Olired, So if they are bad vs poor teams during a pre season you are not concerned because it's not a league game. What's makes you think they will improve massively to face even better opponents? The defence is not good enough and they need to fix it before the season starts.

You can tell its a pre-season friendly by the fact Adrian is in goal.

Defence does look sloppy in both matches so far and Gomez, Matip, and Kostas are doing nothing to change Klopp's mind that they are squad players.

Nunez Once again looked sharp 2 goals, 1 assist and hopefully he can carry on this form when it really matters.

I don't care about the result in a friendly as well but leaking goals and don't seem to know how to fix our problem from last season is going to hunt us.

@COffan, all fans of the club have concerns about the club - if they didn’t have concerns about the club then you could probably say they weren’t actually fans.

Here’s. A (rhetorical) question for you. Without looking it up, who did we play in our second pre-season friendly lat year and the year before and what were the scores? Pre-season isn’t about winning - it’s about getting players into the correct mental and physical state to win when the games start to matter. We need to get ready to win when the league begins and at that point we need to win our first game at Chelsea.

As fans we all want the same thing - to win the PL and CL every year that is worth being concerned about. Getting players fit and ready to try and win things is the most important thing at this time of year and, oddly, the club finding out current players limitations and flaws in the systems we intend to play are the best results we can get at this time of the year as it gives us the chance to set targets and work on things. As an example, Baj and Okey (Doak - geddit) showed up at last year’s pre-season and started to make a name for themselves - that was a lot more important for the future of the club than the results of last season’s pre-season friendlies.

WDW - I can't recall the teams we faced, apart from Leipzig, but I remember seeing the same tendencies we witnessed throughout the entire season. The defense was shaky and didn't seem as comfortable as seasons before. Additionally, Fabinho and Henderson had their worst season with us, which didn't provide much help or protection for the defenders.

As I mentioned earlier, I don't care whether we win or lose, but I see exactly the same patterns as last year. There are too many mistakes from defenders who can't position themselves properly, don't know when to press or drop back to cover.

I know Klopp is searching for reinforcements, but if we want to build a cohesive team and have them ready to play for PL, wouldn't it be better to have them in the squad now rather then later?

Don’t be silly COffan, it’s much better if we buy another three or four players a couple of days our first PL match - surely that make it far more exciting?
