Since we do have a fondness for relegated players (as there can be some exceptional value to be had), out of this years contenders for the drop, who would you pick?

1.) 20 Jan 2022 18:52:11
Richarlson when Everton go down maybe? A bit of a drama queen, but can play.

Dennis is pretty much carrying Watford. And obviously we have existing interest in Sarr.

Omabamidele of Norwich has looked good for Ireland, but international footie's not great to judge on.

2.) 20 Jan 2022 18:55:21
Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

3.) 20 Jan 2022 19:12:29
That would make ed025’s day, Thunderbird.

4.) 20 Jan 2022 19:34:00
Saint max for me.

5.) 20 Jan 2022 19:42:18
Dwight McNeil.

6.) 20 Jan 2022 20:27:42
I’d go for Sarr and Cornet.

7.) 20 Jan 2022 20:45:50
Sarr for me too, saint maxin is too injury prone and has no real output despite his obvious talent. Maybe Dennis.

8.) 20 Jan 2022 22:47:13
Chris Wood for me. Only because he could have gotten two teams relegated.

9.) 21 Jan 2022 02:02:09
This some kind of sick joke VVVV? no way I'm falling for this so you can get off tellimg us how each player isn't good enough
🤣🤣🤣🤣.

10.) 21 Jan 2022 02:30:04
Cornet Sarr Denis S. Maxim Cantwell M. Aarons.

11.) 21 Jan 2022 05:01:49
Dennis is decent and a double deal for him and Sat would not be the worst deal of the summer.

12.) 21 Jan 2022 08:50:24
Sarr or Cornet, as well cos we were interested in Cornet in the past and are still interested in Sarr currently.

13.) 21 Jan 2022 12:14:03
Faithinworks, I didn’t know that Ousmane Dembele, Adama Traore, Renato Sanches or Franck Kessie played for teams about to be relegated? I think the only ones I’d say outright no to is Dwight Neill, as he’s a dyed in the wool United fan and not that good and Todd Cantwell as he’s a bit of an arse by all accounts and he’s not all that good either.

14.) 21 Jan 2022 13:47:57
Dennis looks like he could be a great mane replacement for me, if he were to leave in the summer, supporting with jota. Good in the middle or wide, scores goals and good in the air. Refining his game with us I think he can step up a level.

Thing is, we don’t have a lot of money and we can’t make mistakes in the transfer market. Sign him on a long term deal on huge wages and we’re lumbered with him if and when it inevitably goes wrong as no one in their right mind would take him off our hands on the salary he’d be on. Besides which, it’s well documented by some very reliable sources that he’s for far more than what Salah is alleged to have asked us for, how happy do you think Salah would be if Dembele walked in (well hobbled, on crutches), on a salary of over £500’000 a week when the club had tyre kicked around his negotiations? Let him be someone else’s mistake.

I only have one question Ed002, would you consider Diaz to be nifty?

ViktorVaughanVaudevilleVillain

{Ed002's Note - Some do.}

I think Newcastle will come in at the end of the window and make a bid close to what we’re asking as all their other attempts are falling on their arse.

Non exhaustive list of better value for money players than Ousmane Dembele:

Bozo Texino
Snoogy Doogie
Ken Aguero
Navy Keith
Former Leeds United and Scotland frontman Arthur Graham
Even Adama Traore

Dembele has AVOID AT ALL COSTS written all over him in big neon letters, there’s definitely no bargain to be had as he’s in such poor physical condition and he never will be, he’s as congenitally broken as a Lancia Beta. And a complete retromingent gilfnard of epic proportions.

His career will fizzle out in the next two/ three years and he’ll be struggling to get games at a mid table Turkish club. Odds on. Hard pass.

Sanches is nowhere near an undeniable talent (that wonderful pass into the advertising hoarding always lives long in my memory), he’s bottled it in the top leagues and found his level in a farmers league. Thankfully it’s just nonsense as no one at the club would be that stupid to waste money on such an injury prone footballer.

The season we won the league and had the 18 game unbeaten run, we weren’t playing catch up, we were already far out ahead. City don’t look like dropping points and they’ve gone on these kinds of runs before on a number of occasions. We do have a tendency to drop cheap points far too easily and we’re likely to again. Our midfield has been far too inconsistent and easy to play against at times this season and it’s allowed teams back into games, regrettably City don’t allow teams back into games and that’s where we will fail in the league.
