Hi Eds, this was a random name for me as well, but any truth in the reported bid for César 'Chino' Huerta, from PUMAS in Mexico?
Thanks.
{Ed002's Note - Right footed LW - perhaps for the future. Work Permit would be difficult.}
1.) 29 Aug 2024 23:38:13
Ed002, I just want to echo the other readers and acknowledge your outstanding leadership and in-depth, long-range views and info you continue to provide!
{Ed002's Note - Thanks.}
27 Dec 2023 16:44:11
Hi Ed002, please, is the Antonee Robinson Fulham-Liverpool rumor legit? Also, does it have anything to do with the speculated loan return of Carvalho?
Thank you.
{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any Liverpool approach to Fulham for Robinson. If Carvalho returns on would expect a loan elsewhere.}
1.) 27 Dec 2023 22:23:33
Thank you, Boss! Enjoy your week!
30 Nov 2023 01:13:38
Hi Ed002, hope you're doing well. Don't want to ask just any random question, but I saw some reports earlier that LFC is interested in Lois Openda. Given the well-traveled RB to LFC route, I thought I'd run it by you. I don't know the player personally and have never seen him play.
Thanks.
{Ed002's Note - Lois Openda (S) Only joined RBL this summer and whilst he is doing very well with sides interested in talking to RBL about him, they have no interest in selling. Still seen as a potential Osihem replacement for Napoli. Wildcard could be Milan who had interest in him at Brugge but their focus is on another. RBL are losing one or two other forwards and will reject any requests for discussion. I am not aware of any approach to them by Liverpool whose focus should be on a Salah replacement.}
1.) 30 Nov 2023 10:19:52
Thanks, 002. So, my deduction from your response is that Openda may not be a suitable replacement for Salah. However, if you may, and I don't mean to put you on the spot here, but based on how emphatic you sounded, would you say it's a given that Salah is a goner end of the season? I know you've in us over the years of his agent's mover. Do you believe that Salah is definitely off to Saudi next summer?
{Ed002's Note - Openda is a striker and Liverpool's primary need will be for a versatile RW to replace Salah in the summer.}
2.) 30 Nov 2023 13:55:52
Thanks for your responses, and have a good day.
{Ed002's Note - And you.}
11 Aug 2023 01:42:25
David Ornsrien and The Atheltic are reporting that there was an auction tonight and Liverpool won the auction for Caicedo. I don't know what to believe. Ed002, can you help?
{Ed002's Note - I am not sure "auction" is the best term as Chelsea made clear they would not go above £100M for the player and Liverpool did.}
09 May 2022 12:16:12
Hi Ed002, please can I bother you for a minute? I'm just wondering if Liverpool are still interested in Bowen. I know you've written about him in the past but given his current form, I was wondering if there's anything new as far as Klopp's interest in the player. Also, do you think West Ham will do business if the player was interested in the move? Any info will be appreciated. I just think given stronger players and coaching, that guy can score 20 goals a season.
Thanks, 002.
{Ed002's Note - Jarrod Bowen (RW/LW) I am still not aware of any formal approach to West Ham by Liverpool, but Bowen is a player who would be an ideal replacement for the now departed Shaqiri and perhaps to depart Oxlade-Chamberlain or Minamino - and he is HG. Liverpool have a good relationship with his agent and have apparently spoken with him. I don't know if West Ham would be open to selling. Their focus is on other positions. So it makes some sense if West Ham are open to a sale and if the player accepts a bit-part role. Previously Leicester had an approach turned down by West Ham. Spurs want to add competition to Moura but I think Bowen would want to be a starter so any club signing him would need to convince him of their project. I would not totally rule it out.}
1.) 09 May 2022 16:35:55
I don’t see it unless one of Firmino, Diaz, Salah, Mane or Jota leave. I think we could convince him to come in and be a part of a ‘front 5’ but doubt he would (or should) accept an Origi style role.
2.) 09 May 2022 18:01:01
Unless we see him playing behind Salah on the right side of the midfield, which is a total change in position for him, then I'm unsure how it could fit unless someone significant moves on.
3.) 09 May 2022 17:27:49
Thank you for your reply, Ed002! Hopefully Salah is sorted out sooner than later. I don't mind Bowen at all. Who's is agent, if I may? I don't have any football contacts or anything, but just watching him, Bowen strikes me like a hardworker, and I've just become sick of Salah's singing to the media rather than focusing on his football! Everything you said makes sense in terms of his homegrown status and potential space (s) in the team. Not sure he'll command a huge salary at first either, so what's not to like? Salah wasn't the Egyptian King until he came to Liverpool; who says we couldn't find the next one?
{Ed002's Note - He shares an agent with Roberton and Alexander Arnold.}
4.) 10 May 2022 10:23:06
10 goals and 10 assists strikes me as a player on the up. Maybe the answer is to sell both Mane and Salah then bring in Bowen and Nunez.

I was thinking of a special charity match between Liverpool and Wolves with all players wearing No. 20 and all proceeds going to Rute and the kids, or after special account for their education or something.
It's kind of crazy feeling so heartbroken for so long over someone I never met in person, but I just can't get Diogo out of my head and can't stop being emotional!
1.) 07 Jul 2025 15:36:34
The one thing they don’t need to worry about is money. They need many other things but not money.
2.) 07 Jul 2025 15:50:08
Sounds like a very good idea Noski and one that many people would be happy to be part of. I also get what you mean about being heartbroken but never have met him. It cuts me up every time I think about his wife and kids and what they are going through, especially because he sounds like such an amazing husband, dad, brother and friend to so many people. I know most people speak well of someone when their time has gone but I've never heard so many speak so well about one man before. That says so such and makes me even more sad.
3.) 07 Jul 2025 15:54:56
It's a pity that the rules probably won't allow all our lads to wear no. 20 and their lads to all wear no. 18 (his number at Wolves) when we meet in the league.
4.) 07 Jul 2025 16:12:58
I'm with you, markp08.
5.) 07 Jul 2025 17:12:57
Correct Mark and Rome ?.
6.) 07 Jul 2025 17:24:19
Agree with Mark, they'll be alright financially. Im sure they'd trade all the money in the world to turn the clocks back a week.
7.) 07 Jul 2025 17:42:39
How are you, Barry? Hope you and the young man are healthy.
8.) 08 Jul 2025 20:44:24
Maybe an annual pre-season game against Wolves with the winner taking home a cup or shield named after Diogo? Take turns in hosting the game?
03 Jul 2025 10:43:53
He wears the No.20.
I'm so sorry, Diogo. It was far too early for this to have happened. Thank you for the way you played football and for all the memories, and my heartfelt condolences to your family.
You'll never walk alone.
27 Jun 2025 14:45:51
It was really nice to hear Kerkez speak about Robbo the way he did. After listening and watching how genuine Milos sounded, I hope Robbo can sense that the kid really looks up to him and that he'd be a great role model for another couple of years perhaps.
Kudis to the recruitment team. I'm just looking at the three main guys we've recruited, and they all seem to be very level-headed while extremely talented as well. It bodes well for team spirit and club culture. That must be one cool dressing room to be in!
1.) 27 Jun 2025 15:10:41
Absolutely agree on all of the recruits so far - really level headed and great guys.
I too hope that Robbo stays for a season or two, what better person to learn from than one of the best LBs in the world over the last few years.
That will mean that Tsimi probably needs to go.
2.) 27 Jun 2025 15:39:02
But said dressing room camaraderie is why Tsimikas wants to stay. ?.
22 Jun 2025 23:53:04
This is probably a rant, but I had to vent a bit. I respect all the posters here, and it's a banter site, so ultimately, it's your word against mine. But I couldn't disagree more with Akira and MK and this idea that showing profound appreciation for Klopp is somehow a shadow cast on the current team, or that is us romanticizing! What is wrong with people showing fondness for a deed well done? I don't get it, and I think Klopp will be amused quite frankly if you asked him.
This unprovoked tirade from Akira is just wrong on so many levels, whether you have insider knowledge of the club or not, or whether or not you know the dozens of players that refused to play for us because of Klopp. Spurs wanted Slot the year before we got him but he turned them down. Why did he say yes to us and even talked about it in the media several days before the deal was actually done? Why was he so excited about being the Liverpool manager or coach? If Klopp didn't take us to where we were at that time, do you think Slot would have fancied us that much? What does it matter if we're a top 3 or a top 5 or a top 10 team? Oh, is it because Florian Wirtz says we are a top 3 team that we really are? Does Gary Lineker agree? This is all subjective nonsense from a new player who has yet to kick a football for Liverpool, so to attempt to devalue the work that has been done in the last 8 or so years because of a subjective statement made by a new player is just so bewilderingly repulsive that I don't right English word to describe it!
The ranking of our team makes no difference based on the evaluation of one person, but I personally couldn't be more grateful to Klopp for making us happy and relevant again, just as Shankly once did, and that's what I live for as a lifelong Liverpool supporter.
How many former Man City players have statues at the Etihad? Why should showing profound respect for a legendary figure be conflated with his failings? Klopp never told you he was the best manager ever; he simply said the team deserved the best effort, and when he felt he could no longer give us that, he was not too proud to step aside. Salah's glow in reference to Slot shouldn't and doesn't make Slot the better manager all of a sudden because, thank goodness, Ed002 gave us that inside scoop on Salah and his agent for many years! [Discussion for another day! ] But I should add that Klopp's management of Salah was fundamentally different than Slot's, and Klopp wanted Salah to defend more than Slot has, and I'm not interested in who Salah prefers between the two managers because they're fundamentally different and Salah's preference is Salah's preference! Everyone who supports Liverpool know what Salah lives for, so it's not difficult to decipher where "Salah's glow" is coming from! But I would never belittle Klopp because someone said we're a top 3 team now and we weren't a top 10 team when we had Klopp. I wouldn't also belittle Klopp because Salah is in love of Slot for helping him pad his stats while defending less!
Yes, Slot might end up eclipsing Klopp at the end of the day, but Klopp will be the first person to congratulate Slot and call him THE outstanding manager of his time when that happens. That, in my mind, is why Jurgen Klopp is my all-time manager!
1.) 23 Jun 2025 01:35:26
That whole thread reminded me of that film Snakes on a Plane. Before Jurgen Klopp came along Liverpool were an absolute laughing stock similar to Manchester United now. Slot is a great manager but right now Klopp is the best Liverpool manager of most of our lifetimes.
As for Akira Indykaila, he has about as much insider knowledge as I do, he only has traction now because Ed002 is no longer around to shut these frauds down.
Zabarnyi, Romero, Zeze, Martinez, none of these players have been linked to us by credible sources, he’s just throwing names in the air and hoping he gets lucky.
2.) 23 Jun 2025 01:36:43
Klopp won almost everything with this club.
Premier League champions
Champions league winners
World club cup winners
FA Cup winners
Carabou cup winners
European super cup winners.
Anyone who doesn’t consider Klopp a legend of the club is a bit weird in my opinion.
He did everything asked of him, and more.
3.) 23 Jun 2025 03:05:43
yeah, this Klopp narrative has become weird.
There seems to be a weird sensitivity about making any kind of comment that appears to take some credit away from Slot.
Slot himself is giving credit to Klopp for the team he built and handed over. I think the debate ends there tbh
It's also a bit revisionist. Klopp's time at the club was basically laying the foundations.
We all agree we should have won more, but other than actually getting over final 1% of the season in the lead, we were right there.
Klopp did everything possible to make us as competitive as we could be. So I don't accept the apparent "lack of trophies" as evidence that he somehow failed.
Equally, crediting Klopp doesn't take anything away from Slot. Slot didn't arrive and take a team in the relegation zone to a title. This team was as ready to win a title / trophies as any other in the league.
That doesn't take anything away from Slot. it is that both can be true and together they complete the full picture.
Now why we are wasting time on this anyways. Surely we want the story to continue and for the picture to bigger and brighter?
4.) 23 Jun 2025 04:17:59
I would suggest that EVERYONE on this site - including Akira - would consider Klopp an unconditional legend. That wasn't the point of his tirade.
Conversely, no one is above constructive criticism and deserving of unconditional fawning. That MAY have been the attempted point of of his tirade.
Either way, "Rave on John Donne".
5.) 23 Jun 2025 05:08:37
His point that top pl.
6.) 23 Jun 2025 05:41:27
Right delvecs. Very well put.
Everyone is interperating to suit their agenda.
Klopp is a great/ legend as far as LFC is concerned. No one is denying that. But saying eveything that Slot has achieved is due to the foundation set up by Klopp is not correct.
Similarly new found love for Richard Hughes beause of Wirtz signing is also laughable. Suddenly they want to have a pop at everyone who povided feedback on Hughes last year. Let him do his job.
Real applause will come when he unearths a rare diamond. Not Wirtz or Isak who are already super duper stars.
Agree that Akira was over the top slightly but MK paid due respect but at the same time called it our perfectly.
7.) 23 Jun 2025 06:08:07
His point that top players didn't want to come to us because of Klopp strikes me as very odd. You mean that if Slot was here instead of Klopp Bellingham, Tchouameni etc. would have come? And does that mean that the likes of Dom, Macca, Grav, Endo are the kinds of players we had to settle on because we couldn't get more premium targets? These are also the players who won us the title this year.
I think we can all appreciate that Klopp in his darkest moments (and in his grumpiest moments when losing games) was probably not the nicest person to be around, but I'm sure that you could find just as many anecdotes about how much the players adored him. Akira's post paints him as a moody dictator that nobody could stand up to and who held us back because of his arrogance and selfishness.
Again I have to ask- Klopp's faults were patent throughout his tenure, whether it was loyalty to players, his tendency to tap players up because he was used to doing it in Germany without reprimand, his clamour for certain players that didn't look like the best solutions (though I think maybe Dembele has vindicated Klopp's persistent desire to bring him in) etc., why didn't the higher-ups build a structure to keep his worst tendencies from affecting the club? If Klopp's reign culminated in a situation where one person held all the reins (and he himself admitted that he had taken on too much responsibility at the club in the end), why was that allowed to happen?
Putting all that stuff at Klopp's door only goes so far, and just feeds the charismatic cult of personality narrative, but in the opposite direction. If you were to believe Akira Klopp wanted all the power, wasn't able to handle it, wasn't able to see that he was bringing the club down with him, and was too selfish to let go earlier than he did. I don't think he should be surprised that folks on here might find that to be a somewhat less than acceptable account of the last few years.
8.) 23 Jun 2025 07:00:47
I agree 100% noski, I couldn't believe what I was reading.
slot himself had no issue giving credit to previous management regime, said it several times during the season and at the end of the season when he won.
9.) 23 Jun 2025 07:08:52
Klopp turned the club around there is doubt about that we were going nowhere fast and for that he goes down as a true legend. I’ve not seen the post from Akira but reading what you guys have said I would say a lot of what he said is true Edward’s looks like he left because of Klopp wanting all the power and a lot of times his choice of players where not up to it.
Ed002 was never a fan of Klopp and behind our red tinted glasses we could not see a lot of the truths ed002 was telling us.
The comparison between Klopp and Shankly could have never been any bigger that the end of the season when he came back to tell us of to respect Trent when in that signing interview we could see the little respect Trent had for the fans Shankly would tell the players how lucky they was to play for us with Klopp he would tell the fans how lucky we was for them to play for us.
Klopp dropping that bombshell mid season last season did not help the club one bit and all the talk about need at least a year out was a lie because he was back in 6 months and he left because of the job he had been offered at red bull that’s why pep got the job there and ruled himself out of the Liverpool job so fast.
So you can see it is the power Klopp wanted and he has it now at red bull but I truly thank him for some of the greatest times as a red I have seen in my life supporting the club since about 1980 so some very good times but I am also truly grateful he never got that power here because be would have taken us back down with that much power and spoiled his legacy.
10.) 23 Jun 2025 07:36:52
And you are interpreting what people are saying to suit your agenda, SamiKewell.
Akira is entitled to their opinions but they should expect a reaction especially when getting facts wrong, telling us to get the facts right and basing some of those opinions purely on conjecture.
My favourite bit was Klopp allowing City to win four titles in a row ?.
When, in fact, Klopp was manager of the team that prevented City winning seven in a row.
11.) 23 Jun 2025 08:01:26
Klopp had his positives, and like all men, has his negatives as well.
There is nothing wrong with looking back on Klopps time with either a fondness or a critical analysis of his shortcomings. People are entitled to look at that era from their own perspective.
In time I won’t remember the sense of sadness I felt watching us have the wettest of wet fart performances against Atlanta. Knowing the reign was going out on a bit of a damp squib.
I will remember Dortmund. I will remember Barcelona. I will remember the feeling of that final whistle at Stamford Bridge when we won the title for the first time (that I could enjoy anyway) in my lifetime.
You choose what you remember. Yes Klopp got a lot wrong at times and we could have won more but ultimately - Klopps reign made me happy and that’s what I will remember.
12.) 23 Jun 2025 08:35:34
Cheers SamiKewell. Not sure why I got name dropped to be honest. I was very complimentary of Klopp on that thread and compared him to the great Bill Shankly, and said he picked us up out of the dirt. My only point was that Slot finished the job of making us a top 3 club again. I never denied Klopp put us in a strong place for him to do so though.
I actually think at our very best under Klopp (2018-2020) we were probably a top 3 club in the world also, but he couldn’t sustain it as he wasn’t ruthless enough with changing players. Our more or less same starting XI picked itself for those 3 years. Hopefully Slot is more like Paisley and has the ruthless streak to achieve sustained dominance.
13.) 23 Jun 2025 08:51:14
I don't get the Klopp vs Slot argument. Why does it have to be one or the other? Klopp took us from Europa/ CL place challengers. To expecting a trophy and a title race as a bare minimum. Yes he had his faults, i. e. not strengthening the squad when we were at our best for him. 26 from 27 wins and then went to buy squad fillers.
But, he put us back in the conversation and if it wasn't for city, he'd have at least one or two more prems to his name. As for the CL's, I don't think he bottled them. One was a Karius disasterclass and the other we couldn't find our clinical boots.
Klopp has solidifed the foundations of the club, now let's hope slot can build his empire.
14.) 23 Jun 2025 08:56:39
Kindly indulge me to my delusion guys. I love Klopp and I don't wish to know anything negative about him cos he's human and isn't perfect. We won't be here without that man. First, he conquered our doubts and made us believers and then helped us win everything in football, bar the Europa League. He's my hero, a true legend in actual meaning and I adore Arne Slot for sharing in this thought. Please guys, we are in the middle of a transfer window non of us dreamt of and all we want to do is to dig the past and mess with the legacy of a man, who helped us get here? Come on guys, focus! Upwards and forward! YNWA.
15.) 23 Jun 2025 08:59:18
Great post, Wassa ?.
The only thing I would question is about us could/ should have won more.
I put that down more to competing against the likes of City and Madrid rather than Klopp's failings. Obviously he does have faults but he was a huge part of us even competing with them.
MK, I don't think you should have been mentioned with Akira either.
That post about Klopp was unbelievably biased and I don't think you are like that.
16.) 23 Jun 2025 09:20:39
It's a common human affliction. Historical revisionism. Revise history to suit current purposes, whatever they may be and for whatever reasons.
It's another lovely day in the neighbourhood. ?.
17.) 23 Jun 2025 10:06:53
Neither of them are a patch on Woy or Brenda.
18.) 23 Jun 2025 10:23:37
Very well said - Wassa.
19.) 23 Jun 2025 10:23:37
The fact that there is even a Slot v Klopp agenda is what I find disheartening and downright futile and disappointing. How did we get here? A true sad state of affairs.
20.) 23 Jun 2025 10:27:17
Does it really matter what ed002 thought about our Jürgen? He's not a Liverpool fan so his feelings would be different from ours. Should we be objective about klopp? Could we? Is it wrong that we felt compassion for him when he was at his lowest point, when football observers and pundits from the outside called him a grumpy and whiney git? Is that not at the heart of our club and is it not the spirit that he radiated and represented for us?
I'm not sure why there are people saying we shouldn't let emotion cloud our perception of the klopp years when emotion is at the heart of LFC, and is the one thing klopp underlined time and time again. Championing slot for being ruthless enough to make decisions to succeed is all fine and dandy, but if we got ancelotti instead of klopp and won a few more trophies, would everyone have preferred that? I personally wouldn't, not in a million years, I would have chosen klopp a hundred times out of ten and re-lived all of those plateaus and troughs if you have me the choice.
You can say the man we adored behind our screens and the man he was behind closed doors were entirely different, maybe so, though I find it hard to believe because he always put everything out there for better or worse. The important thing is that whatever his failings we came to care about the man just as much, or even more than we did his results as a coach. And that is part of his legacy whether you like it or not, and part of what makes this club special to me.
Whether that is fantasy, the naive hope that something human shines through a football world saturated with money, I don't know, but that fantasy is a central part of Liverpool football club in my eyes (and we aren't unique in this, of course, there are other teams that hold doggedly to this ethos) .
21.) 23 Jun 2025 10:59:48
I wonder if message boards had been a thing, a similar 'discussion' would have been ongoing when Paisley took over from Shanks 50-odd years ago?
Ultimately, in my view, Klopp was a great manager of ours, won virtually everything.
Slot has the potential to be greater, but at the moment it's only potential.
Until we get another 2-3 seasons in with Slot, we won't know whether he has established us at the top or not.
To be fair to Klopp, he did exactly that himself - in his last 6 seasons we only finished outside the top 3 in 2020-21 when we had the double whammy of all of the CB injuries and Covid which threw massive doubt on our finances with no matchday income.
I don't care who history ends up looking on more kindly, I'm just pleased to have had 2 managers so good back-to-back.
22.) 23 Jun 2025 11:05:53
Nobody dislikes klopp and nobody said he is anything but a legend.
What bought the reaction was people here being convinced that slot title win has something to do with klopp which is so far away from truth it is laughable.
23.) 23 Jun 2025 11:26:02
I'm sorry Akira but this feels sort of like backtracking on your part, to me your post read like
'hallelujah Jürgen is finally gone, we can finally win trophies and attract top players! '
24.) 23 Jun 2025 11:36:12
They are both on a very impressive list of managers who have won the 1stvDivision / PL for the club. Isn’t that enough to guarantee their credentials. I agree with Oli, the my Willie’s bigger than yours is pretty pathetic really.
25.) 23 Jun 2025 11:58:59
Pretty sure if you asked slot himself he would say he was left the keys to a pretty nice house.
City fell off a cliff last season. And if klopp had remained there's every chance he may also have won the league.
All ifs and buts.
To say the title win had nothing to do with klopp is a bit strange. Slot made the point himself that he was coming in to a pretty nice foundation that only required minimal tweaking.
If people still want to give a bit of love to the man who built us back up I can't see why that should annoy anyone.
City will be back next season. To what extent it's hard to judge. But they will certainly put up a better showing.
Klopp built the club up with a mentality of competing with a club putting up insane points totals year after year.
The trophy haul may not show it but klopp went toe to toe with City and Madrid and often lost out only to a moment of brilliance.
There's nothing but respect attached to that man's name. Without him we may have been in the state utd are now.
26.) 23 Jun 2025 14:38:45
You can’t deny Klopp’s work with the current squad.
He achieved great things with them.
To say his influence on these players had nothing to do with the title win is just nonsense.
Slot gets all the credit. No question about it.
Klopp certainly had a positive influence on these players, it’s only natural.
27.) 23 Jun 2025 16:40:07
Anyone who says Klopp isn't a legend is a troll, what he done to turn this club around with his hands tied most of the time is spectacular. Look at some of the players he inherited and the team he left. The only thing the poster got wrong was about Salah, he has to play this way now, if he had to teach back he wouldn't score or make many goals as he would be knackered.
21 Jun 2025 22:02:29
Ed001 and Reds, what do you think went for Tyler Morton? Seems to be playing well for England during this U21 tournament.
Do you expect us to sell him? If so, any info on interested parties?
Thanks.
{Ed001's Note - there has been a bit of interest, I do expect him to move on this summer.}
02 Jul 2025 22:28:55
BM as in bowel movement? A lot of BM from those guys in Munich, that's for sure!
16 Jun 2025 14:34:44
This is beyond epic! Long after this is all over, we'll relive the summer "Desperate Scousewives" became a thing!
What a transfer window!
21 Apr 2025 23:06:42
YNWA Kaiser.
I'm happy these guys made you smile a bit. A loss is never easy; I know that firsthand after losing my dad and it's still very raw 2 years later.
