They must of got an overdraft only £12 million in the account yesterday. ????.

Gilldol

1.) 01 Jul 2023 11:22:19
Didn’t we borrow the money from a third party?

2.) 02 Jul 2023 08:31:09
WDW, from the same guys we sold Barca’s Coutinho payment plan to?

We have a lovely new stand.

Gilldol

1.) 17 Jun 2023 18:50:50
And still nowhere near big enough for fans to get tickets.

2.) 17 Jun 2023 19:50:22
Doesn’t help that 40% of the uplift is going to be corporate tickets.

3.) 17 Jun 2023 21:14:17
There's plenty of work to be done on the extension yet. And the pitch has gone brown too.
There's daily footage of the work being done on YouTube at the moment, fascinating stuff to see just how much is going on. How they keep it all coordinated is beyond me.

4.) 18 Jun 2023 09:06:14
I mean no stadium that would make financial sense to build would likely ever have enough seats for the demand. That’s just an issue we will always have to live with.

As for the corporate seats - unfortunately that’s just the way of the world.

FSG will always get stick, rightly or wrongly, for whatever they do but I don’t think any arguement can be had in the way they have redeveloped Anfield. Both redeveloped stands look fantastic.

5.) 18 Jun 2023 09:10:41
On the ticket front it’s almost impossible or unaffordable. Looked at hospitality for Brentford or Forest this season and they start at £426 a ticket. Obscene money.

6.) 18 Jun 2023 10:48:51
Spot on, Waqqas. FSG will never catch a break regardless of what they do or don’t do so It is what it is.

As for ticket availability and prices, Ticket prices is a huge problem all over the PL, same with how much these jersey tops cost every season and the consistent increases on both fronts. Football has long become a sport for the more comfortable in society at this point. Sad.

7.) 18 Jun 2023 11:32:24
Hospitality is a joke. I use a tout now if can't get a ticket and is much cheaper but still expensive. £140 quid for Bournemouth game.

{Ed025's Note - its scandalous marty..

8.) 18 Jun 2023 14:28:15
Infrastructure doesn’t come under FFP to be fair, i think they could have paid for it themselves and we could have put the money into a team that badly needed it. We neglected on the field issues to increase the value of the club for when they look to sell it without it costing them anything.

9.) 18 Jun 2023 20:14:00
OneKiss, we were very successful WHILE the infrastructure was being built so the idea that we neglected the on pitch stuff for the off pitch stuff is not true by any streatch so the revisional history in a bid to give the owners stick, needs to take a year off.

As for them being able to pay things off themselves, who says that the funds would automatically have gone to the squad in terms of transfers? You do know that transfers are not the be all and end all and that those funds could have gone to say, raising the wage bill of the squad perhaps or strengthening the medical team or the scouting team etc.

Even Klopp said to Peter Crouch that the biggest diif. btw BVB and LFC was that he could keep his best players unlike at BVB. You cannot just make such binary assertions on a nuanced topic like this, IMO.

So who do we want in midfield alongside TAA next season? I'll be baffled if he's not there next season.

Gilldol

1.) 16 May 2023 09:50:46
I used to think All we needed was Jude and he would add years to Hendo/ Fab/ Thiago. I was wrong, now we just need Trent
?

I really like how our midfield is evolving with the young blood coming through. Elliot, Jones, Trent, Bacjetic. The succession planning had been well thought through.

2.) 16 May 2023 10:02:38
I think Klopp has recently came out and said that TAA would continue to play as an inverted full-back. So he would most likely not be starting in midfield next season too.

3.) 16 May 2023 10:12:31
You only have to listen to the way the players and manager speak about these current tactics to know we're going to try and make it work long term.

Jones and Trent did the interview after the game and you could just sense they were loving it and thought it was here to stay. Trent mentioned the 5 and 5 concept. Him stepping in alongside Fabinho and Robbo sitting in a back 3, gives us 5 up and 5 back. That feeedom is getting the best out of Jones and Trent's getting to fully showcase his passing range.

It's going nowhere in my opinion.

4.) 16 May 2023 10:33:46
We are learning a new system and it’s really starting to click. Why on earth would we change that now?

We will continue with Trent at RB and coming inside when in possession. I think it gives him space to operate and with each game that goes by we look less and less vulnerable in the RB area.

If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

5.) 16 May 2023 10:55:55
So TAA moves into the quarter-back role alongside Fabinho and then switches back to wing-back, at different moments of the game?

6.) 16 May 2023 12:34:53
Faithinworks, who knew right? Lol. It does seem they are going to go with this system at least into preseason to fully work on it. I have my reservations but in the end, I just want us to go back to the way we were playing as in, the high press and remaining compact out of possession and no longer having a soft underbelly, which I think Klopp has reverted back to. Truly interesting times going into preseason, for sure.

7.) 16 May 2023 13:11:06
The stand out difference for me is Jones in this new system. If he carries on improving at this rate that will be 1 less midfielder we need to sign. He has got to be given a run next season from the off. See if he can maintain.

8.) 16 May 2023 13:56:46
I must admit I had my reservations about the new setup but the clean sheets do not lie.

And before anyone posts about it was only Leicester/ Brentford/ Fulham etc, these were the calibre of teams we were losing to earlier in the season.

9.) 16 May 2023 14:58:55
Indeed, StEtienne. We will have to see how things shake out in preseason, IMO.

10.) 16 May 2023 17:56:24
If it's a formation with 3 midfielders then I would go for Fabinho/ Bajcetic, Mac Allister and Thuram as the starters.

If we're playing 4 midfielders then just TAA to those 3.

11.) 16 May 2023 20:28:12
Camavinga, Bellingham and Trent ?.

Very impressed with the new home kit. Best one from Nike so far.

Gilldol

1.) 05 May 2023 09:21:19
Completely agree - finally Nike have made a decent kit - should sell loads.

2.) 05 May 2023 10:02:17
Now wait for the monstrosity of the away and 3rd kit.

3.) 05 May 2023 10:40:42
Has solved the problem of what I'll wear for my sister's wedding.

4.) 05 May 2023 10:50:36
I really liked last years as well to be honest, the orange zigzags were a welcome addition to Liverpool kit canon.

I’m all for trying new things, and I hate going back to the well of nostalgia time and again. You can try new things as long as they adhere to fundamental laws of what is appealing to the eye, eg, not making the collar a weird mint green flappy thing.

5.) 05 May 2023 11:18:22
I’ve liked all the home shirts apart from the one with v shaped neck thing at the back felt like it was strangling me all so like this season green kit. To be fair there is only a couple I have not liked
.

6.) 05 May 2023 12:00:59
I like the kit, as well.

7.) 05 May 2023 13:34:02
it does look lovely but £80 for the basic fan shirt.

I mean that’s an outrageous price quite frankly.

8.) 05 May 2023 15:47:47
dhgate.

I think we should buy another five midfielders just to be on the safe side ??? Why do some people go bonkers around this time every season? I've no doubt Lavia or a similar type player along with a CB will be bought before the window closes.

Maybe becoming captain might give VVD some of that zest back.

Gomez not much better either. Thankfully it's only a pre season friendly.

My point is Sky are inconsistent. Take everything they say with a pinch of salt.

Sky also said we are working under tight financial restrictions.
