Ed002 - any substance with rumour in Echo that we're looking at Branthwaite or is Inacio still more preferred target? Also any news on Gomez situation. TIA as always ?.
{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of LIverpool making any approach for Brathwaite.}
1.) 19 Aug 2024 12:33:21
They won’t let him join us. Imagine the uproar we buy him and they go down he’d have to go into hiding. It’s already toxic as it is.
2.) 19 Aug 2024 15:10:10
Branthwaite will never ever play for us. Everton simply won’t sell to us.
3.) 20 Aug 2024 01:25:27
maybe we can get valencia to buy him and then loan him to us with an arrangement that we buy him off them in 2025
:D.
4.) 20 Aug 2024 02:12:53
Why do people always say everton will never sell to us? Transfer have happened between the two clubs before if the price is right.
15 Aug 2024 20:50:50
Ed002 - With the reluctance of Sporting to do any biz with Liverpool (re Inacio) would Marc Guehi be of (significant) interest?
{Ed002's Note - Liverpool are having to deal with Inacio through his agent.. Huehi is not an option for Liverpool and is most likely heading elsewhere.}
1.) 16 Aug 2024 16:48:10
Guehi is a very good player, but he is over priced. As are many young players.
Unfortunately, the precedent has been set with Fofana at Chelsea, Maguire at Man Utd and even our own Virg. I'd suggest some are worth it and some aren't.
I don't blame Palace for trying to get as much as they can, but Guehi isn't a 70 million pound player in my opinion.

Hi Eds understand an opening offer has been made to Atalanta for Ederson circa €48mill - is it more hot air and whispers or something more concrete from your sources? What is your opinion of him if fact? Will he fit into Slots preferred formation? TIA.
{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any offer at this time.}
29 May 2024 18:30:38
Hi Eds the rumours regarding Johan Bakayoko from PSV seem to gathering pace and substance - anything more concrete from your side and so you think he would be a valuable addition? TIA.
{Ed002's Note - Johan Bakayoko (RW) Cost effective solution for PSG but may stuggle to be a starter so will not be interested in a move just to be cover. Liverpool have him on the list of potential Salah replacements but have not made any approach to PSV at this time - but he is certainly an option although if Salah decides to see his contract out it will disrupt any move. Spurs and Brentford offer realistic options. Chelsea and Manchester City have sent scouts but have preferred options. Borussia Dortmund see him as an option to Sancho but have also identified a preferred option.}
1.) 29 May 2024 21:06:38
Does all these clubs having preferred options not show that he is not good enough for us?
2.) 29 May 2024 21:46:58
People could have said the same about Mo Salah when we signed him, Jude.
3.) 29 May 2024 21:52:59
Are Liverpool looking to renew salah's contract?
4.) 29 May 2024 23:13:02
Would be daft to renew Salah’s contract given his age and decline.
5.) 29 May 2024 23:18:35
Salah wasn’t our preferred choice either, wasn’t he something like third choice, according to the accepted wisdom at the time he signed.
6.) 30 May 2024 06:55:45
Jesus does Salah not been our first choice justify every link to a player that's not good enough for us? hearing it years when we'd be linked to a player NONE of our rivals would consider good enough. i'd rather give Doak a try than waste 40-50m on Bakayoko.
7.) 30 May 2024 09:06:41
Doak is nowhere near ready has no end product yet and as ed1 has said might never be.
8.) 30 May 2024 09:38:49
Ed 001 is not the oracle fatwallet. Bakayoko is not good enough, by all means get a RW in but aim higher than him.
9.) 31 May 2024 11:30:24
@Jude, are you talking about Phillips going to Citeh, by any chance, or Caicedo to Chelsea, or Raphina to Barcelona etc?
12 May 2024 17:44:07
Hi again Ed002 - anything more concrete on a £69mill tentative bid for Aurélien Tchouaméni which is currently doing the rumour-whisper-around?! And with Julian Ward now back as part of the back room Dream Team will FSG give them a substantial warchest for Slot or will it be sell first and buy later? Thanks as always ?.
{Ed002's Note - Aurelien Tchouameni (CM/DM) Real Madrid do not wish to sell but recovering the money spent last year would go a long way towards topping up the Mbappe pot. Real Madrid has spoken to with Chelsea, who were previously blocked from completing negotions for the player, about him during discussions over two other players and some sort of exchange may be possible, but I suspect uilikely this summer. Bayern Munich have also told Real Madrid that they will be interested if he were to be made available, but they would like a loan with an option to buy although an exchange may be possible with Davies. Manchester United would be interested in taking him if available. There is no declared interest from elsewhere and any move seems unlikely. Previously illegally tapped up by Klopp but Liverpool but Liverpool may just return to see what can be done but there is certainly no advanced talks or bids. Madrid would possibly look to a part exchange with Trent Alexander Arnold.
I don't know what you mean by a "warchest" but Liverpool will have the funds to ensure the squad remains competitive.}
1.) 12 May 2024 21:43:31
I personally think losing Trent would be a catastrophic move and would much prefer to keep him than p/ x him with Tchouameni ?. By “war chest “ I mean additional funds on top of what we’ll get for finishing 3rd in PL (circa £170 mill ) PLUS circa £17 mill for CL qualification. They were prepared to splash £110 mill for Caicedo and that hasn’t been spent (apart for Endo purchase) ??.
2.) 12 May 2024 23:21:33
You do realise Schultzy that transfer funds aren’t determined by league placements. There’s only £3m difference in prize money between finishing places.
3.) 13 May 2024 06:08:59
There’s always been a big box in Edwards’s office where we keep the war chest for transfers. Every week we have a whip round and put the cash in the chest.
4.) 13 May 2024 06:42:24
I always thought it was just a sack with a huge dollar sign drawn on the front of it. Good to know that it's an actual chest.
5.) 13 May 2024 08:02:46
And get 10 lucky dips to see if we can boost it up a little Dracred.
6.) 13 May 2024 10:31:08
Ah, the annual Tchouameni chase. He's the new Simao.
7.) 13 May 2024 12:01:16
If it came down to it would you take Trent and Endo or Bradley and Tchouameni interested as to what people should choose.
8.) 13 May 2024 13:50:33
Fuser we will earn over £165 million for finishing 3rd in PL which goes straight on the bottom line so I’d like to think (perhaps naively indeed) they’d spend a large portion of that on an incoming quality left back, centre back and DCM…. not too much to ask for is it! ? Howling at some of the comments on FSG ???.
9.) 13 May 2024 14:46:41
@OneKiss, what makes you think it is one or the other. We already have TAA, Bradley and Endo, why don’t we just buy Tchouameni too and have all four?
10.) 13 May 2024 15:03:14
Can we please stop using words like warchest. It's a transfer kitty. We're not at war. In this day and age, it's a bit insensitive.
{Ed033's Note - Transfer kitty's are for women's football. :)
11.) 13 May 2024 15:52:49
Football finances are so massively misunderstood by fans. Everyone thinks it's like household finances.
Clubs almost always spend money they don't have and then aim to gain the money later via a variety of means.
The transfer fee is actually the cheapest part of a transfer, salaries are the most expensive and the part which accountants sweat over the most.
12.) 13 May 2024 16:16:44
I don't get the impression at all that the player wants out, further complicating any potential transfer. He had previously spurned LFC for Madrid after speaking with Klopp directly, so I just can't see him being interested in this move at the moment.
13.) 13 May 2024 22:01:15
mftjones, but now his godfather (slot) is taking over the reigns.
14.) 15 May 2024 01:35:03
Schultzy, and what money pays for the £350-400m/ year wage bill? ?.

30 Nov 2024 15:54:16
How do you let a £60-£70 million player like Trent go on a free! Those who have overseen this utter cluster need sacking! ??
1.) 30 Nov 2024 16:01:07
Well, Klopp has already gone.
2.) 30 Nov 2024 16:26:49
Who’s to say Trent has ever had any intention of signing a new deal, he’s won everything there is to be won with Liverpool, if he wants to go he goes, nice signing on bonus I would imagine also, you can’t just force somebody to sign a contract extension and when Madrid or Barcelona come calling who can resist, just ask alonso, Arbeloa, mcmanaman, macherano, saurez, Owen, coutinho.
Hopefully the smashing Madrid received the other night might give him food for thought but I doubt it very much, I mean who wouldn’t want to live and enjoy the Spanish lifestyle.
3.) 30 Nov 2024 16:35:52
Shultzy- what are you ranting on about? What do you know that the rest of the world is seemingly unaware of?
4.) 30 Nov 2024 16:36:20
Stick to fixing engines Mick!
5.) 30 Nov 2024 19:19:18
That’s the thing Jaydee these imbeciles are working on the assumption that the club has just not bothered to talk to these players about their contracts until now.
Honestly how likely is that?
It’s much more likely that these players’ agents have given indications that they won’t sign new contracts or are asking for more than we can give.
FSG have run us very prudently since they took over why would they ‘allow’ this to happen?
6.) 30 Nov 2024 19:53:53
BP- no doubt the players were holding off to see how things went with slott before signing new deals.
7.) 30 Nov 2024 20:15:12
Trent has made it clear thatthe golden ball is his main objective, along with countless trophies. Not many get the chance to move to the Galacticos, and its that or L4 for life.
Who can blame someone for wanting to change jobs and try something different?
Personally i don't see him being a star man over there, where he will be just another big name trying to fit in and do his best, but if that's what he wants, no one can deny him that.
To assume its the clubs incompetence is off the mark though.
8.) 01 Dec 2024 00:22:45
Perhaps Jaydee or perhaps they just want a fresh challenge. All three have been at the club for a while and as we all know, footballers are transient people who have options to play anywhere in the world.
We don’t know the reasons why it’s got to where it’s got but I’ll bet you it’s not because the club just didn’t bother to talk to them or forgot.
9.) 01 Dec 2024 00:36:15
Why do people keep asking the same question over and over again? @Schultzy, I’ve asked Santa to provide management at the club with guns to shoot people who don’t want to sign a new contract.
26 Aug 2024 12:29:56
Hi Eds any substance in the Alan Varela rumours? Again TIA ?.
{Ed002's Note - RTFP.}
17 Jul 2024 11:38:37
Eds surely the financial powers that be making all the transfer decisions won't let both Salah and Trent run down their contracts and walk for sweet F A at the end of the season!? ??? That would represent a circa £150 multi-million pound loss plus the additional massive amounts to replace them!? What are your thoughts / predictions? . TIA again.
{Ed001's Note - you can't force players to sign a new deal and you can't force other teams to come and bid for them. I don't understand all the whining. This is not the club at fault - this is purely down to the change of manager. It is just one of those things that happens when there is change, some people will want to wait and see whether the new regime is up to their expectations before they back it.}
1.) 17 Jul 2024 12:32:59
They want to win titles and can you blame them. I hope we match their expectations and try to win. I really dislike this idea recently of trying to pass off top 4 as some sort of achievement.
2.) 17 Jul 2024 12:44:28
What is going on on this site, is it FSG funded, the club is clearly at fault for letting all these contracts down, Sporting Directors have a huge say on contracts, targets etc, the club has poorly managed future appointments and renewals, it is all on the club, they should of took the Saudi bid for Salah, who has been dying for a big payday apparently since he came, so sell him, clearly in decline, Trent is the biggest question mark, how do you let your poster boy, local star and future captain get to this point, these owners are so far out of their depth its a joke and the blind replies from the Eds never saying a wrong word against them is a joke too, no matter what research could be put up here it would called as wrong and you're clueless. Net spend, mid table levels, will get defended, how, explain how these owners have shown their ambition, we won the league they bought a few teenagers to stock the squad up, 2/ 3 quality additions keep everyone on their toes and fresh that is football at all levels, these owners need to sell up.
{Ed025's Note - the thing is FSGF is that you are just trying to justify your user name mate, they are not as bad as you make out imo and are decent owners who will not allow the club to deteriorate financially...and thats a good thing, you are just moaning for moaning,s sake because you want all these shiny new toys and you sound like a stroppy kid who cries because he cant have the latest trainers, you are still a very competitive team who are regularly challenging for the major honours and signings will come in but its been difficult with the Euro,s and Copa America, my advice to you would be to wait until the season starts and see how things lie then, if that does not suit your agenda then i suggest you delete your account..and piss off..
3.) 17 Jul 2024 12:55:02
100%! They’ll want to see ambition in the transfer market and the ambition to want to win the champions league etc. its normal.
4.) 17 Jul 2024 13:26:51
Possibly the best reply from an Ed I've read on this site - kudos Ed25 ???.
5.) 17 Jul 2024 13:40:21
Absolutely superb, Ed025. We understand a whine now and then, but 3-4 times every single day is just bringing the page down, and very difficult to read.
6.) 17 Jul 2024 14:00:12
The trolls been fed enough recently. I would suggest just ignoring responding to them for now.
7.) 17 Jul 2024 14:47:05
Love it ed025.
8.) 17 Jul 2024 15:38:18
{Ed002's Note - ------------You don't understand the finances - just drop it-------------
9.) 17 Jul 2024 16:22:29
No but he’s good at telling us which footballers are crap ??.
10.) 17 Jul 2024 16:01:24
Here here Ed025 give that man a pay rise!
11.) 17 Jul 2024 17:44:35
I just think about where we were under Hicks and Gillette and what we’ve achieved under FSG.
Multiple CL finals
CL winners
PL winners
FA cup and Carabao winners
Club World Cup winners
All that time playing incredible exciting football.
Whilst buying several world class players and breaking transfer records.
Whilst bringing through the academy so exciting home grown talent.
AND upgrading and expanding the stadium.
I’ll judge them on their record and considering they started as complete novices, they’re doing well
Compared to other club owners….
{Ed025's Note - yeah but what else have they done Ron?.. :)
12.) 18 Jul 2024 10:27:12
City, Chelsea, United and Arsenal all won multiple leagues through improvement and investment, we won 1, my point stands, good to see the other replies were not posted, lovely freedom of speech, I get the agenda.
20 Jun 2024 13:32:53
{Ed002's Note - RTFP.}
20 Jan 2025 19:46:15
Personally prefer us going for Kerkez this window as definitely need a LB imo. Not convinced Slot has confidence with Quansah in his long term plans either so a left sided CB more important than Cherki ??.
13 Jan 2025 15:14:53
Robbie Fowler spot on - likeable industrious lad but not a Liverpool forward. If we could sell him and Doak on and go balls out for Isak who has a proven pedigree in PL and year on year has consistent high stats he’d score a hatful for us! ??.
05 Dec 2024 20:30:51
Sad to say but Darwin needs to move on (and with a 3 year write down it wouldn’t be as financially bad as it could be) He was totally out of his league last night and running around with loads of effort and industry doesn’t make you a PL player. ? Alex Isak would score aboat loads of goals and I’d love us to go balls out for him?.
25 Nov 2024 10:42:18
On the verge of a fan mutiny of Salah and TAA go without even a fight to keep them. How has it been left this long for all 3 in the first place! We’re looking as shambolic and unorganised as manure utd in upper management ???.
14 Nov 2024 19:23:47
Vango if I was a betting man I’d put my dough on Darwin being sold ??. Love his industry and willingness but he’s just not a PL / CL 20 plus goals a season forward - summed up by another 1 on 1 catastrophic miss last week against Villa. Slot has shown he’s prepared to be ruthless and his patience will run out with Nunez.
26 Aug 2024 20:58:31
21 games and only 2 goals last season isn’t the calibre I would want us to be considering…. is it more “bargain basement” buying again!? ??.
16 May 2024 21:17:10
Aside from the fact that he’s rubbish too - a complete liability as a “jack of all trades”! Definitely sell him ?.
16 May 2024 13:51:05
Fine and emotive words MK ??. Something about our club is that I always feel we can turn deficits round ; Istanbul when I jumped off my sofa that high I put my fists through the ceiling; the 4-0 against Barcelona where as a 54 year old I cried uncontrollablly like a baby! I expected us to overturn Atalanta but that loss to that manure rubbish in the FA Cup was the start of the demise! So wished to send our Glorious Inspitational leader off into the football sunset with some trophies. I’m even looking forward to getting battered in the Wolves end at Anfield on Sunday if my pal swings a ticket! The void this man will leave cannot even be measured until after Sunday BUT we will all get behind Slot, Edwards, Ward and Hughes and we will go again! ??YNWA.
26 Apr 2024 23:02:24
Back in July Klopp stated that Trent could play effectively as a 6 but chose to play him in this 3-2-2-3 formation instead as this "hybrid" role? What would be so wrong next season to have him move permanently to that specific 6 role instead of Endo with Bradley who is a much better technically defensive RB? Get Quansah hitting the weights in the summer to add some strength and speed and play him alongside VVD; Bradley RB and source a new LB to compete with an ageing Robbo and there's a more solid back 4 imo .
25 Apr 2024 16:03:35
Trent has never been a "defensive" defender! Positionally he's always getting caught out and quite frankly looks like a fish out of water most of the time; left-sided opposition players of quality tie him up in knots. Absolutely no doubt he's brilliant going forward with vision and an ability to put passes on a sixpence SO PLAY HIM IN MIDFIELD!
