potentially Morton so a definitely no for me.

8.) 20 Jun 2022 20:19:21
Not for me I’d rather share the playing time between Jones, Elliot and Carvallho.

{Ed0666's Note - I truly believe we need a Graeme souness type midfielder hence the reason why we went for Tchouameni. Not addressing this is gonna cost us dearly. You can’t expect too much from Carvalho and Elliot is coming back from injury and who knows if he’ll get back to the form he showed pre injury and same goes for The Ox. I’m wondering if we spent the Tchouameni money on Nunez?

9.) 20 Jun 2022 23:03:42
I'm all for replacing Keita, but, replacing him back with "The Ghost"?

No thanks.

10.) 21 Jun 2022 03:30:39
A midfield of Jones, Elliott and Carvalho doesn’t cut it for me. Jones is inconsistent, Elliott is still coming back from injury and Carvalho is unproven in the PL. there's no real experience in that midfield and i imagine they would get slaughtered by the likes of City or Real Madrid.
Thats not to say individually they can't make a regular midfield slot but playing all three together would be suicidal.

11.) 22 Jun 2022 08:26:18
Elliot came back from injury around Christmas I think, klopps left him out most of season to make sure he doesn't get injured. He'll be back fully fit after a good pre season. I can see him starting with thiago and fab. We definitely need another midfielder though.

14 Apr 2015 23:03:33
Anyone interested in Coutinho right now Eds? With his superb individual performances this season I wouldn't be a surprise to see teams better than us in the CL chasing him. I am worried they could easily turn his head, If he had the players of his quality around him he could achieve totals worthy of some of the all time greats really. If a team comes in for him I would doubt our ability to convince him this is the right place.

{Ed002's Note - Not that I am aware.}

can we do a poll sell or keep firmino, be interesting to see. I vote keep!

{Ed025's Note - I vote keep…but I’m an evertonian ?..

1.) 25 Jul 2022 18:08:23
Still head and shoulders above every Everton player you currently have eds! Another relegation scrap ahead! Lol.

{Ed025's Note - I wish I could argue with you Marty. He would fit In well at goodison mate…with all the other lazy Sods ..

2.) 25 Jul 2022 18:13:35
Keep
Vital experience and a player who gives so much to the team.

{Ed025's Note - he’s as useful as an ashtray on a motorbike Gaz..

3.) 25 Jul 2022 18:16:35
Our 5th choice forward scored as many as Richarlison last season. ?‍♂️.

{Ed025's Note - that’s because you are a very good team IR..

4.) 25 Jul 2022 18:19:49
I’m happy either way, he hasn’t hit the form he had in the 2018/ 2019 season or been close to it. However he is a good player. He’s also the wrong side of 30 now so if we can get a decent fee I’d be tempted. If sooner see the likes of ox, kieta etc. move on first though.

5.) 25 Jul 2022 18:23:16
25 of course is famously accurate when it comes to assessing Liverpool players.

How's Fabinho, the lemon, doing?

{Ed025's Note - I have made the odd mistake SR and fab was one of them. But I have been tellin you about the invisible man (Bobby) for 3 years mate. I know I’m not perfect… but I’m damn close.. ?

6.) 25 Jul 2022 18:24:19
Keep all day, Bobby is a integral part of what makes us tick, sure he doesn't get you 20 goals a season but his link up play with midfield and the forward line, his ability to tackle and win the ball back, to create space for salah and Mane now Diaz or Darwin is unquestionable. He works harder than any other CF that I've know in the premiership over the last 7 yrs. Ever hear the saying money isn't everything sure €20 million for a 30 something in the final year of his contract is a no brained in most cases but not this time plus getting rid of 2 of your front 3 in one season and try to keep the highest standards up is extremely difficult even for someone a special as Klopp so keep Bobby for at least another year, extend his contract and if he has a injury free season and plays like we know he can we'd easily get €20 million for him next summer.

YNWA JFT97.

{Ed025's Note - what an absolute crock zippy. He’s a show pony and has been for over 3 years. The odd flick and an infectious smile is what he offers nowadays mate. Take off the red specs my friend..

7.) 25 Jul 2022 18:28:56
Ed025, I always took you as a knowledgeable bloke, but I just don't get your views on Bobby. Particularly comparing him to your lazy sods (your words) . He presses so well and although he's lost a bit of pace (never the quickest) he's still a very good footballer. His enthusiasm and selflessness is rare thing in top flight footy nowadays and I'd be very happy for him to finish his career with us, if he wishes to.

{Ed025's Note - it’s ok to have the odd passenger burkey…but not when you are challenging for the title mate. Think with your head not your heart mate and put him out to graze..

8.) 25 Jul 2022 18:42:02
For me I believed for the last couple of seasons Bobbys form had dropped off from what it had been and personally I thought he needed replacing in the starting front 3.

Last season he was replaced by Jota and then Mane when Diaz came in and it didn’t effect us winning games or scoring goals like many believed it would.

But for me having Bobby as 4th or 5th choice forward is absolutely brilliant and shows how strong we are. Mino and Origi had great moments for us but Bobby in that role is a far better player because he will not only give his all coming off the bench but he will give Klopp far more emphasis by to also start him in games and bring him off the bench far earlier than the other 2.

Plus he gives us another dimension when coming on.

For me it’s a simple answer and that answer is to keep. Hopefully he has an injury free year and also gets to go to the World Cup.

What Bobby gives to the cause he deserves everything back. And saying that if he’s gone to Klopp and has said he wants to leave for more football to go to the World Cup then I honestly believe Klopp holds him that high of a regard as a person he will grant him that wish.

9.) 25 Jul 2022 19:09:37
Bobby is Mr Liverpool.
(whilst Ed025 is Mr Dizzy lol)

{Ed025's Note - I’m mr honest juicer.. ?

10.) 25 Jul 2022 19:29:26
I love Bobby! Ed25. how long you giving fat Frank b4 he gets sacked?

{Ed025's Note - it will depend on the first 10 games marty..

11.) 25 Jul 2022 19:33:59
Ed025 player knowledge makes me laugh am still laughing at him saying Lucas Digne is better than Robertson. I don’t know about red tinted Glasses his bitter blue ones don’t let no light through.
Enjoy the championship in the new ground Ed.

{Ed025's Note - it’s all about opinions grino. Someone has to keep you big headed lot in Check because you all think your whole squad is world class…. My arse. And I’m just the very man to do that mate..

12.) 25 Jul 2022 19:46:53
Show pony for the last 3 yrs really ed025 ah here mate you make him out as you said it to be in the same league as the lazy sods you have stealing a wage at Goodison which he sure isn't, you have your opinion mate and I have mine ok I might have painted him up to be a bit better than he has been lately but I guarantee you'd happily have him in your team than some of the crap you have stealing a wage at the moment either way this is only harmless banter at the end of the day and we're all right in our own eyes but for me Bobby stays and gets a Derby goal just to widen the white cheesy smile on his face.

{Ed025's Note - it is all about banter zippy. I happen to like the guy actually mate. I just don’t think he’s a very good footballer. I would go for a pint with him but he’s not getting in my 5-a-side team if you know what I mean..

13.) 25 Jul 2022 20:47:17
Sell"IF"his sale allows us to get a younger attacker who actually scores goals! obviously if no one else was to come in keep Bobby.

14.) 25 Jul 2022 21:22:58
Hopefully Bobby signs new contract and we keep him. Gives us something different although the amount of injuries he picking up now is a worry. sold mane this summer who was 1 of our stalwarts, would prefer not too lose 2 in the 1 window.

15.) 25 Jul 2022 22:25:10
We are seeing a new squad forming at the minute, I think Bobby is worth keeping for his experience alone. Also with such a Portuguese speaking squad I think Bobby could help to keep team morale up.

I don’t fully agree with Ed on this one but I do try ink bobbys time at the top level is over. his legs aren’t what they used to be and he has to expect less minutes. If he wants to leave and get more minutes elsewhere I respect that, he’s been a fantastic servant to the club and I wish him well!

But I really hope he stays and accepts a role of mentor for younger players and an impact player when needed. Origi has shown us you don’t need to play many minutes to make a big impact for the club!

16.) 25 Jul 2022 22:47:29
I’m with Ed025 on this. When he was linking the play and pressing none stop plus banging in 27 goals a season I thought he was the best in world at what he does. Then the goals dried up and I defended him for his link up play. Now that practically gone too. Don’t get me wrong we could do worse for a 3rd choice CF if he wants to take a pay cut, but otherwise for me he’s be gone. Always be grateful, but if you want to stay at or even near the top there is no room for sentiment.

17.) 25 Jul 2022 22:53:13
The problem they have with firmino like others is the 1 year left on his contract. If they were to cash in and spend the money on a proven midfielder say then that would be fine. The problem with keeping him while he runs his contract down is that next summer we would likely lose firmino, Keita, ox and Milner all in one go. I’m not saying these are first eleven losses but even so losing all 4 and receiving no fee for any is not great when needing to refresh multiple positions. That’s why I believe if he doesn’t extend before the new season they will cash in. Still a decent player but 20 million is 20 million.

18.) 25 Jul 2022 23:10:54
I love Bobby. But sell. He gets more playing time with new club, he's earned that, we get 20 mill to reinvest. Win win.

{Ed0666's Note - I’d sell Bobby in a second. He’s past his prime and is getting injury prone. But that doesn't detract from the fact the man is a legit LFC legend on and off the pitch and the crazy bastard has been an integral part of our success over the last few years. I’ll say it again and again. There needs to be a statue of Mo, Sadio & Bobby in Anfield.

19.) 25 Jul 2022 23:39:22
Keep for me. but 25 mil plus would be tempting to sell.
Oh Bobby La….

20.) 25 Jul 2022 23:35:13
You can’t possibly compare what Mane and Bobby have done done for the club. One was a big game player who was instrumental in us winning the PL and champions league, the other had one good season 5 years ago and has not earned his massive wages since.
I would keep Bobby as 5th choice if we can’t get a younger replacement. As someone mentioned above as 5th choice he is quality option but he ain’t no Mane.

21.) 26 Jul 2022 07:22:30
Some boss posts on here and lots of valid points on both the sell and keep sides but if you look at what the squad lacks and we need we need a player to play in salahs position so we can rest salah and not run him in to the ground then slate him that he’s past it when he’s not scored in 2/ 3 games . I’m guessing bobby leaves on a free next year ( well deserved IMO) and we go after a right sided left footer next year like a Bowen or potentially a saka ( depending on contract situation)

22.) 26 Jul 2022 10:02:36
What has speaking Portuguese got to do with anything? The only others who do are Becker, Fabinho and Thiago. I presume Carvalho does too, but he's a fluent English speaker as is Thiago and I suspect the club want everyone to communicate in English as much as possible.

23.) 26 Jul 2022 10:04:08
I'd sell him but let him go on a free. to Everton.

{Ed025's Note - we don’t want him rigsby. We have got dele Alli mate ?..

24.) 26 Jul 2022 15:59:26
Guys, don't let Ed25 fool you about Bobbie. He only cracks jokes about him to whind people up on here. He actually rates him. In the last podcast I listened to last week with him and Ed01, he had very lovely things to say about him and how great he has been for us. Don't let Ed25 trigger you. He loves Bobbie.

{Ed025's Note - I like him as a person oli but as a footballer he’s gash mate..

25.) 27 Jul 2022 11:15:31
ED25, that may be true BUT you were raving about his actual football ability and how great he has been for us as a player, not for his character nor his likeability. I know it's tough to admit BUT I was actually listening to you so either you were drank some truth serum and you gave your true opinions about Bobbie as a player OR you were not in control of your words. Either way, you don't come out on top here, lol. Peace.

{Ed025's Note - I think you may be getting me mixed up with someone else oli mate. I always tell the truth and have not rated Bobby for 3 years. He’s the invisible man who spends most of his time on the pitch hiding and chipping in with the odd flick here and there. Just my opinion of course my friend.. peace ..

06 Jun 2022 07:01:48
Monday morning, the thought of watching Mane tear it up in the CL, that massive grin on his face, with somebody elses kit. It’s breaking my heart 🙁😭.

1.) 06 Jun 2022 08:07:32
That’s life. Get used to it.

2.) 06 Jun 2022 08:17:05
Must have missed him tearing it up in the final.

3.) 06 Jun 2022 08:25:13
Ultimately, as Ed002 always says, the players are transient employees, so him going and playing for someone else is a consequence of that relationship.

To be honest, I’m fine with him and Salah going as long as we get some money in and we bring someone else in to replace their goals that we will miss.

4.) 06 Jun 2022 08:31:05
14 goals in the last 4 champions league campaigns. not exactly ripping the competition a new one, we can replace Manê's output from the last 2 seasons (being mostly average last two seasons), Salah will be much harder to eventually replace.

5.) 06 Jun 2022 08:33:07
Old news. He’s gone. Bridges burnt. Next baller on way.

6.) 06 Jun 2022 11:07:29
Watch Diaz doing the bizz next season.

7.) 06 Jun 2022 13:02:58
We need new blood. Mane has been great for us and we have been good this season, but 0 goals in 3 cup finals and not beating any of the other top 4 is ringing alarm bells for me. Not saying it’s entirely his or even Salah’s fault, it’s a collective endeavour, but we do need a refresh. Their carry on in interviews hasn’t been acceptable either. Bring in some young hungry lads who actually want to be here instead.

8.) 06 Jun 2022 16:30:40
AW, the refresh or fresh blood you are screaming about has already been in motion since the summer of 2020. If you looked hard enuff, you would see it and it is actually STILL ongoing. Chill out and pay attention.

9.) 06 Jun 2022 19:32:40
Every great team has a time when their top players get to an age that means it is good business to move them on to receive a fee. LFC did it on many occasion man united did it on many occasions Arsenal did it to and Man City will do it when their top players get to a certain age it is all part of football.

The problem is bringing in the right replacements that fit in to the team pattern, the clubs ethos, the other players, the managers ideas . All the superstar names being mentioned may not fill all of the above I have mentioned I have full confidence in Liverpool FC to bring in the staff needed as they did many times before.

28 Apr 2022 00:08:59
Cant believe they are speaking of the very unlikely quadruple as if we have already won the fa cup final and as if we aren't second in the league hoping for someone else to fail, its truly ridiculous im not even being dramatic. its as if they are saying its some kind of failure if we don't do it! Myself i am truly convinced City won't drop any more points, i have made peace with that. Two more trophies would be a hugely succesful season for sure.

1.) 28 Apr 2022 03:25:52
I agree about City not dropping any more points in the league this season. We should just focus on winning the UCL and FA Cup this season. Them two and the League Cup is the best season the club will have had (if it happens) in the premier league era and we should be grateful we are getting to witness it.

{Ed0666's Note - are you kidding me? We go gung ho for everything mate.

2.) 28 Apr 2022 06:15:54
Of course we have to go for it. And there’s nothing wrong with being overly positive about it. Realistically we have more chance of winning the Fa cup and CL but to win both them we will play far tougher opposition than we have remaining in the league which is a little harder to win.

It’s like setting two goals where one is easier to a achieve but harder to do and the other is harder to do but easier to achieve. How do you make sense of that 🤷🏻‍♂️

Theres a thin line between over confidence and arrogance and whilst a lot of fans skate very close to that line it doesn’t matter because the manager and players don’t.

What an amazing season we are having and what an amazing manager and squad of players we have.

3.) 28 Apr 2022 07:12:59
Anything can happen, injuries (look at the difference for us as an example) red cards, dodgy decisions, or a lucky deflection.

I still think both of us could drop points and when there is only 1 point in it you can't jack it in.

If city drop no further points then good luck to them they would of deserved it but I still think they are due a bit of bad luck for the Rodri one.

But i agree the talk of the quad is annoying me as the destiny of the league isn't in our hands, yet.

4.) 28 Apr 2022 07:57:38
On the flip side, we could easily end up with a single league cup this season. Game by game and enjoy the ride.

5.) 28 Apr 2022 09:28:27
We have a maximum of 7 games left. Let’s go for it!

6.) 28 Apr 2022 10:04:55
At this stage, there is no option but to just go for everything in front of you. I get the sense that unlike us fans these lads are not stressed at all - Jurgen has them enjoying themselves along the way.

Quick turnaround for an awkward Sat morning Newcastle game.

Keep going.

7.) 28 Apr 2022 12:14:42
@Longthing, being nit picky but it’s a maximum of 8 games mate - 5 in the PL, 2 in the CL and the FA Cup Final.

8.) 28 Apr 2022 12:31:14
Dream Big. Play Big. Win Big. That's the only way to dream, play and win, IMO.

9.) 28 Apr 2022 12:37:24
I still think City will drop points and we will win the league.

10.) 28 Apr 2022 14:59:32
That's the spirit, Stone.

06 Feb 2022 15:57:43
adama traore just bagged an assist already, he just needed one extra day at “the famed ‘la masia’” to get the jist of this game. wjat might have been….

1.) 06 Feb 2022 16:03:39
#FSGout

Can't believe we let him get away!

2.) 06 Feb 2022 16:30:04
Who do I want on my team. An absolute baller in Diaz or an NFL Linebacker masquerading as a footballer? Oh, I’m so turn 🙄🙄.

3.) 06 Feb 2022 16:30:16
Seriously. What were Edwards and Ward thinking? Disgraceful. Didn't try for Aubameyang either.

4.) 06 Feb 2022 16:58:27
Not sure why Traore gets so much hate on here considering his only crime is being linked to us.

All the best to the lad in Spain I say. That is unless he comes up against us next season in the CL if Barcelona even get there.

Rumour mill is he turned down 120k a week at Spurs to take 15k a week at Barca. If true fair play to the lad.

Everyone who says he isn’t a footballer I bet 99.9% of those have never played a higher standard than him.

5.) 06 Feb 2022 18:26:56
JK if we start operating on a system of not being able to say anything critical about a footballer who's played at a higher level than us then we have to stop talking about footballers on here altogether. Don't think there are many pros of any level here, much less guys who played in the top flight.

6.) 06 Feb 2022 18:44:18
SR personally I believe there’s a difference between being critical of a players performance and saying someone isn’t an actual footballer.

7.) 06 Feb 2022 18:46:19
I really like Traore and I think I’m in the minority thinking he would be dynamite in our team. You can criticise his end product throughout his career but he’s never had players of the quality of Salah, Mane, Bobby making runs for him.
With his power and pace pulling defenders about think of the space that would leave for our supremely talented attackers.
I’d have taken him all day long.

8.) 06 Feb 2022 22:52:45
@JK23 - spot on, there’s a difference between constructive criticism and basically calling people names because they don’t meet a poster’s ( unspecified ) idea of football perfection.

09 Dec 2021 20:24:51
Does anyone have any kind of detail into what happened to Curtis Jones? Very curious situation. 🤔.

{Ed0666's Note - yep klopp said it’s an eye injury which they have to be careful with. We all know what happened to Sissoko when he injured his eye which was a tragedy. I’m not saying this is to that extent but you can appreciate the caution

1.) 09 Dec 2021 21:42:26
Update on his eyes. They have been crying with laughter since seeing Coutinho end up in the Europa League.

2.) 09 Dec 2021 21:26:59
Sorry but what happened with sissoko?

{Ed0666's Note - he suffered an eye injury mate and wasn’t the same when he came back. Which has always been such a blow to me as a Liverpool fan as he really had the potential to be world class. Such a shame for the lad as he was a great guy also.

3.) 10 Dec 2021 07:56:56
Momo Sissoko by the way! Not any of the other pretenders.

4.) 10 Dec 2021 08:47:06
I had his name on white and green top.

5.) 10 Dec 2021 09:24:56
I believe Curtis had a finger in the eye in training, I know some people have said oh its only a finger in the eye you'll be fine the feeling of having your cornea scratched is terrible and depending on the severity it does bother your vision for a while.

6.) 10 Dec 2021 11:46:01
Also depends where the finger had been previously.

7.) 10 Dec 2021 13:40:14
Thankfully it wasn’t a utd players finger, we all know where they have those shoved up the past while.

Only thinking squad option, tidy player with plenty of potential and youd think quite cheap, Ed2 has told us a few times that Tsimikas won't last forever as our backup so would be a fine addition in my opinion. If you haven’t watched so much of him take a little look. Since I made that post I also have seen a few rumours about Ait-nouri (sp sorry if wrong) who I do also like. Neither would spell the end for Chambers I don’t think.

i just can't imagine salah not wanting to play one last season in the champions league. he's got another 2 in the prem left in him at the very least, would be a huge shame to go, saudi league won't be going anywhere or the money.

I know it really seems like Bellingham isn't all about money, but he doesn't decide his own transfer fee. Even if he wants to join we still won't pay anything like what Real Madrid will. Would be wise to prepare yourself for us not getting him. We need more than one new signing.

The whole premise of VAR was supposed to be helping clear and onvious errors and as has been stated here im sure numerous times, if you have to slow down a replay and watch it for over 1 minute then it can't be clear and obvious. i've always had a problem with the ridiculous precision of offside lines too because if they are going to be that arsey on the line drawing then they need to give equal attention that the frame they use is also exactly when the ball was played, which is probably even more difficult. tldr football was 1000x more enjoyable before VAR.

25 should be the new young benchmark for me. The obession with signing players who are good when they are still little kids is really annoying look how many of the players got given too much at 19-20 and then stop trying and/ or are given way too many minutes when they are still developing physically and therefore suffer multiple injuries that ruin their career before physical peak. The real top top proffessionals in the modern day can be playing till 36-37 realistically. Not exactly what OP was getting at and sure we all still love an exciting young player and if they too have the right guidance and are looked after properly then its all good but I don't know it just entered my mind so wanted to post it. As a side note I work in an industry where the company hires a new wave of 16 year olds every year for casual work and these kids are getting crazier and more immature every single time.

Yeah avoidable goals nothing spectacular except the first one, you can of course defend that better but still the finish is inch perfect. The real telling difference was how both teams played without the ball, we ran after it like headless schoolkids, they never once looked like they were chasing after it, just a good shape and effectively timed pressing.

Back in 2006 the lfc website had an option to email individual players. 10 year old me chose Xabi Alonso as my earpiece to tell Rafa to sign Milner and Downing. can't believe i heard nothing back.
